Age Regressor Honest John and Kitten Regressor Gideon (Pinocchio)

When they’re regressed, Honest John acts as Gideon’s “owner”. He’s not always the gentlest kid, but Giddy is a very forgiving kitten.

John LOVES to play pretend and is constantly making up new games. It can be hard to keep up with him - one minute he’s a professional tailor, the next he’s an author.

(He can’t read even when he’s not regressed, but he holds books open and makes up stories. Gideon loves them.)

Gideon can be a very destructive kitten. He loves knocking things over or ripping things up. John often puts him in time out, but the punishment never lasts long.

Gideon is non-verbal even when he’s an adult, but when he’s regressed it’s even harder to understand him because he becomes much less expressive. John can always understand him, though. (Or at least that’s what he claims.)

John is fascinated by high society and everything fancy. His favorite games involve being a lord or duke or other type of aristocrat, and hosting extravagant parties.

Gideon often ruins these parties by “hunting” John - stalking him for a time and then pouncing on him.

The pair frequently wrestle, and sometimes they get rougher than they should. It’s not unusual for one or both to end up bruised.

They always make up eventually, though it’s almost always Gideon who apologizes first. He doodles a messy scribble and presents it to John, and John in turn raves about the raw artistic talent on display.

When they nap John always ends up cuddling Gideon. He’s not usually a big hugger, but once he’s asleep he’s the snuggliest fox around.

Little!Honest John & Kitten!Gideon Headcanons

I absolutely agree that Honest John would regress 5-9, but also be a 13ish permaregressor.

And I think Gideon would be 1-4!

Neither have caregivers; but they look out for each other

Almost exclusively go by Johnny and Giddy when regressed.

Other than that they don’t have nicknames

Given the raggedy state of their clothes and desperation for money, they don’t have a lot to spare on toys. Instead, they DIY fun stuff, like make drums from old cans, making paper airplanes, and using rocks and sticks instead of blocks.

They also play lots of pretend, hide and seek, and tag

Honest John gives me lots of big bro vibes. He is doing all the older sibling things: piggyback rides, tricking/pranking Gideon, very protective, being the one in charge, etc

John gets comfort through physical touch, namely hugs and curling up with blankets. Gideon is always happy to provide cuddles on the bad days

Honest John likes to make up stories and plays when regressed; he then acts them out during playtime

Despite being an older/middle regressor, he chews a lot—often on his nails or coat sleeve.

He loves being tickled too!

Gideon is autistic; he is nonverbal and stims when anxious (canon!)

He loves crawling and climbing while regressed; he’s very curious about his environment and is sensory seeking.

He is triggered by loud noises though

He’s calmed by dancing and spinning

Gideon is afraid of making mistakes and often needs reassurance from John if he’s doing something well

And the kitty follows after John everywhere, never leaves his side when feeling little.

He definitely leans into cat behavior when regressed. He loves playing with balls of yarn, if they’re at the circus he’ll chase the stage lights as they move, and he will jump on John.

Unrelated to agere; but my personal headcanon is that John and Gideon were once human boys taken to Pleasure Island; hence how they met, got animal/anthro forms, don’t seem to have an education, and are stuck working with the Coachman but are afraid of him and the mention of P.I. While they were living it up on the island, the two became good friends, as John stood up for Gideon when he was teased for being quiet.

Gideon knew that you age regress since the day that you met. Yes, he's looked into your head, yes, he's evil, but he had no intend of harming you, surprisingly! He rather found it.... endearing.

Warm, fuzzy and innocent, something that needed to be protected, something that needed to be taken care of. Good care. The kind of care Gideon was sure he could provide.

He didn't push it, of course, but he knew how to drop hints that he was very willing to be your caregiver.

He'd stick in an occasional 'Darling/Sweetheart' here and there, buckle your seatbelt for you, take you by the arm when crossing the road. Little things to show that he Knew, and he was Willing To.

Then, he gave you a stuffed animal, which was an official start of your caregiver and little relationship. Gideon Graves was your daddy now.

Baby C.E.O! Daddy's little helper! Gideon doesn't like leaving you alone, so he designated a special spot in his private office just for you, when you can do your own 'paperwork'.

Worksheets, he prints you a lot of preschool worksheets to keep you occupied while he answer emails and reads documents. He thinks it's important for your mind to be stimulated.

That's also why Gideon asks you a lot of questions about colors, letters, and animals, and other things to keep the cogs in your little head spinning.

He also takes you with him when he goes to supervise one of his many projects or facilities, with a condition that you won't run off and try your best to be good.

He's a strict caregiver -- the rules are there to keep you safe and happy, and Gideon's serious about them. He's the type of caregiver who sometimes gives light punishments; like a short time-out.

He is also insanely rich, so you get absolutely spoiled. He sits you on his lap, opens Amazon and just tells you "go crazy, little one, we'll get anything". You have an enormous collection of gear, toys, clothes, etc.

And Gideon's a show-off as well, so he got you a customized pacifier and onesie with his logo on it.

Due to the fact he's on work duty 24/7, he sometimes gets overtired and falls asleep while putting you to sleep. He apologises afterwards, but you don't really mind.

Gideon gets very invested into cartoons you're watching, and starts overanalyzing it, making you giggle.

You'll be watching Blue's Clues, and he'd stand behind you for 2 minutes, looking at the screen, and then he'd go "oh, that was totally a Kant reference". ....no it wasn't!

His go-to petnames is "Darling" and he also gives you a nickname based on your name

If you give him a piece of art that you've made, he'll examine it thoroughly, point out all the details, and ask a lot of questions, also praising you and saying how this drawing of a cat is "objectivly better and more tasteful than most of the drafts my visual designers send me"

Gideon is a cheeky cat. Either drowning things off the tables or scratching curtains, making messes, etc. but gets put into time out by John { inspired from @eflen-n-reegee }

John favorite food is anything apple related, except apple sauce. He ate that one time and he almost threw up. Since then he avoided it

The only way he knows how to deal with misbehaving siblings is either put them down for a nap or time out and then talk about it with them

He likes to play pretend but it’s very difficult to keep up with him. In one minute he’s a tailor and in a another he’s an actor { inspired from @eflen-n-reegee }

He likes to play " fancy party or theater " with you since he’s very fascinated with them { also from @eflen-n-reegee }

Gideon disturbed these games with him " hunting " John, like he sneaked up to him and then pounced off on him { also @eflen-n-reegee }

They have weaseling fights which sometimes ended up with you treating their wounds { inspired from @eflen-n-reegee )

Gideon‘s favorite food is obviously fish treats and surprisingly apples

Both John and Gideon trying to teach you {as their little sibby} how to walk, which ends up with you falling on your behind or tummy but nonetheless they comforting you, telling you tried or it’s a good progress

When you‘re being picked on or bullied, then John will tell them off while Gideon gives them a little lecture with his Mallet

Even after fights both of them will make up { mostly Gideon being the first }, he gives John doodle drawing and John would praise how artistic it is { @eflen-n-reegee }

They don’t have many little nicknames, John is fine with buddy or rascal and Gideon is fine with just giddy

They would call you either sweet heart, your name or {your favorite} animal related nickname

Love on how my brain will provide a half baked AU idea during work, and then hours later when I finally write it out, I realize just how fucked up it is on paper unless I edit some key part

Like, my brain came up with a time travel au, where Gideon goes back in time to about a week before the hobgoblins attacked, and he has all his current memories and knowledge. So like, obviously he tells his dad about the oncoming attack, and tells him that they should run to Agwe so Gideon can find a much younger Kremy.

But then as I was writing out the basic idea of the au, I realized it was kinda fucked because ONLY GIDEON has these memories. Kremy doesn’t. So Gideon is mentally in his 30s/40s, whereas Kremy is mentally in his 20s, even tho they’re physically about the same age. So now if I want to make the au NOT be some semblance of creepy, I either need to not let Gideon have his memories in the first place (but still somehow stir him into making the decision to run to Agwe, without knowing about Kremy or the hobgoblins), or have his memories fade and mentally regress back to a 17yo or something (which idk how to do while making it somewhat natural and not “and then this happened because reasons”)

Course I also could just not write the au, but my brain has latched on, so

I love Din Djarin for so many reasons. But I really love the fact that he isn't just an unequivocally good guy. Despite the level of care we see he has for Grogu, including breaking his Creed, and the multiple times he risks his life for various strangers.... you know there's still a dark past there. 

Din's response to the various traumas he suffered is precisely what makes him such a complex, engaging character to me. In my opinion, it's refreshing to see a realistic portrayal of how suffering terrible loss at an early age can fundamentally alter a person's outlook on life. Deep down, I think he has always been the caring person we begin to see that he is after he encounters Grogu. But the horrific way he lost his parents and was torn from his homeworld and taken in by a secretive, secluded group, who must have seemed impossibly strange to him due to the way they hid their faces. That, combined with Din having to hide his face from such an early age, I think, buried all of that goodness within him somewhere deep inside.

Characters that endure terrible things but come out as human sunshine that treat everyone with kindness and patience, I don't find as engaging because I don't think it's realistic. Any trauma, at any age, fundamentally alters you... whether you realise it at the time or not. 

I don't think Din has ever stopped to really process what happened to him. It seems he spent much of his adult life running around the galaxy from job to job for various nefarious entities to distract himself from those difficult emotions. 

But everything changes with Grogu, who I think could sense the goodness in him right away. This tiny child who was so terrified and traumatised, who had to hide his powers for so many years was so keen to physically heal Din pretty much immediately. Yet Grogu goes on to heal Din in unseen ways, too.

With Grogu, I think we see Din beginning to process his past as he cares for the child and protects him from threats in the galaxy. The only time we ever hear Din laugh is the last time they're in the Razor Crest together, right before Grogu was taken on Tython. Din didn't just lose Grogu's physical presence in his life that day on Gideon's light cruiser, he something intangible that was helping him to process his past.

After he stood there that day on the bridge with tears in his eyes, the next time we see Din, he's regressed to his old ways. A nameless, faceless bounty hunter: "I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold." 

So, I cannot even imagine how much it meant to Din that Grogu chose to come back to him. I truly hope that fact was communicated to him, or maybe Din could just sense it, given their bond. That was the final push Din needed, giving him the self esteem to continue to allow others in and get close to people again, like we see in season 3. 

With any kind of trauma, there is so much work to be done to address it and heal. It's a long, difficult and often lonely process. But Din is now going through that, thanks to Grogu. 

There is no doubt that Din Djarin has done terrible things, but there is also no doubt that he wants to be a better person. For his son... but also, hopefully, for himself. 

Now, Din deserves to rest. Now, he's no longer outrunning his past and distracting himself by hunting bounties for criminals. Now, he can find some peace as he watches his son outside the cabin they share together on Nevarro. 

It will never take the trauma away... but it will give him a brighter tomorrow.

He’s in the middle of an important meeting? He’s doing last minute work? It’s the middle of the night? He doesn’t care, you’re his priority.

LOVES spoiling you!!! He’ll buy you everything you could ever want.

He’ll usually call you ‘prince/princess’, ‘love’, ‘baby’ or ‘sweetheart’

If you’re clingier, he’ll carry you everywhere, if you’re more independent he’ll hold your hand

He cried the first time you called him a cg name.
