The Ginger Save File 🍁

Cozy limited-cc save file. Worlds were renovated and families were added for some drama.

Hello 👋 Welcome to the ginger save (aka my personal save). This save file renovation took six months, and I loved every minute of it 🫶. Many worlds’ renovations were inspired by my French-Canadian experience, so when diving in Brindleton Bay and Copperdale you might spot a few French-Canadian families that were inspired by my family in New Brunswick and my childhood in Quebec. Other world maps were renovated to follow the vibe of the premade world (I renovated builds to look like they fit within the map).

Families now have some drama within them (or with neighbours), and homes were made for more family gameplay. I tried to include relevant community lots in every world (so that your sims don’t have to leave their map that often).

This save does use both CAS and Built-Buy cc -> For now you can download my cc-folder, but later I will post a detailed list of all the cc (with links). The custom content is pretty integral for the save. I also greatly recommend overrides like sunblind, no tree fade, nature overhaul mod, etc.

*Not renovated: occult worlds, selvadorada, granite falls ( i don't have these packs), & newcrest.

Mac and Jasmine drove back to Copperdale, to visit the family home that Jasmine had grown up in. Of course now, it was the family home to her brother Quincy. After retiring, their Moms had decided to move to Tartosa to enjoy the sun and sand, but Quincy had stayed living there, growing his own family with Kylie over the decades. They now had not only Riley, but their twin sons Tommy and Billy, and were still together despite their tumultous beginnings.

The house Jasmine had once grown up in was now full of another family's photos, and yet it still felt like home despite its updated interior. When Jasmine had called to let them know they would be visiting, the siblings and cousins had all gathered. Ginger was there with her own daughter, Lola, and hearing about Mac's expedition to uncover their family history had brought with her the family photographs that she had been taking care of and curating over many years.

The family all congregated over the box of old film photographs, and reminisced together. A family photo of the teenaged triplets with their mothers was the first thing Mac pulled from the box, and they all laughed at their goofy hairstyles and clothes, reminiscent of 90s stereotypes.

'Here's one of all of you,' Mac said, passing a photo to Ginger and Quincy, who smiled together at the sight of themselves as children.

'This one is cute, Mom', they said as they handed Jasmine a photograph of herself and her triplet siblings as toddlers, colourful and messy-faced.

'It feels like a whole other lifetime ago,' smiled Jasmine. 'We lived in this house our whole lives, and went through so many different stages and phases together.’

Mac jumped up to show their cousins the photos of their parents, and the triplets held one another with love as they reminisced. All in all, they had had a wonderful childhood here. They were all so different, their lives having taken diverse paths - and yet, they had still stayed close despite it all. Their Moms had done such a good job.

What’s a main character without his harem

In my Zeus bag today so I'm just gonna put it out there that exactly none of the great Ancient Greek warrior-heroes stayed loyal and faithful and completely monogamous and yet none of them have their greatness questioned nor do we question why they had the cultural prominence that they did and still do.

Jason, the brilliant leader of the Argo, got cold feet when it came to Medea - already put off by some of her magic and then exiled from his birthland because of her political ploys, he took Creusa to bed and fully intended on marrying her despite not properly dissolving things with Medea.

Theseus was a fierce warrior and an incredibly talented king but he had a horrible temper and was almost fatally weak to women. This is the man who got imprisoned in the Underworld for trying to get a friend laid, the man who started the whole Attic War because he couldn't keep his legs closed.

And we cannot at all forget Heracles for whom a not inconsiderable amount of his joy in life was loving people then losing the people around him that he loved. Wives, children, serving boys, mentors, Heracles had a list of lovers - male and female - long enough to rival some gods and even after completing his labours and coming down to the end of his life, he did not have one wife but three.

And y'know what, just because he's a cultural darling, I'll put Achilles up here too because that man was a Theseus type where he was fantastic at the thing he was born to do (that is, fight whereas Theseus' was to rule) but that was not enough to eclipse his horrid temper and his weakness to young pretty things. This is the man that killed two of Apollo's sons because they wouldn't let him hit - Tenes because he refused to let Achilles have his sister and Troilus who refused Achilles so vehemently that he ran into Apollo's temple to avoid him and still couldn't escape.

All four of these men are still celebrated as great heroes and men. All four of these men are given the dignity of nuance, of having their flaws treated as just that, flaws which enrich their character and can be used to discuss the wider cultural point of what truly makes a hero heroic. All four of these men still have their legacies respected.

Why can that same mindset not be applied to Zeus? Zeus, who was a warrior-king raised in seclusion apart from his family. Zeus who must have learned to embrace the violence of thunder for every time he cried as a babe, the Corybantes would bang their shields to hide the sound. Zeus learned to be great because being good would not see the universe's affairs in its order.

The wonderful thing about sympathy is that we never run out of it. There's no rule stopping us from being sympathetic to multiple plights at once, there's no law that necessitate things always exist on the good-evil binary. Yes, Zeus sentenced Prometheus to sufferation in Tartarus for what (to us) seems like a cruel reason. Prometheus only wanted to help humans! But when you think about Prometheus' actions from a king's perspective, the narrative is completely different: Prometheus stole divine knowledge and gifted it to humans after Zeus explicitly told him not to. And this was after Prometheus cheated all the gods out of a huge portion of wealth by having humans keep the best part of a sacrifice's meat while the gods must delight themselves with bones, fat and skin. Yes, Zeus gave Persephone away to Hades without consulting Demeter but what king consults a woman who is not his wife about the arrangement of his daughter's marriage to another king? Yes, Zeus breaks the marriage vows he set with Hera despite his love of her but what is the Master of Fate if not its staunchest slave?

The nuance is there. Even in his most bizarre actions, the nuance and logic and reason is there. The Ancient Greeks weren't a daft people, they worshipped Zeus as their primary god for a reason and they did not associate him with half the vices modern audiences take issue with. Zeus was a father, a visitor, a protector, a fair judge of character, a guide for the lost, the arbiter of revenge for those that had been wronged, a pillar of strength for those who needed it and a shield to protect those who made their home among the biting snakes. His children were reflections of him, extensions of his will who acted both as his mercy and as his retribution, his brothers and sisters deferred to him because he was wise as well as powerful. Zeus didn't become king by accident and it is a damn shame he does not get more respect.

The wedding day arrived. Jasmine dressed and readied herself with her bridal party. The dress was beautiful, everything was perfect.

Except Jasmine couldn't shake the doubts which had crept into her head and taken up residence ever since she had seen that positive test. Though she had wished it away, it was not to be, and she had kept her secret throughout the weeks of preparations hoping nobody would notice. But as long as she kept her secret, the more she began to worry about what the future would look like for herself and her little bean. What kind of future she would be creating for them when she said I Do in the church that day.

Ginger had noticed her sister's demeanour. She had thought something was off about Jasmine ever since they had arrived. And in the final moments before they departed for the church, she approached her to ask if she was still having doubts.

Jasmine came clean to her sister. She let her secret out for the first time, and with it all of her fears and doubts.

'Jas, you don't have to go through with this,' said Ginger. 'I know it's everything you could have ever dreamed, your perfect fairytale, but I mean... this life will come with a cost. You'll have to do everything right, or at least be seen to. You won't have the kind of control you would want to have over your child's upbringing. Heck you won't have control over your own life.'

'I know,' sobbed Jasmine. 'And I don't know if that outweighs the benefits that they could have otherwise... in a life like this.'

'It's your choice,' said Ginger gently, hugging her sister. 'I'll have your back no matter what you want to do.'

Despite her wobbles, they made it to the church. The old cathedral was filled with their family and friends. Jasmine's parents and siblings were there, and as she walked down the aisle and saw their smiling faces she felt better. She could do this. And there was Andrew. He would take care of her. Take care of them both.

But as the proceedings started and Andrew took her hands in his, Jasmine realised in fact she could not. She couldn't do it. Her gut was screaming no and there was nothing else for it.

Leaving Andrew confused and flustered at the alter, Jasmine ran back down the aisle, past the gasps and shocked faces and out into the winter sunshine.

@dwightschrute11, I have the feeling that Cal would be the (moderately aggressive) disney princess of the trio. All the animals would like her—at least partially because she’d bribe them with a lot of food haha.

@ethniee, I’ve always wanted to be able to draw cats, and Reggie is very good motivation. He too cute.
