Have you seen our little flashmob themed around Cosmic Caravan? Cosmic Caravan is a pathfinder version of calendar-linked constellations (like zodiac...), 13 constellations metaphorically speaking go after one another forming a procession of people and things symbolising turning of time and seasons. Starting a caravan is... "The Thrush (18 Kuthona — 20 Abadius) is the sign associated with friendship, hospitality, a promise of new beginnings, and song. The constellation portrays a songbird sitting on a branch and greeting the weary Cosmic Caravan at the start of the new year. The Thrush is the patron of merry makers and optimists."(Pretty interesting piece of lore that could be found in wotr inside the Pulura's Fall) P.s. My Commander Iamith in her full azata form but also in a mask... Mask is a reference too long to explain, consider it just as a cosplay of a thrush.

Art for the Cosmic Caravan event for Ask Pathfinder CRPG
Tumblr media
Taren was born on the 7th of Sarenith, but the sign of the Rider corresponding to this date does not suit his character. For the event, I chose the Lantern Bearer constellation for him.
The Lantern Bearer (21 Abadius — 16 Calistril) is the constellation that begins the caravan's procession. The Lantern Bearer goes forth, chasing back winter's darkness and lighting the Cosmic Caravan's way. This sign is disposed toward cheerful, self-sacrificing, and altruistic personalities.

Hielaph: The Silent Guide of the Lost ✨
Meet Hielaph, a celestial being of pure light, who embodies the essence of all things lost, misplaced, or wandering. This genderless, faceless, and eternally silent deity doesn't speak, but rather communicates through subtle actions and the delicate weaving of fate.
You might glimpse Hielaph as a swift hawk or a graceful deer, its form shimmering with stars and constellations, carrying a piece of the cosmos within. Its symbol? A featureless orb encircled by the silhouette of a bird and a deer, representing guidance and grace.
The Aetherlens: A Cosmic Catalog of Loss 🌌
At the very core of Hielaph's power is the Aetherlens, a luminous scrying orb. This isn't just any orb – it holds the essence and memory of everything lost. We're talking about more than just misplaced keys; it includes forgotten dreams, abandoned hopes, forsaken memories, and even wandering souls. Hielaph can use the Aetherlens to show visions, guiding worthy seekers to lost things or leading them to rediscover what they need in unexpected ways. It's Hielaph's silent eye watching over every traveler, on physical journeys or through the labyrinths of their own minds.
Subtle Whispers, Powerful Paths 🦌🦅
Hielaph's guidance is incredibly subtle, almost imperceptible – a distant glimmer of light, a faint rustle of leaves, or the fleeting silhouette of a cosmic animal. Those who follow Hielaph often find themselves on paths they never intended, only to realize these detours led them exactly where they needed to be.
It's said Hielaph intervenes most when people are in desperate need: pilgrims seeking sanctuary, refugees fleeing danger, or lost souls searching for purpose. In these moments, Hielaph might appear as a hawk soaring ahead or a deer standing watchfully at a crossroads, silently pointing towards safety or enlightenment.
Tales of Guidance & Rediscovery 📖
Hielaph's influence is woven into many tales:
The Unseen Guide: A radiant, cosmic hawk once led a caravan of lost exiles through a vast desert to an oasis, guiding them to safety and a new beginning.
Keeper of Forgotten Names: Hielaph is believed to guard the names of those lost to history, sometimes restoring a lost sense of identity to those who need it most.
The Wayward Candle: During a harsh winter, a flickering candle, guided by Hielaph, appeared and led villagers to a hidden cache of supplies, symbolizing hope in the darkest times.
Honoring the Silent Watcher 🙏
Followers of Hielaph aren't tied to strict rules. Instead, they honor the deity through acts of kindness, helping the lost, and caring for travelers and wanderers.
Shrines are simple, unassuming spots, often marked by an orb-like object with cosmic motifs, placed along roads or at crossroads.
Offerings include tokens of lost things (like a single glove or a lone key), believed to ensure safe travels or help others find what they seek.
The Festival of Wanderers is an annual event where followers share journey tales and give thanks for Hielaph's unseen hand.
The Eternal Paradox: To Seek is to Understand 🤔
Hielaph embodies a beautiful paradox: it knows where everything is, but it doesn't give easy answers. Instead, it teaches that the journey itself is often more important than the destination. Sometimes, what's lost isn't meant to be found, but simply understood.
In a world full of uncertainties, Hielaph stands as a quiet beacon of hope, reminding all who wander that they are truly never alone.
The Parable of Hielaph and the City of The Lost
Hielaph, the Silent Watcher, descended as celestial dust and light to a thriving city, unseen by its tens of thousands of inhabitants.
Silently, Hielaph began its work, recording every detail within the Aetherlens: the names of every person, the locations of wells, markets, temples, and even secret paths.
It witnessed and recorded the deeds of all, from acts of mercy to acts of wickedness. It even mapped the city's hidden underground veins and waterways.
For many days and nights, Hielaph observed, its cosmic dust glimmering faintly. When its work was complete, it lingered briefly, as if in sorrow for what was to come, then ascended back to the cosmos, carrying the city's complete memory within the Aetherlens.
Years later, the city was no more—its walls crumbled, its towers fallen, its streets silent and filled with rubble. The cause of its ruin was forgotten by time.
Hielaph returned to the ruins, drifting through empty streets and shattered homes. Yet, it remembered everything: the laughter, the songs, the prayers, the faces, the joys, and the sorrows of its people.
As Hielaph floated among the ruins, its cosmic dust gently swirling, it was filled with sorrow. For even though it had recorded all, it could not restore what was lost. It could only remember.
Silently, Hielaph ascended once more, leaving the ruins behind. The memory of the city, however, remained within the Aetherlens, preserved for eternity—a testament to what once was and what can be lost.
This is the way of Hielaph: to bear witness to the fleeting nature of all things, to guide those who wander, and to grieve for what cannot be found again.

Jottings: Season 7, episode 7. If my Latin serves me, that must mean star traveler
Finally made it. Ticked that box. Doubled Cape Fear. I deserve an ice cream, I suppose.
To be honest, I was expecting way worse. And it ends much better than it started, despite SS moaning like a banshee, despite the chopped editing, despite that finger-in-mouth failed transplant (I shall not thank thee, Vanessa Woman) and despite an almost unreadable storyline for us, show-onlies.
A few words on this season's Lallybroch set. I know the Eighties were dubiously fond of shrieking orange shades, diarrheic golden browns and horribly impractical furniture, of course. But am I the only one that feels modern-day Lallybroch is tacky and kitschy AF, as compared to the wonderful, really perfect J&C& the Murrays' timeline? I also find it disturbingly confusing, a failed hybrid between a Texas ranch and a Brittany gentilhommière. To bear the shock, my gaze needs the active help of details with a story and a destiny, such as the Jacobite 'Nemo me impune lacessit' saltire I've noticed ever since Mrs. Graham was reading Claire's teacup, in season 1 - now almost an afterthought. Therefore, the overall result feels like J&C's shrine has been colonized by anachronistic hipsters, not to mention that horrible caravan. There is a complete lack of coziness to a space that did not have the time to become a real home. That only makes things worse when #Broger try their best at mimicking a functional, credible marriage, sex included.
Let's be done already with the Phil Collins moment. And go tell it on the mountain that, despite the multiple warnings received recently, my reaction somehow managed to surprise myself. Reader, I HOWLED, which is beyond redemption and potentially much more cruel than a heavy disappointment. The hydraulics were shaky. The afghan was mustard. She was indescribable and he was elsewhere. I shall only add that my brain refused the connection with In the Air Tonight and went instead for I Can't Dance. If there is any truth in that old symmetry between dancing, driving and canoodling - go figure. Enough said.
The two people who totally slayed this episode were Buck Mackenzie and Vandervaart - I know, indulge me, I am a poor woman of feeble mind. I do not intend to insist on young William, simply because I don't think it's savvy to shamelessly fangirl two days in a row. He shines in that very difficult battle scene, and yes, it reminded me of Culloden J sans the kamikaze touch. And yes, by the end of Saratoga 1.0, William is easily ten years older: the whole world's burden weighs on his shoulders and there is a taste of ashes to that Pyrrhic victory.
Spoiler: [looking at Jemmy's toy plane] Of all the things I have seen... have you been inside one? (...) My Jeremiah would love this. Buck is phenomenal. He is versatile enough to seamlessly transition from a hungry animal to the 18th century lawyer to the unwanted, macho cousin-ancestor to the father who misses his children, all of this in less than an hour. And even if I shall never forgive Herself for not bringing You-Know-Who through the stones, this could be as good as it gets, in terms of a second-best narrative solution. Still, unfair, Herself. Unfair to bits.
Spare the cosmic booing in the air these days, the J&C/S&C PDA issue has also been debated at length, in quite tired terms, to be honest. What I did see was a couple sure of itself and completely at ease with one another. And if you think S&C were nowhere to be found, think again about C's chuckle just after J cheekily tells her she needs spectacles, with a very 21st century flirty-coffee-in-town attitude that is not J.
I believe the next and last episode is on August 11th. That should be the one with the blue light mojo, right? Right.
I can't wait.

Solarpunk fans continue to eat well at the Wholesome Direct.
Full list of games with links under the cut. I tried to single out games that appear to focus on nature, technology, and community. However, I only have as much info as these trailers, and sometimes I get them wrong (like Venba--fantastic game, absolutely not solarpunk.) There’s rarely a game that I don’t care about at the Wholesome Direct, so check it out for yourself. The limited edition merch this year is going towards the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, so go buy some maybe!
Sally: Sally is a life-sim game about community and belonging. Embark on a grand journey aboard a magic flying ship. Navigate daily life as a kid with a diverse crew unique to every game. Craft, cook, farm, build and explore the skies as you become who you want to be amongst your found family.
Caravan SandWitch: Embark on a journey across vast landscapes in Caravan SandWitch, a captivating narrative-driven exploration adventure.
Space Sprouts: Embark on a journey filled with cozy cosmic chaos and dive deeper into the mysteries of your solar punk spaceship with each replay. Get entangled in the ship's unique physics and make this place your new home.
Crab God: Crab God is an atmospheric underwater strategy game. Guide your Crabling colony through wild ocean depths, and defend the egg of the next Crab God. Restore and protect diverse coral reefs, making a difference in the real world as you progress in-game. Make waves, praise the claw!
Spilled: Clean up ocean waste in this relaxing & satisfying cozy game! Recycle, earn coins, upgrade your boat, repeat! Explore and clean up new areas with more waste and new challenges!
Tukoni Forest Keepers: Tukoni: Play as the forest spirit Tukoni as you meet unique characters, solve captivating puzzles, brew fragrant tea and explore a magical world filled with kindness.
Ete: Été is a relaxing painting game set in Montréal. Color the city to explore, create artworks on canvas, collect stamps in your album, decorate your studio, fulfill commissions from your neighbors, and unleash your inner artist!
Into the Emberlands: Venture out into the Emberlands and uncover an ever-changing world filled with surprising encounters and mystical creatures! Save villagers who got lost in the Miasma, collect resources and rebuild your village to create a safe haven for your people.
Fantastic Haven: Restore the equilibrium of magic by saving endangered fantasy creatures. Build your shelter to welcome and protect them, explore unique regions, rally neighboring populations to your cause and rehabilitate creatures in their natural environment.
Bonus:
Garden of the Sea: A chilled-out life sim where you play, craft, and explore across magical islands. Build a house, grow a garden, nurture animals, adventure across the surrounding ocean, and make yourself at home!
FruitBus: A journey of flavors and friendships awaits you in your cozy, customisable food truck! Forage for fresh ingredients to create your own menu, then feed tummies and souls with home-cooked meals. Change the world, one apple at a time. (this ad made me tear up)
Broken Lens: Broken Lens is a cozy game where you will discover the story of a little robot with a sight problem. Explore manifold cute environments at your own pace and investigate to understand what happened to them. Will you be able to uncover all the secrets?
Map Map: Embark on a cozy treasure hunt as cartographer of an adventure crew. Use your sense of direction to make maps, help your companions and explore idyllic islands.
Discounty: Manage your own supermarket! Organize and restock shelves, check customers out, make local trade deals, and befriend a quirky cast of characters. Salvage a failing shop in the once-thriving town and grow it into a thriving business empire. But be warned: not everyone in town wants you to succeed. (seems to be more on the dystopia side, but still focuses on relationships with community and the environment.)
Kamaeru: Foster a sanctuary for frogs and restore the biodiversity of the wetlands in Kamaeru, a cozy farming sim where you raise frogs by playing mini-games and decorating your habitat. Hop right to it!
Sopa: Miho steps into the pantry to fetch a potato for his grandma and falls into a magical world full of wonders. Meet quirky characters, venture through the depths of South America, and learn the importance of the things we pass along in this unforgettable emotional narrative adventure.
The Palace on the Hill: A heartfelt story of ambition, struggle, and friendship told from the perspective of a young boy in fictional 90s rural India. Explore ancient palace ruins, set up your garden, cook Indian food, run errands for quirky characters, and learn about your history by making art.
Moonstone Island: Moonstone Island is a creature-collecting life-sim set in an open world with 100 islands to explore. Make friends, brew potions, collect Spirits, and test your strength in card-based encounters to complete your Alchemy training!
Bonus Bonus: Okay look it wasn’t on the Wholesome Direct this year and it probably won’t be very solarpunk…but Davy Wreden is releasing a tea-shop sim game and it’s either going to be the best or the worst game of my life so I need someone else to know about it

KEMIS LOOKS SO COOL!!! Sorry, got pumped. Anyways, what’s your inspiration behind all 4 Cosmic Caravan characters???
Thank you!
A lot of thought went into the character creation.
For Kemis i want to make a very wise, silly, and socially oblivious old man. He was gonna be a old human wizard at first.
His outfit is inspired by classic fortune teller looks.
I want him to look like a gentle giant, who would offer you a drink in his home.
Kemis themes are fortune teller, astrology, and a alchemy.
For Alistair, I wanted a looks like then can kill and would kill you, kinda guy.
However, he is a soft and a sweet papa bear for his daughter and would burn the world for her.
A man with a tragic backstory but is a loving father.
His look and themes are based on elden ring ( just very simple because it be hard to draw constantly)
For Morgo I want a very creative, energetic, determined teen. She's still figuring out, right and wrongs. Learn what she wants to do in life. But always looking to make new things.
She's well.. a gremlin.
I got some inspiration from arcane. Jinx/powder
socially awkward teen Going through life. With her single father.
Toffee is my classic seductive, selfish, attention whore.
He lives to play his music and become a rich and well know star. To become more then a simple farmer.
His western theme and his story came from the song " The Devil Went Down to Georgia" easy to see because of his golden fiddle he plays.
That's all I will say on them. I've thought a lot of these guys and I love them very much. I hope to make a comic on them one day.

Class Feature Friday: Bell Implement (Pathfinder Second Edition Thaumaturge Implement)
Tumblr media
(art by cobaltplasma on DeviantArt)
A marvelous property of pure metals is their ability to generate such clear notes of sound when struck or vibrated. So beloved is this aspect of them that we’ve devised all manner of ways to shape metal for that exact purpose, be it complex instruments, wind chimes, or indeed bells.
A bell can be a simple instrument, or it can be a powerful tool of communication, often both at once. Bells can inspire fear and alertness when used as an alarm, or comfort when used to signal times of day or even times of worship.
Indeed, bells are strongly associated with various religions for their ability to signal when certain religiously significant times were approaching over a large area.
Its no small wonder that bells are often considered sacred instruments, and that there is a lot of folklore that paints the sound of bells as able to drive away evil spirits.
It is that significance that thaumaturges capitalize on with their occult arts, and many of them do adopt bells as one of their implements. These are often handbells, though handchimes, windchimes, and even larger bells such as those used by guards in some cultures. Anything that is notable for it’s ability to signal with sound might be appropriate. Such chiming instruments are associated with the cosmic caravan astrological signs of the daughter and the blossom.
Such implements, empowered by the belief and knowledge of a thaumaturge, become especially useful in driving away and disrupting the actions of monsters.
When their chosen foe casts magic or attacks, these thaumaturges can ring their bell to disrupt their concentration. Why they can’t lose the spell because of this, it can still reduce the intensity of the effect or throw off aim enough to help allies avoid the attack or magic.
Later on, their bell continues to resonate afterwards, causing the effects of the chiming to last longer.
They also learn to link their own strikes to the resonance of their bell, causing foes they exploit the weakness of to be more vulnerable to the bell’s disrupting chime.
Finally, those who master the bell learn to intensify it’s effects, as well as use it against all foes, not just the one they are currently targeting with their expertise.
Beyond that, a decent handful of feats are useful and/or thematic for those specializing in using the bell implement, such as Divine Disharmony, Haunt Ingenuity, Root to Life, Esoteric Warden, Turn Away Misfortune, Shared Warding, Thaumaturge’s Demesne, Esoteric Reflexes, Sever Magic, Unlimited Demesne, or Wonder Worker, though obviously your build will differ.
The bell implement is there to give you a way to help protect your allies by debuffing your foe as they attack, potentially protecting allies as they make saves and avoid attacks. That alone makes your thaumaturge a bit more of a support character, so you might consider building in that direction or diversifying to provide a more even approach of attack and defense.
Though thaumaturges aren’t quite the same as their predecessor class, the occultist, they share some of the same bones, so thinking about what sort of significance the instruments that thaumaturges might use as bells is interesting. One might be the bell of a town crier whose alert saved a village, or perhaps a bell from the parade raiment of a priest meant to frighten evil away, and so on.
A child of a magically-assisted union, Vokuss the Horn is a dromaar, or half-orc, but his other half is one of the stout kashrishi, those crystal-horned psychic beings. Though his appearance is unusual, he has a special knack for psychic resonance, particularly with his set of crystal chimes. As such, he has long worked a monster hunter, able to understand their weaknesses by listening to the notes of the chime.
Acclaimed monster hunter and thaumaturge Poculus has gone missing, and whats more, his signature brass bell has turned up, half-melted in the a forge downtown. The owner claims no knowledge, but his fire mephit assistant, Scorchfingers, is being evasive, as if he witnessed something, but it too afraid to reveal it.
The Nomoon community is a collection of various “monstrous” creatures living in the undercity far from the street level of Moonsilver. Though distrustful of outsiders, they are a surprisingly good-hearted band of misfits. They are a bit superstitious though, and refuse to move the bell left behind by a would-be monster hunter they drove out some years ago.
