A man in Brazil stopped a robbery with a katana.

As a Brazilian person, I feel it is my duty to occasionally bring to you wack news coming from my country. Lucky for me, about 2-3 weeks ago on August 13th, a man in Belo Horizonte stopped a robbery at his building by charging at the thieves with a katana. He has been dubbed “the samurai of Belo Horizonte”.

A man used a katana, a traditional sword used by samurais in Japan, to chase down a group of suspects who were attempting to steal bicycles from a garage in a condominium in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais (a state in Brazil).

Alisson D’jean, who became known as the “Samurai of BH” [Belo Horizonte] went viral when the images won over social networks on Friday the 25th. The robbery attempt, however, occurred on August 13th.

In an interview exclusive to CNN, Alisson says it was his mother who first noticed the robbery, after hearing noises of someone breaking into the garage doors.

The “samurai,” who is a physiotherapist, reported the experience on his Instagram stories, and said he decided to act on his own accord after the military police, according to him, did nothing after three previous break-ins to the condominium [by the same suspects].

After checking the security cameras, the [fourth] invasion was confirmed. The samurai put on some clothes, grabbed the katana, and ran to the elevator, where he met up with the building manager [who was checking the security camera footage on his phone].

“I grabbed this samurai sword, a handmade katana, a weapon of war, really, because I didn’t know what I was walking into, I didn’t know how many [invaders], I didn’t know what kind of weapons they had,” reports the physiotherapist, who says he began using this type of sword almost 30 years ago.

According to Alisson, the decision was taken with the sole intention of protecting himself, his family, and the other building residents. “At no point was I concerned with the bicyles. I don’t even own a bicycle,” he says.

In the images, it’s possible to see Alisson and the building manager in the elevator. After getting out [of the elevator], the “samurai” begins running after the suspects, who, scared, ditch the bicycles and flee. No one was injured. In the days following this incident, no other break-in attempts were reported.

I really hope you don't mind me and my two Lego!babies recreating this? These two must have loved your idea just as much, because this was one of the quickest and smoothest photo shoots of all times! anyway, if you don't know, ive been making a pokemon fangame for the last about 8 months now using pokemon essentials for rpgmaker xp. ive done basically the entire game by myself, including map and game design, drawing custom sprites, arranging remixes of pokemon music in gen 3's sound font to play in the game (which you can hear on my YouTube channel), and programming in the story events and some features of the game (with some occasional help on some script writing from @miamakesmods)

now, ive had this kind of master plan for the story and plot and progression of this game for maybe 6 years now, and this idea has just been simmering in my mind all this time, and i finally took the leap last year to make it happen for real. it takes place on a pacific island region called Isoal that was home to an ancient people who existed before humans and pokemon cooperated, and got by by engineering these devices we now call Runestones, geometric white stones with glowing blue lines that run through them. these people are long gone now, but the Runestones remain littering the island.

ive been putting a lot of myself into this game, little bits and visual gags that i think are funny and charming, here and there there'll be little meta commentary on genre tropes and things that you expect out of the main series. don't mistake my pastiche for disdain though, because i really do this out of love for the series, and i want to make the rest of the gameplay fun and engaging too, because really im trying to make the game that's one that id really want to play myself.

so far, ive released some small private demos of the game to give to ~10 friends to playtest it, and they have all given it very high praise across the board! but soon, i will be releasing version 3.0.0 of the game, which will be its first public demo!! the goal for this demo is to have up to 5 challengeable gyms, about half the game's plot worth of story, a couple side quests and optional content, 7 towns to explore, among other things for you to find if you play it yourself :3

im working really hard on it!! and im putting my all into it!! i hope that when the demo ends up having its public release that you become interested and try giving my little passion project and glimpse into my soul a shot 💖

Btw, I do think That CG from during the battle is amazing. I don’t ship them, but I feel as if Malek sure does 😂 Obviously he doesn’t even slightly deserve Mikael, but still. This CG looks like a masterpiece you’d see up on the dome ceiling of a building from centuries ago, made by some famous painter, and that’s just looks. Not…Malek leaning his chin on the arm of his opponent, the expression on his face and the eye contact, Malek settling his hand on one of Mikael’s that’s wielding the weapon piercing into his body. I like all the details - the lighting, the coloring, the angle - and how they come together, even though I don’t like Malek, lol.

I’m curious!!! Have you played hsr at all?

for a couple months actually!!! i thought it was pretty okay as far as my extremely low standards go, but for some reason, i just,,, didn't have a good time with it. a lot of the appeal of genshin for me is, like, the player's total and untampered ability to fuck around at any and all times, and until honkai gives me the ability to scramble up walls and snipe monsters i know i'm not at a high enough level for from 5000 feet away, i will not be satisfied.
