(1/2) Edgeworth meets Wright for the first time (Narumitsu Story Contest AU)
Part 2!
Intro (???) post
I was lazy to draw so the most detailed painting in the comic is actually "Summer" by Jacopo Tintoretto. Here is the unedited painting:

[Transcript]
The descriptions how the characters look are in the Intro post.
The comic is mostly monochrome in black and white, with slight color variation due to a filter.
Page 1:
Edgeworth stands in the middle of a path, surrounded by stalls and vendors, with a few people around. He's sweating, nervous, thinking: "It is so over. I am finished." He is lacking his red sweater.
He is sweating even more. "The previous person gave me such a look, I felt as if I insulted their family honor to death," he thinks, embarrassed.
"No matter who I asked, they all refused. Quite rudely as well!" he thinks as he rubs his hand, which is also sweaty, over his face as he grows more and more embarrassed.
He drags his palm to his chin, pulling his exasperated face down, thinking "I've embarrassed myself to no end and all that is left for me is to crawl into a pit and-" his thoughts get cut off.
Page 2:
He is startled by another art stall. It is highlighted in his vision. "Another..." he thinks as he observes it.
He grips a piece of paper that is slightly crumpled with his left hand.
With a determined but still nervous expression, he starts heading towards the stall. "One more time! One more time and that's it..!"
He leans down to a board with artworks to take a look. His right hand holds his chin in thought as his other goes behind his back. As he observes, he notes: "Hmm... Not exactly what I am looking for, but they are very skilled."
A shadowy figure with big round eyes is sneaking next to him, while he is thinking, "Not that I can afford finding a perfect candidate at this point-" His thoughts get interrupted.
A young girl, Trucy Wright, appears from his right, startling him. His eyes widen in shock. "See something you like, mister?" she asks cheerfully, smiling widely as she leans in with her hands behind her back. Instead of her wearing her jacket, it is tied around her hips.
Page 3:
She shines brightly in front of the board as she excitedly asks Edgeworth, "Well? Well?" but he pulls back in surprise with a "Nghoooooh!" while thinking, "This child... She cannot be...!"
Trucy seems to pull a sketch of a street out of nowhere, surrounded by sparkles, exclaiming "Beautiful sketches!"
"Compelling illustrations!" she keeps going, keeps sparkling, now showing a drawing of a phoenix flying.
"Some small and practical!" now she has two framed drawing in her hand, the one in front, being of a furry animal, hiding the one behind it.
"But the best," she now holds her one viewer in suspension as she speaks, holding a huge framed artwork barely fitting in her arms yet unrevealed, "of all..."
Page 4:
She reveals the artwork, all sparkly again, with its title: "A Perfectly Done Assignment Where the Professor still Took 15 Points off for No Reason." The painting is of a woman laying down, covering her head with her right arm and with the other gripping a cloth underneath her.
Edgeworth is amazed, gazing at her in surprise, as he thinks, "Remarkable...! A child with such skill..."
And then his thoughts continue, his mood back to being exasperated, "But I cannot pick a little girl as a work partner! I'm not sure that minors can even be considered as contestants... Ngh... I am done for..."
A voice Edgeworth does not recognize speaks, "Hey, that's not the title, you know! ... True, though."
Page 5:
A zoom-in of Edgeworth's eye, wide in surprise and shining as he notices the speaker.
The mysterious speaker reveals himself, being Phoenix Wright, winking and smiling, holding a plastic bag with two wrapped burgers in it. His top is unzipped revealing a shirt that's underneath, he has no scarf and his sleeves are slightly pulled up. One hand is on his hip, standing confidently, saying "Go easy on the customers, Truce. They'll say if they want something!" He is surrounded by shoujo manga style sparkles around him.

Controversial take the AA and Narumitsu fandom are going to flame my ass whatever but as an avid Narumitsu shipper and Miles Edgeworth fan (he's my #1 favorite character of the franchise) I love bastard Phoenix but in the specific flavor of him cheating on Miles with Kristoph during the 7yg. Like. Because tbh Phoenix gets attached and loves (obsseses) over people so readily and easily that once he has very little to loose he decides to try and keep what he does have and he wants both. Why CAN'T he have both he wants both. Is it fair to Miles AND to Kristoph? No but life hasn't been fair to HIM either and it's selfish and he's a horrible partner, he feels guilty so so much, but he can't stop, he can't let go of either because he wants BOTH. He clings to both and refuses to let go. He has so much to give why can't he take a bit, too. Why can't he have them both!!!! Miles is his past and Kristoph could be part of his present and he refuses to let go of any of it. Then he fully learns was Kristoph is doing and plays the game and continues because, yeah he'll bring Kristoph down but he still wants both, even if it's not good for him. So he'll keep both as long as he can. Even if he's going to destroy one of them in the end. Once again life is not being fair and this must be Karma, for trying to grab too much, trying to hold too much in his hands. So if it's going to be over and by his own hands, he will keep indulging as long as he can.
Extra points Kristoph absolutely knows and seethes everytime Miles visits because Phoenix goes away during that time even though he ends up back with him once Miles leaves and why is Kristoph once again coming second? He hates Mile's ass (but he wonders what it is about that man. He is curious, in a morbid way. He wants a taste himself, just to see what of Miles is so good that Phoenix can't stop himself from eating from it even now).
Miles doesn't know at first but he starts suspecting and then he learns about it but he... doesn't say anything. He's a self respecting man, he SHOULD say something for his own self at the least but he. He thinks of everything that has happened. He sees how defeated Phoenix is. He remembers being defeted himself. He remembers he owes Phoenix half his life, really. He is so attached himself, and what would he do without Phoenix in his life? So he decides its fine, isn't it? Because it's partially Miles fault, too. He's not There. He's away too much, all the time, during Phoenix's time of need. And Phoenix is just a man. Just like him. And he wonders. He wishes he knew Kristoph more, and he's jealous and angry at him because Kristoph is dignified and not a bit weird in his likes and idiosyncrasies and perhaps that's the appeal, someone who isn't a bit odd and who is actually there. He remembers that one date he's ever been to, back in highschool. He remembers trying so hard to be likable. He remembers failing at it. He sees how easy it is for Kristoph to do what he couldn't and still can't. And he wonders how it is to taste that in a partner.
Anyways in the end I think they should all kiss idk 🧍🏻♀️ (there are two specific things I have consumed in this fandom that have built my hc's for Krisnix, Nrmts, and narumitskris during the 7yr gap and the fic specifically is /it/ like that's lowkey canon to me with some tweaks to fit canon timeline and events and characters).
*coughs* I rambled I just think all 3 could have the most interesting dynamic known to man YES including Miles/Kristoph can you imagine the chaos of that? It's Phoenix's worst and best dream come to life. I think Miles/Kristoph is supremely underrated actually. I think they should all fuck nasty and hate-filled. Thank you for coming to my....uh. Insanity.
(I also love the idea of Miles and Kristoph cat fighting over a man who CHEATS like girls get up omg [all 3 are deranged])

It's interesting to me that there are multiple characters in Ace Attorney who are implied to be queer in some way (Apollo and Klavier immediately spring to mind, as does Nahyuta) but it's never really talked about? Like at the absolute least Apollo has shown an interest in Klavier and Klavier’s canonically not straight, plus I think an argument could be made for Nahyuta either being implied to be nonbinary or Nahyuta straight up just canonically being nonbinary, and it's all well and good to acknowledge this in fanfiction/shipping but I don't see a lot of people actually talk about it.
Apollo shows interest in Klavier multiple times throughout AA4, a significant portion of Klavier’s interactions with both Apollo and Ema are him flirting with them, and Nahyuta was designed to "transcend gender" and was initially going to be whatever gender the player wanted him to be. All three were (I would think) purposely implied from the beginning. Phoenix and Miles weren't initially intended to be read as gay as far as I know, the writers just took Narumitsu and ran with it after PWAA was released because they saw how popular it was. In fact, the only characters that I think are blatantly implied to be not straight in the first AA game are Lana and Mia. There's never proper indication of where Mia's inclinations were before she died, but Lana mentions Mia being attracted to her.
A few more examples because Narumitsu is not and probably never will be canon, but we still get canon/implied queer characters throughout Ace Attorney:
Aura's desire to be closer to Metis is all but explicitly stated to be romantic in nature
Betty de Famme gets teased about liking Trucy, and the context makes it feel like Apollo thinks Betty has a crush on Trucy
How Daryan and Klavier’s interactions are written feel like they were together at some point but had a really messy breakup and the Gavinners is the only thing keeping them together. Daryan even gets jealous about the attention Apollo gets from Klavier (attention that, on multiple occasions, leans toward romantic).
Godot and Ron. I don't think I need to elaborate, there is absolutely no straight explanation for their interactions
Ryulock, Homumiko, Benbaro, Asoryuu, Asobaro, Shamseki, I could probably go on in regards to The Great Ace Attorney
Anyway I love Narumitsu but there are several other characters that are implied to be canonically queer from their introduction where the intention with Narumitsu changed to implying anything romantic between them came after they were introduced. Ace Attorney's implied/canonically queer characters deserve more love and more discussion about their queerness.
#ace attorney#the great ace attorney#ace attorney spoilers#tgaa spoilers#queer#lgbtqia#i could obsoletely add more but its 4:30am. im tired#i also acknowledge that some of the examples i gave could be stretching it but idc#also yes i added shamseki to the implied tgaa ships#if crossdressing as juliet and wrestling your roommate whos roleplaying as romeo isnt gay idk what is

So I've had this idea swimming in my head for a bit and I considered doing a fic about it but honestly I just want to do a headcanon write up for now at least. So narumitsu Franmaya post SOJ kids!
So I think after SOJ the elders in Kurain are going to start really getting on Maya's ass about having a baby. And it's getting really annoying. She been dating/married to Franziska for years at this point but I think they're solidly convinced she's having her "lesbian phase" and that once Pearl is of age and doesn't need looking after anymore and she's officially the Master of Kurain she's going to find herself a husband and settle down.
Maya fucking hates this. She wants them to properly recognise her relationship and while her relationship with the entire concept of having kids is very complicated, she doesn't want Channeling to die out so she condededs that fine, she'll have the damn kids but Franziska is being their mom.
Franziska has her own complicated ideas around legacy but is equally getting annoyed but she recognises this is important for Maya's culture and she doesn't dislike kids in general, she's been a good Tante to Trucy and while her relationship with Pearl is rocky she's thinks she's done a perfect job being her quasi step mother.
So they concoct a plan.
One day they sit Miles, Phoenix and Trucy down and say they're going to try IVF and they ask Miles to be the donor because in the absence of true male Von Karma DNA, honourary Von Karma DNA will do the job. Phoenix is completely on board because hes been listening to Maya complain about this for literal years and wants it to be over and done with for her. Trucy finds the idea hilarious because it promises to make their already insane family tree even more convoluted and she thrives in that chaos. She's also very aware that's she's presently the baby of the family and is a bit worried about her dad's empty nesting. Miles is honoured to be asked.
They do the thing. Then a few months later the Wright-Edgeworth's get a panicked phone call. Maya has just had a check up and has found out that she is pregnant with triplets. But one of them is male. 3 kids was going to be a lot anyway but there's enough people in Kurain that they can make it work. But Maya is very very aware of how weird the village is around men and really doesn't want her kid raised in that environment. And Phoenix and Miles, bleeding heart chronic adopters that they are agree that they'll raise the boy and Maya and Franziska can raise the girls in Kurain. So begins the chaos.
Miles does an insane amount of prep for the baby. He reads literally every parenting book he can get his hands on. He might as well have an honourary degree in child development after the amount of research he does. He calls up old contacts from universities he's taught at to get access to papers, he complies reading lists, he makes binders full of note, he goes completely overboard because he's going to raise this kid right. (I honestly think he did this when he first became involved in Trucy's life too but those stages of development are vastly different to that of a baby)
Franziska, does not. She is convinced she knows everything she could possibly need to in order to do this perfectly. Pearl turned out fine. These kids will too. Miles keeps sending her papers he's read and she will skim them, states that she already knew all of that and tell him he's over reacting. However she does do a good number of therapy sessions in preparation to get her head straight about what stuff Manfred did that was good and what stuff he did that was bad.
Phoenix is panicking and being way way too attentive of Maya. He's calling every few hours to make sure she's ok. Not because he's worried about the babies, though he is, but because his best friend/kid sister is carrying 3 human beings and he's terrified she's going to get hurt. He will cross the bridge of raising them when he gets there, he did fine with Trucy and he's kind of a dad by nature at this point.
Maya Hates being pregnant. She despises it. She can't do all the cool active stuff she's used to, Nick is being overbearing as well as all the other general stuff that sucks with being pregnant. She is not enjoying this and is actually kinda glad it's triplets because that means she has 2 female heirs an she never has to do this ever again. She is however also not stressing about raising them. She has some basics covered like making damn sure no one pits them against eachother and that they can chose among the pair of them who's going to inherit her title when they're good and ready. They'll need a certain level of spiritual training obviously but she's determined to give them as normal a life as possible and hopefully when they're old enough have them travel a lot with her and Franziska while Franziska is working.
This is a more complicated other headcanon but I think this is around the time Trucy starts properly coming to terms with the fact that the Gramaryes suck ass and she doesn't actually want anything to do with them. So she's kind of doing some soul searching and decides to take a gap year after school to figure out if she wants to be a magician or not by trying to define herself by something else. This gap year ends up manifesting by being an investigative assistant full time at the WAA while also trying out literally everything else she's ever had a passing interest in. She's figuring herself out during this time basically.
The babies come. Nick is incredibly overbearing during the labor. Franziska is just focusing on helping Maya through it and Miles is stressed the fuck out that this is happening and real.
And so Richard (after gumshoe), Sakura (named after the Pink Princess), and Brunhilde (named by Franziska because it means Armoured for battle which Maya thought sounded cool as hell) are born. The elders are very upset about how the names don't follow traditional fey naming convention but Maya doesn't care. She wants these kids to grow up knowing the exist outside of the village and giving Brunhilde a German name makes is even clearer that Franziska is her mother and nothing is changing that fact.
Maya and Franziska have a basically uneventful time raising the girls. The elders have been prepared for this for years. Maya goes by Mom/Mommy, Fran goes by Mama. As they planned they take them all over the globe with Frans work with Interpol. Maya gets to call it a holiday regularly and fobs off the elders by saying that they'll be better trained by being more worldly. She'll look after the kids as Fran works and when they go back to Kurain they switch and Fran will take cases in the japanifonia prosecutors office when the elders want to train them. They're a well oiled machine. Brunhilde ends up taking more after Fran and Sakura takes more after Miles. Brunhilde is actually really good at channeling but decides to let Sakura take the title because she enjoys it more. The elders are actually pretty glad about this because Brunhilde is absolutely terrifying. She got the Edgeworth glare which combined with supernatural powers makes her seem like something out of the Omen. Franziska and Maya couldn't be more proud. Sakura is a little more mild mannered but given her parents it's not by much. She's still a forceful presence but she's just typically a lot more easy going. She is genuinely passionate as hell about Channeling, she got Maya and Miles' autism and it's becomes her special interest. She's studious and devoted and really cares about what she does. She ends up doing a ton to revolutionise channeling when she becomes master and basically brings it into a new golden age. The two of them are close and their parents make certain to makes sure there's absolutely no bad blood there.
Miles and Phoenix have a slightly more chaotic time raising Richard. They're both workaholics and also running major legal bodies so figuring out how to make time to raise a baby amongst that is difficult.
They start with Phoenix taking paternity leave and calling in to talk with Athena. Trucy at this point is still in her final year so the office is quiet as hell and Athena HATES it. She needs a busy environment and being alone in the office is driving her mad.
So that last like a month before they just decide to baby proof the WAA and have Phoenix look after Richard while he's there. Athena likes babies (like come on, she does) but the crying is difficult on her ears so Phoenix gets her some very strong noise cancelling headphones and the pair of them come up with an insane series of methods of non verbally communicating. Phoenix and Athena barely have a braincell of common sense between them so they end up with various whiteboards all over the office to write stuff on and a nerf gun each to get each others attention.
One Apollo's first return visit from Kura'in with this as the new status quo Richard nearly chokes on a dart and he asks why they didn't just both learn ASL to which Athena and Phoenix both look at each other because the sensible solutions never even occurred to them. They learn ASL after that.
The first time they have to investigate a case Phoenix just straps up with a dad harness and takes the baby to the crime scene. This goes predictably poorly. Richard won't stop crying while they're talking to witnesses and Athena has to put on her head phones which means Phoenix has to write down everything the witness says to show her but his handwriting is terrible and he can't spell when writing so quickly so Athena keeps misunderstanding what's been said. Richard throws up on some evidence. They then get threatened by some goons which when Phoenix reports back to Miles about his day nearly gives him a heart attack.
After that one of 3 things happens. If Trucy is free, she'll either babysit her kid brother or investigate with Athena, if she isn't and Miles is free/just doing work in his office, they'll drop Richard off with him for the day where Miles has baby supplies ready. If neither of them are free, Phoenix will stay in the office and look after Richard while Athena has him on face time. That being said I'd give it 3 years before that kid's back to being dragged along to crime scenes. It's the Wright kid way.
I feel like the courthouse probably has a day care so they drop him off there during trials
When Richard is in Miles office is comparatively calm compared with the WAA. Klavier comes in to coo and sing him lullabies. Taka will sometimes take vigilant watch when he's sleeping. Simon will on occasion ask about his psychological development. But it's a lot more sane. When he's a bit older I'm reasonably certain that Simon will let him play with his katana at least once but other than that its fine.
Despite this Richard grows up to be basically fine. Weird girl energy as comes with the territory but they try to make sure he's has as normal a childhood as possible. He takes after Maya a lot which is either a biological thing or just kind of what happens when a considerable chunk of your devolpment is done in a WAA that is lacking Apollo. Miles is keeping a detailed track on all his development milestones and he's pretty far ahead but reasonably so. He's smart but he's not a Prodigy which they take to mean basically healthy. If and when he ever does struggle with something they're very good about telling him that's ok and that helping him improve while also making sure he knows it's not a moral failing to struggle. He's aware that Brunhilde and Sakura are his siblings but it's explained more as 3 kids being a lot to handle rather than the stuff about Kurain being weird. He sees them both regularly and all 4 of them love all 3 kids to pieces.
In terms of appearance as they get older, I think Richard has Maya's round soft features but Miles' grey hair and eye colour. Brunhilde is kind of the opposite, she's got the dark hair and piercing blue eyes but the sharp Edgeworth features. She also got his shitty eye sight and has glasses from a very young age. Sakura has grey narrowed eyes but round cheeks and dark hair.

Fandom song animatic tournament: Bracket 2 Side A
Sweet Talk - Saint Motel
"Sweet talk Everything you say It sounds like Sweet talk to my ears You could yell "Piss off! Won't you stay away?" It'd still be Sweet talk to my ears"
I do adore - Mindy Gledhill
"Hello, how are you, my darling, today? I fall into a pile on the floor Puppy love is hard to ignore When every little thing you do, I do adore"
Remember that we're voting on how Iconic they are for ANIMATICS, not for the song itself. In order to make things fair, the tone and mood of the song should not affect how iconic it is (for example, a serious song should not be considered more iconic than a joke song just because it's serious)
Propaganda and animatic links of the songs under the cut:
Sweet Talk - Saint Motel
Propaganda:
Not really iconic in the sense of it having too many animatics, per se... But it does have many short animations and AMVs, plus the davekat and the narumitsu ones are very iconic on their own
Animatics with the song:
Ace Attorney Narumitsu
Homestuck Davekat
Lego Monkey Kid Spicynoodles
I do adore - Mindy Gledhill
Propaganda:
it is a CORNERSTONE of ship animatics. a ship can’t be confirmed popular until someone makes an animatic of them kissing to that ukulele its just a fact
Animatics with the song:
Project Sekai
She Ra Catradora
Mystreet
Steven Universe Lapidot
Toilet Bound Hanako Kun Hananene
Please be cautious and read the title, description and warning cards on the animatic videos if you decide to watch them. If you've got specific triggers I'd recommend even more caution when watching animatics of fandoms you don't know, since sometimes canon-typical themes don't get warnings.
Please keep in mind that I don't know all the media and fandoms of the animatics provided as examples and I don't have the time (nor the will) to research them all. Don't come into my notes or my ask box complaining about them being included, I will simply block you. If a ship animatic included is about an adult and a minor, do tell me and I'll take it out of the post
ALSO keep in mind that I don't know all the artists submitted; in fact, even if I do know them I do not know absolutely nothing about them as people (I do not have twitter nor tiktok) and I could not POSSIBLY have the time to research ALL of the artists' controversies and what came of them so PLEASE don't flood my inbox with the artists' entire crime list.

Mitsurugi and Naruhodou
YAY THE BOYS
Mitsurugi
Sexuality headcanon: he's so aroace it's UNREAL he's romance favorable and sex repulsed but most people are not brave enough to see it
Gender headcanon: cis man but i have positive feelings towards the trans man headcanons people have
A ship I have with said character: while i started out only partial to qpr narumitsu i'm fully on board for narumitsunoko now. i love every possible permutation and get-together order there is.....as long as it's still qpr-flavor anyway dkjhfdk
A brotp I have with said character: MAYOI. they are the friends ever and i think we should get to see them casually hang out more often in official media. they need to have tonosaman watch parties together
A notp I have with said character: any romantic pairing ever sorry not sorry
A random headcanon: this is silly and based on absolutely nothing but. terrible cook. he always follows recipes to the letter. it never turns out. he is endlessly distressed by this.
General opinion over said character: man i knew he'd probably win my heart even though i really didn't like him in the first case, i just wasn't really expecting it to be this thorough of a victory for him. the minute they gave him trauma i knew it was over for me. i really love how willing he is to grow and change once he realizes what's happened to him, and how much he wants others to have that opportunity too. i'm also really fond of how he too is a silly little guy despite the Everything, and that he was weird even before the trauma, instead of being weird because of the trauma.
Naruhodou
Sexuality headcanon: disaster bi. everyone is too Pretty
Gender headcanon: same as mitsurugi. cis man, but i have no objections (pun intended) to trans man naruhodou either
A ship I have with said character: again, same as mitsurugi sdkdkjs. qpr narumitsu is my original home but now i'm fond of narumitsunoko especially. our specific take on the trio simply cannot be beat.
A brotp I have with said character: mei! i really loved when they were investigating together in bridge to the turnabout and i think they should do stuff like that more often. mei's hard-won begrudging respect for him and his pseudo-fearful respect for her is so fun to see play out. i want to put them in a room together and watch the shenanigans unfold.
A notp I have with said character: ayame. it's just....no. regardless of any lingering feelings, i don't think it could ever work. naruhodou has changed too much, and ayame hurt him a lot, even if he's not willing to admit it. even if her love for him was genuine, she did still lie to and manipulate him for eight whole months, and that's not something that can just be fixed so easily, especially when naruhodou's feelings for her were essentially just puppy love. i dunno, maybe i'm too aro for it, but it just really bothers me. i don't even really care for their interactions at the end of bridge to the turnabout after the Reveal. stop that naruhodou!
A random headcanon: he can fall asleep literally anywhere. he does not take advantage of this power. he is constantly running on the minimum sleep required to function.
General opinion over said character: soggy wet pathetic man who just keeps getting into situations and doesn't understand how. his distressed sprite is one of my favorites i giggle every time it happens. i think he should just keep being a disaster forever it's great actually
#mt answers#you know. i think i WILL tag this. at least for my own purposes dkjdkj#mitsurugi reiji#naruhodou ryuuichi#gyakuten saiban#badgerhuan#roch

Wow. I didn't know so many people liked my rambling on a 7 year old post. I didn't know it had even been read by more than two people until it showed up on my own feed. So, thank you :)
If anybody is interested, there are some further thoughts I have to this:
While I do sincerely believe this behavior is part of his personality, I think it was heavily exacerbated by the multiple traumas he experienced stacked on top of each other. In a way, I think letting other people call the shots in terms of relationships is a coping mechanism.
It seems to me, as a child, Phoenix was not popular. I don't necessarily think he was disliked, but he didn't seem to have any friends. It wasn't until the class trial that he ironically got any. I'm not 100% knowledgeable on all the nuances and minutiae but from my amateur understanding, not even Larry was his friend until the class trial (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
So I'm imagining little Phoenix having a lot of stuff happen to him within a very short time frame all within a few months. Little Phoenix with no friends gets blamed for a theft he didn't commit and is ostracized by his whole class. The one person who stands up for him ends up becoming such an insanely close friend that Phoenix would quit art school to become a lawyer for him. Not six months into their friendship, close friend inexplicably disappears from his life without reason or explanation.
What must little Phoenix be thinking? What is going through his mind? Does he feel abandoned? Does he blame himself for any of it? I can't imagine him feeling blameless knowing the everything we know about him.
So. Trauma. And definitely abandonment issues. Throughout the rest of his adolescence, I assume he never had a friendship with anyone to the degree he had with Edgeworth. Yeah, Larry and everything but I don't think Phoenix would've gone to law school for him.
And then Dahlia comes along and breaks what's barely holding together to a degree where I'm honestly surprised Phoenix can still function as a human being.
Phoenix and Miles' childhood friendship was instantaneous. Miles defends Phoenix, bam, Miles and Phoenix best friends in true childhood fashion.
Then, like it's fate, some girl falls into his lap and suddenly it's an instantaneous connection. A false connection, but obviously Phoenix doesn't know that. So with Dahlia he thinks he finds what he's been missing for so long and becomes obsessed because it's a high he's been looking for since Miles left.
Then Dahlia goes and reveals how much she'd been manipulating Phoenix and suddenly he's back to when Miles left. Abandoned. Confused. Hurt. And not fully understanding any of it cause it's too painful and too cruel and hits too many triggers.
So I think there's honestly a bit of a split between Phoenix's acquiescence in terms of before and after. In both phases, yes. Phoenix still lets people determine the parameters of the relationship in the beginning but it's much more open and raw in a "heart upon your sleeve" kind of way in hopes of getting friends. And then he gets hurt too much in too cruel of ways that he lets people choose their relationship with him not out of a desire for friendship but from a desire not to get hurt. As a defense.
If he doesn't choose how these relationships with others go, then he can blame himself less when it goes south. And having other people make their own boundaries means that he never has to give up his own. He lets people become his friends or assistants or what have you without ever sacrificing his own vulnerability. He may let people define the relationship, but having a relationship doesn't mean you can get anything from him. He's still closed off, evasive, and sometimes down right mean if it'll keep people at a safe enough distance.
In regards to Narumitsu, I won't repeat myself, but I would like to add that in conjunction with all the other fucked up shit Phoenix has had to deal with in his life, admitting his feelings to Edgeworth (or himself let's be fucking honest here), is so far down his list of priorities. Cause not only does he have all that past trauma, but he also has to live forever with the aftermath of Edgeworth's "suicide" where he was abandoned again and I really think he walks on eggshells around Edgeworth for that reason, why he represses all his love and therefore won't confess to the feelings he's subsequently in denial of.
Phoenix is great. I love him. I love picking his traumatized, fictional little brain. And I love rambling about things I should probably let go of. But he's just. So. Interesting!
the best running theme of Phoenix Wright is that he 100% just rolls with whatever relationship other people decide to have with him. His only girlfriend basically just walked up to him and said “you. we’re dating now and you love me very much” and he was like “yeah okay, lemme know if you have a sweater I can wear to really drive the point home.” The Fey sisters basically grabbed him and said “I guess you’re our brother now” and he was like “yeah sure do you have any family drama I could get involved in?” Even Trucy just sorta told him “hey you’re my dad” and he was like “Mm. Guess I’d better get a job, huh.”

Ik your biggest pet peeve is people getting the bracelet wrong, but what is a Popular Apollo and or Klavier HC that you look at and just think 'no. Wrong.' (alternatively just.. bad takes on the characters, any of the AA cast really)
actually yeah let's get into this before i overthink it. this got really long so i'll put it under a read more
personally i get that it's funny that pre-relationship apollo would turn klavier away and be annoyed of his. klavierness. and it makes SENSE because like. it's how we see them act in the games. i especially love their banter when they're in a relationship, even if this "ew klavier" facade is put on from time to time as a clear joke between them. sometimes, though, the way people portray how apollo reacts to and treats klavier in the context of a developing/established romantic relationship reminds me of a certain ship from another fandom i will rather not mention… particularly the fact that a lot of the comments made towards the content for it was like "you do know people in relationships are supposed to LIKE each other… right?" so yeah. you don't HAVE to portray apollo as 100% lovey dovey and mushy brained (though it's funny and kind of sweet. my guilty pleasure 🥴) but at a certain point, him being constantly annoyed makes me feel like. why is he even dating klavier yk?
as for klavier… we all love a man that dresses provocatively. but ig sometimes it goes too far, to the point where it's kind of ridiculous? i understand he's a rockstar AND a prosecutor, but i feel like he does in fact keep those two professions separate. we all agree he looks good in fishnets and platform stilettos and whatever, but for crime scenes and at the office, i feel like he'd stick to clothes that are more fit for court (albeit with the cleavage still lol). aside from professional settings even, i just think he KNOWS how to dress for the situation! no one in their right mind would wear heels to the gym or when they go hiking. you can look slutty AND be comfortable at the same time! anyone who knows how to dress up knows how to show skin (or not 🥴 black turtlenecks anyone?) in other ways. same as how no one would wear their court suit to headline a concert (ik we can attribute it to sprite limit but it's ok capcom. i know you just don't like klavier)
then there's trucy my love who is always the wingwoman. don't get me wrong i like the idea. but sometimes the content of her acting as a wingman makes her kind of disrespectful of apollo's boundaries. i mean she tends to push him outside of his comfort zone in the games, some of the things i've seen her do in fan content is just. holy fuck! you would never do that to a friend! let alone a sibling! though at this point that's just one of those fandom tropes already—going behind someone's back, setting them up to get into situations they've already stated they don't wanna be in, because it's definitely perfectly fine if it's all for love 🙄 you can argue she does the same when she makes them assistants for her magic show, but at least apollo somewhat knew what kind of stuff he's getting into beforehand. whatever wingman thing trucy does is always just thrown at him with no warning at all. but again, this is also just a trope common in a lot of fandoms when it comes to women who are in any sort of close proximity to mlm ships. i just wanna see more of apollo and trucy's relationship as siblings/friends beyond the context of her helping him get together with klavier, too! she's got a life outside of being a support character! it wouldn't hurt to have a conversation or two that isn't about the love interest or a murder, you know
this got long i'm sorry i just have so many Feelings and i've gone through so many fics and comics and ourgh. i’m a natural hater. speedrun of some other things:
narumitsu (whether one or both of them) having bitter feelings toward klavier post-7yg when other kids' parents manipulating said kid in ways that hurt either of nrmt have been shown in aa and they're on very much good terms with those kids too.
apollo personally being the head of rebuilding the justice system in khura'in. he'd help nahyuta yes, he stayed to be a defense attorney there bc there were no defense attorneys and it helps to have at least one, but being in charge of the entire thing? no. just no. soj itself has too many colonialist themes already
follow up to that last one: klavier moving to khura'in to help apollo??? and be his co-counsel? sorry but there are many lines from him that established he loves being a prosecutor too much to give that up just for a man
apollo or athena calling phoenix dad (in a canon setting). no. just no. esp if he adopts them???? gorl i love found family too but damn this is a workplace, not an orphanage...
to end with something silly: anyone being an aquarius/scorpio (sorry lmao this one is definitely personal. other people will hate these signs for general reasons but mine can very much be narrowed down to four people. i'm a special little boy)
#ask#anonymous#re: that last one though. i made kristoph a scorpio. bc he reminds me of one of those four people lol

Dear daesongfg,
Thank you for the request. As mixed as our feelings are, you can be helpful during the best of times. I will reward you with a promise of fulfilling your Phoenix x Iris request you sent us a few months ago. Yes, we still have it and have saved it. Essays often take a long time to do and it depends on how much of a passion project it is.
And, Gumshoe “Letty” Fan,
I also thank you for sending in the request. You’re awesome and I enjoy answering your letters.
Without further ado! It is now time for me to finally write a shipping essay about my favorite ship, Narumitsu/Wrightworth.
For every story in any variation, that being TV shows, games, movies, etc. it's a common theme for the main character to have a love interest that they are destined to one day get together or marry. This is what is considered a canon ship. Of course, there are exceptions to canon ships not stay together forever, but it's a common trope that there's always the love interest the main protagonist is destined to be together with. This also can many times include side characters being destined to be together with other side characters in the same way. However, for every canon ship with characters that end up together, there are the other ships that aren't canon, but fans wish to see get together. These ships can even become more popular than the canon ship itself. That's where we are introduced to Wrightworth or Narumitsu.
Obviously, every shipper of Narumitsu knows that Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth are not in love or are canon. Sure, you might have those that proclaim that it's canon or even joke about it, but most of the fans are very aware that it's not canon. It's considered a running joke that we are being delusional to thinking it's canon, even though the idea is practically laughable. Even the creator of Ace Attorney, Shu Takumi, had said that he based Phoenix Wright's relationship with Miles Edgeworth on the close relationship between two male friends. In other words, it was never meant to hint or become anymore than just that: friends. So, why do so many of us Ace Attorney fans ship these two beloved friends?

For me, I have always been a big sucker for canon ships. I think most of us have at some point in our lives. One of the most common canon ships were the childhood best friends like Kim and Ron from Kim Possible, Danny and Sam from Danny Phantom and Tea and Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh. I was also into other canon ships like Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold, Aang and Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender and Jake and Rose from American Dragon Jake Long. The time I started driving out of the canonship wagon was actually Hetalia where none of the characters had anyone they were canon to be together with, yet there were so many relationships that had borderline romantic intentions (such as England and France) with some complex and close relationship that go back thousands of years. It was at that point I began understanding why so many fans preferred noncanon ships over canon ones.

One thing you have to keep in mind is that, as much as I did enjoy The Mod's Interpretation of Narumayo, while still keeping in mind that they aren't canon, it doesn't ignore the fact that Narumayo was likely expected to be canon in the trilogy. This kinda becomes an issue, because you have a great buildup between Phoenix and Maya from their complex relationship and chemistry to their teamwork together. Yet, over the course of the story, that eventually breaks apart. Phoenix gets disbarred, Maya starts training, they both kinda do their own thing, then they reunite and... that's it. Had it ended with the trilogy, then that'd be it. The rest could be left up for interpretation, but as it stands now, it seems as though Phoenix and Maya becoming a pair is at a standstill. Maya literally does nothing for Phoenix, until he gets back to work. She goes from a side character and close friend that Phoenix would give his life for to just a colleague he'd still give his life for, but now it feels typical. I felt like there was much more intensity when Trucy was held hostage in Dual Destinies than when Maya was kidnapped in Spirit of Justice. It felt like another Farewell my Turnabout 2.0 and it was over right when it started. Any fire that started between these two has now dimmed down to being friend zoned.

Miles and Phoenix, on the other hand, have progressed over the course of the six games. Even Miles Edgeworth still mentions or talks about Phoenix Wright in his own spin-off games. Unlike Narumayo, Narumitsu has a relationship that has progressed throughout the trilogy, the two Investigation games, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. It never felt like a standstill. Let us see how this relationship progressed over time, starting from the beginning.
In the first game, we are introduced to Miles Edgeworth as the prosecutor, who cares about nothing else but Guilty Verdicts. When asked if he knew Miles Edgeworth, you are given the choices of Phoenix basically saying he knows Miles Edgeworth, but sees him as a cold, ruthless man that cares nothing more than Guilty Verdicts. When the two finally interact, Phoenix is the Defendant, set up to be Guilty by Redd White. Miles Edgeworth tells Phoenix that everything will be in Redd White's favor and that he will do everything in his power to make sure he proves the Defendant Guilty. Phoenix responds by saying, “you've changed,” hinting that these two have a history together. In the next case, Miles Edgeworth helps out Phoenix during a trial to get testimony out of a witness. Afterwards, he tells Phoenix that he has developed “unnecessary feelings,” because of Phoenix and never expected to ever see him again before telling him to his face he never wants to see him again. Again, hinting that Phoenix and Edgeworth have a history and that this history is resulting in Miles Edgeworth feeling uncertain about who he is and where he's going in life. Even if you believed this isn't related to any romantic intentions whatsoever, it's clear that these two are so close that Phoenix was able to make Miles Edgeworth feel uncertain about himself.
It is in the second to last case where we discover the history and backstory between Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth. We find out that Phoenix Wright was inspired to become a Defense Attorney, because of a class trial he was forced into at the age of nine, thanks to a bunch of kids and teachers blaming him for stealing lunch money, because he was sick on the same day the money was stolen. Miles Edgeworth was the one that defended Phoenix, followed by Larry Butz. Phoenix Wright mentions that the moment he was held on that class trial was the first time he truly knew what it was like to be alone. If we are to believe this, this would mean that Phoenix was a natural social bird that talked with and played with all the students in his classroom. The moment he was blamed for stealing lunch money was the moment that everyone turned their backs on him. Having Miles Edgeworth stand up for Phoenix, despite himself being the victim, inspired Phoenix, because that was the kind of person he wanted to be. He learned that day that people are only friendly with you to be nice, but the moment that you become suspicious, they will turn their backs on you at the flip of a dime. Miles Edgeworth gained nothing by defending Phoenix, but did so, because he knew and believed Phoenix Wright was innocent, likely because this same kid was just as social with him as he was with everyone else in the classroom. Miles Edgeworth remembered the kindness and friendliness of Phoenix Wright, knowing without a doubt that he wouldn't steal something that didn't belong to him. That wasn't the kind of person he was.
Though, this would also be the start of a blooming relationship between Phoenix and Miles. By 9-10 months, young Miles transferred due to having lost his father from a murder. It was at that moment in time that his happiness began to crumble. He lost his father and felt as though he lost everything. He was taken into the household of the Von Karma's, having to carry a wound that was never truly healed, being Miles Edgeworth had believed he accidentally killed his father. By the time Miles Edgeworth began Prosecuting, young Phoenix in college saw a newspaper article of Miles Edgeworth as the Demon Prosecutor. Phoenix could see that his old friend was sad, so he began trying to call and message him. Unfortunately, Miles Edgeworth didn't want to respond or talk to Phoenix Wright. The young boy he was friends with for a short time was the one person out of everyone else in his life Miles Edgeworth didn't want to talk to, because of not wishing to involve him with his father's murder and DL-6. Even if there was no romantic intentions, no one can deny that Miles Edgeworth cared so much about Phoenix that he feared of what would happen if Phoenix knew what his best friend did to his own father.
When Phoenix Wright realized Miles Edgeworth was not answering his calls, he made the decision to go into law and face Miles Edgeworth in court as a Defense Attorney. His intention was to save Miles Edgeworth, because he knew that his old friend was hurting. Most people would not bother reuniting with old school friends from childhood, outside of family reunions, yet Phoenix studied and worked his butt off just to save someone he was very close to. Anyone would cross a burning bridge to save a child or best friend, but rarely would anyone give up their passion and dreams to save a lost friend. If that's not love, I don't know what is. Not even I would do something like that for my friends or even my cousin for that matter. The most I'd do is call or email them to see if they were doing okay.

Of course, Phoenix Wright does eventually save Miles Edgeworth and is able to prove Miles Edgeworth was innocent of DL-6. Then, we get to Rise From the Ashes, demonstrating how far gone Miles Edgeworth was to the point of allowing higher authorities to manipulate him without question. This leads to the death note: Miles Edgeworth Chooses Death. However you interpret it, no one can deny that Phoenix was mentally hurt. He had gone through so much to become a Defense Attorney just to save the closest, most dearest person in his life, someone he trusted more than Maya Fey and even said it to her face. After all of that, Phoenix Wright realized that his friend committed suicide or else abandoned him. He felt betrayed, but more than that, he felt like a failure, that he had studied and worked all for nothing. There's no doubt that Phoenix Wright was very effected by this. Of course, he and Miles Edgeworth would eventually talk things out, but it was clear that Miles Edgeworth has effected Phoenix Wright more than any other person. The last person that hurt him to this degree was Dahlia Hawthorne.
Miles Edgeworth would eventually help out Phoenix in the third game where he traveled to Hazakura Temple under the assumption that Phoenix Wright was close to death. Of course, it turned out Phoenix had a cold, but it is clear that Miles Edgeworth would stop at nothing to check on his closest and dearest friend. Posing in as a Defense Attorney isn't something that Miles Edgeworth would do for just anyone. He wouldn't even do it for Raymond Shields, yet he did so for Phoenix Wright. It's clear that Phoenix is someone just as dear to Miles Edgeworth as he is to Phoenix Wright. This is especially proven in Miles Edgeworth's own spin-off series: Miles Edgeworth Investigations. Much like how Miles Edgeworth inspired Phoenix Wright to become a Defense Attorney, Miles Edgeworth was inspired by Phoenix Wright to continue walking as a Prosecutor. He knows that a Prosecutor's job is just as significant to saving people as a Defense Attorney. They're two different jobs, but all have the same common goal: to help those that need a lawyer. A Defense Criminal Lawyer is supposed to help those accused of a crime and expected to appear in court, whereas a Prosecuting Attorney is supposed to help the people by proving criminals of their criminality no matter their origins, class or character.
In Dual Destinies, Miles Edgeworth returns as a Chief Prosecutor, having used the years of Phoenix Wright's Disbarred period to ensure he would still be able to work in law. It's very clear that Miles Edgeworth was the most involved in Phoenix Wright's life during those seven years of being without a job, besides playing poker and the piano. Miles Edgeworth ensured that Phoenix Wright didn't rot himself. It's even likely that he may've helped Phoenix Wright whenever he was in a financial situation or needing help caring for Trucy. Miles Edgeworth proclaiming that Trucy was hiding in his luggage “again” tells us that Trucy often uses Miles Edgeworth's luggage to hitchhike abroad. In other words, during the days Phoenix Wright was with Miles Edgeworth abroad, Trucy likely snuck aboard via Edgeworth's luggage.
Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright work together to solve the UR-1 Incident, after returning back into law. Not only does Miles Edgeworth trust Phoenix Wright wholeheartedly to help him with a case, something he'd consider unthinkable in the first game, but he continually helps Phoenix whenever he's got himself in a crisis of Trucy or Maya being in a hostage situation. Miles Edgeworth never doubts Phoenix and knows he's not someone that would defend a criminal or criminal actions, so when the time comes that he does, Miles Edgeworth can smell it from afar. He knows Phoenix that much, something Apollo didn't catch onto in Spirit of Justice. Miles Edgeworth helps Phoenix Wright investigate the final case in both Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. There's never really a time where Miles Edgeworth never tried helping out Phoenix, except maybe Apollo Justice, but I think we can both be certain that someone had to pull the strings to ensure Phoenix Wright would be the Head of the Jury and was likely the one to call Ema Skye on the case.
(Art by Studio Kawaii)
As I have stated at the beginning, it is very clear that Narumitsu/Wrightworth is not canon and it was originally meant to depict the relationship between two male friends, but it's understandable and clear why many fans prefer it. Unfortunately, Phoenix's relationship with Iris never truly progressed after the third game and his relationship with Maya stood on a standstill after Apollo Justice. Most people often are turned off by canon ships, because they don't work in some form. Afterall, no canon ship is perfect. Some claim it's the age gap, which I find to be trivial at best and highly disagree that it's pedophilia (you'd be surprised what you hear from those that don't like Narumayo). There is also the employee x boss dynamic, which I do find distasteful, but nitpicky as well. Most of it all comes down to the ship not going anywhere and losing its touch after the trilogy.
Narumitsu is beloved, because it is a ship with a complex relationship for all of us to look forward to that is continually growing. The two characters are always helping each other grow and develop as people. They are inspired by each other and seem to grow closer at each passing day. Phoenix can fight with Miles without the fear of losing that relationship. They're not afraid to pick on each other or open up when needed. Miles Edgeworth shows more of his weaker side around Phoenix Wright and the same goes vice versa. As far as I know, neither Phoenix or Miles have shown their weaker side to anyone else, not even to Larry Butz. Perhaps it's never meant to be canon, but no one can deny that it has a much stronger chemistry and progression to look forward to.
(Art by Studio Kawaii)
I'm so glad I was able to finally talk about my favorite ship. It's one I believe deserves the recognition it gets and I'm glad it has such a huge following. It just goes to show that not every non canon ship has to be weird. You just have to think outside the box.
- Mod Edgeworth
P.S. As a last minute edit, while Wrightworth/Narumitsu is still my favorite, now have two other ships that are equally my favorite:
DON’T JUDGE ME! If you’d like to know why I ship these guys, send me an essay request.

Miles Edgeworth Gets A Migraine
A little over 1000 words of self-indulgent narumitsu.
Miles Edgeworth did not have a migraine. He simply had a headache, the kind that always followed a long day of reading case files, the dry, lengthy paragraphs making his vision blur. Sometimes, his vision stayed foggy when he looked up, with little dark splotches obscuring his sight in inky patches that resembled the notes he had scrawled on the sides of each paper. That was just what a hard day of work did to a person sometimes. A sign of focus.
“I dunno, that sounds like a migraine to me,” Wright replied after his lengthy explanation. He opened his mouth to argue but Wright cut him off and called down the hall, “Gumshoe, how often does he get migraines?”
“Hm maybe once every week or two,” the detective called back, “the calming tea is in the blue box on the shelf for it, pal.”
Edgeworth groaned and put a hand to his temple.
“I daresay I wouldn’t have a headache at all if my office were empty.”
The remark came out weaker than expected, as turning up to glare at his unwelcome visitor made Edgeworth’s head spin.
“Are you sure you’re alright? You’re looking a little pale to me.”
The genuine care in Wright’s voice made him feel more nauseous than the pain did, and his stomach did another flip.
“I am perfectly finngh!” Edgeworth slammed his hand on the table and winced at the sound. Sitting up made his vision swim again. He tried to look Wright in the eye again, to prove how serious he was, but the corner of the room housing Phoenix Wright became a blur that wouldn’t clear no matter how much he blinked.
“Objection,” a voice said much quieter than usual, and Edgeworth felt a hand come to steady his shoulder, “I don’t think you are. And I don’t think you’re going to take a break unless I make you.”
Now his coat was being slipped around his arms, the way someone would coax a child into one.
“Wright…” Edgeworth realized how little energy he had left to argue.
“Charge me for a consultation or something if you can’t stand not working, but I’m consulting you on how to walk you home.”
“You couldn’t afford it,” was all he could muster as he was marched out of his own office.
--
It would feel weird, having Wright in his house, if the pain in his head wasn’t distracting him. A hand prompted him to take off his coat, guided him up the stairs, and tried to get him to sit down; he obeyed all the suggestions mechanically, feeling like he was in a dream.
“I found some ibuprofen in your medicine cabinet, but you’re almost out,” Wright reappearing in the doorway started Edgeworth back into reality, “I got you some water to take it with too, unless you don’t drink tap water and have some fancier bottled kind you-”
“I am fine,” Edgeworth interrupted.
Nonetheless, he took the painkiller with a few swallows of water.
“I’m not going to argue if you’re fine again, but can I ask what makes your migraines go away?”
Edgeworth shrugged.
“Sleep, I suppose. When I wake the next day, the pain is gone, even if my head still feels a bit cloudy afterward.”
“So why not sleep?”
Again that earnest voice made his stomach do a flip.
Perhaps it was because they were in his home, a place with none of the expectations of their usual offices, that he found himself answering. The dim light and drawn curtains of the bedroom reminded him of the confessional feel of sleepovers from long ago, whispering secrets to a friend obscured by the dark.
“It is, for lack of better word...boring,” he turned his face in case Wright could see it growing red, “it may hurt to read or watch anything, but it doesn’t mean I’m tired, and sitting in the dark with nothing but a pounding head…and once I lie down, it’s too hard to get back up.”
He could feel his hand grip his sleeve in embarrassment. A hand was on his back but he couldn’t meet Wright’s eye; he didn’t want to see his pity.
“Alright, you got me,” the cheerful voice took him by surprise, “I guess you get to add another hour or two to this consultation bill.”
The bed creaked Phoenix Wright, rival attorney, made himself at home on the other side of the bed.
“You lie here and I’ll keep you company until you’re tired. Don’t worry, I have notes for a case on me that I can review, and I’m sure talking to me will bore you to sleep pretty fast.”
The absurdity of it all made Edgeworth laugh. He closed his eyes and leaned back into the bed.
“Yes, do enlighten me about what goes through that head of yours.”
--
Just as promised, he couldn’t remember what story Wright had been telling; Edgeworth didn’t realize he had even fallen asleep until he awoke hours later. It must have been late, because the room was completely dark, silent except for what sounded like the rhythmic breathing of someone sleeping. Edgeworth tried to remember Wright’s departure, if there was one at all, but his head felt too fuzzy to conjure up any memories. Finally, he rolled back over, grabbing the pillow next to him, and drifted off again.
The next time Edgeworth awoke it was morning. The daylight that peeked through the edges of the curtains was brighter than he was used to; he must have overslept. He bolted up at the realization and got his second shock of the morning. The pillow he had held on to last night was much larger than he thought. In fact, it was sporting crumpled up work clothes and a serious case of bedhead.
“Wright!”
The disheveled form of Phoenix Wright jolted up in bed next to him.
“Oh man, my bad, I must have dozed off too,” he said with a sheepish grin.
“Besides the point. What time is it, Wright?!”
“Don’t worry Edgeworth,” Wright yawned, “you didn’t oversleep. You were talking about how out of it you feel the day after a migraine so I had Maya cancel your morning appointments.”
“What?”
“Yeah, she said she just told everyone you had an urgent case against her to prosecute or something. It’s kinda sad that works, huh, but now you’ve got plenty of time to rest.”
“Oh.”
Edgeworth found himself at a complete lack of words, unsure if he should be angry or touched at the ways his rival had tried to look after him. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had a morning to himself, and he had most certainly never had a late morning-in with someone sleeping next to him. The reality of it made his cheeks burn; he looked over at Wright to see if he was anywhere near as flustered, but Wright had already rolled over to fall back asleep.
The sight made him feel one hundred different things at once that he couldn’t pin down. He had almost found a word for some of them when Wright sprung up from bed once again.
“Crap!” he yelled, “Maya didn’t cancel my appointments!”

Collegial Support ~A Narumitsu One-Shot~

Additional Notes: Hello everyone! I'm so anxiously excited for this one. I'm still trying to find my footing with this pairing, but couldn't help but dive headfirst into some good ol' office loving. Soundproofing in prosecutorial spaces is a blessing, actually. I'm so obsessed with how much these two adore each other, and subsequently so obsessed with bringing that element to light!
Super happy to finally share this with you all, and shoutout to the Lawyer Cult/the *cough hack* Hivemind for offering encouragement along the way! The excitement and support offered necessary boosts to keep going, so I appreciate you all <3. Hope you enjoy!

Phoenix was nothing but casual whistles as he strolled through rival territory. Nothing was out of the ordinary; it had been a regular day, a regular workload, and regular chain of beckoning messages on his phone.
“Wright?”
“Hey baby. What’s up?”
“Are you busy currently?”
“Not really, why?”
“Come to my office at your earliest convenience. I require your assistance.”
“Be over soon <3”
He had wrapped things up, left matters in capable hands, and headed over to the Prosecutor Building. It was not an unusual sight, as everyone in the space immediately recognized his intentions. Thus, unimpeded and contented, did he journey up to the office of utmost desire, mentally preparing for cases and kisses a plenty.
But walking into his partner’s office changed that. Where he expected to find Miles sitting at his desk, he instead found him standing on the opposite side. Where he expected to immediately catch those gorgeous silver eyes, he instead found a tense, burgundy backside. And where he expected to find the usual poised posture, he instead found a pose of what appeared to be frustration. For whatever reason, the normally composed man was leant over the mahogany, head hung and hands fisted.
Any manner of salutation died in his throat, instead being replaced with a concerned inquiry as he strolled forward.
“Miles? Is something wrong?”
He watched as Miles sighed harshly, but remained frozen in his spot.
“I would say so, yes,” he grumbled, his baritone deeper and thicker than usual.
“What is it?” Phoenix asked, coming up to his partner’s side and seating himself on the edge of the desk.
Again, Phoenix was expecting something work-related. Perhaps one of the other prosecutors was ill-performing. Or maybe a case was quickly getting too complicated. There wasn’t much that seemed to shake the sturdy foundation that was Miles Edgeworth after all; he was poised, stoic, and powerful. So he prepared himself for something of an intellectual explanation, quietly observing and waiting.
He watched as Miles slowly brought his head up, his bangs shifting and continuing to border his face. He heaved another heavy sigh, and still continued to avoid eye contact. Phoenix felt his wavy brows furrow tighter, but he held his tongue. Eventually, Miles did end up breaking the silence, albeit in gritted, deep tones.
“It would appear that certain...matters...are spiraling out of control.”
“Such as?”
Another sigh, another grumble, and another pause. Miles’ head seemed to dip back down then, grey hairs effectively hiding his visage away.
“It’s abhorrent.”
“Okay?” Phoenix softly pressed, “What’s going on?”
There was another pregnant pause then, the air growing noticeably thicker. Despite the uptick in tension, the oddity of it all, Phoenix didn’t take his eyes off his partner, patiently waiting for an answer. He noted that Miles almost seemed to be trembling, something that earned a tautness in his throat. Still, the possible explanations swirling through his head didn’t even come close to what was eventually uttered.
“...Infernal physiological processes, ones that have never hindered me in the past.”
What?
Mismatched eyes blinked numerous times, attempting to make sense of the unexpected shift. What did that even mean? Sleep troubles? Anxieties? A bad craving for burgers from being around the kids for too long?
“I don’t understand,” Phoenix said.
Miles seemed to snarl, his hands tightening against the deep mahogany. Though Phoenix couldn’t see his face, he could easily picture the deep sneer his lips had likely hiked into.
“Must you make me say it, Wright?” he hissed.
“Yeaaaah?” Phoenix drawled, nervously resting his hand upon his neck, “Because I’m not following.”
The harshest sigh of them all sounded in response, before Miles’ head drooped even lower. He seemed to take a few beats of cleansing breaths, before miraculously pivoting to catch Phoenix’s stare. Heterochromatic eyes took note of numerous elements then: the sharpness to the opposing glare, the deep furrow to his brows, the very pronounced swath of crimson beneath ivory skin, and the sporadic beads of sweat against his hairline. He certainly looked shaken, and once more did Phoenix’s brain clamber for a reason. Again, was he proven deeply wrong in a matter of seconds, the true answer utterly whiting out his entire system.
“I could not stop thinking about you this morning. And it’s landed me in quite the...predicament.”
A pin could be audible in the space if one were to fall, the office growing incredibly silent. Likely because Phoenix wasn’t even breathing; words and inhalations had utterly jammed in his throat. Outwardly, he was frozen in time, locked in the utmost surprise. Inwardly however, his subconscious was clambering and screaming. It ran through the words over and over again, attempting to process, attempting to taste. Because, there was absolutely no way that was the true reason. Despite dating Miles for a while, despite being intimate, there was no way such troubles spilled off his tongue.
So, when Phoenix finally got air moving through his lungs again, he quickly spoke his incredulousness.
“You’re kidding.”
An even deeper shade of crimson gripped Miles’ cheeks, and he ran to hide behind curtains of grey hair once more.
“No.”
“R-really, you must be joking,” Phoenix said, his hand gripping his neck a bit tighter.
“Does it look like I am?” Miles snapped.
No. It didn’t. The tension, the embarrassment, the desperation...It absolutely all checked out. And the more Phoenix processed it, the more he burrowed into the delightfully chaotic situation, the more he fell under a similar spell. The corners of lips began to twitch upwards, and his heart began to pound harder and faster within his chest. He stepped back through the situation, all the way back to the initial text messages. And when the disguising blanket draped upon “I need your assistance” was yanked off to reveal “I need you...”
“Wow, I...Wow,” he breathed, beginning to grin and chuckle all the same. When Miles simply groaned and remained silent, he couldn’t help but state the obvious, cementing them both into the humorous yet delicious reality.
“Esteemed Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth rushed me to his office because he was horny?”
Said esteemed prosecutor recoiled like he been slapped, before scrunching himself down even further.
“Don’t say it like that,” he grumbled.
But where one was falling, the other was rising; Phoenix found himself beaming more and more, amusement and interest quickly surging within.
“Ahh right, always one for eloquence,” he snickered, moving his hand upwards to run through ebony strands, “How about...Miles Edgeworth couldn’t get his rampant, raging desire under control?”
“Wright.”
Phoenix couldn’t help but giggle more. The cheerful noise pried silver eyes back in his direction, but not in a preferred manner; Miles was glaring something terrible.
“And quit laughing,” he hissed.
“I’m not laughing at you, baby,” Phoenix said, controlling his mirth but still grinning all the while, “I’m just...blown away- maybe even flattered?”
When Miles answered with nothing but an embarrassed exhalation, Phoenix couldn’t help but look on with a more sheepish expression himself.
“You’re...that attracted to me?”
“Unfortunately...” Miles sighed.
Phoenix couldn’t help but giggle once again, feeling heat spread out across numerous places in his body. He saw fit to punch through the barriers Miles was hidden behind then, reaching out with a hand to softly frame his sharp jaw.
“Well, if it’s any consolation, I’m insanely attracted to you too,” he murmured, giving a few strokes of his thumb, “Always have been. And you’re lucky I am because you’re an ass, and you scared me.”
“Understandable. It was...a shameful move.”
It was then that Phoenix began to grow frustrated with the frozen state of his partner. That, and he felt inclined to test the waters of attraction, to delight in the desperation Miles was trapped in. He had called him over in search of distressed release after all, so it was high time Phoenix unlocked the apprehension and allowed them both to enjoy.
His grin turned a bit slyer then, and he hopped off his mahogany perch, venturing to stand behind his Miles’ backside. Phoenix watched as burgundy stiffened even more, but before any objections could be raised, he was snaking his hands around the bent-over form. Grasping his torso, he pulled Miles upright, pulled him flush. He even went so far as to jut his hands downward, tugging that glorious behind into his already-swelling groin.
The resulting shaky gasp furthered his smile, and he was half-tempted to grind something terrible. But he held onto his composure, held onto his resolve, instead relying on words to chip away at any semblance of control. They were their art form after all, their weapon; surely they’d be just as effective at beckoning Miles into the bliss he craved.
“Yet you called me here anyway,” Phoenix whispered, easing his mouth close to Miles’ ear, “Were you just that desperate, Miles? Longing and aching?”
The effect was immediate; the room electrified and Miles stiffened immensely against him before beginning to quiver.
“W-Wright...”
The reaction caused mismatched eyes to flash, a darker sheen blanketing over the amusement. The longing and aching were quite mutual after all, Phoenix quickly venturing to the same plane. Brazenly, he flicked his tongue up the helix of Miles’ ear, before traversing into even dirtier territory.
“Yeah? Or was it because you knew I can’t exactly pass up on such an opportunity?” He barely gave Miles an opportunity to shudder or whine before he added with beam, “Almost makes me want to subvert expectations. Maybe I need to make myself less available.”
He was pleased to see Miles jerk his head, glaring at him over his shoulder.
“You wouldn’t dare...” he hissed, though his vocals were less solid than before.
“Maybe not,” Phoenix said, moving back to bite and kiss at the offered ear, “Think I’d rather pleasure you until you can’t think straight.”
Miles was definitely unraveling; his backside pressed harder against Phoenix’s tenting crotch. It was a beautiful thing, an unexpected delight. He never pictured that he’d have a Chief Prosector falling apart in his hands, rasping and begging and wanting. He felt inclined to play just a bit more, to savor the moment.
“Wright...”
“Ahh right, eloquence,” Phoenix chuckled, moving his kisses to any part of that gorgeous neck that wasn’t hidden by Miles’ cravat, “Think I’d rather dampen the- what’d you call it? Infernal psychological processes?”
“Physiological processes, darling,” Miles rasped, “Regardless, eloquence doesn’t really carry...the same effect...”
“Yeah?”
Phoenix could barely contain his smile, his excitement, licking a tantalizing trail against sweet ivory skin.
“So naughty, Miles. Yanking me here just to mess around, just to have dirty things whispered in your ear...”
“I’m...I’m certainly not proud of such crassness...”
“No? Well, that’s a shame, because-“
Phoenix finally gave a grind of his hips, drawing sharp gasps from the both of them.
“-it’s driving me absolutely wild too.”
“Phoenix...”
Phoenix managed to contain himself a bit then. He managed to keep a hold on his own hungering pelvis. Instead, he opted to hammer in the last bits of reassurance, whispered between heated kisses to neck and jaw.
“Really, Miles. Don’t worry. Just enjoy yourself, love. I’ve got you. I’m glad you rang, because I want to make you feel so, so good. I always do.”
Miles tensed, as if poised to argue further. But then with a groaning sigh, a heaving breath, he beautifully relented, his head lulling backwards against Phoenix’s shoulder.
“I love you. How is it that you put up with my nonsense?”
Phoenix grinned, a mix of triumph and bashfulness. He thirsted over newly exposed skin for a few beats, before returning such sentiments.
“I love you too. And hey, I can’t exactly complain about getting to bang the Chief Prosecutor. Kinda the opposite- I want to boast it.”
To his furthered relief and amusement, Miles lightly snorted.
“Tsk...”
But despite the lightheartedness, despite the mirth, Phoenix knew there was a duty to be fulfilled. So he plunged back into lecherousness, whispering against Miles’ ear once more.
“So I can’t wait to make you scream, and let everyone know.”
He snickered as the rested head jerked back up, Miles looking over his shoulder with wide eyes.
“Phoenix Wright,” he gasped, “Were you always this lewd?”
“Mm, maybe; it kinda can’t be helped around you. But hey, you like it.”
Before any objection could be raised, before they fell victim to further arguing, Phoenix hushed it all with just a few calculated movements: he spun Miles around, removed his glasses, and swallowed any poised words with his own mouth. He coaxed the arguments into honeyed nothingness, eased the apprehension into eagerness, and melted the tension into heat. His tongue jabbed, and his hands wandered, wrestling out every sweet little noise he possibly could. But upon plunging downward, upon feeling the extremely taut bulge that was Miles’ front, Phoenix couldn’t help but break away and stare.
“Wow, holy shit- you really like it.”
Once again, he didn’t allow time for a response; he reached to trace the delicious outline with a hand, before giving the entire area a sharp squeeze. Miles of course, immediately acted accordingly. Being so pent up, so deprived, so hungry, his entire body practically rolled from the sensation, coupled with a strangled noise of approval.
“N-nngh...”
And that was the utmost green light. That was all Phoenix needed to leap into action. His eyes flashed with a darker sheen, a hotter spark, and he slipped his hands around Miles’ hips.
“Alright. Enough making you wait- let’s take care of you, sweetheart, hmm?”
“You’re far too good to me...” Miles panted.
“Because I adore you,” Phoenix said simply, before tugging him close, “Now c’mere...”
They locked into a passionate kiss then, one that quickly grew heated, desperate. Mouths wandered like they were each other’s quenching thirst in the desert, the first meal after starvation. Groans, whimpers, and shaky breaths sounded in a libidinous melody, cutting through the silence of thickened office air. And although Phoenix’s mind quickly began to grow woozy with lust, he still acted with his beloved in mind. Not breaking their connection, he softly ushered Miles back around his large wooden desk, guiding him back to his leather chair. And when the constrained hips began to grind, began to search for that fiery friction, Phoenix proceeded further.
He broke their kiss for the purpose of latching his mouth to area just beneath Miles’ jaw, sucking and staking his claim. As he did so, his hands wandered downward once more, fishing for the belt and fly that constricted his love so.
“Wr-Wright...” Miles whimpered, the cracking tonality pure music to Phoenix’s ears. Still, with a heated kiss followed by bite, did he voice his motives.
“You’ve no idea how much I want to get beneath this,” he breathily chuckled, briefly tugging on the damn cravat with his teeth, “But that’s not exactly the most pressing matter, now is it?”
His fingers were deft then, working at the devilish constraints and unzipping the burgundy slacks. Another teasing squeeze was offered to the ever-growing bulge, but when the touch earned a yelp, Phoenix denied no longer. He plunged a hand into soft fabric, grasped his lecherous prize, and finally pulled it free. He removed himself from Miles’ neck just in time to witness him groan with relief, his head lulling and his chest heaving. But unsurprisingly, were heterochromatic eyes drawn downward, marveling in the sight that awaited.
“God...You’re so stunning, Miles.”
And he was; he was utterly engorged and ready. The utmost desire was palpable, what with the tip weeping something terrible. Various twitches and jerks also complimented the display, Miles’ body practically screaming at Phoenix to proceed.
Proceed he did; he nudged Miles backwards and downwards, guiding him to sit. He wasted no time in kneeling betwixt shivering legs, spreading them further and allowing for more space. A second of admiration had to be given, before he finally nestled close, ghosting his breath across Miles’ center. Such an action earned a needy whimper, Miles reaching with a shaky hand towards Phoenix’s head.
“M-May I?” he rasped, just barely touching ebony strands.
“Do whatever you need,” Phoenix said, licking his lips and readying himself. Normally, he would be inclined to tease and taste. Normally, he would give kisses and licks before he consumed. Normally, he would take the time to marvel in Miles’ beauty. But with how heated the situation was, with how noticeable the tremors were, he skipped right over the normal proceedings. All he offered was a kiss to the dripping head, before steadying the shaft with a hand.
“I’ve got you, baby. I’ve got you.”
“T-thank you...”
The gasped words of appreciation died with the following actions. Phoenix guided Miles fully into his mouth, taking as much as he could possibly manage. As he slid downwards, eyes trained upwards, attempting to watch the reaction such relief earned. It was well worth it; Miles practically rolled like a wave, his head craning back, his free hand gripping one of the rests, and his mouth falling agape.
“O-oh fuck...Phoenix, thank you...”
The expletive rolling off such an esteemed tongue made brown and blue flash, kindling a new spark of determination within. Phoenix eased back, slipped a limp leg over his shoulder, and took Miles deeply again. He hollowed out his cheeks then, watching as the suction took its effect.
“A-ah!” Miles gasped, bringing a hand to his mouth and biting upon his fingers. He likely wouldn’t last long. Beginning actions were almost drawing forth cries already. So Phoenix slipped back once more, before finally starting his rhythmic bobs.
The office turned into a medley of strained pleasure then. Slurps, hums, and moans sounded from Phoenix, complimented by expletives, whimpers, and hissed praises from Miles. The hand against Phoenix’s head didn’t demand more- rather, it tugged against black hairs, communicating the mounting ecstasy. Still, even without guidance, did Phoenix go deeper still, proceeding until he lightly gagged. But despite the discomfort, despite the tears welling in his eyes, he was undeterred.
For he was driving Miles insane and he knew it. The divine baritone he was so accustomed to had rocketed upwards in pitch. The legs that were normally so sturdy and strong had become something of gelatin. The control which Miles normally wielded so well had all but dissipated, sharp noises and hissed vocals increasing in volume and frequency.
“Oh, Phoenix...F-fuck...L-love you...Just like that...”
It was fuel for Phoenix, stoking the inner flames. He grasped his perch a bit tighter, and sped up his movements, groaning and slurping all the while. Fluid was dribbling down his chin, and the occasional tear dripped down his cheeks, but still, he continued. It didn’t matter that his own slacks were painfully tenting. It didn’t matter that his knees ached. It didn’t matter that his jaw was starting to tire. It was all for Miles. And he intended to absolutely see it through to the end.
An end which did indeed seem fast approaching; the hand which had gripped Phoenix’s hair shakily traveled downward, feebly grasping at the working jaw.
“P-please...I’m- Phoenix, I’m a-about to...”
It was a crackling warning that went unheeded. It was a vague instruction that went ignored. Instead of backing away, Phoenix slid deep once again, switching between sucks and swirls of his tongue. He even went so far as to reach with a hand, moving to fondle whatever he could. And that was it. The stimulation reached its utmost peak. Miles’ pelvis tensed immensely, before giving a mighty quake.
“G-God I’m- ah!”
The sharp cry matched the intensity of the first spurt within Phoenix’s mouth. The force made him startle slightly, but he quickly relaxed, eagerly drinking in the release. He hummed a single note as he captured the bursts, taking everything completely in. But to the beautiful torture of Miles, he did not cease with his suction; between swallows, he continued to work his lecherous efforts, efforts which quickly took effect.
“Ah- Ph-Phoen- Ah!”
He pushed through the growing sensitivity, pushed through the crests, fully intent on overwhelming Miles with the deserved pleasure. Cries ventured more towards yells, shivers more towards jerks, those handsome vocals choking off in the utmost ecstasy.
“Phoenix!”
Mismatched eyes ventured to take in the scene. Miles was arched against the chair, gripping the leather like he was holding on for dear life. Moisture dripped down his ivory skin, likely a mixture of tears and perspiration. And when he quickly clapped a hand over his mouth and released a muffled noise that surely would have been a scream, most would normally cease their efforts. But Phoenix remained. Phoenix continued. He stayed until the pulses slowed, the bursts stopped, and the cries blubbered. Only then, did he release Miles from his mouth with a smack, sitting back on his legs to admire his work.
It was like Miles had been reduced to a burgundy puddle, utterly limp against the chair. He quivered and heaved, his pants shaking as he fought for breath. An occasional whimper slipped through his lips, an aftershock or two likely traversing through his system. But he appeared satisfied, appeared entirely sated.
Phoenix ran his tongue across soiled lips, before wiping at his mouth further with the back of his hand. He massaged his jaw for a beat or two, before smirking at the handsome mess before him. Though his knees groaned, he slowly stood up and straddled Miles’ lap. And, being mindful of his positioning, he eased himself to sit, before nuzzling close.
He couldn’t help himself then; he felt inclined to finally rid Miles of the dreaded fabric barrier. He softly tugged at the various loops, and struggled a bit, as per usual. But soon enough, did he finally unwind the cravat, tugging it free and revealing his favorite expanse of skin. Phoenix sighed a bit at the sight, before grinning and easing close. Seeing as Miles was still recovering, he didn’t leap for fervent, desperate kisses; instead, he opted for gentle, for reverent, easing his mouth over dewy skin.
To his delight, Miles softly moaned, his quivering hands easing around Phoenix’s back to hold him close. The soft kisses continued, coupled with a few sucks here and there. Phoenix carried on, even with his crotch atrociously swollen, and with rasped words from his beloved breaking the silence.
“Oh, darling...My dear love...”
Phoenix’s beam grew at the endearment, a delightful blush easing across his cheeks. Through his smile, through his affections, he of course returned the praise.
“Hmm...You did so well, sweetheart...”
Miles’ hands gripped Phoenix’s back a bit tighter, holding him close in a messy embrace.
“I love you...” he said through his slowing breaths, “You’re astounding...”
“I love you too,” Phoenix replied, offering one more kiss before leaning back. He watched as Miles craned his head back against the chair, continuing to wheeze and come down from his high. While the sight was satisfying to see, it caused a rather devious smirk to form.
“But don’t get too tired on me now.”
Wrinkled burgundy tensed beneath him, almost as if Miles was holding his breath. His grin intensifying, Phoenix leaned close once more, offering another kiss to that desirable neck before adding, “I’m not finished with you yet.”
Miles’ head was quick to snap back up, stunned eyes locking with smug.
“P-pardon?!”
“I said I wanted to make you feel good, remember?”
“Y-yes but...Phoenix, you already have. You’ve done everything and more.”
“And you were the one who gave the horny summons in the first place.”
“I-inconsequential!” Miles hissed with a furious blush to match, a sight that tugged a laugh from Phoenix. “If anything, it’s high time I return the favor. Your slacks are absolutely bursting at the seams.”
“Heh; the Chief Prosecutor has a perverted eye.”
“Phoenix.”
The biting tone hushed any further cheeky comments. When Phoenix quieted, Miles softened, sighing and reaching with a hand.
“Let me see you,” he said, cupping Phoenix’s face, “And give you what you desire.”
“You will. And I desire more of you.” Phoenix shied away from the touch, leaning close to Miles’ ear once again. He offered the sensitive area a kiss, before smirking and purring more libidinous motives. “I want to be inside you...”
To his delight, he could feel the shakiness that quaked at such a phrase. It seemed like Miles had stuttered on his breath, the intense words likely plunging betwixt his legs. Strangely though, such whispers didn’t beckon like they had earlier; Miles appeared to fight for composure rather than submit.
“You’re far too pent up. You’re seconds away from finishing in your suit.”
Phoenix smirked, leaning back and shaking his head.
“I’ll be fine.”
“Wright.”
“I will. I just want- ah!”
The unexpected squeeze to Phoenix’s taut bulge sliced his words with a yelp. It was something of a lightning strike, his crotch electrifying from the touch it so desperately craved. Really, he could barely deny it anymore. He knew he was painfully wanting. Everything between his legs was straining, throbbing. And much to his chagrin, Miles was also aware.
“I know you’re suffering, dear.”
“Miles-“
Once more were arguments cut by further touches, further whimpers of need. It felt good, so incredibly good, Phoenix’s hips bucking towards the sensation on their own accord. But still, in the back of his mind, did stubbornness persist. For he wanted nothing more than to pleasure Miles, to focus on sending him absolutely skyward. It was why he had been called to the office in the first place; his own wants were insignificant in comparison.
But oh, how his body fought to overpower his mind. Oh, how it screamed for him to give in. Even still...
“Shh...” Miles soothed, poising his hand over the swell.
“I’m not...This isn’t how I wanted-“
“Perhaps I’m not done with you either.”
It was astounding how well Miles knew him. It was astounding how in tune Miles was with his thoughts. And it was astounding that Miles wanted...more. Naturally, such notions were indeed enough to shut Phoenix up, all points dying in the back of his throat. He fished for silver eyes with widened bicolored, beginning to shiver atop his burgundy perch. Miles gave him a knowing look then, raising a single brow before murmuring further.
“So in the mean time, hush, and let me help you.”
Reflexively, Phoenix opened his mouth to stubbornly resist, but no words rolled off his tongue. He was locked into the silver spell, insistent eyes ushering him away from arguing. Biting his lip, he gave a feeble nod, and that alone encouraged the progression. Miles hummed a sigh, and softly nudged Phoenix’s chest, gesturing for him to stand. He quickly did as he was told, what with the tightness beneath his slacks indeed growing uncomfortable. He watched as Miles momentarily tucked himself out of the way, before rising to join him. He was half-tempted to hold the back of his neck, unsure of where things were going to go. But when Miles spun him around and pulled their forms flush, it became abundantly clear.
He couldn’t help but whimper then, the mere implications of what was to come causing his hips to shift. The movements only intensified when Miles nestled closer, his chin hooking on Phoenix’s shoulder and his hands snaking around his begging form.
“Look at you...” he whispered, pivoting to press a kiss to the side of Phoenix’s jaw, “You thought you were going to last? Truly? You’re writhing, love...”
It really was something- how quickly he fell apart, how quickly he lost his foothold. But it couldn’t be helped; he had always been impervious to Miles’ intoxicating touch. It was a wonder he thought he’d last indeed. Still...
“I...I was going to try...F-for you...”
“So stubborn.”
Normally, there would be teasing and palming abound. Normally, Miles would be meticulous with his touches and strokes. But presently, he seemed to follow the exact route of desperation, skipping directly to the point. For he reached for blue slacks, hastily unzipped them, and tugged Phoenix free. He wasted no time at all, grasping the pulsing length with a hand and immediately creating shockwaves.
“Ohh fuck...” Phoenix gasped, his tone already hiking upwards.
Though his mind was instantly woozy, though his body was focused on sensations below, he could still feel the warmth from Miles’ smile. It glimmered upon his shoulder, coupled with a contented sigh as monochromatic eyes likely looked him over.
“Hmm...Exquisite as usual.”
He released his grasp, leaving Phoenix in a shivering limbo. But then came a sound that drew forth a whimper: Miles licking and moistening his hand. And moments after, it was a wonder Phoenix’s legs didn’t immediately give out. It was a wonder he didn’t yell into the heated silence of the office. Because yes, Miles knew him well; he knew exactly the right pressure, exactly the right stroke. He gave several tugging passes, before fixating on the head, thumbing the slit in circular motions.
White flashed before Phoenix’s eyes, a garbled mess of moans and gasps escaping him. His pelvis thrust towards the skillful hand, chasing after the intense pleasure. It was incredible, or pathetic- he couldn’t quite tell which. Because he was already feeling that clenching fire, that telling tension within his abdomen. Thus, did he heave and lean against Miles, straining to hold on.
“I can’t...I c-can’t...Miles, I...”
Miles huffed with amusement, squeezing the tip betwixt his fingers before shifting back towards strokes. Phoenix had to stifle a cry, clamping down on his noises as flames surged higher and higher.
“Fuck...Fuck! I’m...!”
“Let go, my darling...”
And just like that, he was done for. In just a few passes, he was finished. He stiffened immensely, before arching against Miles, crying out as he finally released the pent up tension. He roughy came in numerous bursts, likely soiling Miles’ hand and the floor before them. But said hand didn’t shy away, continuing to stroke to utter completion.
Phoenix moaned pitifully as he stepped down from immense heights, slumping back against the sturdier form behind him. He could feel the heat from Miles’ smile once more, lips ghosting against his neck as he hummed his triumph.
“There we are...” He eased a series of kisses to Phoenix’s skin before adding, “Utterly breathtaking...”
Phoenix turned his head to meet the advances, easing their mouths together despite his quickened breaths. He kissed Miles deeply, passionately, sighing as the last bits of elation departed his system.
But as he came up for breath, he became...acutely aware of just how fast things had gone. His gaze drifted downward to the mess on Miles’ hand, before shifting to the matching white streaks on the floor. Though Miles was masterful, it had hardly taken any effort. No, he wouldn’t have been able to last in a deeper connection at all.
The thought flooded his face with crimson, sheepishness overtaking his features. He shifted about on his feet, before awkwardly clearing his throat.
“Erm...”
Miles could easily sneer at him. There were boundless quips he could launch for such an occurrence. Banter seemed to be threateningly hanging above both of them. But instead, Phoenix only picked up on gentle huffs of mirth, the warmth of Miles’ expression still evident.
“Still going to bluff, my love?”
“Ah, no...” Phoenix pulled himself away then, mindful of the mess as he turned to face Miles. A hand crept up to hold his neck, along with more sheepishness to match. “You...You were right.”
He watched as Miles rolled his eyes and shook his head, though the gentleness remained.
“How ludicrous.”
It was then he surprised Phoenix, drawing his soiled hand to his mouth. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, he licked and sucked at the incriminating evidence, cleaning without complaint. He hummed as he did so, whereas Phoenix couldn’t help but rasp an expletive at the sight.
“Now who’s lewd?” he managed with a strained snicker.
“Hmm...Is it such a crime to marvel in you?”
“I guess not, but...damn, Miles.”
Silver stare flashed as he swallowed the last drops down, the action topped off with a contented sigh. Miles walked towards his shelves then, retrieving a few tissues. He offered Phoenix a handful, before bending down to address the remaining mess- the streaks which had narrowly missed their shoes.
“I’m just pleased I was able to return such a release,” he murmured as he cleaned, “You didn’t need to be hurting on my behalf, dear. Especially when you went through the trouble of coming here.”
“For you. You shouldn’t have even had to worry about my-
“-Hush,” Miles interjected, “Who’s to say I didn’t enjoy it?”
Further banter built on Phoenix’s tongue, but ultimately didn’t manifest. Instead, he opted to tuck himself back in before bending down and offering an additional hand. As he cleaned though, he couldn’t help but wonder...was Miles truly satisfied then? Did his own release mark the end? Would he be satiated until they saw each other again in the evening? Was it enough? Phoenix had been the one to allude to further steps, to delving deeper into pleasure. But the current actions smelt of finality.
That was, until a previous quip entered Phoenix’s brain, something said in passing but dripping with significance. He decided to inquire.
“Baby?”
“Hmm?”
“Did...did you say you weren’t finished with me?”
Miles stilled, a swath of crimson rolling across his cheeks. He kept his head down, hiding behind grey curtains once more.
“I suppose I did, yes.”
“You actually want to go further?”
“Don’t you?” Miles murmured, standing up to throw the tissues away.
“Ah, yeah, of course I do. I always do,” Phoenix said, mirroring Miles’ actions. When he had disposed of things, he opted to stand with a hand grasping his neck. “But you’re not bothered? My beloved workaholic wouldn’t worry?”
“Well, there’s always something to be done,” Miles said, venturing back towards Phoenix to loosely snake his hands around the small of his back. “But all the same, I can’t exactly pass you up.”
“You don’t have meetings or anything though?”
“I can guarantee you I don’t.”
“But that’s- wait.” Phoenix shifted in Miles’ embrace, starting like he did in court when a realization struck. “Don’t tell me you carved out space in your itinerary.”
He watched as Miles opened his mouth, only to be silenced by a new wave of warm blush. As the words died, he avoided eye contact. That alone was an answer, an easy deduction, effectively drawing a breathy laugh from Phoenix.
“Oh my God, you did. Miles, you literally made a dick appointment.”
Such a statement drew the monochromatic gaze back, but in the form of a glare. The angry crimson did nothing to help the rivaling laughs, effectively leading to Miles breaking away.
“Phoenix Wright, your crude terminology has me inclined to cancel.”
“Sorry!” Phoenix snickered, reaching to lace his hands around Miles’ neck and restart their embrace, “I’m just...so blown away. I never thought you’d want something like this.”
Miles heaved a sigh, averting his eyes once again as the blush turned gentler.
“Yes, well...wanting you to such a degree changes a lot.”
It was Phoenix’s turn to blush then. He couldn’t help but grin through the warmth, easing close enough for their noses to brush.
“I love you so much,” he murmured, nuzzling until he drew forth a ghost of a smile.
“I love you too.”
It was only natural that the pair kissed, slower and more purposeful than their previous advances. Even with deeper intimacy on the horizon, even with lecherousness hanging over their heads, their lips only glided and caressed.
“What about you?” Miles softly asked when they broke apart, “Nothing going on at the agency?”
“Nah. I’m sure the kids will keep everything in working order.”
“Mm...”
Phoenix’s brows furrowed slightly when Miles looked away, scanning his sharp features for discomfort. He couldn’t quite decipher, so he reached up with a hand, framing Miles’ jaw and stroking with his thumb.
“Hey, we really don’t have to continue if you don’t want to though. Don’t pressure yourself. If there’s any doubt, we can wait until we’re home.”
“No, that’s...” Miles sighed, the color in his cheeks intensifying further. “...I do. This morning, I couldn’t stop envisioning...”
Even though he trailed off, the underlying meaning was apparent. Brown and blue eyes flashed, coupled with the room twinging with a new burst of heat.
“So all of this wasn’t enough, hmm?”
“It was extraordinary, but...”
Phoenix smirked, easing close again. The vice of desire tightened around them, beckoning his lips to that stunning neck once more. He hummed and kissed a trail, already feeling sparks venturing downward.
“...But you want me inside you too,” he whispered against sweet skin, sealing the statement with a nip.
The salacious words and actions prompted another shiver. Phoenix’s grin only intensified, coupled with the frequency of his bites.
“It’s incredibly crass, I know,” Miles eventually said, his voice strained as he shifted beneath the touches.
“It’s amazing is what it is. And perfect because...I want you too. God, I want you so bad.”
Phoenix latched his mouth onto sweet skin something proper then, biting and sucking. He was intent on making a mark, both literally and figuratively, driving his point completely in. Said motives were made worse by a moan gracing his ears, the noise hammering in his claim.
“Phoenix...”
The subsequent grin broke the heated connection. He leaned back to admire, humming at the reddish blotch that seemed to saturate in real time. But though they stood together in the flames, though he could still taste Miles upon his tongue, though their bodies had started to sing once more, he couldn’t help but inquire one last time.
“You’re sure?”
Heated eyes softened, Miles reaching to cup Phoenix’s face.
“I’m sure,” he murmured, before sighing and looking away, “Lest you depart and my thoughts...drift once again.”
“Maybe those infernal physiological processes aren’t so bad after all...” Phoenix snickered, his hands drifting to mirror the frame.
“Mm...”
The pair smiled, before easing to close the space between them. Lips initially brushed in a tender kiss, but quickly intensified to something far more molten. Starving mouths gaped, and thirsting hands wandered. As Phoenix plunged downward towards a particular prize however, as hands grasped burgundy curves, concentration was severed once more.
“Ahh, shit,” Phoenix hissed.
“What is it?”
“You don’t...happen to have any supplies, do you?”
“Bottom drawer...towards the back.”
The instruction sent Phoenix off without hesitation initially. He broke away towards the specified destination, bending down to fish for the desired bottle. Upon grasping it though, a lightbulb suddenly popped forth; he couldn’t help but smirk as he processed the location, the readiness.
“D-don’t you say a word, Wright. Just grab it.”
It was like Miles had peered into his cheeky thoughts. That, or he had spied the budding mischievousness on his face. Either way, it made Phoenix snicker once more, standing up and biting back wry comments.
“And wipe that grin off your face,” Miles huffed.
“Do it for me.”
Silver eyes narrowed, but Miles complied, surging forward to lock them in a hungry kiss. Hands from both parties began to wander, groping and attempting to make purchase. Miles’ fingers curled through ebony locks, whereas Phoenix’s hands framed his favorite jawline. The pair moaned through the rougher advances, heat surging and dancing betwixt them.
It certainly wasn’t a bad way to allow their bodies to catch back up.
The swirling warmth prompted Phoenix further. His hands drifted downwards, grasping Miles’ collar and giving a beckoning tug. Miles understood at once, breaking the kiss and panting against rival lips. Phoenix took advantage of the pause, moving to remove his own jacket. He was simply going to shrug it off, to opt for a quick discard, but a pair of hands interjected. He looked on with mild confusion as Miles guided the fabric off, dutifully holding instead of dropping. It was when he meticulously hung it off the back of his chair that things clicked for Phoenix.
“Priorities,” he laughed.
“You’ll thank me later when your jacket isn’t a crumpled mess,” Miles said, repeating the actions with his own, “We’re going to be conspicuous enough already.”
Phoenix snorted, but the amusement did little to slow him. The moment Miles pivoted back to face him, he pounced, locking them back in a kiss as fingers worked at golden buttons. The action drew forth a whimper, but Miles seemed undeterred as well. He too, reached through the passion for Phoenix’s waistcoat, unbuttoning whenever he could manage. The pair worked through the layers of fabric, brushing the coats aside and finally reaching the undershirts. Phoenix could almost curse at their fashion choices, acting as a barrier of sorts against their fire. Instead though, his mind grew giddily woozy, what with the prospect of more beautifully exposed skin on the horizon. He hurried then, desperately working at buttons to remove the last block.
When he finally got it open, when he finally parted the fabric for his ardent eyes, he couldn’t help but break away to stare. Hands reached to follow his gaze, caressing the awaiting chest. The pair shivered at the exchange, but Phoenix was inclined to go further. Wandering fingers drifted to Miles’ dusky nipple, encircling the area before pinching lightly. The resulting gasp drew forth a smirk and magnetized lips to skin.
Phoenix kissed a trail across taut pectorals, humming at the sparks buzzing betwixt their bodies. Just as before, the gorgeousness bewitched him, leading him to lick and bite a plenty. He encircled Miles’ nipple with his tongue, long enough for trembling fingers to thread his hair. If they decided to tug, he would appropriately respond, nipping until a whimper was earned.
Eventually though, his own body grew impatient, beckoning him to press forward. He leaned back to eye his work, grinning at the beauty and marks alike.
“God, I love you. You and your body both.”
“I love you too. Though, did I not say I wished to see you as well?”
“You did, but...I’m not quite finished.”
Motions from earlier were repeated, Phoenix reaching to undo belt and slacks alike. Unlike before though, it was with the intention to completely remove; fingers grasped all matters of fabric, tugging until everything was pulled downward. Burgundy and boxers pooled at Miles’ feet, and Phoenix stooped to follow. He took a moment to remove Miles’ dress shoes and socks, before the other constraints were guided off and away.
Upon easing back to his knees, Phoenix found himself at eye level with the most desirable part of all. It was engorging once more, and already beading with pre-cum. As a result, he couldn’t help himself; he reached to give a tugging stroke or two, before he eased to kiss the awaiting moisture away. Miles’ groan almost coaxed him to pleasure further, but he ceased- though not without licking up the entirety of the beautiful length.
He kissed his way back upwards, murmurs of praise coiling on his tongue. The moment he was standing though, said murmurs were immediately hushed, Miles’ demanding mouth finding his. The two fell victim to yet another heated kiss, moans reverberating through the space. Before Phoenix could caress further, Miles raced for his turn. He deftly unbuttoned Phoenix’s undershirt, and caressed bare skin the instant it was offered. Phoenix couldn’t help but release a whimper for Miles to swallow, the touch trailing sparks across his own chest.
He expected actions to parallel, to mirror. But it seemed desperation was at the forefront; he smiled as Miles jumped right to his blue slacks, hurrying to free him once more.
“So ready for me...” Phoenix purred into swollen lips.
“Have been since the moment you embedded yourself into my thoughts...”
Such words flared nostrils, stuttered breaths, and stoked new fires of determination. He sighed as Miles removed him from fabric constraints once more, but when Miles pulled back and hesitated- perhaps to admire, Phoenix jumped at the opportunity. Clothing didn’t need to come fully off after all. Entire exposure wasn’t necessary. They had everything they needed, with a few conspicuous shields to match.
So he grabbed ivory hips, pivoting Miles around and ignoring the sharp gasp. A beckoning nudge was given, gesturing for Miles to bend over the desk before them. To his utmost delight, Miles did so without delay or argument, reclining and beautifully displaying. Though a new desperation was indeed gnawing within, Phoenix couldn’t help but appreciate the sight.
“I’ll never be able to get over how gorgeous you are.”
“Hmm...” Miles hummed, propping himself up on his elbows, “Coming from the most magnificent man...”
“Says the one who’s insanely irresistible.”
“Objection- ah!”
Arguments were severed by touches; Phoenix’s fingers squeezed the offered cheeks, before easing to simply caress.
“Sorry, what was that?”
“You’re playing dirty, Wright,” Miles said, huffing and shifting against the contact.
“Well yeah, I would hope so. I’ll keep this method in mind for the next time you’re getting too sassy in court.”
“Yes, because they surely wouldn’t hold you in contempt whatsoever- ungh!”
Again were vocals stolen by a squeeze. Phoenix grinned, going so far as to offer a light whap before chuckling over the following gasp.
“Worth it.”
He kneaded the doughy flesh with his fingers, marveling at the sounds such an action earned. Every moan and whimper resonated directly between his legs, slowly coaxing his erection back to totality. He wasn’t quite sure how Miles wanted to proceed, how Miles wanted to be taken, but oh, how tempted he was to simply pound him then and there.
His beloved beginning to whine coaxed Phoenix towards the next steps. He reached for the bottle of neglected lube, popping it open and smirking at how Miles hummed at the sound. Generously, he coated his fingers, before transferring some to his still-swelling length. He stroked and readied with trembling sighs, before reaching for the desired entrance.
The second Phoenix brushed upon puckered skin, their breaths caught, tangling in the new tension gripping the room. Around he rubbed in tantalizing circles, ghosting upon the area in preparation. With how Miles squirmed, Phoenix expected to be implored, to be begged. Instead, he was stunned to watch as Miles reached back with a hand, prying and spreading himself open. It was a miracle Phoenix didn’t leap to sheath himself then and there.
He instead shakily inhaled, and poised a single finger to proceed. Consent had already been given. Approval had already been spoken. But even still, did Phoenix double check, holding steadily in place.
“Ready?”
He smirked when it seemed like Miles’ body did the talking, what with his pelvis titling a bit closer. Such an expression warmed all the more when shaky vocals joined the mix.
“Yes. Please.”
Through the muscular resistance he finally pushed then. Phoenix couldn’t help but hum at the tight warmth which awaited, the noise beautifully melding with the opposing moan. He eased in only to his knuckle at first, closely watching Miles for signs of discomfort. But when he only spied breathless pleasure, when he only spied a silent ask for more, did he insert his finger in completely. He allowed Miles a small respite, giving the muscles time to adapt and relax. The moment the tension eased, Phoenix began to move, slowly jutting in and out in a salacious pattern.
Mismatched eyes scanned meticulously, lecherously. He eagerly drank in every sigh, every quivering moan. If Miles seemed to react more to a certain area being stroked, Phoenix would fixate on the spot, jutting until hips quivered beneath his touch. He knew the workings of his partner after all. He knew what he liked, how he ticked. So when that gorgeously stoic body began to tremble, Phoenix went further, slipping a second finger into the mix.
“Phoenix...” Miles sighed, his tone coated with delicious enjoyment, “Yes...”
The praise fueled him, warming both his groin and his expression. He thrust the pair deeply, before taking a few beats to explore the muscular walls. He swirled about rhythmically, before scissoring for that perfect stretch. He couldn’t help but groan at the sensations, at the sounds, at the torridity of it all. He worked for every little bit of pleasure, every sweet vocalization from Miles.
It seemed successful thus far; Miles was writhing against his perch, moaning against the advances. The further Phoenix stretched, the more his reactions intensified. Deeper thrusts seemed to coax his hips backwards, like they subconsciously sought more stimulation.
So Phoenix delivered without hesitation. He slipped a third and final finger in, marveling at how Miles’ back arched in response.
“Fuck...” he gasped, sending a new rush of blood straight to Phoenix’s crotch, “So good...”
Every movement earned a breathy moan then. Every thrust was met with an equal advance. And every jolt of Miles’ pelvis seemed to coax Phoenix’s similarly. He needed more. They both needed more.
Phoenix reached deeply for that sweet inner spot, stroking until Miles began to whimper something terrible. But then, he abruptly pulled out, drawing a sharp gasp into the heated space. It was not without cause; he reached for the lube once more, intent on slicking and readying his erection.
“Ph-Phoenix...”
The mewl made him smirk through his preparation, smiling despite the grunts and sighs from touching himself.
“I won’t keep you waiting, baby. You’ve waited long enough.”
Biting his lip, he nestled himself into the constricted space, teasing his head against the awaiting entrance. The pair vocalized at the sensation, Phoenix groaning and Miles whining. But right before he proceeded, right before he could venture inward, Miles gasped with further conversation.
“Phoenix.”
Before he could even question the sharper tone, Miles released his grip on himself, effectively closing off proper access. In the pause he seemed to be taking to steady himself, to catch his breath, Phoenix couldn’t help but buzz with alarm.
“What is it?”
Miles inhaled deep lungfuls of air, before standing and pivoting to face Phoenix. Mismatched eyes were spellbound, immediately drawn downward to the enticing sight between pale legs. Despite their previous ventures, Phoenix was pleased to see that Miles was plenty hard once more- though, the relief was short lasted. Had he done something wrong?
“Sweeth-“
“-I love you,” Miles blurted, rushed and unexpected, “You’ve done everything and more, as you always do. It’s high time you simply sit back and enjoy.”
Before returned sentiments could even poise on his tongue, Phoenix found himself getting dragged across the room, stumbling as he was tugged by his hand. His aroused mind buzzed with confused static, unable to process the new turn of events. That was, until he spied where Miles was headed, where he was being lead to.
The pair of plush couches. A luxurious seat. A location entirely fitting for a different position.
“Oh...” Phoenix breathed, coming to the realization through his buffers, “That’s...”
“Phoenix.”
“R-right!”
As desperate as he was, as they both were, he rambled no further, nor did he try and argue. He simply assumed the new position, seating himself on the edge of velvety fabric. The moment heterochromatic eyes locked with fiery silver, he gave himself a presenting stroke.
“I’m yours how you want.”
Miles was on him immediately, gripping Phoenix’s shoulders and straddling his toned legs. Phoenix expected him to lower immediately, to aggressively ride the moment they were situated. Instead, to his surprise, did further honeyed words fall from his tongue.
“I do believe I’m the luckiest man in the world...” Miles said, aligning himself just so.
“Objection- believe that title belongs to-“
Argument and breath alike were stolen by Miles nestling close, positioning to proceed. Phoenix could almost laugh at how Miles turned his own tactics against him, what with hushing words with arousing actions. But he found himself too shaken, merely reaching to steady his shaft with a hand. He groaned as Miles gripped his shoulders tighter, and as cheeks enveloped his awaiting length.
There was the slightest bit of resistance, the smallest amount of give. Before suddenly, Miles engulfed him, sliding down and easing them into full penetration. Colors flashed in Phoenix’s vision, the feeling of connecting so deeply with his partner absolutely unprecedented. He couldn’t help but moan his approval, his hands flying for purchase on Miles’ body. It took all of his self control not to immediately lose it, biting his lip as Miles sunk further and further.
It seemed Miles had been holding his breath, for he released a groaning exhalation the moment he completely took Phoenix in. The pair panted and moaned, savoring the closeness and allowing each other to adjust. Phoenix nestled against Miles’ bare front, hissing quiet expletives with equally soft kisses to match.
“God...fuck...you feel so good...”
“You’re perfect, Phoenix...Utterly...perfect...”
“Love you...” Phoenix breathed, brushing beneath hanging fabric to get a good grip on Miles’ hips.
“Love you.”
And with that, did Miles begin to move, surely readied to chase what he had desired all day. Phoenix watched with thirsting eyes as Miles eased up, before slowly plunging downwards once more. The two moaned from the passes, the stretches, before Miles truly began to ride. He took Phoenix deeply, and rocked his pelvis with reckless abandon.
Phoenix looked on in awe, mesmerized as Miles undulated and threw his head back. Phoenix’s breaths were beginning to dance with moans, matching the grunting efforts sounding from his partner. The familiar fire was already starting to burn in his abdomen from such advances, his entire lower half alight with sensations. But he wasn’t about to finish quickly this time- not until he ensured Miles’ utmost satisfaction.
This was for him. This was all for him.
So he tossed care to the side, and began to meet, began to guide. With a tight grip on moving hips, he coaxed Miles towards bounces, so that he could properly mirror thrusts. Phoenix jerked his hips upward every time Miles bore down, deepening the stroke again and again. It seemed to have an immediate effect, Miles’ head lulling back even further.
“Ah!” he gasped, “Fuck...Phoenix, t-that’s-“
A tighter grip on Miles’ hips angled him forward, just that perfect little amount to beautifully graze the treasured spot within. Phoenix relished the obscenely loud moan such a shift earned, groaning himself as it instantly resonated in his groin.
“Fuck, Miles...God.”
He thrust upwards even harder, racing against his own body and Miles’ building speed. The office became a lecherous cacophony then, what with Miles keening, Phoenix grunting, and their connection squelching. It was music to Phoenix’s ears, utterly captivating and everything he wanted. Though, he still aimed to take Miles even higher, to draw forth uncontrolled noises as he unraveled.
“Phoenix, I’m...I’m close...Please, Phoenix, I-“
That was all he needed. Despite the burn in his pelvis, the tension in his stomach, the soreness in his legs, he strained to give Miles that last burst of pleasure. He continued to thrust, but reached with a shaky hand, intent on addressing Miles’ neglected erection. He grasped tightly as they both continued to move, tugging and jerking as best he could.
Any attempt at talking quickly turned into a jumble of moans and shallow gasps of air. But the moment Miles crested, the moment his orgasm tightly grasped his body, one thing still managed to ring loud and true.
“Phoenix!”
The cry echoed throughout the space and resonated deep within Phoenix’s mind. He felt warmth streaking against his hand and abdomen. He tugged until cries shifted more towards whines and dry sobs. And that was it; the flames had breached the last wall of control.
Throwing his hands back to Miles’ hips, he slammed him downward and came hard, bursting deep within. His head careened over the back of the sofa, moaning the beautiful opposing name through every intense peak.
“Miles! Miles!”
He jerked, pulsed, and emptied himself entirely into the cramped space. When Miles collapsed against him in blissful exhaustion, he too, melted in dreamy fatigue. The moment he stepped down from his climax, the moment he floated back down to Earth, he sagged back against the couch, something of ecstatic jelly.
The room was nothing but deep, slowing breaths then. After a few moments, Miles eased upwards and broke their connection with a soft moan, before easing to carefully settle atop bare skin. Phoenix could feel dewiness betwixt them, and could feel moisture leaking against his thigh. But he paid the sensations no mind; all he wished to do was marvel in his partner that much more.
He snaked his hands around Miles’ back, venturing beneath his ruffled clothing and holding him close. He softly caressed slick skin, before easing close to capture their lips in an exhausted kiss. Mouths lazily slid about, no glamour to the exchange as lips messily smushed. But when they were torn apart by panting huffs of air, did Miles finally find the wherewithal to speak once more.
“God...That...That was...”
“...The only way I’m choosing to spend my break from now on,” Phoenix finished with a breathy laugh. The mirth only intensified when Miles’ flushed expression turned incredulous, furrowing despite the streaks of red.
“You’re absolutely ridiculous...” he said, though twinkles of laughter were evident in his tone.
“Maybe. But you love me for it.”
“I suppose I do, yes. I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
Swollen lips connected once more, a bit more tender and composed. They kissed softly, sweetly, pouring all manner of adoration into the connection. Regardless, Miles seemed keen to articulate further once they broke.
“Speaking of ridiculousness, thank you, darling...”
“Hmm? For what?”
“For this! For...” Silver eyes flitted away, like they hadn’t just been caught up in extremely lewd acts. “...Tending to my...atrocious needs so.”
Phoenix couldn’t help but laugh, at the sight and notion alike. He reached up to brush damp grey strands back, before cupping Miles’ face.
“You’re not still caught up on that, are you?”
He snickered as Miles seemed to blush further, practically sinking against his hand.
“I plead the fifth.”
“Miles,” he laughed, angling for a quick peck before continuing. “I adore you, and will tend to you whenever you want. Atrocious needs, physiological processes, or whatever else gets you going- I’ll be there.”
“Phoenix...”
The murmur of disdain was hushed by yet another kiss. Through the sweet connection, and the honeyed lightness in his brain, thoughts gently drifted. Phoenix wanted to stay there forever, cuddled close and deliriously post-coital. He wanted to bathe his beloved in pleasure until neither of them could stand. He wanted to relish in his beautiful body and handsome soul. But with every passing minute, he became acutely aware of where they were, and the subsequent duties they both had. He almost sighed his disappointment against Miles’ mouth, knowing he did indeed have to get back to the agency sooner than later. Thankfully, his brain offered a solution, a solution that pried his mouth away with further snickers.
“Speaking of which, hope you’re ready for a repeat performance tonight.”
He laughed as silver eyes widened- even more so when hands playfully shoved his chest.
“I’m more than satisfied, you goon.”
He beamed, snorting and chuckling a plenty. Another jest manifested on his tongue, one that would surely earn another shove. But if it meant furthering the moment, and chasing after those “damn processes,” he was powerless to stop it.
“Alright alright. Same time tomorrow then?”

26. For the prompt meme. Ship of your choice, have fun ^_^
You give me too much power. Wright family content, babeyyy!! The narumitsu is a background event! 26. “You’re the one thing keeping me sane right now.”
“Daddy, you need to breathe, okay, one-two: inhale!” Trucy commands, raising her hands like a conductor whose orchestra is just one panicking Nick. When he doesn’t do what she said, his brain still rushing miles a minute—fuck Miles, this is going to be a disaster—her hands drop to her hips. “I can only help if you work with me. Again! Inhale!”
Okay. Nick counts to four in his head as the living room air fills his lungs.
“Exhale!” Two…three…four… “Repeat!” Trucy directs, and comparing her to a conductor was more correct than he first realized because she’s even using the baton she weaseled from Sebastian, counting the beats that make up his breathing with polished flair. The two of them continue like that for a few minutes, as Nick’s heart rate slows from a deafening pulse to its usual quiet badum. “Good! Now, how are we feeling?”
“Alive,” Nick says, offering his daughter a cheeky smile.
“Hilarious.” Trucy rolls her eyes. “Okay, now repeat after me: I’m Daddy, and I’m fine!”
“Honey, I’m not doing Apollo’s gimmick.” He’s not that bad…right?
“Uncle Miles has done it; you have no excuses.”
Normally, Nick would muster up a ‘He what,’ but hearing his boyfriend’s name reminded him why he was freaking out in the first place.
“Uh-oh. That might have been too soon.”
Miles Edgeworth, his boyfriend. His newly established boyfriend. His brilliant, stunning, designer suit-wearing, sports car driving, high-class boyfriend. His ‘out-of-reach dream he’s been chasing for his entire life, and somehow they’re together now’ boyfriend. His boyfriend is picking him up in a few minutes for their first actual date, and Nick is unprepared.
Is his hair okay? Is his outfit okay? He’s wearing jeans and a button up he ironed for the occasion, but should he be wearing a suit? Nick has one suit—for court—and isn’t that much for a restaurant date? Unless they’re going to an upper-class joint. Oh god, are they? He didn’t specify beyond wanting Chinese. Do fancy Chinese places exist—who is he kidding? Of course, they do! Miles wouldn’t splurge on a first date, right? He knows the Wrights’ money situation, and he’s not cruel on purpose, but he is tactless, and what if—
“Focus!” Trucy slaps her hands against his cheeks. “Say the line!”
Sigh. “I’m Phoenix Wright, and I’m fine.”
“Like you mean it!”
“I’m Phoenix Wright, and I’m fine!” How does Apollo do this? Without shame? Maybe the humiliation works as a distraction, yet the stupid ritual quelled his anxiety.
“There we go!” Despite being a foot from Nick’s yelling, Trucy smiles at him, bright and cheery. The light of his life in every sense. “You’ve got this! You’ve been on dates with him before, remember?”
“Those weren’t dates, Truce,” Nick says.
“Objection! Uncle Miles flew you abroad to Europe more than once and wined and dined you! I saw the pictures!”
Objection sustained. That happened; they just weren’t together then. Come to think of it, they ate out often before Nick asked him out whether to celebrate trials or after Trucy’s shows. Is this any different? Yes. Inherently. Much higher stakes. All the things that could go wrong, maybe even destroy their rebuilt bond forever. He can't afford to lose that yet again; this has to go off without a hitch.
“You’re overthinking it,” Trucy says. “Ten bucks Uncle Miles is just as antsy as you are.”
Miles? Anxious? That…checks out. Hiding behind stony gazes and clenched fists is socially awkward, to put it generously. This man phrased a resignation letter like a suicide note and runs off to empty rooms to cry when triggered! Although he said ‘I’ll pick you up at six thirty,’ with collected ease over the phone, he was definitely thrumming his fingers against his office desk. Probably took 20 minutes to talk himself into calling Nick back. Hell, he said yes to being asked out like this: 'I would be very much amenable to a relationship,' while fidgeting with his glasses. Normal people do not do that. They don't downplay their vulnerability with verbose language, and they don't fabricate excuses to break eye contact just because even after years of therapy, being unguarded still feels dangerous. Am I stupid? Nick's not alone in this. Whatever happens they'll…figure it out.
“You’re going to win that bet, so no.” Also, since the person he’s talking to is his clever daughter, Nick continues, “I’m not giving you money for Eldoon’s. We have leftovers from last night. Eat those.”
“Aww…” Trucy pouts, sulking with her whole body. An exaggerated gesture she stole from Maya. Then, just as quickly, she bounces back. “But you admit I’m right!”
“You’re always right, sunshine.” Nick presses a kiss on the top of her head. She’s the one thing keeping him sane right now. Grounded. “What would I do without you?”
“Mope on the couch and watch reruns of old daytime soap operas,” Trucy says, without missing a beat, and Nick laughs. That's my girl. His beautiful, witty daughter, the most important person in the world.
Buzz-buzz-buzz—his phone vibrates in his pocket. That’s Miles. “I’m off. I’ll be back late, so don’t stay up waiting for me. And do your homework.”
“Daddy, I’m sixteen, not twelve!”
Ignoring her protests, Nick heads to the exit of their small apartment. “If you call your brother to buy you takeout, I’ll know.”
“Killjoy!” Trucy shouts as the door clicks shut.

thoughts/headcanons (if applicable) about langworth?
Okay. Alright. Listen. We all know narumitsu has my whole heart. But I have SO MANY thoughts about langworth. In particular, unrequited langworth, I have so many feelings about one-sided langworth. I know unrequited stuff isn’t everyone’s thing, but I do have a soft spot for certain one-sided ships in just about every fandom. There’s something about the tragedy of one-sided pining that I love. Not always, but for certain characters. It’s the good kind of angst. But never mind about that, onto the langworth.
So to start with, there is no way Lang isn’t deeply into Miles’s whole deal like. No one is going to call Miles Edgeworth “Pretty Boy” that constantly and not be into him. Come on. Miles is attractive and Lang is clearly so weirdly into him, even when he's being a constant obstacle.
They also just have such great chemistry? Lang is just such a fun rival, because he’s so weirdly antagonistic to Miles at every turn, and even by the end of the game where he goes out of his way to mention that he’s come to trust Miles he’s still cocky and arrogant and brash because he thinks he’s hot shit. (Man I love Lang by the way.)
There’s this one part in particular in AAI where Lang is like, “Hey. Listen. You haven’t changed my opinions on prosecutors or the legal system, but you’re alright.” And I just. Man, Lang’s whole character arc was about learning to trust Miles, how can he not be at least a little in love with him by the end? He doesn't trust anyone but his own men but Miles is maybe one exception even after he's been dealing with all this betrayal in his life! I love that!
And Miles clearly comes to respect Lang by the end of AAI 1 and 2. He knows Lang, knows how to argue with Lang, knows that Lang is just a stubborn asshole with a good heart. He says in AAI2 that Lang is good at what he does. And their arguments are great, because they're both equally stubborn assholes. Again, every single one of their interactions are so much fun, I can absolutely see the appeal.
One headcanon: I’ve always thought of Miles as demisexual/demiromantic. It takes an awful lot of closeness and trust before he would even think consider someone as a potential partner. And of course I think he’d reach that space with Phoenix, but I can very easily see him getting there with Lang too, if the situation worked out. I mean, Lang is a great dude, and one of Miles’s love languages is Heated Debate.
One thing that I do find interesting is that I don’t think Lang would’ve actually liked pre-trilogy Miles very much? A lot of the traits and qualities he associates with the prosecutors he hated were absolutely traits possessed by Miles Edgeworth. As much as Miles was always a good person deep down, he was still arrogant and obsessed with his own status before Phoenix “showed him the light” or what have you. Like a lot of what I think Lang likes about Miles came from Miles’s interactions with Phoenix (though I can’t decide if Lang and Phoenix would get along now that I think about it).
And I’m sorry if unrequited love is not your thing, but just the idea of Lang being very supportive of any Miles relationship, but with a constant undercurrent of “If you hurt this man in any way me and my men will break your kneecaps” just really gets me. He’s a good dude, he’d be jealous of course but he’d work so hard to never let it affect his relationship with Miles. He cares way too much about the happiness of the people he loves to ever put that on them.
Man. I have a lot of feelings about this. Sorry.
Uh a couple of headcanons to finish this post up:
Post AAI2, Lang made sure to put Miles Edgeworth on his list of important birthdays to remember. He also tends to remember most of Miles’s friends’ and family’s birthdays better than Miles does
Lang and Miles do keep in touch. Occasionally Lang will contact Miles about a case, though it is mostly a ploy to see what Miles is up to and/or show off
More often than not, when they do actually run into each other, it’s because Lang is working with Franziska. This annoys Franziska to no end
Lang thinks he’s kept a tight lid on his crush on Miles. Literally everyone knows about it, but he thinks he's subtle
