Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier
How would you rate your experience, on a scale of 1 to 5?
1 2 3 4 5
Detailed feedback here.
The capabilities of the E.M.M.I robots I encountered were extremely impressive. I cannot fault the abilities of Excellion to produce a powerful and capable scout robot.
However, I must nevertheless object in the most strenuous possible fashion to other aspects of the robot.
Specifically, their data security is extremely poor. During my recent experiences, all seven of the E.M.M.I robots sent to the world of ZDR were successfully taken over and hacked, reprogrammed and reconfigured so as to specifically target me and attempt to remove a genetic sample from either my head or my torso, using a spike approximately as large as my leg.
In addition, their communication systems are entirely too easy to jam. Despite an encounter with an enemy equipped with a full warsuit raiment comparable to my own, no information was broadcast by any E.M.M.I unit in this respect.
What other changes, if any, would improve your experience and satisfaction?
Remove the giant spike and make it vulnerable to advanced weapons. These are scout robots intended to detect and sample unusual biology. They are not intended to be able to defeat an armoured division.
Yes, I know I said that they tried to kill me. They were not successful. That doesn’t make me any less annoyed.
Additional comments:
I would be interested in ordering one E.M.M.I and using it as a target for orbital bombardment. I will be billing the Galactic Federation for this, under the category of ‘therapy’.

In an Alternate Timeline
Raven Beak wakes up not surrounded by the wreckage of Itorash nor on ZDR...But aboard a ship.
Samus:Anyway the whole thing was a disaster...Your E.M.M.I's did not make it. ???: Do you not understand the gravity of this situation? HUH? Those Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifiers were not cheap to make! Samus: AH Bill me the difference I got other stuff on my plate! ???: Why yo- Samus: That's enough of that. Raven Beak: Pardon me but, what are you doing? Samus: Heading home. Raven Beak: Besides that daughter dearest. what are you doing taking me alive? I'm pretty sure I should be dead right now. Waaaaaaaait... Samus: ...Ah boy here we go. Raven Beak: Are you trying to redeem me? Oh that is just RICH after all I've done? C'mon Honey let's not fool ourselves now. Samus: Yep Raven Beak: Okay so what? You take me back to...what a planetoid you commandeered and expect me, Raven Beak,The APEX of the Mawkin, to just Behave myself? Samus: Mmmmhmmm... Raven Beak:...You know your track record against me is pretty abyssal. I won both! Samus: And lost your suit and Aeion abilities Raven Beak: And that...Makes me a non threat? Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier, or E.M.M.I.
Metroid Dread (2021) / Mercury Steam
Nintendo Switch
"An Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier—or E.M.M.I.—is a highly agile research robot equipped with the ability to extract DNA. The Galactic Federation dispatched several to the uncharted planet ZDR in order to research the X parasite, a lifeform with mimicking capabilities. But, somehow, the E.M.M.I. on ZDR went dark." - Metroid Dread Report

"Wait a minute, this would imply that @real-samus-aran impregnated an Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier (E.M.M.I.), seeing as the other two couples have kids?"

Metroid Dread Revives Classic Boss Monster and Unleashes Mysterious Chozo Villain
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Metroid Dread is an unexpected new installment in the original mainline series that goes all the way back to the Samus Aran’s debut on the NES in 1986. Picking up threads from Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid, and Metroid Fusion, the new 2D side-scroller follows Samus on the trail of the X parasite once again. After the Galactic Federation loses contact with an EMMI (Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifiers) unit sent to investigate the planet ZDR, where the X parasite from Fusion is rumored to have survived, Samus takes on the mission herself, and quickly finds dangers and terrors unimaginable.
“The series has chronicled the uncanny relationship between Metroids [parasitic life-forms that can we weaponized] and the heroine Samus, but this game will mark and end to that story arc,” said game designer Yoshio Sakamoto in a developer diary released during E3 2021.
In the trailer for the game, we learn that the EMMI have gone rogue and are hunting Samus as she investigates the planet. Why have the EMMI turned evil? The X parasite could definitely be the culprit.
“A terrifyingly lethal parasite that takes over organic creatures, mimicking them afterward based on their genetic information,” the X parasite previously infected Samus in Fusion, and copied her DNA to create an evil version of Samus. Could the X have infected the EMMI, too?
But the EMMI and the X parasite aren’t the only enemies Samus will have to defeat if she hopes to survive her latest adventure. A new trailer released today has shed light on some of the other threats in the game, including a major blast from the past as well as a mystery Chozo villain with deep ties to the Metroids. Watch it below:
Yes, that’s the giant, killer lizard Kraid from Metroid and Super Metroid, back from the dead for one more battle with Samus. A close associate of Samus’ dragon-like archenemy Ridley, Kraid is a high-ranking member of the Space Pirates who have been a constant thorn in our hero’s side since the beginning of the series. Once again, the behemoth and ruler of Brinstar towers over Samus, who is likely in for quite the fight.

More curious is the other villain introduced in the trailer, a heavily-armored Chozo character identified only as “Chozo general,” a mysterious character who was first referenced in the “Chozo Memories” players could unlock by completing challenges in Samus Returns, a 3DS remake of the Metroid II. The cryptic memories showed how the Chozo general participated in the final extermination of the Chozo people living on the planet SR388, the home world of the titular Metroids.
In Dread, Samus will first encounter the Chozo general in the Artaria region of ZDR, and by the looks of the trailer, she won’t be much of a match for the ancient villain. Undoubtedly, players will have to collect a few upgrades and learn new abilities throughout the adventure to match up to this Chozo warrior later in the game.
Metroid Dread is out on Oct. 8 for Nintendo Switch.

Metroid Dread: When in Samus’ Timeline Does the Game Take Place?
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Metroid Dread, a game more than 15 years in the making, is finally releasing this year from Nintendo. Not only does the new entry in the series revive a project originally conceived for the DS but it picks up story threads left over from 2002’s Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy Advance. But, while Metroid Dread certainly feels like a 2D blast from the past, this new side-scroller is actually primed to explore Samus’ future, according to game designer Yoshio Sakamoto.
“Continuing the saga that began in 1986 with Metroid and continued through Metroid II, Super Metroid, and Metroid Fusion, this is the first new story and new episode for the series in 19 years,” Sakamoto said of Metroid Dread in a developer diary released after the Nintendo Direct. “The series has chronicles the uncanny relationship between Metroids [parasitic life-forms that can we weaponized] and the heroine Samus, but this game will mark and end to that story arc.”
Indeed, for those wondering when in Samus’ timeline this new game takes place, one only has to look to the “Metroid 5” Nintendo teased on the screen (likely to troll fans waiting for Metroid Prime 4 news) to see that it’s set after every other Metroid game in the series, including Fusion, which is technically “Metroid 4.” While it’s unclear how many years have passed between Fusion and Dread, we know that the Metroids have all been destroyed by this point but the more recently discovered X parasite remains a threat.
In fact, it’s the potential resurgence of the X parasite, which Samus seemingly destroyed in Fusion, that convinces the Galactic Federation to send a unit of EMMI (Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifiers) to the remote planet ZDR.
“Soon after arriving on ZDR, the whole unit mysteriously vanished,” writes Samus in a fictional log entry that introduces the game’s story. “Does the X truly still exist? And just what is happening on ZDR? It’s up to me, the only one immune to the X parasite, to go find out…”
In the trailer for the game, we learn that the EMMI have gone rogue and are hunting Samus as she investigates the planet.
“The word ‘Dread’ in the title is self-explanatory,” Sakamoto said of the game’s title. “It represents a relentless threat that pursues the seemingly invincible Samus Aran.”
But the EMMI are ultimately only a piece of the bigger mystery involving Samus’ “uncanny relationship” with dangerous parasites. Why is her life destined to be so intertwined with two of the most dangerous parasites in the galaxy? And why are they always making copies of her? Perhaps we’ll get an answer as Nintendo concludes this story arc 35 years in the making.
Metroid Dread hits Nintendo Switch on Oct. 8.
