Thinking about how Victim only cares about Chosen. Thinking about how the room was papered with articles and magazines and everything all centered on only one half of the equation. Thinking about how the posters were only for Chosen.

It could just be because we are seeing it from Victim's eyes. He and Agent only saw Chosen, so they are going to focus their efforts on him. There could be more articles and things about Dark.

But what if I've been thinking of it all backwards. I thought Dark was the manical vessel of destruction, with Chosen being more of a ghost who few people see, because of his reluctance to hurt people. And maybe that becomes the case later on.

But maybe I got it wrong. Maybe Dark's form of destruction was a little less flashy. Or maybe Chosen had a wider field of effect, with his arsenal of powers.

Maybe Chosen really was the face of destruction.

yeah i wasn’t kidding when i said these would be coming soon. <- haha funny joke marshall. so!! remember when i said that this post would be coming out last weekend? guess whose tablet broke a few days after saying that! so sorry for the delay!! this is long overdue. here’s a link to the drive, as always! everything in this part of the update should be in the miscellaneous folder (outside of the menu icons, which are in the menu folder. wauaua).

so! all of this was already done by the time i posted the enemies. the delay isn’t *entirely* because of the tablet issues, i just managed to get distracted by making: even more redraws! i’d say new update soon but after what happened last time i shouldn’t jinx myself. but! almost All of the art for the initial mod release is done!!!! exciting!!!!!!

please be nice to me (silly) this is my first time doing frame by frame animation in… give or take 5 years? i followed the original animations pretty closely, so they don’t look Awful but i am Aware of the jank. i’m not an animator!!! they’re Good Enough for my purposes.

hey did you know that the original teleport map is slightly off center. did you know that. that’s not the case for the redraw for the record but it did make things a little harder. despite that, i think you can tell i was having fun with the dormont part of the map. i would’ve put more detail into the house, but we never really get a more detailed look at it??? and i didn’t want to make assumptions. so that part’s just traced from the original 👍. anyways shoutout to the clocktower being Curved for whatever reason

outside of those, all of the added art is actually just spritework. i didn’t know this at first, but there’s a TON of copies of sprites from the icon set. Basically Everywhere. so those are added now! and should work properly! also added a few sprites that were Missing from my original batch. not going to put them all here, but a few Important ones (which i actually had to make new art for) are the rock paper scissors cheatsheet, the Larger versions of the craft signs (used in the calamité fight and. probably somewhere else idk), and the craft signs for the tutorial kid fight!

aaaand i think that’s it! for stuff from this update. yeah no there’s more coming buddy. my tablet already broke one time this week there’s no way it’s happening twice. i’m not working on portraits Just Yet (though the temptation has been There), but i’ve got the title screens, a few backgrounds, and the ending cgs done! along with a few other assorted cgs sketched out. because im out of my fucking mind. so, uh, see you soon!! enjoy!!

have to imagine viago isn’t thrilled about the rook de riva/lucanis relationship or at least isn’t in my worldstate primarily because it would be very funny to me but also because 1) he disapproves of everything my rook does on principle 2) proximity to any first talon is dangerous enough generally and specifically he’d put lucanis’s life expectancy as first talon at around five years tops if he’s feeling generous and 3) lucanis threatened to kill him once by “gifting” him a knife of overtly intimidating high quality

Yesterday I saw the video from a couple of years ago of Christopher Eccleston saying that one of the next doctors should be played by Billie Piper. And if you liked the final episode or not, if you’re excited about that regeneration, if you agree with him, or if you hate it all, I don’t care. Not my point.

There was a comment that said “it makes sense that he would regenerate into Rose because she is the last person the Doctor loved.”

And it’s been bugging me so much.

Because you can’t watch this show and seriously believe that Rose Tyler, from seasons one and two, is the last person the Doctor, now on season 16 (technically), loved. You can love her how much you want and prefer her relationship with the Doctor over all the others, I’m not here to politic how you like a character, but you can’t morph a show into your own version losing its greatness.

Even if you don’t ship them, you can’t deny that the Doctor loved River. And Clara. And Yaz. And Martha and Donna, Amy and Rory, Bill, Ryan and Graham, Ruby and Belinda. Jenny. The various Masters.

The Doctor loves so much. That’s the point.

They love people and lose people and don’t always deal with the grief in a healthy way. Sometimes they spend decades on a cloud in Victorian England, other times they go through a confession dial for 4.5 billion years. They run away. They cry, scream, get themselves killed. And they do this because they love. With all their hearts.

And it’s such a disservice to the Doctor to reduce all of their love to one character that yes, they loved very much, but that is gone and has been gone for 15 years.

TNBK is fun because you get to tell your friends its a romcom about the son of Santa Claus and the heir of Halloween winding up in a rivals to lovers when they’re supposed to be competing for a girl’s hand in marriage. And then you watch them get hit with Godfather!Santa and a familial coup d’etat in the middle of a Denny’s.
