Ok i am so confused about Beyond. Was it JUST that short during digicon, or are we getting another movie/series/whatever and the short we saw was like the trailer for it?? Bc i keep hearing that Beyond is something that's in production, then I hear that after the Beyond short aired that was THE final bit of Digimon Adventure we were ever gonna get.

Beyond is a PV (promotional video) to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Adventure franchise. On August 1st 2024, they released a similar video with Butter-fly by Kouji Wada as the background music, while it did feature some newer animation and scenes, in essence it was just a look back on the Adventure series as a whole.

When Beyond's production was announced afterwards, it was shared that since the 25th Anniversary's celebrations for Adventure and beginning of the entire franchise will be coming to an end in March 2025, this will be a work which will commemorate the legacy of the series. They approached Kakudou, Director of Adventure and 02 to work on it, and he obliged.

As shared in the note released on the Anime website, there is a back story to the development of the Beyond video which will be released gradually in parts. From what has been shared with us so far, yes the content of the video is based on stuff that didn't make the final cut in the epilogue of 02, but the key word here is "based on". It doesn't imply that it is a scene by scene copy of the original story boards. As this video is supposed to celebrate 25 years of Adventure, they have included nods to series such as Tri and 02TB, which we know were not planned when the original storyboards were created for 02's Epilogue.

The Beyond video which was uploaded on 20th March 2025 is the final product as of now. No information has been shared anywhere whether we will get anything more in relation to that. Kakudou has shared on his blog that as far as he can see, this is the final Digimon Adventure related content he will contribute to, but that is his personal view.

People can speculate whether the popularity of Beyond may lead to a series or another movie continuation of Kizuna/02TB being developed but that is once again, just speculation.

Tl;dr, Beyond is a promotional celebratory video meant to be taken as a tribute to the 25 years of the Digimon Adventure franchise.

I don't know what I was expecting from Survive (not much because of digicon 2022 and being hooked on ReArise), but it wasn't a "we live in a society" game. It was all the better for it.

Anyway, happy new year eve or happy first day of 2024. Let's look forward to survive week in a month and to me tagging my drafts.

Novo jogo de Digimon? Bandai Namco pede paciência aos fãs

Já faz seis anos que a Bandai Namco anunciou o desenvolvimento de um novo jogo de história de Digimon, mas até agora nada. E depois da saída do produtor que era responsável pela série da empresa, muita gente começou a questionar se isso significaria o fim do projeto. Bom, aparentemente, não.

Conforme reportado pelo Gematsu, durante a DigiCon 2024, a companhia reforçou seu compromisso com o título. Porém, ao mesmo tempo, frisou que os fãs precisarão esperar mais um pouco até que haja novidades concretas sobre a obra.

“Pedimos desculpas por fazer os fãs esperarem, mas pedimos sua paciência até estarmos prontos para compartilhar mais informações”, disse um representante da companhia.

O último game do gênero com a franquia foi Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, que saiu no fim de 2017 no japão e no começo de 2018 no resto do mundo. Em 2022, foi lançado Digimon Survive, com gameplay baseado em batalhas táticas.

Kazumasa Habu escreveu uma mensagem nas suas redes sociais para falar do seu afastamento da série.

Devido a mudanças de pessoal dentro da [Bandai Namco Entertainment], eu não serei mais o produtor dos jogos de Digimon. Na verdade, eu não ocupo esse cargo desde abril do ano passado e tenho silenciosamente passado o bastão. Por favor, fiquem tranquilos que o novo jogo Digimon Story continua em desenvolvimento sob a direção confiável de sua equipe.
