The fact that Kappa got his name from a Castles custom where if your told “kappa” you are forgiven for anything making Kappa’s name a comfort to him because he is desperate to be forgiven for any prophecies or just anything in general that feels he messes up on

He had it coming so that means anything goes(and they do mean anything)
This character is right and characters who don't immediately agree are dumb and wrong
The flaws don't need to be addressed because again theyre right and everyone else is wrong
How dare this character need an actual arc and that arc not take 30 seconds
The arc is just to accept another character is right and do whatever they say, complex feelings and dynamics of the character growing be damned
mentality in the show and fans just 🙃 it's my fault I decided to watch the tween show that plays at nuance without committing to it because they stumbled their way into the otp of all time by accident

Friendly reminder that Gwen's father was most likely going to shoot her.
And Miguel might've legit saved Gwen's life.
Rewatching ATSV - This scene always just gets be HEATED. Everytime I catch something that makes me
Tumblr media
'Okay. Okay yeah, yeah - AHHHHHHHHHHHH-'
And this time I realized. Oh. OH.
Gwen's dad was PLANNING to shoot her - Or.. if we consider cop training, he was mere seconds away from actually firing on her.
And he would've had Miguel not been there.
In Gwen's confrontation scene - her father WAS actively threatened and afraid of her. And from what we see, he was VERY VERY close to acting on it, more than you think.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point in the scene begins with him pointing the gun at her, and as he speaks and Gwen begins to beg, he begins to gradually lower it.
Until she steps closer to him. And then he starts pulling it on her again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is literally re-raising the gun at his daughter, because she took a step towards him.
So not only is she his daughter, she's also like... 5'6 and sixteen years old.
And he's still afraid of her, enough so that when she takes even one step closer, he is ready to threaten her life again.
You can hear the fear in his voice, and I don't doubt for a second he would pull the trigger - either on a warning shot, or a 'nonlethal' blow.
We've all heard cops say it before. 'I panicked', 'it was self defense'.
And Friendly reminder-
MIGUEL saves Gwen's life here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now look at this first photo.
And before you keep reading, please guess what's really really REALLY bad about that photo. Just look.
Trigger Discipline.
If you don't know, trigger discipline is the concept taught to gun-owners in order to reduce accidental shootings and firings.
Trigger Discipline is the idea that your finger should NEVER be on the trigger of gun unless you plan to fire it in the next two-three seconds.
Otherwise, THIS is the proper position to hold a gun.
Tumblr media
Gwen's father is a cop. He's 100% been trained in trigger discipline. He knows not to do this.
Which implies - George Stacy was ACTIVELY PLANNING on shooting Gwen right then and there. As in, seconds away from pulling the trigger.
Raising a gun to his daughter at close range, finger on the trigger.
I think his actions can speak for themselves. He was going to shoot her.
And the only reason he didn't, was because Miguel saw this - and forcefully took the gun from him. (Like a proper Spider-man put some respeckt on his name)
George didn't care that there were TWO adults standing there as witness. He didn't care that he's not supposed to touch the trigger. In that moment, truly all he cared about was imprisoning Gwen - by any AND ALL means necessary.
And to top this off -
Friendly reminder, he never apologized. For ANYTHING.
Tumblr media
He doesn't apologize for pulling a gun on her. He doesn't apologize for forcing her into homelessness. He didn't apologize for accusing her of murder.
He doesn't even ADMIT that she DIDN'T KILL PETER.
All he does is quit and compliment her. No apology. No acknowledgment about how his identity as a cop turned him into a toxic horrible father. No acknowledgment that Gwen isn't a killer.
Just 'I quit'.
Had Miguel not been there - I'm very sure George would've posed a VERY real danger to Gwen's life.
He doesn't deserve to be forgiven. And really, considering his arc, glorification - and his failure to even apologize - it really goes to show that at some points ATSV really teeters on casual copaganda.
Also Miguel that was really really cool of you (you saving Gwen's life totally makes up for the whole chokeslamming Miles thing <3 /j)

omigod yes. i have this whole rant about how yoyok is her thesis. it start with her wanting love, yearning. classic taylor. but then something different blooms. and her focus becomes her songs. writing but also her choice to take the money puts her on a path where she ends up alienating her hometown folks and startling herself with how bloodly the battle for her career turns out.
but again like she finds writing, she finds something in her career despite it all. and the whole bridge is saying that she would make that choice again. choose that adventure again. the way she sings ‘you are on your own, kid. you always have been’ goes from sad to wistful to powerful. the whole song is her saying that she would choose herself and her career everytime because this is *her*. this is what she wants. and she is saying this at the end of midnights when she knows how the whole cycle of fame, success plays out because she has seen it all
which is why the prophecy (and some parts of ttpd) are so startling. it takes her back to a place of negotiating her career at the expense of personal happiness. and while ttpd feels like an arc and it is. i feel like there is a lot left to be explored between the transition of prophecy to the ‘what if i told you i’m back’ of alchemy and the youthful happiness of shs (and the current happiness and comfort we see now). we know she got back. we suspect but we still don’t know how or if her life philosophy has changed
I’ve been putting off this ask for a day now because i want to take the time to answer it thoughtfully. as soon as i got an idea while reading, you beat me to it and mentioned it in the next paragraph lol.
i have thought about this extensively re: yoyok, especially when you consider that she wrote it when she was undergoing such a pivotal change in her career (red TV release). it’s her embracing that life again despite all the pain it might entail. i was also startled by her ‘not wanting money’ and feeling resentful of fame on ttpd, but i think a key part of that story is waolom. she wrote yoyok at a time when she hadn’t been in the public eye in ages, and she was longing for that sense of connection again while reflecting on everything she had achieved. she has spoken about how re-releasing red ‘healed her in a significant way,’ and it’s clear that the pain she was going through in her personal life is always there between the lines of her all too well speeches. ttpd was made when she was THE biggest story in the tabloids almost every week. the attention from the fans wasn’t exclusively loving anymore. she was already going through it, and while the tour pulled her out of bed, it also forced her to go onstage when she was being raked over the coals for a decision that was already painful to make. I’m sure everything felt forced for a while there. it was part public trial and part homecoming. the final note on fame is that it can take everything from you (clara bow), but it can also give you purpose (the manuscript).

So I finally finished Onyx Storm a few weeks ago and have been wanting to write out my overall thoughts, and I'm finally getting to it lol (I've been so busy between work, theatre, and home stuff😅)
Anyway so my general overall opinion is that I enjoyed it for the most part, but I definitely enjoyed the first 2 books more. I also felt some personal frustrations while reading, but I'll talk more about those in the reblogs or something. I just wanna keep the main post about the positives for now😊
!Onyx Storm Spoilers!
What I loved:
Dain fucking Aetos. If you had told me going into this book that Dain would be one of my absolute favorite parts, I would've said "lol yeah sure" but here we are. He delivered gold in every scene he was in tbh and I loved it. He really showed up, quipped a bit, got publicly disowned but handled it like a champ, supported Violet without question, struggled with being a translator, got salty when Aaric showed him up, and partook in some serious sexual tension with Sloane and I love that for him. Character👏 growth👏 I love his character arc over the 3 books and I hope he continues to grow. And maybe Dain & Sloane are the real enemies-to-lovers haha❤️
Violet & Sawyer finally got some one-on-one time! Before this book, if I recall correctly, I don't believe they ever had a full scene that was really just the 2 of them. Usually if Sawyer was there, so was Rhiannon and/or Ridoc. As one of the few Sawyer fans, I've been dying for a scene with just Violet & Sawyer to show more of their individual bond with each other; and that chapter between the 2 of them where he finally mounted Sliseag was one of my favorite chapters in the book, if not my favorite. It was so cute and sweet❤️ And I loved the interaction between Sawyer & Sliseag, too, because we got to see a little bit of their dynamic. And the fact that Sliseag apparently blames himself for Sawyer losing his leg??🥺😭 I wish we had found out what Sliseag said to Sawyer to get him to finally accept the accommodation, though. I thought we would find out and I'm kind of bummed that we didn't. Either way, I'm glad Sawyer accepted the accommodation and finally came to understand that it doesn't make him a lesser rider❤️ I just love Sawyer tbh
Violet being a boss occasionally. I lived for the moments where Violet stood her ground. It doesn't matter who she was talking to, I just live for women standing their ground and telling people how it is. Whether it's demanding her & Andarna's wants/needs to the Senarium, telling the guy with the tigers (can't remember his name) how it's gonna be, or simply saying that she doesn't need a protector. I ate it up everytime bc that's my girl. I just wish she stood up for herself more, you know?
Cat & Trager were so cute...😭 It takes some talent to take 2 characters I initially couldn't give a shit about, make me not only care about them but genuinely like them, make me root for them and be happy for them... and then rip my heart out (or rather shoot an arrow through my heart) all in the same book🥲
Violet living for the tea in other people's love lives. Every time someone blushed or made some insinuation, my girl really went👀 lmao so real of her tbh
Rhiannon & Ridoc teasing Sawyer about Jesinia was one of my favorite scenes. The squad getting Sawyer out of bed to alter the wardstone was another favorite, especially Ridoc's little brotherly tough love speech he gave him aghh. I'm telling you, Rebecca could just write a whole book about Violet & her friends and I would happily eat it up, I love these 5 so much❤️
Rhiannon being a certified badass at every turn
Ridoc being Ridoc at every turn
If anything happens to Broccoli/Carrot, we riot😤
Speaking of which, Mira being the best kitten mom and giving her little chin scratches🥺 Also, just Mira❤️
Ok the reveal of Aaric's signet was kinda cool. I had been wondering if he somehow had some sixth sense. I didn't know precognition could be a signet but I suppose it makes sense if retrocognition is one lol. My only gripes with it are: 1. Did Aaric not realize that was his signet? Why else would he not just tell Violet that he was able to see the future. Why wouldn't he mention it at all if it could possibly help them? Lmao Aaric wth💀 2. Why would Violet not take just a second to open the box he gave her right away. I know it's for dramatic storytelling purposes lol but still. My curious ass would've opened it right away😅
Those are my thoughts for now! I might either reblog or make a separate post about the things I wasn't crazy about, but I just wanted to talk about what I enjoyed first❤️

After my third re-read of your comics I finally get all of the Ace Attorney references during the "Lake-Town arc"...
And now I can't help myself but imagine Link being put on a trial for being a dangerous undead drowned kid and scaring everyone in town (and all the other illegal stuff he probably did).
And Phoenix having to somehow prove that this little chaos gremlin who make his case worse everytime he open his mouth is not guilty.
... It would seem the time has come.
There was in fact a plan for a side story called "Kakariko Murder Mystery."
The victim:
Tumblr media
Gan and Link would return to Kakariko, with Link wanting to pay Dampe a visit (definitely had nothing to do with trying to rob a grave or anything...). Only to find he had been murdered!
The townspeople's first suspect? The weird Cucco Boy, of course.
Tumblr media
Court convenes. Since Ganondorf's hair is already like 85% identical to Phoenix's, he's the attorney (and he already has legal experience... in a different legal system, but it's the thought that counts...). The prosecutor is a cameo of Edgeworth.
Link does horribly in cross-examination -- we'd be in the part of the story where he's not sleeping much/is generally not feeling his best. So he'd crack pretty easily and his testimony would be full of contradictions.
Tumblr media
To make matters worse, a surprise witness would be brought onto the stand...
Tumblr media
Absolutely taken aback and disturbed by meeting Tingle for the first time, Gan would completely pivot and try to pin the murder on him.
Tumblr media
Obviously, that doesn't go well.
Some ghost channeling/Dampe's ghost being called as an (unreliable) witness probably would've been involved.
Tumblr media
I ultimately gave up on this side story because I couldn't figure out a satisfactory answer for Who Dun It. And with the work it'd need to be solid... I'd have to take more time off from the main comic, which obviously isn't something I want to do.
But it lives on in my heart. And now also on this post.

Details + Fun Snippets I Noticed while Re-Reading TAMB! Vol 1
I recently added volumes 16-19 to my TAMB collection on my shelf, so I figured it’d do a bit of a re-read to freshen my mind before I dive into the rest of the College arc! TAMB has so much rich worldbuilding and lore (not mentioning ALL the foreshadowing) so I’m excited to see what I can connect to later points in the story and also just fun little bits.
A little side note is that I haven’t seen much of the anime so I won’t be able to say much in terms of comparison or differences ^_^
Volume One:
Starting off strong here! The art is of course brilliant, but it’s also really cool to see how much improvement there is in later volumes.
The immediate whammy you get hit with seeing poor Chise, no self-confidence or much will (at least, when it comes to protecting herself.) One thing I found interesting is how Elias treats her, much like a pet (he even calls her “pup!”) It comes off as a little creepy and dehumanizing when we don’t know him yet.
The Ariels! One thing I love about TAMB is that the magic system in the world never seems limited to one place. Obviously Chise’s from Japan, and the story is set in England, but also the Ariels mention America and the monsters there, too!
Poor Chise! She’s literally so surprised that anyone would ever Like her or give her things.
“But also… To make you my bride” BRO HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL HE IS TALKING ABOUT LMAOOO
Silky immediately enraptured with Chise. Not only because she’s a Sleigh Beggy, but also it’s a lady in the house!!
Chise’s messy hair! How cute!!
“you look kinda strange and sketchy” LOLOLOL THATS SIMON’S FACE
Angie being the one with the steel chair and reminding Elias “you FOOL not everyone knows your strange inhuman habits”
the poppies!!
Chise having some cute moments with Hugo!!
Chise assuming Elias and Angie are lovers, and then assuming they’re eloping when Elias says she’s married. Chise is very honest!!
SIMON
Silly’s reoccurring Giant Sandwiches
Take a shot everytime Chise gets thrown into a body of water in this series. Seriously! It happens a lot!!
Lindel!!!
“The living should not envy the dead” yeah that still hits hard
Nevin’s death is so heartwarming. He doesn’t fear his death and it shows, and it’s an eye opening moment that Chise carries with her for a long time
Ulthar arc!! It’s a pretty good introduction to a deeper delve into magic
Molly being a female cat and still being referred to as “King”
Elias bringing up that children can see through his disguise and being Uncomfortable with it. Foreshadowing for later!
ALICE. MY GIRL. One of my fav characters!! She looks a bit more scruffy in these first appearances than later down the line (more like her concepts), though that could also be Chise’s perception of her.
Oop and there Chise goes into a lake.
And the first look we have at Chise’s mental magic/looking into the past and memories that comes in clutch when she swaps with Cartaphilus!!
Overall a very strong first book. Establishes the magic systems (with a focus on mages and sleigh beggy mechanics) and Chise’s struggle to care for herself as quick as she cares for others.

i finished red valley s2 (literally 30 seconds ago) and i have very swirly, conflicted, and bemused thoughts! this review is just gonna be some loosey goosey simplified thoughts on the season as a whole :)
i really enjoyed the format of the pacing this season, with the perspective switching from the future and aubrey's pov back to the past recordings, i thought it added a nice layer to the way information was revealed. i also just generally thought it was paced really well, especially considering the story is dealing in several time skips.
the character development this season was also delicious- i really didnt expect grace's sorta-redemption arc? and i really liked how aubrey's journey "out" of red valley was sort of a foil to both grace and briony's change in career directions. i also just loved the entirety of aubrey's arc in general, shes become my new favorite character and i think easily the most interesting one (and i hope she doesnt turn out to be another evil mad scientist in s3, i enjoy her as a morally sound grassroots terrorist, thanks).
im ashamed to say that i need briony desperately. "need" can be taken in many directions- as a lab specimen, as a lover, as an enemy, carnally, in a self disgusted manner, in a cage fight, as a medical prescription or psychiatric diagnosis. i simply need her. i love aubrey and i want to sit down with her and have a really long chat. but i want to beat briony's skull in with hammers and eat her entrails with my bare hands and teeth. i needed to confess this to god, to anyone reading these tags, and to whatever cruel power made this woman so perfect for being put in a blender.
as for warren and gordon, who i feel need to be picked apart as a unified entity, holy shit. i mean actually what the fuck is this. so we're just going to go with the fact that warren's brain is being turned to cherry slushie and hes been in hypersleep for 44 fucking years and everytime he re-wakes up he has to wonder why his best friend sounds like siri??? and gordon. gordon who has never gone under hypersleep and had the faulty meds used on him and has been in a cryonics tube for nearly half a century after being shot at close range. ok! ok!!! ok. right. so we just need to accept this and move on and not question it and not worry about it. my threat about killing everyone in the room and then myself upon gordon's demise very much still stands and i am fully prepared to take a leaf out of aubrey's book and approach this issue with a homemade flame thrower. at least waffles is fine (also, that's my cat's name, so thats fun!!)
overall, i really ate this season up and im so very scared to start s3. like actually terrified. but what a wonderfully written and crafted show!!! im losing my mind and going full yellow wallpaper!! congrats to the team behind this!!

I've been reading TAMN since either chapter 19 or 20. When I first found it, I binge read all the chapters and loved it so much. I have never read anything that has put me through such a roller coaster of emotions like this au, and I love it so much. I can't believe that it's ending, but also, I can't wait to go back and re-read it again (I love to re-read/watch things multiple times). I won't lie this fic has affected me so much that when Grian died, I actually had to take a 2 week break from reading because I couldn't accept that he died. I literally grieved with TAMN!Scar 😂 I also absolutely adore how unique you made the 'immunity' be! How the virus has become a part of them instead of overtaking due to them being immune! I hate how this fic is making me love the zombie apocalypse aesthetic. Every time I see fanart or animation related to TAMN, my love for this story and aesthetic just sparks immediately!
I really adore this fic, and I'm so glad I found it. You guys did an amazing job! Being able to wake up on Friday and read this fic has been my favourite part of the week and my Fridays are gonna be so empty now without a new TAMN chapter to read 🥲 (maybe one day I'll create some TAMN fanart in the future when I gain more confidence :D) Can't wait to see what you come up with next! ~ •☆Anon☆•
omg, this is such a huge compliment but also: I'm SO sorry poor Grian did that to you!! (not gonna lie though, if I had to read the chapter updates in real time and not know what was going on with him, I also would've had to take a break I think. The Not Knowing of that arc must've been bruuuutal.)
I know I sound like a broken record, but we are both so so so happy everytime we hear that someone has enjoyed TAMN, and especially to hear how it's pulled people deeper into a love of zombies! As a non-zombhead myself prior to the fic, it's fun to see people on similar trajectories to the one I went on. <3
We're gonna miss TAMN soooo much, but we're proud of ourselves for finishing, and we're so excited for the other parts of the world we'll get to explore and flesh out (lol, 'cause... zombies) next! <3 <3 -🔒

10 Fandom, 10 Characters, 10 People
Thanks @moondal514 for the tag!
Rules: name 10 of your favourite characters from 10 different fandoms, then tag 10 people to do the same
This is an impossible task so I'm filling this up with how I'm feeling right now, impulsively, without thinking about it too hard. Ask me tomorrow it would be different. Also the order is arbitrary and means nothing.
1) Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist
THEE original gender envy. The boy. I thought I wanted to be with him when really I wanted to be him. and kiss Winry. Manga of all time. What else is there to say.
2) Ellana from the Ewilan & Marchombres Series by Pierre Bottero
She's the best Marchombre that ever was. She writes poetry. She's hot. She has claws. She is my childhood hero and role model. She is the best Bottero character ever. I am in love with her.
3) The Biologist from The Southern Reach by Jeff VanderMeer
I don't know her name and I don't care. If the first tome wasn't from her perspective I probably wouldn't have been so invested. I would never want to fix her because whatever's wrong with her is way more interesting. I wanna go look at tide pools with her even though she'd hate that because she'd much rather be alone.
4) Joy Wang from Everything Everywhere All At Once
Honestly choosing just one character from this movie is impossible, but Joy telling her mother that she's just tired is Top 10 moments of cinema that made me burst into tears. Also: she's gay. Also: she's depressed. Also: what a fucking icon. Also: her costumes.
5) Dean Winchester from Supernatural
Choosing between him and Castiel is fucking impossible but I had to follow my heart of hearts and if I had to choose I knew I had to make this choice. It is very cringe of me to shun THEE gay angel like this and I am very ashamed of myself but he would agree with me, so. I had to. Dean is simply too deeply unwell in such specific ways that I cannot resist the brain worms. Although, without destiel? He would be nothing to me.
6) Captain K.P. Hobb from Dimension 20: A Court of Fey and Flowers
Tragic furry goblin man. His pathetic devotion to a court and its values in spite of their being drastically at odds with his honorable and rigid nature has bewitched me.
7) Fi Carmichael from Planetes by Makoto Yukimura
Everytime I re-read the arc that's centered on her and her family I sob like a little kid. Also she almost died to prevent a terrorist attack just because she wanted to smoke a cigarette.
8) Cliopher Mdang from the Lays of the Hearth-Fire by Victoria Goddard
Kip my best friend Kip. He invited the Sun on Earth, God-emperor of the world, to take a vacation, and it changed the fucking world. Number one most epic secretary ever. He has 50-something cousins. I want to be invited to one meal with him so bad, I just wanna talk to him like for 5 minutes, I know he's the busiest man in the Empire and also he's not real but like. Pretty please.
9) Sam Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings
THEE holder of hope for the whole trilogy. He's in gay love with Frodo and he can't carry the ring but he can carry him. I wish to kiss his forehead.
10) Andrew Minyard from All for the Game by Nora Sakavic
It's really hard to pick one character from this insane series but I mean. I had to.
Tagging: @aoquesth @lackluster-violet @poetic-ivy @planavarium @polzkadotz @newbornmoon @svnroom @cupcakedyke @herobrineawakening @makebelieveanything

GOD! DAMN!!
Girlie, I hadn't checked any posts since pages 59-60, and LET ME TELL YOU THE ROLLER COASTER I JUST WENT THROUGH! - First of all? Part 61? I loved the parallel going on! <3 But THE REST??? Dayum, it's amzing how your story gets me involved the moment I start reading / re-reading it! Every frame means action! I love it! Special mention: poor Cartman. Dude's in love but when Vee simply ingnored him in the room, I felt it 😢. Though, everytime I seem him being a softy I recall his arc with Heidi, and I F E A R for Veronica that's it just gonna be manipulation :/ Thank you for feeding us your great work, lol 📵-Anon
You are truly living up to your name!
And thank you!!!
Tumblr media
And, oh, Cartman is soooo manipulative but Veronica is just as bad they are

I don’t know why but everytime I re-read the JJK manga and saw an angry or sad Yuji (especially in Shibuya arc), I will always come back to JJK S1 anime and re-watched it. It’s like a comfort place for me, a place where I can see Yuji giggling and smiling 🥰

I get clowning but this drawn out back and forth just doesn´t work with Tommy and Buck. There is always too much time in between them interacting, Tommy is disappearing everytime they don´t have scenes together and when they are the show doesn´t give it enough space and depth to make the audience care about their relationship. Tommy is still a mystery because we don´t know anything about him other that he is pilot and worked at the 118. How is this approach to the relationship something that should be carried on into S9? People talk about Madney will they/won´t they but that lasted only one season and they are both mains. At this point I´m pretty sure 8x11 only happend because they needed Tommy for their weird 4th wall break re: the Buddie of it all. Somebody had to ask Buck if he is in love with Eddie is as Tim himself said: who else but the boyfriend. And it remained actually unresolved between them but since Buck talked to the audience through Maddie I guess this is all they cared about. 8x18 could still leave some massive hints that this isn´t over for good but by the time the next season gets on the GA will have forgotten about all that again, they don´t watch for little one liners and smiles that could mean something. I´m not planning to become a goalpost pusher like the other part of the fandom. S8 was not a good season, especially the first half. 8x14 gave me hope but by 8x17 we were going down again. Buck and Tommy getting binned is just the cherry on top so it´s just AO3 only for me from now on. Those writers are so much better than the ones working on 911 anyway.
Sorry for the long rant
Don't apologise, i liked reading your message : ) i agree! In terms of casual encounters building up to a relationship, buck and taylor were a much better example. I disagree that 8.11 was about buddie, i think it was to keep tommy around so he could swoop in for 8.15 without it needing a lot of explanation. Unforch, i do think tim thinks of tommy more so as a shiny toy that gives him access to cool helicopter scenes, he's not really interested in fleshing him out as a chracter (based on how s8 has gone). I would honestly argue that s8 was overall still great. There were some confusing choices re wrapping up storylines too quickly (8.04 you haunt me) but the writers are undoubtedly good at what they do when they're excited about an arc (the whole 8.14 to 8.16 arc was friggin awesome). I just don't think romance is as exciting to them anymore compared to the earlier seasons and that's reflected in tommy (or the lack of him). People keep saying "they wouldn't have invested this much time and effort in bucktommy if they didn't want them to succeed" bitch where did they do that. Yes the helicopter stunts were expensive but they were also awesome and that's more so what tim is interested in for his show. Tommy's objectively got little screentime and he's not a character the general audience is led to become invested in. Case and point.
I think a lot of people are also just misconstruing what it means for bucktommy's arc to be unfinished by the end of the season: of course they could bring tommy back next season and have them rekindle the relationship (which i can't believe i have to spell this out but that's obviously how bucktommy and buddie differ) but the problem with network tv is that there's no guarantee for any resolution now. In many ways bucktommy is at where buck and natalia were at the end of s6. Sure, there's potential, but there are so many things that could easily happen over the summer (further budget cuts, lou's unavailable due to professional or personal reasons, they decide to bring lucy back as originally intended in s7, etc) that would literally squish that storyline in an instant. The writers have very pointedly not made a commitment to this storyline and demonstrated that tommy isn't being treated like a serious love interest (in contrast to maddie and chim's will they/won't they). The only thing that would change my mind on this is if we learnt over the summer that lou was promoted to recurring for s9, that would prick up my ears. I just worry that there are people who overestimate the importance of bucktommy's relationship to the plot/writers and don't want those people to get hurt <3

everytime i think about how chuuya only allows himself to exist as a part of a group, him joining pm for the sheep, deciding to get revenge on verlaine for the flags, the shibusawa and 6 friends thing and more. it makes me so sad that he doesnt really have any individual goals in the long run, i hope he gets to have that someday
Yeah, that's I think the most painful part of his character. The only self-oriented goal Chuuya ever really had was to find the truth about Arahabaki and himself, and now he doesn't really have much in terms of self-motivation. His choices for his future became increasingly limited in Stormbringer, and while he's found people who have his back in the Mafia, it's also like... where else would he even go by that point? It's. Kinda sad.
It's also one of the reasons I just could never get behind him joining the Agency if he ever leaves the Mafia because that's just him moving to another organization! Another organization that would clash with his old one, at that. It would be straining on him to go up against people he'd once sworn to protect, and I feel like he'd wind up really lost, honestly - it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. That's why, if "his will not be an easy path" means he ends up leaving, I'd prefer it if he at the very least took some time to himself where he reevaluates what he, personally, wants.
Whatever the decision he makes, I just hope his story ends with him right where he wants to be. Because the truth is, he does like being part of a group. I wouldn't call him social but he does like being with people. Chuuya as a part of a group just makes sense imo.
No matter where he ends up by the end of it: Mafia, Agency, hanging out with Adam, Mary and Shirase in London, doing some soul searching on his own, even undergoing a villain arc - I just want that choice to be his.
***Edited because I wrote this really quickly, re-read it and decided it didn't get my point across properly and it sucked. So I revised it. Whee.

On that note, I've been wondering and looking stuff up about this because I wanted to somehow incorporate it into the story I've been writing.
I'm basically making up a headcanon about what the inside of the Galaxy Cauldron's sea is and I'm using that to extend the intro arc for the story. (I say as if anyone knew what the first arc entailed before)
This is the third time I've attempted at writing a Silver Millennium fic, and everytime I've started with Queen Serenity's birth or backstory. The first version I can't remember exactly how I did it, only that I gave her a sort of copy of Princess Serenity's story. Meaning she had a mother, possibly named Selene, who had copper hair to complete this silver-golden-bronze triad and she was killed by either a Proto-Metalia or straight up a previous incarnation of Queen Metalia.
Then in the second version I started it off with Guardian Cosmos appearing in front of Queen Serenity as she's born an adult, on the fully-formed Moon (as in it would look the same as it looks to us but like, at the beginning of time/the Solar System), to tell her what her name, kingdom and mission is. (The difference that knowing the manga makes)
This time I've taken about a million steps back and placed the birth at the Galaxy Cauldron itself, however there were some things I initally left up to a mysterious fate, like how she gets her name or why I characterize her a certain way from the very beginning, that upon re-reading I felt like they could be built upon more.
So I did it by exploring the Galaxy Cauldron as a supermassive black hole, only the inside of the sea is the part with the "infinite possibilities", as opposed to what is visible to all who (are about to?) enter Sagittarius Zero Star. I'm using it to set up some arcs and relationships.
Essentially, I see the Galaxy Cauldron in its entirety as the opposite of a black hole because, despite it being at Sailor Moon's version of the center of the Milky Way galaxy, it's a place where life is born from and all this life does is, basically, escape it to go where it's meant to be.
Black Holes and the Galaxy Cauldron
Princess Kakyuu reveals to Usagi that Sailor Galaxia's headquarters are located at the center of the Milky Way, specifically Sagittarius Zero Star, the place that holds the Galaxy Cauldron. This specific location is most likely based on the real-life supermassive black hole Sagittarius A* (the asterisk being read as star).
Therefore it's pretty safe to assume that, in the Sailor Moon universe, the Galaxy Cauldron is at the center of the supermassive black hole named Sagittarius Zero Star. It makes me think about which kind of black hole it could be a parallel of in real life, and the things that define black holes being only what we can observe and draw conclusions from.
I didn't study physics or astronomy, nor have I made any research, these are just things I think about because of Sailor Moon. My point being, I don't know more about black holes than I can read off a Wikipedia article. I can say that I get the gist of them, being that they're objects in space where nothing can escape from, only get sucked into.
None of this is true for the Galaxy Cauldron so of course we can't just go ahead and say it's this or that model of a black hole. I do think that it is an interesting take on exploring everything we couldn't and haven't to this day been able to find out for sure about them.
Not only has the Galaxy Cauldron expelled matter from its insides to the Milky Way, it has also been used by beings that, at a certain point, were long gone from it, and we also have the case of Usagi entering the Cauldron itself, retaining her physical form and resetting the galaxy back to its non-ravaged state.
It's a sort of mirror, a counterpart to a black hole. One that, sure, very few beings can actually enter or explore, and their very ability to do so is a testament to their power level.
