Allumea Grillo Chardonnay Sicilia DOP Organic
Allumea Grillo Chardonnay is an organic wine from Sicily made from 70% Grillo and 30% Chardonnay and is produced by a company called Orion Wines.
Orion Wines is a company created to bring together interesting wines from small growers and wineries from all over Italy. The company was created by Luca Pomaro and winemaker Alessandro Michelon and Orion Wines retains complete control over the vineyards and growers they work with. The idea is to produce wines from indigenous grapes that express the typicity of the particular region where they are grown. They also produce the very popular Borgo di Trulli range of wines.
The organic vineyards for the Allumea Grillo Chardonnay organic wine are located in the province of Trapani in Sicily. The vineyard are approximately 25 years old. The grapes are manually harvested, usually in the middle of August for the Chardonnay whilst the Grillo grapes are harvested approximately 2 weeks later, around early September. The two different grape varieties are vinified separately but using the same technique. The grapes are destemmed, pressed and the must is chilled and left to rest for 48 hours. The juice undergoes temperature contolled fermentation at 17C for 10 days. After fermentation the wine is chilled to 10C to avoid malolactic fermentation and it is left on it lees for 20 days to increase complexity and aromas. The wine is aged for 2 months in bottle prior to release.
No fertilisers and no pesticides are used to make this organic white wine.

My Saturday Daily Blessings
May 29, 2021
Be still quiet your heart and mind, the LORD is here, loving you talking to you...........
Saturday of the Eight Week in Ordinary Time (Roman Rite Calendar)Lectionary 352, Cycle B
First Reading: Sirach 52:12cd-20
I thank the LORD and I praise him; I bless the name of the LORD. When I was young and innocent, I sought wisdom openly in my prayer I prayed for her before the temple, and I will seek her until the end, and she flourished as a grape soon ripe. My heart delighted in her, My feet kept to the level path because from earliest youth I was familiar with her. In the short time I paid heed, I met with great instruction. Since in this way I have profited, I will give my teacher grateful praise. I became resolutely devoted to her— the good I persistently strove for. My soul was tormented in seeking her, My hand opened her gate and I came to know her secrets. I directed my soul to her, and in cleanness I attained to her.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 19: 8, 9, 10, 11
"The precept of the Lord give joy to the heart."
Verse before the Gospel: Colossians 2:16a, 17c
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; giving thanks to God the Father through him."
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel: Mark 11: 27-33
Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem. As he was walking in the temple area, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders approached him and said to him, “By what authority are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do them?” Jesus said to them, “I shall ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me.” They discussed this among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ But shall we say, ‘Of human origin’?”– they feared the crowd, for they all thought John really was a prophet. So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.” Then Jesus said to them, “Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
**Meditation:
Do you accept the authority of God's word and submit to it with trust and obedience? Many religious leaders took offense at Jesus because they could not accept his authority as coming from God. After Jesus had dramatically cleansed the temple of the traders and money-changers, the Jewish leaders question Jesus to trap him. If he says his authority is divine they will charge him with blasphemy. If he has done this on his own authority they might well arrest him as a mad zealot before he could do more damage.
Jesus' authority to speak and act in his Father's name Jesus, seeing through their trap, poses a question to them and makes their answer a condition for his answer. Did they accept the work of John the Baptist as divine or human? If they accepted John's work as divine, they would be compelled to accept Jesus as the Messiah. John, a true prophet of God, had in fact attested to Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah who would redeem his people from their sins. The Jewish authorities dodged the question because they were unwilling to face the truth. They did not accept the Baptist and they would not accept Jesus as their Messiah. Jesus told his followers, "if you continue in my word... you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31-32).
The truth will make you free The Lord Jesus poses the same question to us today. Do you accept the claim of Jesus - that the Father in heaven sent his only begotten Son into the world to set us free from slavery to sin and to give us eternal life (John 3:16-18). Many want to mold Jesus to their own way of thinking and preferences and to reject or ignore whatever is disagreeable to them. Jesus came to give us the greatest freedom possible - freedom from ignorance, deception, and sin, and the freedom to live as sons and daughters of God in the power of the Holy Spirit. Do you know the joy and freedom of living according to God's word of truth, joy, and eternal life?
Lord Jesus, your word is life and truth. Instruct my heart that I may grow in the knowledge of your truth and live according to your word.

We have two new Sheng Puerhs made in 2020. Both Shengs are great just the way they are - even without any aging!😎 🔺️Nan Ben Lao Zhai is part of Dongsongduo village and is located at an altitude of 1700-1800 meters, average annual temperature is 17C°. The tea is made out of raw material harvested from large trees that are approximately 100 years old. The heated leaf aroma includes notes of fresh apple sauce with honey in a flower garden. The steeped leaf has a smoky, tobacco aroma with a bit of floral in the background. The taste is sweet and gentle, slightly smoky and astringent. It includes notes of blackberries, apples with a herbal aftertaste and a sweetness that keeps appearing and disappearing. Has a strong, meditative Cha Qi. A great Sheng with some aging potential. Great as is and definitely worth trying. 🔺️A Sheng from the Pa Sha Shan mountain collected from 80 to 100-year-old trees in the Manluan village during the spring of 2020. The dry leaf aroma includes notes of green apples. Once steeped the aroma acquires smokey and herbal notes. The taste is fruity and floral similar to grape juice. A good Sheng for the everyday with good aging potential. Has a strong, relaxing Cha Qi. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJEXOSSAQgz/?igshid=c81nanfajm6l

Saints Charles Lwanga and his Companions, Martyrs
(Liturgical Colour: Red: A(1))
(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Saturday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading 2 Maccabees 7:1-2, 9-14 We are ready to die rather than transgress the laws of our ancestors.
It happened that seven brothers with their mother were arrested and tortured with whips and scourges by the king, to force them to eat pork in violation of God’s law. One of the brothers, speaking for the others, said: “What do you expect to achieve by questioning us? We are ready to die rather than transgress the laws of our ancestors.” At the point of death he said: “You accursed fiend, you are depriving us of this present life, but the King of the world will raise us up to live again forever. It is for his laws that we are dying.”
After him, the third suffered their cruel sport. He put out his tongue at once when told to do so, and bravely held out his hands, as he spoke these noble words: “It was from Heaven that I received these; for the sake of God’s laws I disdain them; from him I hope to receive them again.” Even the king and his attendants marveled at the young man’s courage, because he regarded his sufferings as nothing. After he had died, they tortured and maltreated the fourth brother in the same way. When he was near death, he said, “It is my choice to die at the hands of men with the God-given hope of being restored to life by him; but for you, there will be no resurrection to life.”
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 124:2-3, 4-5, 7b-8
R/ Our soul has been rescued like a bird from the fowler’s snare.
Had not the LORD been with us – When men rose up against us, then would they have swallowed us alive When their fury was inflamed against us.
R/ Our soul has been rescued like a bird from the fowler’s snare.
Then would the waters have overwhelmed us; The torrent would have swept over us; over us then would have swept the raging waters.
R/ Our soul has been rescued like a bird from the fowler’s snare.
Broken was the snare, and we were freed. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
R/ Our soul has been rescued like a bird from the fowler’s snare.
Gospel Acclamation Matthew 5:3
Alleluia, alleluia. Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel Matthew 5:1-12a Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
