anyways so last week we finished season 4 of house md
I can admit to crying in those final episodes
Also this kinda ruined my werewolf au. Because now my babies are fighting and I can't quite reconcile that with what I have of my au.
So. Multiple ideas:
Amber is a vampire. She survives, but when Wilson decides that her miraculous recovery means he should tell her that he's a werewolf, she reveals that actually vampires and werewolves don't go well together for dating (which uhh. Is a bit of a problem bc I'm pretty sure there's a bit where they think cuddy wants to date wilson and wwwau cuddy is also a vampire). So she breaks up with him and is still alive and they're just broken up
Amber still dies. Wilson forgives house faster than canon bc while he was about to let Amber in on werewolf stuff he didn't yet, so she's not pack while house IS pack, so I'm just ignoring all those parts of s5 for the sake of my boys and nothing else
Amber dies but now she's been pack?? House is also upset because they've now both been Wilson's people and while he might not have liked Amber he respected the fact thay wilson did and sorta respected Amber as a person too. They're not mad at each other but still get time apart. Wilson has a character arc where he goes to meet some wolves in the forest and tells them about how one of his humans got another one killed and effectively does werewolf therapy with this older werewolf (who will later come in and find human wilson because in this version good things can't happen and older werewolf has cancer and is dying). House would come up to wilson in that period when Wilson left in canon and go "I get it if u don't wanna be pack anymore and go be with other wolves in the forest like uve been doing for months now - yeah I know abt that btw" and wilson would just. Break. Bc wtf do you mean "don't wanna be pack" of course he still wants to be pack. He just needs time alone for a sec.
A universe where season 4 happened but Amber and Wilson aren't dating. Still got the new fellows but wilson is still woefully single and Amber goes to work at like. Mercy or something. Idc. Just means she doesn't die. But house might :3 because the bus very much did still crash in this version
Just. Ignore season 4 entirely. Didn't happen cannot touch me. Foreman did quit and idk maybe cameron too. Chase didn't really get fired so much so as he got promoted. He's got a small office near wilsons and he runs the magical medicine department where they treat magic people, which includes werewolves and vampires but also like. Just people practicing magic. Because chase is one of those in this au. He eats rocks and I do have a case in mind where a seer running a magical ingredients shop gets saved by him and she gives him some really cool stuff to do magic with and after that it becomes custom for patients to hand in small magical artifacts to their doctors if they're treated by the magic ppl. One of those patients accidentally fuels chases addiction to eating shiny rocks. There's a silly intervention. Anyways there's gonna be new fellows to replace those three and they might be the same fellows but also maybe not. Because I'm not sure if foreman can keep his job at mercy this time around. So I can have taub replace him in the sceptic position (but this time with the mild spicy interest of "well ok, say that vampires exist. Why do we believe our patient is one just because they say so? Everyone lies after all" and stuff). Thirteen is gonna be. Some type of creature probably. So's kutner but his vibes are just murky enough that I'm stuck in the like ??? Phase of "is he magic or just neurodiverse"
Help. Legit cannot decide between these
#house md#Werewolf wilson au#I've got. Maybe three ideas with the og fellows#And absolutely none with the new ones but also at least one that requires chase to not work for house anymore#Soo#Help me decide. Legit considering making a poll for this. Help

Pumpkin Patch part 2
Requested: Yes(ish)
Pairing: Tom Holland x Best Friend!Reader
Part 1
a/n: so i wasnt going to do a part 2, but i realized my first one shot kinda left it on a cliff hanger soo..here we are!
Getting back to Tom’s flat, you gently nudge Harrison awake.
Wake up sleeping beauty, we’re back,” you whisper.
His eyelashes flutter awake and he stretches his arms.
“That was a bloody good nap,” he yawns.
“I’m glad you had a good rest,” you reply wittily.
The three of you walk into Tom’s apartment, each of you carrying your medium sized pumpkins.
You set them down on the kitchen table and rub your hands on your jeans.
“Oh! My big and small pumpkins!” you gasp, going back to the car to get them.
“She’s not going to be able to carry that big one back in here,” Tom recalls, smiling towards the front door.
Harrison notices his stare and smirks.
“So why don’t you go help her out?” he offers.
Tom looks at him bewildered and quickly shakes his head.
“Tom, you’ve got to start making moves, you wanker,” Haz chuckles.
“M-make moves? For what?” Tom fidgets, crossing his arms.
“Don’t make me say it. Anyway, you’re losing daylight!” Has points towards the door, causing Tom to raise his arms in defeat and make his way to you.
When he got to the front door, he took in the sight of you trying to carry both pumpkins. You were leaning on your left leg for balance, carrying the bigger pumpkin and slowly reached for the small pumpkin.
He shuts his eyes and chuckles, shaking his head at your attempt to carry both.
“You know, you could have asked for help, love,” he says, jogging down his front steps.
You turn to see Tom and let out a sigh.
“Oh thank god, I’m starting to lose feeling on my left side. Here,” you place the bigger pumpkin into Tom’s arms.
Your fingers lightly graze his arms, and you quickly look away. Even though he was wearing a sweater, you don’t want to be distracted by his toned muscles and unbelievable strength.
You grab the small pumpkin and lead him back into the house.
“So, pumpkin carvings; want to do them tonight?” Harrison suggests.
“Absolutely!” you shout.
“Perfect, I’ll get the knives and cutters out. Tom…you can just hang around,” Harrison jokes.
“Are you implying I can’t handle myself with a knife?” Tom scoffs.
“Tom, you can barely handle a scissor,” you laugh.
“Anyway, let me go change into something less cute so I don’t get pumpkin guts all over me,” you say, running upstairs.
Harrison grabs the utensils needed and brings them to the living room table.
It’s better to cut the pumpkins there considering you’ll all have more room to maneuver.
Tom grabs towels and lays them on the floor and on the wooden table.
“So, what's your plan, hm?” Harrison asks after a few minutes of silence.
“Plan..?” Tom furrows his eyebrows.
“You know, how are you going to tell Y/N you fancy her?” his teeth graze his bottom lip.
“Oh, fuck off, Haz,” Tom swats the air and straightens out the towel on the table.
“Did you really not think I’d notice?” Harrison asks, offended.
“Well, no, I-I guess not. But I thought you liked her?” he questions.
“I did, but I don’t like her nearly as much as you do. You practically drool over her when she does the slightest thing as look your way!” Harrison adds.
Tom shakes his head, grinding his jaw.
“Don’t pretend like I’m not right,” Haz raises a brow.
But he was right, and Tom knew it. Tom loved absolutely everything you did, and found the smallest things adorable and admirable. You had him insanely whipped.
“And I think she might like you, too,” Harrison spoke up again, plopping on the couch.
“Right, and my name is Bob,” Tom rolls his eyes, sitting on the floor.
“It’s quite amazing how smart and talented you are, yet your common sense is lacking,” Haz laughed.
Tom frowned, shooting him a glare.
“Oh, take the piss once and a while mate. Even though it’s true,” he smirked.
Meanwhile, you were upstairs getting changed into something more comfy. You grabbed a black sweatshirt that might’ve belonged to Tom and snaked it over your head.
The scent lingered in your nose, and you knew right away that it was, in fact, Tom’s.
You smile at the thought, but quickly shake your head.
You can’t like Tom. He’s your absolute best friend, along with Haz. You all have a great thing going, you don’t want to ruin it with false feelings. Besides, he didn’t like you back anyway, right? Right?
There was that one time his hug lasted a little longer than it had; and that day you all went to breakfast and he insisted on sitting across from you. You could have sworn his eyes were burning a hole through you, yet you didn’t mind.
But all those feelings were pushed back when you were set into reality.
It simply wouldn’t be possible to date Tom, with him in the spotlights and expanding his career.
And you’d never hinder his growth with your selfish wants.
You slide on leggings and throw your knotty hair up in a bun. It was about time your hair got out of your face.
You jog down the stairs and see the boys in the living room.
“You ready to carve some pumpkins?!” you exclaim.
The boys yell “Yeah!” making you gush and smile wider than you had been.
You sit on the floor next to Tom, and he scoots over to give you more room.
“Shall we make this more interesting? Maybe hold a contest?” Harrison asks.
“I like it! But wait, there’s three of us here, who’s gonna judge?” you ask.
Harrison pulls out his phone and points it towards the table of pumpkins.
“Okay, so Tom, Y/N and I are about to carve pumpkins. It’s up to you, the viewers, to vote on who’s pumpkin turns out best!” He points towards each pumpkin and when he’s finished recording on what you assume was his instagram video, he begins to frantically tap on his screen. Tom pulls out his phone as well, situating himself in front of the pumpkins and turning his phone facing him.
“So, as you saw in Harrison’s story, or if you’re just viewing my story, Haz, Y/N and I are carving pumpkins. When we’re done I’m going to show them all and you get to pick your favorite!”
Just then, you feel your phone vibrate, signaling a tag from Harrison on his story, and Tom’s follows shortly after.
“I better win...wait, what does the winner get?” you ask.
“Bragging rights..” Harrison says, beginning to carve the top of the pumpkin and remove the seeds.
“No! It should be something legit,” you shake your head and start to ponder.
“Bragging rights AND this pumpkin seed,” Harrison holds up the insides of the pumpkin, causing you to frown.
“Agh, I hate this part of carving!” you yank the top of you pumpkin off and begin to carve inside to remove the slimy seeds.
“How mad would you be if I just put all of this in your hair?” Tom asked cheekily.
“Very mad, Thomas, don’t you dare!” you screech, sliding away from him.
Tom laughs and throws the remnants of the pumpkin into the garbage.
You all decided on carving a traditional face into the pumpkins, but the true test was who’s would look more professionally done.
There was a silence in the room, concentration at an all time high.
“There’s a reason why I’m an actor,” you hear Tom whisper sing-song-like, and you giggle.
He looks over at you and smiles, proud of himself for making you laugh.
He sneaks a glance at your pumpkin, and notices you are doing exceptionally well.
“Well damn, Y/N, when were you going to tell us you had a keen eye for art?” Tom asks.
“A true artist never reveals her secrets,” you wink at him.
Tom could feel a blush creeping up his neck, and quickly looks away from your stare.
Harrison watches your interaction unfold in front of him, baffled at the fact neither of you knew each other’s intentions.
It was about an hour later, and Haz and Tom decided to post pictures of all 3 of the pumpkins on their story, along with a poll.
In the end, your pumpkin came in first, Harrison’s came in second, and Tom’s came in third.
“Rubbish! You guys are supposed to be on my side!” Tom cried on his instagram story.
“Don’t be mad! Your fans recognize true talent!” you taunt, shooting the camera an award winning smile. Tom made a mental note to save that story to his camera roll later.
You and Harrison start cleaning up the mess while Tom adds his finishing touches to his instagram story.
“Your fans are going to go nuts over all the new content,” you note.
“Good, now you won’t be canceled, Tom!” Haz sneers.
“I don’t even know what that means,” Tom folded his arms, “so your words mean nothing.”
“Why don’t you two put the pumpkins on display out in the front? I’ll wash up everything,” Harrison insists.
“You sure, Haz?” you pout.
“Yeah, yeah. Go on,” he shoos you two away.
You look at Tom and shrug, grabbing your pumpkin.
Harrison nods your way to Tom, as if to say “now’s your chance.”
Tom follows you outside with his pumpkin.
The night sky is illuminated by the stars and waning moon, the cool breeze sending shivers down your spine.
“Is this my sweatshirt?” Tom asks, lightly pulling at the hoodie.
“Oh, yeah. You don’t mind, do you?” you ask hesitantly.
“No, course not. What’s mine is yours, darling,” Tom assures you.
You give a cheeky grin and sit on the steps. You pat the spot next to you and Tom complies.
You sigh, looking up at the stars.
Tom takes this time to take in your profile, his eyes darting from your eyes to your lips.
“You’re awfully quiet, Tommy,” you whisper, eyes still glued to the stars.
Tom clears his throat.
“Just taking in the view is all,” he admits.
You bring your attention to the brown eyed boy and smile.
“Y/N...there’s something you have to know,” Tom trails off.
“Oh my gosh, you’re pregnant?” you gasp teasingly.
“No, seriously,” Tom averts his eyes and turns his body to you.
“What’s up, Tom?” you ask, growing concerned.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for..quite a while, actually,” he laughs breathily, “and I feel like if I don’t tell you now, it’s just going to consume me. Your presence consumes me, Y/N.”
You blink at him, slowly letting out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Did Tom just confess his feelings to me? You thought. The corners of your mouth quirk up.
“Well, that makes me feel better about feeling the same way, then,” you confess.
His face perks up at your words and you can see his boyish smile shine through the moon’s light.
“I was hoping you would say that,” he said.
You smile up at him and lean your head on his shoulder.
Harrison watches from the living room window and sighs out, “Fucking finally,” chuckling to himself.
Tom owed Harrison big time for this one.

Rap Beast: Here comes the up-and-coming artiste, ASYRFNSIR, the spellbinding KL-hailed musician who recently puts out the antidote rap track “VIRUS”

You might not want to miss out on this one because this artiste right here is about to blow up and become the next big thing inside the music industry. He’s ASYRFNSIR (pronounced as Asyraf Nasir). Having been recently crowned as the champion of RapStar ERA, where he toppled down other equally prodigious contestants in front of the music industry virtuosos as the judges, the climbing moves for the effervescent rap star doesn’t stop just there. In an introspective interview with writer Ainaa Amirrah, ASYRFNSIR lets us in on the analytical facet of him and his first commercial single “VIRUS” which is collaboratively produced by Def Jam South East Asia and Universal Music Malaysia. Could be, “VIRUS” is all about the current pandemic that we’re being faced with right now? This is where the “secrets” get revealed.
Words by Ainaa Amirrah
When was the first time you realized that you're into rapping?
I’ve always been into hip hop since I was in school. The first rap song I heard was “I’ll Be Missing You” by Puff Daddy (his name at the time la) and I just got hooked into the genre ever since. But taking rapping more seriously started three years ago when I decided to join this video making competition about a potato snack with an old classmate I had not seen since I left high school! I randomly decided to go makan (eat) very late at this mamak stall I have never gone to around the neighbourhood and bumped into him. He shared with me that he does video editing full-time and so, I recommended him to tag along for the competition. We had to lip sync the words and while filming the scenes, my friends was saying how I should try writing actual songs because zaman sekolah dulu (during the high school years) I liked to do parodies! Long story short, we won and managed to meet SonaOne for the first time because he was the jingle for that video competition. Pretty overwhelming considering that was the first time I won anything before! After that my friend tried to convince me to rap for real, and the deal he made was that he’d shoot every music video I do for free to help build my career. And damn, I guess here we are! Crazy times. I owe a lot to this guy, if not, I might have not taken that step to start. Much love to you, Nicholas Bong!
How does it feel like being crowned as the champion of RapStar ERA?
Surreal. That is the best word that I can think of. Okay, so I’m going to be honest and say that none of the participants expected that this thing was going to be that big! I saw the poster online and thought it was just a standard challenge where you have to upload a 1-minute video of you rapping and boom! Done! Sadakallahul'azim, finish already and we have found a winner. But no man, from the ‘Gram we had to go for live auditions and from there it was an intensive 2-week journey with daily challenges! Every day we had to write fresh 16 bars on a new beat and memorize it for the next day! If this was another ‘upload video on Instagram’ thing takpe la (nevermind), but we had to perform in front of actual judges in the music industry! (Fariz Jabba, Joe Flizzow, Navigator, SonaOne). Dah la (What’s more) we had the finale show some more, and it was a legit concert! So to put it simply, very overwhelming because the journey was very competitive and the hype about the whole competition was building up along the way so the pressure for me personally, was high. My whole family for the first time came to see me perform live kot that night of the finale! What made me join the competition by the way, is of course the opportunity to work with Def Jam South East Asia, but also, I always try to participate in any rap challenges on Instagram. I feel like it pushes myself to continue to come up with materials creatively (because you have to make videos too kan) and personally I feel like if you want to get anywhere, we just have to take every opportunity we can to showcase our skills you know? We can’t be too picky and selective on what we want to take part in, because the true fact is that how you perform will determine the outcome.
Now that you’ve become the RapStar ERA champion, what plans do you have in mind for the next phase? Are you still going to actively produce more of free verses posted on your Instagram, or perhaps, we could expect an extended play or an album coming from ASYRFNSIR?
Writing never stops. Since RMO started, I’ve been coming up with this series called #Quarantingz where I would come up with a fresh verse every two days, based on the stories of other people during quarantine! I enjoy putting up content and it challenges my writing capability to explore new flows, so yeah, you can expect more free verses! I’ve had plans of coming up with an album by the end of this year, but RapStar ERA happened, and right now, I just want to recalculate my steps for a solid game plan you know? We’ll see.

You've significantly been known to have always included your personal trademark of "#AYangLuMinati" in your bars. Perhaps you could enlighten us about the meaning behind the words?
“AYangLuMinati” was a completely accidental tagline. So my hand sign which is the shape of an ‘A” was interpreted by a lot of random kids who said that I’m showing ajaran sesat (heresy) and promoting the Illuminati agenda whatever that means. But I wasn’t mad or anything, I just thought that it was hella funny on how the internet can have so many different interpretations. So what I did was put up in my Instagram stories of the ‘actual’ or common Illuminati hand signs or symbols and show that it clearly is very different. And this is where the tagline came about, I put a poll that said: “What do you see in this hand sign?” A) Illuminati. B) A-luminati. C) A-Yang-Lu-Minati. From what I thought was a very lame pun, people actually voted and responded to C! So instead of taking all the concerning comments [and teguran (reprimands) in DMs too] as a form of negativity, I embraced it and turned it into my trademark. Also, Altimet used to refer to himself as ‘A’ a lot in his music. And one of the last few words he mentioned in an interview before he retired from performing was telling the new rappers to “be better than me”. So I guess as a personal interpretation, I wanted to strive and be better than the OGs in the game eventually in my journey to the top.
Can you tell us a bit about your first single “VIRUS” produced by SonaOne of Def Jam South East Asia? Could be, is it about the current Covid-19 pandemic that’s happening right now?
A lot of people assumed that it is about the Covid-19 before the song was released, but I’m afraid that it is absolutely not related at all. This song was made before the RMO and I think the pandemic only just started to slowly spread in Malaysia. In the spirit of current news, I thought it would’ve been fun to use that as a reference in the song as a means of saying that my music is contagious. But then, the more I thought about it, this song is going to be my first introductory single into a wider audience in the music industry. I needed to make sure that this leaves a memorable mark in everyone’s minds. Thus, I embraced myself to be the ‘virus’ itself. Hoping to ‘infect’ the eardrums of listeners who had just heard of me for the first time, leaving them wanting for more. As much as this ‘spreads’ as a ‘virus’, it is also an antidote to ease everyone who’s been deprived of a good hit during the quarantine period. So without mentioning Covid-19, if you analyse the lyrics, there’s a lot of keyword elements about bacteria, hygiene etc. But they are interpreted as life lessons instead.

Could we also expect any forthcoming projects of you with Def Jam South East Asia after this?
Well, I don’t know yet. (No really, I don’t!) But if God wills, if “VIRUS” achieves its goal, let’s hope you guys will be addicted for more! So stream it everywhere and stay tuned! Regardless, my promise to you is that I’m definitely going back into the lab and continue writing more bops for you guys!
I’m pretty sure that the fans out there are curious about the cash that you won from participating in RapStar ERA. What was the first thing that you bought using the money?
Well, so far, I haven’t used the money yet. But this has always been my thing since I started performing, which is that whatever I earn from music, I try to put it back to the growth of my music. The first few pay checks I got from my early gigs, I used them for buying a new studio mic and headphones for better quality. So I won’t spend it on other material items but instead, probably build my home studio or channel it back into my future music video productions!
What are the reasons that especially keep you motivated and positive in pursuing your dream of becoming a successful artiste?
What keeps me motivated is honestly, the scene itself. I feel like listening to great materials by other rappers, both old and new, keeps me fired up. It’s like collecting the great energy around and channelling it into your own you know? Also, the goal is to share the good stuff I have because I would like to believe that I’ve got materials and a style that the world would want to pay attention to.

So it seems like you’ve been venturing more into trap music as heard in your discography. Would you one day, like to any other genres in showcasing your rap ability?
I’m actually flexible in different sounds, I guess my recent releases have been more into trap but I’m more open to trying out other genres as well! People always think rap needs to only be in hip hop, but rapping is just a skill like singing. If you can sing in other genres, surely rapping can apply too, no? Break the barriers! If not, we wouldn’t have Rage Against the Machine! Linkin Park! Old Town Road by Lil Nas X!
What do you really hope the world sees in ASYRFNSIR’s music?
The energy I bring in every track. I always try to associate myself with good vibes and good tunes for people to have a good time you know? The message will come together of course, and it may be about other issues instead of my own story. You can give my first release a listen called “Sunshine”, which is an ode to all women in conjunction of International Women’s Day. Plus, I don’t curse in my lyrics so you guys can bet your 3-year-old niece to listen to my music too.
Any hope for the local music scene in Malaysia?
A lot. I have so much hope and expectations from the music scene in Malaysia. We got young blood filled with talent who’s just trying to do what they do best you know? Some of these newer acts also have crossed borders and gained fans in our neighbourhood countries like Midnight Fusic. GARD is also one of the gems we have in the hip hop scene. Have you heard his EP with WUZGUT titled CPR (Club Perenang Rohani)? So yeah, I think we’re headed the right direction. Just let the people do their thing! And do your part in showing support as well. Also, one more thing I want to add, I feel like in order for us to push the standards, we should remove ‘local’ when we announce our talented musicians. For example ‘local singer’ or ‘local rapper’ or ‘local music’. An artiste is an artiste, and if people can take out the ‘Malaysian’ label in our artistes, we can finally improve the mind set of putting these people on the same pedestal as other international artistes.
QUICK TRIVIA Q&A WITH ASYRFNSIR!

Be rich or be smart? Smart. Smart people always have ways in making money. Boom.
Be handsome or be famous? Famous. Looks alone may not get you anywhere. Fame can help give you a greater voice of influence. It’s a great tool to create change in less fortunate communities and the lives of others as well.
Have a song with Eminem or Tupac? Tupac. The values and messages he carries in his rhythm and poetry.
Beat SonaOne or Joe Flizzow in a rap battle? Hmm, okay in RapStar ERA, Joe Flizzow was the judge for one of the rounds we had which was a rap battle. No disrespect, but if you could be the judge, then damn, they should just give you the crown already.
Live in Paris or Japan? Japan! Have always admired the Japanese lifestyle and values they have. They’re also very innovative! Constantly levelling up! Amazing. I can imagine living there.
Have 9 lives like cats or own 9 Porches? 9 lives man. Create a new legacy in every life you’re given. Boom! Also, you got 9 Porches for what? Parking susah guna Grab jugak. (At last, you’re going to be using Grab anyways because of parkings.)
1 million dollars to save in your bank account or give it away to charities? Invest in things to help yourself first and the people around you. Only then use the tools and influence you have to help the less fortunate. I am sometimes sceptical on donating money to charities, because you don’t handle the accounts so you don’t know where the money goes and what is spent on.
Eat pizza for your whole life or rendang instead? PIZZA FOR LIFE!

15 Advanced Facebook Advertising Techniques You Probably Didn’t Know About
Facebook advertising is just as powerful in 2017 as it’s ever been.
Perhaps even more so.
The sheer volume of users alone (1.71 billion as of July 2016) makes it a digital marketer’s playground.
When it comes to Facebook advertising, I could spout off a laundry list of done-to-death conventional techniques.
And most are still quite effective.
But what I want to do here is delve a little deeper and truly dissect Facebook.
I want you to understand its full potential.
Here are 15 advanced Facebook advertising techniques you probably didn’t know about but should most definitely experiment with.
1. Using “Pages to Watch”
Facebook has a pretty cool feature called “Pages to Watch.”
It’s not something I use for marketing directly, but it can provide some helpful insights to assist me in my marketing.
Long story short, you can compile a list of pages you’re interested in along with analytics.
Here’s what I mean:
Just add pages from brands that are relevant to your industry and have a strong Facebook presence.
This is helpful because you can see which posts are the most and least engaging. In turn, you can use this information when deciding what to post on your own page.
Check out this article from Buffer for more info on the Pages to Watch feature.
2. Post images via Instagram
Here’s a sneaky little tactic I stumbled upon.
Rather than posting images directly on Facebook, post them via Instagram.
Why?
A study from Buzzsumo found that “images posted via Instagram get 23% more engagement.”
And this makes sense, considering the insane level of engagement Instagram receives.
According to Brand Watch, “Engagement with brands on Instagram is 10 times higher than Facebook, 54 times higher than Pinterest and 84 times higher than Twitter.”
Legitness!
In theory, following this simple step can net you nearly a quarter more engagement than simply posting directly on Facebook.
3. Forget the hashtags
Okay, hashtags are well and good in certain situations.
In fact, they’re quite beneficial on networks such as Instagram and Twitter.
But not so much on Facebook.
The same study from Buzzsumo found that posts with hashtags received less engagement than posts without.
Not only does this save time, but you’ll also get more bang for your buck with every piece of content you post.
Think of it as a mini-hack.
4. Post between 10 p.m. and midnight local time
I’m sure you already know that timing is essential on social media.
Even if you post a masterpiece, it’ll have only a marginal impact if your audience never actually sees it.
It’ll get shuffled to the bottom of their feeds.
From my experience and concrete data from Buzzsumo, the ideal time to post is between 10 p.m. and midnight local time.
There are two main reasons why.
First, there are fewer people posting content, which means less competition and more visibility.
Second, there are enough people still awake and active on Facebook to make it worth your time.
This graph from Buzzsumo illustrates this phenomenon:
Stick with this two-hour window, and you should be golden.
5. Using “Audience Insights”
You should know by now that I’m a sucker for cool social media features.
Especially those that are highly data-driven.
The “Audience Insights” feature is perfect for helping me get a detailed snapshot of my audience so I can cater to them more efficiently and create relevant content based around their interests.
And relevancy is essential because it ultimately maximizes your impact and increases your ROI.
You can get information on:
Age
Gender
Lifestyle
Education level
Job title
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The data you generate from this can spill over into other elements of your overall marketing campaign.
Check out this resource from Facebook for more on this feature.
6. Work video into your core strategy
I think we can all agree that video is huge at the moment.
Some might even consider 2016 as the year of video.
The interesting thing is that video accounts for only 3% of all content on Facebook.
I found that number to be staggeringly low.
But it also presents a great opportunity.
Posting plenty of high-quality video content allows you to grab the low-hanging fruit many of your competitors appear to be missing out on.
This leads me to my next point.
7. Directly embed videos
Considering YouTube is so huge, your first instinct may be to embed YouTube videos into your posts.
But that’s the wrong move.
That’s because “directly embedded Facebook videos get more engagement than YouTube embedded videos.”
A lot more!
Just look at how much the total number of interactions from direct embedding dwarfs the number of those embedded with YouTube.
Keep this in mind moving forward, and your engagement levels should increase considerably.
8. “Crowdsource” your business decisions
You’re probably familiar with the term “crowdfunding,” where capital is raised with contributions from a large number of people.
You can apply a similar concept to Facebook with “crowdsourcing” key decisions.
Here are some examples:
Ask your audience to choose your brand’s new logo
Ask which new background to use for your Facebook profile
This is cool because:
a) it lets your audience know you’re genuinely interested in their opinions, and b) it is a natural catalyst for engagement.
The easiest way to crowdsource is to create polls in which people can vote.
9. Keep posts under 150 characters in length
Less is best in terms of Facebook character count.
In fact, I recommend treating it like Twitter—use a max of 150 characters.
Why?
It’s simple. Shorter Facebook posts receive far more engagement than longer ones.
Here’s data to prove it:
As you can see, posts with 50 characters or fewer receive the most interactions, and the number of interactions gradually declines as more characters are added.
In other words, keep it short and sweet.
10. Add CTA buttons to your Facebook ads
Here’s an interesting fact:
“The average advertising click-through rate on Facebook is 0.9%.”
But “adding a CTA button can lift your click-through rate by 2.85 times.”
Just think of the long-term impact this can have on your campaign.
Adroll even made a brief infographic that mentions the “big results from a little button.”
Check out this guide from Facebook to learn exactly how to create a CTA button.
11. Using “Facebook Groups” for community building
You may have heard Seth Godin talk about the importance of groups or “tribes” as he calls them.
It’s an essential component of brand building.
But one resource I think that many marketers are failing to capitalize on is “Facebook Groups.”
It’s a lot like LinkedIn Groups where you create a specific group based around a key topic of interest (usually your niche).
This is beneficial for several different reasons:
It strengthens your relationships
It helps you build new ones
It builds brand equity
It facilitates interaction
You can gain valuable intel
If you’re not sure how to go about this, consult this quick tutorial from Facebook.
12. Pin your most epic post
Another feature I love is the option to “pin” posts at the top of your timeline.
That way, Facebook users see your best content once they land on your page.
It’s kind of like putting your best foot forward, which hearkens back to the halo effect, which I discussed in another post.
I suggest looking over your timeline and finding the highest quality post that received the most engagement and “pinning” it to the top.
Here’s how to go about it.
13. A/B test your ads with Qwaya
I won’t launch into a long-winded discussion of how much I love A/B testing.
You probably already know that.
I will say, however, that it’s your ticket to maximum conversions and for cleaning up any inefficiencies in general.
But how exactly can you perform A/B testing on Facebook?
I suggest using Qwaya.
It’s a great Facebook ad manager that will help you take things to the next level.
Here’s a screenshot:
If you’re funneling a considerable amount of money into Facebook ads, this tool is a must.
You can learn more about it in this article I wrote.
14. Use plenty of “question” posts
In a previous article on Quick Sprout, I examined which types of posts received the most interactions on Facebook.
Here’s what I found:
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that “question” posts are ideal in terms of generating interactions.
It’s probably because people like to get in on the action and have their voices heard, so I suggest using this quite a bit.
15. Stick with articles between 1k and 3k words
I hope you don’t mind, but I’m going on a quick long-form content rant.
Once again, according to Buzzsumo’s findings, long-form content performs best on Facebook.
In particular, posts between 1,000 and 3,000 words are ideal.
However, you don’t want to go any further than 3,000, considering the fact there’s a significant drop off in the number of interactions.
Conclusion
I think Facebook gets overlooked these days sometimes because it’s become the old man of social media.
By this I mean there are always newer, hipper, sexier networks popping up.
But Facebook isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
In fact, it’s on track to reach two billion users within the next couple of years or so. That’s pretty insane when you think about it.
By going beyond the basics and swimming into the deep end, you can find some real potential for high-quality leads.
And by following the right formula, you can cash in on a large percentage of those leads and convert them into customers.
Can you think of any other advanced Facebook advertising techniques?
