Book of Exodus - resources
My pastor asked me for resources on the Book of Exodus, so I compiled a list of the various things I read/wrote for an exegesis of exodus course back in seminary....i figured i would share it here too in case anyone was interested!
i’ve included links that lead to PDFs of the articles on google drive.
My own works:
If you ever wanna use something I wrote, just let me know! And don’t plagiarize me please lmao
An outline of the Book of Exodus
“Exodus 4:10-13 - A competing voice on disability in the Hebrew Bible” -- this paper is like, my magnum opus haha. i argue in favor of Moses being a disabled figure and discuss how his disability interacts with the rest of his story + how disability was viewed in biblical Israel
Here are links to two of the articles I used to argue that Moses has a speech impairment: “Mosaic Disability and Identity,” “Heavy of Mouth and Heavy of Tongue”
“God’s role in trauma recovery in the Book of Exodus” -- connects the Divine Name to the Israelites’ slow work of recovery + connects contemporary scholarship on trauma, especially the generational trauma of African Americans, to the Exodus text
My translations of Exodus passages, with word studies -- if you like knowing about the Hebrew of a text, here ya go!
Exodus 1:8-22
Exodus 2:1-10
Exodus 3:9-15
Exodus 4:10-13
Exodus chapter 5 + chapter 6:1-9
Exodus 12:28-32
Exodus 13: 1-2, 11-16
Exodus 14:1-12
Exodus 15:19-21
Exodus 20:1-17
Exodus 21:1-11
Exodus 22:28-29
Exodus 32:1-8
Texts that offer introductory material, commentaries

Book / commentary: Brevard S. Childs, The Book of Exodus (Old Testament Library Series)
