Drew most of these a couple of months ago and just never posted them, so here’s a bunch of simple portraits I did to learn how I’d draw them in my style

Since Legendary cookies in canon have significant influence over Earthbread, are they like manufacturers in this AU? Providing necessary products for the shops like for example, Moonlight providing Pure Vanilla with books?

That is a good question, I didn't think about them much at the start.

The ideas I have for now:

-Moonlight cookie has the biggest library in existence, representing the city of wizards. But she herself doesn't spend time there regularly, having Blueberry Pie manage it in her place, and Stardust working part-time. Wizard and Pure Vanilla visit a lot.

-Stormbringer owns a temple, that also doubles as a dojo

-Sea Fairy owns an aquarium/restaurant. The mermaids work for her, Black Pearl and Crimson Coral working as managers. They hold mermaid spectacles in a giant aquarium, their tails being a costume.

-Wind Archer works in a nature reserve/park, with Millenial Tree as his boss.

-After some reading on Frost Queen cookie I imagine her as a retired doctor that opened a sewing/wool shop afterwards. Cotton and Sherbet work for her and hold the shop, while Icicle Yeti and Snow Sugar regularly come to the shop to learn to knit.

-I don't have much for Fire Spirit Cookie yet, as I don't like the idea of associating him with mines like they did in his update on kingdom and I can't think of something beyond a BBQ restaurant, but that would kinda overlap with the mermaids. otherwise, he could be fire safety in the nature reserve, making him and Wind Archer coworkers.

Aight thoughts on todays bbh lore cuz we got A LOT. Just stay with me through my nerding about trees it’ll be worth it XD

We pretty much got 100% confirmation that he is intentionally hurting Baghera and Forever and that he thinks of himself as expendable. What fascinates me the most is when Bad asked Foolish this

“Is there anything wrong with burning the forest to save the trees?”

At first glance you might think YES if u burn the forest then there won’t be any trees??!! However it is a custom on fire risk zones to create controlled fires that burn up brush and dead trees so that the risk of a natural and far more devastating fire is reduced. Additionally, if a fungus infects a forest, burning the infected trees may be the only way to prevent the spread to the rest of the forest.

On top of that, there is a specific type of tree species that requires fires in order to reproduce. These are often Pine trees that drop pinecones. Pinecones hold seeds inside them that only germinate when immense heat is applied to them: the heat of a forest fire. When they are within these temperatures, the seeds germinate and the pine cones pop, scattering the seeds on the forest floor. These trees adapted to form a symbiotic relationship with fire one of if not the most destructive natural forces on the earth.

Do you know one of the trees that has developed this adaption? Redwoods.

The whole reason I noticed this scene is because I live near the redwood forests in California and I know all about the way these trees depend on fires for their survival. It’s something that’s always fascinated me. That’s when I assume Bad was going to ask foolish the above question before Jaiden and Teana cut their conversation short while they were talking on the Titian . He literally had these specific trees on his mind when he was going to ask about burning down the forest.

Let me tell you another thing about Redwood trees. They are ancient. They are massive. They are sturdy. Natural fires are a common phenomenon here and a majority of the redwoods survive with barely a scratch, maybe an inch or two of its outer bark scorched. Nothing it won’t grow past in a year or two when these trees easily live for 500+ years.

(Side note, if there is one place in America you should visit it’s the redwood forests of California. It is literally like entering a portal to another world. These trees are 10-15 ft in diameter easily and you can just feel how ancient the forests are. It’s one of my all time favorite places to go)

So, in the situation Bad is proposing, burning the forest to save the trees, he is actively thinking about Redwoods in this hypothetical. Not only trees that are extremely resistant to fire but trees that depend on fire to survive. That completely changes the way he is approaching this question.

In his hypothetical, the forest will burn. The animals will die. The brush and non redwoods will turn to ash. The land will be scarred and the trees themselves may look dead, branchless and black. But. But. A season will pass and new branches will peel through the charcoal. Seeds deep in the soil will surge forth as the soil is fed nutrients from the ash. Animals will return. Pinecones will shed their fertilized seeds to give birth to a new generation of trees. And by next year, the forest will look just as vibrant as it had before the fire. Trees may bear the scars of the flames but life continues and it continues and it continues always.

Overview

Best known for his portraits, altarpieces, and religious and mythological narratives, Piero di Cosimo created only one surviving allegory. In this painted personification of abstract concepts, a winged woman, largely nude despite her two layers of mantles secured by knots, extends a sprig of juniper and daintily holds a rearing stallion by a string. She has been convincingly identified as Chastity, who effortlessly contains the forces of Lust embodied by her virile steed. The figures occupy a rocky island adorned with barren trees, surrounded by a misty waterscape. The double-tailed mermaid who energetically parts the seas before them may be understood as a siren symbolizing the dangers of carnal passion.

In the Renaissance, recondite allegories such as this often adorned the covers and reverses of portraits, testifying to the virtues of their sitters. Piero’s panel may originally have decorated his likeness of Simonetta Vespucci in the guise of Cleopatra (Musée Condé, Chantilly). The work’s spare execution and delicate gray tonalities, punctuated by the brilliant red of the lady’s costume, would befit this secondary function. The evocative, even impressionistic atmosphere that envelops the figures is typical of Piero, whose powers of fantastic invention are matched by careful attention to the natural prospect.

People really don’t talk enough about how Yoruichi’s family name means “House of Four Maples” and Urahara’s zanpakuto is literally named after a fucking maple tree.

Like think about it. Part of URAHARA’S VERY SOUL in at least NAME bears a strong connection to Yoruichi and her family. You can take that in any possible way you want, but there is no denying the significance of it. It makes me INSANE.

when amber sugar cookie sees a flower to collect pollen and nectar from, his bee instincts kick in and he goes "bzzzzzz" and starts flying over there and nobody can stop him until he attains the nectar

for people matcha cookie cares for, she'll sometimes randomly appear at 3AM with gifts for them

pure vanilla cookie is trying to keep up with the youth's slang, much to the misfortune of anyone around him (bonus points if you hc pure vanilla and dark cacao as married like i do so dark cacao just dies a little on the inside every time his husband says the word "swag"), PV is also good friends with millennial tree cookie and the slang is starting to rub off on him too. oh no.

sea fairy cookie and moonlight cookie are the mothers of the five mermaid sisters as well as abyss monarch cookie, thus making stardust cookie an uncle

dino-sour cookie is trans (FtM) and when he came out sour belt IMMEDIATELY got to work sewing some masculine clothes for him

also pond dino cookie is dino-sour's adoptive child and i will die on this hill

shadow milk cookie hates jukebox musicals, but otherwise the man LOVES musicals and can and will break into a musical number while terrorizing people, despite being a twisted freaking cycle path whatever sane part of him is left wants to catch up on all the plays and musicals he missed while sealed away

if you throw down bird seed any of the birdlike or bird adjacent cookies (wind archer, blue slushy, red panna cotta, sugar swan, crowberry, stardust, golden cheese, smoked cheese, etc.) would feel the urge to fly/walk over and. peck peck the bird seed

dark choco cookie is touched starved and surprisingly easily flustered

milk cookie is very physically affectionate and gives really good hugs and is even MORE easily flustered (darkmilk is my roman empire)

twizzly gummy cookie took her band of misfits to the barbenheimer premiere

the beast cookies experience massive culture shock when they see the modern cookie world, it's like showing an iphone to your grandparents

okay mermaid's tale spoilers in this one kinda so look away if you haven't seen it yet and this one is more of a rejection of canon than a headcanon but the mermaid sisters, especially crimson coral, were NOT all like "well at least she got the strength she wanted to protect the seas now she'll be okay" they were utterly devastated at what white pearl cookie had become barely resembling the kind mermaid she once was, crimson coral sometimes contemplates swimming over there to see her again but she has to keep the other tearcrown residents safe (they didn't seem nearly as fazed as they should've been imo)

Blue Lily and Lilybell are daughters of Elder Faerie and Sugar Swan.

Lily loves to travel and on one of her trips she found Affogato injured and alone, since then the two became very close to the point where they consider each other siblings.

On another trip to the sea, she and Affogato met Black Pearl.

Somehow they managed to strike up a civilized conversation with her and became friends, then they met the others and Lily helped them get along.

Lily decided to live in the woods of Beast-Yeast, so as not to be bothered by hunters or other cookies.

In her travels, she also found children who had lost their homes or were abandoned, and ended up adopting them.
