☆ Vietnamese Egg Coffee [Cà Phê Trứng] ☆
I know people are going to ask me for this since I kinda started a "coffee around the world" series. I'm sorry but I'm never making it at home ever again. I don't trust the egg even though I DIY pasteurized it. Not to mention the one actually in Vietnam tastes soooo much better.
This was awhile back actually when my family and I visited Ho Chi Minh City also known as Saigon. And we went to the Cafè Apartments.
There's an entrance on the left side of the bookstore that looks shady with how run down and full of graffitis it is. However, it's safe more or less. I suggest paying the fee for the elevator. Supposedly, it's consumable in the cafés from what I recall. By means, you show them your receipt for the elevator and you pay with that.
Anyway, there's so many cafés there but we only went to Meraki Cafè where I ordered the egg coffee. According to the receipt from the café, it costs 70,000 VND (USD 2.70).
What stood out to me then is the texture of the drink. It was dusted/topped with cocoa powder. The egg was frothy, almost like a whipped egg white texture. When mixed, it still keeps its frothy-ness. It's as if instead of steamed milk and foam its with frothed egg.
I couldn't remember the taste that much but I vaguely remember how it doesn't taste eggy. And it wasn't too sweet either.
Anyway, unfortunately, I've never seen anyone come close to replicating it so for me, it's best to check the place out yourself.
As for why I really don't want to make it again. I was disappointed because I never got it to be as frothy as Meraki's. Not to mention I get anxious drinking it because I can't stop thinking of getting salmonella. Not to mention mine still tasted eggy.
I probably messed up somewhere in the process but for what it's worth. I'll just stick to cà phê sua dá (vietnamese coffee) when at home.

YA thriller

and a lonely girl who wants to break free from her controlling mother, starts to unexpectedly find some new confidence amidst the changes
both girls dig deeper into the school’s past, and eventually cross paths - but by that time it’s possibly too late for them..
explores trauma, sexism, & sisterhood
#The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette's#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#this is good!#I always appreciate YA books set in the global south - sometimes endless american high school books start to blur together lmao#it’s quite slow paced. the pay off is good in the end but it really is RIGHT at the end#I kinda wanted them to interact more! And/or just have a bit more exploration of everything at the end#I appreciate that there’s no romance though.#no romance

NASA's Historic Achievement: Parker Solar Probe's Closest-Ever Approach to the Sun
NASA's Historic Achievement: Parker Solar Probe's Closest-Ever Approach to the Sun
Introduction: In a monumental breakthrough for space science, NASA's Parker Solar Probe has successfully completed its closest-ever approach to the Sun, bringing us closer than ever before to unlocking the mysteries of our star. This milestone marks a significant achievement in space exploration and has profound implications for our understanding of the Sun’s behavior, its impact on our solar system, and even space weather.
The Parker Solar Probe Mission: Launched in 2018, the Parker Solar Probe was designed to journey into the Sun's atmosphere, known as the corona, to collect data about the Sun’s magnetic fields, solar wind, and energetic particles. This close encounter has never been attempted by any spacecraft before due to the extreme temperatures and radiation near the Sun.
What Does This Historic Close-Approach Mean? The Parker Solar Probe came within approximately 6.2 million kilometers of the Sun’s surface. To put this into perspective, this is seven times closer than the previous record-holder, NASA's earlier spacecraft. This proximity allows scientists to observe phenomena that have been beyond reach for decades.
Why Is This Important? Understanding the Sun’s behavior is critical not only for science but also for the future of space travel and life on Earth. Solar winds and solar flares can interfere with satellite communications, GPS systems, and even power grids. By studying the Sun up close, researchers hope to predict and mitigate the effects of space weather on technology here on Earth.
Technological Innovation: This incredible feat was made possible by the development of cutting-edge technology, including the spacecraft's carbon-composite shield, which can withstand temperatures exceeding 1,370°C (2,500°F). This shield protects the instruments onboard, allowing the probe to gather critical data even in such extreme conditions.
Implications for the Future: With this success, NASA is now positioned to make groundbreaking discoveries that could reshape our understanding of the solar system and space weather. The data collected by the Parker Solar Probe will be invaluable in helping scientists better understand the Sun’s activity, including its cycle of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), which can have significant effects on Earth’s atmosphere and space systems.
Conclusion: NASA’s Parker Solar Probe is on the cutting edge of space exploration, providing us with an unprecedented opportunity to explore the Sun up close. As we continue to explore the cosmos, these discoveries offer valuable insights not just for scientific advancement but for our everyday lives as well. The future of space exploration is bright, and this achievement represents just the beginning of many exciting developments to come.

Help I’m thinking too hard about the unexplored world building implications of the seven kisses lead to pregnancy in a world where there seems to be/have been a patriarchy and also somehow it works interspecially despite humans and akiridions having entirely different modes of existence/bodily function
#that movie is still fucking me up (derogatory) almost four years later#like Aja overcomes a seemingly patriarchal issue of ‘princesses can’t be warriors’ that she at least thinks is systemic sexism until#she learns her mom was a warrior#but also her parents created a new global government so perhaps systemic patriarchy was a thing before they upended the old system (that#morando was trying to restore??)#but also what are the implications of this world that had make warriors predominantly but also the men got pregnant? I mean the women still#have breasts and the baby thing is quite fast so perhaps women stayed home with newborns?#and also that culture would probably have some sort of milestone associated with each kiss right? like Aja mostly didn’t care about Rules or#The Way Things Should Be Done so it makes sense she didn’t think too hard about milestones especially when surrounded by human dating cultur#BUT ALSO in the first episode(s?) the go out of their way to say that humans are biological and akiridions are ‘energy based’ so like how#does that factor into this whole shitshow?#did she maybe think the whole species thing meant she and Steve couldn’t ever have kids (which could be an issue with the whole ‘Royal’ thin#thus deserving exploration too)#and like also there’s the Aja and krel’s parents were somewhat less fertile or Aja and Krel have at least one dead sibling thing cause she#says 3 or 4 babies#and we don’t necessarily know if she and Krel were even from the same pregnancy since she consistently calls him little brother#and how do repeat pregnancies work? is it on multiples of seven or like is there something else to it?#don’t even get me started on vex having had a family (implied to be a wife and kids) nor how his relationship with Nancy will work in the#long run cause Jesus#I hate rott so much this isn’t even its worst writing decision#trollhunters rise of the titans#3below#3 below#aja tarron#krel tarron#tales of arcadia#toa
