i would recommend daniel bjarnason, daniel wohl, greg reason, ektoise, the black dog, as well as andy stott and floating points; who are definitely more structured and approaching the electronic side of ambient but they both provide a harsh and pulsating sound. i have synaesthesia and stott gives me the same kind of palette to tim hecker so i associate them lol. theres also third coast percussion's fields though thats definitely more on the melodic spectrum

I’ll definitely give the others a listen but I LOVE Andy Stott.

And I associate that artist with Tim Hecker too— it’s that similar sort of feeling and that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
