I know this is an improper use of this meme format, but

I’m honestly tired of Tumblr Dot Com users trying to promote CDs, DVDs, and BDs are the best way to “own your media” in 2024. They’re not. They never were. They never will be. (You stupid sluts.)

With the exception of M-Discs. M-Disc BDs, and the even rarer format (M-Disc DVDs), are adequate for archiving. In fact, it’s what they’re designed to do. But good luck finding some that won’t blow the bank. And they’ll most likely be 128 GB or less, so you’re still better off just running two cheap Walmart HDDs in parallel.

Digimon Savers (Tokuten Eizou)

So...this is a little DVD commentary thingy that exists. To be honest it was pretty lazy. Just a bunch of battles slapped together with the 3 main mons talking over it. Cute concept, but they didn't have much interesting to say other than "look how cool we are!" The one interesting thing I took out of it is that they alluded to the fact that Kurata might still be alive somewhere??? WHAT!? (I mean...they never said he was dead, but that's unsettling). I wonder if any of this was improv. I felt bad for Lalamon because seeing all her scenes side by side didn't really look good for her...

There was a tiny bit of new animation at the beginning and end but it was pretty minimal. Just picture the image above with lip flaps and eye movements.

Also like. I'm very very much a creature of habit and I've had the same morning routine more or less since I was twelve. Make coffee watch YouTube eat breakfast after the first cup of coffee. But the internet is down after the fire and our living room is currently taken up by two loud ass air purifiers so I'm stuck drinking coffee in my bedroom with only Phone YouTube instead of TV YouTube and it's such a tiny concern in the grand scheme but. It is still annoying.

#I'm lucky I have an apartment to sleep in and coffee to make #I'm lucky I still have unlimited data so I'm not fully offline rn #We have dvds and an antenna for exactly this kinda issue I'll just have to move the TV into our bedroom later #Like it's fine. I'm fine. But it's easier to be annoyed by little things than to think about. Yknow. All of it.#Ummm if anyone has tips for cleaning smoke damage/smell/etc out of fabric and furniture though. I'll take it.

Ok, I have a probably very dumb question. I'm looking at buying blank DVDs that I can burn some movies onto. They all say they have a 4.7GB capacity with up to 120 minutes of playback. The thing is, many of my video files are well under 4.7GB but over 120 minutes. Is the 120 minutes just an estimate of what will fit, or is it a hard limit on the disk?
