Hello and welcome to the 'make alien designs a little more alien' redesign portion of the drawing spree, this one comes at the end of the 12 hours not because I wanted to finish at a round 12 hours but because my pen died halfway through my last drawing of the night and this was the last completed drawing- I made necrofriggians/Big Chill more moth-like :)

Going from the bi-quad shoulders of Rixie I gave Chill those same arms and since he's significantly more bug-like it looks more buggy rather than quadrupedal, plus I gave him a little thorax. Fur of course was an obvious edition to the base of his wings (nice insulation) but I also modified his anntenae to be of the fluffy variety and have like a fur hood :P I didn't want to significantly change his proportions since the cloaked figure is such an iconic look for him so I kept that in mind-

Had a dream where Marcille made a Totk-esque dragon version of herself that she could summon and switch her mind to for various reasons.

Ramblings about the dream and art process below:

In the dream the main reason was to protect herself (and furina who was also there for some reason??) from an assassination attempt. Technically she succeeded because she didn't die BUT it was only because her mind and soul were evenly split between the dragon body and her body which was able to somehow keep them both alive.

Furina died tho rip to a queen I guess (tho technically she was already dead shes basically puppeting her own corpse literally all the time according to the dream, like her body is "alive" but her soul is in her gem thingy so she can "die" but as long as she has the gem she can resurrect herself infinitely and basically live forever, so to "kill" her they took the gem and are basically waiting for her body to expire, they can't break it cuz the gem is indestructible)

It was a weird dream all in all but I liked some of the designs, I have a doodle of furinas I might clean up. There was also a sense of unease for every character- Link was there too- and they all recognized they weren't supposed to be here and that the world around them was wrong. Like they could see that the logic didn't make sense, and that they shouldnt be able to do the things they do (furina resurrection and Marcille dragon)

But it wasn't a they are in a dream scenario (even tho yeah they were lol) they were taken from their world to a real place but that place was just wrong

I realized another specific thing I don't like about people asking me for patterns: the idea that there is One Specific Way to crochet something.

This is part of a broader issue I have about the distinction between crafts and arts that I think about a lot, but in this particular context, I don't like the idea of people restricting themselves and refraining from experimenting with crochet because they think there is a Right way or only One way to make something. What pattern? Just look at the thing I made (which by the way, in asking immediately for the pattern you're kind of devaluing this art piece I've made as some kind of trinket you should also possess, but that's a slightly different issue) and make your own thing like it. Even if you followed my notes exactly, you wouldn't have the same exact result as mine unless you had my exact tension, yarn, and physical quirks of crocheting. I don't even have the same result following my own notes in subsequent crochets because it's all slightly different each time. You would have something that looks similar to mine but is your own, and that's something you could achieve just by trying to make your own thing from the get go. Doesn't require a pattern.

Use your eyes, work stitch by stitch and row by row. If it's as you think and there is only one correct way to do it, then you can try and figure it out. Doesn't require a pattern. If it's not as you thought and there are actually multiple ways to do it, then you'll find a way as you try. Didn't require a pattern. Either way, pattern not actually needed.

listen i am geralt of rivia hater number one but one thing i actually CANNOT stand is when the fandom mischaracterizes him. took one look at this man who speaks very straight-forwardly and matter-of-fact and is a little recalcitrant with his words sometimes and went "haha he communicates in grunts! man who only says 'hm'!" and then won't even write him to speak in full fucking sentences. hello???? hello???????? yes the netflix show was a bad influence on everybody because they were trying too hard to depict geralt as a stoic manly badass but we CANNOT let that distract us from the REAL thing to make fun of geralt for. which are his Constant Unprovoked Monologues

Because I have crocheted So Many Toys over my children, and I am thinking it's time to go back to sewing for awhile, but I should also stop rampantly making toys without homes to send them to. So. Inspired by Judith Chrisman's pattern, modified to match three (3) Very Particular good boys. These took much longer to finish than I anticipated (who knew trying to paint coat patterns with yarn in duplicate stitch was so tricky?!), but I'm very pleased with the results!

Ik genjis fleshy bits that he still has are conventionally attractive for selling and character appeal reasons but I really do appreciate the idea of him having heavy scar tissue around his face. I like art that depicts the pure engineering and scientific marvel that he is. The way his organic blends in with his mechanical as processors and pumps are constantly at work to keep him alive. Love the idea of him customizing as he got use to it, accepted it more. Like to think that his lower jaw doesn't move when he talks, in fact his jaw is completely able to be removed and the only thing needed to communicate is his voice box, customized and attuned to change to the strength of the hue on his visor depending on how loud he wants to be.

He'd take the time for repairs and check ups to meditate and love his body as he polishes the metal along with his swords, use it to think about how far he's come. Because he loves his body, prays about it, appreciates it, takes care of it.

first art post of the new year!!! granted, i don't share my art here that much anyway, but– shhh.

hehehehhhooo,, here's something i've been working on for 'bout a month,, albeit not consecutively– took a few,, very very long breaks in between working on this,, but i managed to finish it in the end! am i satisfied with it? .......ehhhh? not completely, but if this took any longer, it might not have seen the light of day, so like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

anyway,, made a little poster for my favorite fic, tommyinnit's services for villains, vigilantes, and various other vagabonds, by @scorpionoesit!!! it's really really good,,, and i've always wanted to make more art for it,, so i decided– poster! at least,, that's what it's mean to resemble,,, dkdmkdmdkd.

i will freely admit,, i'm... not the biggest fan of the fan-made logo i tried to design for it,, feels a bit boring, and could definitely have used a bit more pizazz, something to make feel more like the fic itself(what does that mean? you figure that out),,,, but– again, steam was running low,, dkdnksjs. graphic design is my passion. i do also have other complaints, but i'm afraid i already punched my one-use self-critique card,, oh well,,, dkdnkxjdkd.

regardless,, even with the flaws only i can really see,, this still turned out pretty okay!! hope you enjoy it, mx. scorpio and mx. alibi!!! and i hope everyone else has a wonderful new year!!!!
