Im not letting anyone in this fandom forget those two obey me fanfics on ao3 from like 2?? Years ago. Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers them?? It was such a big thing for the fandom, Im so glad I read them before they got deleted because the memory is soo FUNNY HELP ?? I need opinions on these two fics, if anyone actually remembers them:(

Dia x Luci : The Red Means I love you

ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZING SHIT BRO WHAT IN THE DARK ROMANCE?? wouldn't even call that romance it was such a hard read. Stumbling across videos of it made on tiktok was probably the worst event that I experienced 👽 ON MY MOTHER THE SCENES WERE SO UNNECESSARY (but the adrenaline rush was pretty good ngl)

I read through that with my heart dropping with each new chapter bro?? I couldn't even read through the entire story. I'm pretty sure it's deleted now cus I've been searching for it to make a whole OM fandom lore post but heyy

To sum it up for the people who were fortunate enough to not read it;

Diavolo kidnaps Lucifer, and keeps him in some cage/almost prison cell area. I think he's chained up to the ceiling, I'm not so sure. It starts off with Dia being nice I think, trying to gain Lucifers trust and eventually have him submit but that shit doesn't work and all of hell releases. Lucifer endures some physical and sexual abuse and attempts to escape. But before he successfully escapes,he bumps into Barbatos who offers to help him

He does not help him. Infact, he locks him back up and informs Diavolo.

What the fuck

The most notable things I believe Dia did was clip lucifer's wings?? And pulled out his teeth (i think Barbatos actually did that I'm not so sure). But I can't really explain how gruesome and detailed the writing was. What's worse is that it also included how the brothers were reacting to Lucifer just disappearing. Very interesting fic, story wise it was fine and well written. It's just the plot in general was what the actual fuck??

An absolute wreck, these fanfics were so well written I can't even hate the authors for what they did (the Dia x Luci one didn't deserve any hate imo, but this one?? Holy fucking shit??) This fic was so out of pocket, it ruined the way I saw Levi for a good while.

So I think Simeon called Levi to look after Luke? Which is really fucking weird because Luke is an angel, sure he's depicted as a kid but if Micheal chose him to follow Simeon down to the Devildom for the exchange program then I'm pretty damn sure he can at least take care of himself without adult Supervision, but whatever. Nice plot, I hate it

the end of the gacha arc

ignore the fact that this is the first post in a while in which i actually ramble about something, but i thought it’d be fitting to go out with a bang to the end of playing a certain genre of gaming that altered my brain chemistry for better and for worse.

this post will contain a mass list of reviews/thoughts/reflections for every gacha game i’ve played, or at least, every gacha game that i remember playing. i will be going in chronological order from the first gacha that i played to the last, but the quit times for all of them will definitely be out of order, but i’ll list that ordering at the very end.

* with story and fandom experience there was usually a 50/50 chance i would look into it, a lot of the times i was just there for the gameplay so i may not comment much on some stories/fandoms

there will be a lot of lightning rounds/chapters since my memory is either pretty foggy or pretty neutral lmao— should be expected but heed my warning as there will be spoilers, and now without further ado, here is my history on playing gacha games

chapter 1: honkai impact 3rd

★★★☆☆ status: f2p, casual

you’d think i’d have more memorable experiences with honkai considering it was my first gacha game, but honestly the only thing i vividly remember was wanting to collect every character in-game and failed miserably cause my luck was awful. needing to hit pity almost every time all while being f2p sucked, and since i rarely pulled for gear it just made my experience not that great since i would barely get the bare minimum rewards for memorial arena and abyss.

apho was a nice break from everything, i really liked the vibes of the first one which is definitely foreshadowing another game i’ll be talking about later.

i don’t really have much really any fandom experiences. most interaction i would have is with my armada which i left a long time ago. there were very nice people there so at least i left the ‘fandom’ experience on a high note :]

overall, my experience based on my memory was kinda meh. i got tired of trying to keep up with every patch and just left since there were just other games that i found more rewarding at the time.

chapter 1.5, honorable mention: guns girl z

★★★⯪☆ status: f2p, casual

while in my honkai phase, i also wanted to check out hoyo’s previous game, which honestly was very fun while it lasted. the semi-side scroller/pick-up-and-play was what i was (and probably still am) into at the time, and i really liked the art style. there were a few hiccups here and there with localization (especially when the text would go off screen 💀), but it didn’t really bother my experience all that much since i was more gameplay focused than story focused. honestly, only reason i left was cause glb servers shut down. if they didn’t shut down (or if i was persistent enough to continue with a cn acc) i would’ve definitely played it for a lot longer.

chapter 2: genshin impact

★★☆☆☆ status: spent on bp once or twice i forgor, casual

i was originally gonna skip this game entirely when i first heard of its announcement, but one of my irls kept bugging me to play only to quit as soon as i fully caught up 💀

while i did read the main story, like i said, i was originally gonna skip this game entirely since honestly, it just didn’t pass the vibe check for me, and that vibe check was correct LOL. story to me just didn’t feel that interesting. while there were some fun tidbits here and there, i kinda clocked out after inazuma’s story.

around the time i joined was when childe was first debuting, and i really wanted him as his playstyle was vastly different compared to the other characters at the time and i just like him as a character when i encountered him in story. aaaand then that’s when i discovered that genshin had a 50/50 pity system and got spooked by mona. honestly i could’ve just left right then and there considering the reason i got into the game in the first place pretty much left as soon as i joined, but i liked the world exploration enough to where i stuck around for way longer than i should have :p

if honkai didn’t already give the hint that i can’t get every character, genshin DEFINITELY sealed the deal for me. from the 4 years i’ve played this game i’ve won 50/50 maybe like 5 or 6 times? i never really kept a tracker but the main point is my luck was awful LOL. getting like 60 primos per day for pulls that are 160 each and have a hard pity of 90 just didn’t really sit right with me. i know there’s soft pity and all that but i hate that that even exists in the first place. idk i’ve grown to expect the worst case scenario and i hate trying to calculate how many primos i need to get a character that may or may not appear earlier than hard pity.

spiral abyss was meh for me, i didn’t really participate in it much unless i was either extremely bored or was desperate for primos.

fandom experience i avoided it as much as possible. i don’t even need to explain why given what has happened over the past years 💀

overall, i mainly just liked the exploration part of the game. it kinda became that one game i would play if i was extremely bored and had nothing else to do and just wanted to keep myself busy. max exploring sumeru was awful tho. i never want to experience something like that again.

chapter 3: punishing: gray raven

★★⯪☆☆ status: spender, semi-competitive

i assume this is the chapter most of my moots will scroll to to find my thoughts on this game LOL (luv u all 🫶).

i was originally interested in this game cause i saw lee in the promo art LOL, and also cause my honkai armada was gonna try it out and i wanted to join the hype. thankfully, because i had prior “experience” through honkai, pgr’s gameplay wasn’t that big of a learning curve as the main difference was the orb system.

story within the first 8 chapters is relatively slow, but it introduces you to the main squads you’ll be seeing throughout the story and it starts to pick up pretty quickly after that. the darker atmosphere definitely appealed to me more than i realized, and it kinda clicked that this is what i wanted honkai to be: lower pity, very f2p friendly, it’s not required to follow a meta to get max rewards, etc.

during my lee simping era my experiences with the fandom were a bit, mixed,,, on one hand i’d have a group who are fully supportive and even add fuel to the flame of simping over lee together, and the other i’d get slandered for liking him, even jumping to conclusions as to who i am as a person (e.g. my only personality was that i liked male characters).

as much as i wanted to avoid the latter, those groups of people were in the same guild server as those of the former, and for essentially 2 or so years i felt a strong sense of not belonging yet persisted in pushing that feeling aside in hopes that it would change. spoiler alert: it did not, in fact, it got even worse.

posting on pgrtwt or in the guild server felt like i was stepping on glass, and i hated that feeling. being an admin in the guild server never felt like i existed, despite putting in a fair amount of contribution to the server. it felt like i was working overtime for a project that very little to no one cared about. if you wanna try looking for me there, head’s up, you won’t lol, i left the guild server a long time ago and i’m in a better place than if i were to be stubborn and stay. i’ve become a folklore at this point with my sudden disappearance which i find really funny.

but in general, as a former artist of the fandom and a former casual player, the environment now just doesn’t feel safe, at least everywhere except tumblr lol

the game itself wasn’t as bad as it is now, i’m only saying it’s bad now cause of the recent synchronization plan of having 3 patches happen all within a month and that just feels very overwhelming considering it’s all happening so suddenly and we just have to deal with it. based on what was shown in cn, future patches also just don’t interest me anymore. i kinda lost motivation to log in after noctis patch, but stuck around till qu’s patch just cause i wanted the matching cerberus skins lol.

i’ve made quite a handful of friends whom i still talk to and appreciate to this day, but the nail in the coffin for me was the fandom experience, especially during pyroath's announcement. again, it doesn’t feel safe for artists or casual players. it feels like the meta is forced down your throat and if you don’t follow it you’re wrong. when alpha was first debuted after launch the amount of backlash i got for rather building a physical team with lee was absurd. i felt awful trying to make friends in the community, which bled into my feelings about the game. because i had majority negative experiences in the fandom, those feelings ended up transferring over to the game.

story kinda lost me after they started introducing the multiple timelines. it also lost me when there’s so much lore compared to gameplay in each chapter and to me that felt very heavy in a bad way. like i couldn’t really get a breather till i’m done with the chapter overall (i prefer to read story in one sitting since if i space it out i easily forget what happened prior and would need to start from the beginning). i also don't really like how skk is dragged everywhere. i'd prefer for skk to only appear when gray ravens as a whole appear, and have different squads shine with how they manage themselves without any of skk's involvement.

small side note the character designs confuse me from time to time. i kinda wish they looked more robotic to yk, emphasize that they're constructs, rather than appear more human-like just so their m.i.n.d stays stable or whatever.

overall it was fun while it lasted. i definitely have fun memorable moments like staying up all night in vc malding through phalanx just to get all the collectibles offered, or co-oping cause we needed to mald for a co-op gabriel collectible. the fun memories will always be cherished, but it doesn’t excuse the unhealthy environment provided by the loud incels of the community.

chapter 4: alchemy stars

★★★★☆ status: f2p, only bought skins, casual

love, love, LOVE the artstyle. the game also being strategy-focused was honestly so much fun, tho i’m a sucker for puzzle/strategy games. i pretty much only pulled for characters that i liked, so i rarely ran out of lumambers unless if i wanted to get characters that had back to back banners. story i didn’t really pay that much attention to, but from what i’ve heard it was also amazing. i rarely felt bored when logging on, and i just had a very fun time. i didn’t really expect leaving as soon as i did, but life got pretty busy and i just slowly decreased my playtime till i stopped altogether. if it wasn’t getting an eos, this game would definitely be up there for one of the games i would’ve played long-term if i didn’t have such a hectic schedule.

chapter 5: project neural cloud

★★★★☆ status: f2p, only bought skins, casual

joined cause of aki, stayed cause of story. each sector had a nice ratio of gameplay to story. it didn’t give you so much lore dump all in one go and battles are timed at the right locations to get sort of a breather from everything. it having auto-play and eventually auto-clear features made dailies SO much more easier to manage, it felt like one of those games where it was story first, gacha later. tho in my experience, really the only teams that i had to keep changing were my sniper teams, adding in clukay, clotho, and eos and managing how their synergy works. my warrior team was basically hatsuchiri, magnhilda, aki, and some other healer/support, and that team held up pretty well. to be fair i also played very casually, so the gacha part was the least of my worries since i was more interested in story. i think out of all the gacha games listed here neural cloud is gonna be the one i miss the most. i loved the story, the strategy gameplay, the characters, it just hit every check box for my kind of game i would play long term, except for the part where it’s a gacha game at the end of the day. i may just end up reading story elsewhere since there has to be some sort of archive of all the chapters so far.

chapter 6: tower of fantasy

★★⯪☆☆ status: f2p, casual

from the little i’ve played it seemed fun, my gacha experience wasn’t all that bad but i was mostly there for exploration and playing with friends. i left solely cause tof could barely run on my ipad, it crashed every like 5-10 mins and i got pretty tired of it :’]

chapter 7: obey me & obey me: nightbringer

★⯪☆☆☆ 0.75 of a star per game /hj status: f2p, casual

i’m merging the 2 into one chapter since my thoughts on them are very similar.

for the original obey me, i honestly still don’t get why the story continues past lesson 20. they could’ve fleshed out mc’s relationship between everyone while they were still there for the exchange program. a LOT can happen in one year, yet for example belphie hating humans kinda just goes away once he finds out mc is lilith’s descendant??? also beel, which was one of my favs, doesn’t really get much more out of his character aside from ‘he eats a lot’ which is so ????? like i get he’s supposed to be the sin of gluttony but surely you can characterize him more than just him wanting to eat a lot and feeling guilty about lilith. of course, i could be missing a few key details given i quit not too long after i started playing, but it just didn’t sit right with me and my brain just never came to terms with it, so i left LOL

nightbringer i honestly just got tired of playing the same songs over and over, i rarely stuck around for story and idk why they needed a separate game altogether.

the events and gacha in both games don’t feel that rewarding. as someone who has been f2p in both, trying to get characters that i want *cough, mammon* is like challenge impossible given how unforgiving the rewards are.

idk this game just wasn’t for me. given they’re supposed to represent the 7 deadly sins, you’d think there’d be more heavier themes brought up, but it just feels like i went to a school about how to be a wizard and the 7 people i met just so happen to have the names of the 7 sins.

chapter 8: what in hell is bad?

oh boy, where do i begin,,,,

honestly mammon was a love at first sight moment for me so that’s really why i joined the game LOL

the concept seemed interesting enough, especially when each of the kings actually dive into the good and bad of their respective sin. what threw me off the most was how much i hated the mc more than any of the devils or angels HGJFDHGK. idk it’s like their only personality is being addicted to corn, which i personally hc it as a coping mechanism for a mental health issue that we’re unaware of just yet. however as much as i wanna talk about story, there really isn’t much story that’s given in the first place since main story updates are insanely slow and majority card stories are borderline or straight up paywalled given the in-game income received. f2ps have been struggling since launch, spenders are probably getting tired of spending nearly every patch, and we’re constantly given empty promises cause the company underestimates the production time to execute said promises. we essentially wait for like almost half a year for at most 5 mins of main story excluding the tedious gameplay in between each story segment.

if you want a gacha tower defense game, just play arknights. whb doesn’t even know how game balancing even works. i even made a whole spreadsheet to show how rough this game is in terms of building their characters. they build the character’s kits as if no one levels them up, skill levels are way too expensive given our daily/weekly/monthly income, and not everyone can afford getting a character’s sig.

this game is clearly meant to be more story focused, but again, there’s very little story and all past event stories are paywalled too, which limits f2p experiences.

there’s a clear meta of using only light characters, or more specifically, light L-rank characters, which sucks cause then that means all other elements are essentially deemed useless with how powerful light element is against all other elements except itself. there is also a noticeable pattern of there being very little to no supports, as if the devs intentionally planned on making the gameplay essentially ‘just krill everything before they krill you’ which is insanely dumb. mammon and lucifer being the only good tank and healer respectively (hell, even mammon can be a better healer than an actual healer) is just very disappointing. we have more than enough snipers and close-rangers— GIVE US MORE SUPPORTS.

for it to be more story focused, it is also very, VERY roughly translated. the constant misgendering just made me wish they kept mc as gender neutral so that the devil’s tango scenes can easily apply to everyone.

afaik they’re also currently in the works of creating a pg-13 version of this game, most likely so that they could release whb in their own country. which on one hand is understandable, but on the other, there’s already so many flaws and bugs with the *current* version of whb, and they’re just gonna amplify that with the other version. i just wish they could focus on debugging the game rather than borderline ignore it unless if it stops the user from logging on.

overall this game is very, VERY p2w. while the concept of the kings’ portrayals was interesting, the execution has been pretty lackluster. the gacha rates are awful and will worsen as more characters are added to the pool. no pity on either standard banners, pity on limited banners is way too high given the f2p income, currency income for limited and standard banners is very, very low. lots of bugs, mistranslations, even the bare minimum of game balancing isn’t even there. it feels like we’re the beta test players for a game that has yet to give its full release and not actual players playing a fully released game. quite honestly this is probably the worst gacha game i’ve played, you can probably even see my descent to heavily disliking this game through previous whb rants lol. only upside is that the fandom (on tumblr at least) is very chill, i love reading people’s interpretations about the blorbos.

chapter 9: wuthering waves

★★⯪☆☆ status: f2p, casual

i honestly just played for the exploration aspect LOL

given it was released during my summer break, wuwa just became that one game i’d play out of boredom. the playstyle’s fun since it gave pgr vibes, but the story was kinda meh for me. the lore dump at the very start followed by some of the dialogue not showing up kinda threw me off and i just stopped paying attention altogether. at least there’s a skip button so that’s a plus.

every time i lost 50/50 i kept getting lingyang which kinda sucked. don’t get me wrong i love the littol meow meow, i even picked him right after i got verina, but i did NOT need more copies of him LOL. aside from that my pulls were actually better than i expected. got early for yinlin and changli and early on their sigs respectively too.

fandom is just as rough as pgr’s but on a larger scale imho. tried to steer away from it as much as possible and that’s honestly for the better.

i really just stayed around for yinlin, mostly cause she’s wuwa’s vera and i love vera a “normal” amount. ended up leaving after max exploring everything cause i was just bored. school was starting back up again and wuwa just didn’t pass the vibe check.

you may or may not be wondering why i’m quitting gachas altogether despite saying in a few reviews that i would continue playing some of them if they weren’t a gacha game, but the answer to that is just the gacha cycle needed to end and 2/3 of those games have been/are getting eos’ed 💀. there’s definitely better places where i could be spending my time and money, like investing in my oc universe and saving up for when robo ky is in strive.

will i ever go back to gachas in the distant future? i doubt it. i think i'm finally burnt out from it to where if i see it again in the future, i'd just have bad flashbacks appear and not want to play it.

i felt like a broken record throughout some of these reflections, but anyways, that’s all i wanted to ramble about honestly. i’ve been working on revamping my oc universe and my toyhouse by extension since i really wanna go back and actually finish what i started

hbjhkgvhj ok here are uh. some character designs i did abt a year ago

these are all based on the incredible @kayzero's fic zero win game, which is a rewrite of ztd with akane as the protagonist, and it has possibly THE BEST characterization of akane ive ever read- listen just. just go read it you will be enriched i promise.

im not putting an image description bc i dont know where to start (sorry!!) BUT ill put a bunch of character design notes below the cut for people who are insane like me <3333

ok first of all. i know when i sent these to kay the other day they said there were some details canon to zwg that i missed (akane's lil hoodie pocket, aoi wearing white to contrast junpei's black (which is SO inspired btw.)) so just. PRETEND those are there bc i forgor <3

i spent the most time on sigma, phi, akane, junpei and aoi just because they've had multiple iterations of designs. it was fun to take bits and pieces from each version of them, so thats why they get a feature page

you can see a lot of my little pink notes with criticisms of the ztd designs there. in general, i really dont like the ztd designs, they all feel unnaturally bland to me (although thats probably also the artstyle).

most people whove looked into the colour symbolism in zero escape are probably familiar with the whole red/blue thing: that is, theyre colours representing the morphogenetic field. akane and aoi are the most obvious examples of this. 'aka' means red, and 'ao' means blue. in the first nonary game, akane and clover wear red - the colour for transmitters - and aoi and light wear blue, the colour for recievers. in 999 proper, akane wears purple, to symbolise how she can recieve AND transmit, while junpei wears red and blue by themselves. you can do a whole analysis of these colours and i will not put it here thats a whole SEPERATE post

anyway! the actual designs!! i'll start with sigma. i wanted to reconcile his vlr design with zero ii's design, and initially i planned on giving him a coat, but it didnt really have a nice silhouette, so i ditched that idea. instead, i turned his jumpsuit from vlr into a polo shirt - much like what he has in ztd - and gave him some zero-y accessories: the white turtleneck, the belt and the gloves all come from zero's design. once id included the white turtleneck, making the pants white felt really logical. in character design, its generally best to limit the palette of colours as much as you can, so it was a good excuse to reuse a colour while also paying homage to his ztd design. i also cut his hair bc hes a scientist and he'd do that.

phi's design is a lot more like her vlr one than her ztd design. the blue coat was her hallmark accessory, and im shocked that they ditched it for ztd, so i gave it back - along with her boots and hair accessory. i kept her pants and glasses from ztd, as well as the way the bottom of her shirt is tucked into her pants. they just have a much nicer silhouette to me. between my first pass of colours and my second pass, phi's colours changed the most - i realised i had too many blue guys in the lineup, and wanted to make the colours stand out individually. so i leaned into phi's orange-ness. giving her hair accessory, pants and boots an orange hue instead of a blue one, as well as shifting her coat to a more teal colour really helped make those colours pop.

AKANE MY BESTIE!!!! her design was probably the one i had the most fun with. i basically just took her ztd design and purpled it. I did want to include some more details though - her neck scarf was in both her 999 AND vlr design, so it felt wrong not to include it. i also added some gold highlights to her design, just to complement the purple - her boots are also toned yellow, so it felt fitting. the cut of her sleeves, as well as her hair, felt really natural: i gave her the side ponytail from ztd, while letting more of her hair fall to the side to retain her silhouette from 999. i stole the sleeves wholesale from vlr akane, but can you blame me. look at that robe. its so pretty.

overall i have mixed feelings on ztd junpei as a character, but i think his darker turn is at the very least a fun direction to take him. I do like the jacket he has in his concept art. IT SURE WOULD BE NICE IF THE MODEL ALSO HAD A JACKET. his design went relatively unchanged overall, i basically just retoned his hair, gave him a button-up instead of a t-shirt, and puffered his jacket. the red and blue from his vest in 999 is reused here, but in darker, more muted tones. you can see in the corner of the drawing i played around with swapping the red and blue, but the red focus felt too edgy for junpei. the blue also pops really nicely against his dark clothes, so i kept it.

anyone who has spoken to me for more than ten seconds will know how insane i am about aoi kurashiki i mean come on my name is santa. i think a lot about his two designs: that of the first nonary game and in 999. in the first nonary game he wears a blue scarf, harkening to his role as a reciever, but in 999 he wears monochrome. my personal interpretation of this is that his 999 fit was him purposefully disguising his connection to the morphogenetic field. so post-999, since he doesnt have to worry about that, i gave him his blue back!!! his general fit is the same- his pants and shoes are artistry so obviously i kept those, and i ended up making the rest of his look black to contrast his 999 design. if i were to redesign him now wearing white, id probably go a different direction altogether. that third little drawing ive included has some test outfits for him, carlos, and maria, but i never really went anywhere with them. also i gave him dark roots to show his relation to akane a bit more. and also because i like projecting my roots always grow back SO fast

that brings us to the 4 characters introduced after vlr: carlos, mira, diana, and... maria??? yeah like i said go read zero win game. do it. maria is such a fun character. she was, coincidentally, ALSO the only character where i had to design someone from scratch. you can see i fiddled a little with colour palettes, trying to figure out how to give every character a unique look. diana and carlos' designs actually go almost unchanged here- i think dianas design in particular is actually pretty great, and works as a nice foil to luna in vlr. carlos is just kind of normal. he can have his silly polo shirt.

miras ztd design is. ugh ok look its FINE but i hate the boobie designs in zero escape because they always feel like they were designed seperately from the character. mira in zwg is still a sussy baka, but she's a lot more cordial- i enjoyed seeing her more as a snake lying in the grass. I ended up giving her green because its a fun colour to give characters who youre meant to distrust. SO MANY TIMES reading zwg i was like "oh maybe mira's chill - oh wait maybe shes not - oh wait maybe shes chill again" and i love her for that honestly. she still gets boobies because i love women but i gave her a fun little long sleeved corset top. the amount of skin she shows directly correlates to the amount you should trust her (i am only half joking.)

i wont talk about diana because honestly the only change i made was giving her a little blue strip at the bottom of her skirt, but i'll talk about maria and carlos together. carlos i kept as a little pink boy because i love him and i love pink and listen its my character design ill do what i want. maria in ztd AND in zwg experiences reverie syndrome, which is connected to the morphogenetic field. her and carlos' designs both incorporate red and blue again- (just realised diana also has red and blue. pretend that was intentional) -to show their connection to the field. yes yes i know its pink but listen its red enough. like aoi, i gave maria and carlos both different iterations of their designs. i'm less sold on carlos', but i did actually like the baggier, heavy designs for maria. with those ones she looks more depressed than she does wearing overalls, so im calling that a win. maria's was the design i was least satisfied with overall, but hey i did these like a year and a half ago and ive gotten much better since then soo.

pretty cool! i love nuclear power! this station powers something like half the homes in the state or some shit. pretty poggers! now the intersting bit. again, it has 54 reviews! thats kinda a lot, especially for, yknow. a power plant. as expected, most of them are just star ratings, no text, standard, then you get the text ones, some pretty standard like this one

oh people genuinely leaving good reviews and people leaving silly ones. but then, if you look, you see this

whats so special about november 15 2021? so, while my digging hasnt been able to reveal the actual source of this, the earliest mention of this is the screenshot above though i cant get a specific date on the review bc of how google works. the other two earliest mentions, besides other reviews, are an ifunny meme

and a reddit meme on r/oddlyspecific

at this point you get a bunch of reviews like these that seem to be people gladly joining in on the joke

now obviously, the reactor did not melt down. i assume part of this is spurred by fears set into motion because of the plant shutting down for a period of time in 2011 after a 5.8 (i think) magnitude earthquake sparkes an 'unusual event' which is the lowest rating an event can have in the us for nuclear powerplants. it basically means something happened but nothing harmful, from what it seems, all the safety stuff worked as intended! the other thing that may have spurred it on is that in 2021 the plant was like, almost 50 years ago. the average lifespan for a nuclear powerplant is 40-60 years, so people were and are a little antsy that it has yet to be shut down. the plant, however, from all the stuff i read, has been licensed to stay active until its around 80 barring any incidents! now a small event did happen around that timeframe, but it was of course, not a meltdown of any kind, and it happened on novmeber 10th. if youre curious, link here so at this point this seems to just be people being #sillay in the reviews for fun. some just toss in november 15th as if it get it keyworked in the commonly mentioned feature, which is curious. im sure it has something to do with this strange joke about a meltdown occurring. all these reviews are kinda the same so im skipping one, but shoutout to the review that tosses in the the icecream machine worked. love the mcdonalds shade. so then we get a new interesting one,

bro is out here writing powerplant urban legends on his own in the google reviews. so of course, other people join in

hmmmmm . the characters with the most expensive hobby would definitely be Noel and Madi. Musical instruments are expensive. good thing their parents are rich! only one of them benefits from that though. guess who . ok tbh he doesnt actually own most of the instruments he uses in his shows. When Noel plays multiple instruments at once , he summons them similar to deuce summoning cauldrons .except Noel sends them back to where they came from once hes done. however ! he DOES own his trumpet and violin . theyre his favourites . even though hes kind of a dick Noel does feel super guilty every time he has to spend his parent's money, which is why he chooses to "borrow" the instruments he uses in his shows (he's not as evil as i make him out to be i promise 😭). oh my god how long ago did i start writing this . i thought i'd posted this months ago. anyway im gonna finish it now.

theyve all changed sooo much . originally everyone was a seperate character with no links . i almost scrapped madi once, made him transfem for about 2 months and then forgot he existed. then i made noel seperatelyy andddd decided to make them related :3

Asken was a brainworm that attacked me while i was at work once (i've had 3 jobs since then. huh) , designed , was told that his anatomy was wouldnt work and then left alone for ages (UNRELATED TO THE ANATOMY THING i just had no interest in him)

Lyn was also an abandoned character who i gave story relevance when i made Stian. Stian and Noel drove everything for the rest of these guys they would have no relevance otherwise oops .

tldr they were all irrelevant / undeveloped until Noel came along <3

AHHH LORE. when i say that i really mean time twins stuff i never posted about because i was embarrassed/wasnt finished thinking about it/fucking forgor so theres. A LOT. However there is one piece of lore that i think about a lot, which is Silvers memories : ) his backstory : ) cause obviously he had a life before 06 right?

Anyways i wrote something about it a while ago but was too embarrassed to post it. I got thinking about time twins around the time people were talking about how much Silvers parents mustve loved him and started imagining what it would be like for Silver to remember HIS parent, the ones from his original timeline.

Most of his memories leave him wanting. He doesn't remember his birth parents. He was far too young to remember them first hand, but he was raised by a bleeding heart who would tell him stories about them, even though all they knew about them was derived from the carefully built nursery they had found him near. He knew from those stories that they had loved him very much, that they cared for him while they could and now his new guardian did everything they could to live up to the hopes they had had for their baby. They dont actually know what exactly happened to his parents, but it wasnt hard to guess, since they found him at the epicenter of the latest iblis attack.

I have more ofc, including how Silver got to fighting Iblis with Blaze, more on Venices family, etc, this is just one thing ive thought about but i want to reply to this sooner rather than later, and its like 1 am already 💀

gif warning on this one!

i was gonna post this last night but apparently i am now the type of person who gets extreme digestive distress from indian food :-( so i was too distracted by my agonies. much better today, and i feel like i had a worse reaction a few weeks ago from indian food, so maybe it's something that will get better with time like everything else ...

listening: so my brother spontaneously bought us tickets to see st vincent in [redacted] while we're on vacation...i haven't listened to her in ages but i was like sure why not...her new album dropped on the 26th and it's SO good. i'm kinda obsessed and very excited to see her live now. it's a good album. listen to it.

listened/watched the wtyp on five over ones, and started the more recent one on the camp fire.

reading: continuing 'how to read poetry like a professor'. yum. poetry.

watching: once again, dunmeshi (my boyf keeps asking "when is best girl showing up" (izutsumi) and i finally was able to be like "i think next episode"), more asobi asobase. insane show. the voice actors are masters of their craft, truly. good lord.

playing: fallow.

making: some stuff came out of the kiln that i actually like! the cave painting mugs!!! i made One fatal error - i put a 'satin' topper over the outside assuming it would be matte. it. kinda isn't? kinda is? made these weird "jizzy" (instructor's words, not mine, lol) streaks. thankfully it isn't too noticeable and they came out really good otherwise. the hardest part has been photographing them, the designs go all the way around and choosing a favorite is so hard...i made a gif to try and capture it all lol, and i really love the little handprints on the handles. these will go in their own post in the next few days so i can tag the inspiring artist :)

i also threw some new ones to make more! i do think in the future i will be handbuilding them though. i just really don't like throwing red clay for some reason. maybe i just need to practice more i dunno. i've since trimmed and put handles on these but i forgor to take a photo.

citrus juicer! it works!! it came out a little more Orange than i anticipated, the only downsides are manually scooping out the seeds, and also that it can kinda only handle one fruit at a time, but man, whatever, it's so cute.

mug/teacup that i tried a new underglaze technique on, where i put the flowers on the greenware and then use liquid latex to cover them to just slather the thing in the bg color: works well, i did this for the mug from last week too! my mistake with this one was putting that same jizzy satin overglaze on the flowers and it made them weird and blurry. it's cute otherwise though.

some stuff going in the kiln for bisque: fun texture bowl and a little trinket dish that i underglazed some cherry blossom trees on, inspired by something a friend in class did!

in terms of new things, today is actually the last day of class for me til i get back in july, so i will be trimming a pot and plate that i made last week but will otherwise just work on things i already have! the goal is just to leave things in a place where no extra clay work needs to be done; things can be left as greenware til i get back.

i also made some little watercolor palettes! for some reason the last one i made i didn't carve out material, i just sort of pressed in, and this made the whole thing a little wonky, so i'm hoping these will lay flat because i carved material out

eating: nothing of crazy note. made deb smittenkitchen's soy glazed chicken again because it whips ass.

misc: wough...fucked up day......butter chicken for dinner knocked me for a major loop last night and i wasn't able to sleep til like 1:30am from the Agonies, woke up to feed the cats and then went right back to bed...didn't get up til noon...but now i feel loads better so i might try to do some light exercise this afternoon before pottery, otherwise sleeping tonight is gonna be a nightmare lol. the goal for the afternoon is to submit my last thing for classes (takehome exam, it's not bad i just have to finish it up, and then i officially finished my masters degree (!!!)) and then do a little more for my meeting tomorrow morning. this time next week my brother will be here with me, and that following weekend we drive home together, so everything is about to happen very fast! i'm not gonna be home for as long this summer, and won't just be rotting in my room the whole time, so hopefully things will go much more smoothly mental health wise. fingers crossed! things are looking up! :)

MORE READING UPDATES OMLLLLLLL i forgor about this blog again. it will happen again tbh but i still have to go through all of the books i finished in late 2023 up to now... i'm gonna try and get as many as i can done but probably wont get all of them lol. probably very long post/rant + spoilers for various books under the cut

keep in mind i have shit memory and all of these books were finished a while ago so be warned for bad analysis and summaries

-How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu: this book was a collection of short stories that are interconnected through characters and a central storyline - a plague. i thought the concept was super interesting and i had heard really good things about it from people i share a reading taste with so i went into this expecting to be blown away and i just. wasnt. i LOVED some of the short stories and there were a few that made me cry, mainly snortorious and the robot dog story where the mom died, but other than that it was kinda a let down. the ending fucking sucked ngl. like i thought we were leading up to some profound moment, especially calling back to the chapter where people are relieving their memories in the dark, because i thought that was really compelling and interesting, but it was just fucking aliens. like it reallly feels like a cop out to me. like a whole "and it was all just a dream" type ending. im not gonna rate it actually yes i am i'd give it like 2.5-3 stars. only because some of the chapters were super hard hitting but other than that. meh.

-The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater: WHOOOOO BOY. i ate this shit up. god if i had read this in middle school or high school i am 100% certain it would have become my entire personality. like i fucking get it. i totally fucking get it. i'm treating the whole series as one book rn bc they all kinda blend together in my mind and its been a while but just. the fucking vibes. good lord the vibes were so good. can't pick out any 100% certain things i particularly noticed but i will reblog every webweave about this series there is trust. rating the entire series as 5 stars mostly because i listened to the audiobook and they did SUCH A GOOD JOB ON TH E AUDIOBOOK OML like. at first i was kinda thrown off bc i wasn't expecting it to be so. southern? but once i finished the first one i knew there was no way i could just go back to reading it with a physical book like audiobook all the way the narrator was so awesome and i love the southernness of it.

-What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher: my first t. kingfisher book! i loved the vibes, the world, the whole new set of pronouns, that shit was so fun, overall a nice short and sweet creepy ass fucking book. like im a huge wimp so i was deffo nervous and freaked out at some points, especially with the rabbits lol idk why but those were unnerving. the author did a really good job of conveying the mc's anxiety and fear while also adding in some humor and soldier rationality and stoicism. lol. cute i liked it 3.5/4 stars.

-Fault Lines by Emily Itami: tbh mostly picked this one up for the cover and it was really just a standard cheating story where the mc gets back together with her original husband because of their kids. nothing i remember to be groundbreaking at all really. 2.5 stars

-Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez: I really wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. the pov changes i think were very well done and intentional and weren't confusing at all! the narrators for the audiobook were wonderful and really brought life to the story, a lovely book.

-She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan: honestly, looking back on it, i was never really captivated by this story. it took me a long time to get into it, and i really never connected with any of the characters. a lot of it was more confusing than not, and i'm honestly not sure if i feel the need to continue the series. may be a case of me not being in the right mood for it, but i don't see myself trying it again. kinda sad cuz i was excited to love this but oh well. win some lose some.

-Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr: hands down my fav book of 2023 and one of my fav books of all time. like i have a feeling this review is going to be either very long or very short because there is no way i will be able to write out all the ways i love this book. the owl motif. the environmental extremism from seymore that i can 100% relate to. the way that he fell down that path in a way that felt realistic to me, based on his circumstances, and it isn't implied in my opinion, that all autistic people are like this, that all autistic people can take things to the extreme like seymore did. the audiobook was wonderful. the interconnected stories over time i think is one of my new favorite tropes/plots/metas. if done well (cough how high we go in the dark) it gets me every single time. XENO and everything about him. i was listening to the audiobook at work and during his death i had to fight back tears lol. god. and the kids in the play and how they wanted to end the story.... fuck my life. and konstance and her curiosity and oh my god everything about this book messed me up. 5/5 i think thats all i'll be able to say before i combust.

-Chlorine by Jade Song: what a weird little book. really liked it. audiobook slayed. not much else to say. recommend for weird lesbians. 3.5/4 stars.

-A Dowry of Blood by S. T. Gibson: THE AUDIOBOOK NARRATOR IS SO FUCKING GOOD AT HER JOB I COULD LISTEN TO HER TALK ALL DAY I THINK IM IN LOVE WITH HER. the story was really good love a good vampire story love a good creepy story. fun time. listened to the audiobook in like an hour hour and a half car ride it was a good time. 3.5 stars.

and that ends off all of the books i read in 2023 !!!!!!! YIPPEEE!!!!! i'll stop here and make a separate post for the books i've read so far in 2024 just for organizational purposes and also because i am hungry and need to stop lol. if you made it this far through the post i love you and also sorry for the long rant but also too bad because this is my blog and you clicked on it. happy reading :)

so this is something i did for my GCSE art mock exam, it was a while ago and i just forgor to post it lol. it's based off of any Warhol's Marylin Monroe pop art piece.

i took photos of myself then blew them up to size so i could trace some details and get a basic shape before paining the background and line art, i wanted each background to be drastically different from the other so i used different techniques that also correspond with the emotion on the square, for example "bubbly" for happy, "soft and fuzzy" for love and whatnot. i had a last minuet idea while doing the line art before i painted the faces, what if i... didn't add the faces? the backgrounds are pretty expressive themselves, so i thought it would be "hip" if i left the faces blank and let the background speak for itself.

sorry im shit at explaining things lol. also if you want to know what mark i got for this i go at A+ :D, i was so fumkin happy when i got my result back i had to go into a separate room and wave my lil' hands around and make noises like a weirdo. if i can get an A+ in a mock exam, i can sure as hell get at least an A or B+ in my actual exam! just need a lil' pushin'!

JANUARY silly lizard oc i generally dont do much single line hatching, so it was nice to fiddle with it this time

FEBRUARY the wittle scrunkly lizard last time i drew this one, they were an lps shitpost, so its nice to like draw them normally lol

MARCH herman is running out of time glasses axolotl but make him neon idk

APRIL fancy calico i honestly dont know whats up with the clothes, i just kinda drew whatever tbh

MAY yippie!! toontown oc! was playing ttcc w/shard and co, this is the character i ended up making i also got covid around april-march iirc so i was feeling horrid for a while (and the remaining symptoms didnt clear up till like june)

JUNE an oc i got years ago but didnt have the confidence to draw for a while lmao anyways i like her colors and shape, she's fun

JULY mandatory artfight posting this was one of the last ones i did! ocs belong to pookapooka and they were so fun to paint

idk if ill be doing artfight again tbh. ive been doing it consistently since sun vs moon but its honestly felt less fun ever since the tiktok invasion`and how ppls behavior has changed, and especially since the whole ownership thing that happened mid fight this year. (not interested in any of the alternatives ive seen either bc they have the same issues, notably worse issues, or are not furry friendly) but tbh that might just be me being disenchanted with online art spaces due to the intensifying shittification of basically everything, fucking rip

AUGUST ring but hes going to jail (again but for real this time) the staxie monthly prompt was barbie mugshots but i . . . i did this with ring and lumos and promptly forgor to do this with cakes and ale like i was planning to lmfao im actually gonna watch the barbie movie tonight, renting it so i can watch it on the big tv (didnt watch in theaters bc expensive (movie tickets are generally 15-25 bucks in my area (compared to the 5-10 in my aunt's area (renting is cheaper per person)), and they changed the chairs to these weird uncomfy pleather recliners that make my skin crawl to "justify the price raise" + i hate sitting for more than an hour i need water, bathroom, stretch, and snack breaks))

SEPTEMBER ganache went over the hedge was very busy w/projects so i did little casual art this was inspired by me comparing the over the hedge version of supermarket by ben folds (upbeat & high energy) vs the one by the clash (melancholy + commercial-induced agony) ever since then i cant stop thinking abt how much the lemon demon guy's voice sounds like the fucking clash guy sdjkhfkjsd also over the hedge was one of my favorite movies as a kid and i watched it at least 10 times before we had to return the dvd to netflix. i also regularly played the flash games on the site until i forgot about it after finding out about miniclip + notdoppler from other kids and decided to use those for flash games instead bc more options lol
