Even early on in their companionship, Jaskier enjoyed doing Geralt's hair. Geralt hates it at first. He hates the closeness, he hates the touch, he hates the bard's rambling as he does it all, he hates the stupid braided updos the bard gives him that look too fancy for him. But the longer they travel together, the more mornings and evenings of reluctant acceptance of hairstyling to keep his bard entertained... Geralt really grows to love it. Geralt loves the closeness. Geralt loves the touch, he loves his bard's rambling as he does it all, and he loves the pretty braided updos his bard gives him that nobody really sees besides his bard and himself.

how does hair work in amc interview with the vampire actually? i mean, technically it's not supposed to grow at all i guess but yeah it's definitely growing on all of them all the time. my guess is it can get longer but it can't get shorter than it was when you were turned? so there's a minimum of hair you have to have but no maximum(ish).

i like the theory that the hair changing is just another thing with memory to show how we can't separate our perception of someone changing personally from them changing physically (oh lestat's hair was longer than it used to be when you met him at the trial? and was it raining louis?) but that does fuckall to explain armand's hair being longer in dubai when he stops being rashid lmao.

i definitely think there's some significance to hairstyling in the show (as there is significance to everything in the show) but not necessarily just as a product of flawed recollection and unreliable narration. like how louis hair was longer in 1973 when he was acting very differently to how we know him, or lestat's hair being longer in louis hallucinations and also the lestat version of claudia's turning, or for claudia the way she wears her hair in completely different styles in s1 and s2 and just between episodes/major events in her life. there's always an element of something has changed. whether it's the person or our perception of them is unclear but something has changed.

and i mean it kinda makes sense that hair could still grow, because a vampire is essentially a being in a dead body, and hair is just dead skin anyway, so if your body is actually capable of continuing to die which i guess it could be that could include dead skin forming hair i guess. following that logic doesn't explain why you can't cut it shorter though (insane healing properties, doesn't really work on dead cells does it) and i mean that's probably just for the immortal aesthetic anyway but it's kinda hilarious to think that the great architects of our creation thought it was important to immortalize that cunty bob you had when a vampire decided to munch on your neck.
