The project is located in Balvanera, a central neighbourhood of Buenos Aires that presents a heterogeneous built profile with a strong commercial presence and an identity characterised by cultural diversity. This pattern is further consolidated when understanding its direct link with the building of the Argentine National Congress, with the large number of hotels distributed throughout the area or with the Miserere Square, that acts as a hub for trains, buses and subways. Balvanera could be interpreted as a neighbourhood of national identity.

Architecture as identity. The assignment originates from the clients' need to have administrative offices in new building that determines their identity as an institution. These offices had to be complemented by apartments to be used by people travelling from the provinces of Argentina to Buenos Aires for a certain period of time. Among the clients' initial demands was the use of a glass façade as an image towards the city, which for us was an essential part of the initial program.

The potential of mixed uses. The initial idea was to locate work and domesticity in the same block. This option was rapidly discarded after the first tests when the incompatibility of the circulation dynamics was verified. Taking advantage of the long proportion of the site (7.60 x 47.60 m) it was then decided to divide the uses into two independent blocks: the office one in the front, more exposed to the street and the domestic one in the back, more reserved in the centre of the block. In this way, a daily relationship is generated between all the people who inhabit the building while providing privacy in each of the parts.

Adapt to the given conditions. Both blocks adjust their buildable profile to the limits determined by the internal front line. This imaginary line is determined by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires to delimit a non-buildable area in the centre of the block. Instead of looking for alternatives to deal with this restriction, the project adapts to the resulting silhouette. In this way, two individual blocks are proposed to take advantage of all the possible footprint and are developed with the necessary height to deal with the proposal.

The void as a meeting place. Both building blocks are connected through a central void that works as a meeting point. This void is projected through a garden of organic shapes, white stones and growing vegetation that aims to generate meeting places for the people who work and inhabit the building.

Versatile and timeless from the beginning. The office block is planned on four levels with open spaces that allow to deal with the constant changes in today's work dynamics. Each level has outdoor spaces materialised by balconies on the lower floors and a terrace on the upper floor. The domestic block is also planned on four levels but made up of two stacked duplex apartments. Each one of them operates as an individual unit designed with the minimum elements necessary to be temporarily inhabited.

How to be efficient in the Argentine context. In an economic context as complex and variable as the Argentine one, it is necessary to be rational and efficient in the materialisation of architecture. In that sense, the construction of the building is proposed in a synthetic and traditional way through the implementation of few elements, but optimising their use. To do this, we proposed a reinforced concrete skeleton and lightweight masonry walls, textured white anodised aluminium frames in the windows and airtight double glazing for greater thermal efficiency. In this way, we make it easier to deal with suppliers while achieving efficiency and durability in the use of the elements.

A new way of perceiving the environment. Faced with a complex and heterogeneous urban context, the project is created from synthesis as contrast. Pure lines, geometric composition and white elements characterise a building that aims to communicate order and timelessness.

New Quirk Name: Measure Up

This Emitter type Quirk allows the user to grow out a translucent barrier around their body. The user can then increase the size of themselves with the barrier, able to make them up to thirty feet tall at their greatest size. This offers a drastic increase in their personal strength and durability, letting them smash through concrete at max high. The user can be selective with this, like expanding their arm to make it larger or stretching it out to reach something further away. This can even work on objects the user is touching, causing them to grow in size with them or growing it on it's own. Thanks to moving them with the barrier, the user is able to wield these with ease. Anything removed from this barrier will return to its original size, either it is dropped or launched from the barrier. This gives the user a powerful Quirk for combat, their increase in size granting them far greater power. They can wield giant weapons, break down enemy defenses, stretch out their body for various attacks, block attacks with their body, or simply make themselves taller. However, stretching out the barrier too much will cause it to pop, returning everything to the original size. The barrier can be undone through damage as well, being made easier the more the barrier is stretched out, and cannot be applied to other people. The user can cause a lot of damage by accident.

Background

Born into a dying world, Byron never had the luxury of peace. His parents, the mutants known as Gambit and Rogue, were some of the last defenders of the Wasteland, fighting to protect what little remained. When they died, Logan took him in, teaching him how to fight, how to survive, and most importantly, how to keep going even when everything was gone.

He avoids them whenever possible, unable to reconcile the ghosts he loved with the strangers who wear their faces. 

Jubilee: The first mutant he met at the institute shortly after her return from Generation X to the X-Men. The two swapped stories of their respective Logans. He is probably ‘closest’ to her.

JJK Chapter 253 Action Guide

Chapter 253 on TCB

A LOT happened this chapter, and this post will be mostly focused on describing the action sequences.

Maki and Sukuna continue their 1v1 throughout the city. Sukuna fires a world dismantle that Maki jumps over and clashes with Sukuna. He's likely reinforcing his body with cursed energy, which is what produces the clang sounds with Maki's blade. I've seen others say that Sukuna uses dismantles to parry swords as well. The dismantle that Sukuna fired hit the building behind them and begins to fall.

Sukuna continues defending against Maki's slashes, locking them both in position, and the building falls where they stand.

I surmise this building was a car garage? That or these cars were on the street already. Sukuna and Maki both dodge the fallen building in time. Maki dodges the cars and Sukuna appears behind one to catch her off guard. Sukuna used these same tactics against Gojo: obscuring his opponent's vision to get an upperhand on them.

I love this idea that Sukuna doesn't fight fair when he's serious!

Maki still sees him and the dismantle he's firing behind the car.

Maki dodges the dismantle, but the car explodes and sends her flying into the building across the street. (I think it's funny Sukuna's ancient ass was counting on a car exploding to help him lmao).

Sukuna races through the building to come behind Maki. He's fast!

Sukuna catches Maki and immediately cleaves her! Maki's fighting back but Sukuna's keeping her at bay with his other two hands.

Ino attempts to intervene but Sukuna quickly sends dismantles at him.

Sukuna kicks Ino again and notices that Ino didn't attack with Nanami's weapon.

Ino falls out the window and Kusakabe attempts an ambush from above. Kusakabe crashes through the ceiling and on top of Sukuna!

Sukuna reacts in time and blocks the attack with his arm. Sukuna begins to pick up Kusakabe, but Maki is seen running back into frame in the last panel.

Maki bomb rushes Sukuna through the wall into a new room. Within moments, she's reached Sukuna again as he's flying mid-air. She aims for the pillar Sukuna's flying towards after her initial rush. Maki's so fast that it startles Kusakabe, and he only sees the end of her cape!

Maki connects to the pillar in time and sends a shockwave so powerful that it throws Sukuna again! He hits yet another pillar.

Maki goes to work slicing up the pillars around her as Sukuna recovers from her attack. This all must happen in literal moments, given the few panels all the action takes!

Maki begins to launch the cut concrete with her feet towards Sukuna, but he's now awakened and seen her strength. Sukuna has become even more serious. Maki has dodged all of his dismantles and his cleave seemingly had no effect on her, as she's faster than before.

Sukuna gives up on using his usual cleave and dismantle, stops healing himself with rct, and focuses all of his cursed energy into physical reinforcement. Maki was going faster than him and he needed to catch up! He disappears the literal instant the concrete projectiles began flying towards him.

Sukuna quickly grabs Maki and pushes her through the building. This is not a cleave, as it's not the crisscross pattern, nor does it have the cleave onomatopoeia that denotes that specific CT. At this point, Sukuna has decided that his CT will not cut it to defeat Maki, this monster before him! He must match her physical prowess or she will continue to overtake him.

Sukuna tears part of Maki's flesh from her face, reflecting his ideas about flesh and bone. Interestingly enough, Maki's so durable that Sukuna can only manage to tear the flesh from her skin, but he refers to her power as the bone. Foreshadowing something?

My theory that Sukuna and Maki are foils is proven to be true by Sukuna's words here. He respects Maki as the embodiment of physical strength, while he is the ultimate model for jujutsu.

They both fall from the sky and onto the street yet again.

Maki reacts to a full speed and fully powered Sukuna attempting to overwhelm her speed and strength with his own. She strikes with SSK, but Sukuna blocks it yet again. (Is he blocking these or is he just suffering the damage?

Again, he grabs her SSK by using cleaves to avoid it's damage so she can't swing it while he prepares his punch.

Confirmation that Sukuna was 100% serious and in the zone against Maki as he lands his first black flash in the entire series. Maki blocks it with her hand, covering her stomach from the blow.

The blow sends Maki flying away through the rail.

Poor Kusakabe.

Thank you so so much for all of these wonderful words <3 Sorry this took me so long to answer. The week go away from me but I've finally gotten a good afternoon to answer. I'm gonna answer for Ethan and Adam and it kind of turned into a ficlet about just one object.

It doesn't come as a surprise to Ethan that no matter where he looks around Wayhaven, he finds things that remind him of Adam. What does surprise him are the things that catch his attention. Logic says every gray t-shirt or pair of sunglasses would be the likely culprits but instead today it's passing by an old building made from simply but solidly hand carved stone blocks. From a distance the lines seem perfectly straight, ordered row after ordered row forming an unmovable wall. It's only when one gets close that they can see the undulations in the joints, the individual chisel marks that make each block unique. For how many centuries did people pass their skill down from one to another? It's entirely possible that the man who made the blocks in Wayhaven would have used the same techniques as the man who built the keep that Adam grew up in.

Stone is a strong durable material. It's heavy and difficult for most to move or change, but in the right hands it can be made useful and accessible. The truly talented artists can turn the hard surface into soft pliable flesh, or at least the illusion of it. Stone cannot stop being a stone after all.
