Yes - we were on a cruise. We were safe and not at home - but she didn't know that. She was completely unaware of that. She knows where we live. She knew that her son was potentially in the path of a category 4 hurricane.

Also, One Piece fans are very hypocritical. They criticise Harry Potter fans for saying ‘Rowling hates transgender people, what wimps you are, you can't stop writing about GP on your blogs’. And they themselves actively promote the content of a paedophile and his defenders.

I think you're mixing up two very different things here.

First of all, I had no idea Oda had done that? To be honest, I'm not really up to date on scandals between mangakas because I’ve never gotten that deep into any anime fandom (well, that’s a lie: I did with the Nana fandom), but anyway, this is the first I’ve heard of it and… really? Ugh, I honestly didn’t expect it? But at the same time, I’m not surprised? I mean, pedophilia and Japan is something that seems way too normalized.

The thing is, I don’t think that has anything to do with what you’re saying about the fandom? Like, I’ve never seen posts from the One Piece fandom saying anything about the Harry Potter fandom. And I haven’t seen any Reddit threads in the One Piece subs talking about Harry Potter, either.
