idol | megan skiendiel x reader
Tumblr media
song: radar - lil hero ⁍ requested: yes! thank you anon ⁍ genre: idol!megan x actor!reader. slowburn fluff, jealous megan, loser!megan ⁍ a/n: thank you for requesting this, anon! sorry for the delay in getting this out. i hope this is what you were looking for. ⁍ w.c: 17k ⁍ warnings: curt language, a little bit nsfw(?), more so just suggestive. ⁍ synopsis:
y/n, an up-and-coming actor in korea, casually let slip on a variety show that she might have the *tiniest* crush on a particular girl group member, megan skiendiel. lucky for her, she was already on megan's radar.
Tumblr media
“it was only a matter of time before you did something to make your pr team cry,” yunjin said, her voice thick with amusement as she leaned forward in her chair. “but god, y/n. i didn’t think you had it in you to be that bold.”
you didn’t bother to look at her. instead, you kept your focus on the half-empty iced americano in your hands, the straw poking at the lid like it had something to say too. “yeah yeah,” you muttered, tone dry. “keep it coming. get it all out.”
yunjin’s laughter filled the small recording studio, bouncing off the walls like an echo that didn’t know when to quit.
the first time you met her, you were rushing to a meeting at the hybe building, five minutes late and in no mood to reschedule. the elevator was almost closed when a hand slipped between the panels, smooth and effortless, like it was something out of a k-drama. yunjin stepped in a moment later, casual as anything, earbuds in, hoodie half-zipped, eyes flicking toward you.
she didn’t register who you were right away. not until she caught the outline of your face in the elevator mirror and did the most obvious quadruple take known to man. she grinned like she’d just won a bet. you raised an eyebrow. the doors shut.
your name had been climbing headlines at the time, especially after that marvel debut. you were still adjusting to the spotlight, to the way people started speaking about you like you were a headline first and a human being second. they called you the face of the next generation, a once-in-a-decade talent. you still weren’t sure what to do with that.
to her credit, yunjin didn’t immediately spiral. she told you later she’d nearly recited your entire filmography then and there but had somehow restrained herself. instead, she said, “you’re taller than i thought,” with a sort of breezy charm that made you laugh before you could stop yourself.
the novelty wore off quickly. by your third hangout, she was yelling at her flat iron over facetime and blaming you for jinxing her hair before mcountdown. the pedestal had crumbled, and in its place was something much better.
you adored her, truly. but right now? right now you wanted to strangle her.
“you do realize the internet’s having a meltdown, right?” she asked, glancing over her shoulder while fiddling with the dials on the studio mixer. “megan’s stans are going full detective mode. they’re gonna find the exact thread count of your bedsheets if you’re not careful.”
of course you knew. how could you not?
‎
‎it had all started at weekly idol. you and your costar, eunwoo, were the guests that day. minhyuk and hyeongjun were hosting. bright-eyed, energetic, and way too charismatic for nine in the morning. the moment you stepped on set, they bowed with exaggerated reverence and gasped like they’d seen ghosts.
“wow… everyone, protect the cameras,” minhyuk said, turning to the staff with mock urgency. “no way this equipment survives the visuals of both our guests at once.”
you laughed, cheeks heating despite yourself. the nerves hadn’t gone away even after a hundred interviews. your knee had bounced nonstop in the makeup chair. your hands wouldn’t sit still in your lap. you didn’t know why you were this on edge. it wasn’t like this was your first time.
eunwoo had noticed. he always noticed. he didn’t say much, but before your cue to enter, he gave you a quiet nod, a calm smile. just enough to settle the buzz in your chest.
the shoot went smoothly. laughter came easy. there was a moment you and eunwoo broke into an absurd duet of the show’s theme song, something so horrifically off-key that it ended up trending for twelve hours. and yet, what really caught fire was that one particular question.
“…so, y/n,” hyeongjun had said, reading off a laminated card with all the flair of a seasoned variety host. “you’ve caught the eye of the entire country. but has anyone caught your eye?”
you paused. of course you did. your manager’s disapproving face flashed through your brain like a warning siren, but you could already feel the words rising. the answer had been sitting with you for months now, quiet and patient.
you thought of coachella. of watching a failed backflip send some poor guy crashing to the ground mid-performance, which made you laugh for far too long. and how somehow, down that spiral of linked videos and fuzzy 420p livestreams, you ended up watching three girls play roblox with him. that’s when you saw her. megan skiendiel. orange wig, infectious laugh, that strange but graceful way she moved that made you look twice.
she was stunning. but it wasn’t just that. it was the way she felt. vibrant. sincere. like she wasn’t trying to be anyone but herself.
you could still remember the way your cheeks felt warm when you finally answered.
“uh, well, i don’t usually think about stuff like that,” you said carefully, then smiled despite yourself. “but i think katseye’s megan is absolutely gorgeous. i mean, i’d love to meet her. she seems fun. like the kind of person you’d want to be friends with.”
innocent enough.
‎
or so you thought.
now, here you were, spinning idly on a swivel chair in yunjin’s recording booth, trying not to meet her smug eyes.
“you should’ve said nothing,” she said, clearly enjoying herself. “or lied. something. anything. instead, you went full disney channel crush monologue.”
“i thought it was harmless,” you argued, voice climbing in pitch. “i didn’t think the entire internet would spiral into an fbi task force over a throwaway comment. seriously, doesn’t anyone have jobs?”
“you’re y/n,” yunjin shot back, twirling a pencil between her fingers. “you know people hang onto your words like they’re stock tips. you practically lit a flare above her name with that answer.”
“i didn’t even say anything that bad! i called her pretty and said she seemed fun. i said the same thing about you last week on dex’s fridge.”
“right, but you didn’t look like you were about to pass out from heart palpitations when you said it about me. you didn’t blush. you didn’t pause like you were imagining your wedding vows. babe, you looked like you were one blink away from writing her poetry.”
“you’re being so dramatic.”
“am i?” she raised an eyebrow. “because you may as well have held a ‘simp’ sign and worn a megan skiendiel stan shirt. even sungchan has more chill than that. sungchan, y/n.”
you groaned at the mention of your tall, hopelessly clumsy mutual. “low blow.”
“i’m just saying.” she shrugged, biting back a grin. “even you know i’m right.”
and unfortunately, you kind of did.
“okay, but for real,” yunjin said, dragging her chair over with a squeak that made you wince. she rested her elbows on her knees, chin in her hands, looking at you like she was about to stage an intervention. “what are you gonna do if she actually reaches out?”
you blinked, caught off guard by the shift in her tone. “what do you mean?”
“i mean, say she dms you. or tags you in some story. or, i don’t know, shows up at your next premiere with a bouquet of roses and a sign that says ‘hi crush.’ what then?” she asked. “you gonna freak out and melt into the floor? you gonna invite her to karaoke and try to play it cool while secretly dying inside?”
you turned away and took a long, pointed sip of your coffee.
“no, but seriously,” she pressed, clearly not letting it go. “you like her, don’t you?”
you snorted. “i’ve never even met her.”
“not what i asked.”
you sighed, letting your head fall back against the wall with a soft thud. “i don’t know. maybe.”
yunjin tilted her head. “that’s a yes.”
“it’s not a yes,” you said, but your voice was too quiet to sound convincing. “i just think she’s… interesting.”
“gorgeous, fun, interesting,” she ticked off on her fingers. “mmhmm. yeah. sounds like someone’s caught feelings off vibes and roblox streams alone. that’s powerful.”
you groaned again and rolled your eyes, but the sound that left your throat was somewhere between embarrassment and reluctant laughter. “you make it sound so unhinged.”
“it is unhinged,” she said without missing a beat. “but it’s also kind of cute. in a really stupid, romcom kind of way. you, falling for a girl you’ve never met because she made you laugh through a pixelated camera while dressed like a traffic cone.”
you narrowed your eyes. “it was a very good orange wig.”
“never said it wasn’t,” she said with a shrug. “you’re just proving my point.”
you exhaled slowly, running a hand down your face. “look, i didn’t mean for any of this to happen. i just answered the question honestly. i wasn’t trying to stir up some whole thing.”
“but you did,” she said gently. ”and maybe that’s not the worst thing in the world.”
you looked at her, unsure how to respond.
“she could be into it,” yunjin said, her voice lighter again. “she should be into it. if i was her, i’d be clearing my schedule and calling my stylist for a camera-ready fit. do you even know how many people would kill to be publicly flirted with by you?”
“i wasn’t flirting.”
“girl, you might as well have asked for her ring size.”
you groaned again and flopped forward, burying your face in your arms as yunjin broke into another fit of laughter. somewhere beneath the teasing and the noise, though, was something quieter. something you didn’t say out loud.
you kind of hoped she did reach out.
even just to say hi.
__
the dorm was quiet, save for the low hum of the refrigerator and the occasional creak of pipes behind the walls. manhua pages rustled faintly in the room next door, probably sophia flipping through her latest haul before bed, but otherwise the place had settled into a kind of hush that only came after midnight. the rest of the girls had turned in after rehearsals, legs sore, voices hoarse, the kind of tired that sank into the bones. megan had stayed behind in the living room, half-sprawled across the floor with a pillow hugged to her chest and a cold bottle of pocari pressed under her jaw.
she was still in her practice clothes, oversized hoodie and bike shorts, skin sticky with the last remnants of sweat she hadn’t bothered to wipe off properly. her hair was clipped up haphazardly, strands falling into her face as she stared down at her phone, blue light painting her features in a soft, ghostly glow.
she wasn’t really expecting anything when she opened twitter. just a quick scroll before bed, a way to shut her brain off after a day of hitting choreography until her ankles burned. but then she saw the video. saw her name. and froze.
“Y/N CONFIRMS SHE’S A FAN OF KATSEYE’S MEGAN 🫢🫢🫢”
she clicked it.
the clip wasn’t long. maybe thirty seconds, a little more. it was some variety show. she recognized eunwoo immediately, bright-eyed and relaxed in the way only he ever seemed to be on camera. y/n sat beside him, posture a little straighter than usual, nerves twitching under the surface despite the easy smile on her face.
megan watched the moment unfold. the way the question was asked. the pause. the sheepish smile.
“i think katseye’s megan is absolutely gorgeous.”
the words shouldn’t have done anything. people said things like that all the time. fans. hosts. stylists brushing out her hair before a shoot. it wasn’t new. but the way y/n said it, quiet, thoughtful, almost like she was holding back something bigger… it sat heavy in megan’s chest as the clip ended and replayed itself automatically.
she watched it again. and then a third time.
her notifications were already a mess. katseye’s name trending alongside y/n’s, clips being reposted with fan captions and edits, screenshots of the moment paired with captions like “megan better WAKE UP” and “y/n join the line babe”. she should’ve laughed. part of her did. but underneath it, something shifted. something warm and unsure and a little bit dizzy.
y/n had been on her radar for a while, if she was being honest. megan wasn’t the type to crush easily, but there was something about her. it started with a film. some sci-fi action thing that megan only half paid attention to until y/n showed up on screen and suddenly everything was more interesting. after that, it was interviews. behind the scenes clips. a fan edit that popped up on her for you page one morning and made her miss a whole subway stop because she got too caught up in it.
and now this.
megan opened y/n’s instagram without really thinking. her thumb hovered over the follow button. she stared at it for a long second, teeth sinking into her bottom lip.
she didn’t press it.
not yet.
instead, she set her phone down on the floor beside her and let her eyes drift to the ceiling. her heart was beating faster than it had any right to.
“gorgeous,” she murmured under her breath, voice barely audible. “fun. wants to be friends.”
maybe she could work with that.
‎
sleep didn’t come easy to her that night.  before she knew it, the night shifted to morning and she had to get up. the studio called her name, as it seemed to relentlessly the past month and some change.
sophia, daniela, and yoonchae were already mid-run-through when megan walked into the practice room, the tail end of the “gnarly” chorus echoing faintly from the speakers. sophia’s voice cut clean through the track, daniela’s movements sharp and deliberate. yoonchae was quiet, as usual, but every step she made was crisp, clockwork precise.
megan had barely stepped into the center of the room when she heard it.
“so.” lara didn’t even look up from where she was sitting, stretching her legs out and leaning back on her palms. “anything you wanna share with the class?”
megan blinked. “what?”
manon turned her head slowly from where she was sitting several notches away, a teasing gleam in her eyes. she answers as if it’s obvious. honestly, it really was. “y/n.”
megan tensed immediately. “oh god.”
“yup,” lara said, like she had been waiting all morning for this. “you’ve been blowing up on stan twitter since seven a.m. and don’t think we didn’t notice how fast you saved that clip on the shared account”
“i didn’t save it,” megan muttered, grabbing her water bottle a little too fast. “i just… happened to see it. once.”
“megan,” manon said, eyes narrowing just slightly. “you’ve been quiet all morning. the last time you shut the fuck up was when you saw scarlett johanson do the splits in that one captain america movie. don’t lie to us.”
lara laughed under her breath. “she said you were gorgeous, wanted to be friends. oh, how romantic. i bet you probably watched it ten times over.”
“i did not,” megan said, practically choking on her water. “i just didn’t expect it, okay? i wasn’t mentally prepared.”
“mentally prepared for what?” manon said, raising a brow. “a compliment? you’ve been in magazines. people compliment you all the time.”
“not her,” megan said, before immediately realizing what she’d just admitted out loud. she froze. “i mean. not like. you know. never mind.”
lara clapped once, too loud. “that’s it. someone get her phone. we’re crafting a dm.”
“absolutely not,” megan said, panic already bubbling in her chest. “i’ll die.”
“what are you gonna do?” manon said. “wait until she magically appears in the dorms living room?”
megan buried her face in her hoodie. “maybe.”
“this is tragic,” lara said. “you have the golden opportunity of a lifetime and you’re out here acting like she’s a tax bill.”
“can we please change the subject,” megan mumbled, voice muffled in fabric.
“nope,” manon said, standing up and walking towards her. “group vote says you’re dming her.”
lara held out a hand. “seconded.”
from across the room, daniela raised a hand mid-step. “thirded.”
megan didn’t even look up. “yoonchae. please. save me.”
yoonchae just gave a small shrug, barely breaking from the choreo. megan groaned into her sleeve.
yep. she was on her own. not even sophia batted an eyelash, the filippinas glossy lips tilting up into a small grin where she was by the mirrors.
megan sat down cross-legged on the floor with her phone clutched in both hands like it might explode. her back was hunched, eyes glued to the screen, and the expression on her face hovered somewhere between total focus and a full-blown identity crisis.
“you haven’t even opened instagram yet,” manon pointed out, sitting behind her and peering over her shoulder.
“i’m getting to it,” megan muttered.
lara flopped down next to her with a dramatic sigh. “this is painful to watch. if you go any slower, we’ll be here until yoonchae turns twenty-seven.”
megan unlocked her phone with a resigned swipe. “what do i even say? like. what do people say when they’re trying not to sound weird?”
lara took a breath. “okay. let’s start simple. ‘hi y/n, thanks for saying i’m pretty on tv—”
“i’m not saying that.”
“‘you have great taste in women’—”
“lara.”
“‘let’s be friends (or more if you’re free saturday night)’—”
megan covered her face with both hands. “why did i think listening to you was a good idea.”
manon leaned her chin on megan’s shoulder. “fine. try this. ‘hi, this is super random but i saw the clip from weekly idol and just wanted to say thank you. that was really sweet of you. hope we can meet someday!’ short, polite, friendly. not scary.”
megan peeked at her. “…that’s not terrible.”
lara squinted. “it’s boring.”
“it’s safe,” manon said, grabbing megan’s phone and typing it out with quick thumbs. “she’s not asking her to elope, she’s just acknowledging it.”
megan took the phone back and read it over like it was a contract. “…what if she doesn’t reply?”
“then you delete your account and we pretend this never happened,” lara said. “easy.”
“lara,” manon sighed.
megan stared at the message for a long moment. her thumb hovered. then tapped. then hovered again.
“just hit send,” daniela called from across the room, not even looking up from her stretching. “we can feel your hesitation from over here.”
“seriously,” sophia added, “you’re vibrating.”
megan sucked in a breath through her teeth. and then, with her eyes closed and her stomach in her shoes, she hit send.
silence.
lara let out the longest, slowest gasp. “it’s done.”
manon patted her back. “you’re very brave.”
megan immediately flopped backward onto the floor like she’d just run a marathon. “i need to lie here forever. let me perish in peace.”
lara just grinned and offered her a thumbs up. “she’s gonna love it.”
megan covered her eyes. “i hate everything.”
never in a million years would she have expected that one simple action to change everything.
__
the cafe was warm in that familiar, lived-in kind of way. wood-paneled walls framed by climbing ivy, soft light filtering through dusty windows, and the scent of espresso baked into the air like it had nowhere else to go. outside, a quiet drizzle tapped at the glass, slow and steady, painting the sidewalk in watercolor streaks. inside, the soft clatter of dishes and hum of conversation made everything feel just far enough from the noise of your schedule to breathe.
you were at a small table near the back, the kind that rocked a little if you leaned on it wrong. yunjin sat across from you, one leg thrown over the other, straw bent at an aggressive angle in her lemonade. beside her, sungchan had his jacket slung over his chair and a look of mild betrayal on his face as he stared down at the salad yunjin had goaded him into ordering.
“i’m just saying,” she said, picking a piece of arugula off his plate like it belonged to her, “you can’t order a burger four days in a row and then complain about your skin breaking out.”
“it’s called balance,” sungchan muttered, dragging his fork through the greens with the resigned air of someone deeply offended by roughage. “i had a banana this morning.”
“oh wow,” she deadpanned. “one whole banana. call the olympic committee, this man is the pinnacle of health.”
he gave her a flat look. “didn’t you eat instant tteokbokki at two in the morning and then text me about your stomach cramps like it was my fault?”
“okay, first of all, you’re my emotional support contact when i make poor life choices. second of all, i still looked hot while doing it.”
you blinked slowly, chin in your hand, eyes fixed on the screen of your phone where the message sat.
hi, this is super random but i saw the clip from weekly idol and just wanted to say thank you. that was really sweet of you. hope we can meet someday!
megan had sent it two nights ago. you’d seen it the moment it came in, heart tripping over itself in the dark quiet of your bedroom. you didn’t answer. not right away. you told yourself you were busy, that you had scripts to review, meetings lined up. you told yourself it wasn’t ghosting if you intended to respond eventually.
but even now, hours and hours later, you were still here. still staring. still unsure what to say.
you had never been this nervous to talk to someone before.
“okay, this is depressing,” yunjin said, snapping her fingers in your direction. “hey. eyes up. you look like someone just broke up with you via powerPoint.”
sungchan leaned in a little, squinting at you. “are you sick? you’re weirdly quiet. usually you’d be insulting us by now.”
“i’m not sick,” you said quickly, locking your phone and setting it face down on the table. “just… thinking.”
“thinking about what?” yunjin asked, tone tilting toward nosy in that way only close friends could get away with.
you hesitated.
“oh my god,” she gasped. “you’re in love.”
“i’m not in love,” you said, too fast, which only made sungchan snort into his water.
“that’s what people say right before they confess they’re in love,” he said, dabbing at his chin with a napkin like he hadn’t just inhaled half a slice of garlic bread. “who is it?”
“nobody,” you said.
yunjin leaned forward with the exact expression of someone who knew they were right. “it’s megan, isn’t it?”
you didn’t answer. you didn’t have to. the look on your face gave you away.
sungchan let out a low whistle. “oh. that megan. the ‘gorgeous, fun, would love to be friends’ megan.”
you groaned, resting your forehead on your palm. “do you all memorize everything i say or are you just stalking my interviews for sport?”
“yes,” they said at the same time.
“okay but seriously,” yunjin said, nudging your phone with one perfectly manicured finger. “she messaged you, right?”
you nodded.
“and you didn’t reply because…?”
you sighed. “i don’t know. because it’s her. because i don’t want to mess it up. because what if she’s just being nice and this whole thing is way more casual to her than it is to me?”
sungchan tilted his head. “you mean what if she’s cool and normal and not secretly writing fanfiction about you the way you’re doing about her?”
yunjin grinned. “do you want us to help you write back? or are you planning to keep having an existential crisis over a very cute dm?”
you glanced at the screen again. your reflection looked back at you in the black glass, soft and unsure.
“i’ll write back,” you said quietly.
“good,” yunjin said, leaning back in her chair with a pleased expression. “because if you didn’t, i was gonna pretend to be you and do it myself.”
“you’re terrifying,” sungchan said, which she accepted as a compliment.
you looked back at the message one more time. your heart was still beating a little too fast, but maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing. maybe it meant you actually cared. that it mattered.
you took a breath. opened the keyboard.
and started to type.
your fingers hovered for a second too long over the keyboard. the blinking cursor stared back at you like it knew you were stalling. you could feel yunjin’s eyes on you, sharp and expectant, like she might actually snatch the phone from your hands if you hesitated any longer. sungchan, mercifully, had gone back to his salad, occasionally picking at it like it was an alien lifeform.
hi megan! sorry for the slow reply, things have been a little hectic lately. i saw your message and honestly it kind of made my whole week lol. thank you for reaching out :)
you paused. read it again. deleted the smiley. retyped it. added a second sentence.
i’d really love to meet too if you’re ever free.
then you stared at it some more.
“this is painful,” yunjin muttered. “just hit send. what’s the worst that could happen?”
“she leaves me on read and i spontaneously combust from shame,” you said flatly.
“dramatic,” sungchan mumbled, chewing like a cow. “but valid.”
“she won’t leave you on read,” yunjin said, more gently this time. “she messaged you first. that counts for something.”
you looked down at the screen one last time. your thumb hovered over the send button. your stomach turned a slow, clumsy flip. and then, before you could second guess yourself again, you pressed it.
message sent.
you didn’t breathe for a full five seconds.
“there,” yunjin said, smug now. “look at you. being brave.”
“i already regret this,” you mumbled, locking your phone again and pushing it away like it might explode.
“do you want a cookie?” sungchan asked, peering at the dessert menu. “i feel like this moment deserves a cookie.”
you blinked at him. “why do you always want to eat after stressful emotional events?”
“because i am a man of simple needs,” he said, deadpan. “and also because cookies are comforting.”
“he’s not wrong,” yunjin said, flagging down the waiter with the kind of unearned confidence that came from growing up with three older siblings and no shame. except, she didn’t. “three chocolate chip, please. and a round of iced americanos. she’s going to need the caffeine.”
you sank back into your seat, still feeling the rush of adrenaline buzzing under your skin. outside, the rain had picked up a little, streaking the windows like silver threads. inside, everything smelled like sugar and espresso and something warm baking in the oven.
you didn’t know if megan would reply. maybe she’d be busy. maybe she’d forget. but for now, you’d done the hardest part.
you’d answered, and that felt like enough for today.
that was, at least, until your phone chimed.
the sound sliced through the moment like a needle popping a balloon. all three of you froze. your eyes shot to the screen where the notification banner was still lingering like a ghost.
megan skiendiel: that sounds perfect :) when are you free?
yunjin let out an actual gasp, loud and dramatic enough to make the table behind you glance over. sungchan dropped his fork.
“no way,” yunjin hissed, already leaning across the table to see. “no actual way. she replied that fast? is she a robot?”
you didn’t say anything. you just stared. your heart had lodged itself somewhere in your throat, beating so hard it made your ears ring. megan had replied. not just replied but enthusiastically. and with a smiley. the exact one you had almost deleted from your own message.
“hello?” sungchan waved a hand in front of your face. “earth to y/n. what did she say? is it something scandalous? are we finally getting to live vicariously through your love life?”
you shoved your phone toward them without speaking.
yunjin read the message out loud like it was a line from a sacred text. “‘that sounds perfect. when are you free.’” then she looked up at you with her mouth already forming a wicked grin. “she wants to hang out. like, actually hang out. she’s asking you out.”
“not asking me out,” you said quickly, the heat creeping up the back of your neck. “just… asking when i’m free.”
“same thing,” sungchan said, picking his fork back up and pointing it at you like it was a weapon. “in celebrity speak that is basically a confession of love. i’ve seen the charts.”
“you made those charts,” you reminded him.
“and they’re scientifically sound.”
“okay but seriously,” yunjin cut in, phone still in hand, “when are you free? do you have a day off coming up?”
you blinked, trying to force your brain back into scheduling mode. “uh… friday afternoon? maybe?”
“perfect,” she said, already typing something. “tell her friday. tell her you’re free after lunch. keep it casual. breezy. like you’re not obsessively analyzing every possible outcome of this conversation.”
you shot her a look. “i am obsessively analyzing every possible outcome of this conversation.”
“which is why you need us,” sungchan said with his mouth full of cookie. “we’re here to keep you from imploding.”
your phone buzzed again.
megan skiendiel: i’m free friday after seven. wanna grab coffee? i can send you a spot i like
you didn’t even get a chance to reply before yunjin squealed.
sungchan raised both hands to the sky. “oh my god. it’s happening. it’s actually happening.”
you stared at the message, barely breathing, heart thudding like a drum inside your chest.
coffee. with megan.
you were either about to make a new friend or absolutely ruin your entire life trying.
weirdly… you couldn’t wait to find out which.
__
friday showed up before you were ready for it.
“i feel like a dad on prom night,” sungchan said, flopped across your couch like a man waiting for judgment day. he hugged a pillow to his stomach like it might shield him from the chaos. “except hotter. and younger. and not emotionally repressed.
“you’re eating chips with your shirt inside out,”chaewon deadpanned, looking sungchan up and down judgmentally.. “you look like a walking identity crisis.”
then she turned, peering around the corner into your bedroom.
“y/n, i can’t believe you’re finally going on a date. talk about a breakthrough.”
yunjin sat cross legged on the floor, scrolling through her phone like she wasn’t the one who casually mentioned your date in front of everyone. the very second chaewon heard, she practically chomped at the bit, begging yunjin to bring her along to watch it all unfold. to say your love life was a spectacle among your friends would be an understatement.
“for the record,” you called from your room, still getting ready, “i said no to bringing chaewon.”
“for the record,” chaewon shouted back, “we overruled you. this is a democracy.”
“it’s so not.”
you stepped out, halfway dressed, holding up two completely different tops.
“black or white?”
“ooh,” yunjin said, squinting like she was inspecting a rare museum artifact. “black is hot. white is sweet. depends on the vibe you’re going for.”
“the vibe is ‘i want to look cute but not like i tried too hard because if i think about this too long i will throw myself into traffic’.”
“black,” chaewon and sungchan said in unison.
you sighed and nodded, disappearing back into the room. the air buzzed with the sound of sungchan crunching loudly and chaewon whispering to yunjin like they were spies on a mission.
“lets make a bet. ten dollars says she has a breakdown before she even leaves the house.” chaewon whispered.
“twenty says she embarrasses herself throwing up in megan’s car.” yunjin whispered back.
“guys,” you said, poking your head out again. “i can hear you.”
“we know,” they all said at the same time.
your phone dinged again.
megan skiendiel: on my way. i’ll be at your door in a minute. also, did you know your bellhop likes our music? he almost fainted when he let me up lol
you stared at the message for two full seconds before the others caught the change in your face like wolves spotting weakness. you barely had time to blink before the room exploded.
“oh my god,” sungchan shot up from the couch like someone yelled ‘fire!’. the chip bag in his hands crinkled louder than a car alarm. “was that her? is she outside? do we hide? do we have a code word if things go sideways?”
“wait, she’s coming up here?” chaewon gasped, already rising with a dramatic flair. “this place is a disaster zone!”
“i cleaned for you people,” you hissed, throwing a pointed look at the water bottles on the coffee table and the lone sock draped suspiciously over the lamp.
“yeah, and we immediately undid all of it,” yunjin said, waving a hand at the chaos like it was a museum exhibit. “you’re welcome.”
sungchan grabbed his phone, replacing the cushion he clutched. “this is it. our little baby’s first date.”
“shut up,” you muttered, cheeks heating like you’d just been called out in front of the world. “and put that damn phone down. if i see you take even one photo, i’ll beat your ass. besides, it’s not a date.”
three pairs of eyes locked onto you in unison.
“coffee with the girl you’ve been thinking about nonstop for two weeks,” chaewon said, crossing her arms with the confidence of a daytime talk show host.
“wearing the ‘hot top’, nervous enough to sweat through your socks,” yunjin added, giving you an appraising look.
“with three unpaid emotional support staff waiting at home,” sungchan finished, voice thick with mock solemnity.
your gaze snapped back and forth between the three of them, and you cringed inwardly. okay, they were right. this was definitely a date.
then, knock knock knock.
you froze for a second, heart thudding so loud you were sure they could hear it in the next room. you opened the door, and there she was.
megan stood on the other side like a vision in the hallway light, hair catching the glow just right, a smile that was equal parts warm and mischievous.
behind you, the trio froze mid-move like they’d just been caught doing something they definitely shouldn’t. they exchanged shiteating grins that barely hid how badly they were eavesdropping. yunjin quickly pulled out her phone like she was suddenly very interested in something, but her eyes kept darting toward the door. chaewon leaned against the wall, looking way too relaxed for someone who was clearly dying to say something, and sungchan sprawled on the couch with the kind of lazy cool that screamed i’m totally innocent. when megan’s eyes flicked over to them, they all waved with big, overly casual smiles like innocent bystanders who just happened to be hanging out, except no one was buying it.
but then megan’s eyes locked onto yours and suddenly everything else around you faded into the background. your breath hitched without warning and your brain scrambled like it was trying to process a beautiful glitch in reality.
you’d only ever seen her through a screen before. live streams where she smiled like the sun was just for her, short clips where she moved with effortless grace, and that one quick instagram deep dive you’d done when she messaged you. but now, here she was in real life, and she was something else entirely.
her skin caught the soft light of your penthouse, glowing like it had its own quiet radiance. her eyes were bigger and deeper than you expected, dark and shimmering like they held a secret you wanted to know. the way her hair fell in loose waves around her face softened her sharp cheekbones and made her look both fierce and kind at the same time.
she wasn’t just pretty. she was the kind of stunning that made you forget words and wish you could rewind the moment just to stare a little longer. standing there, frozen with your mouth slightly open, you realized this was the first time you were seeing her. not a filtered version, not a quick snapshot. but the real her. and it was breathtaking.
“hi,” megan said, and the word came out with a lopsided grin that cracked through the tension in your chest like sunlight through a fogged-up window. her voice was warm, lilting, a little too casual for someone who had just walked in looking like a daydream in denim baggy jeans and a bomber jacket. she rocked slightly on her heels and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, like she was fighting the urge to do a small nervous dance.
“hi,” you replied, except it sounded more like a squeak than anything human. your throat betrayed you. of course it did.
then her eyes flicked over your shoulder, and that grin stretched even wider.
“hey guys!” she waved, cheerful like she’d just walked into a party of old friends instead of three people very poorly pretending to mind their own business. “love the casual surveillance vibe you’ve got going on in here.”
“we’re chill,” sungchan said, lounging so awkwardly on the couch he almost slid off it.
“so chill,” chaewon added, nodding solemnly from her place at the wall, where she’d become one with a houseplant.
“this is how we always sit,” yunjin said, phone upside down in her hand, gaze glued directly to megan’s face. “completely normal. zero eavesdropping. you can’t prove otherwise.”
megan let out a laugh, scrunching her nose as she looked back at you. “your friends are amazing.”
“they’re something,” you muttered, grabbing your bag before your legs could decide to walk without you.
“so,” she said, rubbing the back of her neck and bouncing slightly on her toes. “you ready? or do you need a few more minutes to, like, peel them off the furniture?”
you gave a quiet laugh, trying not to show that your hands were already clammy. “nope. ready.”
megan smiled again. softer this time. like she was seeing you for real. “cool. let’s go, then.”
and with that, you stepped out into whatever this was going to be, your heart doing cartwheels the entire way.
‎
truthfully, megan’s car wasn’t what you’d expected. some part of you, the part still convinced the universe had a twisted sense of humor, had pictured something absurd. maybe a crop duster or even the rusty tow truck from cars. something loud. chaotic. entirely un-date-like. instead, it was a sleek black suv. understated but sharp, just like her.
from the passenger seat, you couldn’t help sneaking glances. megan’s focus was fixed on the road, her jaw tense, her hands gripping the wheel like she was bracing for impact.
“you look nervous,” you said, a little too gently.
“o-oh, well. you know.” her voice cracked slightly as she coughed into her shoulder, eyes flicking toward you before immediately darting back to the windshield. she gave you a crooked grin, brief and almost sheepish. “i am. honestly, i feel like i’m going to vomit.”
you laughed before you could help it. light, surprised. “vomit? that’s dramatic.”
“i mean, maybe,” she said, her eyes narrowing playfully for half a second before softening again. “it’s just… i didn’t expect to actually be here. with you. not in a bad way. in a surreal way.”
you felt the flush creep across your cheeks before you even registered it, a warmth that pooled somewhere in your chest. still, you tilted your head toward her, teasing. “i can’t tell if you mean that as a compliment or not.”
megan practically panicked. “no! no, no no, not at all. god, please, that’s the silliest thing i’ve ever heard.” her words came out too fast, tripping over themselves. she shook her head like it would help untangle the knot in her thoughts. “i’m just nervous, okay? i keep overthinking it. like, what if i say something dumb, or do something weird, or—”
her voice dropped slightly, and she added, almost under her breath, “you’re so pretty i can’t think straight.”
then she froze, eyes widening as if realizing she’d said it out loud. her face goes red, a grimace pulling across her lips. she lifts a hand off the wheel to gently facepalm herself, pinching the bridge of her nose between two fingers. “please ignore me. i’m begging,”
you could only watch. you don’t know when the fond grin crossed your lips. when your heart skipped a beat, when her endearing clumsiness had you relaxing in your seat. perhaps knowing that she was just as, if not more, nervous as you made you feel relieved. after a beat, you laughed. soft. her eyes lit up as she glanced at you from her peripheral, the short noise drawing her from her thoughts.
“you’re fine,” you said, quiet but real. “i’ve been looking forward to tonight too.”
“really?”
“yeah. do you think i’d let my friends invade my house all week just for fun? they’ve been insufferable, harassing me all week. i guess i maybe haven’t made it all that secret that i’ve been interested in you for a while.” then you shake your head. “interested in meeting, that is.”
this time it was megan’s turn to crack a stupid grin.
whatever nerves you felt immediately disappeared the longer you talked to each other. truth be told, you were worried whether you’d get along as well as you hoped you would. part of you worried that once you saw each other, it’d be awkward. quiet. instead megan somehow managed to fill the silence with conversation. she asked about your family, about your day, about your friends. in turn you asked about hers.
she laughed at something you said. not even something that funny, really, just a small comment about the gas station snacks you liked. but the way she laughed, like she meant it, like she wasn’t just being polite, made your chest feel lighter. her voice filled the car, soft but certain, and the road hummed under the tires like it was part of the conversation.
you glanced over at her. she was driving with one hand on the wheel, the other resting near the gear shift. her thumb tapped along to the music playing low through the speakers. some indie band neither of you had heard before but had both agreed sounded “pretty good.” it was easy. easier than you expected.
you didn’t have to think too hard before speaking. there was no second guessing. no awkward pauses that made you reach for your phone or pretend to check the map. she asked about the book in your bag and you told her it was something you started three times but never finished. she admitted she did that too, more often than she’d like to admit. you both laughed again.
the sky outside started to shift, the blue softening into a hazy gold. you weren’t sure how long you’d been driving, only that time felt different in the car with her. stretched out. slowed down. kinder.
it didn’t take long for her to park outside a cafe, but neither of you moved to get out. instead, you agreed to order to go. that’s how you ended up here. still in her car, windows slightly cracked, the warm scent of coffee filling the space between you. your drink sat snug in the cupholder, hands curled around it for warmth, and a half-eaten bagel rested in your lap. just outside the windshield, the lights of seoul shimmered across the han river, soft and golden against the night.
she didn’t seem in any rush to leave, and neither were you.
after a long sip of coffee, the next question came out without much thought.
“how long are you in korea for this time?”
“another week, give or take,” she said, eyes flicking to the skyline, like she was already counting down.
“do you miss home?”
“i do. yeah. i miss my car, mostly. it’s my baby. a bmw m3.”
you looked at her, eyebrows raised. “whoever handed you the keys to a sports car must have had a serious lapse in judgment. you drive this suv like you’ve got a personal vendetta against the speed limit.”
she let out a laugh, head tipping back slightly. “what can i say? i like to go fast.”
“sure. until we’re airborne.”
“oh, come on,” she grinned. “you weren’t complaining when you were riding shotgun, all cozy and content, full-on passenger princess mode.”
you rolled your eyes, but your smile gave you away. “i was holding onto the door for dear life.”
“you were vibing,” she said.
“i was surviving,” you shot back, but it was playful, light.
the silence that followed wasn’t awkward. it was the kind that settled easy between two people who’d already found a rhythm.
megan reached for her own cup, nearly knocking over the paper bag between you in the process. the bagel inside gave a sad little flop onto the console. she froze.
“whoops. that was... not smooth.”
you laughed, nudging the bag gently back toward her. “you’re a menace behind the wheel and a danger to pastries. noted.”
she gave you a sheepish smile, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “yeah, i’m really killing it tonight, huh?”
“actually,” you said, voice a little softer, “i’ve had a really nice time.”
she blinked at you, surprised. “yeah?”
you nodded, looking out toward the river before meeting her eyes again. “i was kinda nervous. not because of you, just... sometimes people are different in person. it doesn’t always click.”
megan was quiet for a second, then gave a small, crooked smile. “i was worried about that too. i overthink everything. i even tried to pick a good playlist just in case the conversation died and we needed... filler noise or something.”
you laughed. “is that why i’ve been listening to three hours of sad indie girls?”
“they’re emotionally articulate,” she said, pretending to be offended, but her grin gave her away. “besides, it worked, didn’t it?”
you leaned back against the seat, stretching your legs out a bit. “yeah. it really did.”
the city lights danced in her eyes when she looked at you, soft and a little uncertain, but there was warmth there too. the kind that made the car feel smaller, safer.
“you’re easy to talk to,” she said after a moment, quieter than before.
you smiled, heart tugging just slightly at her honesty. “so are you.”
a comfortable silence settled again, the kind where neither of you felt the need to fill it. the engine ticked softly as it cooled, and in the background, another melancholic song hummed through the speakers.
“i was gonna try and act all chill and collected,” megan said eventually, gaze fixed on the skyline. “but then i fumbled, almost crashed into that curb, and now my bagel is probably in pieces.”
“you’re doing great,” you said, trying not to smile too much. “like, truly elite first impression.”
she turned to face you, eyes bright despite the dim light. “yeah?”
“yeah.”
and just like that, the nerves that had once lingered in the corners of your chest felt like a distant memory.
__
after that night in the car, things shifted. not in a big, dramatic way. no sudden declarations, no fireworks. just small things. steadier things.
your conversations moved from instagram dms to real texts. it felt natural. seamless. one day she asked for your number like it wasn’t a big deal, like she hadn’t already been in your head more than you cared to admit. and you gave it without hesitation, like it wasn’t a risk. like you already knew she’d treat it right.
when she left korea, it was quiet. no big goodbye, no emotional scene. she texted you from the airport, a blurry photo of her and a coffee she swore was going to keep her awake through the flight. from there, the messages kept going. even with the time difference, she found time to talk. random updates. sleepy selfies. voice notes with a little static in the background because she always seemed to be walking somewhere, or in a van, or waiting backstage. sometimes she’d send a song with no context. sometimes just a “this reminded me of you” followed by a meme that made absolutely no sense.
you talked about everything and nothing. the shows she was doing. the tiny hotel rooms she was crashing in. how much she missed sophia’s dog, chanel. how lara had started sleep talking again. how yoonchae had near cried when she had to say goodbye to her parents again when they returned to california.
you told her about your week, the upcoming film you’re wrapping up shooting, your friends, the late-night ramen run that ended in rain and ruined shoes.
some nights, the conversations lasted until one of you fell asleep mid-text. other nights, it was just a good morning or goodnight, quick but never careless.
somehow, she made the space between you feel smaller.
it didn’t take long for others to start noticing your budding friendship, either.
if there was one thing you should know about megan skiendiel, it’s that she’s stubborn. fiercely so. once she feels something, she clings to it with both hands. no disguises, no apologies. she doesn’t know how to be subtle and doesn’t try to be. her heart shows up before she even walks into the room.
and lately, her heart had a habit of mentioning you. probably more than it should have.
the first time was during a casual sit-down with a popular youtuber. the question had been harmless enough.  “did you meet anyone interesting in korea?”
megan didn’t even blink before your name tumbled out of her mouth.
behind her, manon practically doubled over laughing while lara muttered something about “bad timing” and “inside jokes.” the clip went viral within the hour.
eyekons weren’t buying the act. they knew.
especially after that solo live.
‎
megan sank into the couch with a sigh, stretching her legs over the coffee table as she adjusted her phone. It’d been a long day. dance practice ran overtime, vocal lessons left her voice raw, and all she wanted was to collapse into bed. but she had promised her fans a live, and the guilt of leaving them waiting weighed heavily on her.
she brushed  her hair back as the screen flickered to life. a wave of comments flooded in immediately, the chat scrolling too fast to keep up.
she smiled, a familiar warmth settling into her voice. "hi, everyone. It's been a while, huh?"
the dorm was quieter than usual. yoonchae and daniela were still at the studio, finishing up some recording. lara, sophia and manon were off doing who knows what.
megan answered questions between sips of water, laughing as fans teased her. she talked about her love for food, and her habit of getting lost in airports. the conversation was easy, natural. she talked about practice, her favorite songs lately, and the games she'd been playing. it felt comfortable, like a casual late night talk with friends.
then, suddenly, the energy shifted. the comments exploded into chaos. fans were spamming messages faster than she had ever seen before.
"wait, what's happening?" she mumbled, eyes flicking over the chat, trying to make sense of the flood of messages.
then she saw it. a single line of text that had a dumb grin permanently etching itself across her face.
y/n:  have you ate today? you look so cute with those glasses on!
her eyes scanned the screen again just to make sure she hadn’t imagined it. but no. it was still there. your name. your message.
she dropped her hands into her lap and beamed, full teeth, no restraint. her cheeks were already tinged pink, and now they burned. she didn’t care.
“hi, y/n,” she said, voice soft but electric. “you’re really here, huh?”
the chat lost its mind. it was like someone had thrown gasoline on a bonfire. hearts, exclamation marks.
megan didn’t even try to hide it.
“i wasn’t expecting that,” she said, practically bouncing in place now. “like, i thought maybe you’d be busy or… i don’t know, being famous and cool and doing actor things.”
she laughed a short, nervous little burst,  then leaned closer to the screen, like it might bring her to you.
“i did eat, by the way. i wasn’t gonna wear the glasses, but my eyes were tired and they help with the light. but… i’m glad you think they look nice.”
it wasn’t subtle. none of it was subtle.
she was glowing. lit from the inside out with the kind of joy that couldn’t be faked. and even though thousands of fans were watching, even though the chat was an overwhelming blur of reactions and chaos.  for that brief moment, it was like no one else existed. no one but you.
‎
the third, perhaps most notorious time, was two weeks later.
‎
it was meant to be a harmless segment. a fluff piece for some new cosmopolitan youtube show. the kind with silly games and awkward dares and an entire soundboard dedicated to exaggerated gasps. katseye had been invited to promote their upcoming showcase, and the host had them lined up in pairs, facing each other in a game of “who knows who better.”
megan had been paired with sophia, which was dangerous from the start. the two had a history of throwing each other under the bus for the sake of comedy, and neither had a filter to speak of.
“okay, last round,” the host grinned, holding up a cue card. “this one’s just for fun. megan, sophia — name one person your partner talks about way too much.”
“oh no,” sophia said instantly, already grinning like the cat who got the cream.
megan groaned, head falling back dramatically. “don’t do this to me.”
“i have no choice,” sophia replied solemnly. “i’m under oath.”
the buzzer sounded and both girls scribbled their answers down on whiteboards. megan wrote slowly, trying to be clever, trying to think of a joke that would dodge the obvious. but when the timer buzzed again, she sighed and held it up.
so did sophia.
your name. in big, bold letters. twice.
the studio burst into laughter, and the host clutched his chest like he’d just witnessed the reveal of the century.
“wow,” he said, eyes flicking between the two of them. “not even a hesitation.”
“because it’s true,” sophia said, smug. “she’s in her ‘y/n era.’ we’re just living in it.”
megan was pink from ear to ear, trying — and failing — to hide behind her board. “that’s not true. okay, maybe a little true.”
“a little?” manon called from off-camera. “girl, you made us watch one of her movies three nights in a row.”
“it was for the plot,” megan shot back.
“uh-huh,” daniela deadpanned. “plot named y/n.”
the clip made the rounds before the show even finished airing. fancams popped up with captions like “megan being the president of y/n’s fan club for six minutes straight” and the internet did what it does best. spiral.
‎
through it all, megan didn’t deny a thing.
she couldn’t. not when her whole face lit up like a summer skyline every time your name came up. not when her bandmates had stopped teasing and started treating your existence as something inevitable, like the rising sun or the way manon always stole everyone’s chargers.
by then, you weren’t just someone she mentioned.
in an industry known for silence, for secrecy and statements about “valuing privacy,” hybe was practically rolling out a red carpet. in korea, relationships in the spotlight were often treated like scandals waiting to happen. but the western fans? they were eating it up. every clipped interview, every suspiciously timed instagram like, every passing mention of your name on a live. it was all free press, and hybe knew it.
so they leaned in. quietly, strategically. no denials. no damage control. just subtle nudges that said, yeah, keep watching.
and it was driving her crazy.
__
you weren’t exactly sure when it happened. when the feeling settled in your chest and decided to stay. maybe it had been there all along, hiding underneath the comfort of familiarity and the ease of your friendship. or maybe it grew slowly, in the quiet moments you never thought to mark.
it could’ve been during the weeks she was gone, promoting outside of korea. the distance was supposed to make things simpler. safer. but instead, it just made her absence louder. knowing you were still the first person she messaged in the morning and the last one she talked to before sleep made your chest ache in a way you didn’t have a name for yet.
or maybe it was that one night, the one where you called her just to vent about a costar who had spent the entire day getting under your skin. you were halfway through a breathless rant when you noticed it. the way she was watching you through the screen. how she wasn’t just nodding politely or checking her phone or letting her attention drift. she was listening. really listening. her eyes softened when you got frustrated, lit up when you said something funny. when your voice cracked just a little from tiredness, she didn’t interrupt. she just stayed with you. present and still. like holding space for you was the most natural thing in the world.
and somewhere in all of that, it hit you.
you were in love with megan skiendiel. painfully. undeniably. fully.
at first, you were terrified. quietly, achingly scared. because what were you supposed to do with a feeling like this? loving megan had crept up on you, soft and slow, the way a sunset slips past the horizon before you even realize it’s gone. and now that it was here, fully formed and impossible to ignore, you didn’t know how to carry it.
megan had become a constant. someone who felt less like a friend and more like a fixture. someone you could turn to at any hour, knowing she’d listen without judgment, laugh at your bad jokes, sit in silence if that’s what you needed. she never made you feel like too much or not enough. she just saw you. and the last thing you wanted was to ruin something that good with feelings you didn’t know how to manage.
so you kept it quiet. buried it under casual texts and late-night calls. told yourself it wasn’t the right time. told yourself maybe it didn’t need to be said at all.
but then the girls were coming back to korea. six months had passed since their last visit, and the moment megan found out they’d be landing soon, she called you. not texted. not waited. called.
you’d picked up on the first ring.
and now, you were standing at your front door, fingers still curled around the handle, staring at the very girl who had been living rent-free in your head for months.
before you could even speak, megan threw her arms around you. the force of it almost knocked you back a step. her dark brown hair smelled like travel and lavender shampoo and something unmistakably her. she held you like she’d been counting down the days to this moment. like she’d been holding her breath all the way across oceans and could finally breathe again now that she was here.
her arms were warm and tight around you, her face tucked into the crook of your neck. for a few seconds, neither of you said anything. and for the first time in weeks, your heart didn’t feel so loud.
“you smell different,” megan mumbled, voice muffled against your shoulder.
you blinked, startled. “um. thanks?”
she pulled back just enough to look at you, her hands still resting on your waist. “not bad different. just… like laundry detergent and success.”
you snorted. “you’ve been on korean air for fifteen hours and that’s what you open with?”
“i missed you too,” she said, and there was no hesitation in it. no theatrics. just honesty, plain and easy, like it was the most natural thing in the world to say.
you felt the corners of your mouth twitch, trying hard not to smile like a complete idiot. “i figured. what with the fifteen missed calls.”
“okay, first of all,” she said, stepping fully into the apartment now, shrugging off her jacket, “ten of those were because i forgot the time difference and thought you were ghosting me.”
“you forgot the time difference?” you repeated, crossing your arms with a skeptical look.
megan turned around, eyes wide and unconvincing. “yes?”
you stared.
she caved. “no. i panicked. sue me.”
you closed the door behind her, shaking your head. “you’re ridiculous.”
“you like it,” she said without missing a beat, flopping dramatically onto your couch.
you didn’t deny it. instead, you walked over and stood behind the couch, arms draped loosely over the back as you looked down at her.
“so what’s the plan now that you’re back?” you asked.
megan grinned, tossing her head back to look up at you. “coffee. your favorite ramen place. a movie i’ll definitely talk through. and if you’re really lucky, maybe i’ll even let you win at mario kart.”
“bold of you to assume you’d be letting me win,” you said.
“bold of you to think you could beat me,” she fired back, eyes sparkling.
you met her gaze, heart stuttering, voice softer now. “i’m really glad you’re here.”
her grin faltered just a bit, and something gentler settled into her expression. “me too,” she said. “more than you know.”
for a moment you just stared at her, the moment truly settling in. you really did miss her. texting and phone calls were one thing, but seeing her in person was another. her goofy smile, the way she locked in like she didn’t just drop the funniest bomb known to mankind, the way she laughed as if she didn’t care who was watching. she was just one girl and yet, she consumed the space so beautifully without even knowing.
you almost did it then. almost opened your mouth and let the words tumble out. but you didn’t. instead you settled on a small smile.
you were about to ask megan if she wanted water when your phone buzzed against the counter. you didn’t need to look to know who it was. you’d spent the entire night before (and entire day honestly) lighting up your text chain with yunjin. sure enough, when you unlocked your screen and peered down, there she was.
yunjin [7:13pm]: is she there yet or did she ghost you after all that build-up
yunjin [7:13pm]: respond right now or else i’ll think you confessed and blacked out from emotional overload.
you rolled your eyes and typed back quickly with one hand while grabbing two glasses with the other.
you [7:14pm]: she’s here. no blackouts. yet.
yunjin [7:14pm]: yet???  i’m counting the minutes. btw u should ask her to come to the party tn. i think sungchan wanted to introduce u to someone too, so ur contractually obligated to show up.
the idea of sungchan wanting to introduce you to someone made your blood run cold. the last time that happened, you ended up stuck in a corner with shindong rambling about crypto, diet tips, and the “glory days” of SM for thirty painfully long minutes.
still, you swallowed the groan bubbling up in your throat and slipped your phone into your pocket before yunjin could fire off something even more unhinged. when you turned back toward the living room, megan had curled herself sideways into the couch, one leg dangling off the edge, her head tilted back like she was trying to make sense of the ceiling tiles.
“was that yunjin?” she asked, grinning like she already knew the answer.
“unfortunately.”
“what’d she say? wait, don’t tell me. something dramatic, slightly invasive, and definitely teasing.”
you handed her a glass of water with a dry look. “spot on. she wants to know if you’re real or just a figment of my imagination.”
megan raised an eyebrow. “and what did you tell her?”
“that you’re here.” you smirked. “look at miss nosey over here.”
she raised both hands in mock surrender, barely hiding her smile. “hey, what can I say? i’m working on a phd for not being able to mind my own damn business.”
you laughed, shaking your head. the kind of laugh that came easily around her. and then, remembering the rest of yunjin’s message, you leaned your weight against the back of the couch, fingers tapping idly on the cushions.
“she’s throwing a party tonight,” you said. “something about celebrating a new album drop. you should come. bring the girls.”
megan sat up a little straighter, sipping her water with the kind of dramatic flair that made you snort. “a party? are there going to be snacks?”
“probably.”
“alright, i’m in. but only if there are snacks and minimal small talk. and maybe karaoke.”
“so you want snacks, bad lighting, and a mic. noted.”
“see, you get me.” she beamed, already reaching for her phone. “i’ll text the girls. we’ll make it a proper entrance.”
you rolled your eyes, but the smile tugging at your lips betrayed you. your heart was too full for your own good. “god help us all.”
__
the drive over was chaotic in the way only megan’s presence could make it. she’d managed to wrangle sophia and daniela into coming, predictably the two most likely to say yes to the word “party” before even hearing the rest of the sentence. manon and lara had tapped out almost immediately. yoonchae hadn’t even bothered pretending she was considering it.
megan drove, one hand lazily on the wheel, the other dancing over the radio dial every five seconds. you sat in the front passenger seat, watching her in the glow of passing streetlights.
sophia leaned forward from the back. “so, y/n,” she started, voice thick with mischief, “how’s it feel being megan’s favorite girl?”
“sophia,” megan warned without looking away from the road.
daniela snorted, flinging a gummy at the back of megan’s head. “what? it’s true. we’ve heard more about y/n in the last six months than we have about anyone else.” then she turned to you, leaning forward besides sophia. “i was starting to think she made you up.”
“my god, you guys are worse than lara and manon.” megan muttered, tightening her grip on the steering wheel. she glanced at you, caught the smile playing on your lips, and groaned. “you’re both so annoying.”
“say you love her and we’ll shut up,” daniela sang from the backseat.
“i will crash this car,” megan said flatly, but her ears were pink.
you turned in your seat, raising an eyebrow at the two girls behind you. “this what you do on every drive?”
“only when the company’s good,” sophia grinned.
by the time you walked up to the le sserafim dorm, the music could already be heard before you even reached the front door. the air outside buzzed with voices and laughter.
you barely had time to step over the threshold before you heard it.
“there she is!”
yunjin materialized out of the crowd like she owned the place. which, sure, she basically did. it was her party afterall.  she practically skipped the last few steps toward you. before you could get a word in, she grabbed your hand, pulled you into a hug that was half tackle, half dance spin, and leaned back to look you over. “hi, hello, love you, you look disgustingly hot—don’t even try to run, i’ve got plans for us tonight.”
you barely had time to laugh before she clocked the girls behind you. “megan!” she called, eyes lighting up as she pulled you into the house. “and you brought the fun ones! hi, sophia. hi, daniela.”
“you act like we don’t always show up,” sophia said with a grin, accepting the hug yunjin offered.
“it’s not a real party unless daniela’s threatening to outdrink everyone,” yunjin replied.
“not a threat if it’s true,” daniela said, winking.
megan held up her hands in mock surrender. “i told them to behave.”
“why would you do that?” yunjin laughed. “no, i want full chaos tonight. come find me later, i’m kidnapping y/n for a minute.”
you looked back at megan just as yunjin tugged you into the crowd, her hand firm in yours. megan simply grinned, the light catching her face just enough to make your heart skip.
and then the music swallowed you whole.
some part of you couldn’t help but feel a little bit annoyed. truth be told, you’d have rathered been home with megan. caught up on lost time and put on a movie. maybe stepbrothers, because you know it’s one of her favorites from one of your many late night conversations.
instead, you were here. loud music, dim lights, and the kind of packed crowd that made it hard to think. it wasn’t awful. yunjin’s parties never were. her friends were warm and welcoming, even if chaewon had greeted you with a smug “so where’s megan?” the second you walked in. but still, your eyes kept drifting.
you caught sight of her across the room, laughing at something sophia said, a hand tucked into the pocket of her baggy jeans. daniela was already halfway into a dance battle with some guy in a bucket hat. megan wasn’t doing anything extraordinary. she was just… being. but somehow, that was enough to pull your gaze every time.
you tried to focus on the conversation happening around you. tried to lean into the easy rhythm of old friends and new music. but your mind had already wandered. back to the idea of megan beside you on the couch. back to her laugh. back to the quiet. back to her. always her.
eventually you took a step back when the cup yunjin shoved into your hands was getting empty.
“gonna get a refill.” you shouted lamely over the music. you didn’t wait for her to respond before you were stalking your way to the kitchen.
it was in that space you were able to truly look around. you didn’t miss the curious glances shot your way, no, that would’ve been impossible. it felt incredibly vain to acknowledge that you were an idols idol, but you knew.
you were halfway refilling your cup with some kind of soju concoction when a voice cut through the air.
“y/n!”
you looked up and immediately locked eyes with a familiar pair of browns. a tall, handsome figure weaved through the crowd toward you, his shaggy brown hair falling into his eyes just enough to make him look like he hadn’t planned a single part of his night. sungchan grinned, all coy charm and childish mischief. you groaned the second he pulled you into a rough side hug, the unmistakable scent of alcohol clinging to his clothes like cologne. still, your arms came up automatically, returning the hug without a second thought. for all his nonsense, sungchan had always been a good friend.
“i want to introduce you to someone.”
you turned just as sungchan stepped aside, and there she was. karina.
you had never met her in person before, but you might as well have. her face was everywhere. it lit up across high-rise billboards in gangnam, looping through luxury brand ads on the subway monitors, popping up on your explore page whenever you so much as breathed near the fashion or idol tag. you remembered the way jaewook had bragged about her back on set a year ago when the dispatch article dropped. he had shown his phone to his costar like it was breaking news, grinning like he had just won something. you had rolled your eyes, walked off to get coffee, and told yourself it wasn’t your business. it wasn’t, until now.
karina was even more stunning in person. her beauty wasn’t the kind that made a scene or demanded attention. it just existed, like it belonged there. her gaze met yours and stayed, unwavering.
it wasn’t rude, or even intense in a threatening way. just… focused. present. like she wasn’t just seeing you but actually registering you.
you were suddenly very aware of your posture, your hands, your everything.
“it’s so nice to meet you!” she called over the music, her voice warm and clear even with the bass thudding through the walls. she stepped just a little closer, enough that you could hear her without leaning in. “i love your stuff. seriously. i’ve been asking sungchan to introduce us for ages, but he’s always chickened out at the last second.”
sungchan made a wounded noise, hand over his chest like she’d just stabbed him, but before he could fire back, wonbin came stumbling past, arm slung around his neck with all the grace of a wrecking ball. they disappeared into the crowd in a tangle of laughter and chaos.
you rolled your eyes and turned back to karina, only to find that her gaze hadn’t left you once. her eyes held yours with that same calm, curious steadiness, like she wasn’t in a packed party but somewhere quieter. somewhere smaller.
you offered a small smile. “likewise. though to be fair, i think he just gets intimidated around pretty girls.”
her lips curved. “pretty, huh?”
you blinked, brain catching up three seconds too late. “oh god, sorry. i don’t know why i said that. yunjin handed me a cup earlier and i don’t even know what was in it. she could’ve poisoned me for all i know.”
karina laughed, the sound easy and low. “knowing her, it’s probably something criminal. you’ll wake up with a hangover and a new life philosophy.”
you laughed too, but it faltered slightly when she leaned in, just enough for her shoulder to brush against yours. it was nothing, a light touch, but it grounded you instantly.
“don’t worry,” she said, voice softer now, “i think you’re pretty too.”
your heart stuttered.
you opened your mouth, but whatever you meant to say vanished the second her smile deepened.
“not to be dramatic or anything,” karina said, lifting her cup for a slow, nonchalant sip, “but i think we’re being watched.”
you blinked. “watched?”
“mhm. i can feel her eyes burning holes into the back of my head. like a laser pointer. i’m actually a little afraid to turn around.”
you tilted your head, letting your eyes scan the room until you found her. megan, standing across the floor. at some point sophia had shoved her cup into megan’s hands and joined daniela on the dance floor. the chinese girl clutched the cup in both hands like it might leap out of them if she didn’t keep a death grip on it. her expression was neutral, but her stare? not subtle.
you cleared your throat. “who, megan? no, no, she’s—”
“look at the way she’s holding that cup,” karina cut in, a grin already pulling at her lips. “you’d think she just watched the most annoying man on earth walk in and ruin everyone’s mood.”
you huffed. “reminds me of a certain six-foot-something actor with a god complex.”
karina snorted, her eyes flashing with recognition before she laughed for real this time, head tipping back for just a second. she knew who you were talking about almost immediately. the one man you had in common besides sungchan happened to be her very tall (very annoying) ex.
“right. i forgot you know jaewook.”
you raised an eyebrow. “unfortunately.”
“hey,” she said, still grinning. “he’s not that bad. underneath all the bravado he’s actually kind of sweet.”
“sure, you don’t need to convince me.”  you shrugged, completely deadpan. “if the dick’s bomb, it’s bomb.”
karina choked, hand flying to your shoulder as she doubled over in disbelief. she was laughing harder than before, and you felt a little thrill run down your spine at the sound of it.
when she straightened up again, she wiped at her eye and shook her head. “you’re going to wake up tomorrow and regret ever opening your mouth.”
“without a doubt,” you said, already sipping to forget.
“i think i want some of what you’re having,” karina said, eyes glittering with mischief as she swirled the liquid in her cup. “it’s my cue to go find the woman of the hour. but before i do…”
she leaned in, slower this time. you thought she was going to say something else right away, but then her mouth dipped lower, her breath warm as it ghosted the curve of your jaw. you stiffened in surprise, the proximity making your pulse stumble. her lips came dangerously close to your ear, just barely brushing your skin when she spoke.
“that girl. megan.” her voice dropped to something sly and sweet. “she wants you. it’s written all over her face. she hasn’t stopped staring since i walked over. so how about you use some of that liquid courage and do something about it?”
your breath caught, cheeks burning with the kind of heat no drink could explain. karina pulled away just as slowly, and her smile was soft but wicked. it said a hundred things at once.
i’m glad we met, good luck out there, don’t screw this up.
then she was gone, slipping into the crowd like she had always belonged to it. her red solo cup bobbed above the sea of people as she drifted toward the corner where yunjin and chaewon were doubled over in laughter.
you didn’t even have time to process it before someone else stepped into her place.
megan.
her arm brushed yours, then stayed there, her hand wrapping gently around the bend of your elbow. she was close. so close. close enough that you could smell the perfume on her skin,  something cool and soft, mint layered with warm vanilla. it hit you all at once that it was yours. a bottle that had disappeared from your vanity six months ago before katseye left korea. and now here it was, clinging to her in the most dizzying way.
your body flushed with heat that had nothing to do with the music or the alcohol. your eyes traveled up, taking in the sheen of sweat along her collarbones and the way her skin glowed under the lights. her crop top clung to her in all the right places, her stomach taut from dancing. you could still see the echo of her movement in the way her breath rose and fell, chest barely brushing yours.
you finally looked at her face again. she was already staring.
her eyes were darker than you remembered, shadowed and unreadable, fixed on you with something that felt like pressure and want and restraint all tangled up into one look. her lips were drawn in a line, neither smiling nor frowning, but firm with intent.
the air between you thinned.
you weren’t sure who would speak first. or if either of you had to. not with the way the tension folded in and around you like the bass from the speakers. not with the way her fingers curled just slightly against your arm, like she wasn’t ready to let go.
“oh. hey. you doing okay?” you asked, voice raised slightly over the music pulsing around you.
megan didn’t answer right away. her eyes stayed locked on yours for a beat too long, and just when you thought she might finally say something, her gaze dropped. slow and deliberate. it traced the line of your jaw and landed just beneath your ear. her expression shifted. something flickered across her face, subtle but sharp. a furrow of her brow that sent a wave of nerves crashing down your spine.
before you could speak again, she brought her thumb to her lips and wet it. then, without hesitation, she reached forward and pressed that same thumb to your neck. her touch was warm, careful. a soft swipe against your skin.
your breath caught.
“she left lipstick on you,” she murmured, quiet but clear enough to cut through the noise.
your hand shot up on instinct, palm flattening over the spot just beneath your ear. you could feel the heat rising to your cheeks, blood rushing too fast under your skin.
“o-oh. yeah. was an accident,” you stammered, the words clumsy as they left your mouth.
megan didn’t respond right away. she just hummed.  low, unreadable. then her hand slid down from your elbow, fingers grazing your forearm like she couldn’t quite decide if she wanted to hold on or let go. eventually she settled, her grip tightening just enough that you felt the weight of it. like an anchor. like a warning. like something unspoken passing between the two of you that neither of you had the guts to name.
not yet, anyway.
for a long second, she just stood there, saying nothing. she didn’t blink, didn’t move. only stared.
you shifted on your feet. “did… did i do something wrong?”
her voice was steady, but low. “let me drive you home.”
you blinked. “oh. okay.” it came out softer than you meant, a whisper carried easily between you. she heard it all the same.
‎
you weren’t sure how much time passed between then and now. one moment you were alone in the kitchen of yunjin’s dorm, the next megan was muttering something to sophia and daniela under her breath,  a rushed string of syllables that made them blink once, twice, and nod. she grabbed your hand without waiting for an answer and pulled you toward the door. you felt the weight of every pair of eyes that followed you on your way out. yunjin’s brow arched with thinly veiled amusement. sungchan mouthed something that looked suspiciously like “what did you do.” and karina… she didn’t say a word. she just winked.
now you were in the passenger seat of megan’s car, the inside dim and quiet save for the faint hum of the engine and the soft patter of rain beginning to hit the windshield. your buzz had all but faded, replaced by something heavier, something laced with nerves. megan’s hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles had gone pale. the jaw that was so often relaxed with laughter and teasing was now set and stiff.
you turned to face her fully. megan. what’s going on with you?”
she didn’t look at you. her gaze stayed fixed on the road ahead as if it held all the answers she couldn’t bring herself to say aloud.
“when did you and karina get so close?” she asked, too casual to be convincing.
you tilted your head, eyes narrowing. “are you jealous?”
there was a beat of silence. then she scoffed.
“no!…. yes. fuck, y/n, i don’t know. i don’t know what i feel. all i know is that seeing her in your space like that just— it just drives me crazy.”
the car hummed beneath you, megan’s hands gripping the wheel like she was holding onto something more fragile than the leather beneath her fingers. she floored it the moment she pulled onto the main road. fast, reckless as always. the first time you rode passenger princess in her car, you practically grabbed onto the seat for dear life. except tonight, you didn’t even mind. you couldn’t look away. her jaw clenched tight, the faint pulse at her temple a rhythm you felt in your own chest.
the car sped down the dimly lit road of your penthouse’s underground parking, tires echoing against concrete walls. megan didn’t slow until she pulled into a quiet corner, the only sound the engine’s low hum. just the two of you now.
her jaw was tight, eyes sharp. “karina,” she spat, voice low and rough. “she was all in your space like she owns it.”
you met her glare, feeling the heat rising between you. “megan, i just met her.”
her hand clenched the steering wheel so hard her knuckles went white.
“yeah, well, she sure didn’t act like it,” megan bit out. “in your ear, touching your arm like you’ve been hers for years. you think i didn’t see the way she looked at you?”
you blinked at her, pulse quickening. “why does it even matter?”
megan turned to you then, full body, her eyes blazing. “because it does. because you’re not just some friend i joke around with anymore, y/n.”
the silence that followed was thick, pressing. you stared at her, at the curve of her jaw clenched in frustration, at the way her chest rose and fell like she’d just run a sprint. her brows were furrowed, but beneath the frustration was something else. something that made your stomach twist and your fingers curl tight around your seatbelt.
“megan…”
she exhaled hard, dropping her head back against the headrest for a second like she was trying to force the words out. then her voice came, rough and low. “i can’t stand seeing someone else touch you like that. it makes me feel like i’m gonna lose my mind.”
you reached out, hand hovering before it found hers on the console between you. her fingers twitched under yours, like she was deciding whether to pull away or pull you closer.
“you’re not gonna lose your mind,” you said quietly. “you’re just finally saying what we’ve both been thinking.”
she didn’t reply. didn’t need to. you swallowed, heart hammering. this wasn’t the easy conversation you’d expected. it was raw, jagged, real. her eyes locked onto yours, wild and fierce. for a moment, you could almost feel the weight of everything she hadn’t said hanging between you.
without warning, she leaned in, closing the space with a fierce urgency. her lips crashed against yours, rough and demanding, like she needed to prove something. your breath hitched, caught off guard but all in.
it was messy, desperate, the kind of kiss that didn’t ask for permission. your hands found her hair, pulling her closer. she growled low, the tension snapping as the lines between friends and something more shattered.
it was a blur after that. megan barely killed the engine before the two of you were out of the car, walking fast and too close as you made your way through the quiet underground garage. her hand hovered at your back, not quite touching, but you could feel the heat of it through your shirt. the elevator ride was silent, charged, her reflection burning holes into yours through the metal walls.
the second your door swung open, you were on her again. the lock clicked behind you as you pressed her up against the door, mouths crashing together like you’d both run out of time. your hands slipped under the hem of her shirt, greedy for skin. she kissed you like she needed you to breathe.
“y/n,” she breathed out, but whatever she was going to say got lost in the next kiss, your name drowned out by the low thud of her back hitting the hallway wall.
you didn’t even think, just grabbed her wrist and tugged her toward the bedroom, feet stumbling, laughter breaking through the tension for a split second. she followed without hesitation, eyes locked on you like she was trying to memorize the way you looked at her now.
as soon as you hit the threshold of the room, your mouths found each other again. she kicked the door shut behind her without looking, hands already tugging at the hem of your shirt like she’d waited too long for this.
she pulled away after a moment to simply stare.
megan looked at you. the kind of stare that could melt ice. her gaze traces the lines of your body like she was hungry, yet still she said nothing. she swallowed, her lips pursing together as she weighed her own thoughts in her mind. her eyes trailed up and down before finally they settle themselves again on yours. it didn’t take a rocket scientist to know what she was thinking in this very moment. you could practically read her through her silence. the way she practically itched to say something funny, to break the tension with a lighthearted joke in true megan fashion. but she couldn’t. her body was reacting as much as yours was. she trembled slightly, her chest rising up and down as if she was struggling to take in air. but it was pure anticipation. when she talks her voice is careful, hesitant, like she was afraid that one wrong word would break the quiet you slipped into.
“how do i tell you that i want you without making a fool of myself?”
your breath hitched when suddenly she moved. she took a step closer, and instinctively you take a step back. the backs of your knees hit the edge of the bed and you’re falling back. the only thing you can do is sit stupidly and stare up at her as she stares down. she was already tall, but now she loomed over you.
she was so unlike herself. just ten minutes ago she was fumbling over her own feet, giggling between kisses as her fingers clumsily trailed up and down the warm skin on your back. now, she was confident. like she was looking at you through the lens of someone who realized in the span of a quick ten minutes that they were standing before something holy.
you hum. “you say it. tell me, megan.”
she doesn’t hesitate. she nudges your legs apart so she’s standing between them now, your legs trapping her in. her hands instinctively raise to the back of your head, one idly playing with the baby hairs on the nape of your neck while the other gently grabbed your chin. she didn’t ask, just simply gripped your chin between her thumb and index finger and tugged. she leaned down slightly , so close that you could feel her hot breath hitting you. when she talks, her voice is quiet.
“i want you, y/n.”
she moved one inch closer, and her lips brush yours. it was faint. a feather light touch, but it sent shivers down your spine all the same. her eyes dropped back and forth between your eyes and your lips, the grip she had on your chin tightening momentarily before she let go. her hand lazily drifted down from your face and to your chest, fingertips just lightly grazing your skin. and then, she moved the other hand. the hand that once played with the hairs on the back of your neck now moved to the front, fingertips dancing along your throat. she hums. her voice dripped like venom, tantalizing and dangerous all in the same breath.
“you have no idea how bad.”
you swallow, and megan feels it against the hand she held to your neck when her fingers gently reach out and clasp. nothing tight. but she doesn’t say anything. she simply stares. her eyes dark, her face unreadable save for only the pure want clear in her words. through the grip on your throat, you reply. your voice fell to a whisper, though just as confident as her own.
“then show me.”
she didn’t need to be told twice. the grip she held on your neck tightened just slightly before she relented. her lips which once grazed yours finally surged the small distance. she kissed you, every emotion she pushed to the back of her mind finally coming out in full force. she tilted her head, a soft sigh of relief escaping her when you met her kiss with equal fervor.
this was it. the moment where finally, she’d let herself cave. the moment where megan would lose her inhibitions and finally be true to both herself, and to you. being so close to you in this moment made her full body vibrate. you were intoxicating, and she was addicted.
megan deepened the kiss, her tongue gently swiping across your bottom lip. when you don’t open your mouth, she bites your lip. taking advantage of the gasp you let out, her tongue darts in. without words, her intentions were clearer than daylight.
she wanted you, and she wanted bad.
the grip on your neck only tightened until eventually you needed to pull back for air. a string of saliva coated your lips when she pulled back, her grip on your throat relaxing. but she doesn’t mind. she lets you breathe, feels your chest rise and fall beneath her full hand as she trails open mouthed kisses down from your swollen lips to your jaw, and then your neck. she littered kisses around the area her hand clasped around only moments ago, soothing the dull feeling of a phantom grip.
through your haze and a short gasp, you couldn’t help but tease her.
“who knew you had that in you, huh, skiendiel?”
megan answered with a simple bite to your neck. a nibble, soothed over with a faint swipe of her tongue immediately after. it was enough to shut you up, if even for a moment. she hummed.
“can’t help myself. you’ve no idea how long i’ve been waiting for this.”
this time it was your turn to raise a hand and gently play with her hair, her mouth still working at your jaw and throat. you sigh, your fingers clasping around a clump of her dark hair. you shake your head.
“what, are you trying to tell me this is the only reason you asked for my number all those months ago?”
she knew you were joking, that you were being facetious. still she couldn’t help but frown. she dropped fully to her knees now between your legs, still fully trapped by your legs on either side of her. from this angle as she pulled away from your neck, she looked up at you through her sleepy eyes and pink bangs.
“maybe this part was wishful thinking. but no, not the only reason.” her hands trailed down again, finding your skin beneath your shirt. her hands were so numbingly cold despite the warmth in her gaze. her hand pressed against your lower stomach, feeling the way your abdomen clenched slightly against her cold palm. she looked at you with her half lidded eyes and all you saw was sincerity. she continues.
“you’ve no idea how hard it is to keep my hands to myself when you’re you. but fuck, look at you now.” her other hand reaches for the hem of your shirt and now she tugs, her touch gentle despite the bite in her words when she says her next words. “you’re mine, baby.”
the words set something off in you. something that lit a fire in the deepest pits of your stomach, begging to be addressed. and megan knew it.
and so, she did.
__
you weren’t sure at what point you fell asleep. all you knew was that when you woke up, you were in your own bed. the blankets were pulled up beneath your chin but it wasn’t their warmth that clung to you like it was moulded for your body, and yours only.
your eyes trailed over to the sleeping girl besides you. megan’s arm wrapped around your torso, holding you close. her bare body pressed against yours had a chill running down your spine. you could already feel the hickeys forming on your neck, the bruises on your thighs. you could feel the phantom feeling of her nails scratching down your back and her coaxing whispers lingering in your ears.
megan had practically transformed into a completely different person. the memory of her eyes, dark and dangerous, had you inadvertently shifting closer to her. the slight movement was enough to wake her. a deep, sleepy groan pulled from her lips as she subconsciously nuzzled herself closer into you. when her eyes fluttered open and they landed on you, the difference was night and day.
she was nervous. shy. she practically hid her face in your neck only to turn red in embarrassment when she was met face to face with the marks she left on your throat. when she speaks her voice is low, awkward.
“i-i, uh, you know. i’m so sorry. too much? probably. oops.”
despite the situation, you couldn’t help but laugh. the sound alone made her groan, her head digging even deeper into you as if the action alone would hide her from your teasing. a classic ‘if i can’t see you, you can’t see me’ kind of thing.
“it’s okay, megan.”
she looked up at that, her cheeks still flushed red. but there was no mistaking the way her shoulders relaxed. she looked back at you and it’s then the events from the night before seemed to finally settle in. it’s in this lighting that you realized, again, just how gorgeous she is. the way her hair framed her face even when she was ridden with bedhead. the way her soft lips pouted involuntarily, the way her sleepy eyes looked up at you through her lashes. she was so, unbelievably beautiful without even needing to try. you couldn't help but wonder if she knew this as well as you could see it.
with a newfound sense of confidence, she suddenly leaned forward. her lips found yours and unlike the fit of messy kisses she gave you the night before, now she takes her time.  when she pulls away, pink dusts her cheeks.
“i can’t believe we did… that.”
you raise a brow. “oh? pray tell why you’re so surprised.”
megan’s eyes practically blow wide. “seriously? you’re not even the slightest bit shocked and overwhelmed and- a-and, i don’t know, lowkey kinda freaking the fuck out? i mean jeez. you’re you!”
before you can reply she’s already continuing. her arm around your torso tightens, a look of pure shock and elation cemented across her face.
“do you have any idea how scared it makes me knowing that you’re practically in a league of your own? i mean, shit, you walk into a room and everyone stares. i walk in and everyone waits for me to break my own leg! you’re you. and i’m me. and this just doesn’t make any sense, a-and-“
you turn slightly so you’re facing her fully, her arm around you not slipping but loosening just enough. you shake your head, a hand reaching up gently to swipe her hair from her vision. her pink bangs covered her eyes just slightly, hiding the state of pure frazzle in their depths. you can’t help but chuckle softly.
when your lips tilt up at the corners, a small grin gracing your face, megan stopped rambling. she was so, completely, irrevocably enamored by you in a way that it hurt her brain.
when you leaned forward just enough to seal her lips with your own, her breath catches in her throat, silenced. for a moment you both lay there. her arm around your torso now moving to lightly grip your waist, her fingers digging in just barely as if she was grounding herself in the moment. your hand cupped her jaw, the kiss deepening just a second longer. when you pull away, her eyes are blown wide. she stares back at you in equal parts awe, and fear. she was completely undone by you.
“relax.”
the simple word was all she needed. she nodded her head stupidly and obediently, her lips pursing so tight together as if you’d given her a command she’d follow til her last breath.
your grin softens into a small smile. “you’re such a loser, megan.”
megan grimaced. the kind of look that was half part an awkward smile, and half part an embarrassment pout.  she burrows her head into your chest with a drawn out groan. she feels the way your body vibrates when you chuckle, hears the way your heart skipped a beat with her ear pressed to your bare chest. and in that moment, she decided.
no amount of embarrassment would ever outweigh the pride she felt in knowing that it was her you were holding that very morning.
__
a month passed.
megan hadn’t planned on going live. it was one of those quiet nights that felt heavier than it should have. the dorm was calm. daniela had vanished into her room with a face mask and a bowl of cereal. sophia had crashed early. the silence made everything feel louder.
so she pulled on an oversized hoodie (your hoodie) and went live from her bed. nothing fancy. just her and her phone, legs tucked under her, the soft yellow light from her nightstand casting a warm glow across the screen.
“hi,” she said, voice soft with that slight rasp it always had when she was winding down. “i couldn’t sleep.”
the chat exploded immediately. hearts, greetings, inside jokes, fans asking about everything from what she had for dinner to her favorite stage outfit from the last comeback. she answered a few, laughed quietly when someone asked if lara still sleep-talked. her fingers toyed absentmindedly with the sleeve of her hoodie as she scrolled.
“what’s the weirdest dream you’ve had recently?” she read aloud, smiling. “okay, so i had this one where i was back in high school, but for some reason all the desks were made of jello, and sophia was my teacher? yeah, no idea. my brain is a strange place.”
another wave of hearts. more laughing emojis. the mood stayed easy, casual, soft around the edges.
then came the question. fast, buried in a sea of others, but megan’s eyes caught it and held.
“who’s that in the background?”
she blinked.
then turned, just slightly, to glance behind her.
there, on the edge of the bed, barely in frame, was you. hoodie half-zipped, face makeup-free, curled against a pillow and blinking slow from the comfort of just having woken up from a nap you hadn’t even meant to take.
megan looked back at the camera, lips tugging into a smile that was both shy and completely unbothered.
“guess the secret’s out,” she said, voice low but steady.
the chat exploded again, this time in full-blown chaos. some fans caught on immediately. others were in denial. a few begged her to clarify, but she didn’t.
instead, she leaned back against the headboard, reached over, and laced her fingers with yours. you blinked blearily, took a second to realize what was happening, then gave a soft laugh.
“hi,” you murmured, just loud enough to be heard. “sorry, i kind of knocked out.”
“it’s okay,” megan said, thumb brushing against the back of your hand. “you’re cute when you sleep.”
the live didn’t last much longer after that. she answered one or two more questions, gave the usual love you guys and get some rest, then signed off.
but the clip stayed. it spread fast, faster than either of you expected. screen recordings, gifs, screenshots, fan theories shifting into confirmed realities. by morning, your names were trending side by side.
and just like that, it wasn’t speculation anymore.
it was real. it was official.
it was you and her. finally.

Versus II
Hardersson x Child!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: Magda can't play against Denmark
Tumblr media
You don't quite understand the Nations League.
You didn't really understand last season either. All you knew that your regular international break of qualifiers and friendlies have been replaced by a competition.
That's kind of confusing, you think as you sit on the bench and swing your legs during the pitch check.
You don't know why there needs to be so many competitions when the old system worked just fine and your Morsa and Momma could actually get some rest for once.
But things have changed now so apparently this next match actually means something or, at least, it's meant to mean something. You're not actually sure if it does.
What you do know though, is that Magda will not be playing in it.
She got a yellow card during the last match against Italy and apparently she'd already gotten too many yellow cards during the campaign so she had to sit out of this one.
Magda's kind of silly, you think, for playing too rough with the others and getting herself banned. It's naughty and when you're naughty Magda and Pernille make you sit on the naughty step.
Magda's suspension is kind of like the naughty step but it's public so everyone knows.
You hope that never happens to you, having people know you've been naughty and been made to sit out makes your chest feel all funny in a bad way and you reach up to rub it.
"What's this?" A very familiar, teasing voice asks," No hug from my favourite girl?"
You look up with a smile, that odd feeling disappearing completely as you throw yourself into the body in front of you.
"Momma!" You cry," You're here!"
Pernille laughs, standing smoothly and swinging you around as you giggle, questions already flowing out of your mouth before she can stop you.
"Are you starting today? Did you bring me some skildpadder? You said you would! Did Morsa send you the picture I drew for you? Did you see me showing Stina my German? Oh! Did you see Morsa was naughty? She can't play today!"
Pernille laughs, head thrown back as she adjusts her grip on you. "I am starting today. I did bring you some skildpadder but you only get it if Morsa tells me you've been good for her. I did see the picture you drew for me. It was beautiful. We'll have to put it up on the fridge when we get home. And I didn't see you teaching Stina German. I'll have to watch the video later."
You giggle. "And did you see Morsa was naughty? Did you? Did you? She's got a yellow card."
"What's this?" Magda asks as she approaches from behind, a hand on your back and leaning forward to peck Pernille's lips," Are you telling on me again, princesse?"
You giggle, leaning to rest your head on Pernille's shoulder. "Momma's allowed to know these things," You tell Magda," So she knows that she can beat you today."
Both of your mothers laugh and Magda pokes at your new Sweden shirt right on the badge.
"You don't want Sweden to win?" She teases," While you're wearing our shirt?"
You shrug with a crooked little grin, showing off the gaps in your gums where you've lost teeth. "I'm Danish too, Morsa," You reply, puffing out your chest proudly," So Denmark or Sweden can win today because they're both my teams."
Pernille giggles as the pretend outraged look on Magda's face as she spins away. "She is Danish too, Magda," She throws over her shoulder," She's allowed to root for whoever she wants."
"Not while she wears my jersey!" Magda yells back but even you know she's teasing.
"It's got my name on it!" You yell back at her and Pernille laughs as she carries you back to the circle of Danish players standing nearby.
You manage to stick by Pernille's side all the way up to the match starting. You even go so far as walking out with her, wearing her familiar Denmark warm up jacket to hide your Sweden jersey from the cameras.
Denmark don't end up winning. They lose by a lot actually, six goals to a measly one scored by Janni in the first half.
"Don't cry, Momma," You tell Pernille when she comes to collect her you even though she's not crying," At least you got to play today. Morsa didn't so I don't think you should have to do the dishes for losing."
Laughter bubbles up from Pernille's mouth. "What?"
You shrug. "Yeah, because she's naughty, she didn't get to play against you and the rule is that the loser has to do the dishes when you play against each other. So Morsa didn't play and you didn't lose against her."
You say it like it's obvious, already twisting around in Pernille's arms to address Magda, who's already approaching with that stupid victory smirk on her face.
You cut her off before she can even tease.
"You weren't allowed to play," You tell her," So Momma didn't lose against you. She lost against Sweden. It doesn't count."
Magda's mouth opens and closes several times. "I...What?"
"You're not Sweden, Morsa," You continue," Momma only lost to Sweden. It doesn't count. And you were the naughty one that got in trouble so you have to do the dishes."
"But..." Magda struggles to find a response. "I don't want to do the dishes."
You shrug. "We all have to do things that we don't want to do, Morsa, and you have to do the dishes now."

Staring ain't enough! ✦ Jax (TADC)
𖦹—*Rubs hands together like a fly* You already KNOW!!
Gender neutral || Can be platonic or romantic || Censored/Uncensored swearing || Reader has no mentioned features
Tumblr media
“Oh, my god... What am I looking at?” You bite your lip to prevent your laughter from spilling out, but the shakiness of your voice doesn’t fail to make Jax squint at you in anger. Pomni sits on his left as she kicks her legs in the air, obviously looking away to avoid any part of the conversation.
There on the bench he sat, dawned in a maid outfit with black slip-on shoes, knee-length white socks, white gloves— Is that a chest window!?
“Yeah yeah yeah, I’m in a maid outfit, look to your heart's content.” Jax then notices your eyes peer up and widen. He realizes what you were looking at and covers the window with his hand. “WELL DON’T LOOK AT THAT!” He yells out angrily. “Can’t even give a guy some decorum! You’re such a degenerate!”
You place the palm of your hand near your cheek. “Oh-ho-ho, no! If this is what I voted for while I was on the field then this may as well be my prize,” You walk over towards the bench and sit on his right side, your eyes not leaving his form, “It’s not everyday you get an outfit change afterall.”
“We literally had four other places where our outfits changed and THIS is the one you decide to fully focus on?”
“Mhm!” You nod. You continue to look at the window without shame, giggling to the point your cheeks started to flush. Jax’s lip tightens and pupils slowly shrink into squares as you continue poking fun at his misfortune. He had the mind to shrink you into a softball and toss you into the sun.
You lean back to wipe the tear that was forming in your eye and look up to the sky with playful longing. “I really wish I had a camera right now—”
“No.”
“—Specifcally a polaroid—”
“NO!”
The voting table pops up and the two of you look down at it; Besides Jax and Pomni, everyone approved whatever request had been placed. To the dismay of the purple rabbit, you were suddenly given a shiny new polaroid camera right in the palm of your hand. The face you made could be comparable to the Devil himself. You’re off the bench in a blur and suddenly in front of him with the camera covering half your face.
“Smile!” You happily laugh before he’s hit with a flash of white. He yelps, blinking his eyelids before covering his face.
“Augh, jeez— Put your [@!$#] toy away!”
SNAP!
“[NAME]!”
SNAP!
“STOP TAKING PHOTOS OF ME!”
SNAP!
“FOR [%$!#]’s SAKE—C’MERE!” He leaps off the bench with his arms outstretched. His attempt at grabbing you fails as you dodge to the side and begin running towards the end of the benching area. Pomni watches from the sideline as you’re chased for a bit before Kinger stops Jax, telling him it was his turn to bat.
(ᐢ. ₓ .ᐢ)
Walking back into your room after the suggestion adventures, you sadly toss out the polaroid camera that Jax had slapped out of your hand and stomped into mangled oblivion. You walk towards your bed, turn your back to it, and flop onto its soft covers, allowing you to stare at the ceiling for a while. Once you’ve processed the events of today, your mind suddenly clicks again to Jax’s maid outfit fiasco. Your cheeks flush as your chuckling turns to laughter.
You dig into the space in your outfit and pull out the polaroids that had processed by the end of it. A few of the photos were a bit smeared from Jax attempting to launch at you, but the rest were as clear as day—especially of the window.
Your door is suddenly swung open.
Jax’s gloved palm is curled tightly on the door knob, his figure hunched over, and his face flushed pink in the middle. You can see his teeth sneer as he stares you down from the opening, even more so when he locks his eyes onto the photos in your hands. You’re about to question how he got in when you see a key placed in his other tightly-fisted hand.
Well it’s not like you didn’t see this coming at some point.
You laugh tauntingly albeit with a hint of fear, waving the photos in the air. “You’re still not upset about the photos I have of you, right? I can always toss ‘em in the trash if that’ll make you feel better.” You smirk.
Jax’s laugh is anything but nice. He is seething.
“Oh-ho-ho, no… I don’t trust you in doing that sort of thing, especially when I leave this room.” He takes a few steps into your room, kicks the door closed with his foot, and locks the door without turning away from you. “SO! We’re gonna settle this one way or another,”
Your smile wobbles slightly and you feel sweat begin to form on your forehead.
He smiles angrily and his left eye squints. “‘Cause I’m not leaving this room without those photos.”
Well shit…

author's note: inspired by ross finding out chandler is with monica in friends!
--
"REMUS LUPIN I WILL TORTURE YOU SLOWLY UNTIL YOU DIE A SLOW PAINFUL DEATH!" Remus and y/n sprang apart when they heard Sirius bellowing down the hall. The few others who were also in the common room jumped as well. Sirius never used Remus's actual name unless he was angry, and this was the angriest y/n had seen him since his Dumbledore chocolate frog card had been stolen. The couple exchanged worried looks while the Fat Lady's indignant cries mingled with Sirius's yells, "MR. BLACK, YOU SLAM MY DOOR ONE MORE TIME AND YOU WILL BE SLEEPING IN THE HA--" her voice cut off as the door closed.
Sirius emerged, the picture of fury. His eyebrows were furrowed, his forehead vein was pulsing violently, and his fists were balled up, knuckles white. Y/n thought for a second that steam would actually start pouring out of his ears. He stomped towards the couple, or rather, towards Remus; his wide, dark eyes were fixed on him. In an attempt to look casual, Remus turned and leaned over the back of the couch to look at y/n's red-faced brother.
"What's up, Pad--"
"What's up?! WHAT'S UP?" The couple flinched and inched toward each other in fear.
"Merlin's beard Sirius, what--"
He whirled towards y/n, pointing his finger accusingly. "AND YOU! YOU KNOW WHAT'S UP TOO!"
"Don't talk to her like that!" Remus instinctively sprang up to protect y/n from her raging brother, even though they all knew Sirius wouldn't do anything to her. Sirius's black hair slapped him in the face as he immediately spun back around to glare at his friend.
The yelling triggered y/n's younger sibling instincts to poke the bear and see how far she could push him. She cooed, "Well, considering you haven't told us what's going on, I actually don't know what's going on, lovely brother." She then smiled a sickeningly sweet smile. Remus groaned.
Sirius's eyes grew even darker as he huffed and puffed, and as he opened his mouth to continue, the door swung open again and the Fat Lady's shrieks filled the rooms once more. "MR. POTTER, I DON'T SUPPOSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN MR. BLACK IN SLEEPING OUTSI--"
James sauntered in with his usual bored expression and Peter scurried in after him.
"Padfoot, I thought I heard your melodic tunes." James stuck his hand in his pockets and leaned against the wall. "Sorry I couldn't catch him you two, he really is quick when he wants to be." James addressed Remus and y/n, taking in the sight of Remus still standing protectively in front of y/n.
Y/n narrowed her eyes at James. "James," she said in a warning tone, "What did you do?" James shrugged in response and ambled over to the nearest couch. He flopped onto the cushions and took out a snitch from his pocket, and began tossing it up in the air and catching it. Peter wrung his hands in the corner, looking nervously at everyone.
"Well..." another throw and catch, "I might have accidentally let it slip that perhaps you and Moony have been -- well, fucking."
Y/n's eyes grew wide in horror and she began to stomp towards him, but Remus beat her to it. Blood rushed to his face in anger as he flew over to James to thump him.
"James Fleamont Potter, I swear to MERLIN you are such a GIT!" James merely looked up indifferently at his glowering friend.
"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE MAD, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?" The lamps shook and candles rattled in their holders at the noise.
"SIrius!" Y/n stepped forward cautiously, but he didn't seem to hear her. She tried again, "SIRIUS!" and failed once more, and on the last "SIRIUS ORION BLACK!" He whirled around and scowled at her.
"WHAT!"
"JAMES DIDN'T TELL YOU THE WHOLE THING!"
Sirius's eyes narrowed and a slight look of confusion took over. "Explain, then. Right now."
Y/n sighed and chose her words carefully. "Remus and I -- we're not--" she grimaced, "Fucking. I mean yes, I guess we are, that's what happens when you--" She then started rambling but skidded to a halt upon seeing the fire return to my brother's eyes, "That's -- what I mean is, Remus and I... we've been in a relationship for a while."
The whole of the common room could hear the wheels creaking in Sirius's head as he processed y/n's words. The whole of the common room was silent, and the other students' eyes bounced back and forth between Sirius, Remus, and y/n, as if watching a three way tennis game.
"A... a relationship?"
Remus took the opportunity to jump in and explain. "Yes! It's not nothing, we haven't been just hooking up. I'm... I'm in love with your sister--" you blushed a bright pink, "--and I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner but I just didn't want our friendship to change."
The silence was agonizingly deafening. Sirius stared at Remus, and y/n's heart pounded as she tried to read her brother's face.
"A relationship." Remus nodded furiously. "So... how long..."
"About seven months now." Sirius turned slowly back towards y/n. "Seven... seven?" Y/n nodded meekly and waited for his response.
"How did you... how did you two hide..." Sirius trailed off. No one spoke. The only movement in the room was the flickering fire.
Sirius stared blankly at the wall for a few moments before speaking again. "Are you happy, y/n?"
"Of course I am Siri, this is the happiest I have ever been, and Remus really treats me so well. I love him, Siri." Now it was Remus's turn to blush. The knot in y/n's stomach uncoiled as Sirius's gaze softened.
"Alright then..." he nodded resolutely, and then the most unexpected thing happened.
Sirius began jumping up and down, punching the air in delight, and he yelled, "MY SISTER AND MY BEST FRIEND! MY BABY SISTER AND MY BEST FRIEND!" He pulled y/n to him and jumped her over to Remus, who was staring, stunned.
"COME ON YOU GUYS! THIS IS A CELEBRATION! MY SISTER AND MY BEST FRIEND!" His other arm was now around Remus, jerking him around with each jump. Remus and y/n looked at each other bewildered, and then burst into laughter. They started jumping with him, squealing, and then jumped over to Peter and dragged him into the circle.
Sirius broke out into a loud and off-tune rendition of the Hogwarts school song, "HOGWARTS, HOGWARTS, HOGGY WARTY HOGWARTS, TEACH US SOMETHING PLEEEEASE! JAMES ARE YOU HEARING THIS?"
Y/n looked over at James, who had frozen on his couch, the snitch flapping violently in his hand. "Come here James! Come join us!" After a beat, James threw his head back in laughter and sprang to his feet to join the circle. In all the excitement, the snitch had escaped from his hand and fluttered above their heads. The group all jumped up and down for a few more minutes while Sirius finished the song, and then panting, they slowed to a halt.
Remus grinned and wiped some sweat from his forehead. "I guess James wasn't completely wrong, I mean, it did start when we got drunk and--" Remus's eyes widened into the size of fanged frisbees as he slowly realized what had slipped out. Y/n's face dropped into her hands.
"I'm just kidding! I'm just... kidding..." Remus backed away carefully, his palms outstretched in submission. Sirius followed him menacingly. He was still panting, but now more so from rage than from leaping around.
Y/n threw her hands up in defeat and sighed, "Oh, Remus, my sweet, sweet idiot, I think you should start running." Remus looked at y/n in horror before taking off.
In the blink of an eye, Sirius was chasing Remus around the common room, Remus yelling, "WAIT A SECOND, LISTEN HERE, LISTEN PADFOOT--"
Laughing, y/n flopped onto the couch between James and Peter, where they had collapsed after the jumping fiasco. She punched his arm playfully, "You're an asshole, you know that?" James laughed and shrugged, feigning innocence.
They watched the chase and James wondered, "How long do you s'pose they'll be going for?"
Peter smiled, amused, and replied, "I don't know but they seem to be going strong to me."
Y/n waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, we'll just let them tire themselves out." And they watched the boys sprint around the common room for the next half hour.

DANI & Y/N FORGETTING THEIR PR TRAINING FOR 14 MINUTES GAY (PART 2)
*Loud technical difficulty transition* Cut to the one year anniversary live, the video titled, “Happy First KATSEYE Day”. Daniela and Y/N were sitting where Sophia and Lara were in that video. As Manon tried to explain her answer to a question Yoonchae asked, the camera seemed much more interested in a certain duo than their centre.
“No, because I know for a fact Lara takes the longest to get ready. Girlie has a hair and fit routine that takes so much longer than an hour,” Manon practically yelled, “No—Sophia, stop! Trust, Lara is the one who takes the longest.”
As they bickered back and forth about who was right, the video zoomed in on Daniela and Y/N. The Latina, in a sheer top and her hair pulled back a bit was sitting with her leg crossed, body leaning towards Y/N, who had a hand caressing the fishnets Daniela was wearing. The older Katseye member didn’t seem to realize they were sitting that close together, her head resting on Daniela’s shoulder.
The video editor cuts to Megan beside Manon, second to last on the couch, making note of the way the redhead eyed the two of them with a dramatic grimace.
[ Megan’s sick of their PDA I know it ]
“This question is about Dani,” Yoonchae read off her card. Manon and Sophia perked up in their seats, ready to dominate the game once again as their youngest made her way through the words on her list. “Which rnb artist has Dani been listening to on repeat lately?”
Manon and Sophia yell their own names, jumping out their seats in attempts to get Yoonchae to call on them first.
Y/N raised a finger, nodding and winking into the camera before sharing a look with Daniela, who was pouting because the older lifted her head off her shoulder. Yoonchae glanced past the two eldest members of the group, seeing a reserved Y/N sitting patiently in her seat. Her name was called.
“Y/N hasn’t spoken yet, Y/N should answer!” Yoonchae said.
[ Yoonchae defender till I die ]
The latter smiled at their maknae, sitting up as she glanced down at Daniela. “I know every single artist Dani has put on loop recently, but I’ll just give ya’ll the top three. It goes Brent Faiyaz, Feid, and then Daniel Caesar.”
Daniela nodded, beaming with pride as she clapped. “Daniel’s tied with Rosalía, but yeah, that sounds right.”
Both of them turned to Yoonchae for confirmation, and after a second of the Korean reading and processing the answer on her card, she nodded with an adorable smile. “Y/N’s right.”
Daniela moved her arm to rest over the top of the couch, sliding it behind Y/N. Y/N’s hand still running smoothly along her thigh. It wasn’t until they had moved onto the next section of their live when Daniela was snacking on some of the treats sitting before them did they switch their position up a bit.
Y/N was still engaged in the game they were currently playing, doing her best to keep Manon’s cursing to a minimum as she helped Lara answer some questions.
Daniela grabbed a couple pieces of candy covered in powdered sugar. She had two in her mouth, the candies poking out against her inner cheek as powdered sugar smeared across her lips.
Y/N turned to see what Daniela was fidgeting about, noticing the girl was entranced by the candy in her hands.
She laughed, pointing at the blonde’s lips before she wiped the powdered sugar off with her thumb. Y/N pressed her finger up against her own lips, sucking the sugar from her hand before licking her lips. Daniela was caught off guard by the woman’s action, dropping a piece of the candy in her hand down into her lap. Both of them looked down, but before the arm Daniela had over Y/N’s shoulder could move, the older grabbed it and put it in her mouth. She easily dusted the younger’s lap, giggling at the way Daniela covered her face with a hand as her cheeks flushed a faint shade of red.
[ Y/N’s that type gf I’m dizzy… ]
*Loud technical difficulty transition* Cut to the move-in video, where the girls were sharing a deep moment of their thoughts and feelings on achieving their dreams. Y/N began tearing up because of Sophia’s speech, tears brimming her eyes and she was sniffling just the slightest.
Y/N was getting increasingly emotional over their leader’s heartfelt monologue on how grateful she was for their little family. Daniela noticed the older getting overwhelmed, so she switched places with Megan to give the woman a hug. Her body shielded Y/N from the cameras in the front as the video cuts to a side camera, where we see Y/N’s hands fixing her face, which was still kept from lenses by Daniela.
The blonde glanced down at Y/N, brushing her hair out of her face as the older wiped the smudged mascara away from her eyes. Daniela hushed quietly, careful not to scratch the woman on accident with her press-ons.
Daniela wrapped her arms around her friend, pressing a quick peck onto the top of her head. Her hands ran up and down Y/N’s back as the other members soothed Sophia, it was truly a moment Dann/n stood out and away from the other bonds in their group. Then, Y/N’s hands could be seen resting on Dani’s hips as she calmed down. When the older was ready, Daniela moved away, taking a seat beside her, still unwilling to leave the woman alone.
[ Dani’s def Y/N’s comfort person ]
*Loud technical difficulty transition* Cut to a clip of the girls in the rehearsal room. Manon was challenging Lara to some dance off as they moved around frantically in the foreground of the video, but if you squinted and looked closer, you could catch something in the background.
As Megan taught Yoonchae and Sophia a specific part of the choreography, and Lara and Manon twerking their way towards the mirror. Y/N was enjoying a cool sip of water in the background. Matching with Lara, she was dressed in just a black bra and grey sweats that flashed the band of the boxers she was wearing. Her chest glistened with sweat, hair messy and disheveled as she scrolled through her phone.
Daniela eyed Y/N out the corner of her eye, feeling her head tune out Manon’s screechy voice. She watched Y/N’s chest heave as she caught her breath, running a hand through her own curls before standing from her cross-legged position on the floor. She jogged over to the older, reading the schedule Y/N had pulled up on her phone over her shoulder.
“Hey, stranger,” Daniela whispered, unable to earn a jump from Y/N as the older turned.
Her eyes widened and her expression brightened. She set down her bottle of water and slipped her phone back into her pocket. “Dani, I just found out about this perfect little nook around the block. There’s a shitload of books and they have a record section with this dainty little café, it’s perfect. I’ve been meaning to check out.”
Daniela chuckled, tucking her hair behind her ear, “Yeah?”
Y/N nodded, her hands resting on her hips. She glanced over at their members making the most of their five minute break. “Yeah, I was just checking the schedule to see when we’d have time to go. I think Yoonchae would really enjoy a nice quiet afternoon out of work and Sophia could use a nice croissant.”
Daniela was just disappointed just the slightest bit. She was hoping Y/N was implying they would leave together, but being the mother type she was, she couldn’t say she was surprised to hear Y/N meant to bring the girls too.
“Sounds perfect,” Daniela said softly, raising a hand to caress Y/N’s shoulder. “Hey, do y’know how to do the hip move?”
In the zoomed out camera shot focused on Manon and Lara, fans could tell Daniela was trying to learn a particular move in their choreography from Y/N. The older’s exposed torso flexed and glistened under the practice room’s fluorescent lights, as the younger ushered for Y/N to help her with the move closer.
[ Really? The main dancer—AKA Mini Shakira—of Katseye asking for help on a dance move? Dani’s not slick ]
*Loud technical difficulty transition* Cut to a clip of Manon on live at home with Y/N again, the roommates were having fun and engaging with fans before their door creaked open.
“Yeah, Y/N loves wearing these mini skirts. We have a matching pair of jean skirts with this buckle around the waist, it’s so cute.” Manon ranted, doing her mascara in the mirror behind the phone. “‘Who’s the stylist of the group?’, it’s most definitely Lara or Y/N. They pull off their styles so well.”
As Y/N was about to answer, the door to their room creaked open. Both their heads turned to eye Daniela, who sauntered into the room in a hoodie.
She approached Y/N, a leg thrusted over her hips before taking a seat on the older’s lap. Y/N cooed, wrapping her arms around Daniela’s waist as the younger hooked hers around the older’s neck. Manon shared a look with Y/N, before turning the camera just the slightest so the pair wouldn’t be in the centre of the screen. You could still see part of Y/N’s face, along with the two members’ bodies being glued together.
[ WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. F*CK. ]
“You okay, Dani?” Y/N asked softly, feeling the blonde nuzzle her nose into the crook of her neck further. “What’s up?”
Daniela just groaned, her grip around Y/N tightening, eyes squeezed shut. She felt the older’s chest vibrate as she hummed. The blonde was so engrossed in having her moment with her band mate, she hadn’t even noticed the camera still streaming their moment to everybody.
“Dani, we’re on live right now. Wanna go to your room?”
Manon cackled at the loud shriek Daniela let out, jumping off Y/N’s lap. The latter just laughed along with Manon at the Latina’s reaction, making sure she hadn’t hit her head when she fell down onto the floor.
“Oh my God, somebody said Dani might as well be Y/N’s shadow ‘cuz she never leaves her side.” Manon burst into absolute hysteria at the comment, leaning back to lie on the floor as she laughed. Y/N chuckled, leaning in to read the comments as well. Daniela was laid still on the floor offscreen, her head in her hands.

“You guys are too much,” Y/N snickered as she skimmed the comments, “‘Y/N’s middle name must be wifi, the way Dani can’t live without her.’ is crazy, guys.”
Daniela finally mustered the courage to peel herself from the floor. Coming onscreen, she was blushing and sat between the two roommates as the comments flood with more teasing phrases about Daniela’s action.

“Guys, I just needed a hug, okay? I would’ve done that to Manon if she was the one sitting closer to the door,” Daniela tried saving herself, her hands raising to touch her cheeks. They were hot to the touch, burning bright with shyness.
Manon raised an eyebrow, throwing the blonde a ‘really’ expression. “Y’know your big ass—big Pinocchio looking head is lying right now. You once said you would rather lick a public bathroom floor than be seen hugging me.”
“I never said that!” Daniela squeaked, “Manon, stop!”
Y/N rolled her eyes with a smile, leaning in to read the fans’ thoughts as the two argued in the back.
*Loud technical difficulty transition* Cut to a clip of Y/N talking on a solo live, the shot was zoomed in on a handful of necklaces around her neck.
As Y/N ranged on about producing some songs with Lara on their day off, the video editor zoomed in on the necklaces around Y/N’s neck. There were a couple thin chains and then some with charms, but one stood out with a big letter D.
[ Unless Y/N has a partner with the name D outside the group, this is a little sus ]
In another part of that live, there was a light blue friendship bracelet around her wrist. And the fans seemed to point out the familiar looking accessory from a Yoonchae and Daniela live a couple days ago.
“‘Y/N, are you matching bracelets with Dani?’ Oh, this old thing?” Y/N laughed, fondling with it around her wrist. “Dani’s mom got us a make your own bracelet kit when Katseye first moved in together as a housewarming gift. When Dani got sick one weekend and the others were home for the holidays, we watched movies and made bracelets. She made me this blue one and I made her a pink one. I don’t know if she still wears hers, but I don’t really take mine off.”
user01 Oh she def does not
user02 no n/n we saw it the other day!!
user03 It’s the only thing Dani wears on her left arm
user04 COUPLE BRACELETS! COUPLE BRACELETS!
“Oh, is it? Yeah, Dani and I spent that break together. My parents were away on vacation and hers had to reschedule ‘cuz of some stomach bug passing around the family.” Y/N thought back on that Thanksgiving, it was very fun being alone in the big Katseye dorm without the usual chaos. “Anyway. The Katz all have this necklace we got from Kate Spade. It’s this one.”
She picked the necklace out from her other ones, briefly flashing the ‘D’ necklace too.
user05 the d necklace is crazy
user06 Dani’s really staking her claim
user07 I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO ABT THIS
The screen suddenly flashes with screenshots from instagram pictures Daniela posted. Under her zip-up, you can see Y/N’s initial on a similar necklace.
[ And thus, Dann/n remains alive and healthy ]

Tumblr media
you’ve known the boys for years.
you’d met mingyu back in your senior year of highschool. both of you being on the friendly, outgoing side of introversion, he knew he had to introduce you to his rather large group of friends once you guys graduated.
and wow was your life was never the same.
you had a group of down to earth boys (men) who all looked after you like no one else had. a friend group that people could only ever dream of. no one got upset if you chose to hang out with only one of them for a day, rather than the whole group. if you wanted to go out clubbing with your girlfriends, they all knew you had 13 body guard options to call before heading out. and the best part, your best friend of the group might as well be a professional chef. you never had to worry about going hungry or even cooking as long as you had mingyu around.
other than mingyu, you ended up gravitating toward minghao, jihoon, seungcheol, and jeonghan. almost entirely separate, but sometimes you, seungcheol, and jeonghan would go out on a weeknight for some 2am ihop.
the last thing you or anyone else had expected however, was for you and jeonghan to develop a “situationship” of sorts together.
over the last couple months, you both started developing what you thought were strictly sexual feelings toward each other. now, you weren’t so sure. you knew your feelings were turning into something far deeper than just lust, but you quickly tried to shut them down in fear of ruining your initial friendship with him. tried to. you also were terrified to face those feelings because… you had no idea how he felt. other than the occasional secret or rant that he needed to share with you that he couldn’t share with the boys, jeonghan was pretty emotionally reserved. you had NO idea how he actually felt about you beyond friendly and horny.
until that night.
-
truth, dare, or drink was a game that you played with the boys every once in awhile when you guys were feeling frisky. normally, it came to one of your brains once you guys had already been drinking through the night.
in tonight’s game, jeonghan thought it’d be funny to dare jihoon to lean over and give you a kiss. childish. so childish. you could tell he just didn’t have any better idea in his buzzed brain.
“awww don’t be a pussy, jihoon!” jeonghan taunted him. he was leaning backward due to you being sandwiched between the two boys at the table, jihoon to your left, jeonghan to your right.
“nah i’m not touching her, hannie. you’re funny” jihoon chuckled, throwing back the clear liquid.
“heyyyy rude!” you pouted, crossing your arms playfully, a smile threatening to pull at your mouth.
“tsss…” jihoon put down the shot glass. “jeonghan would kill me, y/n” he chuckled. then, “ow!” he yelled, still laughing.
you whipped your head to jeonghan who was… glaring at jihoon? he’d smacked him upside the head and you had no idea why. you thought jihoon making that comment was just to poke fun at the fact that everyone knew you and jeonghan were basically fuck buddies. however, jeonghan didn’t find it very funny for whatever reason. you playfully pushed his face telling him to lighten up. to that he faintly smiled before putting his elbows on the table and lacing his fingers together in front of his face. he looked like a cartoon villain. what was he so upset about?
“anyways…” you were the next to talk. “soonyoung! your turn!” you enthused leaning back in your seat to look at the boy to the right of jeonghan.
soonyoung jumped out of his seat before nearly screaming, “Y/N!”
“oh fuck.” jihoon mumbled looking into his lap. you broke eye contact with soonyoung to look at jihoon in confusion.
“i’m so sorry to do this.” you looked back up at soonyoung. what the fuck is going on?
“man i swear, if you don’t keep your mouth shut,” jihoon stood up from his chair.
“what? i have to ask!”
“no, no you don’t.” jihoon’s voice was threateningly low, and you now thought you had a hunch as to what’s about to happen. your heart started to race.
“is it true that you and hoon hooked up at last year’s halloween party?!”
“i’m gonna beat your fucking ass-“
you pushed your chair out blocking jihoon’s path before he could follow through. you shot your arm out for good measure to make sure he didn’t try to pass you. he silently turned around and sat back in his chair.
when you turned back around to face soonyoung, you couldn’t help but feel jeonghan’s eyes burning holes into you along with everyone else’s.
“dude, why?” you asked in a low tone.
“whaaaat the game was getting boring! i had to spice things up a bit,” he teased putting a hand on his hip before pointing his finger in your face over jeonghan’s head. “now answer the question or take a shot missy. either way, we’ll know the answer.”
you glared at him intensely sitting back down in your chair and quietly saying “it’s true,” before reaching for the shot in front of you and slamming it anyways. you needed it. you felt jeonghan’s eyes on the side of your face and you couldn’t bring yourself to look at him. you just locked eyes with mingyu across the table, knowing that even with his shock, his gaze would comfort you nonetheless. it worked. his face quickly went from a “what the fuck?” expression to a reassuring “well talk about this later” look.
“ahem”
no.
“that’s interesting,” josh said from the head of the table.
“josh!” you, seungcheol and mingyu yelled at the same time. they also knew what joshua had to have been thinking, and didn’t want you to endure more embarrassment.
“ i thought i was your only little secret,” he said in a condescending tone, crossing his arms.
your face was hot. “it happened years ago josh!” you were yelling from your seat. “and we haven’t talked about it since! why are you even bringing it up? who cares!”
SLAM! you flinched. jeonghan had punched the table.
“i fucking do!” he yelled shooting up from his chair. “while we’re here,” his voice dropped, placing his palms on the table, leaning forward glancing at everyone. “would anyone else like to confess to fucking y/n?”
“jeonghan,” you reached your hand up to rest on his arm and you felt his muscles stiffen.
“it’s not like that,” jihoon followed up, trying to reassure him. jeonghan wouldn’t look at him. “it was over a year ago. it wasn’t important then, and it’s not important now.”
“it still fucking happened,” he looked over his shoulder down at you. “and you didn’t tell me about it.” his tone was laced with what could only be described as anguish.
“doesn’t seem like she’s told anyone,” josh pettily adds before taking a sip of whatever drink he’d made for himself before the game started.
now you were the one to punch the table but you didn’t stand up. “dammit josh! jihoon and i both agreed we’d pretend like it never happened. it was a mistake. and it happened years after you and i hooked up so why would i tell you out of everyone?! i didn’t even tell mingyu!” you were shaking in your seat. your breath rapid as you were hitting the peak of your anger induced high. shitfaced josh didn’t know when to stop. sober josh would never even slightly push anyone’s buttons the way drunk josh was vigorously punching yours right now (and jeonghan’s).
“well it seems you told mingyu and cheol about us, so what’s the reason for that? was i too good to forget?”
before jeonghan could even start to move toward him you stood up, forcefully holding him back by his shoulder. he froze. “josh…” you started, still keeping your hand on jeonghan to make sure he didn’t try anything. “i told them because i was fucking humiliated, and couldn’t believe that i fucked you.” you spat. “is that what you wanted to hear?” you could’ve sworn in that moment, all of jeonghan’s tension shifted to josh because as jeonghan found his way back into his chair, josh stood up. it didn’t phase you in the slightest.
“you’re fucking lying, y/n. i had to have been the best you ever-”
“fucking watch yourself man,” seungcheol warned, also getting out of his seat to defend you and jeonghan, his best friend.
“oh what? did you fuck her too?”
“that’s it!” jeonghan shot back out of his chair charging toward him.
luckily seungcheol was at the chair right next to josh and managed to get to him before jeonghan, stepping in front of him as some sort of human shield. jeonghan stopped in his tracks, mere inches away from his best friend.
“cheol, move.” he growled.
“walk away jeonghan.” seungcheol tried to calm him down.
“i’m not walking the fuck away. move or i’ll move you myself.”
“hannie, it’s not worth it,” you chimed in, making your way to him. “he [josh] isn’t worth it. what we did isn’t worth it.” joshua scoffed at your comment. you tried to ignore him, knowing that if sober josh was in there somewhere, he was telling his drunk self to just shut the fuck up and go along with all of it. although you really were ashamed of that hookup. you guys were like 19 at the time after all.
“look,” jeonghan turns around to face you. “jihoon? i get it. don’t ask me how or why, but it’s not much of a shock to me. i can suck it up over that.” he pointed his arm out behind him straight at josh, still looking at you. “but him? fucking joshua?” his voice nearly breaking at the end.
“what the fuck is that supposed to mean?” josh mumbled.
you and jeonghan ignored him.
“it happened years ago hannie.” it suddenly dawned on you how intense this simple game of truth or dare had turned. as you and jeonghan stared at each other in silence, everyone else waiting for what was gonna happen next, you had a million thoughts running through your mind. why does he care so much ? is it because josh is one of his best friends and he can’t believe josh didn’t tell him? is he… jealous? no. maybe?
it was almost like jeonghan could hear the questions in your head. his face turned into something small and ashamed as he slowly lowered his head looking down at the ground. one last thought was about to run through your head. is he like in lo-
then seungkwan broke the silence, clearing his throat. you both whipped your heads to the other end of the table. everyone else still staring at the two of you. “why don’t we just continue the game. no more stupid bullshit, soonyoung.”
you took a deep breath. “i think i like the sound of that boo,” you held your hand out for jeonghan to take and he did so hesitantly. not until the two of you were fully seated did seungcheol make his way back to his seat. everyone’s eyes moved to josh still standing at the end of table… waiting for him to sit.
“josh?” mingyu spoke up. it was almost like he snapped him out of a trance.
“yeah! yeah let’s keep playing,” he blurted sitting back down.
“alright well i guess it’s my turn then,” seungcheol nervously chuckled. “jun! i dare you to take a shot!”
“what?” jun laughed. collectively the tension in the room withered away as everyone started laughing softly, giving seungcheol confused looks, except for josh. he just sat, straight faced.
“yeah, you’ve barely drank tonight! cmon! either way you have to take a shot soooo…” seokmin added.
“okay okay,” jun smiled while leaning over the table for the bottle.
once he took the shot, everyone carefully looked to joshua who was clearly faking his enthusiasm now. “okay well… i gotta go with y/n!” he said in such a deceptively happy tone, you knew he wasn’t over what had just finally ended for you and literally everyone else at the table.
vernon spoke up for the first time since his last turn probably 15 minutes ago, “please don’t be a dick dude.” he casually took a sip of his drink.
“don’t worry, don’t worryyyy. i just gotta ask her something.”
you watched jeonghan’s face as he stared at his drink in front of him. his jaw was clenched so tight you thought he might shatter his teeth. you put your hand on his thigh under the table to silently tell him you wish josh would shut up just as bad as he did. “why don’t you just leave her alone man?” jeonghan asked calmly not looking away from his glass.
“well i would but there’s just this burning question i have in my head that i can’t shake,” josh was slurring a bit but still thinking about his next words wisely. “y/n,” he was staring into your soul, and you did the same to him, not backing down. “was i not the best you’ve ever had?”
“no,” you immediately answered. “no you weren’t. why do you think i never mentioned it again?” jeonghan smiled to himself looking down in his lap, grabbing your hand that was on his thigh. the gesture was oddly sweet in this bitter situation.
“oh? well then who was the best hm?” josh followed up.
“oh, jeonghan! hands down,” you didn’t even hesitate. his grip on your hand tightened, the grin on his face widening as his eyes stayed locked in his lap. you even heard jihoon softly chuckle behind you.
“bullshit,” josh accused. jeonghan quickly looked up at him, tilting his head ever so slightly. “no way he’s giving it to you better than i did.”
after that comment, everyone collectively started yelling at him to just go to sleep or leave the game, anything to get him to stop his petty remarks. including you. you were still yelling when jeonghan turned to you, cupping your face, “shut the fuck up,” he whispered before grabbing your wrist and forcefully pulling you away from the table. he stopped at the end by josh’s chair.
“fine!” jeonghan exclaimed, silencing everyone. he then leaned in to josh’s ear, “i’ll just let you hear how much better im giving it to her.” and with that jeonghan was dragging you up the stairs at an aggressive pace, not even giving anyone the opportunity to respond.
once you reached the top of the stair case he spun you around in front of him so you were walking backwards. you passed the banister as he started taking off your shirt. your bare chest on display for anyone to see had they looked up from the table down below. you couldn’t care less.
“kiss me,” you whimpered trying not to stumble backward as he’s fondling with the button of your pants. he obeyed, eagerly crashing his lips into yours as you both neared his room. he started turning you to the left and you knew you’d reached your destination. he didn’t push you all the way into his room though.
“if it gets to be too much say ‘stop’,” he breathed before pushing you against his open door and dropping to his knees, immediately pulling your pants down. you stepped out of them without a second thought. is he just gonna fuck me against his open bedroom door?
“fuck!” you gasped out as he dove in after your clothed core. i guess the answer is yes.
“jesus y/n,” he growled moving your underwear to the side. “you’re fucking soaked already,” he continued to lap at your pussy, the annoying fabric now out of the way.
“mmm liked you getting m-mad,” you whispered, not wanting the others to hear your confession. you knew it sounded pathetic.
jeonghan groaned into you in response. you liked him fuming over the thought of someone else fucking you better than he did? if his dick wasn’t pushing to break free from his sweats before, it sure was now.
“fuck, you’re such a slut y/n,” he slurred, now grabbing at your underwear, ripping it on each side down the seams and throwing them right across the hall into josh’s open room.
“hannie what the fuck?” you bemoaned. you’d just bought the lacy fabric the other day for him to admire, not ruin. the fact that he threw them in josh’s room couldn’t be less of a concern to you right now.
he stood up putting his hand around your neck, firmly pressing you against the door. “what?” he asked innocently, taunting you before crashing his lips back into yours. you moaned into the kiss, desperate for him to touch you again.
as if he’d read your mind, he used his free hand to pull down the waistband of his sweats, finally letting his dick breathe. he put his cock in between your legs, basically fucking your thighs. the subtle friction against your clit was enough to send you spiraling. you were over his teasing and torture.
“hannie, please,” you panted.
“please what?” he mocked, still rutting against the heat between your legs.
“please fuck me,” you whined.
it wasn’t good enough for him. “what? i’m sorry baby,” baby? “i don’t think josh can hear you.”
you were suddenly reminded of the circumstances surrounding the current situation you were in. you felt yourself turn beet red.
“remember, you can tell me to stop,” he whispered to you, noticing your complexion.
“no, no don’t stop,” you begged.
he smiled maniacally. “okay. so again, i don’t think josh could hear what you said,” his voice rising in the second half.
“please jeonghan, please fuck me. please!” you cried, knowing damn well that josh and unfortunately, everyone else could hear your desperate words.
“such a good little whore for me aren’t you?” his grip on your neck tightened, his other hand grabbing his cock, lining himself up with your entrance. you lifted your leg to give him easier access.
he pushed past your folds and you winced at the slight stretch, but you fit jeonghan like a glove. ever since the first time you guys had sex it almost felt like you were… made for each other in a way.
“you okay?” he nearly wheezed, trying to hold himself back from going completely animalistic on you in this moment. wanting to claim you as his for everyone to hear… for josh to hear.
fuck josh…
he barely let you nod your head before snapping his hips, thrusting his cock into you so fast you swear you saw stars. the squeal that escaped your throat was something of pure filth and you knew that by this point, josh had to have felt like a fucking idiot for everything he said.
jeonghan moved his hands to your thighs, hoisting you up, your back still flat against his door, his cock buried deep inside you. “i’m going to absolutely ruin you and your pretty little pussy,” he fucked himself deeper into you if that was even possible, “not even gonna be able to walk back down these stairs without my help,” he panted.
“mmmph hannie~” were your last whimpering words before he started brutally fucking himself in and out of your sopping cunt. you were a blubbering mess, whining and crying out like a bitch in heat.
“dammit y/n how are you always this t-tight,” jeonghan groaned before swallowing your sounds in a sloppy, wet kiss. his tongue desperately darted into your mouth to dance with yours and you were more than willing to let it in. your tongues danced together not so elegantly as his dick was thrusting into you with determination, his door thudding against the wall to the rhythm he’d set, and you moaning uncontrollably into his mouth.
you started to wonder what everyone downstairs was doing. especially josh.
“mmm wait wait wait hannie wait,” you put your hands on his shoulders putting enough distance between your bodies just to speak.
“i-i feel bad for everyone downstairs. should we keep doing this?” you whispered, giggling a little as the gravity of the situation really started weighing on you.
“i really don’t give a fuck about everyone downstairs.” he kissed you deeply. “unless it really makes you uncomfortable, then we’ll stop.”
“i’m not really uncomfortable just… feel bad.”
“well don’t. and remember how this all started?”
he was right.
“you’re right,” you threw your arms around his neck, attacking his lips with your own, taking control of the situation.
he let your legs down, now gripping your waist, pulling your naked body closer to him. you spun the two of you around so he was against the door. you pulled away from your kiss to lift his shirt over his head and throw it into his room. you then dropped to your knees, almost mirroring his actions from earlier. you pulled his sweats and underwear down to his ankles and he kicked them off to the side.
“fuck hannie,” you moaned, clenched around nothing as you were eye level with his cock. jeonghan could’ve came just at the sight of you gawking over his dick beneath him.
“y/n as much as i’d love to feel your mouth around me, i need to fuck you properly and i need to do it now,” he cooed cupping your face. he traced his thumb across your lip and you took it into you mouth, sucking on it like a binkie. “fuck, you’re such a fucking slut y/n,” he ripped his hand from your mouth. “on the bed. now.”
you started to stand up but he stopped you, “no, crawl.” you did exactly as you were told and crawled your way to the foot of his bed.
you could predict he’d want you on all fours, but you didn’t want to assume, so you sat on the edge of his bed waiting for further instructions.
“you know how i want you.” he was making his way toward you.
you quickly turned around on your knees and lowered yourself so your face and arms were flat on the bed and your ass was in the air.
when jeonghan got within arms length of your body, without hesitation he slapped your right ass cheek before grabbing it tightly, his left hand doing the same to the other side. you just yelped and balled up the sheets in your fists.
spreading you so wide you thought you might split, he speaks again. “there’s so much more of you that i want to explore, y/n,” he mumbled lining himself up with your aching core once again.
“s-so explore me, jeonghan,” your voice was rather shaky as you waited for his cock to be shoved into you at any moment.
“fuck baby…” baby again? you didn’t have time to process the pet name once again before jeonghan picked up where you guys had left off.
his hands were holding onto your waist for dear life as he railed you into his bed with no mercy.
“f-f-fuck hann-nie!” you cried out, every stutter on beat with his hips. a string of the most lewd whimpers, whines and groans you’ve every let fly from your mouth followed.
“uh huh, that’s r-right. how g-good do i-fuck~ fuck you huh?” he boasted.
something about jeonghan’s feral tendencies to “claim” you had you tightening around him over and over, that familiar knot forming in your tummy.
“g-god hannie i’m c-close!” you warned, gripping the sheets until your knuckles turned white.
he pulled his dick out of you instantly. you started pouting, “noooo hannie why did you-“
you heard a pop from his mouth and couldn’t help but turn your head around as far as you could. “hannie?”
“if you don’t like it, or it’s too much, what do you say?”
“‘stop’… what are you- fuck!”
jeonghan’s thumb was prodding at your other hole, barely being granted access due to it never being messed with. “too much?” he asked as the tip of his thumb slipped in.
the groan that escaped your mouth was all he needed but you tried to respond anyway, “n-no hannie~ fffuck…” your voice trailed off, the new sensation sending your body into a blissfully painful new level of pleasure.
jeonghan lined himself back up, slipping inside of you with ease at this point. the sensation of being able to feel his cock sliding in and out of you through your ass with his thumb was a feeling he didn’t know he needed. he threw his head back, slowly pulling himself out almost entirely before steadily pushing himself back into you, pushing down with his thumb to feel every inch through your gummy walls. “god dammit, y/n. you’re gonna be the death of me,” he snarled before once again picking back up to his animalistic pace from before.
you both were a moaning mess, in your own bubble of euphoria when suddenly, you were rudely interrupted by an annoyingly familiar voice.
“okay you fucking psychopaths, your point has been made. can you shut the fuck up now?!” josh yelled from down below. if you two were being honest, the moment jeonghan had you crawling across the floor to his bed, you’d forgotten all about josh and the others.
“no. you can come close the fucking door!” jeonghan yelled back trying to keep his voice steady when in reality, he could fall apart here and now. fall to his knees and cry at how amazing you were making him feel. you’re the reason he can fuck you so good. you make it impossible not to.
“god you guys are fucking obnoxious…” josh’s voice trailed off at the end of his sentence as he reached jeonghan’s door. he froze in his tracks. his drunken state didn’t really allow him to comprehend that he was going to be walking in on jeonghan absolutely wrecking you. he was just coming up to close the door, but he couldn’t stop staring.
he was snapped out of his daze when jeonghan whipped his head around, making immediate eye contact with him, not slowing down his thrusts in the slightest, completely unfazed.
“the fuck do you want?” he spat. you managed to turn your head to the side to catch a glimpse of the boy in the doorway. your vision blurry from being completely fucked out of your mind. you knew it felt wrong that he was seeing all of this, but your brain was so fuzzy you couldn’t really focus on anything else other than jeonghan.
“i- i was just closing the door,” josh managed to mutter out. as he reached for the doorknob, jeonghan spoke up again.
“no. you wanna watch so bad?” he slowly took his thumb out of you first, then his cock. you subconsciously whimpered at the sudden empty feeling. you knew you should move, knew you should adjust so you weren’t so exposed for josh to see but you couldn’t bring yourself to in your sex drunk (and still literally tipsy) state.
jeonghan, dick still out, made his way over to josh. “then come have a seat,” his tone was bitter as he grabbed him by the shoulder and walked him to his desk chair, nearly throwing him down.
“dude i don’t-“
“i dont want to hear it. you’re the one that stopped to watch so im giving you what you want, yeah?” suddenly jeonghan had dominance over everyone in the room. all josh could do was nod in response.
with the main reason for all of this absurdity now sitting in the room, jeonghan felt it was appropriate to shut the door. he did so forcefully, then made his was back over to you.
your head already being turned to your left where jeonghan’s desk was, you were looking right at josh. you quickly flipped your head the other way, embarrassed by your state. jeonghan took a fistful of your hair and slowly pulled you up so your back was flat against chest.
“i want him to watch me make you fall apart,” he whispered so gently in your ear for no one else to hear. “is that okay pretty girl?” the nickname making your tummy do flips all over again. of course that was okay. sure it would be embarrassing for the first 5 seconds, but josh pissed you off tonight more than anyone. so yes, yes of course he could be put in his place with a front row seat to the show.
“jeonghan yes,” you breathed desperately, clenching around nothing.
“good,” you wish you could see the smile on his face that you could hear when he spoke. “now, when you lay back down, turn your head back toward him so he can watch your face while i claim what’s mine.”
what’s his?
you did as you were told and when jeonghan loosened his grip on your hair, you lowered yourself back down with your face in the sheets facing joshua once again. he looked at you with a stare that was incomprehensible. was it lust? embarrassment? anger? probably all of the above, but you didn’t care. all you cared about was jeonghan filling you back up.
jeonghan started to make a snarky comment to joshua when you interrupted him.
“hannie p-please who fucking cares i need you to fuck me please please please!” you were on the brink of tears. so desperate for him, to feel his cock deep inside you again.
“oh someone’s needy hm? good girl asking so nicely.” his voice something carnal. he took barely two seconds to line himself up with your soaked, swollen, reddened and abused core.
you didn’t think he was holding back before but holy shit were you wrong. his hands were basically imbedded into your waist. his hips snapping with even more determination and vigor than before. it took no more than 20 seconds for him to get that knot forming in your tummy again.
“is this what you wanted, you fucking whore? such a whore for my cock aren’t you.” he growled. “tell me baby, has anyone ever fucked you this good?” he whined out, his own orgasm approaching.
you must’ve taken a millisecond too long to answer him because he harshly smacked your ass making you cry out in pain (in a good way of course). “answer me.”
“yes!” your voice coming out in a mix of whimpers and pure air. “no one c-can f-fuck… fuck me like you do hannie!”
“not even josh over here?”
your eyes had been shut since jeonghan started fucking you again… you forgot josh was in the room. when you opened them you were met with the sight of him shamelessly palming himself through his sweats. “especially not josh,” you managed to spit out rather clearly. it was a somewhat mean statement but the mother fucker was getting off to watching jeonghan literally prove that he can fuck you better than josh ever could’ve, so why not humiliate him a little more?
sure enough, josh groaned out in pleasure. sick.
“that’s fucking right.” jeonghan managed to pull out, flip you onto your back, and start fucking you again so fast you got dizzy. the new angle allowing him to hit a new spot, one that was bringing you closer to the edge, much faster than before.
“mmmmffff h-hannieee~” was all you could manage to get out, but he knew exactly what it meant.
“gonna make a mess all over my cock baby? hm? gonna show josh what a fucking idiot he is?” he whined once again. he moved his hand down and began rubbing circles on your clit, bringing you to your breaking point.
you turned into an illiterate wreck. somewhere laced in your desperate noises were traces of jeonghan’s name. you physically couldn’t bring yourself to unscrew your eyes to look at him. you knew he loved it when you made eye contact whenever you came undone for him, but you just couldn’t. you suddenly felt a soft hand gently grab your neck.
“i fucking love your face, y/n,” he whispered as his hips started to stutter. you managed to open your eyes to look at him right before he started to come undone himself, you still coming down from your own state of euphoria. when your eyes locked, he immediately crashed his lips into yours, his hand on your neck tightening as his hips thrusted into you one last time. you couldn’t help but clench around him when you felt his warm seed fill you up. his mouth fell open letting out a feral noise as you two lay forehead to forehead, jeonghan slowly moving himself in and out of you letting you milk his cock for all it’s worth. his hand that was around your neck moved up to cup your face instead, wiping your tears that you didn’t even realize had fallen from your eyes during all of… that.
“josh?” jeonghan’s voice was low, and he never broke eye contact with you. “get out.”
you heard josh shuffle out of the room shutting the door behind him. it was nice for it to just be the two of you again… not that you didn’t enjoy the game you two just played.
jeonghan’s eyes were piercing into yours with something different than you’d ever seen. it was a content look which you were used to but…
“i-“ he paused, scanning your eyes to see if he should even say such a foolish thing.
“you what, jeonghan?” you said delicately, running your fingers through your hair.
“i love you, y/n.” he whispered. he sunk his head down to the rook of your neck as if to hide. it was the most precious thing you’ve ever seen this boy do.
“jeonghan…” you shifted to grab his face and bring it back up to look at you. “i love you too.”
how were you two sharing the most soft, comforting moment with each other right after having sex that you felt would have the devil himself appalled?
“really?” his eyes lit up, a smile growing on his face. he showered every inch of your face in kisses as you giggled through every second of it. once he finally stopped you nodded silently with a soft smile plastered across your face.
most normal people in such a situation would be asking all sorts of questions, but you didn’t care to. you knew you guys would talk about it at the right time for both of you, that time just wasn’t now.
-
“BREAKFAST!!” mingyu yelled from the kitchen. you were barely managing to open your eyes as you heard footsteps running down the hall. for these men being well past their teenage years, you always found yourself thinking of them as boys. always so cheerful and full of energy, even first thing in the morning.
once you “came to” if you will, you realized you were being spooned by the boy that confessed his love for you last night… or early this morning. the moment he ripped you away from the table you’d lost track of all time.
you both were naked but you felt clean. you vaguely remember in your post-fucked-out state, that jeonghan had carried you to the bathroom with him to shower.
“hannie,” you spoke just above a whisper.
“hmmmmmm,” he groaned, pulling you closer to him.
“gyu just said breakfast is ready and.. i’m hungry.”
“i don’t blame you.” you could hear the smile on his face even tho your back was turned to him. his morning voice was husky, the sound of it immediately going to your core, but you were too hungry to do anything about it.
“shutup,” you giggled. “let’s get dressed.”
“ugggggh okay fine, fine.”
he let you slip out of his arms to sit on the edge of his bed before… attempting to get up. your legs were so physically weak, you couldn’t bring yourself to stand. in that moment you knew jeonghan was watching you because he bursted out laughing.
“oh i’m so sorry,” he sighed once he finished his laughing session.
“for laughing at the fact that i can’t stand? or for being the fucking reason that i can’t stand?” you jokingly scolded.
“both,” he shrugged with a smug smirk on his face before getting up and grabbing two pairs of briefs from his drawer, one for you and one for him. he put on a pair, then threw a baggy t-shirt on and called it good. “i hope you’re okay twinning with me,” he teased as he got on his knees to slide the underwear he grabbed for you onto your legs. once he got to your thighs you took over.
“i don’t mind in the slightest,” you gave him a cheeky smile. he shifted closer to you on his knees so he was between your legs, then gave you a tender kiss before he spoke again.
“good. now what shirt of mine do you want to wear, princess?”
you looked up at the ceiling, cartoonishly thinking even though you both knew what shirt you wanted to wear.
“maybe that really really baggy sweater with that ‘message of’ whatever on it?”
he gave you another kiss with a smile before moving to his closet. “message of ames it is, pretty girl.”
once he helped you put the sweatshirt on, you still sitting on the bed, he kneeled backwards in front of you so you could hop on his back.
“we were taking bets on if you two were gonna come down,” minghao deadpanned from the table, taking a bite of one of mingyu’s pancakes.
“the princess was hungry.” you lightly hit him upside the head before he carefully set you down right next to the chair he just pulled out for you. once you sat, he pushed you in.
minghao smiled at you. he spoke up once jeonghan walked into the kitchen to fetch your plates. “i’m glad he treats someone nicely.”
you two giggled together. “and i’m glad it’s me.”
“oh… something happened last night.” he paused with his forkful of hash browns in front of his face. “well, beside the obvious.”
your face grew hot. “ha, yeah you wouldn’t believe.”
“can’t wait to hear about it,” he whispered, then shoveling the hash browns into his mouth.
“hey,” jeonghan blurted setting your plate down in front of you. “you guys, where’s josh?” he asked casually as he sat with his own plate as if what happened last night just simply… didn’t happen. you could imagine he was hesitant to face you both.
but then…
“y/n! jeonghan!” josh yelled from his room. “what the fuck are these?!”
you and jeonghan slowly turned to look at each other, both wearing the words “oh fuck” on your faces without muttering a word. jeonghan shot out of his chair and ran up the stairs to save both of your asses.
you turned to your food, silently poking at a piece of your scrambled eggs. minghao leaned in close, so you turned to him. “what did he find?” he whispered.
as if on cue, mingyu ran over from the kitchen to lean his head in. you leaned close to the boys so you knew any lingering ears wouldn’t hear. “jeonghan threw my underwear in his room,” you whispered back.
minghao bursted out laughing, mingyu stood up dumbfounded. exaggerated shock displayed on his face. anyone else in the room who was trying to mind their own business was now staring.
“you guys are too fucking much,” minghao sighed while holding a smile on his face. mingyu silently kissed you on the top of your head before walking back into the kitchen.
“you have no idea,” you smiled back, taking a bite of your best friend’s homemade pancakes.

STORRS, LATE 2024
The Dallas air was thicker than Storrs, making any hair in place—out of place, even at nine pm. After starting a new season with some of her closet friends, everything had Paige back in her element—more time practicing, going out for drinks every other weekend after a win, and being in a place with some of her favorite people ever. Even with all this—the fame, the environment, the love, she still felt more trapped than ever.
She thought back to Sareli, and how frustrated she was, how much yelling there was. Sareli hated yelling.
“I’m done.”
"I can't do this shit anymore."
And Paige let her go.
PRESENT TIME. DALLAS, LATE 2026
The neon glow buzzed outside the floor-to-ceiling windows of Verena's condo, casting a pinkish hue over the sleek furniture and Paige's restless form sprawled on the couch.
Verena, long legs, pretty face, leaned against the kitchen counter, sipping a mango White Claw, her eyes fixed on Paige with an intensity that wasn't sitting right.
"You good, or you just gon' keep starin' at your phone like it's gonna tell you your future?" Verena's voice cut through the music, pulsing low from the bluetooth speaker.
Her tone was almost as if she was teasing Paige, but that edge made everything uneasy.
Paige didn't look up, her thumb hovering over Sareli's contact—never deleted, just buried.
She locked her phone and tosses it onto the cushion beside her, running a hand through her ponytail.
"I'm good, Rena. Chill."
Verena raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a smirk. "Chill? What the fuck is up with you lately, P? You missin' your lil' etch-a-sketch ex girlfriend, or what?"
Paige's jaw tightened. Verena always knew how to poke at the sore spots. It had been like this since December of 2025, Paige met Verena after losing her mind about the fall out with Sareli, and she seemed like an easy get away to escape it all.
They were just two people killing time, being at the same place, at the same time. A house party to celebrate a win against the Lynx, and she was mutuals with Dijonai, giving Paige easy access to get to know her.
Verena was a clothing brand model, super confident and witty, with a laugh that made Paige's stomach flip—and forget everything.
One night of too many shots, and they somehow ended up in Verena's bed, the breeze from outside creeping through her balcony door. It was supposed to be a one-time thing—something to help Paige forget. Fun. Easy.
But Verena had a way of pulling Paige back in—her touch, her smile, the way she seemed to match Paige's energy with no problem at all.
"Don't start, Rena," Paige said, sitting up, her voice low, but extremely serious. Sareli was off limits.
She adjusted the gold chain around her neck, a gift from Sareli a couple Christmas’s ago, the one she hadn't taken off. But Verena didn't know that.
"Ain't nobody thinkin' 'bout Sareli right now. And I told you quit bringin' her up."
Verena snorted, setting her drink down with a clink. "Yous a lie. You been acting funny since the party. In May."
"You mad she done moved on? Posted up with her best friend now? What's her name? Kacey? Kenzie?"
"Kameron. And it's not like that at all with them. And what? You stalkin' her shit now?" Paige says.
"Not stalkin' if it's public, babe," Verena shot back, putting a piece of hair behind her ear. She stepped closer, her slippers scuffing the dark hardwood floors, one of Paige's oversized Dallas tees slipping off one shoulder. "You're the one who can't stop checkin' for her. I see everything, Paige. Don't think I'm stupid."
Paige stood, her six one frame towering slightly over Verena, though she held her ground, more unbothered than anything else. There was always tension between them—it felt normal. They weren't together, just a call away when someone couldn't finish. But Verena was controlling, always made a way to make everything involve her.
"I ain't playin' you, dude," Paige said, crossing her arms. "We said what this was from the jump. You tryna switch it up now?"
Verena's smirk faded, her brown eyes hardening. "Switch it up, Paige? Paige, you're the one switchin' it up. You're here, but you ain't here. You're in my bed, but you thinkin' about her. Eating my food, buying me shit, but you're still hers."
"That's some foul shit."
Paige's chest tightened like crazy. Verena wasn't wrong, but hearing it out loud stung. She paced toward the window, the city lights blurring into streaks of pink and blue. "You knew what this shit was, Rena—Jesus. I never lied to you. We was just chillin'."
"Chillin'?" Verena's laugh was sharp, almost bitter. She followed Paige, stopping just short of touching her. "Chillin' don't look like you spendin' every other night here. Chillin' don't look like you holdin' me after, talkin' 'bout me being 'different'."
"Don't gas me up like I'm stupid."
Paige turned, her face a mix of frustration and all sorts of guilt.
"I never said you was stupid. You're not. You're cool as hell, Verena. But I told you I wasn't tryna lock nothin' down right now. You said you was cool with that."
"Yeah, I was," Verena admitted. "Till' you started acting like you wanted more, too. Don't front like you don't feel it. That night at the pier? When we went to that food truck and you told me all about your career? That wasn't just 'chillin'', Paige. That seemed real to me."
Paige's mind wandered to that night. It had been a good night too—almost too good. They both walked along the pier, that salty air mixed with their conversation.
They shared a blunt, and ended up kissing under a flickering streetlight, almost as if it meant something. But Paige pushed that feeling down, buried it under thoughts of Sareli—her smile, her voice, the way she always called Paige "mi amor" when they were good.
"I never meant to make you feel like I was playin' you," Paige said, her voice quieter now. "I just... can't do this for real right now. Not with nobody."
Verena stepped closer, her hand brushing Paige's arm, her touch so warm, yet so cautious. "Why not? 'Cause of her? Paige, she's out here livin' her life. She's not sitting around waiting for you."
Paige flinched, pulling away. "You don't know shit about what Sareli's doin' or feeling."
"I know she's not here," Verena snapped, her patience fraying. "I know she's not the one makin' you laugh, cookin' you food, fuckin' you like I do. You wanna keep it a buck?"
"I'm right here, Paige. I'm sitting here giving you everything, and you're still chasing a ghost.
The words hit like a slap to the face. Paige's eyes flashed, and she stepped into Verena's space, her voice rising.
"I didn't ask you to do all that shit in the first place."
"You don't get to talk about her like that. You didn't know shit about what we had. Sareli's not a ghost. She's..." Paige stopped, her breath catching.
She didn't know how to finish that sentence.
Sareli was everything—a best friend, a lover, a teacher, someone who'd seen Paige at her lowest and still stayed. But Sareli was the one who walked away, tired of Paige's excuses, tired of waiting for her to grow up.
Verena's expression was soft, but only for a moment. "You can't keep doin' this, Paige. You can't keep me on a leash while you figure out if you're still in love with her. That's not fair."
"I'm not tryna keep you on no leash," Paige shot back, her voice thick with frustration. "I told you from the jump, Rena. I'm fucked up right now. My head's not straight. You said you was cool with that."
"I lied!" Verena shouted, her hands flying up. The room went quiet, the music in the background fading to the next song. Verena's chest heaved, her eyes glossy. "I lied, alright? I thought I could handle it, just messin' around, keepin' it light. But I'm catching feelings, Paige. And you're makin' it real hard to keep pretending I'm not."
Paige froze, her heart pounding out of her chest. She hadn't expected this from Verena—the chill, laid back girl who always seemed in control, admitted she was falling.
Paige's mind flashed to their last hookup, two nights ago. Verena had been different that night—slower, more deliberate, her hands lingering on Paige's skin like she was memorizing her.
They'd been sprawled across Verena's bed, the sheets a mess, the room smelling of coconut oil and weed. Verena had whispered Paige's name like she was saying her prayers, and there was shift, but no one was ready to put a name on it.
Paige had left at dawn, blaming an early workout, but really, she was running away from that feeling.
"Rena... I," Paige started, but the words died. She didn't know what to say. She cared about Verena—more than she wanted to admit—but Sareli was still there, a shadow in every corner of her heart.
Verena shook her head, stepping back. "Don't. Don't say some half-ass shit to make me feel better. I'm not her, Paige. I'm not gonna beg you to choose me. But I'm also not gonna keep bein' your rebound while you figure out what you want."
Paige's stomach twisted. "You're not a rebound, Rena. That's not what this is."
"Then what is it?" Verena's voice cracked, her hands balling into fists. "Tell me, Paige. What am I to you? 'Cause you got me lookin' like a fool, fallin' for somebody who's half in, half out."
Paige opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She wanted to say something real, something that would fix this, but all she could think about was Sareli's face, her voice, the way she met her family down in San Juan, giving her heart eyes the entire time.
"I don't know," Paige admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can't do this with you, Verena."
Verena let out a shaky laugh, wiping at her eyes. "Wow. That's real. At least you're keepin' it a buck with me now, right? Nice." She turned, grabbing her White Claw and taking a long sip, her back to Paige.
"You need to figure your shit out, Paige. 'Cause I'm not doin' this no more."
The words hung heavy. Paige wanted to reach out, to pull Verena back, and say something that would make this whole thing right. But she didn't move. She just stood there, her hands shoved in her pockets, the gold chain around her neck feeling heavier than ever.
"Rena, I'm sorry," Paige said finally, her voice raw. "I didn't mean to hurt you, thought we was thinkin' the same."
"Sorry don't fix this," she said. "You need to go, Paige. For real."
Paige nodded slowly, her throat tight. She grabbed her phone, her keys, and her hoodie off the couch. As she headed for the door, she paused, looking back at Verena, who was staring out the window now, her silhouette sharp against the neon glow inside.
"Somebody out there is ready for you, Rena." Paige said quietly. "I mean that."
Verena didn't turn around. "Yeah, I know. Too bad you're too fucked up to be that person, yeah?"
The door clicked shut behind Paige, the sound echoing in her chest. She stood in the hallway, the fluorescent lights buzzing overhead, her phone feeling heavy in her hand.
She pulled it out, going back to the voicemail she sent to Sareli.
She was drunk, sure. But those words were real. It had been a while, but she really needed Sareli.
That girl was her rock, and she lost her, just like that.
Sareli put up with so much, all the bullshit Paige put on her, all the nights where their hearts laid heavy on the pillows they laid their heads on.
It was time, Paige had to meet Sareli halfway.
Maybe even further.

are you wearing my merch?!
Tumblr media
synopsis: they walk in on you trying their volleyball merch but you guys haven't confessed...yet(?)
featuring: atsumu, akaashi and matsukawa
Tumblr media
ATSUMU:
he ended up walking in on you trying on their merch. "Y/N?!" his loud yell startled you and your quick to cover your atsumu miya headband. "is that...my merch?" he says incredulously. you consider denying it but his eyes are fixed on the font of his name on your shirt. oh no...you forgot to cover that too. "yeah." your embarrassed that he found out you were interested in him this way. but him on the other hand, his jaw is still on the floor, everything and nothing running through his mind. you? wearing his merch? he dreamed of this moment, in fact he was already planning to ask you to cheer for his team, cheer for him but did you think about him too? you started to unravel the headband. "noooo, don't take it off!!!!" he takes it from your hands, shifting your hair, concentrating as he tried to retie it. you find his struggling rather cute, trying to stand still as he fumbles with the knot. "you better wear this at my next match...I'll look for you in the crowd, you hear me?" "theres no way you'll find me with all those fans." you laugh, but he's serious. "i'll have you know, I have great eyesight! theres no way i would miss your cute smile and your cheering!" "he's right." osamu adds and you two jump at the sight of him leaning against the doorway. "theres no way he doesn't know all the details of your face with all the staring he does." "'SAMU!!!!" he sticks his tongue out at his brother who is swinging at him. it wasn't osamu's fault that atsumu has chickened out on confessing to you for what has been the 10th time. at the rate atsumu was moving you would be old and wrinkly before he even got to confess his feelings. "well" the twins still, both anxiously awaiting your response "I think its only fair that you owe me a date if i have to wear your merch don't you think?" they had a practice match to get to unfortunately and so you couldn't keep them for long. "a date?! wait...you like me back?? 'samu!!!! oh my god she likes me back!!" "I heard her the first time, dumbass." "wheres my phone!! i've got to resave your phone number as girlfriend!!!" "here we go..." osamu drags his whining brother away, you know how kita gets when they're late.
AKAASHI
he's apologetic, with the way your hands freeze gripping the shirt around your body its clear that you were changing. "oh, sorry about that. I'll close the door." he's quick to step backwards, already closing the door. "wait!" you panic. how are you supposed to explain the fukurodani headband and worse, the go akaashi go t-shirt you were sporting. did he think it was weird? did it make him uncomfortable? he paused, poking his head in. now he's got a better look at you, finally making out the lettering of the headband and his name on your chest. "is that for me?" he asks the obvious, was there another akaashi you knew of? the fukurodani headband makes him see logic. "that is for me." he corrects himself, inviting himself inside. up until now hes been pining for you, and even the team knew it with how much he accidentally brought you up or the way his eyes would wander to you. he spots another go akaashi ribbon, proving it wasn't an accident. you follow his eyes, laughing sheepishly at the display. "yeah...i told my friend that i thought your setting was cool and she got me all this merch." he smiles at the compliment "you should wear that at the match, it'll make my setting even better" he suggests, giddy at the idea of you in his merch and your cute laugh at his suggestion. "actually..." he gets an idea, slipping off his freshly washed jersey. you yelp as he pulls it over his head, a peek at his muscles and now ruffled dark locks of hair. he holds it out to you. "would you rather try on the real deal?" you try it on, posing in front of the mirror. "it suits you more than me" he admits, slapping a hand over his mouth at the accidental revelation. "maybe i should wear it more often then?" he blushes "maybe."
MATSUKAWA
matsukawa is too smug when he sees you walk out of the volleyball unofficially official 'fanroom', sporting a shirt with not oikawa's name, not iwaizumi's either but his name. he doesn't remember if he had even bids his teamates goodbye before rushing over. "nice shirt you've got there y/n." you flinch, your hands going up to cover the lettering. "what do you mean? this is a regular shirt." obviously no one is convinced, and your bothered by how cute you find his toothy grin and the lift of his eyebrows at your embarassment, he wants to push your buttons even further, "so you're saying that you didn't look for a shirt with my name on it specifically?" every time you turn away from him he comes closer, prying your hands from his face. "yeah, they ran out of oikawa shirts." you lie. you don't miss the way his smile drops and the disappointed slump of his shoulders. "did they really? were lying to make me feel better?" "No!! I...I lied, I was fighting for my life to get my hands on this. you have quite a lot of fans of your own actually." you wince at the memory, rubbing your shoulders that many people were bumping to get the merch. you almost wish you stood on the lie because why was he giving the cheshire cat a run for its money? "Oh? it sounds like you've got competition" "don't make me go back and return the shirt" "fine, fine." he gives in, struggling to keep his hands to himself. "wear that at our next match please." "whats in it for me?" he ponders for a moment, "would a fan be interested in...a date?" "deal." "...wait....wait a second?! WHAT!!! Y/N???" "don't be late." "HELLO?! IS THIS A CONFESSION?!"

Please I’m begging u could you write Chris x reader when reader gets wisdom teeth out. Pet names only baby
WISDOM TEETH - c.sturniolo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-
“todays video is gonna be a bit different guys.” chris spoke into the camera before turning it to you, revealing you leaning on the kitchen counter. “y/n’s gonna get her wisdom teeth out!” your head quickly shifted towards the mention of ‘wisdom teeth’, unfortunately being reminded of what will be your reality in a matter of moments.
“chris stop, she’s literally fearing for her life right now.” nick said while laughing. “don’t worry y/n, its not that bad.” he said while patting your shoulder.
“i dont think i wanna go anymore.” you said quickly as you remembered how much pain nick was in while he was recovering.
“it’s gonna be alright baby, we’ll be right there.” chris reassures as he wrapped his shoulder around you, still holding the camera.
it took some convincing, and maybe some bribery from your boyfriend to get you food after the procedure, to finally convince you to get in the car and go through with getting your teeth pulled out. you had been in pain for a long time, complaining about the pain the teeth were causing you.
chris knew this and knew the best thing for you was to get them out. now you all were packed in the car with matt and chris in the front, while you and nick were in the back.
occasionally chris would reach behind his chair and allow you to hold his hand for some time. he knew as you were trying to appear calm and collected, your mind was actually racing.
but that feeling would only intensify as matt pulled into the parking lot of the dentist office. you did all the regulations upon entering the building, signing in, and waiting.
before you knew it you were in the chair, about to get those teeth pulled out.
“promise, you’ll stay?” you turned over to chris, watching him with pleading eyes as he grasped your hand in his.
“promise.”
timeskip
a couple of hours passed and you were finally off of the operating table. drowsy and unaware of where you were.
“where..where am i?” you spoke. you realized there was a strange feeling in your mouth. “waths in my mouf?!” you quickly tried to take out whatever it was from your mouth before chris stopped you.
“y/n, you need those in there baby.”
confusion took over for the rest of the day as your boyfriend completed the rest of the paper work and walked you out to the car where matt and nick were waiting.
“sooo..how’d it go?” nick asked amused as he saw your state. “nick, sit in the front i wanna sit with y/n.” chris said as he opened your side of the car door. you almost face planted as you got in but nick was quick to balance you before moving to the front seat.
chris didn’t feel like filming on the way back home since he’s sure you would kill him if he ever uploaded a video of you in this state. blabbering on and on about nothing that made sense while also questioning everything and anything.
“chrissy…why are there three of you.” you pouted before poking your boyfriend’s face, the reaching to poke matt and nick’s face as well. matt swatted your hand away and scolded you since he’s driving.
“why are you yelling at me?” you frowned at matt who you thought was chris before saying, “im breaking up with you!”
chris could only laugh at your antics causing his brothers to join in as well.
“y/n that’s matt.” he softly said while caressing your shoulder.
you made an ‘o’ shape with your mouth in realization, and muttered and apology to matt for threatening him.
you all made it back home, with chris carrying you to your shared room. as soon as he set you down on the bed it was lights out for you. immediately falling asleep in your boyfriend’s bed. he smiled as he moved his face in front of yours, softly giving you a kiss on the forehead, trying not to wake you up.
“i love you, y/n.” chris whispered, to which he got a snore in response. but thats all he needed. he knew you loved him just as much.
-
a/n: sorry i didnt know how to end it but i hope you enjoyed!

Word Count: ~0.8k
Vibe: Golden hour, pizza grease, stolen glances, tired giggles, “wait… do I know you?”
Tumblr media
The pizza shop was loud. Kids yelling, old Italian men arguing in the back, and your friend on her fifth rant about how you never go out anymore like you weren’t in the middle of barely surviving year two of med school.
You were half-listening, hoodie on, hair in a claw clip that had seen better days, a notebook in your lap as you poked at a lukewarm slice of pepperoni.
Then the door chimed.
You didn’t look up at first. Not until someone slid into the seat one table over—gray sweats, fitted tee, a Liberty cap pulled low. She looked casual. Clean. Slightly flushed, like she’d just come from a workout. Or a game. Or both.
She caught you glancing.
“What?” she asked, smirking, voice low.
You blinked. “Nothing. Just… you walked in like you own the place.”
She laughed. “Maybe I do.”
“Okay,” you grinned, sipping your drink. “Little cocky for someone eating alone.”
“Little cocky for someone talking to a stranger mid-bite,” she shot back.
Touché.
There was a beat of quiet. Then she nodded at your open book.
“Med?”
You groaned. “Unfortunately.”
“That why you look like you’re two seconds from snapping?”
“I’m two seconds past snapping,” you corrected. “I’m just running on fumes and mozzarella now.”
She snorted. “You’re funny.”
You looked up at her again. Fully this time. She had that something—calm confidence, nice lips, sharp cheekbones, eyes that held your gaze longer than normal people do. There was something… familiar about her too. Like you’d seen her somewhere before.
Before you could piece it together, your friend returned—two slices in hand, ready to drag you back into chaos. But she froze halfway through sitting down.
“Hey, Y/N… they have—wait. Wait wait wait. Yo wtf.” She pointed like she’d seen a ghost. “That’s Sabrina Ionescu. That’s literally Sabrina Ionescu. You’re just talking to Sabrina Ionescu? And didn’t tell me?!”
Your jaw dropped slightly, eyebrows raised as you slowly turned back to her. She just chuckled, biting her lip and ducking her head a little.
“…I’m gonna take a wild guess here,” you said slowly. “Your name’s Sabrina Ionescu?”
She looked up, grin lazy, like she was enjoying this way too much. “Guilty.”
You just blinked. Then shrugged. “Cool. So, you want my last mozzarella stick or not?”
Sabrina blinked.
Then laughed. Like really laughed.
That was the moment. You didn’t know it, but she did. Right there between the crust crumbs and your raspy, sleep-deprived voice—that was the moment she knew she was in trouble.
Tumblr media
Your friend was still standing. Still pointing. Still doing that thing where she whispered but way too loud for it to count as a whisper.
“You were just talking to Sabrina Ionescu like she’s not literally her. Like just chatting. Like that’s not the cover of Slam magazine right there. Girl.”
You dropped your slice.
“Would you sit down?” you hissed. “You’re like a bad kid in Target. Making a scene for no reason.”
She blinked at you, offended. “Target? Really?”
“Sit. Down.
Sabrina? Just watching the whole thing, chewing slowly, eyebrows raised, completely entertained.
“She’s fun,” she commented, nodding toward your friend.
You groaned, elbow on the table, head in hand. “She’s loud.”
“I heard that.”
“I meant for you to.”
Sabrina grinned. She leaned a little closer like she was about to say something casual. Like she didn’t already know how this was about to go down.
“I’ll take a picture with your friend,” she said, eyes locked on yours, “if I get your number.”
Your friend—who was mid-chew—froze.
Then she turned to you so fast her hair whipped across your shoulder. “Hoe you better give her your number. Don’t play. Do not play.”
You closed your eyes. Took a breath. Let it out slow like you were summoning the strength of your ancestors.
“Shut up,” you muttered, already pulling your phone out. “God.”
Sabrina tilted her head, grinning. “Is that a yes?”
You slid your phone across the table. Didn’t look up. “Just take it before I change my mind.”
“Don’t let her fool you,” your friend added, now sitting proper like this was a press conference. “She’s gonna stare at your number like it’s a caffeine drip. Med girl is down bad and just pretending she’s not.”
“Do you want your picture or not?”
“Okay! Okay! Damn.”
Sabrina took the phone. Typed slow. Deliberate. Name, number, and a little basketball emoji. Bold. But she was smiling like she had nothing to lose.
“Here,” she said, handing it back. “Now we both got something.”
You locked the screen without even glancing.
“Cool,” you said.
But Sabrina saw the smile fighting its way into your cheek.
Later that night. Your phone buzzed.
Sabrina 🏀: “You free tomorrow or still beefing with midterms?”
You answered after three minutes.
You: “Midterms, always. But I could maybe make space for pizza.”
Sabrina 🏀: “Damn. Pizza girl status. I’ll take it.”

I think for a name you could maybe do like “Unexpected”
but also, did she ever give azzi her legos😭😭
do you think you could write a cute fic of that and they have a lil Lego building session like they did that one live
Spaceship of Promises
—————— Hiii this is for all the fluff requests!
also thank you to @ldapper for the amazing editing like insane 🫶
Tw: none just fluff!
—————— Azzi!” Paige shouted from across the living room of the team’s suite, her voice cutting through the quiet.
No response.
“Azzi!” She yelled louder this time.
Finally, she could hear one of the suite doors swing open, followed by the soft patter of footsteps—certainly those of a 5 '11, curly-haired brunette. Sure enough, Azzi appeared a moment later
She was wearing a pink button-up pajama shirt and shorts covered in Stewie’s face, fluffy pink slippers, and her curls spilling out of a messy bun. Paige’s gaze and breath lingered for a moment as the top button of Azzi’s shirt hung open, revealing the soft skin of her clavicle.
“Yanna’s sleeping you’re gonna wake her up. What do you want?” Azzi teased, coming to sit on the couch behind Paige. She ran her fingers through her hair gently.
The blonde was on the floor, hunched over the coffee table, which was covered in a sea of tiny Legos. Paige leaned her head against Azzi and pouted. “Help me,” she whined, leaning back down to try and assemble another piece.
Azzi chuckled as she sank down beside Paige, watching her with amusement. Her tongue poked out slightly in concentration as she matched the pieces to the image on the box.
“I swear to god, I’ve built this thing three times and it still don’t look right,” Paige sighed, tearing apart the pieces she had just assembled.
“Okay, well where are the instructions?” Azzi asked, grabbing the box and shaking it. When nothing fell out, she raised an eyebrow in disbelief. “Don't tell me you were planning on free-handing this,” she laughed, playfully shoving her girlfriend’s shoulder.
Paige shrugged, a hint of embarrassment creeping into her cheeks. “I could have figured it out eventually.”
Azzi rolled her eyes, standing up and stretching. Her shirt rode up a little, showing off her toned stomach. “Paige, come on. What did you do with the instructions?”
“I threw them away. Don’t need ‘em,” Paige said confidently.
Azzi just sighed and walked over to the trash can, pulling the crumpled paper out from the top. As she sat back down, she slid on her glasses, sorting through the instructions to find the right step.
“Okay, so this piece goes… here,” she muttered, holding up a tiny brick.
Next to her, Paige had flopped down on her stomach, propping her chin on her hand while the other rummaged through the pile of Legos. “Are you sure this one goes next? I swear it looks like we need the other… thingy,” she said, gesturing vaguely.
Azzi glanced at her with mock disbelief. “Thingy? You mean the corner tile? We’re following the instructions, Paige. No improvising. No wonder you haven’t gotten anywhere.”
Paige grinned mischievously and held up a bright pink Lego piece. “But wouldn’t it be cute if our spaceship had a ‘lil pop of pink here?”
Azzi sighed dramatically but couldn’t help smiling. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet, you love me,” Paige teased, nudging Azzi’s shoulder with her own.
“Yeah, yeah,” Azzi replied softly, her voice almost wistful. “But you asked for my help,” she said sternly. “So if we’re doing this , it has to be right.” She wagged a finger in Paige’s face.
Paige sat up and shoved it away. “Whatever,” she laughed. But she grabbed the instructions anyway and began sorting through the pile to find the correct piece.
An hour later, Paige leaned back against the couch, admiring their progress. “You know, we’re actually pretty good at this.”
Paige smirked, holding up another pink piece and slipping it onto the spaceship in the almost absurd place.
Azzi laughed, shaking her head. “We? You would’ve still been stuck if I hadn’t pulled the instructions out of the trash,” she said, pushing Paige’s hand away and snapping the piece into its correct spot.
The coffee table was a chaotic scene’’Legos scattered across the rug, some kicked under the couch, and a few tucked away in Paige’s sweatshirt pocket (“for safekeeping,” she insisted).
Azzi leaned over to grab another brick when she felt a soft weight settle against her shoulder. Paige had flopped sideways, resting her head on Azzi with a contented sigh.
“Hey,” Azzi said, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably. “You’re slowing down the whole process. I know damn well you didn’t ask me to come help you while you just nap.”
Paige smiled lazily. “The spaceship can wait five minutes. You’re warm.”
Azzi rolled her eyes, but a tiny blush crept across her cheeks. She nudged Paige’s head with her shoulder. “If you’re not gonna help, I’m gonna put you on sorting duty.”
Paige gasped, dramatically sitting up and grabbing at her chest.  “Sorting duty? That's all I’m good for? C’mon, you love when I’m unpredictable.”
“You mean unhelpful?” Azzi teased, her lips curving into a smirk.
“I am helpful,” Paige shot back, grabbing a handful of pieces and sorting them into neat piles to prove a point. “I could totally do this if I wanted to.”
“Oh, yeah?” Azzi challenged, raising an eyebrow. “Then what piece comes next, Miss Helpful?”
Paige squinted at the instructions as if it were written in a foreign language. “Uh… this one?” She held up a long white piece.
Azzi snorted. “That’s for the cockpit. We’re building the engine, Paige.”
Paige groaned dramatically, falling back onto the rug. “I genuinely don’t understand why it matters they all look the same.”
Azzi didn’t respond right away. Instead she grabbed the white piece paige had held up and gently placed it on the table in front of her.
“Okay,” she said after a moment. “We’ll put a little pink in the cockpit. Just for you.”
Paige sat up, her eyes lighting up. “You’re giving in to my creative vision?”
Azzi shook her head, smiling. “No, I’m compromising. There’s a difference.”
Paige leaned in, so close that Azzi could feel her warm breath. “It’s because you love me,” Paige said with a smirk.
Azzi felt her cheeks heat up, but she met Paige’s gaze. “Yeah,” she admitted, her voice quieter. “I do.”
For a second, the spaceship was forgotten as Paige kissed her. Their lips melted together in something that felt simple but meaningful. When they pulled apart, Paige rested her forehead against Azzi’s.
“Even if I don’t wanna use the instructions?” Paige whispered, a teasing.
“Even then,” Azzi said with a laugh. “But only because you’re cute.”
The moment lingered, warm and quiet, until Paige pulled away, grinning mischievously. “Good thing. I may or may not have hidden another pink piece in the engine already.”
Azzi gasped, feigning betrayal. “Paige!”
Paige scrambled to her feet, laughing as Azzi lunged at her. “It was for the aesthetic, trust!” she cried, dodging around the coffee table.
“You didn’t even want my help. You just wanted to annoy me!” Azzi called after her, though she couldn’t keep the laughter out of her voice.
They ended up in a tangled heap on the couch, Paige’s arms wrapped around Azzi’s waist as they both dissolved into giggles.
“Okay,” Azzi said, catching her breath. “Truce. You can keep the pink engine piece. But no more sabotage.”
Paige gave her a mock salute. “Yes, ma’am. No more sabotage.” Then, with a devilish grin, she added, “Unless it’s really funny.”
Azzi shook her head but snuggled into Paige’s side, her head resting on her shoulder. They stayed like that for a while, the silence of the night settling around them.
Finally, Paige nudged the half-built spaceship with her toe. “I think we built something pretty cool,” she said softly.
When there was no response, she leaned back, peering down at Azzi’s face. Her eyes were closed and her breathing had evened out.
Paige smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face before kissing her forehead softly.

Lavender's Blue, Dilly Dilly (c.b. x fem!reader)
Tumblr media
pairing: colin bridgerton x fem!reader
word count: 1.9k
warnings: none? but let me know if i missed any!
a/n: Ah! the first of my "if i was a girl in a book" series is here with sound of music meets colin bridgerton! there will definitely be more parts to this (at least i think there will) but i wanted to introduce the idea of the series with this part first! hope you enjoy, let me know what you think! pt 2
The Bridgerton house is terrifying. Not necessarily the contents of the building, though you can not exactly speak for that as you had not entered the house yet, but the actual building is terrifying. It is beautiful and warm and spectacular and terrifying. You take a deep breath and close your eyes before marching up the front steps, placing your two bags down on either side of you, and knocking on the door. It takes approximately two seconds for the doors to open and expose the wide foyer and many footmen seemingly standing around waiting for your arrival. What ensues is the most awkward staring contest of your life; the man who opened the door stares seemingly into your soul, the blankest of stares on his face.
“Good morning, my name is Y/N and I am here to see Lady Violet Bridgerton,” you finally break the silence, hoping he will stop staring at you if you say something regarding your presence.
With his arms stuck to his sides and his neck turning only when his body does, the footman marches down the hall and announces your presence in the doorway. The shuffling of many feet against wood and carpet sound soon after, and you are greeted by two little heads staring from the doorframe. You wave delicately, readjusting the bag you had yet to put down in your clenched fist before deciding to put everything down in hopes of looking more welcoming and open.
“Ah, Miss Y/N, what a pleasure it is to have you!” An older woman in a beautiful periwinkle dress makes her way over to you. Looking down quickly at your brown frock, you push any insecurity out of your mind before sticking your hand out to shake. “Oh no, we’re a hugging household if you don’t mind,” Violet interjects your inner monologue. “Oh, not at all,” you put your arm down and let her initiate the hug, feeling both increasingly awkward and welcome at the same time.
“Your timing is impeccable, as all my children actually happen to be in the same place at the same time,” the woman laughs. So this is Lady Bridgerton.
“Well, when one has a home this exquisite, I would be partial to staying here as much as possible,” you compliment.
“I have a feeling we shall get along quite well Miss Y/N,” Lady Bridgerton smiles at you, and you feel like you have gained a victory, if not a very small one. “Children! Come greet our guest!” Oh. You are going to meet all the children right now. Splendid.
A cluster of frenzied bodies makes their way out into the foyer, the two younger ones that poked their heads at you earlier leading the charge. They soon formed a line, appearing oldest to youngest– though you could not confirm– and you hold back a laugh as the two littlest ones battle it out for a spot in the lineup.
“Gregory! Hyacinth! Stop that at once, we do not want to be confusing your new governess on her first day,” the oldest–or at least the first in line– yells while leaning over the back of the line.
“Apologies, they are not always like this,” Lady Bridgerton comments to you, standing by your side and looking disappointedly at her children.
“Mother, do not lie,” the second in line crosses his arms over his chest as the third suppresses a chuckle with a cough. You try not to laugh along with him, and he catches your shared moment, smiling at you while rolling his shoulders back and tucking his arms behind him.
“Well, I believe it is time that you should all introduce yourselves,” Lady Bridgerton waves her arm down the line in demonstration.
“I am Anthony, the oldest and the head of the household,” Anthony starts, stepping forward slightly then stepping back like a soldier.
“Very pleased to meet you,” you nod, smiling lightly.
“I am Benedict, second oldest,” he goes to readjust his vest and you notice the charcoal marks under his nails and the paint on his thumbs.
“An artist too I see,” you comment, and his eyebrows raise in amusement and confusion. “Your hands give you away,” you explain, nodding to the signs you gathered. His mouth forms a silent ‘ah’ before tucking his hands behind his back.
“Colin,” the third one nods at you with a sly smile on his face, “third, one and twenty, and without need of a governess”.
“Though some may beg to differ,” one of the girls further down the line pipes up, causing the two youngest to giggle under their breath.
“Well, I am sure we will get to know each other well on adult terms then,” you nod, trying to keep the situation light.
The girls keep the line going, Lady Bridgerton informing you that Daphne, the oldest daughter, was to debut this year and that while you would mainly be watching over the smallest two children, it would be much appreciated if you were to aid the girls in their more accomplished skills as well.
“It would be a delight ma’am,” you smile, and when Lady Bridgerton announces that you will need to be shown to your room, Gregory and Hyacinth (whose names you now have committed to memory) are quick to grab a hand on either side of you and drag you up the stairs. Eagerly waiting to get to know their new companion better, you are left to wave a hasty goodbye to the rest of the family as you nearly trip over the initial stair for the children are oh so speedy.
The first night finds you unable to sleep. The space is unfamiliar and the job so incredibly daunting. Though you have faith that you can achieve what you set out to do, it does not make the prospect of having to live with eight children, one mother, and who knows how many staff any less immeasurable. When the Bridgerton family had written to the greater community that they were in search of a new governess, you had never imagined that they would select you, but you were of course more than grateful. Coming from humble beginnings yourself, the cavernous environment and the sheer amount of people in it were enough to spike your anxiety. After tossing on your side for the 100th time, you finally strike a match, lighting the candle on your bedside table and grabbing your diary from beside it. Writing letters to family and friends had become a habit of yours when you could not sleep, which you are not eager to admit happens frequently. You begin writing a letter to your mother, the words spilling out of you as the ink bleeds through the page and onto your hands. Paying no mind to anything other than writing, you are shaken out of your mental tunnel with a quick knock on your door.
“Yes?” You call through, quickly shoving your diary under your pillow.
The door opens hesitantly, and Colin peeks his head through the frame. “My apologies, I saw the light under the door on my way down the hall and feared someone had left it burning in their sleep”.
“Oh,” you laugh awkwardly, “do not fret Mr. Bridgerton, it was merely me”.
“Were you unable to sleep?”
“Yes, but not to worry, it was merely,” you pause and realise there is rain tapping at your window, “the storm”.
“Ah. I know a few of my younger siblings are unable to sleep during storms as well,” he nods in understanding.
As if responding to a cue, Hyacinth runs up to the door and Colin opens it wider. Her creased forehead and pouted lips are enough for you to open your arms, sending her flying onto your bed. She ducks her head into your pillows, covering her ears further as thunder claps outside your window. You rub your hand along her back, looking between her and Colin who still stands at your door.
“My dear, did the storm frighten you?” It feels like an obvious question, but one must cover all bases when dealing with new children. Lest you forget when, two families ago, one of the middle children was not scared of the storm, but of the fact that his older brother was chasing him down the hallway with a fish head. How they had even come across such a thing you will never know. Hyacinth nods her head and you pat the space next to you, whispering quiet shushing sounds in her ear as you hear another set of feet approaching your door. Colin looks down the hall as Gregory comes to join the party.
“Were you scared as well darling?” You ask, scooting your legs to the farthest edge of your bed to make more room.
“No! I wasn’t scared…I was merely coming to check on Hyacinth,” he sounds unconvinced. You nod in agreement, muttering ‘of course’ to save him his image of masculinity when another round of thunder rolls through. That masculine facade is quick to fall as Gregory runs up onto your bed, taking up the space behind Hyacinth. Colin chuckles and you send him a death glare to avoid him making fun of his siblings.
“Now now, the storm cannot hurt us inside. We have light, and windows from which to watch the storm pass if we so choose,” you try reassuring them, but it seems to do little good as the children keep in their tucked positions.
There is suddenly a fourth Bridgerton entering your room when Francesca makes her way in, her head down in fear and shame. You open your arms wider, allowing her a safe space in which to take refuge, and she joins the cluster of Bridgertons on your bed. “Couldn’t sleep,” she mutters before wrapping her arms around Gregory.
“You know what always makes me feel better in times like these?” You look between the three closest to you. None of them give a verbal answer, but Hyacinth raises her head from the pillows, looking at you with the saddest eyes known to man. “My mother used to sing to me when I was scared of the storms. Would you like a song?” Francesca is the first to nod, then Hyacinth. Gregory is last, first trying to keep a tough illusion but quickly dropping it when lighting flashes into view from your window.
“Lavender’s blue dilly dilly, lavender’s green. When I am queen dilly dilly, you shall be king,” you begin. When you aren’t watching, Colin closes your bedroom door, leaning against the closest wall. “Who told you so, dilly dilly, who told you so? Twas my own heart dilly dilly, that told me so”. He hadn’t been expecting much when his mother informed the family of the new governess that was to join them, in fact he had rather been irritated by the idea. The youngest children always found a way to scare them off and it seemed like a waste of time and money in his opinion, but his mind is slowly being changed. Watching you interact with his siblings in such a kind a heartfelt manner, especially with it being less than 24 hours since your arrival stirs something within him. He does not quite have a name for it yet, but there is something compelling him to stay in place rather than walking the few extra steps to his room.
Perhaps he could get used to having a new member of the household.

soft spot
damon salvatore x reader
summary; you're injured in a fight with a rogue vampire who breezed into town, and Damon is being weird about it
hurt/comfort
----
You tried to stay hidden in the shadows outside of the streetlight, but your rapid heartbeat probably would've given you away either way.
"Who the hell is this guy?" You heard Damon mutter from the spot he was tossed just a few feet away from you, dusting the dirt from the trash cans he'd squished like cardboard. His ice blue eyes spared you a quick glance but didn't say a word, trying not to draw any attention your way.
Damon intervened as Caroline was struggling to grapple with the stranger. In the span of a moment, she was on the ground groaning with a broken arm and he had launched the assailant to give them a chance to regroup - right toward you.
You couldn't help the little gasp that you emitted, no matter how much time you spent around these creatures this was a vampire. One in particular who would have no hang ups about snapping your neck.
Per their supernatural hearing, it didn't take long for the mans vicious senses to find you, and took half as long for him to have a bruising hand around your neck.
The sound of Damon yelling your name was distant in the background, you were focused on the threat literally snarling in your face.
"Don't you smell good?"
That was as far as the stranger managed to get before Damon had the broken handle of a broom protruding from his back. His grip slipped off your throat as his body slid sideways and you toppled to the ground, heading bouncing off the pavement hard enough for you to see stars.
Damon's voice was faint to you again, but you could hear him begging for your attention. Caroline was in the background too, in panicked discussion with someone over the phone. You couldn't get your eyes to focus though, hair becoming wet and warm.
The eldest Salvatore's touch on you was feather light, his mouth still moving with words he wanted you to latch onto but you had already lost the dance with consciousness.
⋆。˚ ☁︎ ˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆
The first thing you were aware of when you woke up in a bed was that it was decidedly not yours. The next thing you noticed was that you weren't in any pain, just a bit stiff when you went to sit up from the bed. Someone had definitely given you blood, which was against every rule her and her friends had discussed, but from the smell of the sheets behind you - Damon wouldn't have cared either way.
You made your way out of the room and down the stairs, vaguely knowing the layout of the boarding house from your handful of times actually coming inside. Over the last few months you had become dangerously intertwined in Elena's grapple with the supernatural, despite Bonnie's vehement advice to go as far as possible. You were emancipated, you could switch schools and move to Pennsylvania.
No, you couldn't. Once your conscious had been opened to everything around you, once you were aware of the dangers of the dark - you could never ignore that. Better the evil you know.
Speaking of.
You came upon Damon in his favorite spot, a tumbler of bourbon in his hand while he leaned up against the fireplace. The suit jacket he had been wearing earlier that night was discarded on the couch behind him, a small amount of blood on the collar of his shirt still.
"You always look so broody." Poking fun at him might not be in your best interest, but you figured you'd give it a go. Over the last few months, your and Damon's relationship had morphed into something you couldn't quite understand, but moments like these had seemed to become more comfortable between you.
"I believe you're confusing me with my much broodier younger brother." Damon's words were laced with sarcasm, but his tone didn't have a hint of amusement.
You felt suddenly awkward, in his space and home. Just because you had gotten kind of comfortable lately didn't mean he wanted to be around you.
"Well, thanks for the whole life saving thing." You began to babble nervously, a faint pink glow to your cheeks. "I'll get out of your hair. Sorry for taking your bed, I don't even know what time it is-" You had begun turning toward the door, making to just leave and find a way home. How you could this age and still flustered in front of attractive men, especially murderous ones was beyond you.
Damon appearing in front of you almost made your heart stop, hair stirring at his incredibly fast movements. He was barely a foot away, his piercing gaze holding your confused one. From this close you could smell just how much he had probably drank.
"Are you... okay, Damon?" Your voice wavered a bit under the heat of his stare and you saw the muscle in his jaw working overtime while he looked like he was debating whether or not he wanted to actually say anything to you.
"You don't have to thank me for saving you when you were in danger because of me." His eyes had drifted from your eyes to your neck, voice whisper quiet.
Vulnerability was the last thing you expected from the man standing over you. "What do you mean? It wasn't your fault. Just wrong place, wrong time and I so happen to be the weakest link." You hoped your voice conveyed even a bit of humor.
His eyes snapped back up to yours, head tilting slightly while he assessed you. Damon's hand rose to grab a lock of your hair, twirling it around his finger in thought. Your breath caught in your throat, feeling like you were on the precipice of something.
"My weakest link, maybe. Have I told you how much I like your hair?" His voice was still quiet, an innocent lilt.
Your mind was reeling, half drunk on his closeness and hazed by confusion. Where was this coming from? Had he drank a small liquor store and now he was confusing her for her much more appealing best friend?
"Damon, I'm not sure how much you've had to drink, but I'm happy to brew you a pot of coffee. Does that even work for vampires?"
You had started to pull away, making to turn toward the kitchen but Damon was infinitely faster than you. His drink was discarded, one hand going to your upper arm and the other to your waist, tugging you back into his vicinity.
"On the contrary, I don't think I've ever been so sure minded, sparrow. I'm sorry for not protecting you tonight." His voice was tight now, the warmth of his hands tingling down your body.
"It's not your fault, or job, Damon." Your voice had quieted to match his, all humor leaving. You didn't know where this guilt had come from, but it was misplaced. Since you'd met Damon he'd made some bad decisions, but you had also seen his sacrifice so much for the sake of the team. Even if others didn't acknowledge it, he didn't need to add anymore to his plate.
"I'd like it to be. My job." His reply was lightning quick, eyes pinning yours in place.
Were you dreaming?
Damon's signature smirk was visible for a split second, telling you that your confusion was written all over your face. "I think that I'm asking you, in the most coming of age movie way, if you'd like to go steady?"

LEVEL UP | STREAMER!SOOBIN X READER
︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶︶⠀୨♡୧⠀︶︶︶ ⊹ ︶︶
"NO NO NO NO," you heard your boyfriend, Soobin, yell in despair.
Glancing at the Snoopy-themed clock, it read 2:30 AM, marking five hours since he started streaming. You recalled his excitement about being sponsored by the game, hoping for future offers if it goes well.
Rising from your spot on the shared bed, you crossed the dimly lit hall to quietly open the door to his room. He remained intensely focused on the screen, the soft clicks of his mechanical keyboard echoing as you entered. Frustrated sighs followed each demise of his character on screen.
"Chat, you don't understand," he started, setting aside his keyboard and mouse. "No username, I am not taking backseat gaming or any advice from you. The last time I did that, it made me restart the ENTIRE game."
You chuckled softly, watching your boyfriend ruffle his hair in frustration. His slouched shoulders hinted that he was nearing his breaking point and pretty ready to end the stream.
"Binnie," you called out, settling into the beanbag adjacent to his desk.
Soobin perked up instantly at the sound of his name, swiftly removing his earbuds as he rose to approach you. "When did you come in?" he asked, crouching down to your level. Leaning in, he planted a kiss on your lips before gently settling on top of you, eliciting a surprised yelp at his sudden weight.
"You've been at it for five hours, hun," you said, poking his side playfully until he squirmed and finally got up after the tenth poke.
"Come here, and I'll show you why," he motioned you over, patting his lap. His followers knew about you because he couldn't help but talk about you at times, and they have seen your face from the times you brought him snacks or a drink during his streams.
"Hi Chat," You smiled, bringing your face closer to his webcam and giving them a little wave when you settled on his lap.
"Okay," Soobin placed his chin on your shoulder and returned his hands to the keyboard and mouse. "Just watch and see why I just can't get past this stupid level."
You weren't as big of a gamer as Soobin, but you knew your way around from the games he played or even those you tried yourself from the days when he didn't want to be at his computer.
One of the perks of having a gamer boyfriend who was also a popular streamer was having access to his Steam account and his credits to buy games that piqued your interest, often discovered from TikTok.
Your eyes analyzed his movements, and you couldn't help but giggle when he dropped his head, hitting the back of your neck. "I don't understand why it's not working," he sighed in frustration.
"Well, it's because you're not hitting that when you're doing your runs," you explained, gently removing his hands from the setup in front of you. Slowly, you moved his character over to what you believed was the key element for him to pass this level. "See, it's breakable with that TNT sign on it."
You restarted the level and began to execute your run. As you played, Soobin's eyes moved back and forth between his main screen and your side profile, a lovestruck smile spreading across his face, just as his chat had claimed always happened whenever you were in his peripheral vision.
His smile widened as you cheered, successfully passing the level he had spent the majority of his time on. "Wait, babe, you're crazy good," he exclaimed, his jaw-dropping in amazement at the winning transition.
"I'm just better than you, Soobie boobie" you teased, twisting slightly to face him and sticking out your tongue.
He shook his head, laughing, and wrapped his arms tighter around your waist, giving you a quick peck on your cheek.
His joyful expression quickly shifted to one of furrowed eyebrows as he read his chat.
"Chat, she IS NOT replacing me," he groaned, "And stop asking if she's single. I'll literally make out with her right here, right now."
an | there is no specific game I'm referencing, I couldn't really think of one but if anyone has an idea, I can make it for another one!

The Molson Center was vibrating as the Survivor Series was underway. Bret was getting ready for the match just outside gorilla, (Y/N) was watching him with admiration, the title belt in her lap. Her legs dangle off the equipment box she perched herself up on.
“Are you ready to beat up my brother?” she asked with a smile.
He returned the smile and a small laugh.
“Did you talk to him today?” he asked, finishing with the jump rope and moving closer to her. He stood between her legs, having her look straight up to him.
“I talked to him when we got to the arena, he seemed a little distracted. Vince had to talk to him,”  Bret raised an eyebrow at that.
“Why would Vince have to talk to him and not both of us?” he questioned.
“Not sure, but I wouldn’t worry,” she soothes. He smiles down at her.
“You look good with the belt,” he comments.
(Y/N) adjusted the belt to be on her shoulder. She hums, returning the look of admiration. Someone came to get Bret, the match was about to begin. She handed him the belt, giving him one last hug and a kiss for good luck.
“You got this,” she said before he disappeared into gorilla.

Shawn came back first, and with the look on his face, you could tell that he regretted listening to Vince. He saw (Y/N) and immediately brought her into a sweaty hug.
“You did good out there,” she whispered into his shoulder.
Shawn didn’t say anything right away, just squeezing her tightly. He knew the fallout and had put (Y/N) right at ground zero.
“I’m sorry,” he said before leaving Gorilla and going to the locker room.
When Bret came back, the air was as thick as concrete. He brushed past (Y/N), which was unusual. She knew he would be mad at many people but didn’t expect her to be on that list.
(Y/N) was looking for him, she knew that he was beyond upset,
“Bret?” She called out.
(Y/N) peeked around the corner, seeing him leaning against the concrete wall. She moved closer, worried that she is poking a bear by just being there. Bret looked up, and their eyes met, anger still clear in his eyes.
“Did you know?” he asked.
He was trying to not be mad at her, he knew deep down that she didn’t know that this was gonna happen, and that was strictly Shawn and Vince, but at the moment, any person with the last name of Michaels and McMahon was on his internal list.
“No of course I didn’t know. If I knew this was happening I would have warned you! Do you think I wouldn't tell you?”
Bret didn’t answer right away, giving her the answer she wasn’t expecting.
“I know you are really mad at my brother, but that doesn’t give you a right to be mad at me,” she tried to point out. But Bret snapped.
“You’re playing the victim right now? I just got screwed over by the man who I would have done anything for, just because I was leaving!” he yelled, he never yelled at her. “ Ineed a break from WWF, Vince,” he spat while he threw up his hands before he walked away Bret left her speechless and (Y/N) heartbroken.
She didn’t do anything wrong, she didn’t know the plan. She didn’t know Shawn was going to go through with it. She was just as clueless as to Bret, but in this moment he was so upset that he took his frustration out on her. Shawn and Hunter found her in the same spot where Bret had left her. They rushed to her.
“What happened? He didn’t hurt you did he?” Shawn’s protective brother mode turned on.
She just shook her head. Her head down trying to hide the tears that were falling.
“Can we go back to the hotel?” She whispered.
Shawn and Hunter looked at each other with concern. They knew that this was going to happen, they knew how (Y/N) is but they also knew Bret.
“Yeah, we can. Come on,”
Tumblr media
Shawn drove (Y/N) back to the hotel, he trusted her to drive after what happened. Because she was staying with Bret before, she decided to stay with Shawn. They got back to his room and ushered her to the bed. He looked down at his younger sister and sighed.
“Oh (Y/N),” was all he said before the water finally broke the dam.
Shawn quickly switched into big brother mode. He sat down beside her and just hugged her. He hasn’t seen her like this since she and her high school boyfriend broke up and the day after they broke up, the ex was with another girl. He wanted to tell her that it would be ok, but because he was the reason behind it all, he couldn’t guarantee that it would be.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
She didn’t reply, but her sobs turned into whimpers. Shawn moved so she would lie down. He whipped away some of her tears, placed a blanket over her, and kissed her forehead.
“I am going to see Hunter ok,” he said.
“Can you bring me back some food?” she asks, her voice just above a whisper.
“Of course. Your favourite?” Her head moved with a small nod.
“Yes please,” Shawn kissed her head again before leaving the room.
It was quiet for what felt like hours, but really only about 30 min, when someone knocked at the door. (Y/N) ignored the knocks, whoever was on the other side of the door they could come back later.
“(Y/N) I know you’re in there,” Bret’s voice was muffled by the door, but clear enough from the bed.
Her heart stopped at the sound of Bret’s voice. She didn’t move right away, worried that she was just hearing things.
“(Y/N) please,” Bret pleaded.
She moved at that, she knew that he would never plead for anything. She wrapped the blanket around her while she moved towards the door. (Y/N) opened the door slowly, letting the light from the hallway fill the dimly lit room. Bret stood there in his worn jeans, her favourite loose flannel, with his hair loosely pulled back into a bun. Bret seeing his misses like this broke his heart. He knew that he had fucked up, but seeing how hurt she was made it more real.
“May I come in?”
She didn’t say anything, she just moved to let him in. Once the Hitman was in, she closed the door and moved back to the bed. He sat beside her, not saying a word. They sat there for a moment, the heavy silence lingered. She was sitting cross-legged with her hands in her lap. He slowly inched his hand towards hers, eventually worming his into her. There was no resistance from her to his advancements.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
“I know,” still not making eye contact with him.
“I shouldn’t have taken my anger at Shawn and Vince out on you. You did nothing but support me and I couldn’t handle my emotions,” his thumb moved in small circles on the back of hers.
(Y/N) eyes finally met his and he saw how red they had become because of the crying. His heart broke at the sight of his girl being this upset because of him.
“What hurt the most is that you didn’t trust me when I told you that I didn’t know,” her voice was still shaky.
Bret pulled her into his lap, wrapping his arms around her. His embrace was welcomed. She laid her head on his shoulder, the soft flannel with the smell of his cologne calmed her. He placed a kiss on the crown of her head and gently tucked her under his chin.
“I have a lot of making up to do,” he spoke softly. (Y/N) lets out a snort.
“Yeah just a little,” the once tense air was replaced with a lighter one.
He shifted her around and placed soft kisses on her nose, cheeks, and neck.
“I love you,” he says between kisses.
“I love you too,” he then, finally, places a kiss on her lips. The kiss turned heated just as the door started to open.
“Uhh, not on my bed,” Shawn’s voice broke the intimate moment between the two.
They look over to see Shawn and Hunter standing there, with take-out food in hand. Bret immediately went on the defensive, standing up, and blocking (Y/N). Hunter moved to be in front of Shawn, so if Bret does throw a punch it will hit him first.
“I know why you’re here and it has nothing to do with us,” Shawn states over Hunter's shoulder. “And right now I am the last guy you want to talk to. But you hurt my baby sister,”
“I know,” Bret put his hand behind his back, (Y/N) reached out and grabbed it, gave it a squeeze for reassurance.
“I’m still her brother and will kick your ass if she comes to me crying again. WCW or WWF, I will find you and do a number on you,” Shawn threatens. (Y/N) smiles into Bret’s back at her brother's words.
“I know,” Bret says with a shit-eating grin.
“Here you go,” Shawn hands her the food she requested. She pulls Shawn into a hug, one that they both need.
“If you need me I am one call away,” he whispers.
“I know,” she whispers back. When they release the hug, Bret puts his arm around her and makes their way back to their shared room.
“You may or may not have this exact meal waiting for you back in our room,” Bret says as they get to the elevator.
“As it should be,” she replies with a giggle.
He placed one last, for now, kiss on her head. He lost a lot tonight but he was able to save this from slipping out of his grasp also.
