Crocus - Unbound Marauder

Children: Breezeheart and Crowstalker

Crocus had always lived in the barren desert. She knew the best times to get a drink, where to find her food, how to survive. She didn’t know how to take care of kittens. She couldn’t even remember ever being a kitten. Was she ever this young and helpless? 

When she was young, she could remember the various travelers her and her mother would stumble across. Some mean and cruel, some kind, most indifferent. 

But Crocus has heard of a group of cats who take care of kittens. They live together in huge colonies and help each other survive. They won’t take in adults, not that Crocus would be comfortable giving up her life of solitude anyway, but maybe, just maybe, Crocus could offer her kittens a better chance at survival by taking them to these Colony cats. 

Crocus knew how to survive.

Anyways hi both oc lore and a very personal piece because true mouselobite fans and friends know exactly where each line comes from. Uhm. Horrors.

For it to make sense Crowstalk would of been Crowpaw at the time but a very late apprentice (11/12 moons) meanwhile Birchpaw would be roughly (6/7 moons). Crowstalk is the child of the deputy and a very well respected cat in the clan.

Would add more but I'll be fr I don't feel like doing it while I'm eating dinner. Just know there's a whole lot of symbolism in this piece

This is Crowstalker (left, she/they/it) and Pepperedmoth (right, he/they). Crow’stalker is a dark forest cat who trains Pepperedmoth from when he was a young apprentice to try and get him to join a group of cats led by a Tom named Everfall (he isn’t here but I’ll post about him when I draw him again). She wasn’t an intentionally malicious cat when she was alive, she was a WindClan warrior who was framed and exiled, causing her to take her revenge, yknow, dark forest stuff. It isn’t actually that close to Everfall and isn’t really aware of his actual intentions, but they don’t want to be forgotten, so she agreed to train cats for him. Crow is soft spoken, motherly, and vengeful.

Pepperedmoth is a young, spiteful, rebellious ThunderClan warrior who was manipulated by the dark forest to (by proxy) join Everfall’s group. Spoiler but he does eventually leave, but there’s a lot of manipulation involved that keeps him from it until the last minute. He’s prickly but when he does get close to and trusts the cats around him, he’s kinder. Mainly because he’s been told by the dark forest not to trust his clanmates.

This is Pepperedmoth and his littermate, Vampirefang (he/him). They were sort of rivals since kithood because Vampirekit seemed to be ready to be a more formidable warrior. He was a lot larger than Pepperedkit and when they were apprenticed did end up preforming better than him (he also trained in the dark forest, really only because he knew his brother was there too and wanted to keep an eye on him. Vampirefang is really reserved despite his intimidating demeanor and he’s like… such a hopeless romantic omg.

Ok this guy isn’t that important in the story but his name is Corvidmane, Pepperedmoth and Vampirefang’s mentor (he was vamps at first but after vamp was made a warrior earlier, pepperedmoth was appointed to Corvidmane after the death of his older mentor. Who also happened to be Corvid’s sister. Oops.) I love him a lot mainly because he’s just a little guy. He loves his clan and really loves teaching his clanmates. He’s like… Brackenfur. But he has more dialogue. And is a little sillier. Definitely a lot clumsier. He’s just a guy basically idk that’s why I love him.

Then there’s these two who are also just little guys but more plot relevant lol-

this is Swarmwing (left, he/him) and Oleanderheart (right, she/her). They’re Pepperedmoth and Vampirefang’s parents. Swarmwing is a senior warrior who’s also just kind of a guy, he’s very energetic and passionate, a bit messy. His mate, Oleanderheart, is a former loner who joined ThunderClan from living in the city her whole life. She’s responsible and a bit strict, but friendly. They’re also t4t I love them I just really like characters who are just little guys especially in warriors :)

I have been tossing around a cyoa idea in my head for a bit (not fandom alas) but today I figured out something big for it in the shower and I am :Dccc about the idea! It's a character exploring an abandoned alchemist's lab, with three paths and a tentative fourth I'd have to somehow password lock - because you'd need numbers from the other paths to open it? I wanted to make a fake super edition cover for Dreadstar, so here it is! If you would like to see more cats in the au have their own super edition, feel free to ask!

If it were a super edition she would have to learn how to respect other fellow cats, to value other cats opinions on topics and to gain compassion for her clan instead of seeing them as fighting machines. Basically it would mean that she will have to let go of the mindset that she controls everything, including other cats behavior and actions (such as Redpaw/Redstripe (Red Velvet) getting with Crowpaw/Crowstalk (Black Raisin) or Graystream giving Skyclan herbs to help aid their issue with whitecough)

My sweet fuzzy government assigned name baby. Nutface is from ShadowClan, an easily panicked fuzzball who tries her best despite the awkward cards she was dealt. Short, but skinny lower legs with a chubby midsection and fur that is near impossible to tame, she’s rather clumsy but is still a hard worker. Her mother is unknown as her father would not reveal it, he loved her but passed away from mysterious circumstances, he loved his daughter but she was too young to truly remember him, so the clan raised her.  Her father had two brothers, the leader Eaglestar, who never had kits of his own and so became a doting uncle to his littermate’s children, and the ambitious deputy Crowstalker. Nutkit grew up in the nursery with her older cousin (Crow’s son, to be named), her best friend Morningkit, and the siblings Wolfkit and Silentkit As she grew older however, her cousin became more nasty towards her, and being a naïve people pleaser, Nutface would spend a lot of her time trying to please her cousin and win his favor, but to no avail. Even when she had Morningsun, Wolfeyes, and Silentstep, she longed for her old friendship with her kin,  Things would only continue to worsen, as her cousin would soon force his way up to leader in due time.  I apologize for @ing but again, credit is due to the sweet @acorn-treess for giving me the ideas for Nut’s colors, ive fallen hard in love with them.  Hope yall like her!
