hello :)

i’m keemi / jess and i decided to rejoin tumblr after much reminiscing

here are some fun facts about me or whatever it is that you do in intro posts

i’m a certified film & tv makeup artist and i do sfx work

i like to collect vhs tapes, dvds, records, cds, etc., and i know too much movie trivia

i love art history as a whole, but mainly film, music, and fashion

i play many instruments, but mostly piano and guitar

and here are some things i like that i will probably post about

bands/music in general — i listen to a plethora of genres and artists but mostly 60s-00s rock/punk/goth/riot grrrl what have you. including but not limited to: my chemical romance (clearly), black flag, the cure, L7, bikini kill, bratmobile, le tigre, depeche mode, siouxsie and the banshees, bauhaus, christian death, she wants revenge, twin temple, the cramps, agent orange, misfits, minor threat, specials, sisters of mercy, coven, circle jerks, dead kennedys, etc etc etc. the list could go on forever, so tldr; if you like something that isn’t mentioned but is in the same vein, i probably do too

movies — i’m a huge horror fan, but i love all genres :) again, some of my favorites are: green room, the fly (1986), the witch, twin peaks: fire walk with me (all of twin peaks in general, or any david lynch for that matter… blue velvet is an all timer…) (you know what, same goes for cronenberg — and his son!), the evil dead franchise, classic universal monsters & hammer horror, 1890s-1920s silents (film history regarding that era as a whole), the saw franchise, the texas chain saw massacre, the X franchise, the rocky horror picture show, the lighthouse (and the northman, and nosferatu… sensing a trend with directors), fantastic planet, giallo, nunsploitation, basically anything you’d find in the criterion collection at barnes & noble, etc etc etc. i could ramble on and on forever

i’m not as big of a comic book reader as i once was but tank girl will always hold a special place in my heart & in my humble opinion is one of the greatest comic book characters of all time

i used to collect antique and vintage clothing & cameras, and still enjoy talking and reading about them :)

i’ve been into cosplay for going on 10 years, you can find me on instagram under keemigram and tiktok as keemitheferg (although i don’t post nearly as much cosplay content as i used to lol)
