Dear Gus & Magnus,
We went to the Louisiana Children's Museum this morning. Magnus liked the Jam Room. Gus probably liked wearing the bat costume in the puppet show area the most. We tried to go to lunch at Bearcat Cafe -- one of our favorites -- but the wait was too long so we ate around the corner at High Hat Cafe.
I wasn't feeling so good and took a nap with Magnus, but rallied to walk with everyone down the street to a Cuban cafe for dinner. I went to bed early, but this trip has mostly wrecked your sleeping routines. School is going to hit hard next week.
Dad.
New Orleans, Louisiana. 12.29.2023 - 11.32am.

Exploring the world of a curious child is like opening a book brimming with fascinating small adventures. The idea of incorporating this curiosity into learning processes brings us to play-based learning. A well-renowned day care in Dallas, Texas, observed the positive impacts of integrating play into the preschool curriculum.

Thinking of Switching Gears? Botox Training Might Be Your Career Glow-Up
Let’s be honest: if you’re a nurse, doctor, dentist, or healthcare pro feeling stuck in the same routine, there’s nothing wrong with wanting more.
More creativity. More flexibility. More control over your time. And yes—more income.
Enter Botox training: a skill that’s not just trendy but totally transforming careers for medical professionals everywhere.
💡 So, What Exactly Is Botox Training?
Botox training teaches licensed healthcare professionals how to safely and effectively inject botulinum toxin—AKA Botox—for both cosmetic and therapeutic uses.
Sure, it smooths wrinkles. But Botox also treats things like TMJ, chronic migraines, and excessive sweating. It’s about helping people feel like their best selves, inside and out.
And for you? It’s about learning a skill that blends science, artistry, and personal connection—with serious growth potential.
👩⚕️ Who Can Take It?
If you’re licensed in healthcare, you’re likely eligible. This includes:
RNs
NPs
MDs/DOs
Dentists
PAs
Whether you want to start a side hustle, open your own space, or just freshen up your career path, Botox training fits.
🧠 What You’ll Learn
Facial anatomy + muscle structure
Injection technique: angles, depth, and safety
Product knowledge across different brands
How to assess clients and design a treatment plan
Managing complications and minimizing risks
Creating natural-looking, balanced results that clients love
Most courses combine self-paced online learning with hands-on practice on real models.
📚 The Vibe of the Training
Courses are often split into two parts:
Online theory modules – study the science and safety on your own time
In-person training – practice injections under expert supervision
Certification – you’ll leave with credentials and confidence
Optional mentorship – perfect if you want ongoing support starting out
✔️ Pros & ✖️ Cons
Pros:
High demand + growing industry
Flexible hours + great income potential
Creative, people-focused work
Can work independently or in clinics/med spas
See your impact instantly—hello confidence boost!
Cons: − Must hold a valid medical license − You need to invest in training + supplies if going solo − Mastery takes practice—it’s not a “one-and-done” skill
🌍 The Industry Is Booming
The Botox market is growing fast—and not just for cosmetics. More people are using Botox to treat medical conditions. Clients are younger, more diverse, and more educated about their options than ever before.
This means trained injectors are in demand. And with the right foundation, you could step into that role quickly and confidently.
🎓 Where to Train? Let’s Talk Kane Institute
If you're in or around Calgary, Kane Institute is one of the top choices for Botox training. Known for its hands-on, safety-first approach, Kane provides:
Small class sizes
In-person model-based training
Flexible online learning
Expert mentorship
A clear path to getting started—whether you join a clinic or open your own
They don’t just teach you where to inject—they help you understand why, so you walk away with more than just a certificate. You leave ready to build something meaningful.
🌟 Final Thought
You became a healthcare professional because you care. You’re skilled, focused, and passionate. But if your current job isn’t lighting you up anymore, you deserve to explore what’s next.
Botox training might be your next chapter. More freedom. More creativity. More connection. And yes—more confidence, for you and your clients.
If you’re ready to step into something new, now’s the time.

The Many Ways We Learn: Beyond the Classroom
Learning is not something that only happens in a classroom. While school is one of the most traditional places we associate with gaining knowledge, it’s just one part of a much bigger picture. Every experience we have, every place we go, every person we meet, and every challenge we face has the potential to teach us something new. When we begin to understand this, we realize that learning is not…

Wrenches Down: The Rise and Stalling Out of Automotive Trade Schools
Once upon a time, a set of dirty coveralls meant you were going places. Maybe not a corner office, but certainly toward a stable, blue-collar life where torque specs and timing belts were more important than slide decks and synergy. Nashville, Tennessee—a city that now boasts rooftop margaritas and cowboy-booted influencers—was once a place where working with your hands meant pride, not Plan…
