Basta una parola

Scriveva Abatelunare, una decina di giorni fa, che spesso leggendo un libro si imparano delle parole nuove, e faceva riferimento a un toscanismo: costassù, trovato in una vecchia versione de Il ragazzo di Sycamore di Erskine Caldwell.

A me occorre poco, appena una parola, per impantanarmi in una serie di percorsi da cui poi faccio fatica a uscire; così è stato anche questa volta.

Infatti, in sintesi:

Da toscano conosco e uso la parola costassù, così come anche gli altri avverbi costì, costà, costaggiù; ricordo bene come, una decina di anni fa, me ne chiese il significato una collega, di madrelingua inglese, da poco arrivata a Siena.

Più di recente, saranno passati tre o quattro anni, durante una lettura condivisa de La vita agra del grossetano Luciano Bianciardi, le due amiche con cui leggevo, una di origine siciliana ma da anni a Napoli, l'altra veneta, mi chiesero lumi su due strane parole in cui si erano imbattute in quel testo: costì e costassù.

Ho chiesto ad Abatelunare chi avesse tradotto il libro, sospettando appunto un toscano, e mi ha indicato Marcella Hannau. Il mio sospetto era ben fondato, anche se non corretto, perchè la Hannau era nata a Trieste ma ha avuto frequentazione lunga e anche intima con la Toscana.

Le ricerche fatte mi hanno portato subito in ambiente fiorentino; la Hannau, traduttrice dall'inglese di oltre una settantina di libri, figlia di uno stakholder della Standard Oil, di famiglia ebraica, sposò molto giovane [nel 1921] Corrado Pavolini, nato a Firenze: regista, drammaturgo, critico letterario, poeta, librettista e traduttore. Corrado era figlio del professor Paolo Emilio, traduttore e docente universitario di Sanscrito, nato a Livorno da padre dell'isola d'Elba. La coppia frequentava l'ambiente culturale italiano del tempo: ci sono ad esempio foto degli anni '30, sulla spiaggia di Castiglioncello, sempre in Toscana (Livorno) in compagnia di Luigi Pirandello, Nicola De Pirro, Marta Abba, Maria Stella Labroca e Silvio D'Amico; le due famiglie, Hannau e Pavolini, frequentavano spiaggia, locali e ville di amici nella zona, già dalla fine degli anni 10 dello scorso secolo.

Corrado Pavolini era il fratello del gerarca fascista Alessandro, Ministro della Cultura Popolare e segretario del Partito Fascista.

Alessandro si rifiutò di aiutare il fratello e la cognata Marcella nel momento della promulgazione delle leggi razziali e Corrado e Marcella scapparono a Cortona (Arezzo) rifugiandosi nella villa dell'amico Debenedetti. A Cortona trovarono un buon nascondiglio anche gli Hannau, i genitori di Marcella, a cui offrì riparo il Vescovo, Monsignor Franciolini, direttamente nella sua abitazione.

Cortona piacque così tanto alla coppia Pavolini-Hannau che fecero della villa "del Bacchino" un loro punto di riferimento a guerra finita e poi, dal 1961, la loro residenza. Ecco come, con tutte queste frequentazioni toscane, la Hannau abbia potuto utilizzare parole ancora in uso nell'italiano del tempo, adesso segnalate dalla Treccani come semplici "toscanismi" vista la loro odierna più ristretta circolazione.

Restano da citare, in questi miei giri intorno alla coppia, due notiziuole "rosa": l'infatuazione per Corrado Pavolini, prima da parte di Anna Maria Ortese, poi di una sua carissima amica, Helle Busacca. [Interessante e rivelatrice questa pagina di Dario Biagi]. Su questo ramo della ricerca mi sono fermato, perché infiniti altri percorsi mi si sono aperti, relativi ai personaggi della cultura italiana dell'epoca e dei loro rapporti di amicizia, rivalità od odio.

Nonostante le ricerche sul web, non sono riuscito a trovare informazioni certe sulle date di nascita e di morte di Marcella Hannau; ho pensato allora di utilizzare il Copilot di Microsoft Bing. L'Inintelligenza Artificiale si è data da fare ma le date che cercavo non me le ha recuperate; in compenso ha tratteggiato un profilo, sintetico ma efficace, del marito Corrado. Peccato, però, che, da brava Inintelligenza, si sia confusa e abbia scritto i dati relativi ad Alessandro Pavolini, il gerarca titolare del MinCulPop e Segretario del Partito Nazionale Fascista, che fu processato per collaborazionismo, fucilato e poi esposto, insieme a Mussolini e alla Petacci, a Piazzale Loreto...

i. growing up was difficult for luka, an absent father and an alcoholic mother. he was forced to grow up fast, forced to deal with hardships no kid should. he was the oldest sibling of four and their only caretaker. luka tried his best to make a brighter life for his younger siblings and for the most part he succeeded. making food out of nothing, teaching them self reliance and the ability to enjoy life with little to nothing. despite being the parental figure, his younger siblings taught him as well. they taught him what it meant to love and be loved. taught him what it meant to care for someone with nothing in return. ii. highschool was as easy as it could be with a mother who was always brough chaos and little siblings who relied on him. he had learned how to balance his school life with his home life. cover up any messes and avoid losing his siblings to the system. luka found an outlet through boxing, a way to cope with the cards dealt to him. he joined the football team as a cornerback and while that came with some popularity, he tried his best to keep to himself. while luka did do nefarious things in his teen years, it was all a matter of survival. for the most part, he kept his head down and focused on his real goal. being a positive role model for his siblings and graduating high school. iii. now and days, luka’s siblings are older and don’t need him as much. he’s gone no contact with his mother and after years of quitting various jobs because nothing feels right to him, he’s found being a freelance carpenter at the very least decent. luka’s childhood was an awful time for him but his experiences made him who he is. some days are harder than others, he wakes up angry and frustrated. he’s been through a lot and that’s dulled his spark in life. luka still finds himself going back to his old ways and is still someone who can be easily influenced by money. he will do most things if it means he never has to know what it feels like to have nothing again. some days, he thinks it would be easier to move out of westhaven. other days, he’s coming up with business plans. the next day, he thinks it would just be easier to live the fast life. however, he does know what matters most to him and that’s the people closest to him.

The 2000 Philippine Peso Bill were in circulation?

Inspired by the 2000 Philippine Peso Commemorative Bill issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in the year 2000 to mark the arrival of the new millennium and commemorate the 100th anniversary of Philippine independence (1898–1998).

It is one of the rarest and largest-denomination banknotes ever issued in the country.

The front features a vertical layout, a unique characteristic that distinguishes it from other Philippine banknotes. It displays the oath taking of the President Joseph Ejercito Estrada at Barasoain Church on June 10, 1998. It also shows the scroll of the Malolos Constitution with the inscription "September 15, 1898" and the Barasoain Church in the background.

The back of the original bill showcases the the reenactment of the declaration of Philippine Independence at Aguinaldo's Shrine in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 1898 of former President Fidel V. Ramos to mark the Centennial of Philippine Independence with the logo of Philippine Centennial Commission.

Friedrich Schwarz é um arquiteto renomado e visionário que projetou alguns dos edifícios mais emblemáticos do mundo. Ele é amplamente conhecido por sua criatividade, paixão pela sustentabilidade e seu compromisso em criar espaços que inspirem as pessoas. Nascido em uma família bem sucedida na Alemanha, se interessou pela arte e pelo design desde cedo. Estudou arquitetura na Technische Universität Berlin e, após se formar, trabalhou em diversos escritórios de arquitetura renomados até finalmente fundar sua própria empresa, chamada IdeenHaus, com o objetivo de criar espaços que sejam ao mesmo tempo bonitos e funcionais.

E não foi só na vida profissional que o senhor Schwarz prosperou: três anos após ter fundado a IdeenHaus, casou-se e teve três lindos filhos. Entre muitas brigas e discussões, conseguiu ficar com o garoto até os doze anos, idade com a qual, segundo as informações contidas na carta deixada para ele, era permitido ingressar no tal Acampamento Meio-Sangue. Desta forma, seu filho Alexander iria morar com uns tios em Nova Iorque e, durante o período de férias escolares, passaria um tempo no Acampamento para treinar suas habilidades.

Quando chegou ao lugar destinado aos semideuses, levou aproximadamente dois meses para ser reconhecido por sua mãe e, honestamente, se questionava o porquê demorou tanto para a deusa da sabedoria se pronunciar. Foram longos dias de treinamento árduo e, durante a transição para o nível três, Zander acreditou por um momento que ficaria para sempre no segundo nível. No entanto, tal dificuldade lhe serviu como inspiração para iniciar uma profissão no mundo mortal como personal trainer. Desta forma, estaria cada vez mais focado em aumentar sua força e resistência, consequentemente lhe preparando para enfrentar os desafios que viriam pela frente.

Hoje em dia, Alexander mantém uma frequência baixa de correspondência com o pai, mas eles ainda se falam. Apesar dele não ter seguido no ramo da família, o homem se orgulha pelo filho ter conseguido conciliar bem uma vida “normal” com seus deveres de semideus.
