目前 AI 流行， 各領域都想與之沾邊上車， 電腦與手機領域也是不落人後， 今天要來教大家的是 Google助理自動化設定範例 要呼叫 Google助理通常要使用關鍵字: 「Hey Google」或「Ok Google」 同時要允許 Google服務取得手機精確位置 前往手機設定中的 “應用程式權限” 找到 Google 服務， 給予 Google服務能取得位置的權限 進入Google助理 HOME 設定程式， 選擇自動化動作分頁， 預設有許多日常安排的情境可以選用 這邊選擇”出門”的自動化設定， 在此設定 “出門” 要執行的自動化設定， 除了使用語音告知 Google助理， 也能夠自行新增啟動條件 點選 “新增啟動條件”， 有數個選項可以選用， 此處選擇 “當我抵達或離開某個地點時”的選項 直接將住家的位置設定好， 回到 “出門”…

2022年7月、約２ヶ月半で保護施設から引き取られた。脱肛しており長くないかもと言われていたが、無事改善しすくすく育つ。

Ｊさんに日々挑みかかる強気な幼少期を送るも実は怖がりで、たまのお客さんはおろかじいちゃんにすら挨拶したことがない内弁慶。

だっこを嫌い、呼べば逃げ、最近は何を考えているか分からない顔で床に落ちており、家主ですら意思疎通は困難。しかし朝家主が目覚めると枕シェアによる寄り添いサービスを行っており、一定の愛情はあるもよう。

米をこよなく愛し、炊きたてご飯や準備中の餅米をむしゃむしゃと食べる。また物理的に我が道を行くため多くの物を壊し、実はかなり家主に散財させている。

He hates being hugged, runs away when she calls him, and falls on the floor with the face that doesn't know what he's thinking these days, so it's still impossible for landlady to communicate with him. She can feel his affection only by his staying beside service with sharing her pillow when she wakes up.

He loves rice SO much and eats cooked rice or prepared mochi rice. And he always goes his way physically,then broke a lot of things at home so he let her spend quite an extra money...

「たくさんの方にソラクモグループのイイ写真を見てもらいたい！」という思いから、ついにYouTubeで「SORAKUMO Archive」開設しました！メンバーの方も知らない方が大多数ではないかと思います。月ごとにストックしてある膨大な数の投稿写真を少しづつですがスライドショーにまとめていきます。お楽しみに。すでに今年の1月～５月までのノミネート写真は「SORAKUMO Archive」で公開しています。検索してみてください。まだの方ももう見た方もチャンネル登録して、いつでも何度でもゆっくりとソラクモを見ることができるようになりました。 さて今回セレクトしたカワカミ ヒロシさんの１枚ですが、なんとも言えない幻想的な風景です。雲海かと思っていましたが、河川敷の朝霧が創り出した風景とのこと。早朝の柔らかい光と朝霧を包む大地の色が心地よいコントラストを醸し出しています。コメントにも書かれていますが、自然の織り成す風景はホントに芸術ですね。

My son is a chemical engineer at LCY GROUP in Taiwan. He called me two days ago and said: Mom, he got a promotion and a salary increase, so he took me to eat, go shopping, and buy ice cream to go home and enjoy. lol (He is a very pragmatic big boy who never dreams. Maybe because he is a child of a single parent, because they have experienced many human relationships with me, inculded up and down in life since they were young, so they mature very early. Fruits were pulled from the tree before they were ripe. hahaha) In fact, his company is not as profitable as in previous years in general this year, but he is lucky. He is the only one in his department at the Kaohsiung factory who has been promoted and received a salary increase.

We chatted and laughed about all kinds of topics. I am really lucky. God has given me two children who are smart, independent, sensible and gentle. Of course he also gives me dividends lol I like and appreciate that every time he takes the initiative to give me money, I always see the light of accomplishment and love in his eyes ~ shining like stars in the sky! 🙏 Thank God!

Although "it is more blessed to give than to receive". But there is another deeper understanding, especially for some people with strong self-esteem. Sometimes you have to learn to meekly "accept" gifts from those who love you in life.

我的兒子是台灣榮化集團(LCY GROUP)的化材工程師��前兩天打電話跟我說:媽媽，他升職加薪了，所以他帶我去吃飯、逛街和買冰淇淋回家享受。lol (他是個相當務實，從來不會作夢的大男孩。可能因為是單親的小孩，因他們從小就跟著我經歷許多人情冷暖，所以很早熟。果子還沒熟就從樹上拔下來了。hahaha) 其實今年他的公司總體來說並不如往年利多，但他很幸運，高雄廠在他的部門只有他一個人被升職和加薪。

我們聊天又笑呵呵的各種話題無所不談，我真的很幸運，天主賜給我兩個既聰明獨立又懂事溫順的孩子。當然他也分紅給我 lol 我喜歡也感謝當他每次主動地給我錢時，我總會看到他眼中充滿著成就感和愛的光芒~像天上星子閃爍著! 🙏 感謝天主!

Arashi: How is it gross!? It's pretty crucial for everybody to get along, isn't it? 

Arashi: っていうか凛月ちゃん、第一声がそれ? 相変わらずの皮肉屋さんねェ?

Arashi: I mean, Ritsu-chan, wasn't that the first thing you said? You're as sarcastic as ever, aren't you?

Ritsu: 俺が喋らなくても、ナッちゃんが余計な��とまで喋ってくれるからねぇ。楽ちん楽ちん。。。。。。♪

Ritsu: Nacchan will chat about needless things even when I don’t speak at all. Too simple, too simple……. ♪

Arashi: あんた、喋ってるときは相手の目ぐらい見なさいよ。。。。。。。さっきから、夢中になって何を読んでるの?

Ritsu: 向こうのスタジオにあったものを雑にまとめて箱に放りこんだから、見覚えのないものがけっこう出てきて面白いよ

Ritsu: It’s quite interesting to see so many strange things considering how I sloppily gathered up everything I had over there in the studio and threw them into boxes in one go.

Tsukasa: はい。そうでした、今日は皆さんには引っ越しのために集まっていただいたのですよね

Tsukasa: Yes. That’s right. All of us gathered today in order to move, right? 

Tsukasa: 夢ノ咲からESへ、拠点を多すために

Tsukasa: ええ。この『Knights』の第二の砦は、あくまでも簡易的な基地となります

Song of Yoru and Asa Toranoana leaflet!!

I scoured the second-hand BL goods shops of Tokyo and was able to get my hands on the leaflet from its release that came with copies sold at Toranoana, which contains AsaYoru content I have never seen before, so I scanned it to share with you all.

The summary is that Futsu found a site with reader-insert fanfiction (夢小説) of the band, where readers can type in their own name to set the name of the protagonist of the story. Later, Asaichi finds Yoru reading Asaichi x reader fan fiction.

《ステートメント》

今回は、レベッカ・ブラウン著『天国ではなく、どこかよそで』をイメージして制作した作品を展示します。

この短編集からは、人が永遠にくりかえす営みのすべてを包み込むような、不思議な荘厳さを感じました。

何度も間違い、傷つき、憎み、悲しみ、喜び、愛し、生きて、死んで……そのすべてを許す何かの存在を想いながら書かれたように感じたのです。

そんな祈りのような文章に絵を添えるとしたら、と想像しながら作った作品たちです。

金井冬樹（カナイ・フユキ）

1988年長野県生まれ。イラストレーター・コミック作家として雑誌や書籍に作品を提供する傍ら、自身の経験を基にしたテキスト作品やコミックなどをまとめたzineの創作を行う。主な仕事にケイト・ザンブレノ著、西山敦子訳『ヒロインズ』の装画、レベッカ・ブラウン著、柴田元幸訳『ゼペット』の挿絵など。自身の作品集としては、2015～17年に発表したzineをまとめた『LONG WAY HOME』、2022年に渋谷PARCOで開催した個展の様子を記録した『ゆっくりと届く祈り』など。

『体の贈り物』『私たちがやったこと』『若かった日々』などで知られるアメリカの作家、レベッカ・ブラウンの最新物語集『天国ではなく、どこかよそで』。

長年レベッカの作品を訳し紹介してきた翻訳家・柴田元幸さんの訳、装画は金井冬樹さんによって、2024年10月にtwililightから刊行しました。

好評につき、2025年3月26日に重版することを記念して、金井さんと柴田さんのトークイベントを開催します。

今回の金井さんの個展『おわりからはじめまで』は、『天国ではなく、どこかよそで』に収録された17の短篇をイメージして制作されました。

訳した人と絵を描いた人、それぞれの立場から『天国ではなく、どこかよそで』の収録作品について語り合っていただきます。

ミニマルな空間と美しい曲線が生む 優しく包容力のある住まい The minimalist space and beautiful curves create a tender and inclusive home

夙川の家は兵庫県西宮市に位置し、四方を2階建ての隣家に囲まれたコンパクトな旗竿地にある。 プライバシーの観点から外に開くことが難しい敷地条件に対し、内部を周囲から切り離して住み手のための”独立した世界”をつくることを目指した。 ”中庭”と”大きな気積をもったドーム空間”により、閉じた箱の中でも窮屈さを感じることなく、美しい緑や光を愛でながら居心地良く過ごすことができる。包み込むような空間が家族の団欒を生み、暮らしを受け止める包容力のある住まいとなっています。

“House in Shukugawa” is located in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, on a compact flagpole-shaped lot surrounded on all sides by two-story neighboring houses. The site conditions made it difficult to open the house to the outside for privacy reasons, so we aimed to create an independent world for the client on the inside. The “courtyard” and “domed space with a large volume” allow the residents to spend a cozy time while enjoying beautiful greenery and light, without feeling cramped in a closed box. The enveloping space creates a family gathering, and the house has the tolerance to accept the people’s life.

- ⚪︎ロケーション 　夙川の家は、兵庫県西宮市の豊かな自然と古くからの邸宅街が広がる夙川沿岸の閑静なエリアに位置している。この場所のように地価が比較的高いエリアでは、邸宅街と対照に土地が細分化され住宅が密集している部分も多くみられる。本邸も、四方を2階建ての隣家に囲まれたコンパクトな旗竿敷地での計画だった。 ⚪︎ご要望 　クライアントから伺った理想の住環境や要望は、次の5つに整理できる。

自然とのつながり（緑、光、風、四季を感じれること）

プライバシーを確保しつつhyggeを大切にできること（hygge：デンマーク語で「居心地がいい空間」や「楽しい時間」をさす言葉）

陰翳礼讃の精神で光や陰翳を繊細に感じられること、照明計画も同様に均一な明かりではなく変化や緩急があること

全体に繋がりがあり、用途に合わせて空間ボリュームが多様に調整されていること

インテリアから建築まで飽きのこない普遍性のあるデザインであること

これらのテーマと敷地条件をもとに、建築形態を検討していった。 ⚪︎デザインコンセプト 　プライバシーの観点から外に開くことが難しい敷地条件に対する解決策として、あえて周囲を隔絶し「中庭」と「ドーム空間」によって建物内部にクライアントのための“独立した世界”を構築する住まいを提案した。また共有していただいた好みのインテリアイメージには、ヨーロッパの空気感を感じるものが多く意匠にもそれらの要素を取り入れることにした。

　まずコンパクトな敷地の中で可能な限り大きく建物のフットプリントを設定し、周囲に対して閉じた箱型の木造２階建てとした。次に内部でも自然や四季を感じ取れるよう、安定した採光が確保しやすい北側の角に中庭を配置。その周りを囲むようにホールやダイニングスペース、キッチンなどのアクティブなスペースを設けた。寝室や浴室といった個人の休息スペースは、必要最小限の大きさにして2階に配置した。(1ルームの寝室は、可動式収納家具によって部屋割りを調整可能) 　この住まいの最大の特徴はドーム型のホールであり、それは人々の暮らしを受け止める包容力のある空間となっている。適度な求心的プランが家族の団らんを生み、中庭の抜けとドームの大きなヴォイドが人が集まった際も居心地の良さを保証する。閉じた箱でありながら窮屈さを感じることなく、親密なスケールで家族や友人達と心地良く過ごすことができる。 　またタイル張りの床、路地テラスのようなダイニングスペース、バルコニーのような踊り場、ドームとシンボリックなトップライトなどにより、1階は住宅でありながらセミパブリックな空気感を醸し出している。これがプライベートな空間である2階とのコントラストを生み、小さな家の中に多様さと奥行きをつくり出している。 　採光については、単に明るいことだけではなく相対的に明るさを感じられることも重要である。ホールの開口部は最小限として基準となる照度を下げつつ、中庭に落ちる光が最も美しく感じられるよう明るさの序列を整理した。また壁天井全体を淡い赤褐色の漆喰仕上げとすることで、明るさを増幅させるとともに影になった部分からも暖かみを感じられるよう設計している。 　空間操作としては、中庭外壁隅部のR加工、シームレスな左官仕上げとしたドーム天井、ドームと対照的に低く抑えた1階天井高などが距離感の錯覚を起こし、コンパクトな空間に視覚的な広がりをもたらしている。 ⚪︎構造計画 　木造軸組構法の構造材には、強度が高いことで知られる高知県産の土佐材を使用。上部躯体には土佐杉、土台にはより強度や耐久性の高い土佐桧を用いた。工務店が高知県から直接仕入れるこだわりの材であり、安定した品質の確保とコスト削減につながっている。 ⚪︎造園計画 　この住まいにおける重要な要素である中庭は、光や風を映し出す雑木による設え。苔やシダなどの下草から景石や中高木まで、複数のレイヤーを重ね、コンパクトでありながらも奥行きのある風景をつくり出している。またコンパクトな分植物と人との距離が近く、天候や四季の移ろいを生活の中で身近に感じ取ることができる。石畳となっているため、気候の良い時期は気軽に外へ出て軽食を取るなど、テラスのような使い方も可能。草木を愛でる豊かさを生活に取り入れてもらえることを目指した。 　敷地のアプローチ部分には錆御影石を乱張りし、大胆にも室内の玄関土間まで引き込んで連続させている。隣地に挟まれた狭い通路であるため、訪れる人に奥への期待感を抱かせるような手の込んだ仕上げとした。また石敷きを採用することにより来訪者の意識が足元に向かい、ホール吹抜けの開放感を演出する一助となっている。 ⚪︎照明計画 　ベース照明は、明るすぎず器具自体の存在感を極力感じさせない配置を心掛けた。特に中庭の植栽を引き立てる照明は、月明かりのように高い位置から照射することで、ガラスへの映り込みを防止しつつ、植物の自然な美しさを表現できるよう配慮している。ホールについても、空間の抽象度を損なわないために、エアコンのニッチ内にアッパーライトを仕込み、天井面に器具が露出することを避けた。 　対して、人を迎え入れたり留まらせる場（玄関、ダイニング、リビング、トイレ）には、質感のある存在感をもった照明を配置し、インテリアに寄与するとともに空間のアクセントとしている。 ⚪︎室内環境 　居心地のよい空間をつくるためには快適な温熱環境も不可欠である。建物全体がコンパクト且つ緩やかに繋がっているため、冬季は1階ホールとキッチンに設置した床暖房によって、効率よく建物全体を温めることができる。壁天井には全体を通して漆喰（マーブルフィール）による左官仕上げを採用し、建物自体の調湿性能を高めている。 　換気設備は「第1種換気※1」を採用。温度交換効率92％の全熱交換型換気ファン（オンダレス）により、給排気の際に室内の温度と湿度を損なうことなく換気を行うことができるため、快適で冷暖房負荷の削減に繋がる。CO2濃度や湿度をセンサーにより検知し、自動で換気量を増やす仕組みも取り入れている。 　また断熱材は、一般的なボードタイプよりも気密性が高く、透湿性に優れた木造用の吹き付けタイプを使用。サッシはLow-E複層ガラス+アルゴンガス充填で断熱性を高めた。 ※1「第1種換気」..給気、排気ともに機械換気装置によって行う換気方法 ⚪︎まとめ 　近隣住宅が密集する環境の中で、周囲を隔てて内部空間を切り離すことで、住み手のための世界を築くことができた。仕事で毎日を忙しく過ごすクライアントだが、ここでの時間は、仕事を忘れ、好きなものに囲まれ、家族や友人たちと心から安らげる時を過ごしてほしい。心身共に癒やされるような家での日常が、日々の活力となるように。この住まいがそんな生活を支える器になることを願っている。 ⚪︎建物概要 家族構成 ｜夫婦 延床面積 ｜70.10㎡  建築面積 ｜42.56㎡  1階床面積｜39.59㎡ 2階床面積｜30.51㎡ 敷地面積 ｜89.35㎡ 所在地 　｜兵庫県西宮市 用途地域 ｜22条区域 構造規模 ｜木造2階建て 外部仕上 ｜外壁：小波ガルバリウム鋼板貼り、ジョリパッド吹付 内部仕上 ｜床：タイル貼、複合フローリング貼 　　         壁：マーブルフィール塗装仕上 　　          天井：マーブルフィール塗装仕上 設計期間｜2022年11月～2023年7月 工事期間｜2023年8月～2024年3月 基本設計・実施設計・現場監理｜ arbol  堤 庸策 + アシタカ建築設計室  加藤 鷹 施工　　｜株式会社稔工務店 造園　　｜荻野景観設計株式会社 照明　　｜大光電機株式会社  花井 架津彦 空調　　｜ジェイベック株式会社  高田 英克 家具制作｜ダイニングテーブル���ソファ：wood work olior. 　　　　　ダイニングチェア：tenon インテリアスタイリング｜raum 撮影　 ｜下村写真事務所 下村 康典 、加藤 鷹 資金計画・土地探し・住宅ローン選び｜株式会社ハウス・ブリッジ テキスト｜加藤 鷹

House in Shukugawa ⚪︎Positioning the land as the background 　Located in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, the surroundings along the Shukugawa River are quiet, with abundant nature and a long-established residential area. Due to the high value of land and the relatively high unit price per tsubo, there are many areas where land is densely subdivided into smaller lots. 　The site was a compact, flagpole-shaped lot surrounded on all sides by two-story neighboring houses. These conditions were by no means good. However, the client purchased the lot because of its good surrounding environment and the fact that it was in an area that he had grown familiar with since childhood. ⚪︎Requests 　The ideal living conditions and requests we recieved from the client can be organized into the following five categories.

 To be able to feel nature (greenery, light, wind) even inside the house

 To be able to value "hygge" (Danish word meaning "comfortable space" or "enjoyable time") while ensuring privacy

 To be able to feel light and shade sensitively in the spirit of " In Praise of Shadows(Yin-Ei Raisan)" and the same goes for the lighting design

 The entire space is connected and the spatial volume is adjusted in a variety of uses

 Timeless design that can be cherished for a long time

Based on these themes and the site conditions, the architectural form was studied. ⚪︎Design concept 　The site conditions made it difficult to open the house to the outside for privacy reasons, so we aimed to create an independent world within the house in line with the client's preferences. Many of the interior images they shared with us had a European feel, and we decided to incorporate these elements into the design.

　First, the footprint of the building was set as large as possible in relation to the site, and it was designed to be boxy and closed to the outside. To allow the interior to experience nature and the four seasons, a courtyard was placed in the north corner, where it is relatively easy to secure lighting. The hall (living and dining room), kitchen, and other active spaces are located around the courtyard. Rooms for individual rest, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, were kept to the minimum necessary size and placed on the second floor. (The storage furniture in the bedroom is movable in order to accommodate changes in usage.) 　The most distinctive feature of this project is the domed hall. It is a tolerant space that accepts people's lives. The moderate centripetal plan creates family gatherings, the courtyard and the large volume of the dome guarantee a cozy feeling even when people gather. Here, one can spend comfortable, quality time with family and close friends without feeling cramped. 　In addition, the tiled floor, the alley terrace-like dining space, the balcony-like stairs, and the dome and symbolic top light give the first floor a semi-public atmosphere even though it is a house. This contrasts with the private second floor, creating variety and depth within the small house. 　In terms of lighting, it is important not only to be bright, but also to have a sense of relative brightness. While minimizing the openings in the hall to lower the overall illumination level, we organized the sequence of brightness so that the light falling on the courtyard would be perceived as beautiful as possible. The walls and ceiling are finished in a uniform light reddish-brown plaster, which allows the warmth of the light to be felt while amplifying  the brightness of the space. 　In terms of spatial manipulation, the soft curvature of the outer courtyard wall corners, the seamless plastered dome ceiling, and the low ceiling height of the first floor in contrast to the dome create the illusion of distance and visual expansion in a compact space. ⚪︎Interior Environment 　A comfortable thermal environment is also essential for creating a cozy space. As the entire building is compact and gently connected, the volume can be efficiently heated in winter by floor heating installed in the ground-floor hall and kitchen. The walls and ceilings are plastered (with a Marble Feel) throughout to enhance the building's own humidity control. 　The ventilation system is "Class 1 Ventilation*1. The ventilation system uses a total heat exchange type ventilation fan (ondaless) with a temperature exchange efficiency of 92%, which allows ventilation without compromising indoor temperature and humidity during air supply and exhaust, resulting in comfort and reduced heating and cooling loads. 　The insulation is of the sprayed wooden type, which is more airtight and has better moisture permeability than ordinary board-type insulation. Low-E double-glazing glass with an argon gas filling are used to enhance thermal insulation.

*1 "Type 1 Ventilation". A ventilation method in which both air supply and exhaust are done by a mechanical ventilator. ⚪︎Structural Planning 　Tosa wood from Kochi Prefecture known for its high strength, were used for the structural members of the wooden frame. Tosa cedar was used for the upper frame, and Tosa cypress was used for the foundation because of its higher strength and durability. The construction company purchased these materials directly from Kochi Prefecture, ensuring stable quality and reducing costs. ⚪︎Landscaping plan 　The courtyard, an important element of the house, is designed with a mix of trees that reflect the light and wind. Multiple layers, from undergrowth such as moss and ferns to landscape stones and medium height trees, create a compact yet deep landscape. The compactness of the space also means that the plants are close to people, allowing the users to feel the weather and the changing seasons in their daily lives. The cobblestone pavement enables the use of a terrace-like space, where one can casually step outside for a light meal when the weather is nice. We aimed to bring the richness of loving plants and trees into people's lives. 　The approach to the site is made up of tan-brown granite, which is boldly pulled into the entrance floor of the house to create a continuous line. Since it is a narrow passageway between neighboring properties, we created an elaborate finish to give visitors a sense of anticipation of what lies ahead. The use of stone paving also directs visitors' attention to their feet, helping to create a sense of openness in the hall atrium. ⚪︎Lighting Plan 　The base lighting is not too bright, and the presence of the fixtures themselves is minimized as much as possible. In particular, the lighting that enhances the plants in the courtyard illuminates from a high position, like moonlight, to prevent reflections on the glass and to express the natural beauty of the plants. In the hall, lights were installed in the air conditioner niche avoiding the exposure of fixtures on the ceiling surface, so as not to spoil the abstractness of the space. 　On the other hand, at the place where people are welcomed in or stay (entrance, dining room, living room, and restroom), lighting with a textured presence is placed to contribute to the interior design and accentuate the space. ⚪︎Summary 　In an environment where neighboring houses are densely packed, we were able to build a world for the residents by separating the interior spaces from their surroundings. The client spends his busy days at work, but during his time here, he wants to forget his work, surround himself with his favorite things, and spend truly restful moments with his family and friends. We hope that daily life in a house that heals both body and soul will be a source of daily vitality. Where is the Wrecked Ship in Metroid: Zero Mission?

Super Metroid and the original Metroid for the NES share their setting: the fortress planet of Zebes. While the first Metroid game only allowed players to explore its underground areas, Super Metroid introduced a couple of areas set on the surface of Zebes: Crateria and the Wrecked Ship. When the original Metroid was remade for the Game Boy Advance as Metroid: Zero Mission, areas from Super Metroid were added to the map.

For example, in the original Metroid, Samus leaves Zebes via a long vertical shaft that leads to the surface after defeating Mother Brain. In Super Metroid, Samus enters the underground of Zebes via this same shaft via a cave in Crateria. In Zero Mission, this cave on the surface was added to the escape sequence following the defeat of Mother Brain, as can be seen in the images below.

The Wrecked Ship appears to be missing at first glance however, so what is up with that?

The Wrecked Ship's location

In Super Metroid, the Wrecked Ship is located in the east of Crateria, as can be seen in the map included with Super Metroid's manual.

A conclusion some may jump to is that the Wrecked Ship is the remains of the Space Pirate Mother Ship. This purple vessel lands in the east of Crateria during the events of Zero Mission and Samus explores it after defeating Mother Brain. It explodes after she is done. However, this does not appear to be the case as the Mother Ship as a whole appears to be too far east and it was explicitly denied by Metroid producer Yoshio Sakamoto on the Japanese Zero Mission website:

Question: "スペースパイレーツの母船に、攻撃をしてこない二足歩行の作業ロボットがいましたが、もしかしてあれはスーパーメトロイドに登場した作業ロボットと同一タイプですか？そうなるとラストで爆発したスペースパイレーツ・マザーシップはスーパーメトロイドで登場した難破船、ファントゥーンのステージになるのでしょうか？ぜひ教えてください。"

Question: "On the Space Pirate Mother Ship, there was a bipedal working robot that couldn't attack. Maybe it's the same type of working robot that appeared in Super Metroid? If that is the case, will the Space Pirate Mother Ship that exploded at the end become the Wrecked Ship that appears in Super Metroid, Phantoon's stage? Please tell me."

Sakamoto: "あの作業ロボットは、この時代の宇宙船には欠かすことのできないスタンダードタイプですので、「スーパーメトロイド」に登場したものと同タイプだと思われます。しかし、マザーシップとスーパーメトロイドの難破船は別物という設定です。"

Sakamoto: "That type of working robot is a standard and integral part of spaceships of this era, so I consider it to be the same type as the ones that appeared in Super Metroid. However, the Mother Ship and Super Metroid's Wrecked Ship are two entirely different settings."

So, where is the Wrecked Ship in Zero Mission? An area resembling it does in-fact appear in the game, although it is small. It is located between Crateria and the Space Pirate Mother Ship.

Superficially, this area also has similar aesthetics to the Wrecked Ship from Super Metroid, though they still look distinct due to the two games' different artstyles.

To further drive the connection home, room you enter this area in Zero Mission from is also highly similar to the entrance area of the Wrecked Ship in Super Metroid in its layout.

Clear effort was made in Zero Mission to parallel areas from Super Metroid, though they also have differences. Part of this is due to artstyle as mentioned before, but also due to potential in-universe changes. The area outside the Wrecked Ship is in the open air in Super Metroid while in Zero Mission it is in a cave. There are also far fewer Chozo Ruins on the surface in Super Metroid. If one looks at the map of Zero Mission, it also becomes apparent that the Wrecked Ship area is located under the Chozodia Ruins.

At the end of Zero Mission, the Space Pirate Mother Ship explodes and as can be seen on the above map, it is situated right next to the Chozodia Ruins. It is possible that the explosion blew up the ruins, exposing the Wrecked Ship buried underneath, and also the caves in Crateria.

Phantoon and the lore of the ship

There is one weird aspect though given that these areas are the same, as in Zero Mission, the ship seems functional and is buzzing with the energy-based Atomic enemies. Meanwhile, in Super Metroid, the ship's electricity is not functioning and all Atomics inside are sealed until the defeat of the boss Phantoon. What happened to the ship?

The answer lies within Phantoon, who is a ghost like being who was generated from the evil thoughts of Mother Brain according to the Japanese manual of Super Metroid:

"ファントゥーン （難破船のボス） マザーブレインの意識が実体になったもの。その邪悪な念波によって周囲の霊は悪霊化し、船の機能は停止してしまった。"

"Phantoon (Boss of the Wrecked Ship) Mother Brain’s consciousness has resulted in an entity. Its evil telepathy has demonized the surrounding spirits and stopped the ship’s functions." -Japanese Super Metroid manual

This entity may have spawned due to Mother Brain's defeat in Zero Mission. It is after all nowhere to be found in that game and also wasn't one of the high-ranking Space Pirates in charge of guarding Tourian, their command center, in Zero Mission while he is in Super Metroid. The manual, when discussing the enemies found in the Wrecked Ship, also confirms it was Phantoon who drained the ship of its energy: "The Wrecked Ship has been shut down by the floating ghost, Phantoon." -Super Metroid manual The Covern found in the Wrecked Ship in Super Metroid meanwhile are the spirits it has whipped into a frenzy, explaining their absence in Zero Mission: "These souls of shipwrecked creatures turn into evil spirits that wrap themselves around intruders." -Super Metroid manual As an aside, the Covern are the souls of the ones who crashed into Zebes in the first place, the Chozo who first settled on the planet according to the Super Metroid manual. This would thus also mark the first physical appearance of the Chozo in the series, long before the first living on-screen Chozo seen in Metroid Dread or even the Chozo Ghosts in the first Metroid Prime.

[好日の素…支援すること] 　 令和6年能登半島地震の発生から1か月。 未だ被災地では きびしい状況が続いているものの、 ささやかでも よかったと思えるような情報も 聴こえてきて、 現地で力を合わせて 日常を取り戻すために動いていらっしゃる方々や そのサポートを懸命にされている方々には 本当に頭が下がります。ありがとうございます。 　 そして、一般の わたしたちにできることって 何かないだろうか、と考える人も 多いだろうと思うのです。 　 比較的すぐにできることと言えば やはり募金でしょうか。 街頭募金もありますし、 個人でお店をされている方が 店頭に募金箱を設置してくださっていたりもします。 じぶんが支援したい団体を選んで 送金する、というスタイルも多く見かけます。 例えばお酒が好きな方なら 被災した酒蔵の方々を支援する窓口、とか… 医療や食品業界など 義援金や支援金の窓口は さまざまなものが開設されています。 　 また、商品やサービスを購入し、 代金の何％か、もしくは全額を 募金にあてる、というものや、 催し物の全体の売り上げから何％かを 支援金とするものなど、 購入して応援する方法も増えています。 このような状況なので リターンはないかもしれないけれど クラウドファンディングという方法もありますね。 　 このほか、SNSを拝見していて なるほど、と思ったのは 「わたしたちが健康でいること」。 病気やケガを予防して健康でいることで その分の医療を被災地で役立ててもらう、あるいは 医療従事者が災害派遣に行っていて、 通常の医療現場が手薄になってしまうところに 負担をかけないようにする、という 考え方です。 　 さらには、北陸のいいところを 知ってもらう取り組みも。 ぜひ訪ねてみたい、と 思ってもらえるような 風景やエピソードを共有することも、 気軽にできる応援のひとつかと思います。 　 このようなことは もちろん もう起こってほしくないですが、 この機会にあらためて どんなに北陸を好きで 大切に思っているかを 感じることになった、という方も きっといらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。 　 被害が甚大な分、復興には 大変な労力も時間もかかります。 息の長い支援が必要です。 そして、時が経つにつれて 忘れられてしまうことのないよう 継続してこころを寄せながら ひとつひとつ復旧、復興してゆく姿を 一緒に待つことが 大切だと強く思います。 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 　 [日々是食べたい！… 米飴 ]

　 前半を受けて…というわけでも ないですが、せっかくなので しばらくは わたしの思う、北陸のおいしいものを ピックアップしていこうかと。 　 水・米・麦から作られる 米飴、また麦芽飴は 1000年以上もの昔から 全国各地にあるそうですが、 ここ北陸でも 金沢では「じろあめ」、能登では「松波飴」など 永く愛されています。 今は亡き祖母も、子どものころに 食べるのがたのしみだった、と話していました。 　 代表的なのは 水あめ状のもの。 他にも固い板状の飴をくだいたものや 飴を薄くのばしてきな粉をかけた「飴せんべい」など 形もさまざま。 　 水あめ状のものは 瓶に入っているものだけでなく 1回分の分量ごとにパウチになっている商品もあり、 使いやすくていいですね。 噂を聞いてこの頃 気になっているのは バターとあわせた「じろバター」。 数量限定でなかなか手に入らないのだとか！ （わたしも食べてみたい…！） 　 固いタイプは 豆や落花生が入ったものや 梅のフレーバーがついたものなど バリエーションもあり、 選ぶのもたのしい。 　 飴ですから そのまま食べるのはもちろん、 お料理やお菓子づくりに使っても。 以前いただいた飴屋さんのパンフレットには 蒸しケーキやアイスクリームなどの 作り方が掲載されていました。 　 お正月で お餅を召し上がることもあったかと思いますが、 やわらかくしたお餅に 米飴ときな粉をかけて食べる飴餅も、 やさしい甘みときな粉の香ばしさが たまらないおいしさです。 　 どこかほっとする、米飴の 素朴な味わいに 北陸を思い出していただけたらうれしいです。

Today I did something that I’ve been dying to do for a LONG time: go to a Taiwanese temple! The most exciting thing is that I got to make some offerings, make a prayer, and ask a question to one of the deities there! (Well, technically I’m gonna say I offered the prayer to the Heavens in general because I’m pretty sure it goes against my religion to pray to another deity OOPS– don’t tell my pastor plz). My offering was simple, just a pack of some cakes I bought from the temple and the snacks I brought with me in my bag today (some chocolate gummy candy and some chocolate chip os hehe), and I prayed at the spot designated for the deity of romance! Thankfully, I didn’t feel too pathetic though because at least there were a bunch of other desperate singles in the little area too, all praying with their hands pressed together alongside me. After the prayer, I asked a question (which I will NOT tell y’all because a girl has to have her secrets) and I threw the divination moonstones to get a celestial response– it said yes!! So hopefully, things are looking up for me in the romance department! God, and all my friends, know I could use some luck there lol. The cool thing is that I got to take my offerings with me, which is something I did not expect in the slightest! I guess it makes sense though, because it would likely just go to waste otherwise if they weren’t taken back by the offeror.

Off topic, but I realized this morning that some of the things I bought yesterday at the night market were fakes (one little Kuromi journal I bought literally said, “Where do you want to go todag?” LOL)! I don’t mind though, I think it’s funny and I’m sure my bestie won’t care and will love it even more now hehe. I’ve also noticed that there is an absolutely INSANE amount of corporate collabs going on in the capitalistic sphere over here! Yay!!!! I came across a Sanrio themed Seven Eleven today while I was walking around and just its existence blew my mind, and then before I took the MRT home, I grabbed myself some cupcakes from the Pokemon + Mister Donut collab going on right now! The States of course have their own collabs but it’s much, much rarer than it appears to be over here. There’s even a Hello Kitty + Watsons collab for Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary! I got the required points to do so, and then I bought one of the mystery bags! ( 一開始我以爲可以自己選擇想要買的手提包，可是原來是隨機的！無法選擇險要的，是由天命決定。不幸的是送給我的手提包不是我想要的。雖然還是看起來好可愛，但是我可能還要再買一個來嘗試得到想要的設計。）I got the Hello Kitty design, but I really wanted the Cinnamoroll one, so oh well.

The weather here is intense, but I’ve noticed that I don’t actually mind it! The hot weather just feels normal to me because of Florida’s unforgiving heat, and I’m actually happy that it rains here more than Florida! So far, it’s definitely rained here every day since I’ve arrived, and even as I’m typing this, it’s thundering. I had lunch alone today, and it was tons of fun! I went walking around, looking at all the tasty stores and cool little shops and I decided on a Bao place run by a sweet old lady!

Academic Reflection

To be honest, I’m not actually sure how many/which readings we were supposed to do today LOL, but I started reading the one titled “Hot and Noisy” and it’s had some relevance to the activities I’ve done the past few days so I think it’s a good place to start. What really stuck out to me from that writing was how contested the position of the 夜市 is, and how much that both surprised me and made immediate sense. Because I come from a culture where night markets are practically unheard of, I just assumed they were a normal, unthreatened aspect of the culture in Taiwan because I knew nothing about them. The reading showed me how jeopardized their position in Taiwanese society is, and how because they are becoming increasingly regulated, they are at risk. From first hand experience, the lack of government regulation is apparent because as I type this, I’m sitting next to the counterfeit Sanrio journals I bought and using some 來自夜市山寨產品的筆 to annotate the readings lol.

One of the lines from the song mentioned in the article also stuck out to me, the “buy as much as you can so Taiwan will have a miracle.” Although I know it is specifically talking about the night markets, it certainly pertains to the shopping environment in Taiwan as a whole too. The little receipts, which all give you a chance to win a lotto, prove that. It’s clever and makes sense, because it encourages the gambler in you to buy more, which stimulates the economy. It’s certainly worked on me, because even as I spend a little more than I’m supposed to on cute cupcakes, the little number on the receipt I got made the purchase feel just a touch better.
