My take on a redesign for Athena! I like her canon design just fine but I made a few tweaks to cater it more to character design aspects I like to draw. Plus I’ve just got a personal preference against wearing tights (I hate the texture) so I gave her pants.

And tbh if I could hear so well that I could hear people’s emotions I’d be wearing noise-cancelling headphones all the time. Sure, it’s a useful ability in court, but not when you’re trying to go to bed or just…get groceries or something.

But anyway I love Athena and I want to draw her more, so I did this as a way to figure out how I wanted to draw her

Hey, can u do Tsunami?!

Of course I can! Here's my Tsunami redesign:

I don't often do these and question whether or not I've finally strayed so far off canon that the character is unrecognizable, but Tsunami's redesign is so crazy I'm actually scared for my life. I have a lot of explaining to do.

First and foremost, all of the dominant colors have been changed: Tsunami now rocks green undertones (inherited from Gill) (R.I.P) and some orange scales, which she would have received from (redesigned) Queen Coral who has coral colors in my head. In an effort to make these contrasting colors work, I lightened them a lot and made her main scale color a deep navy! The parental similarities don't stop there: Tsunami has coral-shaped horns and extra webs on her talons and tail, along with some big frills on her spine. I also moved her glowing scales to be predominately on her underbelly + forearms/webs, as I thought it was more harmonious with those lighter colors. And I gave her the chubbiness she deserves: her build now reflects her strength as a fighter!

Finally, Tsunami's dominant patterns are swirls and waves, meant to resemble a literal Tsunami or curl of a wave. I think this design suits her much more, and gives her a first impression that truly matches her character.

IM SO DISAPPOINTED IN PEARLS DESIGN IN THE NEWER GAMES

like one thing i really like about aa is its attention to details in the character design, especially in the original trilogy, but they were so lazy with pearls design.

i was so excited to see how theyd portray her when shes grown up. its always my biggest pet peeve when they age up characters and they still sort of infantalise them.

anyway, i did a redesign. as a miniscule detail i gave her mias earrings. something that i thought would be so interesting is pearl idolising mia more with the lack of proper role models in her life. ALSO IN THE PW TRILOGY WHEN SHE WANTED LONG HAIR LIKE MAYA WHY DIDNT THEY ADD THAT IT WAS RIGHT THERE????

Girl help, Xmen redesigns have consumed my brain.

This is a little au I'm cooking, I call it the blue family au because well, reasons...I mean they're all blue....anyway in this au Mystique and Irene are wives and adopt Rogue together, a couple years later they join the Xmen (I'm basing myself off of the days of future past saga where Raven was an active part of the Xmen and Charles adoptive sibling) Raven is both genderfluid and polyamorous so when they meet Hank they fall in love (again, I blame days of future past) Hank and Irene have more of a queer platonic relationship in which they both care a lot about Raven, the kids and each other. They consider eachother extremely close friends, after that arrives Kurt, biologically he's Hank and Raven's son so he has more cat like features but he was pretty much raised by Irene and Raven away from the mansion in Germany to keep him safe until his mutant gene activates and he starts bamf!-ing around. Rogue had already manifested her mutant genes so she stayed in the mansion with papa Hank. Irene, Raven and Kurt visit regularly tho, specially during the holidays. When Kurt's bamfs start to happen, he and his two moms move back to the Xmen mansión and it's a nice happy family reunion. The end.....I just want them to be happy oughh

banshee-44, according to... well, me.

really the only things that irk me about his design are his colors and his outfit, primarily the latter. considering how filthy his workshop is, and how gruff and grumpy he seems, i'd expect to find this guy elbow deep in gun parts 24/7. he gives mechanic vibes ya know? dingy and covered in oil and grease and scraped up to hell from working with his hands for traveler-knows-how-many decades. those bright colors and swaddling clothes just don't suit his personality, i think. he gives "personable, tough-love bartender", if that makes sense. like you could lean on his counter late at night and get into those deep conversations, really talk about some serious stuff. ya know? ya know?!?!?!?!

also that thousand-yard stare. i know this guy's been through a lot, if anyone should space out it's him, but. damn.

anyway. i just think this version is more pleasing, idk about y'all. just though i'd share. i love banshee-44 regardless. love you banshee, 'preciate ya.

Starflight has been, without uncertainty or doubt, my favorite DoD for many years now. His autistic splattability has captured my intrigue and my heart.

I'll have to infodump about him and the Others some other time, but as of right now do what you will with the imagery I have shared.

two people ( @emeralddragonparagon and indigo) requested Glory this week, so here she is! thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support for these designs :3 they really took off!

Glory's design was a little difficult but very rewarding! I wanted to design her to fit with the present day in wof, where she's been queen for a little while and had time to settle in + grow into her role. She has a green/brown crown that fits under her ears, as well as some layered beaded jewelry which are inspired by the Uth Duna outfit from Monster Hunter Wilds. I wanted to make her look more regal/royal than she currently does, so I used a lot of patterns on top of the accessories.

For her scales, I liked the idea of Glory's pattern alluding to her somewhat prickly personality from the first arc, as well as leaving traces of her friends in her design - a sun on her shoulder, water-like patterns on part of her wing, amber/brown talons etc... it would be nice if Glory presented her scales with them in mind, considering she doesn't get to see the other DoD often.
