Me when I make another Canon-Based OC. Which - fun fact - before I had my hands on TSAMS, I already had “Eclipse” as a canon-based-oc from the secret arcade game in Security Breach!! [Not this specific Eclipse, I didn’t have much time to work on him until TSBS came into my life.]

Her head is based off my Star design ALONG WITH the fandom’s design of “what does the Star look like”, my design acts as a mask, while the fanon design is her main skull - like a power source while she has a display.

Also love Lunar just refusing to join, cuz he wouldn't be near THAT MANY versions of the Eclipse he hates, even though Lunar (and Bloodmoon) is legally an eclipse too (Lunar Eclipse was his full name before adopted by the Celestials)

me seeing the dark sun theory with him being eclipse and sun merged and im like

Ur missing a lot here but gjkbdv I think this also can stem from the fact of how Dark Sun feels about Moons. Like the merged video, that Moon? Didn't want to hurt or even kill him. Just 'Youre having a moment ur still getting used to this. ur baby' Basically having more patience and perceptive immediately to that not being the Sun he knew. But not hateful. Just 'Yeah ill call monty over here but this might be fine'. Like the Eclipse half is now at front of releasing that anger plus with Sun's? Yeah theyre gonna get aggressive real quick but I'd say it'd burn thru fast. clearly it was early enough before they made the channel and almost after being seperated. Early enough that now this Solstice being here can bite back and Moon will have to handle yeah thats... not a piece of code he left in there but thats still his brother even if theyre new. Dark Sun while not always one for truth I'd say would've been pushed to his absolute limit as a Sun. We've seen Moon's who are just... straight up negligent and terrible. And I'm a firm believer he got to where he was just being on his own as a Sun. One who's own bias towards moons really did just fuel getting his own happy end and other Suns (one who didnt... even need the help?) fates.

That kinda hate just.. while Eclipse has every bit of that its more stemmed in abandonment- It feels different with Dark Sun. It feels far more Sun vs Moon. More deep seated loathing that feels far more personal to a Sun. If that makes sense.

Been wanting to draw something like this for a while now, just to try draw EMHM Jack's plushie design.

Thoughts after Solar and Jack play That's Not My Neighbor

Though this is less analysis then just storytelling approach. My version of Jack in EMHM was built by a Sun with bad intentions and adopted by EMHM Sun and his V2 Eclipse.

Eclipse is wary of Jack but the fact that he has feelings about being built to be a weapon allows them some common ground. And Eclipse is not confident in his own parenting skills. So adopting someone who's a developmentally stunted teenager is less intimidating then trying to raise an actual baby. It's just a matter of correcting behavior and being there for emotional support and questions.

In canon JackOMoon's hijinks are usually for the audience. He frustrates Solar by doing silly things and the audience laughs. It only makes sense if Jack knows they're being recorded. [He does in both cases, but my Jack doesn't think about it very often.] EMHM Jack isn't like that. He's a learning AI that's developing very slowly. He'll always be somewhat literal minded when asked to do things. And when he screws up it's Sun that will correct him. [But not threaten to mess with his programming in retaliation because he isn't tech savvy enough to even contemplate that.] And when Jack does silly things it's usually a misunderstanding. [It'll get more extreme when he's allowed to leave the Plex on his own.] But the main difference is that Eclipse is his other parent. If Jack pulls a prank on someone; Eclipse will also be laughing. The audience doesn't factor in at all. And if it was harmless or on someone they don't like; Eclipse will be the one telling Sun to just let it go. [If Jack dismantled Monty's car, my eclipse would laugh his ass off and give Jack a high five.] And then there's one of the big differences between [V2] Eclipse and [V1] Firefly [Eclipse]. Firefly is both a disciplinarian and a hypocrite. A not insignificant percentage of his anger isn't just that Lunar sided with Sun and Moon against him. It's also that his new brothers made no attempts to parent him. Lunar is emotionally maladjusted, lacks empathy, doesn't take proper care of himself, lacks personal discipline, can't forgive people and is insanely stubborn. When Jack gets on Firefly's nerves it'll partly be because he thinks his reboot is a shitty, lax parent.

Even though he isn't any better.

Throwback to all the times Eclipse has died and floated in that space between nothingness and everything just as everyone else has. I think Eclipse is the only character (at least off the top of my head) who has died and not talked about the experience of death itself, yet is deathly afraid of it.

Yes he’s bald. Yes he’s missing his rays. WHY? CAUSE THEY ANNOYING TO DRAW! Also because his floating rays are removable and count as a “possession” when he’s in a place stripped of possessions.
