Want to move to Japan? Me too! A while ago, I made a post with some key vocabulary for navigating Japanese real estate websites. This time, I'd like to highlight vocabulary that will help you refine the search results until you find the perfect house.

After selecting the property type and narrowing down the area to search, you'll eventually be presented with a list of houses. Here's a convenient link to a list of houses in Tokyo so you can follow along: TOKYO(SUUMO)

Search & Sort Functions

The orange number at the top of the screen tells you how many total properties were found with your search.

The upper options all have to do with displaying the search results.

Because public transit is so common in Japan, you also have the option to choose how far away from a train station your house is.

Through the Shadows of Danger

The mission is risky and everything could go wrong. Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr, and their gifriend Y/N are in an abandoned building occupied by enemy forces. Their goal is to secure crucial information that could affect the course of the war. But the enemies are numerous and well-prepared.

“We need to act quickly,” says Charles, his voice tense. “The information must not fall into the wrong hands,” he adds.

“Understood,” Erik replies, closing his eyes to focus his magnetic powers. “I’ll clear the way,” he says.

Y/N nods and prepares to fend off the enemies. “I’ll secure the door while you find the data,” she says.

The plan seems straightforward enough, but as they approach the central room, the situation becomes critical. A sudden noise makes all three of them alert. Enemy soldiers flood into the hallway, and it becomes clear that they have been discovered.

“Charles, Erik, we’ve got company,” warns Y/N as the first bullets fly through the air.

Charles concentrates and tries to telepathically influence the enemy soldiers to slow them down. Erik raises his arm, and a stream of metal parts flies through the air to block the enemies. But the situation quickly escalates. An enemy soldier shoots Y/N in the leg, and she collapses to the ground in pain.

“Y/N!” Charles exclaims in shock, and his control over his telepathic abilities falters. The pain and fear drive him to his limits.

Erik sees Y/N injured and loses control over his powers. His strength becomes wild and uncontrollable, metal parts flying through the air and striking the enemies with tremendous force. The room fills with chaos as Erik and Charles combine their powers to overwhelm the foes. The enemies stagger and fall as Erik and Charles push their abilities to the maximum.

“Erik, Charles!” Y/N cries out, her voice weak. “I can’t take it anymore, it hurts,” she says weakly.

Charles struggles to focus as the telepathic connection with Y/N becomes fragile. “Stay with us!” Charles shouts.

Erik turns to Y/N, who is still on the ground. “You can’t give up! We’re getting you out of here!” Erik yells.

The enemies are now subdued, and the room is a wreckage of metal and chaos. Charles and Erik are exhausted, but they have won the fight. They rush to Y/N, whose face is contorted in pain.

“Let me see,” says Charles, kneeling beside Y/N and gently placing his hands on her leg. He begins using his telepathic abilities to ease her pain. “Erik, we need to get her out of this building as quickly as possible. Can you clear a path for us?” Charles asks.

“I’ll do whatever it takes,” Erik replies determinedly. “Give me a moment,” he says.

With one final effort, Erik moves aside metal debris and creates a clear exit. Charles carefully lifts Y/N, and together they make their way out.

“We’ll make it. We’ll get you to safety,” Charles whispers reassuringly as they navigate through the rubble.

Y/N looks around weakly, but a faint smile appears on her lips. “Thank you… both of you,” she whispers.

The three continue until they reach the exterior. Exhausted and injured, but safe. Charles and Erik support Y/N while they wait for the rescue team.

The mission was a success, but the price was high. At this moment, only one thing matters: that they are together and Y/N is safe.

The dimly lit safehouse buzzed with nervous energy.Y/n, clad in her usual black jeans and combat boots, paced before a worn leather couch where the rest of her crew lounged. Felix, her ever-present partner-in-crime and maybe something more though they'd never admit it outright, fiddled with a silenced pistol, it’s sleek black frame catching the dim light.

"Alright, crew," Chan announced, his voice sharp. "Tonight's the night. Let's run the plan one last time."

They huddled closer, voices murmuring as they went over the details.Y/n, alias Tiffany Kim, daughter of a tech billionaire a carefully crafted lie for tonight, would infiltrate the high-society fundraiser thrown by Mark, the arrogant secret arms dealer who held the key to their mission.

"Tech here," Seungmin piped up, holding a sleek black earpiece. "Comms are crystal clear.Y/n, this bad boy will let you hear everything we're saying and vice versa."

She took the earpiece, the familiar cool plastic a source of comfort. Testing it, she spoke, "Can you hear me?"

A chorus of affirmations rose from the group. "Loud and clear," Felix said, his voice a steady rumble. "Remember, y/n, get close to Mark. Charm him, distract him, whatever it takes. We need that key."

She grinned, a dangerous glint in her eyes. "Charming billionaires? Piece of cake."

They ran through the escape route, Felix pointing out the security cameras they'd disabled and the quickest way to their getaway van. The tension crackled in the air, a mix of fear and excitement. They were about to steal from the thief, reclaiming what was rightfully theirs – the weapons Mark had stolen from their gang.

Later, bathed in the garish glow of the ballroom, she navigated the sea of socialites with practiced ease. Her gown swished around her ankles. Mark, a walking cliché in a polished suit, approached, his eyes sweeping over her with a practiced appraisal.

She forced a smile, laying on the charm as thick as the caviar on a nearby platter. "Well, hello there, beautiful," Mark drawled, his cologne a disgusting presence in her nostrils. The act was loathsome but necessary.

"Why, hello yourself," she purred, her voice dripping with feigned sweetness. They waltzed to the deafening music, his every touch sending a shiver down her spine, a mix of disgust and the need to stay in character.

"You have eyes like gold," Mark declared, leaning in a little too close. "The kind that could pierce a man's soul and steal all his secrets." She fought back an eye roll. Was this supposed to be romantic?

"Oh, really?" she countered, batting her eyelashes for maximum effect. "Perhaps they can steal the key to your heart as well, Mr. ?"

"Mark," he supplied, puffing out his chest in a way that made him look like he was lifting heavyweights "Mark Lee, at your service, beautiful lady."

Y/n choked back a laugh. "Damn, How cringe." He said through the earpiece, Felix's voice cracklings with amusement. “That's gotta be the worst pick-up line I've ever heard.”

She stifled a smile. Tell me about it she thought. She focused back on Mark, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, Mr.Lee, perhaps you can show me some of your… treasures later?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

Mark's eyes widened, and a flush crept up his neck. Bingo. She thought, feeling a surge of satisfaction. This was going to be easier than she thought. As they twirled, y/n focused on the conversation Felix fed through the earpiece, their plan unfolding in real time. Her heart pounded in her chest, mimicking the rhythm of the music. Then, with a practiced flick of her wrist, she snagged the key from his pocket while they spun. Success. A silent thrill surged through her. The booming bass of the music seemed to vibrate the very floor beneath her feet. Through the earpiece, Felix's voice was a constant murmur, keeping her focused on the task at hand. Mark, thankfully oblivious, babbled about his latest yacht acquisition.

Suddenly, the air shimmered with a change in energy. She felt hair prickle on the back of her neck. A hush fell over the crowd, the music stuttering to a halt. Then, the ballroom doors exploded inward with a deafening bang.

Ateez, their most ruthless rivals, flooded the room. Their faces, twisted with murderous intent, scanned the sea of terrified socialites. Guns, a chilling army of black metal, rose in unison, trained on the unsuspecting crowd.

Panic ripped through the air. Screams rose, a cacophony of terror drowning out the remnants of the music.Y/n, momentarily frozen, felt a hand clamp around her wrist. Felix, his face a mask of cold fury, yanked her towards a strategically placed side door behind a towering potted plant.

"Go!" he barked, his voice a harsh rasp over the din. She stumbled the stolen key digging painfully into her palm.

"Felix, we need–" she spluttered, desperation warring with a burgeoning fear.

"No arguments!" he snarled, shoving her through the heavy oak door. It slammed shut behind her with a sickening thud, plunging her into the cool darkness of a deserted hallway. The faint thump of Felix's boots echoed against the floor as he disappeared back into the pandemonium.

Y/n sprinted, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Her dress, ridiculously impractical, caught on a loose wood board, ripping at the hem. She ignored it, driven by the primal need to get away. Behind her, the ballroom erupted in chaos. Shouts, gunfire, and shattering glass formed a terrifying symphony.

Reaching a pre-arranged meeting point, a back door leading to a collection of fire escapes, she collapsed against the wall. Her heart hammered a frantic rhythm against her ribs. Relief, heavy and sweet, washed over her, laced with a sickening dread. Felix. Where was he?

His voice, rough and laced with concern, crackled in her earpiece. "Y/n, are you alright?"

She lunged for the microphone, her voice raw. "Felix, I'm here. But you—"

His reply was a guttural sound, a mixture of pain and determination. "Get back to the safe house. I'll meet you there."

The line went dead. Fear, cold and primal, coiled in her stomach. Felix. He couldn't be hurt. Not him. Not after everything.

Ignoring the tremors in her legs, she pushed herself up and sprinted into the night. The stolen key felt heavy in her hand. Maybe she had gotten the key, but at what cost?

Minutes bled into an eternity as she navigated the back alleys. Finally, she reached the safe house, a small building cloaked in shadows. The heavy steel door creaked open before she even knocked.

There, in the dim light, stood Felix. His Face was soft and a dark stain bloomed on his silk white shirt. Yet, his eyes, the familiar fiery, held an unwavering softness.

He pulled her into a crushing hug, the metallic tang of blood mingling with the familiar scent of his cologne. In that moment, the world around them faded away. There was only him, her anchor in the storm and the unspoken promise that hung heavy in the air.

"Always behind you," he rasped, his voice thick with emotion. "Ride or die, remember?"

Her tears stinging her eyes could only manage a shaky nod. A genuine smile bloomed on her face. "Now let's go get our weapons back, baby," he murmured, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips before he closed the gap between them.

The winter holidays were coming up and Becca suggested to Bucky they go someplace with their cousins for Hanukkah; skiing, she thought.

"We can pile into my van," Becca insisted.

"You want two guys over six feet to squeeze into your backseat?" Bucky asked her in exasperation.

"You don't have to be in the back!" Becca retorted. "One of you could sit up front ––"

"It's a five-hour drive," Bucky cut her off, "you want me to make my poor baby sit away from me?"

Steve rolled his eyes. "Buck," he said chidingly.

"Shh!" Bucky said, wrapping both arms around him and covering his mouth. "Don't question it."

"What else are you gonna do?" Becca asked. "Drive all the way to Vermont on Steve's bike? In the snow?"

"Well," Bucky started reluctantly.

Steve raised a hand, eyebrows, too. Bucky uncovered his mouth.

"We could take my car," Steve suggested.

"You have a car?" Bucky and Becca replied together in disbelief.

"Yeah," Steve said with a chuckle, "it's in long-term parking at Stark Tower."

"So we take two cars," Becca said.

"No, my car seats eight," Steve added, "it's an SUV, and it's even meant to drive in blizzards."

"Oh," Becca said.

"I didn't realize you could drive a car," Bucky said numbly.

"Daddy, I can drive a tank," Steve said and Bucky nodded with raised eyebrows, impressed. "I'll drive and Becca can sit up front to navigate," Steve continued.

"What about me?" Bucky asked indignantly.

"You can squeeze into the back," Steve said cheekily.

"That works," Becca said with a grin. "And, hey, Steve, would you mind doing the Captain America Righteous Anger thing in case my ex shows up?"

"Ricky's trying to come?" Bucky immediately demanded.

Steve cracked his knuckles. "I can do that. Do you care if he gets a few broken bones?"

"Yes," Becca said quickly. "But you can threaten to break a maximum of two bones."

"That's specific," Steve noted.

"I kinda had to do a month in Riker's 'cause I broke a couple of his bones," Bucky admitted.

"I feel like he's less likely to try to get you arrested," Becca added.

Steve looked between them, then wrapped around Bucky's waist and squeezed tightly. "I don't do prison well," he hissed. “I mean it literally, been there once, it did not go well.”

Bucky squeezed him back and kissed his hair, not needing Steve to elaborate on that. "Don't threaten anybody, then."

"Gotcha," Steve muttered.

"Anyway," Becca continued, "you pick us up Saturday morning, we drive to the lodge, and voila, eight days of Hanukkah with the cousins."

"Wait, cousins?" Steve questioned.

"You have every right to hide behind your daddy," Bucky told him quickly, "nobody's gonna be upset if you're shy."

"Believe me, you can hide with Benny," Becca added. "It's fine."

Steve looked put at ease and leaned on Bucky's shoulder with a smile. Bucky squeezed his waist and kissed his forehead.

"I'll pack snacks, too," Becca continued. "And how much gas do you think the trip will take?"

"Don't worry about it," Steve told her, "I have too much money to know what to do with, it's no problem."

"If you insist," Becca agreed easily. "So, I think we're all set? Bucky, you got Ma's menorah and stuff?"

"Yup," Bucky said. "All good."

"Good," Becca concluded. "I gotta get going, I'll see you guys on Saturday."

"Alright," Bucky answered, getting up to walk her out. "Tell the kids we said hi."

"Sure," Becca said. "Bye, Steve!"

"Bye!" Steve called as Bucky opened the front door for Becca.

"I'll let myself out," Becca added to Bucky. "Bye."

"See you," Bucky said, waving his sister out.

He shut the door behind her and walked back to the couch. Steve sprawled out over the couch and Bucky swung a leg over him, straddling his lap.

"You have an SUV," Bucky started. "And you're covering gas for the whole trip. You know how sweet that is?"

Steve flushed. "How many kids are gonna be there?"

Bucky grinned. "Planning on buying all'a 'em gifts?"

"I mean, I can afford to," Steve mumbled shyly, "why not?"

Bucky pressed a kiss to his lips. "We got four cousins coming," he said softly, "three of them have kids, but one of them is a new baby. So, one baby, there's two kids under five, three are in elementary school, and the oldest is twelve."

"What do you get kids for Hanukkah?" Steve asked.

"I'll give you a list," Bucky promised. "As long as you give me a list of what you want."

"I don't need anything," Steve said quickly.

"Did I ask what you needed?" Bucky countered gently, hooking a finger through the O-ring on Steve’s collar to pull him closer.

Steve blushed again. "No," he mumbled.

"No," Bucky repeated, then kissed his forehead. "So, you'd better give me a list of what you want, little boy, or you'll earn yourself a spanking."

"Yessir," Steve mumbled, blushing brighter.

"Good boy," Bucky told him, pressing their lips together again.
