katsuki had dragged you to his room to start studying for the practical exams. you groaned and whined the whole way, he was an academic, and so he was really big on being ‘focused’ and ‘committed’ to the work.

as he questioned you on quadratics and gave you a question to solve, as if you'd be able to solve it. you slammed your head against the table in frustration, as he continued solving the problem as if nothing was wrong. you pouted, you chin on the table as you watched him. one of his hands free as the others did all the work.

you were just so bored, your palms were already out of space from when you were doodling earlier so,

you started to draw on his hand, he was startled by the sudden feeling of a pen on his hand, jerking slightly. “don't move you're gonna ruin it!”

“fuck are ya’ doing anyways? we're supposed to be studying?”

“i'm bored. just do it yourself.”

his face scrunched up in annoyance as he finished up his work, doing his best not to move his hand.

you were actually really focused, or maybe you were just taking a long time because you wanted to hold his hand. who knows.

when you finished, clicking your pen again with a satisfied nod, he looked over his hand, eyebrows raised in surprise.

he actually really liked it. it looked like a mosaic almost, you drawing whatever had come to your mind, some of the things invoking his interests. small explosion doodles mixed in with flowers, chibi doodles of the two of you with heart in between, and a little skull reminiscent of his shirt.

he was so distracted by it, he didn't notice you copying down all of his answers.

almost.

he grabbed your face in his other hand, squishing your cheeks and forcing your lips into a pout. he silently looked over you for a second, pecking your lips briefly before resuming his original position.

“draw me some shit on a piece of paper next time, 'don't want it to get ruined.”

with another kiss to your lips, he handed a flustered you a piece of paper,

“but do your own work, baby.”

with a fastened heart and face dusted with pink, you'd never finished an assignment faster.

IWTV Musings - Tentative Timeline (Pt6b: 1300s - 1900s) - AMC Only (S1 - S2)

This timeline is to help me keep track of AMC's dates that Lestat & Armand slung around in S1 & S2. What irks me is that not only have these dates been changed from the book canon, but they also don't line up with what we know from the show itself. Unreliable narrators are all over this show, and contrary to popular opinion, Armand AND Lestat are no exception.

Pt5a (text) & Pt5b (graph) covered TVC’s dates from 1300s - 1600s.

Pt6a (text) & Pt6b (graph) tracks AMC’s S1 & S2 version of dates from 1300s - 1920s.

I can imagine a teen MC going to Satan for help with their homework from the human world and he just… can’t do Highschool math.

Of course he can help with English and science, and obviously he’s good at history he was there when those things were happening.

All goes well until MC pulls out their algebra homework.

He tries to help, really he tries everything he can think of to figure it out… but he just can’t.

And it’s not because he can’t solve a simple algebra problem it’s just that the way math has been taught changed quite a bit since the last time he actually had to do any algebra.

He simply just can’t figure out what they want you to do from how the question is worded, and since when did they change the formulas?

Eventually he gets so stressed from it he ends up caving in and going to Lucifer.

Except he can’t solve it either. Of course he doesn’t admit he can’t figure out how to solve it, his ego would be wounded. But he does go on a slight rant about how it’s stupid that humans keep changing simple math.

Somehow the others get involved, and now you have seven demons crowded around your math homework trying their best to figure it out.

Even Belphie is awake and Levi came out of his room. Asmo calls Solomon, hoping he would remember something about Highschool math.

Except he hasn’t even been to Highschool… he’s lived so long that when he was born school wasn’t really a thing, and when it did become a more common thing he just kinda went to college then studied magic.

Somehow Solomon gets Barbatos involved along with Diavolo, and now the prince of the devildom is trying (and failing) to do a simple math problem meant for fifteen year olds. Simeon gets called over by Solomon, thinking that maybe he would know. But no, he hasn’t studied math since a couple centuries ago.

Now you have nine demons a human and an angel desperately trying to solve a math problem.

Eventually you just grab the paper away for a second and use photomath to get the answer. You decide that it’s better to leave them be after finishing the whole paper without their help, they’ll figure it out eventually.

-Yes this is inspired by the fact that I tried to help a younger cousin with her math homework and I felt so old since math genuinely changed since I was in high school. Seriously that was only like six years ago why did it change?

Quick thought while I'm trying to prepare for my goddamn exams, but Logan would be the type of father figure to go "What'cha doin'? Oh, math?? You want help? I mean, surely, it couldn't have changed since I managed to get the jist of it." and then ten minutes in he's throwing hands in the air and yelling "THEN WHY ISN'T IT WORKING!?" and you're there, as agitated as he is, like "I DON'T KNOW THAT'S WHAT I'M ASKING YOU!?!?"

Would later apologise he yelled (a muttered "'m sorry.." with the same energy as a cat that scratched you without thinking) and quietly cut up some fruit for you in the hopes that you'd forgive him (you can see the guilt on his face🥺)

Anyways I hate functions KILL ME.

IWTV Musings - Tentative Timeline (Pt7): AMC vs Sinners Crossover

I saw a crack theory about the likelihood of Stack/Mary being Bass!Claudia's biological parents, and I had to make this crossover timeline real quick, cuz the math ain't mathin; there's no way they could be her parents, chronologically. (I especially hate how lowkey/highkey colorist this theory is for disregarding Hayles!Claudia as the canonical Claudia, just cuz her actress isn't biracial.)

I only picked dates/events relevant to when Remmick, Lestat, Louis, Claudia, the Smokestack Twins, and Mary would've been alive & active. My complete, separate timelines for each fandom are here:

I already did breakdowns of how I settled on these dates, so I won't do a Pt7a & Pt7b like I would otherwise. But I'll just copy/paste what I initially said about Claudia & Stack/Mary's dates under the cut; and add one or two extra bits for context:

When I made my initial Sinners timeline, I was unaware of Oliver Cromwell's attack on Ireland to push Protestant Christianity, to replace St. Patrick's Irish Catholicism. This would bump Remmick's date range all the way down to the 17th century (1649–1653); still making him older than Lestat, but only by a century. This actually makes WAY more sense, but I'm still on the prowl for deets about Remmick's gold coins. 👀

The Smokestack Twins were born c. 1890s - 1900 (to be in their 30s by 1932).

AMC!Claudia was born in 1903.

The twins fought in WW1 c. 1914/1917 - 1918 (likely as Buffalo Soldiers); you had to be 18+ to join the army, meaning 1896 is the earliest they could've been born, and 1900 is the latest--unless we assume they lied about their age in order to enlist. So there's only a 7-3yr age difference between the twins & Claudia. 😅

Claudia was 14yo in 1917, when she was turned into a vampire. She was living with her "mean ole auntie" that died in the fire, cuz her mother died in childbirth and her father never wanted her. So this would mean Mary died in childbirth and Stack gave Claudia up for adoption to Mary's sister (the mean ole auntie who was on fire).

In 1932, Claudia was 29yo, roughly the same age as Mary (if Hailee Steinfeld's IRL age of 28yo is any indication)
