Take a look at this free CAD software. All you have to do is sign up to a free account. It uses the direct modeling method of CAD. So if you are familiar with polygon modeling. You should be able to adapt to it fairly easily. Then you can output your creations as a STL and 3D print them. Been playing with it and I like it. It pretty cool.
