the inconvenience of having A Moment with two fandoms at once and there's a shared name between the two
#it's one thing when it's like#another fucking character named Eddie#we've all seen the Buck/Eddie Eddie/Steve Steve/Bucky graphic yes?#(sometimes accompanied by Ed/Stede)#but when it's like#are you talking about my beloved Jim Kirk in an oddly formal way or are you talking about my nemesis James Tartt Sr?#less fun#less chance for confusion obviously but sometimes i see the name and get excited for discourse on one and am met with discourse on the othe#alas

Sorry if youâve answered this before but do you have any idea of how many chapters into the fire will end up being or how the ending will pan out? (Also I love you and the world youâve created thanks for being awesome <333)
I have answered this before, but I feel it changes day to day lol⌠ITF is about ummm halfway? It will absolutely be the largest fic of the three, but it has to be in order to bring this thing to a proper close. I could realistically do a fourth book but fuck it I am sticking to the original plan of three. I have the ending completely planned and most of the epilogue figured out as well⌠I will admit the only thing I donât have completely planned out is the nitty-gritty details that tend to unfold as the story happens? So as the battle begins who knows how characters will react or what emotions will come up so I like to keep things loose with that to give the characters room to breathe.
But yeah! I do have an ending and I have all the MAJOR events planned, so any twists & turns along the way are already set in motion :)
(I love you thank you for sending me this ask youâre amazing)
#I wasnât planning on doing this long of a âhealing arcâ#but honestly we worked so damn hard to get here I am really enjoying the characters interacting#Sokka was also freaking the fuck out for a while and Zuko refused to speak so now that weâre moving a LITTLE past thatâŚ#its more fun!#Like this next chapter is like⌠oddly wholesome?#There is laughter#& people enjoying themselves#smiling! Sun is fucking SHINING!#IT IS A DAMN GOOD DAY TO VISIT THE FUCKING MARKET#sorry i got excited haha#but yeah Iâm trying not to stress about word count or making it too long or whatever because well⌠fanfic#this is my fic and I can do whatever I want I decided lol#not that I couldnât before but I am trying not to stress about it haha#OK SO YEAH I HOPE YOU ENJOY I AM EXCITED WE HAVE SOME BATTLE PREPERATIONS TO GO! AHHHH#thanks for the ask seriously youâre great#irisviews73#leaving it all behind#LIAB#ITF#ask

It's a date - harry potter
concussions and interruptions au summary: when harry and his parents see you in diagon alley, they are surprised to see the sudden change in behaviour you have at your parents' presence. but that won't stop harry from getting his kiss. wc: 1.4k+
Harry leaned his head on his hand, laughing softly as his mother told him a story, much to his fatherâs embarrassment. âSheâs getting it completely wrong!â Argued James as Harry lifted up his butterbeer to his lips, eyes trailing to the side to watch people walk up and down the square, the wide streets of Diagon Alley giving him opportunity to people watch.
He was sat with his parents on a table on the side of the road, enjoying a drink from their favourite cafĂŠ, the summer sun shining down brightly on them. Harry closed his eyes softly as the rays of sun targeted him, and James immediately took the hat off his head to offer it to his son. Harry shook his head, thanking his father and urging Lily to continue her story.
But he suddenly wasnât able to focus, because walking out of Ceridwenâs Cauldrons was the love of his life. Harry straightened up, a wide grin forming on his face as he saw you, but before he could call out your name, a tall woman walked out of the shop behind you, a stern look on her face as she walked side by side with you.
Harry slumped back, holding his tongue. The woman was unmistakably your mother. What you were wearing made sense now. Like every pureblood woman, you looked oddly comfortable in your elegant black dress that stopped below your knee and heels that were undeniably a challenge to walk in on the uneven stone. Lily and James followed their sonâs eye line, frowning at the neutral look on your face; emotionless, matching that of just about every single pureblood.
They suddenly remembered when theyâd stopped by the hospital wing after Harry had gotten himself injured in another quidditch game. You had a fond smile on your face, looking at the boy with mesmerised eyes, the love on your features indisputable. The girlfriend they were seeing now was not the same one theyâd met at hogwarts, who stuttered when seeing them, a look of embarrassment on your face when your boyfriend had pulled you into a kiss in front of his parents.
Now, with a stoic expression on your face, you were unrecognisable. Your eyes flitted upwards at the feeling that you were being watched. You almost smiled when you saw Harry, feeling the corners of your lips tug upwards, but in practiced habit, you trained your lips to stay still. Neither Harry or his parents missed the way your eyes lit up with youthful excitement, but your head quickly snapped to the side to look at your mother who had been expecting a response from you.
Nodding, you watched as she took a left into the nearest shop, and instead of following her instructions to âwait hereâ, you hurried your steps down the lane, letting a beautiful smile blossom on your face.
Control yourself, you repeated in your mind, coming to a halt in front of the table. âHi.â You spoke softly, greeting your boyfriend and his parents. âAm I allowed to give you a hug, or..?â You smiled apologetically at your boy, shaking your head slowly. âIâm sorry Harry, my family is everywhere.â Harry nodded, trying to suppress the sadness from appearing on his face, but you still saw the way it fleeted across his eyes.
âMr. and Mrs. Potter.â You greeted, bowing your head down to them. James grinned at you, chuckling softly as he said hello. He was thrilled to find out you werenât still humiliated from the kiss Harry had placed upon your lips in front of them. After all, it had been several months since they had met you for the first time.
You did an apprehensive look around, ensuring none of your family was around. Alas, a strong hand was placed on your shoulder and you gasped, straightening your back impossibly further than it already was. âWhy are you standing around in the middle of the street?â You father questioned with a strict, judgemental tone.
Lily frowned as the smile immediately dropped from your face, replaced by a look of fear. âI, um, Iâm waiting for mother.â Your father scanned the area nearby, tilting his head in question when he didnât spot his wife. âSheâs in Shyverwretch's Venoms and Poisons.â You explained.
Your father hummed at your response, and you realised his gaze was occupied. You turned around, following his line of sight. He was staring directly at James Potter. âPotter.â Your father spat, receiving a scowl from your boyfriendâs father.
He yanked you away from the table and you stumbled towards him. Though he lowered his volume, Harry still heard him say âI have business in Knockturn Alley. Meet me with your mother by Esmereldaâs Bakery.â
You nodded obediently at your father, and he added âDonât forget to tell her. I donât need you making silly mistakes again.â
âYes, father. I apologise for my mistakes.â
âHave you gone to your motherâs designer to discuss a dress for the Parkinsonsâ ball?â You shook your head wordlessly. âI expect you to be done when I return.â
âHow long-â But your father was already spinning on the balls of his feet and disappearing into the alleyway.
You cleared your throat, beginning to walk away when you felt a tug on your hand. You pulled your hand away from Harryâs hold, looking around to make sure no one had seen the small movement. âItâs fine.â You mumbled, giving him a small smile. âIt was nice to see you.â You directed those words to Harryâs parents before you were on your way to find your mother again. Lily Potter tightened her grip around her husband's arm, a frown forming on her face. She glanced at Harry, reaching out to place a hand over one of his, his gaze stuck on where you disappeared into the shop.
Your mother was still busy in the shop, discussing something in a hushed tone with the worker. âMother, should I go to the tailor? Get my measurements before she discusses the designs with us?â She dismissed you with a âYes, go along dear.â And you were immediately rushing out of the shop, trying to shake off the embarrassment of Harry and his parents witnessing the exchange with your father.
You made a sharp turn into an empty alleyway, only stopping at the sharp call of your name. Harry was running towards you, panting softly. You took the opportunity to scan his outfit â something you hadn't had time for before. A light-washed pair of jeans and a plain green t-shirt. Smiling at him softly, you said in an âI told you soâ voice âI told you green suits you better.â
âYeah, thatâs why mum got me this shirt. Said who do you want to impress other than your girlfriend?â
You chuckled, lifting your hands up to Harryâs chest. He pushed you back against the wall of the alley and you gasped as he pressed his lips to yours, his nose nudging the side of yours. âI just really wanted to get that hug.â Harry explained, his arms snaking around your waist. You wrapped your arms over his shoulders, pulling him closer to you.
Pecking Harryâs lips softly, you mumbled âIâm sorry you had to see that with my father.â Harryâs hand came up to hold the side of your face. âNo, Iâm sorry sweetheart. That you have to deal with jerks like him.â
âYeah, me too.â You glanced up at Harry, feeling yourself shrink under his watchful gaze. âUh, can I get a last kiss before we let go?â Harry laughed as he leaned in, kissing you passionately for a few seconds before parting from you completely, arms falling to his sides. You sighed as he took a couple of steps back.
âSo the Parkinsonsâ ball. Do you have a date?â Questioned Harry, trying not to sound jealous. âYeah,â You started, and Harryâs eyebrows shot up in surprise. He had been joking. âI mean, Daphne asked me but so did Astoria.â Harry laughed whole-heartedly, putting a hand on his chest in relief. âIt makes it kind of awkward too since theyâre sisters. I donât like playing people like that.â
You glanced down at your feet, twiddling with your fingers. âUm, how about the night of the ball, I ask my parents if I can sleep over at Daphneâs, but instead I come find you somewhere?â
âTheyâll cover for you?â
You nodded at his question, shifting your weight from one leg to the other.
âIn that case, come over. You can change into something more comfortable at mine, and mum and dad would love to have you.â
âItâll be late though.â
âItâs fine, theyâll probably be up with my uncles anyway.â
You nodded, a smile blossoming on your face. Your heart began racing at the rebellious plan.
âItâs a date then.â

LIE DETECTOR â aaron taylor-johnson
In which both you and your husband were invited to do a lie detector test in the vanity fair channel.
note: I only own the story not the channel and our daddy Aaron. This was also inspired by Ariana Grande and Cynthia's lie detector episode so some of the questions in this story might be the same as the episode. I honestly don't like Sam Tayler that much because of her marrying a male so much younger than her but I can't lie that she's a decently good person, she matched Aaron's freak but a bit too muchâ
warnings!: none really.
__________________
"Hello I am Mr. Johnson, married to this lovely amazing woman here." Aaron Johnson greeted towards the large camera in front of him and his wife, who was beside him blushing as well as smiling widely at what he said, before moving his gaze towards you. Everyone in the room as well as the viewers could see the love in his eyes with the way he looks at you.
"And I am [ Your Name ] Johnson, the wife of this very handsome and devilishly charming bloke beside me." You grinned at the camera while moving your hand towards your husband's hand before holding on to it. This lead to Aaron subconsciously intertwining both of your hands before mindlessly holding it up for him to kiss your joined hands.
It was an adorable sight for everyone watching as they could feel the pure love coming from them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, you are here to take a lie detector test. One will be attached to a machine for the test to work and the other will be sitting in the chair in front of you to ask you some questions. So who will be ready to take the hot seat?" The woman behind the camera said to the couple. After hearing this, you raised your free hand taking you and your husband by surprise.
"I think I can go first." You said while you looked at your husband, seeing if he agrees.
"You sure? I can go first for you." Aaron proposed but you shook your head and said you were okay to go first.
Now seated in your places, the woman, Stephanie, who was a lie detector professional put a black strap around your chest as well as a smaller one around your index finger.
"You alright, love?" Aaron asked his lover while smiling slightly when he saw you closing your eyes when the straps were put on you. He could tell you were about to enjoy this test and he could tell he would as well.
"Yes! Does this detect my anxiety as well?" You asked towards Stephanie who paused for a while.
"Yes, it can."
"Oh fuck me." You cursed making your husband laugh at your misery.
"Oh yea, laugh at my misery, why don't you?" This made Aaron laugh even harder before composing himself.
"Right. So before we start with the serious question, I need you to answer some simple questions to calibrate the machine. You okay with that, love?" Aaron inquired.
"Oh, Absolutely." You agreed. Aaron nodded and cleared his throat before asking you the questions.
"Alright, are you [ Your Name ] [Last Name ] Johnson?"
"Yes."
Stephanie nodded.
"Were you born in [ Birthday ]?"
"Yes."
Another nod from Stephanie.
"Are you nervous?"
"Yes but at the same time I feel really excited."
Another nod.
"Were you and Mr.Johnson married in [ date ] and at [ time ]?"
"That's oddly very specific but yes." Aaron chuckled at this because he agrees.
"The machine has been calibrated." Stephanie informed the couple to which they nodded. You adjusted in your seat before breathing out to ready yourself for the real questions.
"You ready, hon?" Aaron looked at his wife who nodded with a small 'yep'.
"Love, you've won two oscars and was awarded of the best young actress award in 2013. Would you say that you have the best work ethic?" This made you think a bit because you definitely don't have the best one right now but it was alright and you were comfortable.
"I wouldn't say I have the best, I mean there are some times where it's the worst and there are also times where it worked in the most conventional way. I would just say I'm a workaholic." You explained it as best as you could making Stephanie nod a yes from behind the lie detector. This caused you to beam in excitement, you knew to yourself that you weren't lying and seeing that it was confirmed made you excited.
Seeing you excited made Aaron smile at you fondly. He always loved seeing you light up, it's one of the things that made his days brighter even on his worst days. He guesses that this lie detector test would help both of you gain more trust in each other in some way.
"Oh you are definitely a workaholic. Speaking of, the next question is are you a workaholic?" Aaron chuckled out when he saw you sarcastically roll your eyes.
"Duh? I just did a few moments ago."
"Truthful." Stephanie said making you smile at her.
"Next is, would you work with this person?" Aaron slid a photo of Ben Barnes to which you chuckled.
"Oh my god, not Benjamin!" You dramatically exclaimed as you saw the photo of your long time friend, to which everyone chuckled in amusement. "We've worked together multiple times, secretly. Though Aaron knows this because he's 'his brother from another mother' if you get what that reference means." You winked at the camera.
"Hey! We're supposed to keep Padfoot a secret, what would his banshee of a mother think of now?" Aaron playfully reprimanded you to which you laughed because you understood his joke quite well.
"James, you practically announced that he was living with you since we were teens." You deadpanned continuing the joke as your husband playfully glared at you.
"Everything she said is the truth." Stephanie said, making everyone watching gape as you both basically revealed the Sirius Black and James Potter fancasts are best friends to the point of barging in each other's homes like the Harry Potter characters.
Both you and your husband exchanged amused glances before continuing on with the questions.
"What do you think of this photo?" Aaron slid another photo of you and Sam Taylor smiling at the camera on the way to the Tony Awards.
"Aw, it's Sammy! This was probably one of my favorite photos because if it weren't for Sam, me and Aaron wouldn't be together to this day. Because fun fact, Sam was the one who kept trying to put us together whenever she could when we met each other in the film Kick-Ass. It also just happened that I was the love interest of Dave Lizewski so it kind of made her set on her 'matchmaking' as she calls it. She's like a mother to me, truly." You explained in fondness, it was true. The woman was not that very liked due to her marrying a way more younger man than her but behind all that, she was truly only a woman who loved to love. Her movies directed by her showed that.
Sam saw what you and Aaron had and wanted you to be able to experience the type of love she couldn't have when she was younger. A love that was shared with a pair at the same age or close to their age. Sam loved her husband who was 34 now but even she knew that it wouldn't last, she was 57 for god's sake. She knew she would end up divorced sooner or later and she wanted to see you end up with someone you love and is the same age, she didn't want you to end up like her. Because she truly thought of you as her daughter as well.
Aaron stared at you with the warmest and loving eyes you could ever see in a person. He was deeply in love with you and the viewers can see it, feel it. He knew that you loved talking about Sam, she became like a mother figure to him too. She was the one who he confided to whenever he was worried about making the wrong move towards you and he never once regretted asking her for help because he wouldn't be married to you if he did.
"Alright, love. Next question isâ" Aaron scoffed off a laugh threatening to burst out of his mouth when he read the question.
"What? What is it?" You asked worriedly to your husband who shook his head no before stuttering out the question.
"Do you believe the moon landing was fake?"
"What the fuck? What kind of question is that? No!" You voiced out in confusion. Of course you knew it was real! Right?
"Inconclusive." Stephanie hid a smile as she said this, the machine was indeed saying it was inconclusive.
Aaron bursted out of laughing as soon as he heard that.
"You think it was fake?" Your husband laughed out while smacking his thigh from amusement.
"No! I didn't until Stephanie put that in me!" You exclaimed as you looked absolutely repulsed and confused. Maybe this is rigged.
"Oh god, that is hilarious! I am never letting this go down, love." Aaron breathed out as he tried to compose himself. You on the other hand, covered your face with your hands in disbelief.
"Do you believe the earth is flat?"
"No!"
"Deceptive."
Another burst of laughter as well as a gasp of disbelief.
"You think the Earth's flat now?" Aaron was almost crying because of how entertaining this was. This was the best day of his life, one of them at least. "Let's try again, Do you think the Earth is flat?"
"No, the earth is round." You said, now much more calmer than before. This made Stephanie nod in confirmation that you were indeed telling the truth.
"I think you were still stuck with the moon landing, love."
"I was definitely still stuck there."
"Alright there is one more question before we switch." Aaron announced after a series of questions went by. You nodded and slightly adjusted in your seat.
"Do you love me?"
"Of course, I do, very much." You answered instantly and with a single nod from Stephanie, Aaron smiled softly at you to which you did the same.
"Why?" Aaron added making you pretend to think, which made him chuckle a bit.
"The right question for that is 'cuz, why not?" You said with a smile as your husband only raised a brow signalling you to elaborate.
"What's there not to love about you or yourself in general?" You said softly as you looked into his eyes with that same look that he has on his. Both of you stared at each other in silence. God, He thinks he just fell in love with you again. He thought as he took in your whole being in front of him.
"I don't knowâa lot, I guess?" He shrugged seemingly nonchalant but you knew better.
"Well I love them and love all of you." You said short and honestly. To which Stephanie nodded once again to confirm that what you said was true. The Lie detector professional knew she doesn't need to speak to confirm this so she settled with a simple nod like from before because she did not want to ruin this cute moment the soulmates were having. Yes, she thinks both of you are soulmates. Not everyone would look at their spouse like that even after getting married or spending time with each other.
"God fuckin' damn it, I think I just fell in love with you over and over again."

It felt like every step I took was echoing in my chest. The paddock hadnât changed muchâstill buzzing with energy, still filled with the scent of fuel, sunscreen, and over-priced espresso. But somehow, it all felt different this time. Maybe because I wasnât seventeen anymore, trailing behind Max like his shadow. Maybe because the ghosts of who I used to be were waiting for me around every corner.
Mick walked beside me, hands in his pockets, silent but steadyâlike he always was. I could feel the tension in his shoulders though. Protective older brother mode had been activated. Heâd barely let me breathe since I stepped off the plane yesterday.
âYou good?â he asked under his breath as we passed the Haas hospitality unit.
I gave him a small nod. âYeah. Itâs just⌠weird.â
He looked down at me. âWe donât have to stay long.â
I shook my head. âNo. I need to do this.â
And I did. For myself. For the girl who used to dream about these paddock walks and race weekends. For the version of me who had fallen in love here, and the one who had left with a broken heart still beating for someone who wasnât mine anymore.
The Ferrari garage was the first familiar refuge. Charles spotted us before we even reached the entrance and immediately pulled me into the kind of hug that squeezed the air out of my lungs.
âFinally,â he muttered into my hair. âWe missed you.â
âYou mean you missed me,â I teased, pulling back.
âNo, Lewis did too,â he said, smirking.
Right on cue, Lewis appeared like a vision in head-to-toe Ferrari gear, sunglasses on, arms open.
âLong time, Schumi,â he said warmly, enveloping me in a hug that made me feel eight years old again, watching him battle my dad on the track.
âYou two are being nice. Suspiciously nice,â I said with a raised eyebrow as Charles handed me a coffee.
âBecause you look like you havenât slept in a week and weâre trying not to scare you off,â Lewis said softly, his tone shifting. âYou okay?â
I wanted to lie. I always did. But something about standing there, surrounded by two people who knew, made it impossible.
âIâm here. Thatâs⌠something.â
Charles reached for my hand and gave it a squeeze. âYouâre stronger than you think.â
I wasnât so sure. Because every time someone looked over my shoulder, I felt my body braceâhoping, dreading, needing to see him. But he wasnât there. And that was worse.
After an hour or so, Mick and I wandered toward the McLaren garage, where we nearly bumped into Lando and his father, Adam.
âYN?â Lando grinned, eyes lighting up like a kid on Christmas. âHoly shit, youâre really here.â
I smiled. âIn the flesh.â
He pulled me into a quick hug and stepped back, looking me up and down like he was trying to process it.
âJesus, Max is gonnaââ He stopped himself, glancing at Mick. âNever mind.â
I forced a laugh, but my chest tightened.
Landoâs dad, Adam, stepped forward, all charm and warmth. âYou look so much like your mother,â he said with a soft smile. âItâs good to see you again.â
âYou too,â I replied, surprised by how sincere I felt.
We chatted for a few minutesâLando throwing in a few ridiculous jokes, Mick side-eyeing everyone like he was five seconds away from tackling anyone who so much as mentioned Maxâs or my Fatherâs name.
But even with all the friendly faces, the familiar laughter⌠there was still a hollow ache. Because I hadnât seen him. Because I wasnât sure I could handle it when I did. Max Verstappen had always been gravity to me. Even when I tried to fly away. I glanced across the paddock for the hundredth time, my eyes lingering on the empty stretch between the McLaren and Red Bull garages. He wasnât there. Not yet. But he would be. And when that moment came⌠I honestly didnât know whether Iâd fall apartâor fall back into him.
â
I thought Iâd escaped for the day. Lando and Mick had been playing their roles as protective older brothers- keeping me as far away from Max as possible. I stopped when I noticed a small girl appear next to me.
âMiss Schumacher?â
I turned, instinctively straightening my shoulders. The rep looked young. Nervous. Holding a tablet like a shield.
âI⌠uh, sorry to bother you,â she stammered. âBut⌠Max asked if you could⌠come by. Just for a few minutes.â
My heart fell into my stomach.
âNow?â I asked, voice tight.
She nodded. âHe said just⌠you. He didnât want to cause a scene.â
Landoâs eyes narrowed instantly. âShe doesnât owe him anythingââ
âItâs fine,â I cut in, my voice quiet. âIâll go.â
Lando looked ready to argue, but I gave him a look. One I hoped saidâPlease donât make this harder than it already is.
So I followed the Red Bull rep through the maze of motorhomes and hospitality tents, every step heavier than the last. My mind raced with possibilities. What would I say? What would he say? Would Kelly be there? Did he want to apologize? Or worseâsay goodbye? We stopped in front of a nondescript meeting room. The rep gestured to the door, then backed away. I hesitated. And then I opened it. It was silent inside. Cool. Dim. Just one chair pulled out at the table. A water bottle. And him. Max. He was standing with his back to me, facing the far wall, like he was afraid if he looked at me too soon, heâd break.
âMax?â I said, voice barely above a whisper.
He turned slowly. And the second our eyes met, it felt like everything inside me cracked open. He looked tired. Not physicallyâbut in that way you only get when youâve been carrying something for too long. His eyesâstill impossibly blueâheld something I wasnât ready for. Relief. Pain. Love.
âI wasnât sure youâd come,â he said softly.
âI wasnât sure I should,â I replied.
Silence settled between us like a storm cloud.
âI didnât know how to do this,â he admitted, stepping closer. âI thought maybe if I just⌠saw you. If I could look at you again and remember how to breatheâmaybe I could finally say everything I never did.â
My hands curled into fists at my sides. âThen say it.â
He swallowed hard, eyes never leaving mine. âIâm sorry. For letting you go. For not fighting harder. For pretending I could ever love someone else the same way.â
My chest tightened. âYou didnât pretend very well.â
Maxâs eyes closed for a second, like the truth physically hurt.
âI thought I was doing the right thing,â he said. âYou were modeling in Milan, Paris, New York. You were becoming you, and I didnât want to be the reason you held back. And then Kelly came into my life, andââ
âYou fell in love with her,â I whispered.
âI did,â he said honestly. âBut I never stopped loving you.â
A single tear slipped down my cheek before I could stop it. Max stepped forward instinctively, but paused like he didnât know if he still had the right.
âYou were everywhere,â I said. âEvery man I dated. Every time I stood in front of a camera and tried to smile. You were always in the room, even when you werenât. And she knew, didnât she?â
He nodded. âKellyâs smarter than Iâll ever be. She never asked me to stop loving you. She just⌠hoped I could figure it out.â
âAnd did you?â
âI did the second I saw you again,â he whispered. âI never really stopped being yours, YN.â
The silence between us stretched. Painful. Beautiful. I took a step forward.
âYou broke my heart,â I said.
âI know.â
âAnd I donât trust you.â
âI donât blame you.â
âBut I still love you.â
He breathed in sharply. Like heâd been holding his breath for years and finally exhaled.
âThen let me try,â he said. âNot to erase the past. Just⌠to prove Iâm worth a future.â
I didnât answer. But I didnât leave. And when he finally reached for my hand, I let him. Because maybe love didnât need to be perfect. Maybe it just needed to survive long enough to come home.
â
I left before he could say anything else. Before I could change my mind. Before my heart betrayed me more than it already had. My fingers trembled as I opened the door and stepped into the sunlight, everything suddenly too loudâtoo sharp. The weight of Maxâs words still clung to my skin like smoke. My chest was tight, lungs refusing to work properly as I wove through the paddock. I shouldnât have come. I shouldnât have let him say all those things. And I sure as hell shouldnât have let myself believe, even for a second, that we could rewrite a story already written in ink. Because Kelly still existed. And she wasnât a footnote. She was a chapter he chose. Even if he claimed he never stopped loving meâhe didnât stop loving her either. And I couldnât live with being the person who cracked something that hadnât even shattered yet. A sob escaped my throat as I ducked behind one of the trailers, pressing my hand to my mouth. I didnât want anyone to see me like this. Especially not here. Not in this place, where strength was currency and weakness became headlines.
âYN?â
I froze.
And then a beat laterâ
âYN.â
Mick.
I wiped at my face furiously, turning just as he rounded the corner, worry etched deep into every line of his expression. His gaze swept over meâred eyes, trembling hands, broken postureâand something in him snapped.
âWho do I need to kill?â
I laughed. It was wet, bitter, short-lived.
âNo one,â I croaked. âNot yet, anyway.â
He stepped closer, lowering his voice. âWhat happened? Did someone say something to you? Was it Max?â
I looked away, which told him everything he needed to know.
âOh, for fuckâs sake,â he muttered, jaw locking. âI told Lando to keep him away. I told himââ
âIt wasnât Landoâs fault. Max asked for me. I thought I could handle it,â I said quietly. âBut I was wrong.â
Mickâs expression softened just slightly, but the tension didnât leave his shoulders. He was vibrating with furyâprotective, sharp-edged fury that only brothers were capable of.
âHe hurt you again?â
âNo,â I whispered. âThatâs the worst part. He told me everything I ever wanted to hear.â
Mick blinked. âSoâŚ?â
âSo I canât ruin what he has with Kelly. I wonât.â
âAre you serious?â he snapped. âYouâre sobbing behind a trailer and heâs walking around with two womenâs hearts in his hands. You think youâre the villain in this story?â
âI think Iâm the only one trying not to be selfish.â
Mick exhaled hard, dragging a hand through his hair. âYou always do that. You put everyone elseâs happiness ahead of your own. Even when it kills you.â
âIâd rather break myself than break them,â I said, voice barely audible.
He stared at me for a long moment. âThatâs not love, YN. Thatâs martyrdom.â
I didnât answer. I couldnât. Because maybe I was the villain. Or the coward. Or maybe just the girl who never stopped loving someone she was never supposed to belong to. Mick pulled me into a hug, and for the first time all day, I let myself fall apart in someone elseâs arms.
âIâve got you,â he murmured into my hair. âEven when he doesnât.â
And I clung to that. Because right now, it was the only truth I had.
â
The house was too quiet. The kind of quiet that made your ears ring. That made your thoughts too loud. Iâd been pacing the same living room floor for nearly an hour, hands twisting the hem of one of Mickâs old hoodies Iâd stolen years ago. I hadnât turned on the lights. I didnât want brightness. I didnât want clarity. I wanted to disappear into the dark and pretend I didnât still feel Maxâs voice in my bones.Â
I didnât mean to call. My fingers just moved. Like muscle memory. The way they always did when everything got too much. The phone only rang once before he picked up.
âLiebling?â Sebastianâs voice cracked something wide open in me.
âHi,â I said, trying to sound normal.
I failed. I always failed with him. And maybe thatâs why I loved him so much.
âTell me whatâs wrong,â he said gently, like he was already sitting next to me with a cup of tea and that soft little crease in his brow.
âI saw Max today,â I whispered.
Silence. And then a soft, steady breath on the other end. âAh.â
I sat on the couch, pulling my knees to my chest. âHe told me he never stopped loving me.â
Sebastian didnât speak.
âHe said⌠he loves her too. But that he was always mine first. And part of me wanted to believe it so badly. Part of me wanted to run straight into his arms and pretend it would be enough this time. But I couldnât. I just⌠couldnât.â
âI know,â he said softly. âOf course you couldnât.â
âI wanted to,â I admitted. âGod, I wanted to. But sheâs good. Sheâs kind. And Iâm not selfish enough to shatter her life just to glue mine back together.â
âYNâŚâ His voice was so heartbreakingly gentle. âYou think loving someone that deeply is selfish?â
âI think trying to take him back when he already belongs to someone else would be.â
âYouâre not trying to take anything,â he said. âYouâre just trying to feel, and thatâs not a crime. Youâre allowed to want things, even if they hurt.â
I swallowed the lump in my throat. âWhat if Iâm always the one hurting?â
âYou wonât be,â he promised. âNot forever. You are not someone people forget, YN. Youâre someone people carry with themâlike a compass. Like a melody they canât get out of their head.â
âEven Max?â
He didnât hesitate. âEspecially Max.â
Tears slipped down my cheeks again. I didnât even try to wipe them.
âIâm tired, Seb,â I whispered.
âI know you are, Schatz.â
There was a pause. And then, âYour dad wouldâve told you to kick Max in the shins and then make him work for it.â
I laughed through the tears, chest aching with the sound. âYouâre not wrong.â
âAnd Iâm telling you,â he said firmly now, âthat you donât owe anyone anything. Not even him. You just owe yourself the grace to heal.â
I closed my eyes and let his words sink into me like sunlight on skin.
âI miss you,â I said.
âI miss you too,â he replied. âNow go drink some tea, take a long shower, and text me when youâre safely in bed. Or I will call Mick and ask him to camp out on your floor like youâre twelve again.â
I smiled for the first time in hours. âFine. Bossy.â
âOnly because I love you.â
âI love you too, Seb.â
And when we hung up, I sat in the quiet again. But this time⌠it didnât feel so heavy.

third person povÂ
Kelly Piquet wasnât blind. She had always known that YN Schumacher was more than just a chapter in Maxâs life. She wasnât even a past tense. YN was a pulse. A thread running beneath everything. And today, when Max came back from the Red Bull motorhome quieter than usualâless like a man, more like a ghostâKelly didnât need to ask what had happened. She just knew. He didnât speak when she walked into the room. His shoulders were hunched, fingers interlaced tightly, jaw ticking like he was holding his breath. It was the most unsettled sheâd seen him in a long time. She took a seat across from him on the couch, crossed one leg over the other, and tilted her head thoughtfully. No fire. No ice. Just the cool, unreadable stillness that came with already knowing the answer.
âYou saw her,â she said softly.
Max glanced up. âYeah.â
Kelly smiledâsmall, but not unkind. âAnd?â
âI told her I never stopped loving her.â
A beat of silence. Kelly nodded like sheâd been expecting it. âAnd she?â
âShe left. In tears. Said she didnât want to ruin what you and I have.â
âAh,â Kelly hummed. âVery her.â
Maxâs brow furrowed. âYouâre not⌠mad?â
Kellyâs laugh was quiet and almost amused. âNo, Max. Iâm not mad.â
âBut Iââ
âYou love her,â she said plainly. âYou have for a long time. You tried to bury it. I tried to ignore it. But it was always there, wasnât it?â
He didnât answer. He didnât need to. Kelly leaned back into the couch, her gaze steady. âI always knew you were hers. Not because you didnât love me, but because there was a part of you I never had. And I donât want to be with someone who still belongs to someone else, even if theyâre too scared to say it out loud.â
Max swallowed hard, throat tight. âI didnât mean for any of this to happen.â
âOf course you didnât,â she said with a shrug. âBut love doesnât ask for permission. It just shows up and wrecks the room.â
She stood slowly, graceful as ever, and moved to the window, looking out at the paddock. âYou know what I think?â she asked.
He looked at her cautiously. âWhat?â
âI think you two are too damn stubborn for your own good. Sheâs busy trying not to hurt me, and youâre busy trying not to hurt anyone, and in the meantime, youâre both bleeding out for no reason.â
He blinked.Â
Kelly smiled, just a little. âMax. Be honest about what you feel. Iâm not walking away over the truth.â
Max blinked, uncertain. âYouâre⌠staying?â
âI didnât say Iâd stay forever,â she replied calmly. âBut Iâm not going to run just because your heart is messy. People are messy. And Iâve always known part of you belonged to her.â
She walked over and touched his armâlight, controlled, nothing desperate in the gesture.
âI didnât fall for you expecting neat and easy,â she said. âAnd Iâm not afraid of history, Max. Iâm afraid of silence. Of pretending. So donât lie to me. Donât lie to yourself.â
Max looked down at her, guilt tightening his features. âI donât want to hurt you.â
âAnd yet youâre doing it anyway,â Kelly said softly. âNot with YN. But with how long youâve been pretending sheâs not in every room with us.â
He exhaled, almost broken. Kellyâs fingers curled gently around his. âSo hereâs what weâre going to do. Youâre going to take a breath. Youâre going to stop spiraling. And weâre going to figure this out together. Like grown-ups. Not like the scared kid you were when we started this.â
âYouâre okay with me loving her?â Max asked, voice raw.
âNot necessarily,â Kelly said, with a dry smile. âBut Iâm okay with the truth. Because if thereâs any chance you can close that doorâwith clarity, not confusionâthen I want you to do it.â
âAnd if I canât?â he whispered.
Kellyâs expression didnât flicker.
âThen weâll decide what that means. But not like this. Not in guilt. Not in chaos. We donât end like that.â
Max stared at her, the weight of everything between them heavier than ever. And yet⌠her steadiness grounded him.
Kelly leaned in, kissed his cheek, and whispered, âGo to her, Max. But do it with your eyes open. And come back to me with answers. Not ghosts.â
She stepped back, still looking at him like she knew exactly what this meant. Like sheâd already done the math. And she wasnât afraid of the result.

your pov
I wasnât expecting anyone. The day had been longâemotionally draining in that slow, silent kind of way that made your chest ache without reason. Iâd finally let myself unwind: hoodie on, hair wet, popcorn in hand, and some random Formula E replay humming in the background just loud enough to distract my brain from wandering back to Max. Always Max. So when the knock came, soft and polite but firm, I froze. No one knocked like that unless they were very sure of what they wanted. I set the popcorn down and padded barefoot to the door, a strange sense of dĂŠjĂ vu tightening in my stomach. I opened itâAnd there she was. Kelly.
Elegant, poised, unreadable. Standing at my door like she belonged there, like this wasnât the weirdest, most emotionally charged fever dream of a moment I could imagine.
âHi,â she said softly. âI hope Iâm not interrupting anything.â
She looked perfect, of course. Calm and expensive and untouched by the kind of spiral Iâd been living in since I left Max in that room. Meanwhile, I was in yesterdayâs sweats and a hoodie with a small tear in the sleeve.
Still, I stepped back. âUm⌠no. Do you⌠want to come in?â
âOnly if youâre comfortable with that,â she said gently, already scanning the inside of my flat like she was taking mental notes. âI just wanted to talk.â
Something inside me said donât, but I nodded anyway. âSure.â
She walked in slowly, like she was floating. There was no tension in her body, no anger. That, somehow, was worse. Kelly didnât sit. She wandered. Paused at the framed photo of Mick and me as kids. Glanced at the cluttered bookshelf. Her eyes lingered on a little trinket Max had given me when we were seventeen. I felt suddenly exposed. Like I hadnât cleaned up enough, like I hadnât guarded enough. Finally, she turned to face me.
âIâve wanted to meet you properly for a long time,â she said, voice low and even.
I frowned, unsure if I should sit or stand or melt into the floor. âWhy now?â
Her smile was small, soft, and far too knowing. âBecause now Iâve seen the way he looks at you.â
My stomach dropped.
âIâd rather understand than pretend,â she added.
I looked down, heart thudding uncomfortably. âI never wanted to come between you and Max.â
âI believe you,â Kelly said, stepping closer, her tone kind. Not warm, exactly. But kind. âThatâs part of why Iâm here.â
I didnât know what to say. I felt like I was being dissectedâbut politely. Elegantly.
She studied me for a moment longer. âHeâs loved you for a long time. But that doesnât scare me.â
I blinked. âIt doesnât?â
âNo,â she said. âBecause love isnât a contest. Itâs a conversation. And Iâm not here to fight you, YN.â
She smiled thenâsoft, almost affectionate.
âIâm here to get to know you.â
I couldnât stop staring at her. âWhy?â
âBecause if youâre going to keep holding pieces of the man I love⌠Iâd like to know whose hands theyâre in.â
Silence. Then Kelly tilted her head, calm as ever. âDinner?â
My eyes widened. âDinner?â
âJust the two of us,â she said, voice velvet-smooth. âNothing dramatic. Iâll even let you pick the place.â
I didnât answer right away. I wasnât sure I could. Because somehow, Kelly Piquet inviting me to dinner was more terrifying than if she had shown up screaming. And yet⌠I nodded. Because a part of me needed to understand her too. And maybeâjust maybeâI wanted to see what game she was playing. If it was a game at all.
â
I thought she might cancel. Some part of me assumed the invitation would vanish like a mirage. That sheâd come to her senses and realize sitting down to dinner with her boyfriendâs once upon a timeâand possibly stillâin love with him ex girlfriend was a terrible idea. But she didnât cancel. She showed up exactly on time. She wore a silky black blouse and dark-wash jeans that looked like they belonged in a Vogue editorial. Her hair was up in that effortless twist. Her earrings were small but sparkling, and her perfume smelled like money, like memory, like danger. I wore something neutral. Simple. Something I wouldnât regret.
The restaurant was quiet, tucked into a leafy corner of Monaco with candles on every table and linen napkins that made me feel like I should whisper. We got a corner booth, far from prying eyes. The hostess looked at us like she recognized both our faces, but said nothing. Kelly ordered red wine. I didnât. We didnât speak at first. Just sat across from each other, quietly flipping through menus that neither of us were really reading.
âI wasnât sure youâd come,â I said finally, forcing my voice not to shake.
Kelly glanced up, amused. âI wasnât sure about you, either.â
I smiled despite myself. âYouâre not what I expected.â
She raised an eyebrow. âWhat did you expect? Cold? Cruel?â
âMaybe. Or passive-aggressive.â
She chuckled softly. âIâm sure Iâve had my moments.â
Silence again. But it wasnât tense. Not exactly. It felt like a game of chess, where every word was a move and every glance had weight.
âI meant what I said,â she said quietly, tracing her finger along the stem of her wine glass. âIâm not here to accuse you. Iâm here because I wanted to know you.â
I nodded. âAnd what do you think so far?â
Kelly tilted her head. âYouâre beautiful. Smarter than people probably give you credit for. And guarded as hell.â
My breath caught.
She smiled like sheâd won something. âDid I lie?â
âNo,â I admitted. âI just didnât expect you to be soâŚâ
âDisarming?â she offered.
âCharming,â I said instead.
We ordered food we wouldnât finish. We talked more than I expected. She asked about modeling, about growing up with Mick, about my father. And when she listenedâreally listenedâit felt like standing under warm light in a room I didnât realize had been cold.
âYou miss him,â she said gently after I mentioned Michael. âYour father. How he was before.âÂ
I blinked back the sudden sting. âEvery day.â
She reached across the table then, without hesitation, and touched my hand. It was a small gesture. But it undid me.
âYou donât have to be brave with me,â she said. âI know what itâs like to lose someone and pretend youâre fine. You donât have to do that here.â
I didnât answer. I just let her hold my hand a moment longer than polite. And when I looked up, her expression had softened in a way that made my chest ache. There was something else in her eyes now. Not pity. Not suspicion. Curiosity. Admiration. Want. The shift was subtleâbut it was there.
âI thought you hated me,â I whispered.
She laughed under her breath. âI tried. Youâre incredibly hard to hate.â
I swallowed, pulse picking up. âYou flirt like someone who shouldnât be flirting.â
She leaned in slightly. âAnd you blush like someone whoâs not sure if they want me to stop.â
My breath hitched. The air between us was suddenly electricâquiet, private, dangerous. I didnât know what to say. Maybe there wasnât anything to say.
She let the moment linger, then pulled back with a smile like a secret. âIâm not trying to confuse you, YN.â
âYouâre doing it anyway.â
Kelly nodded, her eyes still fixed on mine. âI think Iâm confusing myself, too.â
We sat in silence again, but this time it hummed. Like something new was being built from the ruins of something old. At the end of the night, when we stood from the table and the waiter brought the check, she paid without hesitation.
âYou didnât have to do that,â I said, half-laughing.
âI wanted to,â she replied. Then, a pause. âI want a lot of things lately.â
She didnât elaborate. But as we stepped outside into the cool Monaco air and she walked me to my car, she touched my arm and looked at me with that calm, careful intensity again.
âThis isnât over,â she said softly. âI donât mean you and Max. I mean⌠this.â
My throat tightened. âThis?â
âYou and me.â
Then she smiled, kissed my cheek like it was the most natural thing in the world, and turned on her heel, disappearing into the night like a storm that hadnât hit yet. And I just stood there, hand pressed to my face, wondering if Iâd just walked into a whole new kind of chaos. And if I wanted to.

f1gossipgirls : Well⌠this was not on our 2025 bingo card. In a twist that no one couldâve predicted, YN Schumacher and Kelly Piquet were spotted having dinner together in Monaco tonightâyes, that Kelly (Maxâs current girlfriend) and that YN (his very unforgettable ex). Sources say the two looked remarkably closeâsmiles, soft touches, deep conversation. No tension, no drama⌠just chemistry? đ If you somehow missed the historyâ YN and Max were childhood sweethearts turned teenage lovers, and Kelly is his long-term partner now. So what exactly does this dinner mean? We have so many questions. Thoughts? Theories? Prayers? Because weâre not sure the paddock is ready for whatever this is.Â

Max was sitting on the couch when Kelly walked inâphone still in his hand, screen dimming from the dozens of notifications he hadnât stopped scrolling through. He didnât say anything at first. Just looked at her with that quiet, burning confusion he always got when something mattered too much.
Kelly set her purse down gently. âYou saw?â
Max blinked once. âHard to miss when the entire internet is screaming about it.â
She didnât flinch. Didnât look guilty. Just⌠calm. Collected. Like she had expected this. Max stood slowly. âYou went to dinner with her.â
âI did.â
His jaw tensed. âWithout telling me.â
Kelly took a step closer. âWould you have let me go if I had?â
He didnât answer. Just stared at her like she was some puzzle he couldnât figure out. A book in a language he used to know by heart and had forgotten somewhere along the way.
âI justââ Max ran a hand through his hair. âWhat was that, Kelly? What are you doing?â
She met his eyes, steady. âIâm getting to know her.â
He blinked, breath catching.
âAnd?â he asked, voice softer, almost a whisper.
Kelly tilted her head, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. âI think I like her.â
And then she walked past himâunbothered, barefoot, and humming lightly under her breath as if this was the most natural thing in the world. Leaving Max standing there, stunned and still very, very unsure of what was happening. Or what was coming next.

I donât know what I expected when Kelly invited me over. I didnât ask questions. I didnât overanalyze the way her voice softened when she said, âJust come. Iâll cook.â I didnât let myself spiral over the fact that Max would be there. I told myself it was just dinner. Casual. Harmless. But nothing about this situation has ever been harmless. Kelly and I had been together nonstop these last few weeks, both of us catching feelings for each other while we were both still tied to him. The elevator ride up to their apartment felt longer than it shouldâve. My reflection in the mirrored walls betrayed every emotion I was trying to suppressâhope, nerves, the tight pull of guilt blooming in my chest. Kelly opened the door barefoot, her hair up in a loose bun, wearing one of those effortless silk dresses she somehow always made look regal. She smiled when she saw meâgenuine, like sheâd been waiting all day.
âHi,â she said, and I swear to God, it hit me like a wave every single time.
âHi,â I managed.
The apartment smelled like garlic and lemon and something faintly sweet. Jazz played softly in the background. There were candles on the table. And Max. He was standing by the kitchen counter, sleeves rolled up, drink in hand. Still, still Max. Same unreadable expression, same quiet intensity. His eyes found mine the second I stepped inside, and for a moment, it felt like we were sixteen again, hiding from the world and pretending time wasnât running out.
âHey,â he said, and it was soft. Almost unsure.
I nodded. âHey.â
We sat. We ate. The food was goodâof course it was, Kelly was good at everything. She carried the conversation with grace, like she knew we were both choking on everything we werenât saying. Max barely looked at me. I tried to ignore the way it stung. The night wore on like slow honey. Heavy. Sticky. And then, somewhere between wine and dessert, Kelly stood up. She rested a hand on my shoulder, light and lingering, and turned to Max with that careful, pointed look I was learning meant more than she ever let on.
âIâm going to step out for a bit,â she said. âMaxâŚâ
She waited. Waited for him to meet her eyes. Then she glanced at me, smiled almost bittersweet, and said, âI know my feelings for her. You tell her yours.â
And just like that, she walked out. Left me alone with the boy I loved before I even knew what love was. Max stared at the table for a long time. He didnât speak. Neither did I. The silence between us was loud enough to drown out the music still playing from the speakers. I could feel my pulse in my throat. Finally, he looked up.
âDo you ever think,â he started, voice hoarse, âthat maybe we werenât supposed to end?â
It was a whisper. A fracture in time.
I blinked. âAll the time.â
He swallowed hard. âWhen I saw you again⌠in the paddock⌠it felt like I was breathing for the first time in years.â
I could feel tears rising, but I refused to let them fall.
âThen why didnât you say anything?â
âBecause I thought I didnât deserve to. I have Kelly. I had you. And somehow I lost both.â
He stood slowly, walked around the table, and stopped just short of me. I didnât move.
âKelly knows how I feel,â he said, voice low. âShe always has. But this⌠you and her⌠itâs real, isnât it?â
I nodded. âI didnât mean for it to be. I didnât plan it. But itâs⌠safe. And warm. And she sees me.â
He stepped closer, so close I could feel the heat radiating off his skin. My breath hitched.
âSo did I,â he whispered.
I looked up at him, and for the first time in years, I let myself truly see him. Not the world champion. Not the headlines. Just Max. Just my Max.
âI still do,â he said, eyes searching mine.
And before I could speak, before I could stop it or brace for itâhe leaned in. And kissed me. It wasnât gentle. It wasnât cautious. It was everything we had buried. Everything we had swallowed for the sake of time and timing and other people. His hands came up to cradle my face like he was terrified Iâd disappear. Like heâd waited years for this one breath, this one second, this one sliver of a chance to rewrite history. I kissed him back. Because Iâd never stopped loving him. Because the ache had never left. Because nothing in the world had ever felt more rightâor more wrongâand I couldnât bring myself to care.
When we finally pulled apart, our foreheads rested together, breathing hard, hearts pounding in sync.
âI never stopped,â he whispered. âNot once.â
And neither did I. But I couldnât say it. Not yet. Because I had feelings for Kelly too.
â
The kiss still lingered on my lips like a bruise. Max hadnât moved, and neither had I. We stood there, pressed together by years of longing and guilt, by feelings weâd never buried deep enough. Our foreheads still touched, our breathing still uneven, our hands still unsure of what came next. I didnât know how long we stood there. But the sound of the front door opening was like a needle to a bubble. Max pulled back just enough to look at meâeyes wide, like heâd just remembered Kelly existed. Like weâd both forgotten. And then she walked in.
Her feet padded gently against the floor, the scent of her perfume curling through the air before she even appeared fully in the doorway. Calm, composed, radiant. She looked between us, one hand still on the doorknob, expression unreadable. Max took a step back. My stomach dropped. My mouth opened.
âKellyââ
She tilted her head, eyes flicking to me. âSo⌠Iâm assuming you kissed.â
Neither of us responded. She smiled like it wasnât a surprise.
âGood.â
That caught me off guard. I blinked. âYouâre not mad?â
She walked toward us slowly, like this was all happening exactly as sheâd expected. Her coat slid off her shoulders and onto a chair. She crossed the room, graceful and unbothered, until she was standing just a breath away.
âNo,â she said simply. âWhy would I be?â
I swallowed, heat crawling up my neck. âBecause I kissed your boyfriend.â
âMy boyfriend,â she repeated gently, âhas been in love with you since we met. I was never going to compete with that.â
She turned to Max. âAnd youâŚâ her voice softened, âyouâve loved her longer than youâve known what love even was.â
Max didnât deny it. And I couldnât breathe.
âBut you love him,â I said, voice cracking. âYou love him and Iââ I hesitated, my chest tightening. âI love him too. But I also think I⌠I might be falling for you. And I donât know what to do with that.â
There. It was out. Everything. Kelly stared at me for a long moment. The kind of moment where time felt suspended. Then she laughed. Soft and real. Her whole face lit up.
âDarling,â she said, stepping closer and brushing a strand of hair behind my ear, âthat was my plan all along.â
I froze. âWhat?â
âI invited you to dinner that first night knowing what would happen. I knew Max would see you and remember everything he tried to bury. And I knew I would see you andâŚâ She paused, her fingers lingering on my jaw now, eyes impossibly gentle. âI knew I wouldnât be able to stop myself.â
I stared at her. âBut why?â
She smiled. âBecause loving one of you was never enough.â
Max was silent behind me, but I felt his presence like a pulse.
Kelly looked between us. âI love him. And Iâm in love with you. And you twoâGod, the way you look at each otherâŚâ She shook her head, her voice a whisper now. âYouâre everything I want. Both of you.â
My breath hitched. I looked at Max. He was watching Kelly like sheâd just rearranged his entire world. Then his eyes met mine againâso full of emotion it made my knees weak.
âI donât know how to do this,â I admitted, voice shaking. âBut I donât want to lose either of you.â
Kelly stepped forward, wrapping her arms around me. I melted into her like it was second nature. Max joined us a moment later, one arm around my waist, the other slipping around Kellyâs back. The three of us stood there, tangled together, no longer pretending. Kellyâs voice was the last thing I heard before the tears finally slipped free.
âThen we donât have to choose. Not anymore.â

It was early. Not racing weekend early. Just Mexico early. The kind where the sunlight peeked through the gauzy curtains like it was shy, and the only sound was the ocean humming in the distance and the ceiling fan ticking lazily overhead.I was the first one to wake up. Or at least I thought I was, until I shifted and felt Maxâs arm tighten around my waist, pulling me back into him with a sleepy groan.
âYouâre not allowed to move yet,â he murmured into the back of my neck. âVacation rule.â
I laughed softly. âWhat if I have to pee?â
âHold it,â Kellyâs voice came from the other side of the bed, muffled by a pillow. âOr take me with you.â
I twisted around just enough to look between them. Maxâs hair was a mess, falling into his eyes. Kelly had one leg slung dramatically over both of us, her silk sleep shirt barely hanging onto one shoulder. We looked like a tangle of limbs and tangled hearts.
âOkay,â I whispered, smiling, ânew rule...no one moves unless itâs for coffee or kisses.â
Kelly rolled over to face me, eyes still half-lidded. âMmm. Iâll take a kiss.â
I leaned in, pressing a soft one to the corner of her mouth. She smiled lazily, caught my jaw with her hand, and pulled me in for anotherâlonger, warmer. Familiar now, but never dull. Max made a sound somewhere between a growl and a sigh behind me.
âNot fair.â
âThen come here, Verstappen,â Kelly said, still grinning, reaching past me to grab at his face.
He kissed her over my shoulder, then kissed me. We were all laughing through itâquiet and content and stupidly in love. Later, we finally rolled out of bedâonly because Kelly threatened to starve if we didnât. Max cooked breakfast shirtless in the outdoor kitchen, and I swear the man did it just to show off. He burned the eggs slightly, but I didnât care. He looked happy. So did she. We ate on the patio with our feet propped up on each otherâs chairs. I took a picture of Max feeding Kelly a bite of fruit, her sunglasses perched on her head, her mouth open in a fake gasp like she was being spoiled.
âIâm posting this,â I warned.
âYou wouldnât dare,â Kelly teased.
âI absolutely would.â
Later that afternoon, we took a boat out. Max drove it like he was qualifying. Kelly kept yelling at him in a mix of Portuguese and English, her arms flailing wildly, laughing too hard to be mad. I held on for dear life, screaming until Max slowed down just to shut us up with kisses and apologies.
There was a momentâjust oneâwhen the sun was setting, and the three of us sat in silence at the front of the boat. Max had his arm draped over my shoulders, Kellyâs head rested on my lap. The sky was painted in impossible shades of gold and coral. And all I could think was:
This is the kind of love you never plan for. The kind that breaks every rule, but fits anyway. The kind you fight for. The kind you stay for.
Kelly looked up at me then, eyes glowing in the sun, and whispered, âYou look happy.â
I smiled, fingers brushing through her hair. âI am.â
Max kissed the top of my head. âWe all are.â
And for once, it wasnât complicated. It was just us. Exactly where we were supposed to be.

"Hi sweetheart."
Aaron's eyes rose as you entered his office, before returning to the files laid atop his desktop, a paper in his right hand. His stare had lingered momentarily, so he noticed the bag in your hand. "Heading out?"
"Yup, gotta pick up Jack." You replied, hoping you sounded somewhat normal, given your current circumstances. You felt as if your voice was borderline squeaky, in that attempt to remain normal, while also resisting the urge to bounce on your toes. "You coming with?"
On another note, you were so incredibly thankful to be leaving early; overwhelmed with nausea, back pain, fatigue. Ginger ale had been within arm's reach all day, an achingly long day. Laying in bed had never sounded more appealing.
"No, I wish I could. There's a few consults I need to look over before tomorrow. It shouldn't take too long, though." He got up, inching towards you, "I can, however, spare some time for you."
Your nose scrunched in amusement, leaning up to peck his lips, "You're too good to me."
He chased your lips, murmuring into the kiss with a soft smirk and teasing you right back, "I do try."
After the two of you pulled away (and a whistle echoed outside from a passing Derek Morgan), you toyed with his tie, smoothing it cleanly against his torso. "Don't stay too late, okay?"
"I won't." Aaron kissed you once, twice more before retreating back to his desk. He held onto your hand for as long as possible, causing it to fall gracefully to your side. "I'll be home before dinner, I promise."
Instead of leaving, all you could do was stand there; staring at him, completely giddy. The secret you held, it made you feel a whole new kind of love when you looked at him. The father of your unborn child, the perfect addition to your family. A new love you had created together.
Aaron's gaze lifted, catching you ogling him, a confused smile forming on his face. "What?"
"Oh, nothing. Nothing at all." You shrugged, forcing your feet towards the door. "I'll see you at home."
His eyes narrowed suspiciously, playfully. He absolutely didn't buy it. "Okay, drive safe."
-
"Hi." Jack greeted, climbing into the backseat and shutting the door behind him. He struggled the smallest amount, his backpack weighing him down.
"Hey Jackers," You twisted behind, offering a warm smile, "have a good day?"
"Yeah." He verified, and left it at that. He simply settled in, buckling up.
While you had thought you were the one being strange, he was definitely more so. As you took the route home, he remained quiet in the back, rather than being his usual talkative, wanting-to-tell-you-everything-about-his-day self. You peered at him in the rearview, observing him.
He didn't look pale, so hopefully he wasn't coming down with something. He didn't seem upset - his eyebrows always pinched together in worry when he was. Even this morning during breakfast for instance, he seemed far away, off in his own world. If you didn't know any better, he looked on edge, but in a jittery, seemingly excited way. Antsy, and oddly familiar.
"You okay?"
Jack nodded, keeping his eyes out the window. His absorbed expression indicated the gears continuing to turn in his mind.
"Did something happen today? You're awfully quiet."
"I have a question."
You stopped the car, arriving home, turning around in your seat again to fully look at him. "You know you can ask me anything. Whatever's on your mind, nothing's off limit."
His eyes lit up, hopeful yet quizzical. He quietly and timidly asked, "Am I getting a baby brother or sister?"
You blinked at him, surprised, as that was the last thing you expected to come out of his mouth. But you couldn't stop the small smile tugging its way onto your face. Not only because you were happy, of course, but you also didn't want him thinking he had done something wrong. "What makes you ask that?"
"I wasn't snooping, I promise. I went into your bathroom to look for some floss - Dad said I could, said it was in the top left drawer - and I saw it, it said pregnant. But I didn't mean to see, I swear."
Your expression softened sweetly, a gentle laugh escaping you too, "It's okay buddy, that's completely on me. I didn't do a very good job of concealing it at all."
An adorable, boyish smile pulled at his lips, the words leaving him shyly. He could infer the answer, but he needed the actual confirmation. "So... am I?"
After a moment's silence, letting the suspense linger, you confirmed, your heart bursting as you did. "You are."
"Yes!" He nearly shouted, immediately unbuckling his seatbelt and throwing his arms around you, as much as he could with the obstacle of the driver's seat. His arms mainly reached around your neck.
You laughed gleefully, your hands raising to his arms, squeezing them gently - a makeshift hug for the meantime. Tears dared to spill down your cheeks, overwhelmed with emotion.
He released the embrace, sobering for a moment and the realization beginning to fully set in. "I'm really getting a sister?"
"It could be a boy too." You arched a brow, grinning.
"Yeah," he matched your smile, buzzing with happiness. "And I'd love that too. But, I think it's gonna be a girl."
"Well, we'll just have to wait and see." You shrugged coyly, "It's still quite early, so we won't be able to find out for a couple weeks."
"Weeks?" He whined painfully, but it faded as fast as it had appeared. "I'm so excited. I can't wait."
"You wanna know something else?" He nodded profusely. "You're the only one who knows."
Jack's eyes brightened more if it were possible, in both exhilaration and shock. "Seriously?!"
For the meantime, it was a special secret, shared just between the two of you. You could've sobbed right there, between his genuine sweetness and excitement. And the hormones.
Regardless, he was going to be the best big brother.
"Dad doesn't know?"
"Not yet. I was brainstorming how to tell him, how to tell you, but you were just too quick for me." You flashed him a teasing grin. "That means you have to help me come up with a fun way to tell him, and quick, because I think he's onto me. Deal?"
Jack held out his pinky, interlocking it with yours. "Deal."

Trash Novel Chronicles: I'd Rather Date the Male Lead's Dad - Lilia Vanrouge x reader
When you end up in your best friend's favourite but absurd novel about breaking a fae prince's curse, you didn't expect to get attached to his little family too. Even more unexpected? You fell for the male lead's dad, but hey it looks like he likes you too.
Series Masterlist
You love your best friend. You really, really do. But sometimesâsometimesâthe things they drag you into make you question your life choices. This time? Itâs a novel. A bad one.
The plot is borderline unreadable, but somehow, itâs now your problem. Because of course it is.
âSo, listen,â your friend had said, waving the book around like it was some kind of literary masterpiece. âMalleus Draconia, the fae prince, is cursedâchained up in this forest. The curse can only be broken by someone who isnât attracted to him. But hereâs the kicker: heâs so hot that no one can break the curse. For ten years.â
âUh-huh.â Youâd nodded along, already feeling your brain cells start to wave white flags of surrender. But your friend continued.
âThe main character stumbles upon him after years of drama and frees him because theyâre the only one not drooling over him. Then they fall in love, blah, blah, blah.â
At this point, you were barely listening. But then they dropped the bomb. Your eyes were shutting and you felt the sweet embrace of sleep call to you.
âAlso, thereâs this subplot where a magical plague of squirrels overruns the kingdom, the Saint betrays everyone by secretly being a double agent for some shadowy organization, andâget thisâthereâs a surprise paternity reveal where the devil is the father of the Saint who turns out to be the evil villain controlling everything.â
Your face had hit the pillow as your soul left your body.
And somehow, the next thing you remember is waking up dead. Or, more specifically, reincarnated. In the body of the heroine. In that story.
You can't believe the story was so terrible that it killed you.
The first thing you notice when you wake up is that the room is way too fancy for your tastes. The bed is massive, the sheets feel like they cost more than your entire existence, and the walls are adorned with tacky portraits of people who are probably supposed to be important.
âOh, no,â you groan, rubbing your eyes. âThis canât be happening.â
But it is. Youâre in the novel. The very one your friend had been yammering about. And not only are you in it, but youâve woken up a full year before the plot is supposed to kick off. A year of waiting for terrible drama, an ex-fiancĂŠ who canât take a hint, and a poor fae prince youâre supposed to rescue.
But you? Yeah, youâre not that patient.
âNo way am I waiting a whole year for some garbage plot to unfold,â you mutter, throwing the covers off. âIâm just going to free Malleus now, take my reward, and live a quiet, drama-free life by the beach.â
With that plan firmly in mind, you march out the door.
It takes a bit of wandering through some overly cursed forest, but you eventually find Malleusâs âprison.â And honestly? Itâs not nearly as dramatic as you expected.
There he is, sitting in the middle of a clearing, chained up in some kind of spooky-but-also-weirdly-ornate setup. He looks just as the novel described: tall, dark-haired, horns giving him an air of mystery and power. But what you werenât prepared for? The way his eyes widen slightly in surprise when he sees you.
âI wasnât expecting⌠company,â Malleus says, his voice soft, almost tentative.
You pause for a second. He looks intimidating, sure, but thereâs something oddly⌠sweet about him. Like a guy whoâd get excited over a party invite and then be too shy to actually show up.
âYeah, Iâm just here to get this whole âcurse-breakingâ thing out of the way,â you say casually, walking up to the chains. âIâve got stuff to do.â
Malleus blinks, looking a bit confused. âYou⌠are not attracted to me?â
You snort. âNah, not really. Youâre nice to look at, donât get me wrong, but Iâve got my own problems. Letâs just get you free so I can collect my reward and move on.â
He still looks mildly surprised but nods. âVery well.â
With a shrug, you reach out and touch the chains. Thereâs a brief flicker of light, and they dissolve. Just like that.
Malleus looks down at his freed wrists, clearly shocked. âIt⌠it worked.â
âYeah, wild, right?â you say, brushing off your hands. âSo, about that rewardâŚâ
Before you can finish, Malleus stands and, in a tone so polite it makes you feel guilty, says, âYou have freed me. Please, allow me to invite you to stay at my castle. As a guest.â
You blink at him. âUh, no thanks. Iâm good.â
Malleusâs expression falters for a moment, and you swear he looks a little sad. âBut⌠I would like to repay you for your kindness.â
Heâs giving you this look, all wide-eyed and hopeful, and you realizeâhe just wants to hang out.
Oh no.
âUgh, fine,â you groan. âIâll stick around for a bit.â
The way his face lights up is honestly too pure for someone who was supposed to be all intimidating and all-powerful.
When you arrive at Malleusâs castle, things get interesting real fast. Youâre greeted by his entourageâSebek, who looks like heâs one insult away from going Super Saiyan; Silver, whoâs napping on his feet; and Lilia, who seems like the embodiment of chaos.
Sebek is the first to speak, scowling at you with righteous fury. âHow DARE you approach Lord Malleus with such insolence!â
You roll your eyes. âI just freed him. Youâre welcome.â
Sebek looks like heâs about to explode, but Lilia steps forward, his sharp grin making you instantly suspicious. âOh? You broke the curse? Without being⌠swayed by our dear Malleusâs charms?â
âYup,â you say, popping the âp.â âDidnât even break a sweat.â
Liliaâs eyes gleam with amusement. âFascinating. You must have quite the willpower. Or perhapsâŚâ He looks you up and down, clearly intrigued. âYou simply have different tastes?â
You blink. Then, without thinking, you point at him. âActually, yeah. Youâre hot.â
Thereâs a beat of stunned silence, during which Sebek looks like heâs been hit with a brick, and Lilia lets out a delighted laugh.
âOh, you are a delight,â Lilia says, his eyes twinkling with mischief. âPerhaps you should stay longer.â
âYou think Iâm joking, but Iâm not,â you deadpan, earning a grin from Lilia.
Silver, meanwhile, is still half-asleep and completely unfazed by your chaos. âGood job on freeing Malleus,â he mutters, yawning.
Malleus, who has been silent this whole time, finally speaks up. âYou⌠do not find me attractive?â
You turn to him and sigh. âLook, itâs not that youâre not attractive. Youâre, like⌠objectively pretty. But I donât really go for the whole cursed prince thing.â
Malleus seems to process this slowly, his brows furrowing slightly. âI seeâŚâ
âBut donât worry,â you add quickly, feeling a bit bad for the guy. âYouâre sweet. Itâs a compliment, really.â
Malleus looks a little less confused and a bit more happy. âSweet? No one has ever called me that before.â
You snort. âWell, Iâm calling it now. And hey, youâve got your freedom, right? Now you can get invited to all those parties you wanted.â
At this, Malleusâs eyes widen slightly, and you realizeâoh no, heâs the type who really just wants to be invited to stuff.
âOh,â you mutter under your breath, âyouâre like a giant puppy, arenât you?â
Malleus tilts his head, clearly confused, but before he can ask, Lilia leans in with a knowing grin. âI think youâll fit in just fine around here.â
You sigh, rubbing your temples. âThis is gonna be a long stay, isnât it?â
Liliaâs smile widens. âOh, most definitely.â
Later, youâre sitting around the dining hall with the group when Lilia casually brings up the dreaded plot points.
âSo, when do you think the magical plague of squirrels will hit?â he asks, almost too casually.
You nearly choke on your drink. âThe what now?â
âOh, didnât you know?â Lilia smirks. âThereâs a prophecy. The squirrels will overrun the kingdom unless someone stops them.â
You blink. âThis is real? I thought that part was a fever dream.â
Malleus nods seriously. âThe squirrels are quite the threat.â
You slam your head on the table. âIâm trapped in a nightmare.â
Silver, half-asleep as always, just yawns. âIâll take care of them. Probably.â
And thatâs when you realize: maybe you should have let the curse be.
You didnât mean for it to happen, but you and Malleus⌠well, youâve become friends. It started small, mostly casual conversations where heâd hover around, awkward but eager, just happy to be included. There was this one time you invited him to tea, and the poor guy looked like he was about to cry from happiness. Now? Youâre taking your frienship to the next level.
âHey,â you say, strolling into the throne room where Malleus is doing the farthest thing from brooding. Heâs just kind of standing there, staring out the window like heâs daydreaming about a really nice picnic. âWant to go to the market with me?â
The look on his face is priceless. His eyes widen like youâve just handed him a golden ticket to the best party of the year. âYou⌠want me to accompany you?â
âYeah,â you shrug, as if this isnât the biggest deal of his life. âI need to pick up some stuff, and I figured itâd be more fun with a friend. Plus, yâknow, maybe someone will actually give me a discount if youâre there.â
Malleus looks like you just offered him the world âI would be honored.â
And thatâs how you, Malleus, and the rest of his chaotic entourageâbecause of course they followedâended up at the bustling market.
Sebek? Less than thrilled. In fact, you think he might actually be foaming at the mouth. âI cannot believe you are fraternizing with Lord Malleus so casually! Do you not understand the honor youâve been given?!â
âSebek,â you sigh, waving a hand dismissively, âweâve been over this. Iâm his friend. Friends do normal stuff together. You know, like going to the market.â
Sebek glares at you like youâve just insulted his entire bloodline. âLord Malleus does not engage in such trivialities!â
âUh,â you glance over at Malleus, who is currently inspecting a row of intricately carved fruit. âHeâs literally doing it right now, Sebek.â
Malleus turns to you, holding up a fruit shaped like a tiny dragon. âWould you like to try one? It is said to bring good fortune.â
You grin at him. âIf youâre offering, Iâm down.â
Sebek looks like heâs about to explode from sheer indignation.
âYou dareâ!â
âSebek,â Malleus cuts in, his voice as gentle as ever. âI am quite enjoying myself. Thereâs no need to worry.â
You grin at the sight. âYouâre really into this, huh?â
Malleus glances at you, a little bashful but still smiling. âI have never been invited to something like this before. It is⌠a new experience.â
Oh god, heâs so sweet. You feel like youâre corrupting a baby deer by dragging him into the real world, but itâs so worth it.
Lilia, however, is having the time of his life. He leans over, grinning like the mischievous little gremlin he is, and whispers in your ear, âI must say, youâve got quite the charm. Lord Malleus rarely accepts invitations. You might be more important to him than you think.â
You snort. âYeah, well, maybe he just really likes fruit.â
Lilia laughs, a sound thatâs equal parts endearing and dangerous. âOr maybe he enjoys your company, hm?â
âCareful,â you say, flashing a grin. âKeep sweet-talking me like that, and I might start flirting back.â
Liliaâs eyes gleam with amusement. âOh? I think Iâd enjoy that.â
Oh god, heâs not backing down. Now youâre in the deep end. âListen, if you keep going, Iâm gonna have to ask if youâve got plans for dinner.â
âIâm free this evening,â Lilia replies smoothly. âShall I prepare a feast? Or perhaps we could have something more⌠intimate?â
You blink at him, unable to tell if heâs messing with you or if this is just how he operates. Either way, youâre so down to find out.
Before you can respond, Sebek cuts in, voice raised to what can only be described as âangry airhorn.â âYou will not speak so casually to Master Lilia!â
âOh, Sebek, relax,â you say, patting him on the shoulder, which is a mistake because it feels like patting a brick wall. âHe likes it.â
Lilia winks at you, thoroughly enjoying the chaos. âIndeed, I do.â
You smirk, shooting Lilia a playful look. âSee? The manâs practically begging for attention.â
Malleus, meanwhile, has been watching this entire exchange with mild confusion. âIs this what humans call⌠flirting?â
You give him an exaggerated nod. âYup. Itâs a sacred tradition. Very serious stuff.â
âI see,â Malleus muses, looking between you and Lilia. âPerhaps I should try it as well?â
âOh, please donât,â Sebek groans, looking absolutely horrified at the idea of Malleus flirting. âLord Malleus, you are above such trivial pursuits!â
Lilia is practically cackling at this point. âNow, now, Sebek. It wouldnât hurt to let Malleus explore new experiences.â
You grin and elbow Malleus lightly. âDonât listen to Sebek. You can totally flirt if you want.â
Malleus, sweet as he is, looks completely serious when he asks, âWhat would I say? I do not wish to offend.â
You pause, trying very hard not to laugh. âOkay, how about this? Try complimenting someone. LikeâŚâ You glance around and point at a vendor selling flowers. âTell them they have lovely flowers.â
Malleus nods, taking this very seriously, and walks over to the vendor. You, Lilia, Sebek, and Silver (whoâs been napping the whole time) watch as Malleus, ever the gentleman, says to the vendor, âYour flowers⌠are as radiant as the moonlight.â
The vendor looks flustered, blushing furiously. âOh! Thank you, My Lord!â
You canât help but laugh. âSee? Youâre a natural.â
Malleus returns to your side, looking pleased with himself. âI believe that went well.â
âYeah, now you just have to work on *accepting* compliments,â you say with a wink, and Malleus tilts his head slightly in confusion.
âAccepting?â
âYeah,â you grin, âlike, if I were to tell you youâre the sweetest giant fae-dragon puppy Iâve ever met, youâd sayâŚ?â
Malleus looks genuinely flustered, his cheeks tinting the faintest shade of pink. âI⌠would say⌠thank you?â
âGood enough,â you laugh, nudging him playfully. âWeâll work on it.â
Sebek is muttering to himself about âdisrespectâ and âsacrilege,â but Malleus looks⌠happy. Like, really happy. Heâs still a little awkward, sure, but you can tell heâs having a good time. Probably more fun than heâs had in years.
Lilia, meanwhile, is back at your side, leaning in close with that smirk of his. âYouâre quite the influence, you know.â
âYeah, well,â you grin, âsomeoneâs gotta drag him into the real world.â
âPerhaps youâll drag me into something as well?â Lilia purrs, his voice low and teasing.
You blink at him. âKeep talking, and I might actually propose to you.â
âOh, Iâm counting on it,â Lilia says, eyes glinting with mischief. âPerhaps later tonight?â
âIs that an invitation?â you quip, raising an eyebrow.
Sebek practically has steam coming out of his ears. âMaster Lilia!â
But Lilia just laughs, utterly unfazed. âOh, Sebek. You really must learn to loosen up.â
Silver yawns loudly, cutting through Sebekâs rant like a chainsaw through butter. âCan we get food now?â
You snort. âThatâs the best idea Iâve heard all day.â
Malleus, ever the polite host, nods eagerly. âYes, let us dine together. A family outing is not complete without a meal.â
You pause, blinking. Family? Did he just call this a family outing?
Lilia catches your expression and chuckles. âOh dear, it seems Malleus has grown quite fond of you.â
You shoot him a playful glare. âYou make it sound like a bad thing.â
âNot at all,â Lilia says, smiling knowingly. âIn fact, I believe itâs quite the opposite.â
Before you can respond, Malleus steps up, still radiating pure joy. âWould you do me the honor of joining me for dinner tonight? I would very much enjoy your company.â
Sebek looks like heâs about to self-destruct from sheer disbelief, but you? You canât help but grin. âSure, why not? But if I catch you stealing my dessert, itâs game over.â
Malleus chuckles, his awkwardness fading just a bit. âI shall do my best to restrain myself.â
Lilia leans over, voice low and teasing again. âPerhaps youâll save dessert for me, hm?â
You snort. âDonât push your luck, old man.â
âAh, but Iâm a fae. Luck is my specialty.â
You shake your head, grinning as you walk alongside Malleus, whoâs positively glowing with happiness. Yeah, this is one weird, dysfunctional family, but maybe you like it that way.
Itâs quiet tonight, the kind of quiet that settles deep in your bones, making you feel both peaceful and unbearably restless. You find yourself standing on a balcony, overlooking the courtyard bathed in moonlight. The cool breeze whispers through the trees, the scent of night-blooming flowers drifting lazily through the air.
Lilia stands beside you, leaning against the stone railing, his usual playful demeanor absent. In its place is a rare solemnity, something youâve only seen glimpses of before. You glance at him, noting the way the moonlight catches in his hair, casting soft shadows across his face. It feels... strange, seeing him like this. So serious, so quiet.
After a long silence, he speaks, his voice soft but weighted with emotion. âI was terrified, you know. Of losing him.â
You donât need to ask who heâs talking about. Malleus. The curse that had wrapped around him for so long, a dark cloud that threatened to take him away. You had been the unexpected catalyst for breaking it, and while you hadnât fully understood the gravity of it at the time, youâre beginning to now.
Lilia continues, his gaze fixed on the stars above. âIâve lived a long time. Iâve seen many things, lost many people... but the thought of losing him...â He trails off, his voice catching in a way that makes your heart ache. âIt would have broken me.â
You swallow, unsure of what to say. What can you say to something like that? Youâre just... you. You never asked to be involved in any of this, never imagined that youâd become such an important part of these peopleâs lives. But here you are.
âI didnât do anything special,â you finally manage, your voice barely more than a whisper. âI was just... there.â
Lilia turns to look at you, and thereâs something deep in his eyesâsomething raw and real that takes your breath away. âSometimes just being there is enough,â he says quietly. âYou saved him. And in doing so, you saved me too.â
You shift uncomfortably, not because of his words, but because of the way they tug at something deep inside of you. A part of you that youâve been trying to keep buried for as long as youâve been in this strange, unfamiliar world.
Youâre silent for a long time, your gaze fixed on the moonlit sky. The memories of your old life swirl in your mindâyour family, your best friend, all the people youâve left behind. You havenât spoken about it to anyone here, not in detail. It feels too dangerous, too vulnerable. But standing here, under the moonlight with Lilia, you feel like maybe... just maybe... you can share a piece of it.
âI miss them,â you admit softly, your voice barely above a whisper. âMy family. My best friend. I miss... home.â
Lilia doesnât say anything, but you can feel his presence beside you, warm and steady. He doesnât press for details, doesnât ask questions youâre not ready to answer. He just listens, and somehow, thatâs enough.
You take a deep breath, the cool night air filling your lungs. âItâs hard,â you continue, your voice shaking slightly. âBeing here. Being away from them. Sometimes it feels like... like Iâm losing pieces of myself. Like Iâm forgetting what it felt like to be... whole.â
Liliaâs hand gently rests on your shoulder, a comforting weight that grounds you. âYou havenât lost yourself,â he says quietly. âNot even a little.â
You close your eyes, letting his words wash over you. You donât know if heâs right, but in this moment, you want to believe him. You want to believe that despite everything, despite the distance and the pain and the uncertainty, youâre still... you.
For a long time, the two of you stand in silence, the only sounds the soft rustling of the trees and the distant chirping of crickets. The moon hangs heavy in the sky, casting everything in a silvery glow. Thereâs a quiet understanding between you and Lilia, a shared pain that neither of you needs to fully explain.
Eventually, Lilia speaks again, his voice so soft it almost blends with the wind. âThe world can be a cruel place,â he murmurs. âBut it can also be kind. And in moments like this... it feels just a little more bearable, doesnât it?â
You nod, your throat tight with unshed tears. âYeah,â you whisper. âIt does.â
The night stretches on, and though neither of you say anything more, thereâs a comfort in the silence. A bond formed in the quiet acknowledgment of each otherâs pain. And for the first time in a long while, you feel like youâre not quite so alone.
Maybe, just maybe, youâll be okay.
Youâre not entirely sure how you ended up here, but somehow, youâre on a date with Lilia. Yes, that Liliaâlord of chaos, culinary adventurer, and general source of havoc.
The setting is picturesque enough: a meadow at sunset, complete with wildflowers and a gentle breeze. At least, it would be picturesque if not for the feast Lilia has prepared, which has a worrying amount of color, movement, and mystery.
âSurprise is the key to a romantic evening,â Lilia declares as he gestures proudly over the assortment of dishes.
You take a moment to assess the display. Thereâs a vibrantly colored stew that seems to be emitting steam with a life of its own. A platter of vegetables is twitching as if theyâre reconsidering their life choices. And thereâs a pieâdefinitely a pieâwith something that looks suspiciously like an eyeball poking out from under the crust.
Lilia smiles at you, eyes glinting. âWould you like to try the stew first, my dear? Itâs my own special concoction.â
You stare at it, then at him. âHow many people have survived eating this?â
Lilia leans in, eyes full of mischief. âDefine survived.â
You grin. âOnly one way to find out, right?â Before he can respond, you reach for the bowl and take a large spoonful of the stew. Liliaâs eyebrows rise, clearly impressed by your boldness.
It tastes... unusual. Like someone mixed spicy peppers, sweet berries, and some kind of very sharp herb. You take another bite, considering.
Lilia watches you, waiting for a reaction. âWell?â he asks, a hopeful glint in his eye.
You swallow, then nod thoughtfully. âItâs... actually good. Really good, in fact.â
Lilia blinks, his expression shifting from mischief to genuine surprise. âReally?â
You nod again, going in for a third bite, savoring the strange combination of flavors. âYeah! I mean, itâs different, but in a good way. The spice, the sweetness... it kind of works.â
Liliaâs face lights up, his delight palpable. âYou truly mean it? My culinary prowess is usually met with... trepidation.â
âTrepidation might be an understatement,â you say with a laugh. âBut honestly? I think people donât give you enough credit.â
From somewhere nearby, a strangled gasp echoes across the meadow.
âMaster Lilia!â Sebekâs voice rings out, sounding more horrified than ever. You glance in the direction of the bushes where, sure enough, theyâre rustling. Apparently, Sebek has taken it upon himself to supervise this date from afar.
Lilia chuckles, clearly enjoying Sebek's reaction as much as yours. âOh, my dear Sebek. One day, you shall learn that adventure begins in the kitchen.â
You take a sip of the iridescent liquid before youâa drink that looks more like a potion than anything else. Itâs sparkling, and it has the distinct taste of... glittery fruit juice? Youâre not sure, but itâs oddly refreshing.
Lilia eyes you, his smile turning softer, more genuine. âI must say, you are full of surprises. Most would have fainted by now.â
âHey, I can handle a little excitement,â you say, reaching for one of the twitching vegetables.
Lilia watches in awe as you pop it into your mouth and chew. âAnd?â he asks, almost breathless.
You blink. âCrunchy. Kind of earthy. I like it.â
Liliaâs smile widens, his eyes twinkling with delight. âOh, how wonderful! My dear, you truly are one of a kind.â
Sebekâs dismayed groan echoes once again, and you laugh, glancing toward the bushes. âI think weâre breaking poor Sebek.â
âWell, thatâs part of the fun, isnât it?â Lilia replies, leaning closer to you. âAnd speaking of fun, I have something special for you.â He produces a bright blue flower, presenting it to you with a flourish.
You take it, giving it a cautious sniff. It smells like fresh-baked cookies, and you look at Lilia, raising an eyebrow. âA flower that smells like dessert? Now youâre really spoiling me.â
Liliaâs eyes soften, his voice lowering. âOnly the best for someone who appreciates my unique touch.â
Before you can reply, thereâs another voiceâthis one distinctly sleepy. âFather, what... whatâs going on here?â Silver approaches, looking like he just woke up from a nap. He takes one look at the sceneâthe half-eaten dishes, the flower in your hand, and Liliaâs delighted expressionâand sighs. âAre you actually eating this... willingly?â
You nod, grinning. âTurns out Liliaâs cooking isnât so bad. Itâs actually kind of great.â
Silver looks at you, then at Lilia, then back at you. He blinks, his brain clearly trying to process this information. âFather, are you using magic to manipulate their taste buds?â
Lilia puts a hand over his heart, looking offended. âSilver, how could you suggest such a thing? I assure you, our dear friend here is enjoying my cooking purely of their own volition.â
Silver sighs again, rubbing his temples. âI think I need another nap.â
Lilia laughs, turning his attention back to you, his eyes filled with affection. âYou truly are something special, my dear. Few have ever dared, let alone enjoyed, my creations.â
You smile, giving his hand a squeeze. âWell, I guess Iâm just full of surprises.â
Lilia leans in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. âWould it be too much to say I find you... irresistible?â
You chuckle, narrowing your eyes playfully. âDonât push your luck, old man.â
Lilia smirks, his gaze full of warmth. âAh, but pushing my luck is what I do best. Perhaps next time, Iâll cook an even more adventurous meal for us.â
You pretend to consider it, tapping your chin. âDefine adventurous.â
Liliaâs eyes glint mischievously. âHow about roasted phoenix feathers?â
âPhoenix feathers?â you echo, shaking your head with a laugh. âYou know what? I think I like you just the way you areâabsurd cooking experiments and all.â
Liliaâs expression softens, his smile turning tender. âIâm glad to hear it.â
With that, the two of you rise, arm in arm, leaving behind the bizarre remains of the meal. Somewhere in the bushes, Sebek is probably fuming, and Silver has most likely already fallen asleep again.
But as you glance at Lilia, whose eyes are still filled with excitement and warmth, you think that maybe absurd is just what you need.
You love this little family, but you had to gain equal footing with Sebek before you got attached any further. So you did what you thought would work the bestâ Challenge him in something he enjoys.
You and Sebek had been circling the field for a while now, your horses galloping side by side as you both tried to outpace each other. The competitive tension was thick in the air, though not hostileâit was more of an unspoken game to see who would crack first.
âSo, youâre telling me youâve been riding horses for *years*?â Sebek shouts over the wind, his eyes sharp with determination.
âYup,â you reply, grinning as your horse picks up speed. âEquestrian club, since I was a kid. Surprised?â
Sebek huffs, his posture straight and rigid as always, but you can tell heâs impressed. âItâs⌠commendable. For a human, youâve got some skill.â
âSome skill?â you tease, glancing over at him with a mischievous smile. âIs that all I get? Come on, Sebek, I thought you were competitive.â
He narrows his eyes at you, spurring his horse faster to pull ahead. âI am competitive! Youâll find I do not lose so easily.â
You laugh, nudging your horse to keep up. Thereâs a thrill in itâpushing each other, but not in a mean way. Sebekâs passion for horse riding matches your own, and itâs fun to finally find common ground with him. Plus, youâre enjoying the challenge.
The field blurs by as you both race toward the far fence, neither of you backing down. As you approach the finish line (or rather, the arbitrary spot you both decided was the end), you both cross it at nearly the same time, pulling your horses to a halt, panting slightly.
Sebek is the first to speak, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow. âHmph. Youâre not bad.â
âNot bad? Iâd say Iâm pretty good,â you shoot back, grinning ear to ear.
Sebek scoffs, but thereâs a lightness in his tone that wasnât there before. âYouâre still a human, but⌠Iâll admit, you ride with some honor.â
âWow, high praise,â you tease, but you soften your smile. âThanks, Sebek. Youâre not half-bad yourself.â
For a split second, you think you catch the ghost of a smile on his face, but it quickly disappears as he straightens in his saddle. âOf course. Riding is in my blood.â
You roll your eyes playfully. âOh, obviously. I bet you were born in the saddle.â
âPerhaps I was,â Sebek says, completely serious. You stifle a laugh, realizing he probably believes that.
But before you can retort, Lilia rides up, his usual mischievous grin firmly in place. âAh, whatâs this? A friendly competition between two of my favorite people?â
âMaster Lilia,â Sebek says, immediately shifting into soldier mode. âWe were justââ
âCompeting, yes, I can see that.â Liliaâs grin widens as he glances between the two of you. âI must say, the sight of you both racing like that was⌠quite exhilarating.â
You smirk, not missing a beat. âWhat, did we impress you?â
Lilia leans closer, voice dropping into a playful tone. âOh, darling, Iâve been impressed by you for quite some time now.â
Sebek looks like heâs about to faint from sheer mortification. âMASTER LILIA! HUMAN!â
You laugh, waving Lilia off. âCareful, Sebek, youâre gonna scare your horse.â
But surprisingly, Sebek doesnât snap back. Instead, he looks at you, something softer in his expression. âI admit⌠youâve shown me something today. Perhaps youâre not just a reckless human after all.â
You raise an eyebrow. âWow, Sebek. If I didnât know better, Iâd think youâre starting to like me.â
Sebek grumbles, looking away. âDo not mistake my words. I merely acknowledge your competence. Nothing more.â
âSure, sure,â you reply, still grinning. âBut hey, anytime you wanna ride again, Iâm game.â
Sebek glances back at you, his usual harshness softened just a bit. âPerhaps⌠I will take you up on that.â
Lilia chuckles, clearly pleased with the budding camaraderie. âAh, it warms my heart to see you two bonding. Who knows? Maybe youâll become the best of friends.â
You wink at Lilia. âWell, if Sebek keeps up, maybe Iâll make him my official riding partner.â
Sebek, for once, doesnât argue. Instead, he gives a small, determined nod. âWe shall see, human. We shall see.â
As you ride back toward the stables, you canât help but smile. Youâve earned a bit of respect from Sebek, and who knows? Maybe youâll turn this into a full-fledged rivalryâone with a bit more fun and a lot less shouting.
Lilia, of course, flirts all the way back, making sure to keep the mood light and teasing, much to Sebekâs increasing exasperation. But even he can't deny that today was fun
The day should've been as normal as you could have these daysâyour stomach had other plans. Thereâs this nagging craving in the back of your mind for ramen, but of course, youâre stuck in a medieval isekai world where even the concept of instant noodles would make heads explode.
You groan, pacing back and forth in your room. "Ramen, ramen, ramen..." Youâre practically chanting it like a spell. Finally, you snap your fingers. "Alright! Letâs get some ramen going!"
With all the determination of a contestant in a cooking show, you head to the market, a list of makeshift ingredients mentally prepared. You have no clue how youâre going to explain seaweed or soy sauce to the vendors, but hey, youâve gotten this far in life on sheer audacity.
Except, ten minutes later, you find yourself hopelessly lost. You had been walking with confidence, chest out, head high, until you somehow managed to wander into a part of town that definitely wasnât on your mental map. Instead of bustling vendors and cheerful shoppers, youâre now looking at a spooky, abandoned-looking area, complete with dense fog and suspiciously creaky trees.
âThis... This isnât the market,â you mutter, pausing in front of a seriously ominous cottage. If there were ever a sign that said "DO NOT ENTER" in flashing neon, this would be it. And yet, for reasons unknown even to yourself, you approach.
Before you can bolt in the opposite direction, the door swings open with the most dramatic creak youâve ever heard. A woman, dressed in black robes, stands in the doorway with a gaze that could curdle milk. Her aura practically screams witch, and not the cool kind eitherâthe villainous, melodramatic kind.
âWell, well, well,â she sneers, stepping out with all the grace of a Broadway villain, âlook who wandered into my lair.â
âUh, yeah...â You trail off, scratching the back of your head. âSo⌠this isnât the market?â
The witch gives you a look so condescending it could melt iron. âNo,â she hisses, âit most certainly is not. Youâve trespassed on my domain, little fool!â
âRight, so sorry about that,â you say, trying to backpedal. âIâm just trying to make some ramen, and Iâwait, hold on, who are you exactly?â
Her eyes flash with annoyance. âYou donât know who I am?â
You blink at her. âIs this the part where you tell me, like in those cartoons? âCause Iâm getting major âIâm about to monologueâ vibes right now.â
The witchâs face twitches, clearly not used to people interrupting her villain speech. âI,â she says, pausing for dramatic effect, âam the witch who cursed Malleus Draconia!â
Oh, that witch. Youâve heard some stories about her, mostly from half-paying attention when your friend geeked out over the original plot. But now that youâre face-to-face with her... this is not how you pictured it. You tilt your head.
âSo, wait,â you begin, trying to suppress a snicker, âyouâre the one who came up with that whole 15-year curse plan? And your big finale was⌠what? Swooping in at the last second to save him and then expecting him to marry you?â
Her eyes narrow. âThat was the plan.â
You stare at her for a moment, the absurdity sinking in. â...Thatâs ridiculous.â
âHow dare you mock me?!â she shrieks, her voice reaching a pitch that probably scared some birds out of nearby trees. She raises her hand, dark magic swirling between her fingers, and you swear you can hear thunder crack in the distance.
âOkay, hang on,â you say, taking a cautious step back. âLetâs not get all zappy here. Iâm just saying thatâs a lot of effort for a plan that has, like, a one percent success rate.â
âSilence!â Sheâs fuming now, throwing her hand forward to launch the magic at youâand you brace yourself for the worst. Youâve seen this in movies before. This is the part where you get turned into a frog or something equally terrible.
Except⌠nothing happens.
The magic fizzles out midair like a dud firecracker, leaving a puff of smoke and an awkward silence in its wake. You blink. She blinks. You both stare at the spot where the magic should have been.
âUhâŚâ you begin, rubbing the back of your neck. âWas that supposed to do something?â
The witch looks at her hand, then at you, then back at her hand again like sheâs having a serious identity crisis. âWhat...?â
âI mean, points for the drama, but Iâm still standing here,â you say, waving your hand in front of your face as if checking for damage. âAnd I donât think Iâm a toad.â
She tries again, gathering more magic in her hands and launching it at you with renewed fury. But once again, nothing. The magic stops short, fizzling out like itâs hitting an invisible barrier around you. Now sheâs just staring at you, dumbfounded.
You, on the other hand, are absolutely flabbergasted. âOkay, this is getting weird.â
Thatâs when Lilia appearsâliterally, out of nowhere. He casually steps out from behind a tree like this is all a normal Monday for him. âAh, I thought I sensed some familiar mischief afoot,â he says, his voice cheerful, though his eyes glint with something far more dangerous as they lock onto the witch.
The witch recoils, visibly shaken. âLilia Vanrouge,â she hisses, sounding more like a disgruntled cat than a fearsome sorceress.
âIn the flesh,â he says with a light bow, his grin all sharp teeth and mischief. âWhat brings you out of your little hidey-hole?â
She glares at him but doesnât say anything. Sheâs outmatched, and she knows it. With one last seething look at you, she vanishes into thin air with a dramatic whoosh of smoke, leaving you and Lilia alone in the now eerily quiet forest.
You turn to him, utterly confused. âWhat the heck was that about? Why didnât her magic work on me?â
Liliaâs grin softens, his gaze turning fond. âAh, I see Iâve forgotten to tell you. I placed a faeâs blessing on you some time ago.â
âWait, what?â You gape at him. âWhen did you do that?!â
He chuckles, as if you asking when he bestowed a magical shield on you is the most amusing thing heâs heard all week. âYou tend to attract trouble, my dear. I thought it best to give you a little extra protection.â
You blink at him, still processing. âSo⌠youâve been secretly protecting me this whole time?â
His gaze turns a bit more serious, the usual playful air dropping away. âI donât want to see anything happen to you,â he says softly, the words carrying a weight you hadnât expected.
For a moment, youâre left speechless, flustered even. The teasing and jokes youâre so used to from Lilia are gone, replaced by something⌠deeper. It throws you off your game.
âWell, uhâŚâ You clear your throat, desperately trying to recover. âI appreciate not getting turned into a frog or whatever she was planning.â
His grin returns, and the moment passes. âYouâre welcome. Now, shall we head back to the market? I believe you were on a quest for... ramen, was it?â
You let out a laugh, shaking your head as the absurdity of it all catches up with you. âYeah, letâs do that. And maybe next time Iâll avoid wandering into spooky villain lairs.â
âAn excellent plan,â he says, offering you his arm. âShall we?â
And just like that, youâre back on trackâalbeit a bit more shaken than before, but at least youâve got a magical blessing you didnât know about and one very charming fae escorting you through the mess.
Youâre sitting under a large tree in the courtyard, soaking up the rare bit of peace and quiet thatâs fallen over your life. Itâs a nice day, the kind that makes you feel all warm and content, the sun shining gently through the leaves. Beside you, Silver is leaning against the trunk, dozing off as usual. Youâve become used to his tendency to fall asleep mid-conversation, and honestly, itâs kind of adorable.
He stirs a little, blinking his sleepy eyes open and looking at you with a soft smile. âItâs nice to have moments like this,â he says, voice a bit groggy. âEspecially after everything.â
âYeah,â you reply, leaning back on your hands. âItâs been... a lot.â
Silver glances at you, his gaze thoughtful. âYou really helped us. My family,â he says, his tone a bit more serious than usual. âFreeing Lord Malleus from that curse... it was no small feat.â
Your stomach twists a little at the mention of Malleus. It still feels surreal that you had a hand in such a monumental event. You shrug, trying to play it cool. âEh, you know... just another day of accidentally stumbling into chaos.â
He chuckles lightly, his smile softening even more. âIâm not sure if Iâll ever be able to thank you properly for what youâve done. You really saved us all.â
You wave your hand dismissively. âStop, youâre going to make me blush. I was just trying to make some money, and suddenly Iâm in the middle of an epic quest. You know how it is.â
Silver hums, half-amused, and then casually drops the bomb on you like itâs the most normal thing in the world: âYouâd be perfect with Father.â
Your brain short-circuits. â...Sorry, what?â
Silver, utterly oblivious to the internal crisis heâs just unleashed within you, looks at you with that serene, peaceful expression of his. âFather. Youâd be perfect with him.â
The world screeches to a halt. *Perfect? With Lilia?* You stare at him, wide-eyed, your mouth hanging open in a most undignified manner. âIâm sorry, did you justâdid you just suggest that Iâmeâshould be with your father?!â
Silver nods, looking completely at peace with his assessment, like heâs just commented on the weather. âYes. You two get along well. You make each other laugh, and he seems fond of you. And Father... well, he deserves someone who can make him smile like that.â
Your mind is racing at 100 miles per hour. âSilver. SILVER.â You clutch your head as if physically holding your brain together will stop it from spiraling into madness. âDo you have any idea what you just said?â
Silver, ever the calm and composed knight, merely tilts his head. âWas it something strange?â
âSTRANGE?!â Youâre flailing now, completely losing your cool. âYou just casually suggested I should date your father! Who, may I remind you, is an ancient fae with enough power to casually toss me into another dimension if he wanted!â
Silver blinks, seeming to consider this for a moment. âI donât think heâd toss you into another dimension. Heâd probably just... laugh and then take you out to dinner.â
Youâre having a full-blown existential crisis. Your face is bright red, your heart is doing somersaults, and youâre not sure if you want to scream, faint, or throw yourself into the nearest fountain.
Silver, meanwhile, is just sitting there, serene and utterly oblivious to the emotional chaos heâs just unleashed upon you. âFatherâs a good person,â He says softly. âI think you two would be happy together.â
âI... I...â You sputter, trying to form words but utterly failing as images of Liliaâs teasing smile and playful banter run through your mind. And then you imagine the alternative: Liliaâs serious side, the one that is somehow even more terrifyingly attractive, and you feel your heart skip a beat.
âOh no,â you whisper, clutching your chest. âOh no, no, no... Silver, what have you done?â
Silver looks at you with concern now, finally noticing that youâre having what can only be described as a breakdown. âAre you alright?"
âNO!â you cry, standing up and pacing back and forth in front of him. âYouâve broken me! Youâve ruined me! IâmâSilver, your father is... Heâs... and I... Oh, gods, this is too much. TOO MUCH!â
Silver watches you pace for a moment before quietly saying, âYouâre thinking about it, though.â
You freeze mid-step. âIâNO! Maybe? Yes? IâWhy would you say that, Silver?!â
He just smiles, a soft, knowing smile. âBecause itâs true.â
You slump back down beside him, groaning loudly as you cover your face with your hands. âYouâre impossible, you know that?â
Silver chuckles softly, resting his head back against the tree again. âIâve heard that before.â
And as you sit there, your mind spinning with thoughts of Lilia and all the ridiculous, impossible implications Silverâs comment has brought to life, you canât help but think that maybeâjust *maybe*âhe has a point.
But youâre not ready to admit that yet. Not even to yourself.
âI need a drink,â you mumble under your breath, and Silver hums in agreement.
âFather would probably help you make it,â he says, and you let out a loud groan, flopping onto the grass in dramatic defeat.
âSilver, youâre killing me.â
He just smiles that peaceful smile of his.
Itâs a quiet afternoon, the sun beginning to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the courtyard. Youâre standing with Malleus and Sebek in one of the palaceâs gardens, the tranquil hum of life around you contrasting with the more serious conversation thatâs about to unfold. You can feel the weight of what Malleus is about to say, and your mind spins as you prepare yourself for another emotionally charged moment.
Malleus takes a deep breath, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon. âFor the longest time,â he begins, his voice soft and filled with an unspoken vulnerability, âI thought I would be stuck. Trapped in that cursed state forever. I had resigned myself to it, believing that it was my fate to be alone.â
You shift slightly, unsure how to respond to such raw honesty. Sebek, standing next to Malleus, is silent for once, his usual loud and defensive nature tempered by the gravity of his lordâs words.
âBut then you came along,â Malleus continues, turning his glowing eyes toward you. âYou broke the curse, something no one had been able to do. You gave me back my freedom, something I had lost hope of ever regaining.â
Sebek clears his throat loudly, his usual dramatic flair coming to the surface despite the tenderness of the moment. âYes, well,â he says, voice gruff but tinged with the awkwardness of someone who isnât quite used to expressing gratitude. âI... suppose we should be... grateful. After all, if it werenât for you, Lord Malleus would still be... cursed, and we wouldnât be here together as we are now.â
You blink at Sebekâs begrudging admission, feeling a small smile tug at your lips. The fact that he of all people is thanking you, even in such a roundabout way, is oddly touching.
âWow, Sebek,â you say, voice teasing but soft. âWho knew you had it in you?â
Sebek bristles at your words, his expression a mix of indignation and embarrassment. âD-Donât misunderstand!â he exclaims, face turning a shade redder than usual. âIâm merely stating the facts! Nothing more!â
Malleus chuckles softly at Sebekâs outburst, his usual gentle smile returning to his face. âSebekâs gratitude, no matter how begrudging, is indeed a rarity,â he teases lightly before turning his attention back to you. âBut truly, I am grateful. Youâve given me back more than just my freedom. Youâve given me back... this.â
He gestures around him, indicating the garden, the palace, the sky above. âThis life, this chance to be with those I care about. And for that, I owe you a debt that I may never be able to repay.â
You shift awkwardly, feeling a strange warmth bloom in your chest. âI mean, I didnât really set out to save anyone,â you admit, your voice light but with an edge of honesty. âI just... wanted the reward. And then maybe to go home.â
Sebekâs eyebrows shoot up in surprise, and he opens his mouth to argue, but Malleus holds up a hand, stopping him before he can launch into one of his dramatic tirades
You hesitate, glancing between Malleus and Sebek. âI didnât think Iâd get attached,â you admit quietly, your voice softening. âBut I have. Somehow, Iâve found myself... caring about all of you. This weird little makeshift family.â
Sebek looks as though heâs about to protest the âweirdâ part, but a stern glance from Malleus keeps him quiet. You can see the begrudging acknowledgment in his eyes, thoughâhe knows itâs true, even if he doesnât want to admit it.
Malleus hums thoughtfully, his gaze lingering on you for a moment before he speaks again. âWell,â he says casually, as if discussing something as simple as the weather, âif youâre so attached, perhaps we should make it official. Perhaps you should marry into the family."
You freeze. Did he justâ?
You whip your head towards Malleus, completely flustered. âM-Marry?! What?!â
Sebek, on the other hand, looks as if someone just punched him in the face. His mouth opens and closes like a fish gasping for air, his eyes wide with outrage. âL-Lord Malleus, what are you suggesting?!â he sputters.
Malleus blinks, as calm as ever. âIâm suggesting marriage,â he repeats, as if itâs the most logical thing in the world. âIf they are so attached to us, it seems a reasonable next step. Perhaps they should marry Lilia?â
Your face turns a bright shade of red as your heart pounds in your chest. âWh-What?!â you stammer. âLilia?!â
Sebek turns even redder, his face contorting in disbelief. âMaster Lilia?!â
Malleus nods sagely, completely unfazed by both of your reactions. âYes, Lilia. He has shown great affection for them, and they would fit well within our family. Would you not agree, Sebek?â
Sebek looks like heâs about to explode, but thereâs an uncomfortable silence as he realizes⌠he canât argue. He knows Malleus and Lilia both care about you. He knows that youâve proven yourself to be a good person, despite his initial distrust. His mouth twitches, the words clearly struggling to escape his throat.
âIâwellâLord Malleus,â Sebek starts, looking every bit as if heâs been defeated by sheer logic. âI⌠I must admit⌠They are a suitable companion for Master Lilia⌠even if the idea of them marrying⌠well, it is quite⌠outrageous.â
You feel your soul leave your body as the conversation continues. Sebek canât quite bring himself to fully agree, yet he doesnât outright refuse the idea either. His loyalty to his lords binds him, and his begrudging acceptance of your presence has left him caught between duty and outrage.
âIâThisââ you stammer, completely overwhelmed. âIâThis is insane!â
Malleus looks at you with a calm smile. âThink it over,â he says, voice gentle. âYouâve already become part of our lives. Why not make it official?â
You open your mouth to protest, but the words die in your throat as you see the sincerity in his eyes. This isnât just a flippant suggestionâitâs Malleus genuinely offering you a place in his family. But the idea of marrying Lilia? Thatâs⌠thatâs a whole new level of madness.
âIâI think I need to lie down,â you mutter, pressing your hands to your temples. âThis is too much.â
Malleus chuckles softly, and even Sebek seems to relaxâif only a little. But as you glance between the two of them, you canât help but feel a strange warmth in your chest. Even with all the absurdity, you know one thing for sure: youâve found a place with them, whether you intended to or not.
The cat was just sitting there. Innocently perched on the branch, fluffy and regal like a tiny, judgmental king. You donât even know what possessed you, really. Maybe it was those huge, adorable eyes or the way its tail flicked back and forth. But somehow, someway, you ended up halfway up a tree. Climbing a tree. For a cat.
âI just wanted to pet you,â you mutter, feeling slightly ridiculous as you hug the branch for dear life. âAnd now Iâm stuck. Great.â
The cat stares at you, completely indifferent to your plight. You sigh, glancing down at the ground, which now seems alarmingly far away. Heights were never your thing, but in the moment, with that cute little furball teasing you, logic flew right out the window. Now, youâre clinging to the tree like a cowardly kitten yourself.
âWhy did I think this was a good idea?â you groan. The cat blinks at you. âDonât look at me like that. This is all your fault!â
And then, because fate has a terrible sense of humor, you hear a voice from below. A familiar, unmistakable voiceâplayful, with a hint of amusement laced through it.
âWell, well, what do we have here? It appears my dear little beastie has gotten themselves stuck.â
You nearly slip off the branch as you glance down to see Lilia standing at the base of the tree, arms crossed and an infuriatingly amused grin on his face. He looks every bit the mischievous fae, eyes twinkling with barely suppressed laughter.
âIâuhâthis isââ You stammer, trying to come up with some kind of excuse, but nothing comes. Youâre halfway up a tree. Because of a cat. No explanation is going to save your dignity now.
Lilia tilts his head, chuckling. âWere you planning on living up there from now on? Or should I assist you in returning to the ground?â
âHey, donât judge me!â you huff, cheeks burning. âThe catâlook at the cat! It was really cute, okay?â
Lilia glances up at the feline, which is now licking its paw in complete disinterest. He raises an eyebrow. âAh, yes, the cat. I see now. How could anyone resist such a noble creature?â
You groan, feeling your face get even hotter. âIâumâI might need help getting down.â
Liliaâs grin widens. âOf course, my dear. I was planning on catching you anyway.â
You freeze. âC-Catching me?â
âMmhm. Just jump down, and Iâll catch you,â Lilia says, his tone so casual, as if catching people out of trees is just something he does every day. He spreads his arms out, waiting expectantly.
Your heart races as you eye the distance between the branch and the ground again. Itâs not terribly high, but⌠still high enough to make you nervous. But Liliaâs standing there with that easy confidence, and the thought of staying stuck in this tree forever doesnât exactly appeal to you either.
Taking a deep breath, you inch closer to the edge of the branch. âO-Okay. Iâm going to jump.â
âGo ahead,â Lilia says, his voice soft. âIâll catch you.â
With one last look at the disinterested cat, you finally push yourself off the branch. For a split second, thereâs nothing but the rush of airâand then you feel yourself land securely in Liliaâs arms. Youâre caught. Easily, gently. Like it was nothing at all.
He looks down at you, his face much closer than you anticipated. âSee? I told you I would catch you.â
Youâre breathless for a moment, your heart doing flips as you realize just how close you are to him. His arms are around you, holding you steady, and you can feel the warmth of his body through his clothes. Heâs staring at you with that soft, amused smile, and youâre suddenly acutely aware of just how handsome he is.
âOh no,â you whisper to yourself, âIâm swooning.â
Lilia raises an eyebrow. âHmm?â
âY-Youâre really smooth,â you blurt out before you can stop yourself. âLike, catching me so easily and looking at me like that. Itâsâitâs really unfair.â
He chuckles softly, clearly entertained by your flustered state. âUnfair, you say?â
âYeah, likeâlike, youâre so effortlessly cool and charming, and Iââ You freeze, suddenly realizing what youâre saying. You clamp your mouth shut, but itâs too late. The words are out, and your brain has completely short-circuited.
And then, before you even know whatâs happening, the words just spill out of you in a panicked rush. âOkay, I like you! No, waitâI think Iâm in love with you! I mean, how could I not be? Youâre so amazing, and I justâOh god, Iâm confessing! Iâm confessing right now, arenât I? This is a confession. Oh no, this is terrible. I didnât mean toââ
You feel your entire body heat up as you bury your face in your hands, completely mortified. Of all the ways you couldâve confessed your feelings to Lilia, this had to be the worst possible way. You werenât ready! You were supposed to be calm and collected, not blurting it out after getting caught in a tree!
For a moment, thereâs silence. And then, you hear the softest chuckle from Lilia. His arms tighten around you slightly, pulling you just a little closer.
âYouâre adorable,â he says, his voice soft and full of warmth.
You peek through your fingers, confused. âHuh?â
âIâve known for a while that your feelings for me were more than friendly,â Lilia continues, his smile gentle. âBut hearing you confess like this⌠itâs endearing.â
You blink, trying to process his words. âWaitâyouâve known?â
Lilia nods. âYouâre not as subtle as you think, my dear.â
You groan again, hiding your face in your hands once more. âThis is so embarrassingâŚâ
Lilia laughs softly, and before you know it, he leans in and presses a light, gentle kiss to your forehead. Your heart skips a beat, and you lower your hands, looking up at him in surprise.
âThereâs no need to be embarrassed,â Lilia says, his eyes soft. âIâm honored to be the one youâve chosen.â
Your heart flutters as his words sink in, and you realize that, despite your mortification, heâs⌠accepting your feelings. Heâs not teasing you or brushing it offâheâs genuinely acknowledging your confession. And more than that⌠heâs reciprocating.
âLiliaâŚâ you whisper, your face still burning with embarrassment, but also with a warmth that you canât quite describe.
He leans in a little closer, his nose brushing against yours. âYou donât need to say anything more, my dear. Just know that I feel the same.â
And with that, Lilia closes the distance between you, his lips meeting yours in a soft, sweet kiss that makes your heart race even faster. All thoughts of your earlier panic melt away, replaced by the warmth of his touch and the feeling of being completely safe in his arms.
As he pulls back, youâre left staring at him, wide-eyed and breathless. Lilia smiles down at you, his eyes twinkling with amusement and affection.
âSo,â he says, his voice teasing, âwas that worth climbing a tree for?â
You blink, still dazed from the kiss. âI⌠I think so.â
Lilia laughs softly, pressing another quick kiss to your lips before setting you down on the ground. âNext time, though, perhaps weâll find a more dignified setting for your confessions, hmm?â
You groan, covering your face again as you mutter, âPlease donât remind meâŚâ
But despite your embarrassment, you canât help the small, giddy smile that creeps onto your face as you realize that, somehow, things turned out perfectly anyway.
You sit with Lilia on a bench beneath the shade of a massive oak tree, the same one he caught you from, nerves simmering beneath your calm exterior. Heâs as composed as ever, leaning back against the tree with a small, amused smile playing on his lips.
Across from you sit Malleus, Silver, and Sebek, all three watching you with varying degrees of curiosityâMalleus with calm interest, Silver with that sleepy, gentle acceptance, and Sebek with what youâre sure is the beginning of a tirade bubbling just beneath the surface.
âWe have some news,â Lilia says, breaking the silence with his usual playful tone. His hand slips into yours, squeezing lightly. âAbout us.â
Malleusâs eyes light up with interest, his draconic gaze honing in on the subtle intertwining of your hands with Liliaâs. âNews?â he repeats, leaning forward slightly. âWhat sort of news?â
You exchange a glance with Lilia, and he gives you a nod, as if to say go on, itâs safe. Taking a deep breath, you steel yourself and blurt out, âWeâre together. Like, romantically.â
Thereâs a beat of silence.
Then Malleusâs eyes widen, his entire face brightening with delight. âTruly?â he asks, a rare, genuine smile spreading across his face. âThat is wonderful news! You will be joining the family then?â
You blink, momentarily thrown off by how happy he is. âUh, wellâeventually, I guess. We havenât exactly planned a wedding yetâŚâ
âBut when we do,â Lilia interjects smoothly, eyes glinting with amusement, âyou will be the first to receive an invitation, Malleus.â
Malleus beams, the delight practically radiating off him like sunlight. âI would expect no less. To witness your unionâah, it will be a grand day.â
Meanwhile, Silver gives you both a small, approving nod. His expression is calm, though thereâs a softness in his eyes that shows heâs happy for you. âIâm glad,â he says, his voice as gentle as ever. âFather deserves someone who makes him happy. And you⌠you seem to do that.â
Your heart warms at the approval from Silver. âThanks, Silver,â you say, offering him a smile in return.
And then thereâs Sebek.
For a moment, he just stares at you and Lilia, his mouth working as if heâs trying to form words. You brace yourself for the inevitable protest, expecting him to shout something about how inappropriate it is, or how you could never be good enough for Lilia, orâ
âYouâŚâ Sebek finally speaks, though his tone is less outraged than you anticipated. He scowls, but thereâs an undeniable hint of reluctant acceptance in his eyes. âYouâre together, then?â
Lilia nods, his smile never wavering. âIndeed, Sebek.â
Sebek inhales deeply, closing his eyes as if preparing for some kind of inner battle. You can almost hear him wrestling with his instincts, wanting to object but also unable to deny the truth of the situation. After a long pause, he finally exhales and mutters, âWell⌠I suppose⌠if it makes Master Lilia happy, thenâŚâ
Youâre about to breathe a sigh of relief when Sebek opens his eyes again, pointing an accusatory finger at you. âBut that does not mean you should grow complacent! Just because Master Lilia has chosen you does not mean you are exempt from proving yourself worthy!â
Lilia laughs softly at Sebekâs stubbornness, and you canât help but grin. âOf course, Sebek,â you say, teasing him lightly. âIâll do my best to live up to your high standards.â
Sebek huffs, crossing his arms. âSee that you do.â
Despite his bluster, you can tell heâs not truly upset. Thereâs a begrudging acceptance in his stance, the same way someone might finally accept that their favorite hero isnât perfect, but still worthy of respect. Sebek might not be able to fully wrap his head around the idea of you and Lilia being together, but deep down, you can tell he doesnât disapprove. Not really.
Malleus, meanwhile, is still beaming. âI look forward to your wedding,â he says, sounding genuinely excited. âIt will be a grand celebration. And I will be the first to celebrate your union.â
You laugh, finally feeling the tension melt away. âYouâll be the first to get an invitation, donât worry.â
Lilia squeezes your hand again, his eyes warm as he looks at you. âIndeed,â he says softly, âand I think it will be a lovely celebration.â
As you sit there, surrounded by Liliaâs peculiar little family, you canât help but feel a swell of emotion. For all their eccentricitiesâMalleusâs dragon-like mannerisms, Silverâs sleepy but sincere approval, and Sebekâs stubborn loyaltyâyouâve somehow found yourself among people who care. Who, in their own ways, are happy to see you and Lilia together.
And as you glance at Lilia, whoâs still watching you with that fond, amused expression, you realize something important: this makeshift family of fae and knights⌠theyâve accepted you.
Flaws and all.
The living room felt a little too tense for your taste today. You were sprawled out on a chair, arms crossed, listening to the absurd conversation that seemed to have spiraled out of control.
Malleus, sitting at the head of the table, had the "serious prince" expression that made you roll your eyes every time you saw it. Lilia was perched on the back of his chair, his legs dangling, thoroughly amused by the current predicament. Sebek stood in his usual soldier-like stance, ready to protect everyone from... squirrels, apparently. And Silver was doing his best to stay upright while leaning on a wall. He was losing that battle.
âItâs time to discuss the prophecyâ Malleus said, his voice carrying an ominous weight you found ridiculous. âThe Squirrel Plague will bring misfortune. Entire kingdoms will fall to their tiny paws.â
You blinked. âWeâre seriously talking about squirrels?â
Lilia nodded with an overly grave face. âIndeed, my dear. Squirrels are resourceful creatures. Vicious even, if the stories are true.â
Sebek puffed up his chest, eyes blazing with his trademark fervor. âMY LORD, IF THOSE RODENTS BELIEVE THEY CAN THREATEN YOUâ"
You leaned forward, waving your hand dismissively. âAlright, alright, let's not hype up the squirrels too much, okay? This whole situation is ridiculous.â
Silver, who had just about managed to pry his eyes open, muttered, âItâs not just the squirrels. I heard some people talking about... uh, the Saint being accused of spying or something.â
The room fell into silence for a second, everyone digesting that little bombshell.
Liliaâs grin widened as if the idea of spies delighted him. âSpies, you say? This is getting quite intriguing.â
You groaned, pinching the bridge of your nose. âYeah, no thanks. Squirrels are bad enough, but spies? Iâm not dealing with this.â
Malleus turned towards you, a slight frown on his lips. âI assumed you wished to stay here. You havenât mentioned wanting to leave before.â
You sighed, shrugging. âI mean, I don't have any attachments to this place. I stayed because you guys were here. But right now, let's bounce. Immediately. The squirrels can have this place.â
Silver, rubbing his eyes, nodded. âThey're right. Itâs a lot of hassle, and honestly, the squirrels are starting to weird me out. I saw one trying to chew through the wall this morning.â
Sebek turned to Silver with his mouth agape. âA SQUIRREL DARED TO ATTACK OUR DOMAIN?!â
Lilia chuckled, nodding. âTheyâre getting bolder, indeed. I even had one throw an acorn at me this morning. It was a declaration of war, I tell you.â
You waved your hands at them. âGuys, seriously. I donât care if weâre at war with the squirrels. I just donât want to be here. Briar Valley sounds much nicer, doesnât it? No plagues, no spy accusations, no rabid rodents.â
Malleus blinked at you, then slowly smiled. âIf you wish to leave, then thereâs no reason for us to stay. I thought perhaps you'd not want to leave the place you grew up in, that you would be attached.â
âAttached?â You gestured dramatically at the window, where you swore you could see a squirrel watching with beady little eyes. âNope. Iâm only attached to you four, and Iâm not risking my life for some acorn-flinging rodents.â
Silver yawned, already giving in. âI say we go. Less hassle, more sleep.â
Lilia gave a theatrical sigh leaning on Malleus. âWell, I suppose the adventure ends here. Back to Briar Valley it is! And Iâll be sure to bring along some acorns... perhaps we can keep the spirit of battle alive.â
Sebek, his voice still full of misplaced enthusiasm, nodded fiercely. âIF MY LORD DECIDES TO RETURN, THEN I SHALL ENSURE OUR JOURNEY IS WITHOUT PERIL! THE SQUIRRELS SHALL NOTââ
You interrupted with a grin. âYes, yes, Sebek. Youâll protect us from the squirrels. Good job.â
Lilia hopped off Malleusâs chair, already halfway to the door. âIâll go prepare the portal. Who knows, maybe we can get there in time for the fireflies.â
You got up too, stretching and giving one last look at the living room. âI think Iâve had enough of prophecies, plagues, and espionage.â
Lilia grins "Maybe we could have our wedding in Briar Valley". Malleus, now entirely on board, nodded with regal finality. âThen we shall return to Briar Valley. I trust the squirrels will not miss us.â
Lilia snickered, and you felt him squeeze your shoulder. âPerhaps we should bring a souvenir,â he mused. âA squirrel, perhaps, as a reminder of this peculiar little chapter of our lives.â
You shook your head, laughing. âI think Iâd rather forget it altogether.â
With that, you and your four favorite Briar Valley residents leftâleaving behind the squirrels, the spies, and every bit of drama that had nothing to do with you. Peace, it turned out, was just a portal away.
With that, the group made their decisionâno heroic stand against the prophecy, no attempts to sort out spy dramas. Just a swift, sensible retreat to where things were far less complicated. And honestly? That suited you just fine.
Alright! I liked writing this a lot, It's not as chaotic as my other isekai ones but I like how it turned out!
Also if the formatting is off, I'm so sorry but I fell spectacularly on my ass while ice-skating and can't sit long enough to edit on my laptop.
Also quick poll for the next trash novel one, I'll definitely finish all of them, this is just for which one should I post first. They're all almost done.

IT STARTED WITH THE CAT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Previous Part 9. (Current)
Note: I struggle writing this part since i never had any pet in my life so I just asked around what do vets do during visits and did some research here and there and ultimately just write i think what would happen đ¤ˇââď¸ Also, the some scenes are inspired by those vet meme hehehe itâs funnier in my head trustđ¤
Cat distribution system featuring Phainon.
In which⢠The Deliverer of Amphoreus is suddenly transported to your home as a cat
Holding each pet carrier on your arms, you walked inside the clinic. You roamed your eyes around and noticed that there wasnât that many people waiting at the lobby.
How fortunate, you cheered inwardly.
You remembered setting this appointment around 4:30pm in hopes that there arenât many people in the clinic around this time. You just didnât want to wait on a long queue.
You walked towards the desk and saw the familiar staff who you asked to set the schedule for today.
âHello,â you greeted her, smiling. âIâm here for the appointment I scheduled yesterday.â
âHi.â she greeted back. âOf course! Can I get the name who made the appointment?â
You said your name and gestured to the bags youâre holding. âI scheduled a checkup for both of them. Princess,â you gestured towards the pink bag, â and Blue.â You introduced.
âThis will be their first checkup so I am quite excited.â
âHello there cuties, nice to meet you both.â She greeted and took a peek at the bag. âA Pomeranian and a Ragdoll, what a pretty little fluffballs.â
She then clicked few keys on the keyboard before taking few papers out. âSince you had said that this is their first checkup, weâll do some bloodwork together.â
âWhat about vaccines? Do they get to have them?â You asked.
âWell, that depends on their age. Can you tell me how old are they?â
âAbout thatâ I just recently had them. A family friend canât take care of them anymore so I volunteered to take them in and didnât bother to ask more questions.â
Yeah, thatâs the brightest lie you can think of. You just canât tell them you found Blue on a box and Princess was just a stray who followed Blue back home during his escapade either, thatâs hella suspicious.
âOh, thatâs ok. Weâll just bring that up to the doctor.â She took a pen out. âI just need to ask you some questions about Princess and Blue before we can bring them in for checkup.â
As you answered her questions, Phainon and Mydei began to piece the bits of information on the situation they found themselves in.
Vet appointment is basically a checkup you planned for them. Albeit they felt happy for your concern, thereâs just this nagging feeling that makes their fur stand.
Was it the atmosphere of this place? Phainon wandered his eyes to see as much as he could. No thatâs not itâ this place feels oddly cozy.
The people perhaps? Mydei remembered how welcoming the person behind the desk. Also not it.
Thereâs just something wrong with the situation. Something they havenât foreseen perhaps?
But come to think of it, this world doesnât possess powers like those back in Amphoreus. Phainon remembered Hyacine, a well-known healer from the Twilight Courtyard. She possessed an ability that aids her in nursing people back to health which is clearly something this world lacks.
Then, how on Amphoreus Nikadorâs left but cheek would they perform this check up?
Deep in thought, they didnât noticed that you had already stopped talking nor they did felt the bag was being lifted, transporting them to the room where the vet and other staffs are waiting.
You were greeted by the smell of disinfectants as you entered the room.
Inside, there are staffs that are currently attending to other animals. Two of which are besides the vet who youâve already met.
You saw them took the bags from Ms. Andieâthe desk receptionist from earlierâ towards the clean silver table in the middle.
âSo for today, what weâll be doing is a checkup for these twoâPrincess Ginger and Mr. Blue Balls?â The vet asked as he slowly opened both bags.
You made a sound of agreement and leaned closer to the table. You saw how Blue widened his eyes and hissed when he felt himself being lifted by one of the staff while Princess kept wiggling like a worm on the hands of the other.
You laughed at them. âThis is their first vet visit Doc, so they might feel anxious.â
Anxious is one word to put it.
Mydei never felt this kind of want to bite some hands off until now. So stop grabbing him before he do!
Phainon and Mydei had themselves lowered to the table, hands still firm around their bodies as it held them down, although also trying to ease them at the same time.
Everything started to feel scary now. Why does it feel like they are some fish on a chopping board? That eerie light from the ceiling didnât even comfort them a bit.
The vet smiled. âItâs alright. Itâs actually quite a common occurrenceâ be it first or returning patients for annual visits.â
Phainon and Mydei felt their bodies being positioned. One of their front legs was held out.
They saw the vet took something. It was a sharp, silver needle. âSo letâs start with blood labs before taking the vitals and other assessments. Weâll do the vaccination last.â
They could only watch themselves helplessly getting pinned, agony painted their eyes.
No matter how Phainon tried to wiggle and meowed sharply, he just canât. He felt a sharp poke on his leg, and saw how his blood was drawn.
It doesnât hurt as much he thought it was but it was uncomfortable. He looked at Mydei to see how he was faring. And, well-he did try to show them the might of a Kremnoan.
The effort was deeply appreciated my friend, Mydeimos.
Youâd lie if you say you didnât feel bad. And youâd also lie if you say you didnât find it funny too. At best, you can try to calm them down and ease them a little.
âItâs ok Blue, Princess. You guys are strong and itâll be over soon.â They whimpered. Welp, you tried.
Next was the vitals and assessment, as what Mydei heard the vet said earlier. This shouldnât be that alarming right? It doesnât sound ominous like blood lab is. Just probably checking if heâs healthy whatnot?
Look at him human. Do your worst and letâs get over it!
He saw the vet took some kind of itemâa bit shorter than that before, pointed but not sharp.
âŚwhatâs that? Whereâs that supposed to go-
Mydei watched in horror as the assistant who held the Deliverer lifted his tail to give the vet an easier access to insert the item in one swift motion to his ass.
Phainon immediately wailedâ loud. Ear piercing meow and even trembled, paws extended outwards.
Something cold was just inserted in hisâ down their! Take it outtttt!!! HELPP!
From then on, everything felt blur for Phainon. Like a fallen warrior who lost to life, he let them prod him. No heâs just being dramatic but thatâs justifiedâ oh no the horrors.
Fortunately there was nothing worse than that rectal temperature, others was just a breeze from then on. He just laid there, defeated and still when he felt his nape being pinched before feeling another sharp sting similar to that blood taking apparatus.
For Mydei? Well, we canât underestimate this man. The moment he saw what happened to his rivalânow defeated, he wiggled from that grasp of those who held him. With a rabid look, he bit. Wellâ tried to.
Respect to the effort the Prince had given. In the end, both warriors had laid flat in the table defeated.
You saw everything and managed to record everything too. A win for you. It was way funnier in person seeing them panicked and all.
âOk! That wraps everything.â The vet said, finishing the last vaccine shot on Princess. âYou quite have an interesting pets here. I donât see those reactions often.â
âHehe yes they are.â You replied. âSo when do we need to schedule the next visit Doc?â
âŚNext visit? Their ears twitch. Thereâs still next time?!
âWeâll do few more before just annually.â He replied. âJust to finish the vaccine doses.â
âAh- thatâs alright.â Another expenses but you can handle that. You hoped. Never thought pets can be this expensive.
âI would also like to ask if you have any plans to get them neutered?â The vet asked. âAccording to their assessments earlier, they turned out to be an adult Ragdoll and Pomeranian.â
âNeutered as in getting their balls cutoff right?â
Mydei barked alarmed, so did Phainon. What do you mean by that neutered? Do you plan to castrate them?!
Phainon felt something shifted insideâ wanting to come out, wanting to defend. Crawling from his chest, wanted to be released from the shackles that repressed itâs primalâ
âI donât think they like that suggestion Doc.â You continued, and unknowingly prevented a catastrophe.
After some formalities, you saw themâthe assistantsâ returned holding the bags you used to carry Princess and Blue.
Giving Princess a last pet, the one who held him laughed, âYouâre quite a tough Princess, arenât you?â Before gently placing him inside despite the growls Princess gave.
Phainon didnât let anyone touching him anymore and simply zoomed right inside the bag.
They are not staying at this place any longer and neither are they coming back. Again.
âSnowy? Thank the Titans youâre ok!â Voices chorused inside the bag. Phainon was just too shocked to react.

Hi!! Since youâre taking Date Everything requests, could you please do some cuddling headcanons for Jean Loo, Cam, and Tony?
[I will try my best, I sadly have only gotten Cam's Friendship route and the other two I have gotten the hate routes sadly Ăş^Ăş But I am confident that I can write something up for all of them, especially our dear Trashcan!]
Cuddling Time 2 [Date Everything x GN Reader]
[Feat; Jean Loo, Cam & Tony] [Divider Credit]
đ Cam đ
- He acts rough and tough, even leaning on mean on some occasions but once you two get to know each other? He's a real cuddle bug, he loves having you close by and on hard days he asks to be the little spoon for the night. Don't tease him about it, it's a sensitive topic for him to be vulnerable just hold him close and enjoy having him there
- He pulls you on top of himself, arms wrapping around your hips as he lets you use him as a personal mattress. Which is the perfect opportunity to play with his face or poke his face, he will huff and playfully try to bite your fingers until you tire yourself out
- He smells quiet nice actually for someone who's a Trashcan, he would never admit it but he is a bit self-conscious over his smell. Especially since some others be it in your home or outside would complain about it often, so he always makes sure to get some perfume or get a shower if Johnny lets him
- If you ask him about it he will answer honestly, though it might take some time to convince him even a little that you aren't that bothered by his natural smell (which is often a mix of take-out, papers & the occasional deodorant/perfume bottle, it oddly enough smells quiet nice actually?)
đ˝Jean Loo đ˝
- He's very busy with his rapping career, be it from working on another rap for his album or because of an upcoming performance but do not fret, Jean Loo always makes sure to have time for you even if it means sneaking in when you've already fallen and asleep and cuddle up to you, holding you from behind until you wake up the next morning to find him drooling onto the pillow
- But when he has time get ready to sit somewhere comfy and have him between your arms as he tells you his upcoming rap ideas for hours on end. If you wanna stop it just kiss him on the cheek and watch the master of crap freezes up for a minute but be prepared, Jean Loo never goes down without a fight, especially if it's a fight of affection and love
- When he's a big spoon he will take off his jewelry, even his trusty necklace with the Ballcock. He wants to make sure his muse is comfortable in his arms as you both hold onto the other, eyes closed as your foreheads gently collide against one another with a shared short laugh, he will whisper sweet nothings in french to you
đ Tony đ
- He thought for sure that he would nail your first cuddling session but to keep it short, he got a bit too excited and confused a gentle hold with an intense bear hug, say what you will but his arms truely are strong and muscular
- And speaking of them, he will carry you to a spot to cuddle with you if you even so much hint at it, nothing will stop him to share some quality time with you (except maybe if someone needs fixing immideantly and even then it's only if it's an emergency. But while he reluctantly goes he will make sure everyone hears his long sighs as he promise to come back soon as fast as he can)
- Tony in general is very muscular, his arms aren't the most comfortable to rest again but his chest? A perfect spot, especially when his arms snake around you and he holds you in such a secure grip. You ever need a slight, gentle squeeze? He can give you it and it feels almost like a weighted blanket but better since you can hear his heart speeding up whenever he hears you sigh and relax further into his hold

I think the idea of Dick actually being Lex Luthorâs original test clone is fun. Like heâs the original clone thatâs half Lex and half Clark. Maybe Lex thought he wasnât developing Kryptonian powers, or maybe he just decided that he wanted to try full Kryptonian clone next and he got bored of the half Kryptonian clone he didnât really want. Dick was a test to prove cloning could work. Lex didnât actually want a child that was only half Kryptonian.
So he tells a lab tech to get rid of the baby. What he meant was for the tech to dispose of the baby. He didnât realize the lab tech took the baby and gave it to a couple he knew that worked in a circus.
So Dick is raised not knowing heâs actually a clone. But then when Bruce takes him in, he thinks thereâs something so oddly familiar about Dick. He canât put his finger on it right away, but he looks like someone Bruce knows. Maybe a couple someones. It drives Bruce nuts until he finally just runs a DNA test to see if maybe the Graysons had some relatives Bruce knew, maybe Dick had some extended family that he might want to get to know.
But then it comes back that heâs a match for both Lex Luthor and Superman. And Dick is so confused, because heâs eight.
Bruce figures it out almost immediately. He tries very gently to explain it to Dick.
Dick freaks out and gets upset at first, because heâs sad his parents werenât really his parents, but Bruce promises him that they must have loved him so much if they raised him like their own while knowing he wasnât really their biological baby. Then he gets upset that Lex Luthor is his dad, because Lex is a bad guy, and Dick met him at a gala a few weeks ago and he was mean and called Dick a circus monkey.
Bruce spends several days comforting Dick about the whole thing. The fact that heâs half Superman helps him feel better. But he doesnât want Superman to be mad at him for being his half-clone. And if Superman decides to take him away to raise him, Dick doesnât really want to leave Bruce. He likes Bruce. He likes the manor. He likes Alfred. He likes being Robin. He doesnât want to be a Superboy.
But Bruce convinced him to tell Clark anyway. And Dick is so nervous and he makes Bruce hold him the entire time they talk to Clark, and he hides his face in Bruceâs neck when Clark freezes and doesnât say anything for a few minutes.
âWell,â Clark says after a few minutes, clearing his throat. Heâs only met Dick a couple times now, and he hates that the boy who had been so excited to meet him at first is now scared of him. âI suppose if I was going to have a half-clone, Iâm glad itâs you, Dickie.â
Dick is still a little freaked out, and now heâs getting upset, and he pulls his face away from Bruceâs neck to ask Clark in a teary voice, âAm I gonna end up bald like Lex?â
Clark lets out a startled laugh, then moves closer to ruffle Dickâs hair.
âNah,â Clark teases him. âMy genes are clearly much stronger than his. Thatâs why youâre so handsome.â
Dick smiles at him, but then goes back to hiding his face in Bruceâs neck. Bruce pats his back, then turns to Clark.
âHe wanted to make sure that you wouldnât take him away from me,â Bruce tells him.
âOh,â Clark gasps, âoh, um. No, no, I wonât take him away. I think - youâd be much better for him, anyway.â
âYou donât hate me, right?â Dickâs question is muffled.
âNo,â Clark says quickly. âI could never hate you, Dickie. Never.â
âSee?â Bruce whispers to Dick, planting a hand firmly on the back of Dickâs head. âI told you everything would be alright.â
Then years later, when Dick finds Superboy when heâs investigating Cadmus with Wally and Kaldur, heâs so determined to save Superboy. Because thatâs basically his brother. That is his brother. And he tells Clark as much when Clark gets weird about it and gets all standoffish with Conner (who Dick names almost immediately).
Idk I just like the idea of Dick eventually messing with Clark bc he gets mad about how mean heâs being to Conner, and Dick eventually scares the crap out of Clark because he sneaks up on him and asks in a creepy, deep voice, âAm I a real boy, papa?â And thatâs what gets Clark to finally get over himself and go have a real conversation with Conner.
I also like Dick immediately claiming Conner as his brother. Except he gets mad that heâs technically older but Conner is physically older.
âYouâre the little brother!â Dick insists.
âIâm much bigger than you.â
âThats not the point! Iâm the big brother!â
âHmm. No thanks.â
Conner has learned the fine art of trolling from Dick himself. Dick regrets teaching him so well.

Transfems are just the cutest, most unhinged little chaos gremlins.
I say that with love and the shared knowledge that I, too, am one. The longer I spend around other trans girls, the more my perfectly practiced, well-spoken persona just⌠dissolves. My big words evaporate. My once crisp sentences turn into flustered babbles, excited squeaks, hand flails, and an uncontrollable urge to curl up in someone's lap, whimper softly, and pretend Iâm some sort of catgirl glitching out in real time.
Thereâs something so unholy about the way we communicate. Every trans girl Iâve met has that same internal struggle: the desire to infodump so badlyâto explain the lore, the mechanics, the oddly specific gender philosophy behind her favorite characterâbut as soon as she opens her mouth, the words get stuck. So instead, she just locks eyes with you, mouth parted, energy buzzing, and then⌠short circuits. Silence.
And you knowâyou know she was about to drop the most unhinged, deeply insightful take about gender, trauma, or why a certain magical girl arc is actually the trans awakening pipeline. But instead she just stares at you like a deer in gay headlights, then nervously giggles and goes, âI forgot what I was gonna say,â while shifting in her seat like sheâs trying not to melt into a puddle of blushy euphoria.
And of course, you just wanna grab her by the cheeks, kiss her forehead, and say, âItâs okay, baby, just make the little meow noise and Iâll understand.â Because somehow, you do.
Dating, befriending, or simply existing around transfems feels like living in a magical girl anime written by queer goblins. There's tears and tiddies and tea. There's snuggles and pillows struggles, gender envy, and late-night cuddles that blur into soft kisses and whispered affirmations. It's chaotic, deeply autistic, and unreasonably hot.
And honestly? I wouldn't want it any other way.

Idea for an OC, just a little draft idea right now (for this to work, reader speaks mandarin)
A foreigner reader who goes to a smaller city in Japan to live with his brother after he married a Japanese woman. Itâs all awkward not speaking Japanese well but luckily Japanese uses a lot of traditional Chinese characters
So you manage when it comes to reading most of the time, but your speaking is very⌠childish at this stageâthe classmates at your school find it cute, and luckily you have another foreign classmate who helps you out
But because of this language barrierâyou get the wrong idea about a certain classmate your class seems to hate.. you misunderstand and think theyâre describing him as cool
When really theyâre saying heâs fucking scary, but you donât understand why. Mainly because you canât tell that he sounds like a yakuza member
So when youâre paired with him in a group project, everyone is âmourningâ you while you are excited. Heâs very handsome (when heâs not doing an ugly face, he should really stop snarling, itâs not cute)
Getting him to agree for you to visit him at home was a challenge but he finally agreed. When you reached his apartment you walked inside a bit shocked to see it was a one bedroom. No parents?
But before you could even ask, he grabs your arms and presses you against the wall, his eyes narrowed. âYouâre oddly calm being near me, what, do they have a plan to ambush me or something?â
He spoke a bit too fast for you to properly understand him so you only grinned, âyes, the plan to do our homework! Everyone describes you as very organized!â
âOrganized?â
âYes⌠ć§ć (kĹsei)âŚâ
He blinks before a wolfish smile appears on his lips. âYouâre really dumb⌠they said I have an aggression problem. ćťĺ˘ (kĹsei).â
You still didnât quite understand him as you tilted your head. âWhatâs wrong with being organized?â
âDumb and cuteâŚâ his hands slowly trail down your arms to the side of your waist, his thumb digging into your skin. âHey.. so youâre not scared of me at all?â
âI am now....â
âBut your cock is saying otherwise .â
You raise an eyebrow, he keeps using words you donât understand until he looks down at your pants. You glance down and quickly blush, you had a boner in your pants.
Shit.
The plot is literally just delinquent boy with innocent reader.. with reader learning heâs really into being accosted and manhandled by a handsome guy
Whatcha ya think? Yay or nay?

After the war, Tsunade was more than happy to hand over the Hokage position to Kakashi. Especially knowing just how much he didnât want it. Tormenting him over and over again with mundane tasksâafter all, she knew what it was like to have a mountain of paperwork stacked on your desk from morning to night.
As Kakashi skimmed through the documents, one finger pressed between his brows from stress, he sensed Tsunadeâs presence before she even entered. Itâs not like he didnât already know the rhythm of her footsteps.
âWhat a lovely day to be Hokage, donât you think, Kakashi?â
You followed her into the office slowly, hands folded in front of you, gaze slightly lowered.
âHa-ha, really funny, Tsunade. Sure you donât mind switching plaââ
But the words caught on his tongue as his eyes liftedâat first set on Tsunadeâuntil he saw you, standing just behind her.
Tsunade gave him an almost wicked smile, bringing her hands together like she was about to applaud.
âToday, we have a new visitor. Or should I say⌠a new member of the village.â
Kakashi narrowed his eyes. Who are you?
He couldnât quite see your faceânot until you lifted it, leaving him utterly speechless.
No, he didnât know you. Hell, there was no way he wouldnât recognize you if he had. He didnât think heâd ever seen a woman more beautiful. Your features were like something out of his grandmotherâs stories about angelic beingsânot quite human, radiating warmth with every graceful movement, mesmerizing without even trying.
But knowing his nature, Tsunade didnât catch much of a reaction on his face (well, the half of it not covered by his mask), except for the slight widening of his eyes. She didnât know that Kakashiâs cheeks had flushed with boyish embarrassment, mercifully hidden. Saving him.
And if his mind wasnât already halfway to breaking, you started to speakâwith a tone so soothing it felt like balm to his soul. He couldâve listened to it forever. Though, oddly, your intonation felt foreign.
You said simply, âNice to meet you, Hokage.â
Kakashi responded almost instantly, voice flat but carrying a clear eagerness.
âThe pleasure is mine.â A short pause. âWho are you?â
As your eyes were still locked on eachother , Tsunade couldnât help but chuckle, barely managing to snap him out of the trance youâd put him in.
âDonât get too excited yet, Kakashi. Sheâs a civilian refugee from the nearby forest. Got separated from her people after the war. She doesnât speak our language.â
âWhat?!â Kakashi cleared his throat, his voice cracking slightly from how shocked heâd sounded. âWell⌠thatâs a shame. Iâll make sure everythingâs arranged so she feels at home here.â
Tsunade answered in a dismissive tone, heading for the door.
âGreat. Because Iâm leaving her under your responsibility anyway. Iâll only handle her trainingâher abilities are far too interesting to be taught by anyone other than me.â
But Kakashi didnât hear anything past the first part. His responsibility? He couldnât say he was unhappy to hear that. But his primal thoughts responded immediately: How the hell am I supposed to control myself around someone like you every day? Damn it, Tsunade.
You bowed respectfully before following Tsunade out of his office.
Only after you left did Kakashi sink back into his chair, head tilted up as he exhaled deeply, staring blankly at the ceiling.
ŕź
Kakashi had spent the past few days hunting for a bookâany bookâthat could translate your language into theirs. Not that he cared about the reports piling up on his desk, now doubled in number thanks to his little quest. At least now heâd have a solid excuse when he inevitably asked Tsunade for help.
Or the fact that heâd spent more time reading about your origins than he had with his beloved comfort book, Icha-Icha. Which, frankly, was far more concerning.
He managed to carve out a break in his schedule and made his way toward your group. Kurenai was all smiles (and this time, it wasnât just because Asuma was sitting beside her, toothpick tucked at the corner of his mouthâa habit heâd picked up to help quit smoking, something heâd promised Kurenai since she became pregnant).
No, her smile was clearly directed at youâyou, dressed in something completely unexpected, completely contradictory to what Kakashi had imagined you might wear. A stunning, long dress that looked like it belonged to a fairy. Not that he was complainingâyour training clothes, most likely chosen intentionally by Tsunade to distract him even further, already fit you perfectly.
The dark green, form-fitting outfit, complete with empty pockets likely meant for kunai (their weapons stock hadnât been updated in a month), hugged your body like it was tailored for you.
He struggled to pull his gaze away from youâthough you somehow sensed it immediately, your eyes turning toward him first as he approached with calm, measured steps.
Asuma gave Kakashi a slight nod of acknowledgment, accompanied by Kurenaiâs warm greeting. Tsunade, hand on her hip, was the first to speak.
âRough nights, huh?â she remarked, clearly referring to the exhaustion under Kakashiâs eyesâworsened ever since he began researching you far more than he probably should have.
Kakashi just shot her a warning glare, his expression friendly enough for public display, before she continued.
âLooks like our foreigner here has an inclination for medical jutsu. But also⌠brute force. Ironic, huh? Just like me and Sakura.â
The first one seemed fitting for you. But the second? He couldnât picture you splitting the earth in two with a single punch. The more he learned about you, the deeper he dug himself into the pit of his barely-contained curiosity.
Still, his voice tried to remain neutral.
âThatâs good news.â Then he added, âI found a dictionary translating her language into ours. Weâre going to try teaching her to speak it⌠but also teach ourselves enough to show some respect for her homeland.â
He paused, collecting himself before finally meeting your gazeâthose intense, difficult-to-hold eyesâand addressed you, a little uncertain, in your native language.
âNice to meet you, Y/N. I hope weâll get along well.â
His heart nearly jumped out of his chestânot just because you spoke back, but because you smiled for the first time. He didnât think it was possible for you to be more beautiful⌠and yet.
You responded with a hint of excitement, your eyes sparkling sweetly.
âNice to meet you too! Iâll do my best to become one of you. Thank you for welcoming me!â
Well, Kakashi thought, looks like Iâm not the only one who made an effort to learn her language.
His eyes softened, reflecting your smile with one of his ownâgenuine, though subtle.
Neither of you noticed the way the others were watching, a knowing look in their eyes. It was like no one else existed in that momentâjust the two of you, with a delicate thread of tension starting to form between your worlds.
But Tsunade had to ruin it, a playful disgust bubbling up inside her at all the sweetness.
âWell, my time here is up. Good luck with your teaching, Hokage.â
She tossed Kakashi a mocking look, while Kurenai and Asuma followed her outâsensing ttoo, that it was probably time to leave.
And in that moment, Kakashi felt just a little helpless, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly before turning to you again.
âAhm⌠okay. Letâs find a more comfortable place before I introduce you to Konohaâs world. Come with me.â
You didnât understand half of what he saidâbut the tone in his voice was enough for your feet to follow him without question.
ŕź
Kakashi couldnât think of anywhere safer to take you than his office. Even though it feels a bit too intimate for him to share his personal space this much, he figures itâs necessaryâif he really wants to help you.
âAhm, tea?â he glances over his shoulder as he pours himself a cup of green tea, gesturing toward the teapot so you understand what he means. You nod in agreement, a small smile playing on your lips as you curiously echo,
âTea?â
He quickly turns to pour you a cup too, a little flustered by how cute you are in your cluelessness.
He hands it to you while maintaining eye contact. You accept it with a smile. His lips press into a thin line as he awkwardly moves to sit in his chair, shrugging off his Hokage cloakâwhich he finds a little stupid sometimes wearing it.
He doesnât realize youâve had red ears since the moment you walked into the room.
He glances at you again, unsure where to begin. But your curious gaze manages to snap him out of the hypnosis your eyes creates..
âRight, so⌠we should start with language first.â He looks at you for a second before translating it into your language and writing it on a piece of paper with his pen. You canât really see from where youâre sitting, and he notices.
âC-come closer.â
He gestures for you to sit next to him, but ends up standing and dragging your chair over himself.
Damn.
He realizesâtoo lateâthat this was a mistake. His suspicion is confirmed the second he catches a hint of your scent. Or maybe itâs just your natural smell. It makes him a little dizzy, but he composes his voice quickly.
âHere and hereââ he says, circling the words he just translated on the page.
You respond with a short but genuine, âOkay.â
After a few hours, Kakashi managed to pretend your presence doesnât affect him. His usual seriousness returned. Youâve made it past basic expressions and greetings, which is good. He noticed you have a strong memoryâthough heâd love to know what your real personality is like.
Though his stoicism came back and heâs no longer delusional about what he feels around you, something unusual for him, but, on your endâyouâve grown more observant.
Since meeting him, youâve started unconsciously seeking him out with your eyes whenever heâs around, and his voice sticks in your mind more than anyone elseâs. Of course, you never want to disrespect the Hokage, but stillâitâs hard not to wonder what he looks like without the mask. Or even deeper: who he is beneath the mask and title. How the scar under his eye only intensifies his gaze, pulling you out of the present moment sometimes. Your thoughts always arrive at the same quiet, unwavering conclusion. âBeautiful.â
Which is why, by the end of the session, youâre a little distracted. Youâre listeningâbut not really. You nod, but donât fully comprehend.
Kakashi has started to pick up on your little reactions and expressions. His experience reading peopleâespecially what they donât sayâhelps too.
So when you go quiet, his brows furrow slightly. He flips through the dictionary, then starts speaking slowly but clearly:
âThatâs enough for today. You look tired.â
Blink. Another blink.
Now youâre no longer spacing outâyour cheeks flush, and Kakashi canât tell if itâs because of how close you are to his face or because he caught you not paying attention, even though your eyes had been tracing every curve of his face.
âSorry, IâIââ
You quickly get up, prompting him to stand too. You subtly wipe your sweaty palms on the tight, uncomfortable pants youâre still wearing from your intense training with Tsunade.
 Impressive woman, you think.
Kakashi watches as you move to the other side of the desk, bowing slightly, and say,
âThank you!â
What surprises you is that you think you heard something like a chuckle from him. Oh, he should laugh more.
Kakashi speaks just as youâre about to leave:
âNo worries. See you tomorrow.â
You at least understood the first part before stepping out of the room, not forgetting to give him a grateful smile.
After the door clicks shut and your footsteps fade, Kakashi lets out a breath, shoulders relaxing as he stands in the middle of the office, still facing the door you left through.
But somehow, now, itâs differentâbecause he smirked. As he sets his ridiculously big hat down on his desk, his hair tousled in all directions, a thought settles in.
So Iâm not the only one affected by your presence
ŕź
Today, Kakashi decided to show you the most sacred places in Konoha. First, he waited for you after your training with Tsunade, leaning against a tree with his arms lazily crossed.
Itâs his day off, so his clothes are finally normal now.
Though âthat black t-shirt without sleevesâ distracted you instantly when you saw him from the training field. Your eyes avoiding him a little more, just to make sure itâs not obvious that his prominent muscles, painted by that red tattoo that makes him even more attractive, are affecting your brain chemistry. You donât want to give the impression of unseriousness or, even worse, to behave inappropriately towards him.
Itâs not easy for Kakashi either â he got to see a bit of your abilities. And seeing how your chakra-enhanced strength was acting was a true sight to witness. His eyes widened especially when your small fist landed a brutal hit into the ground â taijutsu really suits you. Still, he couldnât stop his gaze when you bent down slightly to stretch your back after that hit.
Tsunade let out a theatrical sigh after how much work you did â meaning just giving you commands and pushing you to the limit â but she always loves to dramatize a little.
Her steady gaze, which defines her confidence in herself, settled on Kakashi as you both approached him.
âDay off, huh?â Looking him up and down before teasing him like she always does.
âPoor Kakashi, so little time for your disgusting books. What a shame youâll miss out on Konohaâs streets.â
Kakashi let out just an annoyed huff â their sibling-like relationship sometimes gets the best of him.
âWow, your observation skills are truly groundbreaking.â A pause. âOr not.â
Tsunade rolled her eyes at that, before he added:
âIn fact, I donât mind.â
Finally, looking at you and giving you a small smile before greeting you.
âHello. Good to see you.â
Itâs hard for him to choose the appropriate greeting expression in order not to overstep. So the words left his lips almost forced.
âHey, Hokage-sama!â
You bow politely, while Kakashi slightly widens his eyes and waves his hands in disapproval, a bit embarrassed.
âHah, no need forââ
Tsunade lets out a snort at that, tossing her ponytails over her shoulder with her usual assertiveness.
She didnât bother to announce her leaving after seeing how you both act like teenagers â even if itâs quite a show â the slow build between you that she anticipated from the first time the lone wolf Kakashi laid eyes on you.
Youâre not different either â women can tell pretty quickly when another woman has a thing for a man, you donât even have to speak the same language.
ŕź
While you were both immersed in each otherâs presence, your eyes sometimes slipped down to his body, which drew too much attention. Youâre almost ashamed to admit you donât want anyone else to see him right now or admire him. Not that he noticed anything, especially now, focused only on taking you to as many places as possible and explaining things.
âSo ⌠itâs ⌠a âŚâ
Your words start forming much better than before â he couldnât help but feel a little proud of you.
âThatâs âŚ? Konoha Toshodokoro?
âYes, indeed.â
Even though he talks more than you sometimes, somehow it helps you understand better. Hard to believe, but you actually managed to laugh together when he tried to show you how ⌠it works, his hands miming clumsily â it was too funny how awkward he was, and for a moment you felt even closer to him.
Your laughter grew louder after he scolded you playfully:
âThatâs mean, donât laugh. Iâm trying to help.â
But his smile (too big, though â heâs lucky itâs hidden) said something else.
Meanwhile, Genma and Kotetsu were leaning against a post from a common gathering spot in Konoha.
Genma sends a side-glance to his friend, Â then returns with a sly smirk at how you two look together, laughing and walking on the streets like youâve known each other for years.
âWell, well, well. Such a sight to behold.â
Kotesu accompanies him:
âA short trip sometimes needs a break. Right, Kakashi-san?â
Kakashi felt a bit annoyed when he got pulled out of the bubble he was in with you. Even though you didnât mind, the smile was still intact on your face.
His usual demeanor brought back his rigidity.
âHello, Genma and Kotetsu-san.â
After considering their suggestion to grab a drink before heading off â seeing how Genma nods toward the place â Kakashi speaks again:
âMaybe next time. Still, thank you for your offer.â
ŕź
A year and a half after the war, things in Konoha were slowly starting to return to normal.
Missions werenât as frequent anymore, reports from other villages and management issues no longer gave Kakashi constant dark circles, and people seemed happier.
Or maybe it was just the two of you who felt that way more than others.
The truth is, for more than half a year since you arrived here, you managed to learn the language pretty well. Slowly, Kakashi realized that youâre a person impossible to avoid. You even managed to make contact with your family, but you firmly told them to come here after you.
He still doesnât understand your reason for that, because you havenât told him. He can only be glad that youâre staying here, but why?
Kakashi is a selfless man, not by choice. Life taught him to fight and help every time he could, but in the process, he sabotaged himself and never let anyone help him too much. Not that he necessarily thinks he doesnât deserve it, but heâs no longer an optimistic person â not since he was very young â and he doesnât expect miracles.
And this is where heâs wrong. But âluckâ is on his side, because youâve liked him since you arrived here. You canât say it was just his appearance, you couldnât even fully see him, since he was hidden â just like his soul.
It was because his energy warms yours, his kindness, his awareness of his surroundings, his choice of words, and the chemistry between you? It hasnât gone unnoticed by others.
Youâre not someone who hides behind things, your boldness starting to strike when Kakashi least expected.
If before you were afraid of being inappropriate, that concept doesnât exist anymore. Especially once you realized it wasnât just in your head.
While you were packing your gear into your training backpack, sitting on a tree stump, a few strands that slipped from your hair â though it was braided into two â clung to your face and made it hard to see.
Tsunade was just waiting for you to finish, her gaze had already drifted to the usual spot where Kakashi waited for you, immersed in his book, which he had kind of been ignoring these past few months.
âHow long is this little theatre  you two are putting on going to last?â
You looked at her, squinting from the sunlight behind her, not understanding the expression.
âTheatre?â
âThe play youâre putting on, with Hokage â student.â
You dodge the question, as expected.
âI think we are even friends now.â
Tsunade called your name and as you stood up, you maintained eye contact while she spoke.
âYou know Kakashi likes you, right? You are a smart woman.â Sensing your dismissive retort coming, she didnât let you speak. âKakashi is different. He faced some terrible things and will never say it out loud or directly in order to not burden another person.â
You blinked at her, your soul starting to throb violently as she confirmed what your perceptions of him already were.
As a final note, she added, âDo what you want with this, itâs completely your choice. As a suggestion, what we all see here is that you two are alike and have a connection rare to find.â
You gulped, glancing distantly at Kakashi while he had already stopped reading, trying to figure out whatâs taking so long.
Tsunadeâs seriousness surprised you at the time. But it didnât last long. When you admitted you liked him, she teased you almost every time.
Sometimes you think she created a monster. You. Because now, you act directly around Kakashi.
For example, you linger too much in his presence, you ask too many shady questions just to get to ask his opinion, you fix his hair if a leaf has landed on him. You insist on helping him with Hokage tasks even though he almost always refuses.
Which slowly kills Kakashi.
What shocked him the most was when you made him vulnerable in front of everyone during a meeting, exposing his sacrifice behavior and⌠his care.
While Kakashi was presenting the risky mission he said he had to personally undertake â even though arms supply management wasnât his responsibility, even though many suspicions confirmed that intruders started stealing them and it led to distrust between villages.
Kakashi started speaking in that firm tone no one wanted to challenge â except, of course, Tsunade. But now, you too.
âI will go to assure the safety of the shinobi in that area. We need to find the persons responsible for this.â
And you didnât think twice before daring to speak.
âAs I read about Hokage responsibilities in the rules of councilâs book (your pronunciation isnât the best yet), this doesnât seem like one.â
Kakashiâs attention shifted from Guy Sensei, who was definitely offering to come with him, to being fixed on you, slightly surprised.
âNot everything is written down. As a Hokage, you need to show people you care about their safety â and not from behind a desk.â
âIs it? Or is this your personal desire to carry everything on your own shoulders, like youâre used to?â
Everyone went quiet for a second. Until Tsunade, mockingly, gestured with her hand and said:
âA mission like this is insignificant compared to what Kakashi has been through.â
So you added, firmly, âIf itâs so insignificant, I donât think Hokage-sama himself would have a problem if I accompanied him. For his safety, of course, which is the priority.â
Asuma made a âtskâ sound with his toothpick in his mouth. As if to say indirectly, âShe got you there, mate.â
Kakashi still kept his gaze on you â your angry expression interested him so much he dismissed the others in order to speak with you.
You sat back down, still a little upset.
Kakashi took off his Hokage robes, remaining in your favorite black clothes of his, putting his hands in his pockets and starting by saying your name to get your attention.
âDare to say what happened?â
Your tone was slightly ironic, but there was more to it.
âWas I wrong?â
A pause.
âNo.â
âSo you donât disagree with me coming as a guardian? Since my safety as a villager is more important than the Hokage himself?â
Kakashi was a bit surprised, though oddly, it seemed that when youâre angry, you speak better.
âYou think Iâm irresponsible.â
âNo. I think your life is just as important as ours, not just because youâre Hokage. Youâre important. And to me, as well.â
Kakashi felt like there was no air in his lungs when he tried to breathe again.
So you added, while walking out the door with determination:
âSo from now on, youâre not doing things alone anymore, Kakashi. Not when Iâm here. Unless you want to exile me from the village.â
You slammed the door a little, and that day and night, Kakashi spent hours processing the care behind your words. As if a small door in his well-protected soul had opened, and youâd stepped right through it.
For the first time since he was born, his instinct was to make a âselfishâ decision and accept you in his life. But he still doesnât know how.
ŕź
Since then, you made Kakashi realize he wasnât alone anymore. Not just the kind of alone where youâre not surrounded by peopleâbut the kind that settles deep in your soul.
Youâd started spending time together outside of training, outside of missions. You carved yourself a quiet little space in his office. Rumors, of course, began to spread about how much time you two spent together, but everyone could see itâthis was the best thing that couldâve happened to Kakashi.
Now, the two of you were buried in your books. You were still reading historical texts about Konohaâits language, its traditionsâwhile Kakashi sighed behind his desk, flipping through todayâs mission reports.
You peeked up from your book with a small smile.
âNeed help?â
But Kakashi waved a dismissive hand without even looking up, too stressed to bother responding. You walked closer, placing your hand on his desk and leaning in.
You tilted your head slightly, watching the tension in his furrowed brows. Kakashi paused just long enough to glance at you out of the corner of his eye before going back to his work, clearly trying not to focus on how close you were.
âYou canât help, donât worry. Just some mundane, meticulous Hokage stuff,â he mumbled mostly to himself. âI donât know how Tsunade ever dealt with all of this.â
You chuckled quietly and replied with a grin, âIâm pretty sure Shizune was the one forced to do most of it.â
He huffed. âMost likely.â
Kakashi looked at you again, and his eyes betrayed him for just a momentâscanning you, lingering just a second too long.
You felt your cheeks flush, subtly tucking some hair behind your ear as you shifted and hopped up to sit on the edge of his desk, facing him.
Kakashi leaned back slightly in his chair and gave you a teasing look.
âHighly inappropriate for a shinobi, dear.â
You smirked. âLucky for you, Iâm basically your qualified assistant at this point, considering how much time I spend in here.â
Even if you let the bold words slip out, your hands were a little sweaty as you nervously fiddled with the edge of your short skirt, which barely covered the tight training shorts beneath.
He noticed. Of course he did.
âAs your qualified assistant, is your job to motivate the Hokage⌠or distract him?â
You leaned in just a little closer, smile widening as you feigned innocence.
âOh, I assure you, my intentions are entirely pure. Iâm only here to encourage the village leader. Donât tell me Iâm distracting you?â
Kakashi shook his head, half in disbelief, half amused. He cleared his throat before replying.
âWhat am I going to do with you?â
Your eyes locked with his, full of unspoken meaning. Something deeper passed between youâsomething warm, quiet, and magnetic.
ŕź
The next week bring more promises ahead.
It was a normal spring day, the kind where everything felt a little more hopeful when you looked around and saw cherry blossoms swirling over Konoha. Youâd all decided to go out for drinks and catch up.
You sat between Tsunade and Shizune. Asuma and Kushina were chatting nearby, not separated from the group but in their own little corner. Guy-senseiâwhom you adored for how much he inspired you to work harderâwas arguing with Kakashi over something ridiculous, as usual, while Iruka laughed along. Kotetsu, Genma, and Anko were too busy racing to see who could down a shot the fastest.
âKakashi, my man, why canât you accept defeat for once?â Guyâs eyes were red from laughing, his wide grin only making Kakashi roll his eyes as Guy shook him by the shoulders.
âGuy, please. For the millionth timeâyou were the one who lostââ
You cut in, feigning a shocked gasp. âThatâs a lie! I saw Guy-sensei land the final strike!â
Kakashi raised an eyebrow at your blatant betrayal, while Tsunade tossed back another shot with a smirk and Shizune giggled sweetly.
Guyâs eyes sparkled dramatically.
âSee, Kakashi?! She recognizes true effort and extraordinary talent!â
Kakashi shot you a teasing look before turning back to Guy, pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh.
âOkay, okay. You win. My ego is so crushedâI think I need to step outside and recover.â
He got up with exaggerated exasperation, shooting you a short, private glance over his shoulder before heading out.
You couldnât help but grin wider as Tsunade nudged you lightly, pretending to cough.
âRight⌠W-Well⌠Excuse me for a second, I need to use the bathroom.â
Guy gave you a thumbs-up, totally buying your excuse. The others were too distracted to noticeâexcept the girls. Even though Kushina was clinging to Asuma, she didnât miss it. She exchanged a knowing glance with Tsunade and Shizune.
You didnât bother taking the long way to make your lie believable. You walked straight outside and found Kakashi leaning against the bar wall, clearly waiting.
You brushed off a speck of nonexistent dust from your dress. The colors you wore mirrored the seasonâa pale pink and white kimono tied lazily with a floral sash that framed your figure and bared the skin above your chest, where the curve of your breasts pressed against the short, fitted dress beneath. The gold chain around your neck held a sun-shaped pendantâthe one they gave you on your one-year anniversary as a shinobi of the village.
Youâd never forget Kakashiâs gentle hands pushing your hair aside to clasp it for you. It mightâve looked like a casual moment to anyone watching, but both of you had felt your hearts about to burst out of your chests.
You stepped beside him, leaning against the wall with your shoulder.
âSobering up a little?â you asked with a soft smile.
âNot much of a drinker,â Kakashi replied. âSorry to disappoint.â
His eyes drifted across your face⌠and then, slowly, down your body. He didnât bother hiding it. Maybe the alcohol had lowered his guard a little.
âYou look beautiful tonight.â
You bit your lip, shy, glancing down before lifting your gaze with an honest smile.
âThank you. Youâre not so bad yourself.â
He shook his head and looked forward again. âYou always dodge compliments.â
You chuckled. âAnd you always deflect them.â
âGuess weâre a match.â
He meant it teasingly at firstâbut both of you froze for half a second, eyes widening at the implication.
A pause.
He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. âRight. We should go back in. The windâs getting rougher and you could catch a coldââ
âNo.â
He turned to you quickly, swallowing hard, searching your face for an answer.
âI donât think I can wait any longer.â
He looked confused. âWait for what? Did something happen?â
You shook your head, closing your eyes as your heart pounded against your ribs. You exhaled shakily, trying to steady yourself.
âNo, itâs justâKakashi.â
You looked at himâreally looked. He froze.
âKakashi, I like you. Iâve liked you since I met you.â
Did you really just say that? Or did he imagine it? That couldnât haveâ
But when he saw your face againâyour flushed cheeks, your shaky breathingâhe felt his heart almost stop.
âAre you sure you know what that meansâ?â
You cut him off. âKakashi. Yes, Iâm sure.â Your voice was firmer now, tinged with frustration. âI thought I wasnât the only one feeling this. But maybe I read it wrong. If I did, Iâm sorry. I didnât mean to make you uncomfortableââ
You started to turn awayâbut he caught your arm. In one swift motion, his other hand slipped behind your back, and before you could blink, heâd pulled his mask down and kissed you.
Your eyes widened for a moment before closing, melting into how soft his lips felt against yours.
Kakashi kissed you slowly at first, savoring every second, until your fingers tangled in his hair and you tugged gently. His mouth partedâand at the same time, you both deepened the kiss.
His tongue met yours, the taste of you overwhelming in the best way. All the tension, all the feelings heâd buriedâit poured out in that kiss. Especially when you let out a soft gasp between kisses, making him lose control for just a second.
He didnât want to rush. He didnât want the moment to be tainted by tipsy bravado, so when he finally pulled away, he kept one hand on your cheek and rested his forehead gently against yours.
You were both breathless, staring into each other. Vulnerability shimmered in your eyes. There was so much thereâtoo much to name. Your ears were ringing, your vision blurred from unshed tears.
âKakashiâŚâ
âYes,â he replied with the same intensity, his thumb softly brushing your cheek. âIâI feel the same. In case I havenât made that clear enough.â
You smiled so wide your cheeks hurt. âYou made it very clear.â
He nodded, finally stepping back, placing his hand on the small of your back to guide you toward the door.
âLetâs go back in. I canât use the wind as an excuse anymore.â
You laughed quietly as you let him guide you, eyes still glowing with loveâand you never once looked away from him.
ŕź
There hadnât been any more hesitations since then. Even though Kakashi had always been careful to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
He avoids openly affectionate gestures in public, but he stands just a little closer to youâhis presence a quiet shield.
Kakashi as Hokage makes quiet mornings more peaceful. He hands you a perfectly brewed cup of tea without a word, grounding you with his presence alone.
He insists on walking you almost everywhere, especially after work, brushing it off with a simple, âItâs on my way,â even though it's clearly not.
He notices your favorite flowers and sometimes surprises you with one, leaving it where he knows you'll find it.
He sits with you under the stars after a long day, offering advice only if you need itâjust that silent comfort that heâs here, and he always will be.
But something is missing. With not much experience, you struggle to find what exactly it is...
You both walk through the village together, the lantern lights casting a soft orange zigzag glow over the street and the breeze pleasant against the heat of an overly hot summer day.
Youâd bought yourself a fan from a stall in the village center, waving it dramatically while already crying a couple of timesâbut Kakashi was only amused by your frustration. Your pouty expression was too cute to him.
He couldnât help but glance occasionally at the slight curve of your cleavage, brought out by the heat, a bead of sweat slipping between them.
But you? Youâd started feeling insecure, not aware of his thoughtsânot that you had any experience. You didnât know if Kakashi respected you too much, or maybe⌠maybe you just werenât compatible?
Was your lack of experience that obvious? Did it not excite him? You didnât know what to think⌠especially today, when your thoughts were more tangled than usual. Not that you were trying to get his attentionâbut you'd woken up earlier just to pick your favorite dress. The first one he ever saw you in, a year ago. Your hair was softly wavy from the braids you did the night before, and a subtle line of soft blue eyeliner hugged your eyelids. And yet, you felt like youâd just finished three hours of intense training with Tsunade, in yesterdayâs clothes. Because Kakashi didnât seem to react at all. But he noticed. Like he always do.
As you stared blankly ahead, slightly tilted down, he gently nudged your shoulder.
âHello? Is somebody here?â
You looked up suddenly, as if snapped out of your thoughts, then smiledâthough it didnât quite reach your eyes.
âA-ah! Haha, She's away for a minute. Lemme check in the back for you.â
Kakashi smiled back, but it's not like you could fool him, the one of the best lie detectors alive. Still, he didnât push. Not until you reached your favorite spotâby the little fountain, where you sometimes picked wild yellow flowers while he likes to enjoyed the sun barefoot. Little moments when he actually relax. But is besides you.
But when you sat on top of a small mound of stonesâplaced by Kakashi during your last visits so youâd be more comfortableâhe didnât hesitate to break your usual routine. A strand of hair was gently tucked behind your ear by his fingers as you squinted at him, eyes narrowed from the sun, until he moved to block it with his body.
âTell me. Whatâs weighing on your heart, darling?â
You let out a breath, half a scoff, half a laughâbecause he always knows. Always, even when you donât have the words.
âFear.â
âOf what?â His reply was immediate, his gaze unwavering.
It took a moment to find the right word or the courage to say it.
âThat weâre not right for each other.â
Kakashi furrowed his brows slightly, trying to ignore the pang that hit his chest.
âWhy would you say that?â
You looked at him for a second before turning your gaze away again.
âI donât think you feel the same way I feel about you.â
Kakashi blinked a few times. That didnât make any sense. Did I miss something?
âWhat do you feel for me that I donât?â
âDesire.â
You answered quicklyâbecause if you didnât say it now, the tension in your heart might crush you.
Kakashi didnât move for a few seconds.
He bent one knee, just to see your face better, which you were trying to hide.
âYouâre trying to tell me Iâm not attracted to you?â
Your lips pressed together, nervous, and Kakashi didnât look away this time.
âIt feels that way.â
And thatâs when he realized. Heâd made a mistake. Heâd always feared heâd be seen as some frustrated, sex-obsessed jerk. Less of a man if he ever let himself show what he truly wanted.
He lowered his head to breathe, voice muffled slightly by his posture.
âWrong.â
You didnât understand, but didnât have time to be confused.
âWhat didââ
Kakashi swept you off your feet then, making you laugh from sheer surprise, your hair falling halfway over your face. âKakashi, what are you doing?â Your arms wrapped around his neck as he took two steps before taking off into the air.
You felt your heart pounding louder than your thoughts, pressing harder into his chest as you flew. To his place? Yours? You didnât care. Not really. You just anticipated the moment, even if you didnât understandâWhy only now?
Kakashi had one goal now: to calm down, and unravel slowly if possible the desire heâd held in since the first day he saw you. A smirk formed under his mask at the thought that you were finally about to find out what kind of man he really is.
When you arrived at your place, he didnât even let you down to open the doorâheâd already memorized your entrance seal.
Only once inside did he let you down gently, but the distance between you didnât grow.
âIâm sorry,â he said, as your eyes met hisâjust for a second, before they fluttered shut when you felt his lips on your neck. Between the burning kisses, his voice grew slower. âIâm sorry I ever made you feel that way.â His hands ran slowly down your back, tracing the seam of your dress before sliding down to your leg and lifting it, drawing you in closer. âBut thatâs nothing more than a wrong impression.â His last word landed right as his lips met yours.
Your mouth opened immediately to welcome him in, a low hum of pleasure escaping him that made you burnâespecially somewhere unfamiliar.
His hand gripped the back of your neck, deepening the kiss, and the sound you let out was so sweet it made him squeeze your thighs even harder.
When he pulled away just to let you breathe, you admitted shyly,
âIâve neverâŚâ
âI know,â Kakashi reassured you softly, and that was part of why heâd avoided getting close like thisâhe didnât want to scare you. His breath ghosted along your spine as he leaned to whisper in your ear, âWeâll only do this if you want to.â
If you werenât sure before, his low, rough voice was enough to make your legs tremble. You could only nod and Kakashi could already feel the effect he had on you.
Fuck.
He looked into your eyes for a second too longâmaybe just to calm himselfâbefore moving behind you to undress you gently.
His fingers traced slowly over your hot skin, and goosebumps bloomed in their wake, down to the zipper that he lowered slowly, the dress slipping off your hips.
He returned to face you, kneeling until he was level with your stomach, slipping the dress from your body. You were left only in your underwear, but Kakashi never looked away from your face, making sure you were still with him.
âCan I?â
Your voice came out raspier than expected.
âY-yes.â
He nodded, his gaze finally settling on the part of you heâd shamefully dreamed of more nights than he could admit.
They say fantasies are better than reality. Thatâs a lie. He doesnât think heâs ever been luckier than in this moment.
His hand slid between your legs, gently parting them. His lips kissed everywhere, starting inside and outside your legs. And when he felt how soaked your panties already were from just his touchâyour legs nearly gave out at his lips touching the fabric over your pussy.
He rose, trailing kisses all over your body, one hand unclasping your bra. Your hair covered your nipples, barely.
His breath grew heavy as he looked at you, his hand cupping your cheek. âYouâre so beautiful.â He lifted your face and kissed you again.
As you feel too shy to be standing fully naked in the middle of the room, you urge him with a whisper.
âYou too need-,â Your hands removed his mask completly, then his black shirt, your fingers trailing down his toned muscles before reaching his pants. Kakashi decided that was enoughâhe took your hands and gently pushed you onto the bedâs edge, kneeling between your legs again.
You led him in. At this point, you didnât even have coherent thoughts left. He was a sight to behold. So beautiful.
Your trembling legs made Kakashi smirk wider as he pulled your panties down slowly. But you couldnât look away. And neither could he. He let out a soft gasp when one finger parted your glistening folds and circled your clit slowly.
You moaned with flushed cheeksâand just as your legs started to close, he pinned them down.
âMhm.â His teasing voice quickened your breath. But once his mouth found your pussy, your head dropped hard onto the bed.
You couldnât believe youâd missed out on this until now.
For Kakashi, your taste was all he could focus on. He licked and kissed you with such hunger he almost didnât notice how hard you were tremblingâuntil your louder moans pulled him back. Your eyes met his, and that alone made you come, your first time, on his tongue.
He hadnât expected it to be so fast. Neither had you. The pleasure overwhelmed you, and Kakashi let you squeeze his face between your thighs as his tongue gently cleaned you off.
He rose over you slowly. Your dazed, fucked-out expression was mesmerizing. You both laughed softly.
âWeâre not done, sweetheart.â
You swallowed just before he kissed you again, and the new taste on your tongue made your cheeks burn againârealizing it was yours.
âK-Kakashi.â
His cock twitched at your needy stutter.
âYes?â
âCan y-youââ
Your hand moved over his cock through his pants. It didnât feel small. At all. You were a little scaredâit felt big.
âOf course.â He took off his pantsâbut it still wasnât enough. But Kakashi didnât want to rush. He had to prepare you. âShh, let me.â Hearing you whine in his neck, he sped up just a bit, slipping one finger in gently. âTell me if itâs okay, okay?â
You only nodded, keeping eye contact, mind focused on the foreign sensation as his finger pushed in. It wasnât as painful as you thought. You gasped at the slight pain, but that was it. The feeling eased and Kakashi was watching you closely as your breathing quickened and your hips started to move.
âOh myââ
He silenced you with a kiss, swallowing your moans as a second finger entered you. Pushing harder, your thoughts blurred, reduced to pleas.
âP-please, please, pleaseââ
âYouâre gonna come again for me? Yes, sweetheart?â Kakashi groaned as your tears stung your cheeks, your nods frantic.
Your body convulsed on the mattress, mouth opening to release a long cry.
Kakashi left kisses all over your face and neck, drawing out your orgasm until his fingers left you.
As you caught your breath, you watched him take off the last of his clothes. Your eyes widened, but Kakashi reassured you before positioning himself.
âIâll go as slow as you want.â
And he kept his word. You bit your lips so hard they nearly bled as he pushed into you. You felt so fullâand he wasnât even halfway in.
âSweetheart?â
He looked a little worried at your expression, until you encouraged him.
âKeep going, Kakashi. Please.â
The rumors were true. It hurt. Like hell. But after? No one warned you how it would feel after. Or maybe it only felt this way with him.
Once his movements found a rhythm, hitting that one spot that left you breathless, especially when Kakashi noticed and didnât stopâ
âKakashi, it feels so good, so goodââ
Kakashi agreed. He tried to focus on anything elseâyour pleasure, your face, the wall behind youâjust to keep from coming the second he entered you. Heâd never felt anything like this.
âYes?â
âY-yes yes!! Please, please kiss meââ
He kissed you immediately, the kiss messy from how he hit inside you, your tongues battling, desperate to consume the other.
That same sensation built again, especially when Kakashi lifted your leg to go deeper. Your moans turned to cries.
And when you came again, so hard, it took everything in him not to pull out. You clenched so tightly, Kakashi didnât last much longer. But before he could pull outâ
âN-no, no! Pleaseâin me, Kakashi!â
And how could he say no to that?
A deep groan escaped him as he filled you completely, so much it spilled down your thighs.
Not that you noticed. You both had only looked at each other the whole time.
He stayed over you for a while, catching his breath and your hand instinctively running through his hair.
Then he cleaned you off gently, moving you onto his chest. His fingers ran through your hair, caressed your cheeks as you smiled nonstop.
âSo I was wrong,â you murmured.
He chuckled.
âDefinitely.â
Your smile stayed, then your expression grew serious. He tilted his head slightly, waiting.
âI love you, Kakashi. A lot.â
His heart beat harder. He knew. Or hoped. But it had always been hard to accept someone loving him. And just as hard, saying it back. But now, it came naturally.
âI love you too, as much.â
Your insides tingled, hugging him tightly.
