It’s a privilege to study, many women around the world are barred from this human right: to read, write and learn. Be grateful anytime your pen touches paper, or you are learning theorems developed by intelligent, hardworking men and women from ages ago.
It’s a pleasure and a privilege to learn. Not only is it a privilege to study, but you should be aiming and striving to take science, medicine, law, philosophy, art further than the marker we have reached. It’s a comforting thought to think, from your work generations of humanity down the line will benefit.
How many brilliant women were in the shadows of amazing feats of science and technology and life changing patents? Contribute while you can. If you pour into knowledge - it will pour back into you.

In 2000, a Minnesota student failed the math portion of the state's Basic Standards Test. Her father, suspecting an error, requested to review the exam and threatened legal action. This led to the discovery of scoring errors affecting 45,739 students, with 7,935 students wrongly informed they had failed.

Mistakes I made in my senior year that I don't want anyone else to repeat
I made a similar post last year for junior year so if anyone wants to check that out, click here!
I missed out on a lot of fun because of studying
I was too serious, I just realised that now
Studied the whole year and did well, only to burn out during finals so take a break. The world does not burn because you left one question
Most of my conversations revolved around college which by the way will irritate people. Talk about actual things, be light hearted.
Spent a lot of time on the phone in the morning
Slept late. Do not follow this. Seriously.
Didn't take time out for myself
Got too addicted to the concept of learning from AI (I mean during learning and not assignments)
Loved the concept of productivity, ended up back firing.
My anxiety sky rocketed because of pressure
People will say sh*t, you don't have to listen to them
And sometimes when people say sh*t. Listen to them
I thought the same study methods I used for my junior year could be applied to senior year but no, I took too much time, trying to force myself to follow those methods and that heightened my frustration because they didn't work (so if something doesn't work even after a month? Your sign to revaluate)
Just because a method of studying worked for you in the past, doesn't mean it will work all the time so don't continue it.
Thought my whole happiness would come with that one freaking grade on my progress grade but newsflash? it didn't
Was forced into things I didn't like, competitions and extra curriculars mainly. Worst part? I won all the ones I participated in but it just felt worthless.
I empathized with others but I couldn't empathize with myself
Stopped giving a shit about certain things that actually mattered
I spent my whole senior year comforting others who had problems but never shared mine. And the result? Burnout plus loneliness.
Panicked during exams and ended up questioning myself too much.
My mental health deteriorated but I managed.
(Again, it is for your referencing obviously. I will look at this when I'm going to college.)

june 4th / quiet study day at home
my second politics exam is tomorrow in the afternoon. i feel okay about it, but not too confident, but i don't think i ever will when it comes to exams. i managed to review all of my flashcards for politics paper 2, and realised i had forgotten to revise an entire topic a day before my exam, but hopefully i've made up for it.
i have my history exam on italy the day after politics (on friday) which isn't particularly helpful with the amount of content that comes with it, but i'll do what i can. i managed to review some of italy today, but i'll cram the vast majority tomorrow.
overall, today has been okay. i have consumed 3 lots of caffeine, but that's where the energy source is coming from, but i'm not complaining - it tastes good.

ultimate test prep checklist: the day before
a few years back, i made a checklist to help keep me on track for major testing days. it helped a lot, so just decided to share it!
☐ get at least 7 hours of sleep before your test. for teenagers, get at least 8-9 hours. make sure you don't oversleep, though; you can end up groggy on testing day. i've said this once and i'll say it again: good sleep is crucial for test scores. avoid stupid mistakes as much as possible.
☐ eat a healthy, nutritious breakfast. go for fruits, oats, eggs- whatever can keep you awake & alert throughout the day without making you crash from a sugar high.
☐ don't continue cramming on the night before. it sounds counterintuitive, but anything you do the night before will only make you more agitated the next day + won't even matter, since one day of studying doesn't make much difference. instead, focus on getting a good night's sleep.
☐ stay hydrated. don't underestimate how much hydration can affect your concentration. a general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces.
☐ organize your materials. no one wants to show up on testing day and realize their calculator died. make sure you pack everything you need and might need (better be safe than sorry), including chargers, extra pencils, and your notes.
☐ always arrive five minutes early. you want to have time to set your materials up and have advance notice in case anything goes wrong. start your test on a good note.
☐ do a light review a few hours before. do not cram. just review your notes, go over the concepts in your brain. now is not the time to ask questions about concepts you're confused about.
☐ stay confident & calm. you got this! one test won't be the end of everything. remain calm throughout the test and DO NOT PANIC. panicking will make everything worse- stay calm and skip questions you don't understand. you can always go back to them afterwards.
and that's a wrap! hopefully you all found this useful.
i've also created a google docs you can print out, which can be accessed here:
test-taking strategies, part 4 - full series here!

june 10 / cafe study day
i have officially finished politics as a subject! paper 3 was absolutely beautiful - an absolute blessing.
my final exam is on thursday and i'm really struggling to remember anything, which is just putting me in a panic. i really just want my brain to recover from these exams. i don't know how i would have gotten through the exam period without caffeine - i've had three lots of it today WHOOPS.
i'm so burnt out and it's so hard to study so much content when i have an exam in 2 days, but hopefully i'll manage

Mistakes I made in my junior year that i don't want anyone else to repeat.
Signed up for more extra curriculars than I could handle
Not giving myself enough breaks
Sleeping late
Had increased screentime
Didn't give midterms it's dues importance
Lost my notes a couple of times so I had to rewrite them and thus, wasted time.
Thought too much about what people think
Had increased anxiety levels because i wasn't doing anything productive
Didn't study from the start
Got overconfident in the subject which was easy and ended up getting the lowest in it.
Gave too many f**ks about unimportant matters
Didn't give too many f**ks about important matters
Didn't manage my time
Got alittle too ambitious and ended up backfiring
Implemented every single piece of advice i got from teachers (didn't turn out well)
Unhealthy diet and reduced my meals
Didn't exercise.
(For both my reference and yours. I have definitely thought about how I can improve in my last and final year of highschool based on this and thought that this might help someone else too.)
