I like the look and the feel of this method a lot.#In case anyone out there was wondering what the original doodle the Cowboy Wizard Jousting comic was - it was this!#I had indended it to stay a sketchbook doodle but I kept thinking about it - and figured 'why not also use it to do an art experiment?'#The funny thing about using existing characters for this is that this isn't even that far off from what they actually are.#The original pitch for the setting of FFS was 'Cowboy Exorcists'. Which sort of just makes them Cowboy Wizards in a way.#Design wise all I really did here was give them sillier hats.#Fitch isn't boy enough for the boy to be more than a carry over from 'cowboy'#But our Nameless Nobody? Yeah. They earned that Coward Badge good and true.#I have a few more doodles from this (AU? I guess?) That I may post if I'm low energy this week.#I missed drawing these little fellas. I should budget my art time to draw them more often...

started with the headcanon that drift hung around the clinic like a feral wet cat for a while, then halfway through shading these, I started thinking, what if deadlock was an especially reliable assassin because he knew what kind of damage would make sure that even the best of the best couldn't bring you back

A few notes of my thoughts:

kris wears a turtleneck sweater bc. Bc i think itd be cute thats all (i should consider fingerless gloves for them too...

Susie lizard freckles. Noelle deer freckles. Different textured freckles. But freckles nonetheless

Berdlys glasses pinch to his beak (why would it have halters when he literally doesnt have ears it could hold onto

Noelle has bells on her dark world robe. Jingle jingle

Leather shoulder pauldron for susie... girl pls wear at least a little armor if youre gonna be the tank (i drew the strap too low lol its supposed to go over the top of her chest and under her armpit... oopsie

I drew kris' pauldrons on the wrong side oops imagine its on the other shoulder

Kris would have a lot of pouches bc i mean look at the amount of junk we make them carry around lmao

Heart shaped knee pads & breastplate

Ralsei also has pouches bc i think hed be the mom friend who has all the essentials in it (compared to kris who has a bunch of random shit in their inventory lol
