There should be a Doom TV show and this is my idea for it.

Doom 1, Doom 2, and Doom 64 would be faithfully remade in a 3 season, fairly short MA 15+ series with a very heavy focus on well-choreographed action, detailing the Doomguy’s three act journey through the Phobos and Deimos UAC facilities and fighting through Hell in S1, his mission to save the Earth from Hell in S2, and his eventual acceptance of a life in Hell in S3.

The early portrayal of Doomguy would be based on the Doom comic, with the first episode of S1 leaning all the way into the over-the-top 90s action hero shenanigans that you might see Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a part in. Meanwhile, every other episode would progressively get more personal and increasingly horrific, culminating, of course, in the Doomguy kneeling over the head of his pet bunny amongst what’s left of his home town.

More in S2 and the most in S3, I’d want the show to focus on visual storytelling. The Doomguy refusing his helmet, speaking more, and being more careful and tactical with his fighting style would reflect him being closer to humanity than the demons, which only growl and scream and fight with brutal conviction.

The less the Doomguy talks, the more he wears his helmet, and the more brutal his tactics become, the more the Doomguy pulls away from his humanity and towards the demons, his lust for their destruction mirroring their own, culminating in S3’s ending, where the Doomguy would refuse the portal out of hell, deciding that the demonic realm is the only place he belongs.

Either Alan Ritchson or John Cena would be the choices to play the Doomguy, I’d pick John Cena due to his physical appearance and his role as the Peacemaker.

#I’d also want an episode dedicated to House of Leaves and MyHouse.WAD #S1 can have the peak moment of Doomguy ranting about protecting the environment #because of course #doom #Doomguy #doom slayer #I know people like Doomguy being the silent protagonist that you can project some of your personality into as you play the game #but that doesn’t really work in a medium where you can only watch the character in action and come to understand them #in that regard I’d love to see this gun-lusted uber-masculine psycho be tempered through bloodshed and surreal horror #and actually TURN INTO the Doomguy everybody loves #just a full tonal shift between S1 and S3 #I also really REALLY love the suit Doomguy has in that Doom comic so I’d base the general suit design on that

Can't get that one background line from the Project Wingman dlc's first mission out of my head. The one by Vita that's like "this was all done by one fighter?" with so much disbelief. It feels like a line that's supposed to introduce the main antagonist and the threat they will pose to your side. There's also something very fun about hearing this sort of line said by your side as opposed to hearing it in enemy com chatter in other plane games - a change of context can be pretty effective it seems.

So that got me thinking about how a confrontation between Driver and Monarch would go - strictly in a gameplay capacity, mind. Probably from Driver's POV as out of the two at that point he'd probably be more of an underdog (he'd most likely not be as skilled as a full time merc) and underdogs are fun to play as, right? Continuing on this line of thinking I imagine that fighting Monarch would be similar to the first Crimson 1 encounter where you are told to get out of there but can take one pilot in the squadron down (no matter what it could be a random merc that is flying in formation with Monarch) if you want (to disobey, because you're with the federation). Why Monarch wouldn't stick around to fight you I haven't thought about, honestly. Maybe there would be a change of plans? I'm getting too distracted by how much I like Monarch-Crimson 1 parallels to think further on this. Also like the dlc.

#project wingman #frontline-59 #id like to say that the average player had trouble taking on crimson squadron in whatever starter planes you get during a first playthrough #so surely monarch would also be a tough encounter by design #err i didnt just imagine that vita line did i? i played the mission again recently but i used the botched acquisition modifier #and was subsequently too busy dodging railgun projectiles to pay attention #i also get really caught up in flying in that sky with that music its so beautiful guys #finally found the energy to write up this post. just some random thoughts here dont mind me #love when the game designers integrate their observations of games they love into the game mechanics of their own game

ok final state of his card except for redoing the art. i think this description makes more sense

i really wish i could make it work the way i want to but i just cant figure it out, i've tried everything kfjhg. might as well change the description to reflect what the card ACTUALLY does. i DID find the mod channel but i dont wanna talk in it tbh... oh well :P he's just here for fun anyways

making the art is super fun, i gotta get good at pixel art and make more card retextures just so i can sit and look at them while i play

by the way, the negative edition of this card changes all the red to gold. could not have asked for a better color scheme

me when time moves forward at a steady pace: how the fuck is it more than halfway through july already. this fuckers rapidly sprinting when im not looking huh

I'm so heavily anti-advertising that all pitches sound goofy silly to me/I can never take them seriously, so I have no idea how I'll manage to to advertise my game even if I do finally finish it soon-ish lol...

#Especially how so much modern media advertising is like... getting people excited about random tropes and stuff like #''Do you love enemies to lovers? Do you love sad stories that make you do a heckin CRY? Do you love big stupid dumbo muffin cake #sinnamon roll babies who are too good for this world? Have you ever wanted to read a blah blach blah" whatever stuff and it's like #... i cannot type that... I couldnt do it.. I couldn't even think of how to do it ghbjhbjh #I am such a literal person... Like I love when an advertisement is just like 'This product works well. Look at it. Buy it if you want. Ok'#You know what makes me want to read a book or watch a show or play a game? Reading a detailed plot synopsis or the full wiki page #for it and then deciding 'yeah I wouldnt mind sitting through seeing the events I just read about happen in more detail' lol #OR aesthetics. since I do often watch things JUST for the set/costume design. Sometimes I will watch stuff literally #just because I saw a picture of a costume in it that looked really cool and I want to sketch costume looks whilst watching #But aside from appearance like... little bullet point break downs of things that are in a story just ... do not do anything to me at all.#And i just hate 'selling' things to begin with. I don't want to have to convince people to like something.. they should just... like it...#LOL.. like.. just be born liking it. just like it automatically please. Dont make me beg to you like a weird little freak. So many commerci #als seem weirdly desperate and manipulative. Even when I finish a movie or game and really like it.. I just kind of like...move on? and don't really dwell on it much? At most #I will get into the worldbuilding of a piece of media and read the wiki for a while or watch Lore info or critical analysis videos. But I #never really care for or attach to the characters or the plot itself very much. So I feel like.. the way my brain works. I'm just not as #good at approaching things from that angle? Kind of like how if you're a lifelong vegetarian whos never eaten meat - you might #struggle to write an ad for fancy brand of steaks bc you'd be like... idk what meat eaters are even looking for? whats the selling point??#Which I'm not saying that I wouldn't play my own game. i AM definitely the audience for it. But it's more like.. I would play it for my own #very niche specific reasons that I think are different from what MOST people might want to play it for. So I need to somehow #tap into the minds of the Majority who play things for Normal Reasons than pure lore collection or whatever lol.
