She was still missing some scales, mostly on one of her shoulders, from her encounter with her double a little while ago. Not too big of a deal, the scales would come back, but she wasn’t sure if they’d come back the same as they were before.

Mostly, she was concerned about what it’d do to her camouflage. She already had scales that never fully healed that won’t change colours with the rest of her, she didn’t really want more.

Until they grew back, she occasionally (and right now, for instance) changed  colours, seeing how well the area around her injuries changed. Several times she’d gone from purple to some other colour to purple to polka dotted and back to purple, until she noticed a very large someone was watching her do it.

“From hearing all that, it’s my understanding that your double seems far more...” What was the word she was looking for here?

“...different, from the norm, than mine is.”

She didn’t know what kind of double life Crow was capable of, which is why she’d asked, curious how it matched up to her own memories of her own alternate self.

“At least you didn’t have to deal with shareholders.”
