La casa del libro

En esos tiempos de antes de Internet, para documentarte ibas a La casa del libro, una librería de Madrid con cuatro plantas y sótano (sigue existiendo, pero no se parece en nada). En la planta tercera estaban los libros técnicos. Allí podías encontrar lo que buscaras sobre soldaduras, centrales nucleares, minería y riego por goteo. Estaban todos los libros que se usaban en diferentes FP o carreras técnicas ordenados por temas.

Cuando yo empezaba a traducir era una complicación tremenda, porque eran libros carísimos. Así que muchas veces los compraba, los usaba con un cuidado infinito y una semana después los devolvía: «Mi padre dice que se ha equivocado de libro». Con ese dinero, me compraba otro para otra traducción.

En la planta sótano estaban los diccionarios y los libros de lengua, que también eran un placer, pero la verdad que siempre me han gustado más los libros técnicos que los diccionarios.
