365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…

January 23rd - Samurai 

Toshio Eto had been a renown professor of medieval Japanese history before he became a superhero.  He was struck by beam of light originating from the planet New Genesis.  The beam was orchestrated by Highfather of the New Gods for the purposes of creating new heroes to defend earth from the forces of the villainous Darkseid.  Eto was bestowed the ability to control the wind and generate swirling torrents enabling flight.  Along with this aerokinesis, he could also turn invisible, cast illusions and summon a katana sword composed of yellow electricity.  Eto took on the name ‘Samurai’ and fought alongside The Justice League against the forces of Apocalypse.  Samurai initially appeared in the Super Friends cartoon series; his first comic book appearance in the main DC Universe was in the pages of DC One Million 80-Page Giant (1999).
