#GreenCrew Submission for @simscici: Malik Morrison
Enemies to...enemies?
This erratic, generous, green fiend wants to live that Zen life (or is he just a flake?) and he wants to keep the planet clean for future generations. Malik wants you to know that the amount of power it takes to run a hackathon, the lights, the processing power, the carbon footprint? It's a lot, alright? Hackers are so careless!
Sometimes he'd just like to do hot yoga without worrying the power will go out. Do you know how awful it is to be mid-sesh and then the heat goes out? It's worse than getting hacked (ask him how he knows).
(Hot yoga sesh not depicted. Just a regular sesh. And that's Judge the judge/Malik's dad.)
Malik Morrison grew up the son of Brindleton Bay judge Judge Morrison (yes Judge is a judge!). Being raised by a man of such high moral character wasn't always easy, and he's often torn between wanting to emulate him and get as far away from his judgment as possible.
It's not that they have a bad relationship. It's actually quite good, and Judge is a good dad, but after Malik was expelled from university for trying to shut down the chem lab permanently (they pollute!), let's just say his Dad was...unimpressed. So much for always making his dad proud! But Malik doesn't need the negativity. He's an adult, and he's gonna go live like one.
Probably.
Name, Gender: Malik Morrison, he/him Sexual Orientation, Pronouns: cis/het Career: Nothing yet. His dad loves it.
No likes or dislikes or turn ons and turn offs yet (or skills, for that matter). He's fresh like a baby because I made him recently in CAS using Judge Morrison's genetics, was still thinking about what to do with him, and then the chance to send him over to @simscici to test his fate came up!
Private download if chosen for #GreenCrew.

Van Halen will release an expanded edition of their 1995 album Balance on Aug. 15.
In addition to the B-side "Crossing Over" and the two songs the group and its members included on the Twister soundtrack, the set includes nine previously unreleased live tracks from the Balance tour.
You can see the complete track list and hear a new live version of "The Seventh Seal" below.
Eight of the live tracks are audio-only, taken from a June 24, 1995 show in London which featured the band in the unusual position of opening for Bon Jovi. The ninth appears on the Blu-ray included with the expanded edition, and features a one-time only live performance of "The Seventh Seal" with the Monks of Gyuto Tantric University, who provide the song's opening chants.
Two shows from Van Halen's 1995 were professionally filmed, broadcast and heavily bootlegged. The March 11th tour opening stop in Pensacola, Florida aired on MTV, and two August shows from Toronto were combined for a Pay-Per View broadcast. Neither is included or represented in this collection.

Balance was the final album to feature Sammy Hagar as the group's lead singer, and earned them a fourth straight trip to the top of Billboard's album charts. It featured the hit singles "Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)" and "Can't Stop Lovin' You."
In addition to coping with the sudden ascendancy of grunge music, the Balance recording sessions found Van Halen struggling with personal and interpersonal issues which would lead to Hagar's 1996 departure from the band.
"That was the record where if I said black, Eddie said white, and I'd say, 'Okay, white,' he'd say, 'No, I want black,'" Hagar later told Rolling Stone. "I'd say, 'Okay, well, I wanted black to begin with.' Then Eddie would go, 'Well, I don't know what I want, I'll let you know when I do.' He just wanted the opposite of what I wanted."

Metaphors are not how we define territories; they are how we travel across thresholds between categories. They are bridges across difference. Through them, we connect the abstract and the concrete, the small and the large, the live and the inanimate, the human and the nonhuman. Sometimes the metaphors are built so deeply into language we hardly notice the bodily anatomy that gives mountains foothills, rivers headwaters and mouths (curiously, at opposite ends), needles eyes, vases necks, chairs arms, and tables legs. We think through our bodies, and that includes seeing bodies elsewhere, making bodies the terms of understanding how animate and inanimate, tiny and huge objects and systems work. Both needles and storms have eyes. Metaphor is the process of relating things that are alike in some fashion, to some degree, and the literal-minded object on the grounds of those differences while the metaphorically minded understand the limits of similarity.

❛ the more you know, the shorter your life will be. ❜ -theaccursedninth
(@theaccursedninth sent a meme from here) - (always accepting!)
The bark of laughter that left Klaus's lips was so forceful that his head fell backward, shoulders quivering from the jovial sound as it echoed up into the air. There was both fresh and long-since-dried blood trailing from various wounds here and there along his head and chest, and the wounds glistened as he laughed.
It took him a few seconds to level his head and meet the other's gaze, his own green eyes dilated and somewhat watery from the motley crew of emotions burning inside of his chest.
"HA! HAHAhahahahaHAAAA! Ohhhhohooo, well… Ahhh well, then-- it looks like I'm gonna live a really, really long fuckin' time. Lucky me," he insisted before dissolving into another fit of nearly hysterical laughter. The sound was tainted around the edges as the tone wavered between amused and absolutely terrified.
He blinked rapidly, the tears sliding down his cheeks and soaking into his goatee as he took a shuddering, sniffling breath inward and looked around the expanse. It didn't look like anything he'd ever seen before, and his stomach twisted with unease as he realized that no part of the experience seemed terrestrial.
"Look, I don't-- I don't know shit, okay? One minute I was sitting on a city bus with a briefcase in my lap and the next thing I know, I'm- I'm-- I'm-- here." He insisted, the aforementioned briefcase laying on the ground several feet away and smoking from within. Klaus himself was clad in a long black coat that fell to his knees that was buttoned at his waist, and a bloodied white towel wrapped around his waist beneath that- but that was all.

Scans of the Brazilian magazine "Set" from January 2008, whose main article is about the movies that were going to (or were scheduled to) premiere in theaters that year, time when the Writers' Strike took place in Hollywood. On the cover, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull.
In addition, the magazine also features articles about the movies The Kite Runner, the Brazilian one My Name Ain't Johnny ("Meu Nome Não é Johnny") and the sequel to Alien vs. Predator, which I won't emphasize here.

Sims Crossing Over! Sims In Bloom's Anjali & Zacharius "Zach" Beard for @bloomingkyras
cw: mentions of abuse
Zacharius "Zach" Beard dreams of a life of adventure, inspired by the art created by his mother, Anjali. She travelled the world for years, soaking up culture and experiences to inspire her work, then settled down when she met Zach's father.
She doted on Zach and worked in her home studio, but when Zach's intense dad turned to abusing drugs, alcohol, and Anjali herself, she knew she and her son couldn't live like that. Telling no one where she was going, Anjali escaped with Zach and never looked back.
They spent some time living in a shelter in San Myshuno's Spice District while Anjali worked on her art and got back on her feet, securing her own clients and working with lawyers to gain full custody of her son. It wasn't easy, but Anjali's nothing if not determined - a quality she hopes will rub off on Zach.

Now, Anjali and Zach have left the shelter for a new life in one of @bloomingkyras' save files! Maybe Anjali and Rosé will bond over their situations as single moms, or maybe Zach is destined for adventures with Giselle (or any of her other sims!)
What we know for sure is they'll be safe, but perhaps not without the trauma of their memories. Here's hoping this new beginning is everything they deserve and more!
Housekeeping under the cut...
Zacharius "Zach" Beard (child) - Adventurous
Anjali Beard (adult) - Art Lover, Creative, Romantically Reserved
When I made Zach and Anjali I also made his father so Zach used their genetics, but the sim named Dave has been deleted because 🖕 him that's why! So feel free to make your own lore for Zach's father, if you want him anywhere near these two.
They come with one outfit in each category but please feel free to redress as desired! Only Anjali uses any cc, which can be replaced with preferred cc or removed outright as it's just her highlights.

Boxed Set Introduces Four Newly Remastered VH Studio Albums With Sammy Hagar, Plus Rarities Recorded Between 1989 And 2004

5-LP And 5-CD Versions Arriving On October 6
PRE-ORDER NOW direct from VanHalenStore.com
Van Halen will release a new boxed set this fall spotlighting the band's second incarnation, with singer Sammy Hagar, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, and bassist Michael Anthony. The upcoming set includes newly remastered versions of four multi-platinum studio albums, along with a selection of rarities recorded between 1989 and 2004.
THE COLLECTION II will be available on October 6th on 5 Vinyl 180-Gram LPs for $124.98 and 5 CDs for $49.98. Pre-order both versions HERE. All the music in the set was mastered directly from the original master tapes, a process overseen by the band's longtime engineer, Donn Landee.
The new set is the long-awaited sequel to THE COLLECTION, a compilation released in 2015 that focused on the six studio albums recorded by the band's original line-up, which featured singer David Lee Roth. THE COLLECTION II picks up where its predecessor left off and covers the four consecutive #1 albums released during the Hagar era: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991), and Balance (1995).
The journey begins with 5150, Van Halen's seventh studio album and the band's first to claim the top spot on the Bilboard 200. Certified platinum six times in the U.S, the record treated fans to hits like "Dreams," "Love Walks In," and "Why Can't This Be Love" which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group returned two years later with OU812, a quadruple-platinum smash that delivered four Bilboard Hot 100 hits, including "Finish What Ya Started" and "When It's Love."
The accolades continued with For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, which earned Van Halen its first Grammy® Award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Album. Debuting at #1 and staying there for three weeks, the album achieved triple-platinum certification. The record produced an incredible seven singles, including hits like "Poundcake," "Top Of The World," and "Right Now."
In 1993, the band released its first live album, Live: Right Here, Right Now, before returning in 1995 with Balance, its final studio album with Hagar. The album was another commercial triumph, debuting at #1, selling more than three million copies, and earning a Grammy nomination for "The Seventh Seal."
THE COLLECTION II concludes with Studio Rarities 1989- 2004, an exclusive compilation that assembles eight gems from the Hagar era for the first time. Among these rarities is "Crossing Over" the B-Side to Balance's "Can't Stop Lovin' You", and the band's only non-album B-side.
The compilation boasts other exceptional highlights, including the band's cover of Little Feat's "A Apolitical Blues" and the instrumental "Baluchitherium" which were left off the vinyl versions of OU812 and Balance, respectively. Additionally, the set features two songs the band contributed to the Twister Soundtrack "Humans Being" and the Grammy-nominated "Respect The Wind."
Rounding out the set are "It's About Time", "Up For Breakfast", and "Learning To See" which were recorded during the band's temporary reunion with Hagar in 2004. All three debuted that year on Van Halen's second greatest hits collection, The Best of Both Worlds.
Sammy & Mike share their excitement:
Sammy Hagar: "Mikey and have been waitinga long time to get these remastered Van Halen records from my era. They did the whole nine yards. This stuff sounds SO GOOD!
These records were recorded before (without) ProTools or digital recording: it was analog on real to reel tape recorders. There's a very special sound to that type of recording. We were careful not to destroy any of that, but to re-master with more modern technical equipment to bring out that wonderful magical sound. It's never sounded better.
I know you're gonna enjoy it. There are some special bonus tracks in there. A Box Set. It's the whole Van Hagar era. All remastered. Finally! It's About Time! BOOM!"
Michael Anthony: "So excited about our Sammy era box set coming to ya!! Our longtime studio engineer Donn Landee remastered these albums and they are kicking ASS!"
