Reasons why Olivia Benson should’ve been a girl mum

(This is my opinion pls don’t hate)

1. a) Probably the biggest reason is Olivia’s own story of being a daughter. Her relationship with her own mother was rocky and unstable. She was barely parented, though her mother loved her, Olivia had to carry the burden of being a constant reminder of her mother’s rape and Serena never let her forget that. This is why it would have been so good if Olivia had a daughter so she could heal through that and break the cycle of abuse, (not that she’s not doing that with Noah) because mother-daughter relationships are so different from mother-son relationships.

1. b) Through her own experience and through her job she’s learned what not to do as a trauma survivor and as a mother and having that full circle opportunity to impart love and mothering on a girl would have been so beautifully poetic and so powerful. Especially for other girls watching who have similar lives to see that it can be different. They could show how mothers have a profound impact of girls self esteem and give so many girls hope.

2. Liv is SUCH a girls girl. She takes every opportunity she can to uplift the women she works with, her female friends, victims, even when she disagrees with them (the maga vic) she will go to war for women. Seeing her raise a girl like that would just be 😚👌🏾

3. The fashionnnnn! Olivia Benson is the inventor of cvnt okay it’s actually a crime that she doesn’t have the chance to carry on that legacy😭 like yeah you can see she’s teaching Noah how to dress but can you imagine her teaching her daughter how to do her hair and makeup and what kind of heels to wear for different events??? Who’s she gonna pass on her blazer collection to??? (I’d like to volunteer as tribute) WHO’S SHE GONNA PASS HER BOOTS COLLECTION TO???

4. I get the nuance behind her raising a boy and being an example of how changing the way we raise boys can change the landscape of male violence but I think it would’ve been even more effective if she also had a daughter.

5. If she had a daughter I could play her and I think that’s just the biggest reason to me tbh.

• Dazzle meanwhile likes to watch fun hair and makeup and toy videos with Sun or Earth. She also likes to watch "kid science" stuff with her uncle moony. ((They're gonna make bottle rockets next weekend))

• the kids are NEVER shown by face if the adults post a video for personal reasons, but they do occasionally get heard in the backgrounds.

i love a good slow burn but i need elliot to step aside so y/n and max can get their shared shit together because they’re basically married. it’s like the one episode in the nanny where fran’s mom asks her, “do you live with him? do you take care of his kids? do you have sex?” and fran says yes to all but the last one so her mom goes, “so you’re married.” like y/n’s case with the kids would be the cats😭
