letterboxd app apparently has added video ads bc i tried to view my activity and got hit with a 15 second unskippable ad... and deleted the entire app within 10 seconds of encountering this...
#no we are not playing this game lol.#i have even been considering getting a subscription to the site for a while now that i have a job and at least some extra income#but um. I'm not going to do it now bc i can't let them think this was a good move to make people buy adfree.#avpost#like i tolerated the banner ads but i draw the line at being unable to open any page in the app without sitting through a 15 second video.#i was like *tries to click someones review of a movie but gets stopped by a video ad for plex* huh that's weird i must have misclicked smth#*restarts app and clicks activity tab and gets stopped by the same ad* ah. well we arent doing this shit *uninstalls immediately*#i mean before the app for years i used lbxd exclusively in my firefox browser so its only a mild inconvenience to go back to that 馃し#im more worried about this as a bad sign from management of a website that i like. like is it about to get so much worse?#i love it im so happy to be on the internet in this. the corporate slop era. the inescapable advertising era.#i love that you can't watch youtube without 2 minute ad breaks anymore i love that every site has embedded video ads that stop your music.#i love that no matter what it is they're going to break it with ads and then sell you back an ad free version after they ruined it

As a Sims 2 player one of the most eerie things about playing the original game isn't necessarily the creepy/more liminal aesthetic or the repetitively endless gameplay, but the fact that almost all the pre-made Sims from the original game are inexorably doomed by the narrative.
There's something odd about Pleasantview specifically, where the majority of the returning Sim families live (save for Tara Kat, who seems... relatively fine). Like, the concept of the game is that twenty-five years have passed, and all of the returning characters are pre-baked into character arcs that communicate an unavoidable truth: You, the player, failed.
Bella Goth will disappear. Her brother (though in the original Sims we aren't aware that Michael Bachelor is her brother) will die, possibly murdered. Mortimer will be lost and alone. Cassandra will be stuck in an unloving engagement. The Newbie's daughter will be impoverished, a single mother whose husband died young, with two boys and another on the way. Daniel Pleasant will grow up to be a cheater. Jennifer Pleasant will never be an athlete like she wanted (her brother will). And though poor Johnny Burb never mentions Tucker anymore, you know that old dog died years ago. The Roomies, the Mashugas, the Hicks, the Charmings - all leave town... or worse, die out.
I think about Jeff Pleasant's bio in the first game: "Jeff and his family are new to the neighborhood. Can you help Jeff provide for his family and fulfill his lifelong goal of being the first man to walk on Mars?" And how it contrasts to Daniel's in the second: "Since his father Jeff died without achieving his dream of going to Mars, Daniel has felt an overwhelming guilt."
And sure, you can save the families of Pleasantview. You can choose for Mary-Sue to not go to work that day, or maybe Daniel never pursues Kaylynn Langerak again. You can give Cassandra a happy marriage, tame Don Lothario's womanizer ways. You can financially save Brandi Broke. You can get John Burb another dog. You can get Jennifer the career she always wanted. You can defy the scripted in-game prompts and say "No. I don't want to play like this." You can break the cycle, every time you play.
And yet, at the end of the day, no matter what you do... uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, maybe just deleting that Neighborhood folder, they are reset back to exactly where they were again. They're doomed to repeat it forever.
The game makes it clear that there are some things you aren't meant to change. A genie lamp or a Resurrect-O-Nomitron can bring back sims like Michael Bachelor, but you will pay for it in your neighborhood deteriorating to corruption. And no matter what you do, no force in the universe can bring Bella Goth back. The one in Strangetown isn't even really her, after all. And maybe she isn't. They say they deleted her in development, replaced her with a clone. Maybe that's what Bella Goth in Strangetown is. A clone. Maybe we were wrong, after all. Maybe she was never abducted by aliens. Maybe Don Lothario killed her. Maybe Dina Caliente killed her. Maybe Mortimer did. But you can't bring her back, no matter what you do. Recreate the original Bella, pixel by pixel, extract her data, make your zombie Bella. Build your own monster. Create a sim. But she will never recognize her family. Never see them as her own.
And she was never meant to.

Desperate PC Tenno calling for help!
Calling all the tech-savvy players here on Tumblr who may hopefully lend me and tech support a hand. Yes, the situation is that bad. More under the cut to spare a lengthy wall of text!
I've been experiencing totally random and sudden crashes with WF since a month and half, by now.
The game first freezes for less than a minute, then crashes to desktop bringing up the window to report crashes. This happens literally anywhere and anytime in the game. During mission, at the end of the mission, while idling in the Orbiter/base of operations, sitting in the pause menu, checking the settings menu. All kind of possible scenarios. Ah, and DX11 or DX12 make no difference either.
It's driving me - and tech support - insane. Because it is so HARD to pinpoint the root cause! Every log file so far has reported some kind of General Protection Failure (GPF) error followed by different numbers.
I'm running the game on a brand new, pre-built computer from Megaport. Which I moved to from my old potato of a PC back in late November. Specs are the following: Windows 11 Home (build 24H2) Intel Core I7-12700KF, 8x 3.60 Ghz + 4x 2.70 Ghz ASUS Prime Z790-A Wifi DDR5 NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Dual Palit 12GB 2x 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 1 TB SSD 1000 Watt PSU
I have done everything tech support has suggested me to do and: - Uninstalled and re-installed the game, - Update drivers. Being a new computer, everything is pretty much up to date. I had to do a clean install for the GPU drivers only using DDU, though, - Verified game files, - Emptied the shader cache on the drive game is saved to, - Repaired Steam library, - Lowered graphic settings, - Attempted to launch and run Warframe in Clean Boot mode to exclude background programs/services <- unsuccessfully; Steam didn't work at all (which I kind of figured would happen) and trying to launch the game straight from the launcher...triggered a download of the game files in the App Data folder on main (C) drive. O_o The random crashes don't even appear in the Windows Event Viewer. Nowhere to be found. And believe me, I have looked into every single category. I've been keeping track of the time(s) of the crashes but, alas, found nothing that could possibly be related to those. (also, I'm not a computer expert so perhaps I'm doing things wrong)
So far, the only weird thing I've noticed is...Most of the times there seemingly is a "break" in between each series of crashes. A few days at worst, 10-12 days at best. Yes, I checked even the Task Scheduler utility on Windows. Found no program/app that runs automatically that matches with the timing/days when the crashes have occurred so far.
Really losing my mind to this. It's frustrating, it's unnerving, it's making me genuinely terrified of playing the game. And the reason I got this PC in the first place was being finally able to play my favorite game without worrying about being unable to because of my old (and obsolete) machine! Because I don't know when the next crash shall decide to happen and oh boy it's gonna be so fun losing progress. Or having a couple of players reasonably angry at me for suddenly poofing as host. I'm really sorry about that, folks.
I'm already considering the option of total formatting this computer, should there be no other way. But not before entirely giving up. And maybe make things a little less complicated for tech support team.
I can't thank these guys enough for their help and most importantly patience over the past month and half. This mess has been handed to three different people already and a solution hasn't been found yet.
So, if there are fellow Tenno on Tumblr who have either experienced something like this before and found a fix or are just more knowledgeable about computers and whatnot, your help would be GREATLY appreciated. ;.;
EDIT: I forgot to mention a few important things! - Hardware temperatures are within optimal range while in game (CPU never above 65掳C, GPU has been running ice cold and has rarely exceeded 50掳C so far, RAM is chilling at 45掳C average). - GPU memory usage averages around at max (peak) 77% on HWInfo. - CPU usage I honestly need to check! D: - Ran disk cleanup, scans with sfc, chkdsk and DISM (all through command prompts ran as admin) and no issues were found. - Checked RAM health as well with Windows' memory diagnostic tool. However, it seems to give many false positives even on perfectly functional RAM banks. Looking for a more reliable alternative. - Warframe is the only game that keeps crashing on this PC. I haven't been getting any with other games/programs (Hades II; need to test how Ultrakill performs) or any warning signs (BSODs, freezes, sluggish PC, etc) that could suggest hardware failure.
#warframe#I even made a post on the official WF forums but nobody bothered to answer#don't know where else I should ask for help

I've been following the Unity situation and its so fucking insane like holy shit. We have everything! - Absurd fees for devs! That may or may not be retroactive and illegal, but we won't say until you cause a stink about it! (We totally aren't shh we wouldn't break the law. Totally :) ) - Getting rid of one of their levels of subscriptions during all of this, The 'Plus Plan', and allegedly putting you on the more expensive 'Pro' subscription if you auto renew! - Insider trading! Selling their stocks not even a week before they released this new change in their company! x x They've since backpedaled from what their original plan was. Originally, they told everyone that every Install, reinstall, dlc, demo, and pirated copy would now cost a fee (with few exceptions, such as charity games and bundles) It's not hard to see how this could tank an indie company with ease. Mad at a dev/company? Just mass install/uninstall. Now they are apparently saying that 'nonono! We only meant the original install :)' Which also opens the door as to how they are tracking installs. They so far have seemed to be avoiding as to how on earth they are going to do that without breaching privacy on a computer. Especially when it could just be easier to make a fee based on purchases, but no. x
So you know, don't worry guys, they have their own 'proprietary data model.' But so far (As i type this, or am aware of) have not given details about how that model works. When asked about stuff such as Xbox Gamepass, Unity mentioned it would be Microsoft paying for the fees. As of now, I have no idea if Microsoft was even told this, and I doubt they are going to agree to it either out of nowhere. x Another fun thing, is if you change your Unity plan, you are added to the revenue threshold immediately. Interesting that this is after they sneakily got rid of their Plus plan, which a lot of devs seemed to use.
And interesting enough, they seem to contradict themselves from their QnA and their official twitter post regarding Demo's and Early Access, or at least tried to be sneaky about the wording?? x x
They won't charge for demos or early access, until they do, apparently. Or if the demo has data that can be transferred to the main game, anyway. Unity also claimed this would only affect 10% of its users. Which is funny when you look at all the Indie devs and studios who are coming out on twitter saying that this actually directly hurts them. Not to mention all the people that have spent years learning this engine, for themselves, or so they can apply to companies using it. And now all of that was just spat on by Unity themselves. There's also the games that have been out and are built on this engine, and can't just be tossed and rebuilt. Such as Among us, Genshin Impact, Pokemon Go and the Diamond/Pearl remakes. Overall, it's a huge mess. Unity majorly screwed up. I'd recommend looking into what games you like, and if they run on Unity. If you don't have them yet, you may want to purchase them so they are in your steam library, or whatever console you play on. With the uncertainty of all of this, I wouldn't be surprised if some companies delist their games on steam. If you buy from them now, you'll still be able to support the devs before Unity implements this new fee plan. Plus, since you paid for them, they will still be on your console/in your steam library. Please stay safe ya'll, and support your local game devs during this storm. They need it.

I wanna just state my actual biggest pet peeve in fiction.
#1.
Actual biggest, hate it more than anything.
It's when you have a fake thing in your universe that's named similar but not copyright breaking to a thing in real life.
Like "McBurger's" or "WickDonald's" or "Bendy's" or "Burger Queen" or "Plex Tape" or "Mountain Due"
I genuinely cringe so fucking hard every time I see that shit.
It lets me know immediately that the writer of that world is so creatively bankrupt that they can't think of their own name for a thing without just taking something that exists and changing a letter or two
And it also lets me know the writer thinks so little of the intelligence of their readers that they have to call the coffee place "Barstucks" so that the reader goes "Oh okay so now I can imagine what it looks like because it's similar to Starbucks which is familiar to me"
Like holy shit
Just use your words or your art power to explain to your audience what the establishment or product is, don't just go "HEY GANG LET'S GO EAT AT SIX GUYS, SEE WHAT I DID THERE READER? AREN'T I CLEVER, READER!?!?!?!?"
#2.
Referencing another product, similar or not, in place of writing your own joke.
Every time I see "The cake is a lie" in a game, I uninstall and refund the game immediately.

I started playing this new code breaking game for funsies, and it isn't as much like real code breaking because:
It's annoying as shit and plays ads even if you start guessing correct letters too quickly [punishing success]
It tells you immediately if you guess a letter wrong, has a 3 strike system and no way of notating theoretical letters so it's both harder and easier that actual code breaking in various ways [harder because any wrong guess or accidental button press means watching stupid fucking ads that I want to light on fire]
I'm not sure if having set themes to work from during events makes it leaps easier, or if not knowing common media and quotes makes it harder, but it giving you a few letters to start off def seems like easy mode, I want a dark mode and there is no dark mode... I mean the colour the app is very bright it's like all white.
But letter frequency and other 'techniques' still apply, like your most common letters are prone to being e t n and a, and there are ways to figure out whether a single letter word is I or A, etc...
Anyway I'm disabled so if I have a day where I can't do much but be on my phone, there's nothing to stop me from solving puzzles all day unless the brain fog is hitting hard
So there was an event with ranking like there are in a lot of games and as usual I expected not to even place, as usual, because I am doing this for fun and I don't tend to play mobile games all that much, I'm not even 'good' at them the way someone would be if they just did it daily... Like my grandmother does the daily newspaper puzzles way faster than me because she does them daily and that's what most mobile games are like for me when I play them, I just have no practice.
And then I accidentally won the tournament, in first place, out-lapping the second place person [score something like 2000 when other people were mostly under 300, I think second place was around 500-700 ish?], because I was solving the puzzles while watching supernatural and wanted to finish the -unrelated- seasonal event puzzles so that I could ignore the rest of the event for the remaining days without missing the puzzles, and -apparently- all the event puzzles count towards your ranking and not just the main ones on the app? It gave me a bunch of in-game tokens or keys or whatever I don't even think I'm going to use?? [sorry]... Imagine some new guy blows in and just smashes everyone out of the lead in 3 days right at the end of the challenge. The worst part is I don't even use the hints. I almost quit 20 times just because of the fucking ads [got distracted playing a few]. I would like to personally apologize the the people in second and third but especially 4th place who probably expected that ranking not to budge and probably actually cared and actually wanted the prize, if it makes you feel any better I have no life.
I've only been playing the game for 6 days. But like, I do real code breaking sometimes for fun?
My brain needs something to do that's of some higher value and challenge than fake code breaking games, but my only jobs right now are seasonal 'gathering' and resting. I can't even get into most of my hobbies until I get my apartment better put together.
This is me going stir crazy... Just solving puzzles all day until I want to resort to arson [against the ads]... I need something to chew on but media is not holding my interest [joy is stored in the nothing, I yearn]. Maybe I'll stream a game again soon. Maybe the next zero dawn game will go on sale. Maybe we'll play Mass Effect?
Anyway, I want to design a code breaking game that's better, and I have some suggestions for mobile ads to make them more effective and less annoying.
I've tried a number of simple mobile puzzle games I just uninstalled within a day because they were too fucking annoying. Like most of them are designed with inevitable fail states that force you to watch ads constantly to keep playing at all, making it so fucking tedious and obnoxious and unsatisfying. I think they expect you not to notice that it isn't a lack of skill responsible for you failing but is instead designed into the game. I think they are targeting mostly children and people who don't know better to make ad revenue.
When my life gets better put together I think I'm just going to develop mobile games for practice and make them cheap af or free and not have ads. I can code and do the graphics so why tf not. Like imagine decoding for days on end and getting to read something fun or solve a cool mystery with actual code breaking techniques and there's cool graphics and no annoying ads.
#tell me your favourite decoding and puzzle aps/games and especially ones where the ads aren't rage inducing so I can skim the list#for new stuff#anyway I think I need to literally chew on something and it will fix me#Anyway if you are out there I am so sorry

So I tried out Tokyo Debunker. tl;dr: LOL that's how much?
I'm not really into otome/joseimuke cause I don't dig the self-insert/dating/tropey cast of boy characters aspect, so I appreciate that this game allows you to set a name for the heroine that isn't your IGN. Allowed me to enjoy the story as its own thing. And the story is about the most positive thing I can say.
It's basically TWST but with horror, and where I had bounced hard off TWST's story and cast, the world presented here is interesting and most of the characters are charming. ...Although some are gratuitous expies of characters from other franchises. The blond screaming kid is basically that blond screaming kid from KNY, and he even has the same voice actor lol (edit: nope the guy just sounds like shimono) I keep expecting him to break out with some amazing power when he's asleep, and it'll have some of the best art in the game lol. But ignoring the ...homages..., I really enjoyed TD's tale, and that's what's keeping me going. There's also some fujobait teasing between the various boys; I straight up lol'd at a card you can get in VIP that is of two of them having a cigarette kiss.
The game looks mediocre and out of date, even by my lenient standards, though it's fully voice acted with a talented cast (JP) and story beats are highlighted by manga-esque cut scenes to supplement the talking heads VN visuals. But the character art is crude and simple (probably to make the live2d easier), most of the designs uninspired, and the GUI a confusing mess.
Battle system is just a chibi battler with some music stages (lol), but I appreciate you can skip battles straight from the get-go, which is probably why they didn't bother with the graphics. The game also has an idle clicker base (though without the clicking), which is where you do the majority of your leveling and mat grinding (ie: it's done passively). There's (not live) PVP, but it's like pvp in dressup games. Looks like there's a guild raid boss open during certain times of the day. Guild system itself is eh. There just really is no actual, engaging gameplay.
The monetization is fucking hilarious. I am not one who flinches at spending, but holy hell this game is disgustingly offensive in not only the bazillion ways they monetize, but the cost. They have numerous USD100+ packages, things costing thousands of the diamond currency for progress (locked behind their own gacha), and a mixed summon pool that is less than half characters, with a total 1% ssr rate to pull gear cards or character cards--with gear having higher individual pull rates (you will be more likely to pull gear than a character). Pity for a character is 500, no banner carry over. Absolutely bonkers in this day and age. The ways to spend also include a VIP, sub VIP, weekly and monthly passes, tiered purchases, timed purchases, repeat purchases, rebate purchases... just LOL. I've played f2p games for over a decade, and I've never seen such an egregious amount of microtransactions.
Absolute cash grab. The moment I can't progress in the story due to paywall is when I'll uninstall. Really too bad since I am enjoying the story, and I'd like to know more about the cast (I regret getting the one who visually appealed to me as my starter card cause this pure, earnestly dense kid is smashing me in the face with his moe).
Anywho. Try, but don't spend. If you already play TWST, this is TWST at home but with demons and ghosts. Its troubled development history really shows, and I'd be shocked if it lasts a year. Would make a fun, brainless anime or manga though.
#roo gaming#lol dense naive types with a protective sense of justice really do be a thing for me#so i would die for lucas

ah wait i forgot i also have advice about hiding behavior online:
i'm lucky that my mother has never been very online-savvy so she doesn't really know how to check history or installed programs. most of these should work even if your abusers do, however.
ALWAYS keep a "safe" tab or window that you can easily switch to, and CHANGE IT OFTEN. if you have the exact same thing open multiple times, they'll realize it's fake. usually I use school assignments. each time they see it, scroll down the page. don't stay on one subject, switch every few hours or so. (like from a math assignment to an english one)
if you want to voice call with friends AND THEY LIKELY CAN'T HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING, just that you're talking, pretend you are collaborating on a school project. keep a "safe tab" related to the project up. If needed, try to make sure you have a more solid alibi if they insist on speaking to your "project partners".
If you have the opportunity (this means LONG PERIODS OF TIME WHEN THEY ARE ABSENT. NOT WHEN THEY TAKE A BATHROOM BREAK, THAT'S TOO SHORT.) see if you can access files and accounts on their computer. it's easier if you know the password, but you may be able to sneak in when they have just stopped using it and it is not locked yet. passwords for things such as parental controls for phones and computers, emails, etc can sometimes be found either emailed to their own email or on a text document.
if they're less tech-savvy, apps on a phone can be superficially hidden by making a folder (ex: one for "school stuff" with apps such as Teams and Remind on the first screen, and then a second screen with your hidden apps.). organize the rest of your phone apps into similar categories without hidden apps, so they will be less suspicious.
also for if theyre less tech-savvy: when using chatting programs or social media, use ones that they are less familiar with and can be easily uninstalled or closed. I have never used the default messages app for communications with friends because it can be easily checked and is well-known to pretty much anyone with a phone, instead I use discord or social media through a web browser.
It's easier to hide things on a computer than a phone. If you have access to a laptop, learn how to use the file systems and the systems of a web browser (firefox is the best). You can obscure files through having a convoluted folder organization system that they may not want to search all the way through. if you don't want them questioning apps (games, chat programs, etc.) keep them off of your taskbar/desktop.
If you have an email account set up by them that you're supposed to use, make another one for most of your actual communications. keep the tracked account active with "safe" conversations.
hey so protip if you have abusive parents and need to get around the house as quietly as possible, stay close to furniture and other heavy stuff because the floor is settled there and it鈥檚 less likely to creak

Do your Pantone Uncoated Sclera eyes still work? I want to make a Nightcrawler sim, but I鈥檓 having trouble finding cc eyes without pupils.
Hi there! To be honest, I haven't used them in forever, so I can't say for sure, sorry about that!
If you'd like to test them out, I'd recommend doing the exact opposite of what I usually do: don't install a bunch of mods at the same time, find out there's an issue, and then have to go through them one by one to figure out what's wrong 馃槄 I'd add just the one mod, start up the game, and if there's issues, uninstall it.
While I'd definitely like to eventually go back and update my old mods, I won't have anything available any time soon. I hope that, if you choose to test the mod out, that it won't break your game! 馃馃槄

Idk how computers work but my older brother bought me eso on steam and I can't download it bc it takes too much space and even after doing all the clear space tips I found online I still can't download it. So I did the math and the game takes up 61% of ALL available space. If I wanted to play eso I'd have to magically uninstall all of the things that make my laptop work without breaking the thing

So so so so real.
I don't want to build a whole new team (and probably even MORE teams, in later stages), with all new treasures, just for this. Why is it literally impossible without it. Who thought this "revamp" was a good idea.
Unironicaly considering taking a break from the game & uninstalling for a little bit just bc of how frustrating this tower is. I can't do the tower. I can't see the story cause it's locked behind the tower. I get Stormbringer from login for free anyways. What even is the point
I miss the old tower.
#I'll come back later obv. I'm not missing out on the beasts#But goddammit does this one just suck the joy out of me

To lend a hand
What if the Creator was absolutely terrible at the game? Definitely not speaking from prior experience here
Like, your acolytes are still getting stronger compared to before they were blessed by the Creator's presence, but the builds are all wrong; all the artifact and weapon stats and abilities are not optimal, they aren't leveled, and the skill leveling path is completely wrong. And the Creator just can't time their dashes to I-frame through attacks and skills to get proper reactions. Think like, using Mona's burst randomly and just letting it pop on its own with no follow up.
At first, the acolytes will be absolutely delighted to be blessed by their Creator, then, after suffering constant defeats, they realize that the Creator is completely unfamiliar with the land they created after being separated from Teyvat for so long. The role of the Creator is essentially to offer many paths to power, but the acolytes themselves must choose which ones to walk on. Also they believe that if they don't help you, they're scared that the Creator will get tired of Teyvat after constantly losing and will uninstall the game. They don't want to play the game for you; just make it easier so that they will still play.
In Mondstadt, Jean organizes the Knights to help you in commissions in anyway that they can, even if they're pulling triple duty. For delivering food, instead of the Creator stumbling around random paths well past the time limit, they find that the only goal is to simply grab the delivery fee from the front gates and give it to Sara. Meanwhile, Kaeya, Lisa, and Eula construct a makeshift obstacle course, full of non-damaging traps, to help train the Creator in I-frame dashing, which doubles as a commission. While they are a bit firm in their training, they don't push the Creator too hard and make it seem impossible to accomplish. When the Creator finally dashes through the first obstacle, the entire city erupts with celebration.
The obstacle course would later become a mandatory test requirement for the Knight of Favonius recruitment trials. Of course, Ella and Noelle pass with flying colors.
In Liyue, Zhongli automatically activates his shields whenever the Creator begins a battle, sometimes almost breaking the limits of the connection between Creator and acolyte to lengthen his shield duration well past their coded limits. Meanwhile, Ningguang sends bits of her information board to the Creator's mailbox on what to buy, how to manage resources and mora, and where to ask for assistance in Teyvat.
During the Tartaglia boss fight, at first he's excited to fight a Creator-powered acolyte for the first time, but after the 20th victory without needing to draw on the power of his delusion, he and everyone else in the Creator's party begins to hear crying and words of "This boss fight is impossible..." from the Creator.
Immediately, the characters in the party go full Super Saiyan; temporarily leveling up their talents to the highest, obtaining all the food buffs at once, and even steal the most powerful weapons from the gacha, while Tartaglia musters as much "overly dramatic defeated villain" acting energy as he can.
"Ah~~! It- it can't be! Where did you obtain this power from?! You're too strong~!" As he slowly falls over, "defeated" when the Creator finally overcomes his 2nd phase.
The joyful cheers from the Creator of that day prompted the creation of a new holiday in Liyue, which surpasses the popularity of the Lantern Rite. Even Osial delayed his emergence to let the people celebrate the momentous occasion.
In Inazuma, the first fight against Raiden terrifies the Creator so much that they immediately burst into tears at the notion of fighting them a second time. With that, every character allied with the Resistance is motivated times 10000; this wasn't just a war to repel the Vision Hunt Decree, this was a war to make sure the Creator's heart isn't hurt ever again. Kokomi, Gorou, and later even Sara Kujou, combine their strategic minds to come up with the best possible builds for each acolyte the Creator has obtained, and sends a letters of guidance of how to build a proper kit to the Creator's mailbox.
When Signora steps up to challenge the acolytes, the Creator once again is terrified of fighting another Harbinger. Unfortunately for Signora, the Creator has learned (somewhat) from their previous experiences, and with immense difficulty, defeats Signora. During the Raiden boss fight, the Creator finds that the Shogun's blade was dealing less damage than before, and the windows to attack were quite long. After an intense battle, the Creator manages to defeat the Shogun and leads her to repeal the Vision Hunt Decree.
After all, the puppet has learned her lesson after watching the Creator's new power being used against Signora. True eternity was earned from the passing moments of growth, culminating in an eternal memory engrained in the Creator's mind as they finally overcome their challenges and claim their rightful rewards with the help of their acolytes.

I'm not gonna post the grisly screencaps but the Shujin principal got murdered via mental shutdown and hit by a massive truck. It's unfun.

you know akechi
i'm not sure i disagree with you here
The fucking predictable shit happens, which I'm glad about because the game has put so much effort into the Thieves wanting to do "big stuff" and get popular that it needed to be foreshadowing for this. The principal died after a tabloid revealed that he helped cover up Kamoshida's abuses. Despite killing not being the modus operandi of the Thieves, people start saying the Thieves are the ones who killed him for his crimes, many even justifying his death because the cover up and he "got what he deserved."
So at least we are running with that story beat, I'm honestly glad, though also interested in what Persona 5 thinks of the morality of the Thieves. Again: fictional characters, and I have the foresight of being the player of this game so I'm vaguely on the Thieves' side. But as a morality question the game is proposing, I'm not sure I am.
Though if you did it Right, if you stripped out the Phansite shit and stopped Ryuji from running his mouth about making it big and being famous, if it was genuinely about extrajudicial actions to target untouchable people, then sure. I'm with you.
But that's def not the scenario we're in, is it?
So.
Here we go, spin me a yarn, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5 The Royal. I am listening.

come on Sae, you can't be this fucking mean and get this little results from it

F I N A L L Y it's hitting the more sensible members of the group that hey maybe this huge fame spike is actually a super bad idea.
Ann even suggests they lay low until it dies down a bit but Ryuji jumps down her throat, and tensions are sky high as everyone discusses Okamura. Basically, the majority of the mental shutdown cases are linked to him by proximity, though no obvious cause/correlation is known yet.
But he has a Palace, so Ryuji wants to take him out.

Aaaaand the Mona Bomb finally detonates. That fuse was bound to run out.
Ryuji and Morgana have a huge fight and Morgana fucks off to apparently take on the Palace alone.
AND BECAUSE ATLUS IS RAILROADING ME, I DON'T HAVE AN OPTION TO SAY "Morgana, I think this is reckless, but I'll be damned if I let you go alone, lemme grab my shoes."

DON'T GO WHERE I CAN'T FOLLOW
okay but for real, if Morgana dies or something, I'm uninstalling
oh okay so
let's talk about Akechi because we got a Beige Front coming in from the south

Akechi shows up to be a sassy bastard to Sae again, which I feel is justly deserved because she kinda sucks despite her awesome intro
And weirdly, Akechi was absolutely the one to tout the idea that the Thieves were the ones behind the mental shutdown cases before, but now he is upset with her for threatening Sojiro without any evidence to back up her theory.

I know Akechi is not on the Thieves' side and I know that he's fucking with Sae.
It's interesting that he's the second Detective Prince because Naoto was absolutely rigorous on the search for truth, but I don't think that's what Akechi's into here. Like, I don't know what his job is functionally for the police at all, and it seems the majority of what he does is just sow more chaos.
Which, yes, I know this is not MegaTen proper, but it is still interesting, this inversion it's presenting. MegaTen games tend to give you a choice not between good or evil but Order vs Chaos, without really advocating for either. It's more like a player personality test than a judgement call.
Akechi is on paper on the side of Order, but he is extremely good at muddying the waters and making things less clear. He's excellent as a plant or spy.
Meanwhile, the Thieves are on paper Chaotic (albeit Chaotic Good/Neutral) but they are trying to rein in people who are breaking the order of the world. They're trying to enforce justice where it has failed.
So, at least at this point, this feels like the game is flirting with Chaos vs Order, with the representatives of each inverted for funsies.
Hm.

SMASH CUT TO

I'm going to set everything you love on fire Ryuji

oh god i've been replaced. Morgana has replaced Reverie with the girl with the poofy hair and the high pitched voice.
REPLACED
MAYBE SHE WILL BE A BETTER KEEPER OF YOUR HEART, MORGANA, I'M SORRY SOBS
Anyway, the team (minus Ryuji) is actually concerned when Mona doesn't return and thus Futaba tells everyone to gear up, they are going into Okamura's palace tomorrow, no delay.
Futaba is the only person here I respect.

Hi, first of all I'm completely in love with all your buildings and can't wait for Latium to be released. Sadly, I can't get the Curia Julia or the Templum Monetae to work in my game as they appear to be corrupted. I tried downloading them without any other cc (except for the required ones) to check if it wasn't a mod conflict issue but I still get an error message saying my game isn't updated (wrong because I have the latest patch and all expansion packs, also my game is original/EA, not pirated) and the buildings also seem to break the launcher a bit as the only time they appeared to have been successfully downloaded they later re-appeared in the download tab (as undownloaded) and I couldn't uninstall them.
I hope I don't come off as rude, I know how modding is intense work and can be hard, so please take it as constructive feedback from someone who's super excited to use your buildings :D
(It could also be a problem with my potato laptop)
If you're willing to be patient, I can have a few others to help me test out the CC elsewhere and see where the problem may lie. I have been encountering errors lately with some of the builds I've made and the Roman ones may have problems as well. I've no clue where the problem might
I will send you a PM for further inquiries about your specific issue.
