extremely important birthday update this is not a drill i received sofubi finger puppet bandee figurine!!!! i have had my eye on this one for some time but it's been very hard to get in my country!

i also received other fantastic gifts (including a matching magolor sofubi to go with bandee... of course... 🍎 and a 30th anniversary necklace with the lor's wing on it!) which i may talk about later if folks wouldn't find that annoying, but this is the one i screamed about the most!

Story time! But the sheer number of stars the universe had to align to have this out-of-print Vietnamese version of the Kazetsuyo novel end up in my collection is ABSOLUTELY WILD and so I am feeling quite あああああああ～about it?! Like no, you do not understand? Setting aside the fact that I had made three attempts in the past to try and obtain it and failed, to have it serendipitously, out of nowhere, make its way to me under a string of improbable coincidences involving people of three degrees of separation (aka: the brother of a friend's friend, whom I do not know) still leaves me much in awe with the mysterious way the universe conspires to make things happen. Also, who would have thought that after all this time, when my attempts in NORTHERN Vietnam (Hanoi) had led to a dead end and I had already come to terms with possibly never obtaining it, the answer was in SOUTHERN Vietnam (Dalat) waiting to be found?

i would be too scared to message him to be honest. he seems like a nice guy but if i found out i bothered TOM FULP????? idk what i would do with myself. but if i look hard enough on the wayback machine i can probably find photos of vintage merch the thing about that is some of the images are broken.
