I think it's possible that Arnold worked at MCM and was fired by Edwin
Before Secret of the Mimic came out, Steel Wool sent a surprise box to several YouTubers. It contained merch, but also included a teaser of a dismissal letter, a Spring Bonnie bobblehead, and a cork version of the van from the game.
Fuhnaff was the first to receive this box, and when he showed it to us, we were all in awe of what was inside. I even ventured a theory that William Afton had worked for Murray's Costume Manor and that it was Edwin who fired him.

We know this isn't the case at all, but it was the only thing that made sense to me at the time when I saw the Spring Bonnie bobblehead. However, with the first gameplay videos from several YouTubers who were able to upload the video the day before, we learned that the bubblehead and the van belonged to Arnold.
This puzzled me quite a bit, since I did think it belonged to William, since, as is well known, Spring Bonnie is the animatronic most closely associated with Afton.
Rereading the termination letter and learning that the Digi Typer was what we called "Mail-Bot," I realized this letter couldn't have been after Secret of the Mimic. It was obvious that Edwin signed it, and he's missing (or dead), but it could still be said that Fazbear signed for him.
But this isn't possible because they return the bubblehead to us in one piece, and the Digi Typer also types. After the ending, which I believe is canon (the one with the fire), the bubblehead ends up destroyed, and Jackie also destroys the Digi Typer.
So, how deeply involved was Arnold in Murray's Costume Manor?
I think he was pretty deep.
We're told to hand over the Data Diver, and at the beginning of Secret of the Mimic, we don't have one. Dispatch told us that Ritchie had put one in our briefcase just in case.
The curious thing is that when Arnold picks up the Data Diver, he seems familiar with it, as if he'd owned one before.
Now, there's something that doesn't add up, and it's the van. The van has the Fazbear Entertainment logo, and the box version does too. So why would Arnold have something to do with Fazbear Entertainment if he works at Murray's Costume Manor?
@moon-latte-cake told me it's plausible that he worked at both places, which is why he seems so busy.
Latte's theory continues that being too busy would lead to his being fired by Edwin for lack of performance.
I think it would be interesting and would explain why the van but Murray's Costume Manor seems to have collapsed a while ago, and Arnold is still busy.
I really like this theory too, Latte 😉
Someone on Twitter posted a tweet saying the following:
"Is it possible Arnold worked at MCM and that's why his bobblehead is there? Was he fired for being a Fazbear's mole? Otherwise, there'd be a FE van on his desk."

He mentions that maybe Arnold was a mole for Fazbear and that's why he was fired. This is crazy, but what if William Afton's email to an employee is directed at him?

It's crazy, I know. Especially since there's a "Ralph" who could be our Ralph (Phone Guy), and this email is most likely addressed to him. But what if it was addressed to Arnold?
Whether it was our Ralph or Arnold, I don't think William will follow through on that "manage one of the new locations" thing. William lies a lot in an attempt to manipulate. In the other email, he tells Edwin to stay calm, that he won't touch his parents' house, when he'll literally use that house as the entire experimentation and observation site we see in FNaF 4 and the Sister Location map.
Could William have contacted Arnold to leak information?
I don't know, but I think it would be interesting to consider.
Another theory is that he may have been fired for running over David. @animationstarlover1983 says there's a possibility Arnold killed David, so it would make sense for David's ghost to appear and haunt him (assuming White Tiger is David's ghost).
This would really be very interesting, to be honest 😉👀
I really don't know what to think about this termination letter, but I believe it does have something to do with Arnold. I still doubt why, but it would be interesting to hear or read more theories about it 🤔
Anyway, if you don't believe it or have a different theory than mine, it's okay because all theories are completely valid until they're confirmed or denied 😉

SOTM SPOILERS AHEAD!!
okay so I’ve seen a few questions about SOTM and how it effects previously established lore and I kinda wanna give my two cents on and try to clarify maybe theorize a little.
“So William and Henry didn’t make the original designs anymore?”
No. They did. At least the ones we know. It’s kind of complicated. Firstly, Fazbear Entertainment and by extension Fredbear’s Family Diner was already an established business when they collaborated with Edwin. So by that logic Fredbear and most likely Springbonnie probably already existed. The prototypes we see of them in the R&D section were supposed to be for the new establishment as this was pre-bite. Both would go on to be reworked/rebranded into new characters being Freddy and Bonnie. Chica and Foxy is where it starts to get a little more muddy. Chica was obviously designed by Fiona, at least her Chica’s party world version. But I think it’s also important to remember that for all of these the Murrays were contracted to make them. Meaning I imagine they were given some kind of description of what they were looking for, hence Chica at first being referred to as the design for the hen animatronic. I imagine that at least the basic idea of there being a chicken animatronic was commissioned by them. With Foxy it’s kind of unclear, we see the puppet version of Foxy and we know Fiona made puppets. We even see she made a pirate wolf/fox of some kind for David. So I see it either being, Foxy was Fiona’s original character but he was put for lease or sale and bought by Fazbearent. OR Foxy specifically and the Foxy pirate stage show we see was made for or in collaboration with FazbearEnt. But regardless of if William and Henry made the original designs or ideas or not they had final say on the versions we know today. They ended up not using Fiona’s designs for the first Freddy Fazbear’s location, which are described as ‘creepy’ by Edwin. Seeing as these animatronics go on to match the style of animatronics we know were designed by William and Henry I think it’s safe to say they had a hand in making the final versions we know from the other games. So yes I do still think the majority of the original gang that we know can still be attributed to Afton and Emily.
“So does this mean that Afton and Henry didn’t make the springlocks?”
As I said before I don’t think so. Fredbear’s was already an established brand. We know that location specifically used Springlocks. I think it’s more likely Henry and William came up with the idea, maybe had some kind of prototype, and worked with Edwin to improve upon the idea or use the technology for new suits that were planned to be at the next location. So it was more likely that all three (or at least Henry and Edwin) worked on the Springlock technology.
“Okay so then what was William Afton after in stealing from Edwin? If he didn’t want the characters or the springlocks what did he want?”
Well, I’m glad you asked. First of all, I believe William was after employees. He was poaching employees from Edwin, we see this implied a couple times throughout. Most likely because he was working on creating Afton robotics at the time and wanted workers for himself. Especially given that Edwin’s business was on a downward spiral and wouldn’t have lasted very long. Secondly, although it’s still debatable if Fazbear entertainment even was sending groups to the factory or if it was the mimic luring employees there the whole time. We know Arnold most likely was tricked and lured there by the mimic. But I think the way Edwin speaks about trying to keep things from them and being betrayed and the fact he puts all his plans so only he can access them does imply William was after something. That something? I believe was not the characters (although FazEnt would end up taking the majority of those too. Although I think that was through a buyout as most of them were for sale or lease and Edwin needed money) but I think he wanted the technology. Think about it. There’s so much stuff we see in Edwin’s factory that seems like it could’ve been used in a lot of the sister location’s technology specifically. 1. There’s the scooper. There’s just.. straight up the scooper. Right there. Edwin made the scooper. I don’t think there’s any debating that. 2. This one might be a bit of a stretch but I can’t help but feel the Tiger sections the mimic acts strikingly similar to how we see Funtime Foxy and Funtime Freddy function. It’s very reminiscent of the way Funtime Foxy reacts to light in the Funtime auditorium section. 3. The most important reason I believe is because of the mimic’s ability to copy voices. Which we see is an ability in some of the Funtime animatronics as well. I mean Funtime Freddy literally has the ability to mimic voices. They outright call it mimicry. Funtime Foxy also has an ability to “Parental voice sync and Replay” which to me sounds like it’s talking about a form of mimicking as well.
To give the TLTR version:
-Original Gang most likely still was William and Henry’s idea at least what animals they should be but they commissioned Fiona for the designs and never ended up using her designs (except for Chica during the Chica’s Party World Era but the Murray’s owned that). Switching to their own designs last minute.
-Springlocks still most likely were invented by Henry and/or William as Fredbear’s existed before Edwin’s partnership with them. The prototypes we see of Fredbear and SpringBonnie were supposed to be for the new location but most likely never got used because of the incident in 83.
-William Afton was still stealing ideas from Edwin even if it wasn’t the animatronics. I believe he was more so after the technology which can be reflected in his later inventions like the Funtime animatronics. He also was most likely poaching employees from Edwin’s dying business to work at Afton Robotics.
I hope this could help clear up or anything about it! I know this is a bit of a yapping fest but I hope it made some sense of things!

SOTM Spoilers + Thoughts
In short I think its better then Ruin when it comes to design, characters, and story (somewhat)
Speaking of story, I came into the game with fear that it was gonna confirm Tales-Games (Which they lucky didn’t except for introducing characters, which is fine. The Sliver Eyes trilogy did that for Henry & Charlie)
The reason why I don’t like the whole “Book Events=Games canon” for Fnaf is because how disconnected, surreal, vague the stories events can be (Exp: Frailty, Under Construction, B7s, and Stitch epilogues)
Which made it hard for non-readers to understand what the hell was happening because these books did so much stuff. At least for me.
It also didn’t help that these books introduced a lot of new characters instead of using any important characters from the games (like Micheal, Henry, or any of the Missing Children from 85’) but I’ll get back to one of them in second.
But back to SOTM, it looks fun and it doesn’t force it self to 100% serious like in Ruin.
I like the characters designs too, they aren’t ment to look like Fazbear’s Jointed animatronics, their suites with little outfits and I just find them neat. Also wish we hear more of Arnold thoughts on things (but then again he was probably tired)
Also think they added the Murray’s pretty well, Like I genuinely love Fionna (I don’t much in the books other then she wasn’t in the picture)
I like how Edwin was too, he not as standoffish as I thought he was gonna be, He sounds like a nice man who genuinely cares for everything he built & Fionna.
And David is David👍
(All I know he dies when 3 & was chill with the Mimic)
Speaking of which I like how now theres 2 mimics
From my understanding of the ending (Ai Fionna is part of the… I think 2nd Mimic and David’s Mimic is the one we see in ruin)
Idk the endings kinda confuses me, but hey I think they were fun.
Now my personal nick picks is how Henry is used (Spoilers he’s like mentioned twice in two separate mail letters) and my worries for future games and how they write for past important characters.
So SOTM confirms that Edwin made Mediocre Melodies, Roxy, Monty, Foxy, and Moon
While Fionna Designed (PW) Chica, which THANK YOU STEEL WOOL FOR MENTIONING “Chica’s Party world.”
But an another thing the game confirms that Edwin made the Springlocks and built the prototypes of Fredbear & SpringBonnie. Sooo~ What the hell is Game Henry doing??? And Why didn’t Scott just used Henry instead bring a new character with a semi-similar backstory???
Because Henry & his family are such under utilized characters in Fnaf, Especially with how interesting their storylines can be.
Like I argue that Henry should play a more important role then just “William’s business partner & Puppet’s dad” cause he was so much more than that in the Sliver Eyes and parts in Pizza Sim, he’s a morally grey (and I mean GREY) man, who was often focused with his projects (Fazbear’s, Bot Charlie, and Killing William) that he fails to see other people, and he’s doesn’t think twice for people like his employees or Micheal. Not because he enjoys hurting them, it’s because they get in the way in his projects.
While the people he is close (including William somewhat) He goes have guilt, he regrets not saving Charlie, he regrets not see his still living family, and he regrets ever letting William hurt his family and other family children. But, he still does questionable things to fix his mistakes. And I find that unique about him. But instead Scott add a new character that really just complicates the story of the games and makes other important characters just kind of useless in away. If that makes sense.
Overall it’s good I’m just worried for what gonna happen with Henry. (If they ever use him for anything…)
But at least they know he exists

What if Fiona had taken care of Mimic?
In this AU, Edwin heeds Fiona's call and decides to accompany her to the Fall Festival.
Edwin arrives at Fiona's stall to help her. David was being cared for by a babysitter. Fiona didn't know Edwin would be visiting the fair, so she suggests bringing her son. Her husband suggests she fetch the boy so he can stay at the stall to help move some things that require strength.
Fiona accepts the proposal and decides to go get David. When she arrives to pick him up, she hears on the radio about the fire at the Fall Festival, where Edwin sadly died.
Days pass, and Fiona still has no idea what her new life as a single mother and managing the family business will be like. Everything changes when she finds Mimic in Edwin's workshop. In a recording made by her husband, he explains that he created Mimic to take care of David so she wouldn't struggle so much anymore.

Mimic is barely aware of this new purpose. Fiona sees him as a baby she'll have to take care of. She doesn't see him as a nanny; she sees him as a son, and she expresses love for him.
As time passes, David and Mimic become very close, like brothers. Mimic begins to imitate his father Edwin's voice. Hearing him speak in her husband's voice, instead of scolding him, Fiona makes him realize that it's not right to imitate her husband's voice or that of someone who has died. She asks him to try to find his own voice so he can find himself, and that he doesn't have to imitate others.
Everything seemed calm. The Murray business was going well. Mimic and David were playing together. But unfortunately, all that changed when Fazbear intervened.

Henry and William wanted to obtain the plans for Edwin's inventions. So they hired "thieves" to steal the documents.
Mimic realized the robbery had happened. He didn't understand why they were doing this. The thieves, horrified, began to be violent toward him, so Mimic fought back. He was about to kill him when Fiona and David arrived to stop him.
Fiona told him that violence wasn't the solution. He should always be kind. Mimic obeyed and freed the robbers. This was a grave mistake, as one of them fired a shot. Fiona, triggering her maternal instinct, stepped in front of him to take the shot and protect Mimic.
Mimic kills the robber who fired the shot. He's about to finish the other off when he hears David crying over his mother's body. Mimic approaches Fiona, who's barely alive.
It was the first time Mimic had seen his mother in that state. She asked him not to seek revenge and instead to take care of David.

The mansion begins to burn, so Mimic is forced to take David away, leaving his mother behind. The thief manages to steal the documents, and although Mimic saw him, he decided to let him go so Fazbear would leave them alone.
The thief hands the documents to Henry and William, he tells them about Mimic but they do not pay attention to it since they believe it is impossible that Mimic and the child could have survived the fire, and besides, they got what they wanted.
Meanwhile, Mimic and David watch from a distance as their home burns down. Now that Fazbear has what he wanted, Mimic knows no one will come after them. He could try to go after Fazbear and retrieve the documents, but he promised Fiona he'd look after David, so he'd let it go until the right time came.
Thanks to growing up with Fiona's kindness, Mimic learned about life and death. He learned to let go of people who are no longer alive. He learned that violence only makes things worse. He learned that you don't always have to imitate others.
Mimic would never try to imitate Fiona to make David happy because he loves him the way he is.
Despite that, the events of FNAF did happen, especially since Henry and William created their own versions of Mimic. So that wouldn't be the last they'd hear of Fazbear.

Ok enough time passed. I finally processed and gathered my thoughts (I think? These may still be subject to change bc I’m very indecisive 🫤)
Uh so um
🚨Spoilers for FNAF Secret of the Mimic!🚨
We good? Ok
So as I mentioned before, I watched Dawko’s gameplay of SotM. And man I gotta say.. first impression overall.. was it was NOT what I was expecting. And that’s not a bad thing.
So I’m gonna try and break it down in sections.
First gameplay.
I haven’t played it myself. Haven’t quite decided yet if I wanna. But from what I saw. Gameplay looked pretty solid. It definitely gave me the vibes of being trapped in some kinda carnival themed haunted house. The gameplay reminded me of a combination of poppy playtime and outlast (again, not bad things as I’m a fan of both franchises, I don’t compare for negative purposes).
The horror aspect was definitely turned up a notch from the last free roam game Security Breach. Which makes sense bc the aura of this one felt more eerie and unsettling than the whimsy that was felt in SB. One reason I feel this could be is bc this place was abandoned. And abandoned buildings tend to have more of an ominous feel than something that isn’t. The chase sequences were a nice touch, especially Jackie and her stretchy limbs, were very disturbing.
For the most part, I can see how this plays similarly to SB, with having the free roam aspect as well as collecting items, listening to tapes, and even the added feature of completing puzzles (I don’t remember if SB had those, I could be misremembering) I did get a bit of Amanda the adventurer vibes too from collecting the film reels that revealed the M1 and the connection to the Murray’s.
The only thing I suppose I could criticize with gameplay is that it sometimes feels a little overwhelming with the exploration aspect. Perhaps it’s my own personal preference of more linear gameplay for things that do have an end goal to be met. And I know that I would probably get lost or forget too many things trying to do all those things at once. It’s not a bad thing it really is just a personal preference thing.
The characters.
Ok I just gotta say. Arnold has gotta be the REALEST protag we’ve ever had in fnaf. Bro was questioning the ENTIRE time why he was even doing this, for a scum bag corporation like fazbear entertainment, literally after completing 30+ hour shifts. FazEnt continues to be absolute SCUM that treats their employees like shit.
Speaking of which, it was nice to see the a bit more into the beginnings of FazEnt, with William and Henry actually CONTRACTING Edwin to make the springlock suits. It sucks that it seems that they were using him to take him for all he was worth in the end, but it also sadly aligns with the characters. Edwin didn’t finish the designs so they made their own (you can tell Edwin’s were FAR more durable).
Also it was REALLY cool to finally get a look at the Murray’s! Edwin really does come off as someone that means well, but he just goes in too deep and puts too much pressure on himself, burying himself in work to where he can’t even care for his son. Fiona was a nice added touch, considering she had died in childbirth in the tales book. And David.. that poor kid. He got a very bad short end of the stick his whole short life.
The new characters were really cool. I do like Jackie’s design even if she scares me shitless (cmon she’s MASSIVE) and i really did like dollie as a character (I IMMEDIATELY clocked Heather masters voice lol) and her molten form was NUTS. Also THE OG CHICA is something I was NOT expecting to see but I love her little roller skates and her food buddies!
Foxy and Roxy being buddies on a pirate crew was neat too! The amount of times I’ve watched the fandom pair them up as a duo, it’s nice to kinda see that get officially confirmed! And to know that truly, Roxy wasn’t actually a foxy replacement (I never thought she was, but again, the confirmation is nice)
Oh and Tiger Rock being kinda an apparition like golden Freddy, that was neat. I still think he’s a goofy looking guy, but he doesn’t seem to have like.. any true malice. (And may be possessed by David? But that’s still to be decided)
Finally, the mimic.
Wow. This really added more to mimics character than what was initially believed, even with Ruin and the Tales books. The mimic is a SCARY antagonist and a FORCE to be reckoned with, and I don’t think that should be ignored or downplayed just bc it’s a “walking stick of metal”
It also seems very clear to me that there is two things happening: the mimic actually taking over the costumes, and the m2 program infecting other machines/animatronics. Bc the mimic CANNOT be in two places at once, and there are times where protag is chased by MULTIPLE things. So yea, I think this pretty much confirms the existence of the m2 virus (for all m1 virus) as seen in the tales story “the storyteller”
Ok.. now the lore.
So obviously, this is derive from the tales story “the mimic.” Where details such as Fiona dying and mimic1 being made by Edwin while mimic2 was made my FazEnt. The fact it was now changed to be Edwin had made m1 to mimic his DEAD WIFE, is kinda crazy. It makes sense in hindsight that it grew close to David bc it was literally programmed to act as his mother. Now.. how m1 ends up as F10-N4.. I still have no clue. It’s clear that SOMEHOW that machine eventually turns into mxes, but I don’t think it’s necessarily the same thing. I don’t even think mxes happened before it was taken from the factory. I think FazEnt took F10-N4, and reprogrammed it into mxes, hence the big blue rabbit.
Also to think that Edwin made so many of the beloved characters we’ve seen in SB and pizza sim is CRAZY. The fact that we have practical confirmation that Monty and Roxy were NOT FazEnt characters, and even CHICA was not designed by them, but by FIONA. It was very fascinating to see so many origins of these characters and how their humble beginnings may have started (I absolutely DIG rodeo Roxy, but I’m a sucker for the country aesthetic)
Now.. to answer the question that everyone has been asking. Does this completely decanonize the Tales books?
Personally, I don’t think so. And I’ll explain.
The way I see it is this. The story of the Mimic is definitely changed, but the main concepts still remain. The Murray’s, the mimic and David, Edwin beating the shit outta mimic (who we now know is m2, the one that was built to mimic DAVID). All of that remains. So what I think tales is.. is exactly what the name implies.
They’re TALES.
They’re stories, gossip, rumors told from person to person, like a game of telephone. Each person that it gets told to, gets told a slightly altered version. While the MAIN CONCEPTS of the stories remain in tact.
This game is the full TRUTH about what happened. The details are not mixed up by skewed perspective and false and unreliable narration. So while I do think that a lot of the stories probably don’t hold much significance in the long term. I do think that the CONCEPTS introduced in the stories are still very important (and explains why SW said it as “if you’ve read the books, you don’t know the full story”)
One more thing. This game pretty much solidifies my theory on what glitchtrap is. He is not Afton, and he is not the mimic. He is a branch of the m2 program, that was scanned into the VR system and accidentally taught to mimic Afton, similarly to how the m2 was accidentally taught violence. So yea, I do think m2 and glitchtrap are connected, but not EXACTLY the same, as they do seem to have different personal goals while having a similar universal goal.
So yea.. I definitely feel that this game gave us a lot of information that we both needed to fill in gaps, and information that we didn’t even expect to find out. Edwin was truly just another victim in the overall Ponzi scheme that FazEnt was running in order to put themselves on top. And taking literally everything he owned. His money. His products. His schematics. his literal livelihood. Just shows how truly evil of a corporation they really are.
And as far as the future goes? I’m very curious as to how the characters are gonna deal with, what we know now is, an abused neglected child that was taught violence and seems to be at the point of no return. It does make me curious about the secret ending with “the real treasure was friendship all along” and makes me wonder, if the end solution will have something along that line (not with the mimic itself, but moreso with the others like Cassie and Gregory, who I fully believe are gonna be foils in the next game)
I truly truly believe, that we are on the cusp of the end of the mimic era, and that we may be getting one final game: Fallfest. I see the potential for the return of the cast of this era (Gregory, Vanessa ,Cassie, Freddy, possibly Roxy) and something regarding these guys, is gonna be what takes the mimic down for good. (And so HELP ME GOD they better all come out alive! Bc there doesn’t always need to be a bleak and depressing ending that splits what has clearly been set up as a found family) (sw I’m in your fucking walls)
I could talk more about how I think friendship and redemption will be the ultimate end goal, but.. this post has already gone on long enough. So imma cut it here.
And yea, those are my thoughts, as well as I can remember them off the top of my head. I’m sure they’ll be more stuff I have to say in the future. But for now, that’s it.
Overall, solid game. Solid gameplay. Solid characters, and interesting lore implications that definitely changes how I see some things.
They did a great job 👏

I keep thinking about the audio log Edwin leaves in the MCM, where he says that Fiona was right - that 'they' (presumably Henry and William) don't think of him as a friend anymore.
This is, in all likelihood, due to the fact that once Fazbear Ent. caught wind of the MCM's increasingly financial instability and the fact that employees were leaving with company secrets and selling them off, so they also started bribing and coercing employees to join them -> or at the very least, William did.
(The game never specifies who started it, though. We see as matter-of-fact that William was definitely bribing people to bring Edwin's work with them when they left near the end of Edwin's life, but we don't know if Fazbear's Ent was the start - it could have started with trying to keep Fazbear secrets like endos and so forth off the market, collection on comissioned characters it was unlikely Murray would finish, and then eventually other characters not yet purchased, but we don't know. It's so fucked up,).
My question, though, is which Fiona he is talking about - his real wife, the human Fiona who died at Fallfest, or F10NA, the mimic who took on Fiona's personality and came to love Edwin herself.
I personally figure it is F10NA, as while the OG Fiona was still alive, Edwin was...kind of healthier (the MCM was still hazardous though, as seen with the deadly elevator that Fiona herself knew about), and his relation with Henry and William was presumably better - Fiona herself took the concept of Chica's party world and was the design artist for said character which Fazbear's later bought - plus, another audio log, which he presumably directs at the deceased Fiona, he says he misses their friends, and he misses her.
It implies their friendship started folding under Edwin's grief, the decline of his own mental state, and how that would later effect the MCM's production of comissioned material for Fazbear Ent.
This is supplemented by another audio log from F10NA in the MCM, where she urges Edwin not to tell anyone else about her, because they wouldn't understand.
I don't think F10NA would have meant Edwin any ill-will or to cause him any mental distress when cautioning him against Henry + Will (especially Will, regardless of whether he started the stealing/hopped on the bandwagon to preserve Fazbear-only materials, because William is a sly and manipulative asshat, even if I don't think he stole everything/mansion), but in Edwin's mental state, and under the strain of the resulting poor financial and managerial decisions he made because of that, he clung to her for sometime -> at least until he snapped, came to his senses that the OG Fiona and David were gone (methinks David is posessing his tiger stuffy/suit, though), and tried to destroy M2. -> and this urging from F10NA could have led to him becoming extremely paranoid about matters and making everything worse.
Which, he wasn't wrong to be -> whether it started with Fazbear or not, his employees were leaking company secrets as they left (though they were in the right to leave), but the severity of said paranoia and the way he began to isolate himself following it, only conferring with F1ONA and M2 (Mimic David) would only further worsen his mental state and lead to himself digging deeper and deeper into a hole he would not be able to climb out of.

Now mutual….
Henry headcanons…
Oh my goodness yes I'm so sorry this was left in my ask box for so long!!! This is going to be long and filled with spelling errors
- Henry was born on a small farm with his twin sister Jen
- He first got his love for inventing when going to a county fair and seeing all the fun and interesting rides :)
- For most of his schooling Henry kept to himself having like no friends at all Except Jen and getting bullied a lot...
- Henry and Jen got a scholarship scholarship to a University in Utah for engineering
- Upon getting to university Henry made his first friend! Edwin Murray!! Who was a nerdy little loser just like him!!
- Henry began to start working on a prototype Fredbear in his free time, He wouldn't let anyone help him especially Jen. Since as he said this was his Baby
- Well trying to find a suitable hat and bow tie for the Fred bear prototype Jen and Henry went to a small pawn shop. Where they met William Afton who proceeded to hit on Jen
- Jen found him annoying and creepy but Henry found him cute And in Henry fashion monologued about robots and his dream of opening up a diner for like 3 minutes. And William got interested and proposed himself to become Henry's business adviser.
- The 2 became friends with Henry Being dragged to parties with William And spending more of his free time working on Fredbear and the ideas for Fred bear's family diner with William
- In like 1970 William dragged Henry to a House party where he Proceeded to leave Henry alone As he had intercourse with a woman. That's where Henry met his wife the woman's best friend Emily :) After a wonderful night of chatting and being cute the 2 decided to try going on a date
- Good news the dates went very well! Even better news Emily's family that she estranged herself from has a diner that they can use for FredBears (Maybe Henry had to do a bit of convincing Emily too talk to her Not nice family And stop her from following her dreams but like it all will work out in the end!)
- Henry and Emily's relationship was very very rushed. They started officially dating after the second date and got married after like 3 months of knowing each other... (Henry didn't rest things along at all they're in true love and it's going to help him achieve his dreams so it's wonderful and fine!)
- Their wedding was very small and short, But it was the happiest day of Henry's life :)
- Up until a couple months later when his sweet twins were born. At the time they were only expecting one child so Charlie was a bit of a surprise but Henry was more than ready to be a dad!
- And even more wonderful Emily got the diner from her parents and now they have a place to start FredBears!
- By the time Charlie and Sammy are 2 Fredbears is up and running with food and very limited animatronics (no Spring lock suits yet) It's a huge spectacle and it makes like a lot of money
- Soon as the business continues to do well Henry and Williams start working on Spring lock suits! Sadly the first test ended with William in the hospital but on the bright side in the hospital William met his future wife so it all works out as it always does!
- Life just keeps on getting better for Henry the business is doing incredibly well (they're even thinking of branching out to other locations), The twins continue to be wonderful little balls of energy and William has a daughter now With his new lovely wife. Also Springlock Suits are working really well
- All the way up until 1980 Things are going incredibly well for Henry and then Charlie is found dead.
- Henry is devastated. His sweet little girl was murdered and he doesn't know what to do. He cries like a lot and is basically inconsolable. He starts drinking too much too since that's the only thing along with building robots that makes the pain go away.
- The puppet starts malfunctioning it was probably all the rain Henry doesn't think about it and just continues to spiral into depression and making more robots. And of course William, william makes him happy, William makes him want to live and not die..
- He continues like that until 1983 when Evan is murdered by Michael. This hurts him even more. His machine his first child a killer? Why does everything he make break and turn rotten what did he do wrong?? Around this time due to his alcoholism and not being a good dad subsidies too busy being sad Emily and Sammy leave him.
- Henry continues to wallow in sadness it getting only worse once his wife leaves. Even gets the idea to make himself a robot daughter which he begins working on in 1984. Henry also spends all of the time he can drinking with William he needs William. He also cuts off all contact with Jen
- Missing children's incident happens and Henry is a wreck. Everyone blames him for the murder thanks to his antisocial behavior and general weirdness. He's arrested for a bit but led off due to lack of evidence. People don't listen though they spray paint his house and yell at him. So he just stays to himself more...
- Henry's basically just a full recluse by 1986 He barely even knows about circus babies, At this point he just signs where William tells him to sign and builds whatever machines William says they need. Work on the Charlie block continues she's even coming along :) The Charlie bought makes him happy. It's his sweet little girl back to him again sure she can't really talk or do anything yet but he's working on it!
- 1987 is when the older siblings of some of the MCI break into his house and break things and find Charlie bot and hit her over the head with a bat in fear. They kill his sweet little girl. They beat him over the head with a baseball bat and break his arm by accident. Henry doesn't press charges though William suggests making them work at fazbears as payment and Henry agrees. He's too busy wallowing in grief after the loss of Charlie bot to do much else...
- After the bite of 87 and MCI part 2 Henry doesn't know what to do. The lawsuits keep piling up and everything feels horrible and the company keeps getting bigger. William does most of the business stuff and everything else now. Henry just makes things.
Everything changes when one night drinking with William, william reveals that he's the 1 who did it. William killed all the kids, William melted down the kids and stirred them up into a liquid medal and put it in Henry's drink so Henry could live forever.
- Henry forces William out of his house screaming at him and locks the door. Whatever William did it worked. Henry's wrong now and he knows it. William keeps on trying to talk to him but Henry doesn't listen what he does is called Jen and beg her for help with whatever happening.
- Henry after talking with Jen signs away the company and moves in with her. They soon figure out that he's basically immortal and can't die/get hurt and also gives off really really bad vibes.... This makes Henry even more sad, But Jen is able to help him a bit
- Over the next couple of years Henry just kind of chills with Jen, Most of the time he's depressed and despondent but they're still kind of making progress. Emily tries to reach out to him in this period but Henry refuses to talk to his wife fearing that she'll think him some kind of demon after what William did (He's just a guy with glowing eyes and immortality he has weird hang-ups about it Be nice to him) He does try to talk to Sammy but Sammy wants nothing to do with him
-Sammy takes over the company and gets married but Henry doesn't attend either of these things. But Jen is able to get him out sometimes on walks and like On other excursions. He even kind of starts to make friends At the local library that Jen forces him to go to. Of course throughout all of this he misses William. Sometimes it feels like Henry needs William to live.
- By the time of fnaf3 Henry is still a mess but doing better, Jens even got him out too AA Meetings and talking to Emily a bit. And then Spring trap happens and Williams back and Henry doesn't know what to do. Because Henry needs William. Williams like in addiction to Henry. (The relationship is very unhealthy)
I think I'll stop here and cover the fnaf 6 If you want sorry this is so scattered brain I'm real tired :p

Do you have any headcanons about Edwin and David Murray and Mr. Burrows? Angst and Fluff are both welcome!😁
I will be so honest, I genuinely don't think much on their characters, and I really should
The best I can do it provide dumb facts based on my au bc I actually don't know how well it lines up with the original stories 😭
So firstly (mostly because I don't remember if it contradicts the information given in the storyteller) I think Mr burrows has been a chairman in the company for a while before the events of the story teller, and I even think he lived in the farther with his own set of bobbiedots. I think itsp ossible he had Gen 1 animatronic line bots and either refused Gen 2 or hadn't upgraded to them before his death
Ohhh or having the like 1 day before death they weren't "experimental" or "malfunctioning " but we all know that's a lie
I do think the theme of animatronic assistants carries with Edwin, especially after know he had them in his factory in SOTM sure that was for busy work but I think he would have one as a companion after his self isolation that rose after the death of his wife (was she his wife?) And child
Specifically a humanoid one, the animal ones kinda freak him out now.
Also fuck that holographic ai shit.
Traditional art supremist ig lol
David would have lost his fucking mind at a zoo or aquarium
And idk if it's be a positive or negative spiral
Also I kinda think he'd wear overalls tbh idk why
EDIT: OH BURROWS WAS 100% AT THE HEAD OF THE INITIATIVE TO DEACTIVATE BALLORA LMFAO

(Secret of the mimic spoilers)
So uh kinda weird baby can change her size in the 4th closet and the mimic one / Fiona (I’m assuming could be 2) has hand units voice right?
ANYWAY.
I was thinking over Fiona (M1) prehaps being glitchtrap and how that relates to the idea of putting a family back together. I think because of books like the storyteller we’ve been assuming M2 is doing basically everything. M1 however has the right motivation and isn’t currently in the physical body (as far as we can tell). It’s not out of the relm if possibility that tehy swapped but it would be weird.
Other theorists have done so much already with the whole putting the aftons back together but the clear evidence is the sticky note room mentioning family the afton family table in that room and whatever’s going on with Vanessa and Gregory being stand ins.
In secret of the mimic it’s M1 who pushes Edwin to make a replacement child. It’s also M1 who tells Edwin to make another if it isn’t working. She’s been shown in this game to not be above pivoting. And fuck is it a stretch to go from make me another David to I wanna be an afton but if she’s glitch trap then the most recent data set is of the aftons. We also know William owns the place she’s at by the time of security breech she would have spent more time around and involved in aftons than Murray. If she is hand unit she even spent some time with baby.
I know most of this is headcannony but I think it’s less of a stretch for an ai trained to be a mother to continue to do that just pivoted due to more data than m2 just getting plugged in and deciding afton is his entire personality especially since we never see him outside of his physical body. Also the mimic staying in a physical body whilst finona being Mrs helpful whilst in ruin M1 being helpie.
Fuck am I glad m1 now has a name so we can stop saying the mimic to refer to two characters.
Anyway I’m gonna go overthink sister location again. Xx

Thanks for illustrating the main cast and supporting characters. Good job on everybody and the animatronics! Can’t wait for What We Found, Prankester, the rest of the Frights, and Epilogues!
Are you going to do Tales form the Pizzaplex as well next?
Thank you for the compliments. Stuff like this really keeps me boosted, and I'm glad to hear you're excited for the rest! The plan is to draw basically everyone major from all the book series, so Tales from the Pizzaplex will definitely be covered. My original plan was actually to start them immediately after I was done with Frights and maybe starting the speedpaints for the ranking videos I have planned, but with TUG 2 coming along I want to wait to see what characters from Tales they think are important enough to list before I start drawing em. Although with me transferring all these to digital in-between the Gumdrop Angel designs my initial plan my come sooner.
If you just can't wait that long however I do have some designs already for Tales! Edwin Murray especially, I think my art is still a top result when you look for images of him? It'll be fun to revisit them eventually but in their current state I think they're already great and very few changes will be made.

I feel like talking about afton some more
Remembering the screenshots from my earlier post

I'm going to be so bold as to claim Afton never had any children. His "three children" are actually David Murray(og crying child), Elizabeth(Charlie Emily if you wanna go with books) is Henry's daughter and the mimic.
Afton spent a lot of time burying Edwin's and Fiona's part in creating Foxy, Chica, the springlocks, and anything else he wanted. He did it well enough that nobody really thought about a potential "third" or at best, people thought it was his ex-wife (that I'm also not convinced exists)
He's the Smelon Husk of fnaf except people actually like Afton. Also, the murdering of children thing as far as I'm aware. It's disappointing at best for longtime theorists and understandably infuriating to others
Afton took everything from Edwin, down to the house. Would it really be that hard to make any ex-mcm employees sign an nda saying they can't mention Edwin or Fiona? Legally, he(or rather "fazbear") owned all the rights to edwin's ideas. It wouldn't be difficult to change the name of who designed them.
Maybe Afton realized David's spirit was still around while he was exploring his new home. Maybe he found F10N4 and convinced her Edwin was still alive, that he was sending people to help her fix M2. With a little manipulation, he can make it look like he has a reclusive wife, angsty teen, and whimpering son. It's possible he wanted that originally with human!Fiona, the possibility burnt up too soon to know. Except, none of this can be linked to anything related back to Edwin, right? Since Afton has too much of an ego to allow such reminders to invade his life. The same ego that can't allow Henry to have a living daughter while all his "children" are machines.
Circus Baby was given to Henry as a project to create (along with the other funtimes). Afton knew Henry kept his daughter close, he also knew Henry would make the animatronics despite his hesitancy. I like to believe funtime Freddy is meant to be a jab at Henry because of that, actually. The animatronic locked away with a bunny soothing his temper? Yes please
Ballora would be Afton's sob-story of his wife leaving him after their children die. In reality, she's F10N4 trapped in the basement longing to have her son home. Circus Baby is now the tragic tale of how *his* daughter was brutally killed by one of his inventions. I can see M2 inhabiting Foxy when it realizes people are in the building, too. It'd be a decent reason to keep Foxy around despite being an Edwin creation originally, especially if Afton is still actively trying to catch the mimic.
In conclusion, Afton is the most pathetic businessman/murderer, liar, and virgin within fnaf

It's rare the music playlist at work throws anything at me that I'd actively go and listen to on my own time. But dang if they didn't remind me the other day of a song I haven't listened to in a while, that ended up making me think of the AWLB prequel again. Idk when I'll get around to that one, it'll take a lot of notes and planning to help me make sure I don't remove it too far from aspects talked about already in parts 1 and 2 of AWLB. But so far, each time I go "Oh yeah, The Hand that Holds the Knife, that's a fic on my to-do list." I still wanna work on it, and still think it'd be interesting to work with. But man, it's, likely gonna be a lot. Certain parts already come up in AWLB, part 2 especially, and one upcoming Remnants chapter, but I hope to add more and be more detailed with the scenes already mentioned. Also still thinking about the WWLWWF AU spinoff idea I've had. I've decided if I do write it, it won't be in the main fic, as I wanna keep the main fic sort of a 3 way split between the Emily's, the Aftons, and Vanessa, Gregory and Cassie. I don't wanna add a fourth in and have more to keep up with in one fic. XD But, without getting too deep into it. This spinoff would likely focus on newer aspects of the canon material, like the Mimic, Edwin Murray, etc. I know I made a couple posts a while back about the way the "animatronic" characters are in the WWLWWF AU, definitely remember dropping some lore on "Changelings" there too~ ;3 But I'll leave it at that for now! Anyway, me just rambling for a bit over.

Random SOTM thoughts
Caught between the possibility of William + Fazbear Entertainment actually stealing Edwin's work (via defecting employees from MCM or sending in employees of their own, because both William and Fazbear Ent are monstrous bitches by the time of canon across the worlds) vs actually having legally bought at least some of the designs, prior to Fiona's death and Edwin's spiral into...everything that went down in MCM.
I see most people in comments immediately assuming that Henry + William stole Edwin's designs - but I'm honestly not sure how much of that is the case, because while it wouldn't suprise me at all if theft occured near the end of Edwin's life, and especially following his death, considering they were friends for an unknown period of time, it makes sense to me that they would at least try to go down a legal route for reputation if nothing else?
(Also, I'm a sucker for any AU where William Afton does care for his loved ones, but depending on the choices he makes he can either be better or be cruel as in canon - His Empire of Dirt by @peariandpine has changed me forever. I want to think they were, at one time, genuine friends - and the three of them fuck it up, by being so devoted to the improvement of the work.)
Plus, Murray's Costume Manor is ultimately a warehouse designed to showcase animatronic and mascots suits one can either lease out or purchase outright.
It makes more sense to me that Edwin helped William + Henry get off their feet in the animatronic industry because his father was already a part of that industry, in part helping them design Fredbear and Springbonnie (creating the prototypes and storing them in the lower levels of the facility), and they all had a hand in character design plus the internal robotic engineering (ex: endos, springlocks), while Edwin manufactured them with additional input from the other two burgeoning engineers.
Maybe they were given a discount on the manufacturing price due to the fact that they were friends, but they still ultimately would have created the concept of Fredbear/Springbonnie together, having split ownership over them.
Then, when Fredbear's Diner was getting more popular, as were animatronic attractions in the 70's/80's in general, William and Henry wanted to open more restaurants, with new characters - such as Chica's Party World (I have no idea if CPW was originally comissioned by Fazbear or simply bought out from another company), and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
(Pretty sure that the Freddy Fazbear Pizza deal was the Fazbear Ent Restaurant project that fell through, with Edwin being behind in production and overbudget, with Fazbear Ent being displeased and rejecting the various designs he sent through - you can find busted down/unfinished Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy around the workshops. I kind of figure that after the MCM collapsed, the project was put on hold until Henry/William/Fazbear had the funds/facility to produce the animatronics themselves after losing their biggest/sole manufacturer).
They looked to Edwin for working on improved robotics, and his wife Fiona for character designs (it's confirmed in SOTM that Fiona designed Chica, though one of the MCM workers, Milton, noted that Edwin's suit was slightly different to Fiona's original design and a fair bit scarier).
Even when Fazbear Ent purchased the land of Murray's house and stuff, and had the right to make him move, William expressly reached out (even if it was only an act of courtesy) to say, we won't take your house or anything, and we would still like for you to be lead engineer rather than just - kicking Murray out.
Though, I have no doubt that as Murray's mental health declined he and whoever else was in Fazbear Ent. definitely began attempting to monopolize the defecting MCM workers (which. r.i.p. to them, Fazbear is not any better than Murray was).
All that said, William would still be the absolute biggest bitch in this scenario, as he still holds all the power. He's a fairly smart man who uses said smarts for terrible things - even if he believes and thinks he knows best for his detoriating friend who is clearly overtaxing himself, so whether he genuinely cares for his friends/family or not, he would definitely be aware of the power incongruity.
Whether he cares or not, William is always a fairly condescending character to the people around him in my head, lol. Even if there's a world where he is not a murderer, he's still a bit (a lot) of a bastard.
(Also, I've seen comments theorizing that Henry was Edwin's friend first and William coerced him to defect, which - wow. W o W. It's terrible, but also wholly so William, especially if you look at the Restaurant Project as Fredbear's Diner, the flagship, rather than the latter Freddy's location).
Also, the idea that William stole Edwin's house is a wonderfully terrible idea (it's gonna give give me brainrot for days) - but also I don't think it checks out, as we see in the Sister Location post-scoop cutscene that the Afton household had plenty of neighbors and lays on a flat road - the Murray Mansion was high up on a hill and pretty isolated, same as the MCM.
Even if William rebuilt his home atop of the mansion's ruins, the house would still be isolated where it stoof atop atop the hill.
(I do have the crack headcanon, however, that Michael and David were around the same age and possibly played together whenever William and Edwin met in person pre-Fallfest and Fiona's death/F10NA's creation, the Fnaf 4 bedroom is modeled after David's because they were friends, and that it is Michael we play as in FNAF 4 - mainly because the layout of the bedroom in game doesn't match CC's in the 8-bit sections in-between the nights.
Also, though CC's name is cemented as 'Evan' for me, it would be so fucked up if William had named his youngest child David in remembrance of one of his friend's long deceased son).
#fnaf#william afton#edwin murray#secret of the mimic#random thoughts#spoilers for SOTM#please note that I think SOTM takes place around '79 and Murray is most probably died prior to this#so he never got to see the eighties#but his death may have postponed the advent of Freddy's being built and expanding until the eighties since Fazbear would need to find a new#manufacturer or become the new manufacture#and then all that progress is blown up by Peepaw Afton himself anyways
