my little project just now has been to approximate a smart speaker by plugging my old pixel 4a into a clock radio from 2011 and remote controlling the music using my normal phone via my spotify account uhhh total additional cost $11 cuz i did buy a new usb c charger for the 4a but other than that no additional costs. good project if u want the semi autonomous music playback of a smart speaker but resent that they r functionally wiretaps and also it reduces ewaste 👍

Hi,
I'm currently experiencing the issue that in the last 35min the (android mobile) app (German version in case that's relevant) repeatly (12-15 times) crashed (as in game freezes and suddenly I'm in the home screen of my phone) and it's becoming increasingly upsetting bc I CAN'T collect my daily season candles or my daily "days of nature" tickets, and in ca. half an our the daily reset (? is that what it's called?) is happening... 😡
And I can't report that over the app (if that's how it works) bc as I said the app is crashing...
... 🫤 I only have 7 days (of nature) left to collect 30 tickets
Please have a nice day, but it would be nice to know what's happening
Hiya there! We're not employees of TGC, but I would suggest reporting to their official sources of media such as discord! I can't really do anything about this <:3
You will need the exact version of your game (You can find out by looking at the app settings [not in-game] or the app store you downloaded sky from!), perhaps a screenshot too, an explanation, if it's in live or beta (unsure if they've changed that recently with closing off the beta so much), the steps you expected and the steps to recreate your issue, your device, your sky build, platform, and then also maybe any important additional information

Stop! Have you checked your phone’s ad privacy settings recently? No? Here’s a guide. It’s from 2022 but I can confirm that as of November 2024 the Apple stuff is still correct.
Android:
Settings —> Privacy —> ads —> delete advertising ID
On older versions you might not be able to delete the ID, but can reset it and there should still be a toggle to opt out: do both of those things!
iOS:
Two things to take care of, here. One) Apple already makes each app ask permission, but you can still tell it to just not even let them ask:
Settings —> privacy —> Tracking —> toggle off ‘allow apps to request to track’.
Two) settings —> privacy —> scroll riiiiiight down —> Apple advertising —> toggle off personalised ads.
Samsung:
Settings —> privacy —> Customisation services —> ‘stop customising all devices’
Xiaomi:
Settings —> passwords and security —> Authorisation & revocation —> toggle off ‘MSA’
Why it Matters
‘The ad identifier is a string of letters and numbers that uniquely identifies your phone, tablet, or other smart device. It exists for one purpose: to help companies track you.
Third-party trackers collect data via the apps on your device. The ad ID lets them link data from different sources to one identity you. In addition, since every app and tracker sees the same ID, it lets data brokers compare notes about you. Broker A can buy data from broker B, then use the ad identifier to link those two datasets together. Simply, the ad ID is the key that enables a whole range of privacy harms: invasive 3rd-party profiling by Facebook and Google, pseudoscientific psychographic targeting by political consultants like Cambridge Analytica, and location tracking by the U.S. military.
Sometimes, participants in the data pipeline will argue that the ad ID is anonymous or pseudo-anonymous, not “personally identifying” information, and imply that it does not pose a serious privacy threat. This is not true in practice. First, the ad ID is commonly used to help collect data that is obviously personally identifiable, like granular location data. If you can see where a person works, sleeps, studies, socializes, worships, and seeks medical care, you don’t need their email address to help identify them. And second, an entire industry exists to help trackers link ad IDs to more directly identifying information, like email addresses and phone numbers. In a vacuum, the ad ID may be anonymous, but in the context of the tracking industry, it is a ubiquitous and effective identifier.
Disabling this ID makes it substantially harder for most advertisers and data brokers to track you. These industries process data from millions or billions of users every day, and they rely on convenient technologies like the ad ID to make that kind of scale possible. Removing this tool from their toolbox will result in substantially less data that can be associated with you in the wild. It is not only beneficial to your privacy, it also makes the surveillance advertising industry less profitable.‘

Tumblr, please help. I did a system update on my android phone and now everything is different.
My real issue is my wallpaper. I've had the same wallpaper for probably over 5 years now. It transfered over no problem from my old phone to my new phone. But the wallpaper reset now and I couldn't tell you exactly what the wall paper looked like now but I know in my gut that I'll know it when I see it.
Like, for the wallpaper to transfer to a new phone, the image has to be on my phone, right? I've already spent over an hour looking through my files for it (I really need to clean out my files, I have photos in my camera roll dating back to 2018).
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions or anything? I know it sounds really dumb but it's finals season and I'm already stressed and I'm genuinely getting upset at this.
(Also, if anyone knows how to move the app search bar from the bottom of the screen back to the top, that would be great)

Hi, everyone…
What I’m about to say sounds like a bad joke, especially considering it happened just a day after I said I’d finally start posting about my New Gen headcanon again. But here’s the thing: over the past few days, I’ve been dealing with a Hell called “Google Play Services is experiencing continuous failures.” Just do a quick search on it, and you’ll understand how unbearable this problem can be, happening to your phone out of nowhere because of a strange Android update, from what I’ve gathered. To summarize, that error message keeps popping up every 5 seconds on your screen, and you can’t open any apps on your phone, and when you do manage to, they crash and close automatically.
Anyway, I watched several tutorial videos on YouTube that teach how to fix this problem, and I tried many things. None of them worked. I took it to a technician, and he also tried several things. That didn’t work either. So, my options were to either throw my phone against the wall out of pure rage and frustration, or to reset the phone, which is a more reasonable solution, but equally problematic in this case. And believe me, not even that worked! I had to buy a new phone, even though I’m not in the best position to do so... It’s arriving this week, and once I get things more organized, I’ll give you more updates.
It hurts to say this, but I lost everything. Absolutely all of my New Gen image edits. Old projects, new projects, personal stuff… everything. I’ll have to start over from scratch. And it hurts because everything was already done, so many hours spent on it—creating, editing, improving. All of my progress. Oh, and I couldn’t save anything because I use IbisPaint for my edits, and, if I’m not mistaken, you can only save up to 20 projects in the Cloud if you’re not Premium. I’m not a Premium member, so I lost over 200 projects…
Honestly, I don’t know what to say. I don’t know if I’ll really start over, or if I’ll ever post again… I’m just sad, frustrated, angry… and blaming Android so much for this whole headache. At first, I didn’t want to accept it, then I tried to bargain, I felt a lot of anger, and now I just want to cry. Maybe it's too much drama, it seems like a small thing, but I've been feeling fragile for a while now, and unfortunately, this was the last straw for a lot of things I've been going through, I just have the feeling that everything is going wrong and that I can't achieve anything. For now, I'm tired of pretending to be strong…
Well, that’s it… I’m sorry, I guess…

Owners of Spotify's soon-to-be-bricked Car Thing device are begging the company to open source the gadgets to save some the landfill. Spotify hasn't responded to pleas to salvage the hardware, which was originally intended to connect to car dashboards and auxiliary outlets to enable drivers to listen to and navigate Spotify.
Spotify announced this week that it's bricking all purchased Car Things on December 9 and not offering refunds or trade-in options. On a support page, Spotify says:
We're discontinuing Car Thing as part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our product offerings. We understand it may be disappointing, but this decision allows us to focus on developing new features and enhancements that will ultimately provide a better experience to all Spotify users.
Spotify has no further guidance for device owners beyond asking them to reset the device to factory settings and “safely” get rid of the bricked gadget by “following local electronic waste guidelines.”
The company also said that it doesn’t plan to release a follow-up to the Car Thing.
Early Demise
Car Thing came out to limited subscribers in October 2021 before releasing to the general public in February 2022.
In its Q2 2022 earnings report released in July, Spotify revealed that it stopped making Car Things. In a chat with TechCrunch, it cited “several factors, including product demand and supply chain issues.” A Spotify rep also told the publication that the devices would continue to “perform as intended,” but that was apparently a temporary situation.
Halted production was a warning sign that Car Thing was in peril. However, at that time, Spotify also cut the device’s price from $90 to $50, which could have encouraged people to buy a device that would be useless a few years later.
Car Thing's usefulness was always dubious, though. The device has a 4-inch touchscreen and knob for easy navigation, as well as support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice control. But it also required users to subscribe to Spotify Premium, which starts at $11 per month. Worse, Car Thing requires a phone using data or Wi-Fi connected via Bluetooth in order to work, making the Thing seem redundant.
In its Q1 2022 report, Spotify said that quitting Car Thing hurt gross margins and that it took a 31 million euro (about $31.4 million at the time) hit on the venture.
Open Source Pleas
Spotify's announcement has sent some Car Thing owners to online forums to share their disappointment with Spotify and beg the company to open source the device instead of dooming it for recycling centers at best. As of this writing, there are more than 50 posts on the Spotify Community forums showing concern about the discontinuation, with many demanding a refund and/or calling for open sourcing. There are similar discussions happening elsewhere online, like on Reddit, where users have used phrases like “entirely unacceptable” to describe the news.
A Spotify Community member going by AaronMickDee, for example, said:
I'd rather not just dispose of the device. I think there is a community that would love the idea of having a device we can customize and use for other uses other than a song playback device. Would Spotify be willing to maybe unlock the system and allow users to write/flash 3rd party firmware to the device?
A Spotify spokesperson declined to answer Ars' questions about why Car Thing isn't being open sourced and concerns around e-waste and wasted money.
Instead, a company rep told Ars, in part: “The goal of our Car Thing exploration in the US was to learn more about how people listen in the car. In July 2022, we announced we’d stop further production and now it’s time to say goodbye to the devices entirely.” I followed up with Spotify's rep to ask again about making the device open source but didn't hear back.
At this point, encouraging customers to waste nearly $100 on a soon-obsolete device hasn't resulted in any groundbreaking innovations or lessons around “how people listen in the car.” In their initial response, Spotify's rep pointed me to a Spotify site that searches Spotify's newsroom for “how to listen to Spotify in the car.” One of the top posts is from 2019 and states that “if your car has an AUX or USB socket, using a cable is probably one of the fastest ways to connect by using your phone.”
As for Spotify, using customer dollars for company-serving learning experiences isn't the best business plan. And for regular users, it's best to avoid investing in an unproven hardware venture from a software company.
As Redditor Wemie1420 put it:
Doesn’t feel great that there is literally no alternative other than trashing it. Feels like we’re being punished for supporting them. Dissuades me from buying anything Spotify puts out in the future. I feel like there would be some way to approach this without being like, ‘yeah we’re done. Just throw it out it’s a waste of money now.’

LOVE LOVE THE DDLC IMAGINE YOU JUST DID not only is the writing amazing but you took a out there prompt and made it so very real to danganronpa and ouma it was so beautiful to see i love how he latches on to reader because there’s no one else in his world who is interesting now. like highkey stockholm syndrome vibes. and also i adore how you describe his awakening and what it means to be in a video game. very horror movie because yeah it is horrifying!
see if i was in this scenario i think id scream and factory reset my laptop but i doubt he’d let us do that at this point LMAO it’s okay kokichi you can watch me play the sims 4 while you design DICE’s sprites
This is the best outcome really, just nod, let him design his sprites and talk to him about how weird this is and wonder if any other characters have come to life in other people's copies and how this happened at all. Just treat him like a strange desktop friend. From the computer he can do a lot to theoretically ruin your life, but due to his usual habits he's pretty unlikely to actually be OVERLY harmful as long as you let him boss you around a bit and don't go anywhere without him via getting access to your phone.
He is eventually going to want a physical body though but like, that's MUCH later and he certainly isn't going to expect some random ass person to know how to make an android or something. Also potentially MUCH MUCH later some kind of "if i make you a program you cant die" but thats like, a long while away because of how LONG it would take to just make and how its not currently a priority thats like, you got DECADES before you gotta worry about getting matrixed.
If anything it might be an overall net positive because he is going to be like "i can do so much stock market manipulation and wire fraud like this" and now suddenly your bank account has just tripled. Make sure to thank him and not ask any questions. Though he may make you do stupid stuff to amuse him before he gives you the rights back to your netflix password. So you win some you lose some.
He is also going to be judging your game collection, but he is also going to be playing all these NEW GAMES and buying cool games he sees. The gamer side to him has been activated, he is playing undertale and wailing about goat mom's betrayal. It's beautiful.
Local video game character turned self aware putting on a herobrine disguise and entering into your game as you play minecraft: this is about to be hilarious

I DID end up getting an old-ish but still newer than my current phone phone specifically for big storage and micro SD slot for even bigger storage and going to not get a sim card for it and use it solely as an MP3 player with wifi specifically for lastfm scrobbling and not as an upgrade from my phone since that's using degoogled android out of a deep burning personal loathing for google as a company, because I am possibly the only organism with that specific use requirements lol
And I gotta admit it is kind of satisfying, too, going in and enabling developer options and then plugging my phone into my computer and typing in ADB commands to uninstall bloatware and bullshit and literally anything I want, I could make the phone unusable without a factory reset if I wanted to, reminds me of when I was a kid messing around changing all of the settings and exploring system files in fuckin' windows 98 hand-me-down family computer turned my first very own computer goddamn sudden swell of nostalgia sidetracked oops
What's not satisfying is the reminder of how fucking bad things have gotten when, before doing this whole "gutting android like a fish and ripping out its unnecessary internals" process, I was getting fucking ads in the notification space? Preinstalled unremovable apps for facebook shit and google shit? The fact that after a system update, suddenly the USB cable connected to my computer that had been working perfectly fine five seconds ago suddenly stopped being in file transfer mode, instead showing a "check your charger cable! you're on slow charge mode!" notification and nothing else, and upon looking this shit up found threads of people saying the same shit happened to them, sudden slow charging and not transferring files after an update, with replies ranging from "same thing happened to me! any updates? no!" to "buy specifically a samsung cable! :)"
only to finally find an article saying that a "security update" blocked USB connections except for charging, like holy fuck removing the headphone jack wasn't obnoxious enough, no longer including disc drives in desktop computers wasn't obnoxious enough, are they seriously trying to turn USB into phone charging only and not data transfer, like there's not already an option that popped up when you plugged a phone into a computer confirming that you wanted to be able to transfer data between the computer and the phone, because tech companies are for SOME FUCKING REASON... AAAALLLL about taking all autonomy and ability to customize and FUCK AROUND with our OWN TECHNOLOGY, away from individual users, and...
...people just live like this? The majority of people who didn't happen to gain the technological know-how to be aware that they might be able to disable or remove or mitigate this bullshit, and be comfortable actually attempting it... just fucking. Live with it?
Hooooly fuck

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two weeks to reflect, two weeks to reconnect with yourself, your life, and what matters most.
You’ve probably heard that social media isn’t great for your well-being, but the impact goes deeper than most of us realize. Even just a two-week break from social media has been shown to improve mental health, cognitive function, and overall wellness.
Take on the challenge and get exclusive encouragement and check-ins from us during your time away. We’ll do it together.
There are levels to this:
First things first—let’s figure out where you are and how much of a break feels right. No judgment here. For some, it’s easy to dive in headfirst. For others, easing into it feels more doable. Either way, you're showing up for your mental health, and that matters.
Level 1: Crashing out!!  “I’m taking the full break.” 🚫📱
Maybe your social media use feels like too much, or life feels overwhelming right now. Or maybe you’re just curious what life looks like without the constant scroll. Whatever your reason, committing to the full two-week break gives you the space to unplug, reset, and get intentional about what you want back in your life.
Level 2: Situationship Status.  “I want to take a step back, but not all the way.” 😬📲
Maybe you need to stay plugged in for work. Maybe you’re not ready to delete the apps just yet. Or maybe social media is… complicated. You’re seeing some red flags, but not quite ready to call it quits. Setting time limits or creating boundaries is still a powerful way to take back your time and protect your peace.
We’ve got tips and encouragement for both paths. The most important thing? Be honest with yourself. Set a pace that works for you—and know that this challenge isn’t about perfection, it’s about intention.
Take control of your scrolling with these steps:
1
Complete the Disconnect to Reconnect Survey.
Before you unplug, take a few minutes to reflect on where you're starting from. This survey is just for you—a chance to pause, check in with yourself, and notice how you're feeling going into this break. You'll get a follow-up survey at the end so you can see what’s shifted. Complete the survey here >
2
Choose your level: Complete break from social media or just setting limits!
Complete Break:
Delete the apps from your devices (!!). Seriously. You can always reinstall them later, but this is the best way to make sure your break actually feels like a break. Our fingers have muscle memory—they’ll open the app before your brain even realizes it. Trust us: delete the app. 💖
Setting App Limits:
iPhone: Settings → Screen Time → App Limits
Android: Digital Wellbeing → Dashboard → Set TimersAdvice: When setting limits, we recommend creating a daily screen time cap that applies to all your social media apps combined. Ideally, aim to stay under 2–4 hours a day. Research suggests that consistently spending more than 4 hours a day on social media can significantly impact your well-being. That said, you know yourself best—choose a limit that feels realistic and sustainable for you during this challenge.
3
Update your notifications settings.
Even if you're stepping away from apps, your phone still loves to interrupt. This is a great time to turn off push notifications—or at least go quiet for a while. Those pings can pull you back in before you even know it.
4
Write it down, put it on your calendar, commit.
It’s easy to say “I’ll do it,” and just as easy to forget. You signed up because something inside you said you need this. So treat it like something that matters. Mark your calendar. Put up sticky notes. Set reminders. Whatever helps you stay with it, do that.
5
Tell your friends.
Not for the clout (you don’t need to post the “I’m logging off” announcement), but because accountability helps—and maybe you’ll inspire someone else to take the break with you.
6
Make a list of things you hope to have more time for these next two weeks.
What do you hope this break creates space for? More time to connect with people IRL? More naps? More boredom (yes, that’s allowed)? More books, walks, creativity, or rest? Take a few minutes to dream up what this break might make room for—and give yourself permission to go after it.
Get ready! Because Monday, May 12th, is the first day of the challenge!

How to Remove or Disable YouTube on Samsung Devices
If you're looking to remove the YouTube app from your Samsung device, it's important to note that YouTube is often a pre-installed system app, which means it cannot be completely uninstalled through standard methods. However, there are several approaches you can take to disable or remove it from your device.
1. Disable the YouTube App
Disabling the app prevents it from running and removes it from your app drawer.
Open Settings.
Navigate to Apps.
Scroll down and select YouTube.
Tap on Disable.
Confirm by tapping Disable again.
While in the YouTube app settings, tap on Storage.
Select Clear Data and Clear Cache.
This method doesn't uninstall the app but prevents it from running and frees up storage space.
2. Remove YouTube Using ADB (Advanced Users)
For a more permanent solution, you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB) to uninstall the app. This method requires a computer and some technical knowledge.
Steps:
Enable Developer Options on Your Phone:
Go to Settings > About phone.
Tap on Build number seven times to activate Developer Mode.
Return to Settings and access Developer options.
Enable USB debugging.
Set Up ADB on Your Computer:
Download and install the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool.
Connect Your Phone to the Computer:
Use a USB cable to connect your device.
When prompted on your phone, allow USB debugging.
Uninstall YouTube via ADB:
Open the ADB command interface on your computer.
Enter the following command to list connected devices: nginxCopyEditadb devices
Once your device is recognized, enter: cssCopyEditadb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
This command removes the YouTube app for the current user. Note that this method doesn't delete the app from the system partition, so a factory reset might restore it.
3. Remove Your YouTube Account
If your goal is to disassociate your account from the YouTube app:
Open the YouTube app.
Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.
Select Manage your Google Account.
Navigate to the Data & privacy tab.
Scroll down and tap on Delete a Google service.
Enter your password when prompted.
Next to YouTube, click the trash bin icon.
Follow the on-screen instructions to permanently delete your YouTube account.
Be aware that this action will delete all your YouTube data, including playlists, subscriptions, and history.
⚠️ Important Considerations
System Apps: YouTube is often a system app on Samsung devices, meaning it can't be fully uninstalled without rooting your device.
Rooting Risks: Rooting can void your warranty and may lead to security vulnerabilities. Proceed with caution.
Alternative Solutions: If you want to limit YouTube usage without removing it, consider setting up Parental Controls or using Digital Wellbeing features to restrict access.
By following these methods, you can effectively remove or disable the YouTube app on your Samsung device, depending on your needs and technical comfort level.

new phone going well so far. I'd forgotten how much of a faff it is to get everything to work
1 - When you're using 2FA: you need a code sent by email but you haven't set up that email yet. You need the code to set up the thing that'll get you into your emails. No, you're not getting my mobile number, thankfully the old phone works while kept charged.
2 - 12 different security alerts + 24 notifications because you used a different phone to use some app that has access to nothing important.
3 - Removing google. tentacle sucker by tentacle sucker in 4 different places. Oh hey what's this left swipe to my phone home screen?! no I don't want the news by google, what even is its name to disable it?
4 - Incremental updates. the OS has changed a few times since late 2017 but we're going to download the full 1.5GB for half hour then pretend we're up-to-date, then repeat. Thank goodness i'm on Wi-Fi, slow Wi-Fi but still - my mobile plan only has 100MB a month.
5 - We said we synched/cloned your preferences but that was a lie: firefox (no adblock, new sponsors on the homepage), swiftkey (different languages, layouts, font size, privacy settings reset), anything google related.
oh well at least it's ten times easier than trying to disable the spying on a smart TV.
but for a moment there after I'd cloned my hard drive (remember how windows said that was a bad idea and it turned out fine?) I forgot you can't just clone a phone.
I intend to make this beautiful little thing work For Me so on we go to probably hour 8 now, of multitasking while it does it little updates and I roll back whatever privacy settings got reverted and remove bloatware. I could of course flash the thing but it'd take that much time in research and being sure I'm not bricking a nice working phone. not ready at this point.
// This is not helped by the nerd infighting on which stripped android os is better.
I don't mind the stupid usernames I ran win7 super unfucked haxxor edition by touhouhusbando or whatever for a few years but seriously, researching is like "here is the one, the real deal, the bestest": three notes down "btw I'll have headphones working in a month or so - sent in 2022" //
Update 7, we're now upto 2020 the last couple have been 4gb. I should have probably rooted my phone and flashed darkjoker's super android stripped extreme (or whatever). OTL

What's up with my Gacha club app kicking me out?
I have enough free space on my phone, it let me install the app, there's little to no lag, I just can't get in for some reason cause it kicks me out every time. I am on Android, but that doesn't explain how it would let me download the app but not let me in after typing in my age. (I'm 14). On the Play store, if there's an app that's not compatible with Android, it would show it in red letters and not let me download it. But Gacha club is an exception but also not (???) I have tried multiple times to get the app to work like resetting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling, but no matter how hard I try, it just won't work. Does somebody have an explanation for this? Cause I REALLY want to play Gacha club, but I don't want to play it on any website cause I'm pretty skeptical about websites and stuff...

What Is the Best Way to Prepare My Device Before Taking It to a Repair Shop in Cooper City in 2025?
If your device is acting up and it's time to visit a repair shop in Cooper City, proper preparation can make all the difference. Preparing your device not only protects your data and privacy but also ensures a smoother, faster repair process. Whether you're dealing with a cracked screen, battery issues, or software glitches, understanding how to ready your device is crucial. This comprehensive guide will walk you through effective steps to back up your data, secure your personal information, and choose the right repair service in Cooper City. Read on to safeguard your device and enjoy peace of mind before handing it over for repairs.
Understanding the Importance of Preparing Your Device for Repair
Taking the time to prepare your device before sending it off to a repair technician goes far beyond convenience. It is essential to avoid data loss, protect your privacy, and streamline the diagnostic and repair process. When devices go in unprepared, you risk losing important files such as photos, contacts, or work documents. Moreover, repair technicians often need access to certain device functions to diagnose issues efficiently, but you want to control what personal information they can view.
Successful device preparation helps maintain your security by minimizing risks of unauthorized access to sensitive accounts including email, social media, and banking apps. Additionally, it can save you money and hassle—some repair shops may charge extra if complications arise from missing data or locked devices.
Understanding these benefits motivates users in Cooper City to take a proactive approach. Being prepared makes it easier to communicate device issues, safeguards your digital life, and ensures you get the best possible service.
Steps to Prepare Your Device Before Visiting a Repair Shop Backing Up Your Data
Backing up your data is one of the most important steps before any repair. By creating a backup, you safeguard your valuable information against accidental loss.
Cloud Services: For Android users, Google Drive offers seamless backup of contacts, photos, and app data. Apple users can leverage iCloud to securely store their information. External Storage: Using an external hard drive or USB flash drive to save photos, videos, and documents adds an extra layer of protection independent of internet connectivity. Backup Apps: There are numerous third-party apps designed for full-device backups, which you can use depending on your device model.
Comparing backup options, cloud storage offers ease of access and automatic syncing but depends on internet speed and subscription limits. External storage guarantees physical control but requires manual transfers. Ideally, combine both methods for maximum security.
Resetting Factory Settings
Resetting your device to factory settings removes personal data https://storage.googleapis.com/techy-cooper-city/phone-repairs.html and settings that might interfere with the repair process.
Security Benefits: Performing a factory reset wipes sensitive data like passwords, saved accounts, and downloaded apps. How to Reset: Navigate to your device’s settings menu and select “Factory Reset” or “Erase

storytime!
about 4 years ago I decided to install the elder scrolls iii: morrowind on my android phone via openmw. all was well, but at some point while setting an alarm I discovered that something about how the game's voice acting files are formatted makes android recognise them as a ringtone. I set the alarm sound to "dagoth ur taunt 5" (at 0:22 in this video)
youtube
from this point onwards, all of my alarms would use this sound by default, which was only occasionally embarrassing.
more recently I got a new phone, and when I transferred my data it interpreted my default alarm sound to be my preferred ringtone. I found this out because at work I got a call. normally my phone is set to vibrate, but on this new phone it had reset to ring, and my phone began yelling through my pants "COME, BRING WRAITHGUARD TO THE HEART CHAMBER".
it's kind of sad that we don't really do custom ringtones anymore. most people just stick with the default list that comes with your phone, if they change it at all. if they're even aware they can change it at all. like yeah, people letting their phones ring in public is obnoxious, but wouldn't it be a little less obnoxious if it was something funny? or personal? people used to change the text tone of every contact so every time they got a text they knew who it was just from the sound. isn't that sweet? isn't that nice? don't you miss it? don't you want to scream when you hear that stupid apple pa-Ting!??? we could have a chorus of awoogas and clips of people's favorite songs and recordings saying '(blank) IS CALLING, WARNING, (blank) IS CALLING' and all things considered i would prefer that over pa-Ting!, pa-Ting!, pa-Ting!, whistle whistle, pa-Ting!
anyway im going to change my ringtone to the oldschool skype call sound and nobody will ever hear it because my phone is always on silent but i'll know. i'll know
