DATA: Originally designed for marine life study and water pollution control, Hydro Man was illegally rebuilt as a high-end aquatic combat unit after a fatal encounter with whale hunters during a mission. He was rebuilt for combat against humans by renegade Robot Master KGN-004 Pirate Man, but parted with the rogue bot after some manner of misunderstanding. After being found under a local pier, Hydro Man was initially placed under house arrest for his illegal upgrades while local law enforcement and representatives of the Prescott Ecoprotection Foundation discussed his long-term fate. Eventually, an agreement was reached and Hydro Man was allowed to resume his work. No longer able to perform water pollution control (due to the loss of the Hydro Vortex filtration device), Hydro Man was reassigned to marine life study and protection. As such, he was given necessary AI modifications to allow for limited human harm under preapproved conditions.

COMBAT/UTILITY DATA: Originally rather lacking in combat abilities due to Dr. Alexander Graham Prescott’s own lack of familiarity in the field, Hydro Man is now a high-end dedicated combat unit with fighting abilities theoretically on par with that of military-grade aquatic Robot Masters such as the russian-based Dive Man or even perhaps the renegade Pirate Man. The exact measurements of his combat prowess remain untested by officials, however.

Primary Weapon: “Grapple Anchor” Both of Hydro Man’s forearms are outfitted with a folding Ceratanium grappling hook modeled after a typical ship anchor. These anchors are connected to Hydro Man by a retractable 15-meter kevlar cable and can be launched at speeds of 825 m/s. The anchors are collapsible, possibly laser-sharpened, and tipped with 2.5cm spikes.

Primary weakness: As an aquatic robot, Hydro Man is equipped with a delicate system of gyroscopic stabilizers to allow for easier swimming. This system can be disoriented by strong enough wind-based attacks. Furthermore, Hydro Man is susceptible to explosives. This is possibly a conscious chioce on the part of Pirate Man made in the interest of having a way of overpowering Hydro Man should he challenge his rebuilder.

PERSONALITY: Hydro Man’s personality is largely unchanged from before he was rebuilt, though it can be noted that he is notably less cautious. This is likely attributed to the fact that as a combat unit, he is far more resiliant and resistant to damage than he originally was. Furthermore, Hydro Man has displayed a somewhat higher tendency for confrontation, not backing down from challenges or threats like he once would. Still, these differences are situational and Hydro Man remains largely the same laid back skirt-chaser as ever.

Deep under the Prescott Ecoprotection Foundation main HQ is a heavily reinforced bunker. This bunker is a complex maze of rooms and corridors, installed by Dr. Prescott himself as a means to hide himself and those he cared about from the chaos that regularly plagues Mega City. It is to be used only for emergencies. And in Scimitar’s opinion, the current situation counts as one.
