Simon’s not sure how you convinced him to tag along to come see your best friend’s new baby. But somehow he finds himself seated next to you on the couch as you play with the newborn and offer your friend the opportunity to catch up on some much needed rest.

The next thing Simon knows you’re pressing the little bundle into his arms, insisting he simply must have a turn holding the baby boy.

“Make sure to support his head there, and watch his little hands so he doesn’t scratch himself, oh and make sure—”

“I know how to hold a baby, love.”

“Oh because you’ve spent so much time around babies, yeah?” You teased, a smile on your lips as you playfully rolled your eyes.

“Yeah…I have.” Simon’s voice was suddenly quiet. You caught him looking down at the child, a sadness in his eyes. True to his word, he seemed at ease holding the babe in the crook of his arm. This clearly wasn’t the first time he’d done this.

A quiet “oh” was all you could manage in response.

Simon couldn’t take his eyes off the little one. He looked impossibly tiny curled up against Simon’s large bicep. The baby let out a fierce yawn, eyes falling closed and snuggling into the crook of Simon’s elbow as Simon gently bounced him in his arms. In that moment, he looked so much like Joseph it nearly took Simon’s breath away.

Simon felt a hand on his upper arm, turning away from the baby to find you looking up at him, face full of unspoken concern.

You recognized the haunted look in Simon’s face that took over every so often. Leaning forward, you pressed a tender kiss to his cheek. “Love you, Si. Come back to me.”

Simon took a deep breath, grounding himself in the present, mentally shaking off the ghosts of his past.

“I’m here, love.”

So story time. I’m on a competitive weightlifting team (for fun) and that means I spend a lot of time around many very straight men (which truly could be its own story series) but today we had some downtime and were bored so we were talking about opinions we have on shows and one of them turns to me and goes, “I bet you have some really good Phineas and Ferb takes,” because I am nothing if not, incredibly predictable. So I gave some of my milder hot takes (because I did not know how safe the space was) and he goes, “cool, mine is that Perry and Doof are in love with each other.”

Y’ALL. THE WAY I SWIVELED AROUND SO FAST. Like I need you guys to understand this is a man who does Olympic-style weightlifting at the national level, has a full beard, and religiously eats a pound of beef a day to meet his protein goals. I was like Owen what the fuck and he was just sitting next to me, grinning, and watching me vibrate at a speed known only to autistics as I struggled to string together two coherent thoughts that weren’t holyshitholyshitholyshit.

And when I finally managed to get a thought together I expressed how shocked I was, and this man just goes, “well of course I ship them, I’ve seen the show.”

some people draw fem remus with short hair (and that’s cool ofc) but i think cutegirlsart’s interpretation of sapphic wolfstar was on point!

aka i think remus would have long hair and sirius would have the shorter hair. my reasoning behind this is because if sirius has long hair as man (ignoring any gender hcs), therefore breaking gender norms, wouldn’t it make sense that a fem sirius would do the same with short hair?

what I think is great (although it’s also terribly sorrowful and heartbreaking) about the dynamic between the boys is how their age gap is handled

I mean sure they both are portrayed as actual silly teens and if they died at the age of 16 their brains hadn’t fully developed and all that crap about hormones and body chemistry yeah BUT during these years together they have been gaining more and more experience and they process it and they surely are shaped by it and can’t be considered 16 anymore whenever they want it or not

and what I wanted to say is that despite all these afterlife years count more or less as actual years there is absolutely nothing creepy about Edwin being more than 70 years older than Charles because he didn’t have a chance to gain this experience and develop during his years in hell since there were no social interactions no academy studying not even time to calmly think about anything other than how to be safe and get out of there. these 70 years must have felt as eternity but at the same time it was all the same (fear and pain and despair) so it didn’t give Edwin the possibility to develop mentally but on the contrary conserved him in his 16-year old self

so when he meets Charles (I think it being some time after escaping the hell but no more than a couple of months) they get an opportunity to grow up mentally together and they are equals in this growth
