THANK YOU
TO THE MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF YOU WHO HIT THE STREETS FOR NO KINGS DAY! THE PEOPLE ARE THE POWER AND NO GOVERNMENT HAS EVER HELD ON TO THEIR POWER WHEN MORE THAN 3.5% OF THEIR COUNTRY STANDS UP!
This is a number America is getting ever closer to. I am so proud of you. Also here's a brilliant description by a republican commentator:
"And on the other side, you have green haired, soy fed, bitter, disgruntled, vampire looking leftists, who take joy in bashing a Trump piñata with their children. Pick your America.”
Reblog if this is you xx
Shout out to any of you attended! And please look at the photos and videos, it gives a very necessary spark of hope.
The people, united, will never be defeated!!

Officially forming the theory that the reason more service dog handlers don't use protective gear like boots, goggles, and ear protection on their dog is because the public becomes 3000% more unbearable when they try.
We're all used to "aaaaawwww look the the doggo" when we go out with our working animals, but getting
1. Accosted for pictures (whether folks ask or just invade your space and distract your dog)
2. Pointed at like an exhibit
3. Shouted at (OMG DOGGLES, "why is it wearing that" etc)
4. Actively followed around by strangers
Is downright fucking awful.
I know it looks cool. I know some of our gear is specialized. I know pet dogs don't usually wear/tolerate what SDs learn the wear. But for the love of whatever you deem holy, BE KIND ABOUT IT. All of the actions listed above are just fucking rude. Leave people alone. Leave service dogs alone.
Disabled people can exist without being spectacles

Thank you Em NeuroWild
“I drew this ages ago and then forgot about it.
Many Autistic people are not lacking in social skills. Get a bunch of neurodivergent friends together and watch the magic happen.
Many of us are not lacking in humour or sarcasm. The funniest people I know are neurodivergent. Our humour may be different to yours.
Many of us have so much empathy that the feelings try to crush us. We might express that empathy differently to you.
We communicate. Our communication style is probably different to yours.
It’s not that we don’t have these skills.
It’s that we do them differently. They look different.
And they’re often unrecognisable to neurotypical folk.
As Chloe Hayden says, ‘different, not less’.
Em ☺️🌈✌️

I am well aware that this is a stupid question, but can you go to college and also be punk? Idk I just feel like my desire to get a higher education is at odds with the fact that colleges for so long have discriminated against basically every minority you can think of in some way, and also most are so expensive that people spend years paying off their loans, which I think is very predatory. There's also the fact that I get free tuition because my mom works at the college I'm currently attending. I'm grateful, but I also feel as if I'm playing into nepotism for reaping the rewards that I did not earn. I might be oversharing but I have a lot on my mind and would love it if you/other punks who read this can help me out.
I'm sure there will be some people out there that disagree, but I have never heard "getting a degree is inherently anti punk". Yes, the institutions themselves can be discriminatory, but we also need as many well educated people as possible on our side and working with us. Having a degree puts you in a position of privilege yes, but it doesn't directly oppress other people just by you having it. Yes the system is fucked, but you not going to college doesn't overturn the system. If anything, its much better you go and do what good you can while you're there to improve that system from the inside, and then do more good with the degree. Yes, it is more privilege to get free tuition, but you also aren't stealing that from someone else. Knowledge is power, and education is a core pillar of activism.
If anyone else has any more to say (like I likely will later) please do share

Just letting everyone know that now is no time to get tired. It is not fun to see what horrors have been coming out of all parts of Gaza and the West Bank. But for us to turn away is EXACTLY what these Zionists have been waiting for. We cannot submit to them and we cannot give up on change. We have to power to flip this whole thing around and to bring justice to the Palestinians. Our voices have more influence than we might believe.
My friend @wafs-posts messages me to share how terrible the circumstances are, and how unpredicable the dangers are. She needs support more than ever. We cannot think about giving up.
Please, if you have the means to donate to her, DO. If you can't, speak out for her and share the stories of other Palestinians. Like I said, now is not the time to forfeit and throw away everything. Our resistance will result in the liberation of Palestine. It is inevitable. For as long as we keep going, calling out the IDF, calling out Zionism, calling out the US government for it's aid and genocidal-solidarity, we are actively working towards a better future. Do not doubt the power of humanity. Keep defending Palestine with the same might you had in October. Don't let yourself get used to these crimes. Keep engaging, keep advocating for people like @wafs-posts.

A fresh new infomercial brought to you by a raging Chad at my State Fair this afternoon!
1) In the US, service animals may legally be worked off leash if the leash interferes with the dog's tasks, or the handlers disability. The dog must remain under complete handler control
2) The only people legally allowed to question the legitimacy of service dogs are employees/staff/owners of businesses/venues/events. They may ask and expect answers to the 2 ADA questions. Random other patrons are not owed answers by handlers.
3) There is no specific gear required to determine the legitimacy of a SD team. Amazon vests, leash wraps, fully custom gear, vest provided by organizations, and unlabeled service dogs can all be legitimate teams under US law.
4) Accusing a service dog team you've never seen before of being fake is incredibly insulting and rude. Do not do this. People who do this are assholes.
5) If you are not familiar with service dog laws, do more research before you speak to teams about legalities and their legitimacy in public. Ada.gov is free and has an FAQ section that answers a LOT of the basic SD inquiries.

The root of the word education is e-ducere, literally, to lead forth, or to bring out something which is potentially present.
from The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm (1956)
