A question about the Sebastian Revisited mod: does he get friendship/rivalry points in Act 1?

I'm playing without that particular mod, and between my character mostly making choices that he agrees with and him only joining in Act 2, he's the only one I couldn't get anywhere near triggering a Questioning Beliefs quest for. It's frustrating as all get-out. At least his 50% QB quest can trigger in Act 3. Probably to compensate for his late joining?

Sebastian is basically dead weight in act 1 because he has no approval boosts and no quest dialogue. It's not substantively different from recruiting him in act 2. I guess I could go through and monkey with the approval boosts in my full game dialogue overhaul mod I have in the works, but here's the thing: going through and analyzing what various companions approve/disapprove of is gonna make me soooooooooooo cranky. So I haven't lol.

The thing about Sebastian is that he's also straight up just dead weight in some act 2 quests lmfaooo. I don't know that I've ever successfully pushed him to 100% without cheating, but he's also not the only character whose approval I usually end up cheating in a playthrough, since I'd rather choose the dialogue I want to hear than try to game the system.

Everyone's 50% Questioning Beliefs can still be acquired in act 3 (if it isn't bugged) though. That's standard.

Part of the reason I'm so adamant about encouraging people to get comfortable with bugs, my own interests aside, is because we cannot have a bright, solarpunk future without them.

A green future is not a bugless future. It is, in fact, a fairly bugful future. If you care about ecological stability, then you need to start with bugs, because they're the most at risk with our current use of pesticides.

#solarpunk #I'm sure someone actually working in conservation can chip in with more detail but #I just notice that a lot of these solarpunk aesthetics tend to be full of plants but often bereft of bugs #and people tend to avoid them as a whole out of courtesy for people who might be afraid of so much as an image #but we NEED to get comfortable with them existing and being around us #we need to stop encouraging fearing and hating them as a bonding activity #and to all of you trying to do that right now even though you have a phobia: I'm proud of you.

Percy (and maybe the other big three kids) being sent back in time to the Titanomachy by the Fates.

Percy expecting to see adult gods fighting, the gods he knows.

Percy seeing kid-gods barely older than him, some younger. The myths were wrong.

Percy seeing kid-gods huddled around a fire, eyes so unused to so much light and awkward, flailing, scarred limbs unused to being used other than to hold each other up (stomach acid can dissolve metal. How painful was it for beings who cant properly die?)

Percy seeing god-kids who cant even sleep alone let alone fight adults that have killed before and is fine with killing them. Blood only matters when it is spilled here.

Percy seeing kids go to war regardless.

Percy seeing kids go to war against the same monster he fought 1000s of years later. He sees his friends in these kids.

Percy realizing that this is a cycle. Since the beginning its always been kids going to war for their parents. It probably will be that in the end.

#I watched it today it was so good #im not big on dinosaur stuff but i like how it was used to approach the predator/prey conversation especially when both sides are sentient #instead of just defaulting to well since predators are meat eaters their actions are automatically immoral so their role in the story #has to match. and then when your characters /are/ meat eaters you just step around that whole topic #heart knows he has to kill and eat so there’s no avoiding it but even he knows he has agency over that #hell he even decided to hunt by himself so umasou doesn’t have to see him kill and eat another dinosaur a day after meeting him #and maybe its because it’s a kids movie but it also doesn’t make a big show over the act of hunting and eating. it doesn’t dwell on it #like yes you can clearly see them ripping into guts minus the graphic details but it doesnt go out of its way to censor it either #its played straight just like hearts mom having more kids like nobody asks who the father is or when that happened cuz it doesn’t matter #what matters is she still loves heart and encourages her kids to greet their big brother and they do!!! it’s sweet #Beckon was also an interesting touch bc they make it clear the only reason he doesnt eat umasou is bc he cant and not that he wouldn’t #but he’s still a funny and interesting character and that doesn’t get in the way of how we see him too much #same for baku he was pretty polite with heart esp from the start when he asks him if hes abandoned implying he would be prepared to #look out for him from the start. and at the end when he decides to spare him. I dont hate him at all hes just intimidating #you are umasou #doodles #I wanted to draw smth more detailed but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the cartoony art style #or smth closer to realistic?? so this is like. some sort of compromise I guess

#stardew valley #farmer asmodeus♡#asmo is such a funny lil guy and uh well he and shane have recently adopted and i was like #looking up asmodeus (the demon) info and lore and stuff hoping to find a kiddo name because #i thought his title was duke for some reason but alas its king #and so i didnt wanna name their kid king and i was scrolling and honestly somehow hes the most on brand loserman #i purposefully created him to avoid a fish name and then he gets stuck with only fishing requests and #turns out asmodeus in one iteration admits he hates water WHICH IS REALLY ON BRAND FOR MY BELOATHED FISHERMAN #which also id like to point out the first request on the board was for a pufferfish #and then the first new big request i could do was either something in the mines or fishing 20 trash out #and i have YET to get 20 trash and ive tried that quest LIKE FOUR TIMES????#he cannot catch trash its impossible hes too good at fishing he hates it here #anyway all that to say i decided to go the other route for the demon lore which is in relation to lust #and you may ask salmon what the fuck can you do with that for a childs name #and the answer is i named their child cupid #and on that note i agreed to cover a workers shift tomorrow at 3am so i gotta get ready for bed #gnight gang

I had a shrink appointment today and while I could not see it I knew my doc was going through the five stages of grief while I explained my fool proof strategy for doing my t shots despite a crippling fear of needles: By abusing my vastly more crippling fear of being an inconvenience.

My mother and I play phasmophobia together every week. she usually has a pretty limited time to do this bc she's like. a doctor and a college professor whos always busy. So I asked her to just. hold me to doing them. We don't start playing until the shot is done. so my needle fear doesn't matter because now it's Wasting™ her time and I have to do it quick. Using one neurosis to defeat another.

It's a horrible coping mechanism because it's feeding the inconvenience fear, but it is definitionally a coping mechanism.
