Hello! 👋 Too shy to come off anon, but LOVING the fic so far! I have a question about it

What made you decide to have King Candy's Cy-bug instincts so easily suppressable? Does it relate to his urge to have to control everything, even his own other half?

Thank you!!! 💖 And to be perfectly honest, it's because making his Cy-bug half too strong (instinctually I mean, lmao) was too difficult to seamlessly incorporate into the story I wanted to tell, and I'm lowkey a lazy writer, so I mostly made it easy for him to ignore because that was easier for me to handle in terms of storytelling, lmao. That being said, I do think it also somewhat works for his character, like you and somebody else I know has mentioned, his overwhelming need to control things could have a lot to do with him being pretty good at squashing down any unwanted feral-ness, and another person also pointed out that him being part of a group (ergo, forced to socialize a lot and maintain some sort of "reputation") gives him more of a reason to keep his instincts in check, whereas Sinistar can let loose whenever the hell he wants since he doesn't gaf about that stuff, lol.

So the short answer is, I did it for the sake of making it easier to write things the way I want to, but I also think there are enough internal and external factors that means KCB being able to control himself makes enough sense on its own. (And besides, it's not like he doesn't struggle with it at all, but it probably would've made more sense with the canon of the movie if I made his bug instincts harder for him to control. Oh well though, I'm doing it my way regardless 😂)

SO I WAS SCREENSHOTTING A BUNCH OF WEIRD GLITCHY TURBO SCENES IN SLO MO. AND I NOTICED THAT IN THE CYBUG FORM WHEN HE GLITCHES FROM KING CANDY TO TURBO IN THE WIDE SHOTS, TURBO'S FACE LITERALLY IS A SKULL??? MORE EVIDENCE FOR THE SKULL MOTIF!!

surprised no one’s pointing out the fact that Turbug’s doily collar is randomly no where to be seen (only when his head switches to Turbo) in his death scene when he had it during the fight 🤔

my narsty buge design except I suck at designing bug bodies so I just Didn't

my turbo in general is from an au where the roadblasters incident never happened; roadblasters never got plugged in, so sugar rush became turbo's target . he happened to show up during the Bug Stuff so . this happened . the au's a work in progress ok

turbo was never meant to be compatible with any of hero's duty's code, so being combined with the bug partially corrupted his code .

this caused very uncomfortable tile transformations in his face among other things (the bugging of his sprites prevent him from putting his tongue back in his mouth, yikes) . his personality is mostly the same somehow but just a bit more violently-inclined . blurgh
